  • There's a lot of people who don't like playing vs certain survivor playstyles. Goes both ways.

  • Nemesis has fists and a hand tentacle, too.

  • Might be something to do with the influx of newer players who haven't really grasped efficient survivor play.

The game is pretty balanced right now. Buffing either side would make them OP.

"Pretty balanced" doesn't mean we should stop any further balancing. And how does buffing either side make them OP? The demogorgon's buff isn't making him OP.

  • @MadLordJack said:

That's not how balancing works. Making one side blatantly overpowered in a game whose playerbase is getting more and more competitive... Need I finish that thought?

No one said to make one side blatantly overpowered.

  • Freddy.

He has to spend the rest of his nightmarish existence knowing he'll never be the Robert Englund version.

  • @fancynancy said:

@Khar Yeah, but from the survivor's perspective, we want to escape just as much as killers want the kills. It's also what survivors have to do... which is to survive.

Which is fine, but extending the chase is what leads to killer frustration and losing a hook or even the match. An extended chase is a threat to the killer's time management. If they can't get the down and put the survivor on the hook then you get situations where tunneling and camping can happen in response. Mind you, survivors can still escape after being hooked twice and a killer can not get a kill after getting 8 hooks.

  • @fancynancy said:

I'm a survivor main and run dead hard purely to avoid getting downed during a chase. A lot of killers seem to think this is a strong perk, when I'd say it's a very half and half type of perk. Half of the time, it'll benefit me and the other half, I'm exhausted on the ground, dead hard a bit too early, or dead hard but get downed bc I'm in a dead zone. It's also an exhaustion perk, so I'll only be able to use it once during a chase (unless I happen to quickly get my exhaustion back). So if anything, I feel like it's very balanced and countered. Don't get me wrong through, I can see how you go for a hit and miss bc of dead hard, but I don't think it's enough to "get rid of it" especially bc killers are faster than survivors.. Is that not fair enough??

Kind of answered your own question. You use it to "avoid getting downed during a chase". Killers are supposed to down survivors and a perk that can prevent can be very devastating from the killer's side of the match.

No, I've played against these blights and I don't need some stupid video arguing that it's okay for me to know it's not okay. Don't need to watch racist propaganda to know racism is bs either.

How you can compare a video in defense of J-flicks to racist propaganda is beyond me. That's not an argument, it's just speaking from ignorance.

  • @Haddix said:

That's all I hear. I'm seeing nothing but parroting and people plugging their ears for no reason. It seems like people don't actually want to argue against the counterargument, they're just repeating the same arguments every single ######### time the topic comes up lol.

Yeah. Like you said, their whole argument is based on ignorance. They think J-flicks are uncounterable where there is video evidence of survivors countering J-flick in youtube videos and on stream (the survivors playing during Otz's tier stream even said so, live on twitch, as they were versing a J-Flicking Blight).

It honestly sounds like laziness on the survivor's part. With each new killer released over the years survivors had to adapt to new mechanics and playstyles. Suddenly, however, Blight comes along and some vocal survivors are simply not interested in adapting. Just shut it down, no if's, and's, or but's about it. They want Blight to be played in a certain way, even though they're not the ones playing Blight.

    Blows my mind.

  • @Haddix said:

I love how the argument of some here is that "I'm not gonna watch the video, but the Jflick is uncounterable."

You don't have a place to argue about something that you're not actually going to properly look into. The comments here show the exact issue with the entire argument against Jflicks, which is ignorance.

There's no thought put into the argument against them besides "It's an exploit = It's bad, it should go, and it's uncounterable." The lack of effort in looking at the topic from any other angle than that is the most boring way of thinking imaginable.

You won't actually address points from the counterargument. Why?

Because they have no strong counter argument. They basically parrot the "devs said it's not intended" and "the devs said they're removing it", despite the facts these are the same devs who thought pallet and flashlight saves were always intended to work during ANYTIME of the pick up animation. That was quickly reverted.

  • I had one last night, in fact. Tunneling Wraith, go figure.

  • @Firellius said:

It is the single worst thing the game has to offer.

Make the hook timer stop as long as the killer is within a set distance from the hook.

What's the killer incentive not to camp? There's a number of reasons a killer would want or even feel they need to.

  • @Sluzzy said:

No, high mobility killers are brokenly overpowered against the majority of survivor teams. They need to have a lot more penalty to using their power so they are fair to verse in any match. Blight regains tokens way too fast.

    How is that fair?

  • Maybe environmental herbs to collect and combine to make the equivalent of a brown medkit? 😅

  • @Yords said:

The effect it has on solo queuing survivors is amazing. It gives them the most important information they need when they need it through aura reading.

Aura reading should be limited to the use of perks or items. Aura reading base kit seems a bit too much for solo queuing survivors as well. I know that solo needs a buff, but I just don't t think making it base kit would work. After all, it only helps to an extent.

I think solo queue needs something else, something to spice things up that won't break the game.

Basekit kindred would be fine if it were nerfed to only being able to see other survivor auras.. Kindred, the perk itself, should then have the added benefit of revealing the killer's aura.

  • 99ing gates gives too much control to the survivors. A killer will only open a gate due to being fed up and wanting the match to end, but survivors are able to make easy escapes by 99ing. It completely counters Blood Warden and the EGC event, giving them time to make a rescue, set up body blocking, and escape.

EGC isn't supposed to help killers get kills, but it shouldn't be something survivor's can bypass entirely. Make it neutral. Regressing exit gates would incentivize survivor's actually committing to opening gates and not cheesing the system.

The man who designed the Blight said it's unintended and to not get used to it.

Its an exploit. Like stretched res.

A good player can play to limits, but a bad player abuses exploits to eliminate limits.

I'm sure the guy who designed survivor movement didn't intend survivor's to be able to spin a killer in order to avoid being hit. How you define a good blight is one that can be easily countered, which is worrying. In your other post, you even show disdain for how often the Blight can USE his power, not just for hitting, but the frequency it comes off of cooldown.

What IS the ideal Blight for you? What would actually make him a killer that would get your approval?

  • @Dweet_Unfairfield said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2091842#Comment_2091842

I would prefer any of those but Freddy.

Good blights dont need jflick. Good blights learn his limits and work with them to master him.

J-flicking would be said limit and is a form of mastery of him.

  • I think he and his J-flick is fun. Sucks people want to nerf him. Just means they'd rather go against Nurses, Spirits, and Freddys more often, which are killers that are complained about being seen too often.

Now take that last point and apply it to LGBTQ+ relationships. Since when have they been taboo? Why shouldn't they be included in the background lore of a character just because it's a horror game?

I don't remember making that assertion and I don't care about LGBTQ+ relationships being included in the background lore so long as it's not a result of LGBTQ+ harassing the devs to do so. There's enough of that ######### on the internet and it's NOT a good look for them.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1977442#Comment_1977442

    1) Clearly you, its a horror game! Therefore it should only include horror titles for fans of horror! Not sci-fi!

    2) Yes, it is.

    3) But they're not exactly horror are they?

    1. You act like sci-fi can't be horror. Aliens is a good example. An other worldly creature violently kills or kidnaps people.
    2. I disagree, but whatever.
    3. Since when were funny outfits not allowed in horror? We've had several movies with killer clowns or people in goofy outfits being murdered.
  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1977404#Comment_1977404

    1) Stranger Things is technically sci-fi not horror

    2) Yes, that's still pandering

    3) Correct it's a horror game! I expect to see you lobbying for the removal of all the other relationships in the game too, alongside anything that may be considered not horror themed. Bunny Feng or Dwelf? Out the window. Mr Puddles can kiss his arse goodbye, too.

    1. Who cares?
    2. No, it isn't.
    3. Bunny Feng and Dwelf can still be violently murdered by Mr. Puddles. 🙄
  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1977315#Comment_1977315

And yet pandering to fans of:

    -Halloween

    -Leatherface

    -Ghostface

    -A Nightmare On Elm Street

    -Saw

    -Stranger Things

    -Silent Hill

Is perfectly okay? But pandering to LGBTQ+ isn't?

What about the straight relationships confirmed? Why is okay that they're in the game yet nothing LGBTQ+ is? Why is it only an issue if its LGBTQ+?

That's not pandering to the fans, it's licensing big name horror movie villains/characters to get people to buy their DLC. It's a horror themed game. 🙄

  • Of course they were. It's all those types do is harass and bully companies into it instead of letting creators do what they want to do.

There's no problem with DH I've never lost a game because someone used DH. I just can't believe how many people are salty about DH. Especially with the desync issues where I can literally hit a survivor around a corner. Learn how to chase, learn how to force a survivor out of position, and just get better at the game.

I'm saying it now if you have a problem with DH as a killer then you just aren't good at killer and you should probably spend less time complaining and more time working on improving. In my eyes killers who complain about DH are the equivalent of a salty face camper that loses every game. Get Good.

Are you basing all this off using DH to dodge a hit and ignoring DH for distance?

You shouldn't NEED a perk to get around it? Funny, thats exactly what killers are complaining about when it comes to gen rushing. People all say bring perks to slow gen progression, but you shouldn't NEED those perks to prevent being gen rushed right?

Yep. Let's see if the devs do anything to solve both side's problems.

  • So, Haddonfield every match? No thanks. Rather all maps be trimmed and reworked to be balanced and fair so that I don't have to groan every time I get a ######### map.

  • I die a little inside when I get Mother's Den or Haddonfield.

"Gen rushing" translation: the survivors shouldn't do their only objective because I want to camp/tunnel/mori

You'd think there'd be less camping and tunneling if killers didn't have to worry so much about gens and could just play as a killer instead of gen janitor.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1912132#Comment_1912132

I agree wit this. And, actually, they DID add another objective for survivors.

It was called Hex: Undying + Hex: Ruin. The objective was to hunt and find the totems that would regress generators you left while your team tries to stay on the generators for as long as possible. It created a "scavenger hunt" role for a survivor to take, and was buffed with certain perks and add-ons to make it easier to do.

And SO MANY PEOPLE complained about having to do anything other than work on generators that they're gutting Hex: Undying to the point of uselessness. This was a legitimate Secondary Objective that even cost the killer two of their perk slots to engage and people felt so OPPRESSED by having to do anything other than sit on generators for 80 seconds that the devs killed a perk 3-4 months after releasing it.

This is why we can't have nice things. Anything that strengthens killers or make survivor tasks more complicated will immediately be met with a chorus of voices whining about how they can't just faceroll from one match to the next.

Really makes it seem like upping how much time it takes to finish gens is the right path to go, since it's all survivors ever WANT to do.

  • Yeah, it's ######### ridiculous how many pallets were placed on that map INTENTIONALLY. And don't forget the breakable walls. Holy moly, it's like giving the killer their own totems to cleanse. As if killers aren't already stressing over time.

Yes hitboxes/ vsync got way worse with this patch, the game is now god pallet simulator, but everything else is good

Did you not watch any videos or read any posts people made about their grievances? They're incredibly easy to find.

  • Why do people want a 2v8 mode? The game is hardly balanced at 1v4 and swf and another game mode would, at best, split the community and make survivor queue times even longer.

  • @Crowman said:

Honestly Undying should have still revived the totems on dull totems, just make it so each totem can only be revived once. This could allow multi totem builds with undying while still keeping with the nerf of only 1 revive.

It would also give the aura reading on dull totems a purpose, because right now dull totems mean nothing with undying so seeing auras at dulls isn't that useful.

Yeah, having dull totems be something survivors had to take a break from slamming gens was nice. 2nd obj and all

  • With Undying nerfed survivors can go back to gen rushing in full force again.

Just look away when approaching a generator. You already know where they are. Why do you need to be staring directly at them to approach especially if you know they have Spine Chill.

It just sounds like you're being lazy and don't want to adjust your play

A perk that let's a survivor know a killer is coming ahead of time, potentially avoiding a hit or even a chase, with no cooldown whatsoever, and you call it lazy on the killer's part?

    ok.

  • @Gay_Police_Dept said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1929374#Comment_1929374

Ok so should we nerf Whispers as well since it tells that a survivor is around even if they are hiding inside a locker? Btw, Whispers doesn't have any counter at all, Spine chill does.

You act like Spine chill leaves stealh killers powerless, which is completely false.

Killer and survivor roles are completely different. Whispers is a tracking perk, which survivors do not need. It has a wide radius to let a killer know there's a survivor around, but not how many or their exact location. Spine chill let's the survivor know a killer is looking in their direction, which can be used to get away before the killer even arrives, so they can use that information to get away that much faster.

I personally don't mind Whispers being nerfed, as I don't see it as a strong perk to begin with (best used for beginners, in my opinion), but I don't see why survivor's should have a perk that gives them so much information at no cost. I wouldn't mind it so much if simply allowed stealth killers to actually be undetectable by Spine Chill, but that it can completely negate a stealth killer's surprise attack just seems unfair.

  • @Gay_Police_Dept said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1929174#Comment_1929174

Lmao, it's you that you are only seeing it from the point of view of killers.

    Stealth killers with undetectable have:

Spine chill just lets survivors know the killer is somewhere around, it DOES NOT disable any of those features. It doesn't even tell the direction they are coming from nor how close they are.

Don't forget that survivors have to use one of the 4 perk slots to counter something that they might find or not, that's another reason why i'm saying the perk is fine. PLUS YOU JUST NEED TO LOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE TO COUNTER IT, JUST MOVE YOUR CAMERA A BIT FFS LOL.

Exactly. Spine chill let's survivors know the killer is somewhere around. It completely defeats the purpose of the stealth mechanic of those killers (more than 1 killer, mind you) with just one perk. You act like a stealth killer getting the surprise attack means survivors don't still have their complete arsenal of windows, pallets, and loops at their disposal.

  • @Astrian said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/224560/can-we-nerf-spine-chill-please

What rank are you playing at where so many people are running Spine Chill to the point where Stealth Killers are unviable because it sure as hell isn't Green -> Red

That is again ignoring the perk and it's use. The issue is how much information a survivor gains versus killers with stealth mechanics built into their kit. It doesn't matter what rank you play, because the perk is in the game and counters those killers.

  • @Gay_Police_Dept said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1928771#Comment_1928771

Spine chill is not an issue, especially because there's a counter, as i have already said.

Survivors don't know where killers are coming from or even if they are targeting them. Not all maps are outdoors either, so survivors can't always look around to see if the killer is coming, and if they can hear them then that's a guaranteed hit.

If Spine chill was part of the base kit i would agree with you, but it's a perk, so it's fine.

Spine chill is an issue, because of how it counters the stealth aspect of stealth killers. Again, what's the point of having stealth killers if a single perk (a perk without even a cooldown, mind you, and speeds up survivor actions from just having the killer look in their direction).

I cannot agree with you that this perk is fine. You're only looking at it from the point of view of survivors.

  • @Gay_Police_Dept said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1928711#Comment_1928711

Some killers completely ignore game mechanics, like the nurse, so why can't survivors have a PERK that helps them against stealth killers?

Gonna repeat what i said 3 posts above:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1925637#Comment_1925637

Nurse is the only killer to ignore them and she's a huge complaint amongst killers and survivors, but does not address the issue of Spine chill and stealth killers.

  • @Gay_Police_Dept said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1925593#Comment_1925593

It looks more like some killer mains don't want survivors to have some sort of counter to things at all, which is the purpose of many perks.

Why should survivors be able to 'counter' an entire killer mechanic? Why bother having stealth killers at all then? Being undetectable to spinechill wouldn't stop survivors from doing gens and looping, so what exactly is the issue other than shitting on the stealth killers?

  • @Beelzeboop said:

It makes stealth killers barely viable.

A quick fix with minimal effort would be to reduce the range by half or more if the killer is Undetectable.

    It shouldn't be that hard.

You're gonna get a LOT of survivor mains protesting this. They don't want stealth killers to be able to actually sneak up on them.
