I'd remove it entirely. A perk like this does not belong in game.
-
Probably because of the time constraint put on killer. Loops can buy what can seem like "too much" time for survivors that that killer feels like the match was unfair and unfun.

As has been pointed out a number of times.
No-one is accusing the character of LF of racism, but rather removing a tool that racist players are abusing to harass POC streamers.
Leatherface isn't being punished, nor are the masks an "important" feature - they're purely cosmetic. I'm sure the fictional character of The Cannibal won't care as much as you're making it out he will.
It's punishing the players who use the cosmetics without being racist. It really is an insult. This doesn't fix anything and is just cowardly.
-
It's weird that BHVR punishes everyone for the actions of a few racists.
-
It's gotten dull. It's just gens getting done super quick unless you use slow down, and even then you have survivors running the same overused perks. Both sides are really growing stale, honestly. At least with boon totems I've switched to survivor to have fun using those. Killer, though, just is a sweatfest.
-
Use your chainsaw to force the survivors to drop pallet early
-
Play With Your Food is great on him. Get all 3 stacks off of your obsession, fill your Evil Within to almost tier 3, and go find the others. Go tier 3, down that survivor, leaving you with 2 stacks of PWYF. Infectious Fright will let you know if there's anyone else around to start a snowball. Either way, Tier 3 Myers with that speed boost is deadly. For the other two perks, I usually go with Ruin/Undying, but you can swap them out with whatever you feel will help with gen defense.

Actually read it and you'll find out.
I'll just assume there's no real rules being broken since you refuse to tell me. Can't say I didn't try to get you to help make it clear.

Asking for clarification on things clearly listed in asterisks is you not trying or derailing. I thought you left already?
People who interrupt gameplay like hook guarders should be penalized and contradictory rules should not be what is protecting them.
So, face camping was the issue?

If you read it then you wouldn't need a play by play. Just say you don't agree and move on.
We were given the definition of the behaviour, agreed it was incorrect for fun gameplay THEN ALLOWED IT ANYWAYS.
You do not get to derail a discussion about contradictory rules *the topic* because you didn't want to read it. Have a good day and goodluck getting through any other post you "try" to muddle through.
I've read it several times and asked for specifics so that I could understand. Since you'd rather not make your message more clear to me, I'll stop trying to "derail" your discussion by asking for more information. 🤷

No. You can read it, that is also listed.
I did read it and I'm not seeing it. So, if you don't care to tell me, I don't care to continue on with this. Best of luck with your games.

Yes where it says I figured it out and ties into the point of why it's contradictory.
Okay, so what were the killers doing?
-
""Then recently I kept getting stuck with killers I thought were breaking the rules, turns out the same things they say isn't allowed **literally listed under the report buttons** is IN FACT allowed by the Killers. ""

Again you didn't read it to figure out the conclusion then this is a you problem, it's still up there.
Which paragraph specifically? I've read it twice and you haven't made it clear what the killers are doing that's against the rules. Is it smacking people on the hook? Camping? Those aren't against the rules. Are they holding the game hostage?

And you failed to read it.
Point it out to me. What was the rule that was broken?

This isn't under anything important because it doesn't matter, just a point that has made me unwilling and uninterested in getting into DbD further.
First week I joined DbD it was great, played all the time, quite literally. So much so that my first altercation was someone calling me a liar about starting earlier that day and playing into the wee hours of the morning... And possibly pulling a 24 hour day to be able to keep playing. This was looking like my next obsession.
My first toxic players were actually fellow survivors getting mad at me for skill checks on my literal first day lol No big deal if they got too ugly I do what I always do, take out the trash by blocking. Point was it didn't bother me because the game was still fun even when I died. Legit I vote on those matches and 100% thumbs up killers who wiped my whole team and didn't *at the time I thought* cheat.
Then recently I kept getting stuck with killers I thought were breaking the rules, turns out the same things they say isn't allowed **literally listed under the report buttons** is IN FACT allowed by the Killers. Lmfao, just why? We were given the definition of the behaviour, agreed it was incorrect for fun gameplay THEN ALLOWED IT ANYWAYS LMFAO
I have made my ticket and asked it to be looked at, doubt anything will change but there is some seriously shady business going on when at first these players were few and far in between. Now you can't escape them. This game could of been my main one and for a minute there I thought it would be.
If the game creators do something REAL about the Killers quite literally taking advantage of game mechanics, camping, and griefing survivors ON HOOKS then I would really like to come back.
Until then, if you're a new player and you don't have a team of friends you can talk to, this game prolly isn't for you because after a while, like I said you get nothing but poorly skilled killers with cheap tactics that suck all the fun out.
On that note this game shouldn't be fun to only killers when there are four other players in the match.
You failed to mention what the rule was broken.

Never even heard of Propnight.
VHS has potential, but PC only? Eh.
I think they will take away from Dead by Daylight's playerbase... For one week.
Depends what the players want out of a game like VHS. The game is focused on teens having to confront the monster, not slam gens and leave. There's bound to be a good portion of DBD's player base that would enjoy a game can't be won by gen rushing or tunneling/face camping.

Have I ever said that I don't enjoy the game? Or that I need an exact 50/50 split? I, as well as multiple other women I know, wish for more female Killers, as there are significantly fewer of them than there are male Killers. That's all. I don't see why so many people are having an issue with this. I guess maybe cishet men don't understand what it's like to be underrepresented in media?
If you enjoy the game then what's the problem? If you're not asking for an exact 50/50 split, then again, what's the problem? The list of killers isn't going to get shorter, only longer, and you don't know what gender the future killers will be. You're just needlessly whining.
Also, cishet men? You're berating sexuality now, as well as gender? You're either a troll or an actual sexist. Either one wouldn't surprise me.

Because, as I stated, there's a huge gap in the amount of female vs male Killers. People in this forum complain about far less important things.
So what if there's a huge gap? There are still female killers, most of which are most powerful killers (Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Twins, Huntress). If you just want a 50/50 split of male and female killers then I doubt you really care about the game itself. If gender matters that much that you can't enjoy the game, this game may just not be for you.
-
@steponmeadiris said:

Because I am female and I prefer to play as female Killers.
And there are female killers and the devs never said they were going to stop making new female killers. So, what's the point of this thread?
-
@steponmeadiris said:
Right now, there are 27 Survivors and 25 Killers.
Out of the Survivors, 13 are male, and 14 are female. Fair enough.
When it comes to the Killers, 16 are male, and only 6 are female. (I'm not counting Demogorgon since it has no gender, neither Legion nor Twins since they are multiple people with a 1:1 gender ratio.)
The last three Killers have been male. Then we got The Twins, technically a duo of both. Before that, we got 5 male Killers (+ the Demogorgon) in a row.
There are nearly 3 times as many male Killers as there are female ones. I'm not saying it needs to be completely even absolutely all the time, but 16:6 is a HUGE difference. Is it really that difficult for a professional game dev team to design a female character without making her a pretty little murder victim? Are all the Killers gonna keep being some tall (usually) white guy with a mediocre power and a boring backstory? If I wanted to watch women get brutally killed by men, I'd just turn on the news.
Seriously. If the next chapter turns out to be another male Killer + female Survivor duo, I'm gonna be both disappointed and unsurprised.
Why do you care so much about the killer's gender?

Is it just me or is it incredible hard to find the box as the killer since everything else has the same colour. Could killers get like a aura around it so we can find the box and cluadette in these dark maps
Use Hoarder so you're alerted to a survivor picking it up. It's helped me many times. And if you're able, you can send a chain from a distance to stop them from solving it, buying you more time to wrest it from their grasp.

What I'm saying is that the game itself puts Killers in a very power position while playing the game. Most of the game mechanics lean more to the killers favour. Like slugging when no saviour has picked a recovery perk, and all the other things I've listed.
Should the killer NOT be in the power position?
-
So... what's the problem, exactly? You're too good at killer? Other killers trying to win?
-
@Ouro said:
will they ever implement some type of system where killers who facecamp with Bubba or any killer, dont get points and we dont get de-pipped?
Why punish killers for 'killing'? Face camp comes with its own cons, but killers shouldn't be forced not to do it if they want to.

@ezmindgames said:
Its not even that its overpowered its just simply annoying just like Decisive, and its an easy 2 hooks before 1 gen pops if the killer is actually good. Doesnt help that nearly every game i see these 2 perks
2 hooks before 1 gen pops? You must not play in the higher MMR.

@Sluzzy said:
In the last 10 matches, I’ve seen nothing but Ruin and usually Undying too. Not to mention a dramatic increase in tunneling and slugging. The killers all won and that’s very bad balance.
For how difficult it is for survivors to increase their MMRs, the data should show an overabundance of killers using Ruin, Undying, and other slowdown perks that is artificially increasing MMRs of killers. Survivor MMR is not taking this into account, every match is still no chance of survival. This is why there are so many killers with high MMRs and hardly any survivors except for SWF that is able to somehow do the hard to do gens. These perks are not fun to verse every single game and I’m looking for a discussion from the devs on addressing this problem. It has to be acknowledged.
Sounds like your beef is with those two perks, not with killers.

@latinfla4 said:
To win necessarily?
On killer I feel I need at least one gen regression perk regardless of the build.
As survivor I feel I need to use an exhaustion perk regardless of the build
As killer, I feel pressured to use gen slow down. When i don't use gen slow down perks, I get a match where it's just survivors slamming gens and leaving. I've been trying to use builds without gen slow down, because survivors don't like gen slow down perks, but then what am I left with? Having to slug, tunnel, or camp. It sucks, because it takes creativity away from trying new builds, since games simply don't last long enough on their own.
As survivor, I never felt the need for any specific perks. Some of the most fun I've had as survivor is going in with no perks and managing to escape. It's a thrill. But, I do love bringing bond/open handed.
-
@KweenPlease said:
It's the only objective and priority unless you are running a hex.
The objective of the game is " do gens as much and as fast as you can before killer chases you off because you've got limited chances / hooks. "
With it being the ONLY thing to do, are survivors just supposed to stand or walk around for 3 minutes after every gen? Like what the heck do you want? Make it make sense.
Anyway SBMM should put you with people who you should be able to handle who are on your level once everyone is leveled out where they should be. Yet everyone wants to complain about something that is literally helping game health.
Sounds like you don't truly understand the argument.

@Desh said:
I didn't realize MMR was activated until I saw it in the Forums last night and I've been playing for a bit. I assumed it happened when the viewing of players ranks was disabled. Here's my experience so far in the dozens of matches I played since it was switched on.
My games are definitely a little bit easier now based on the string of victories so far with no losses (that being consistent 3-4k's). I don't have to tear my hair out with gen-rushers, I don't have to sweat (As much) in chases when dealing with SWF groups rocking all the same Meta perks with tool boxes/flash lights. Their skill level is on par with mine (for the most part). With that being said, I HAVE had a Survivor or 2 in some of my matches where I'm chasing them and you can easily tell "You shouldn't be up against me, you're still wet behind the ears".
Now onto the other posts I'm seeing, it seems that a lot of the complaints is that it's gotten harder for players doing the MMR now. If we ignore the bits that run into hackers (I ran into them too, many times before MMR became a thing. I actually haven't ran into one so far that I know of sine it was switched on), it seems you guys are getting frustrated that you're finally going up against competent Survivors. And by my interpretation, you were voluntarily choosing to stay in the lower ranks to "casually play" with Survivors who were not on your skill level. This was the whole reason MMR became a thing, so that very skilled players don't go against not so skilled players.
If your complaint is "I'm not getting 4k's as easily now and now I have to 'sweat' to win", cool story bro. You're right where you're supposed to be. Matches shouldn't be a walk in the park for you as a Survivor or Killer where you can just casually do Gens or Chases with no effort or casually hooking Survivors left and right before the first or second gen pops.
What rank are you?

I don't mind going against a Blight but going against the same build over and over again is just boring. He's the only killer I face who has the same setup every single time.
I get that the build is efficient but you do not have to run it EVERY SINGLE GAME. Even Spirit players have more variety.
What variety are people expecting Blights to run?
-
I genuinely hope they fix Claire's face someday. Until then, though, I'm just not going to buy that skin. Which sucks, because I was going to, but goddamn... she an ugg.
-
I heard a pretty good argument about this from a youtuber. That if it's fair for Survivors to have exhaustion perks throughout the entirety of the match, why is it not fair for killers to have NOED at the end of the match, if it even activates at all.
-
@WexlerWendigo said:
Blight actually has a very cool game mechanic, and has decent interaction in chase. However, I hate going against this killer because literally every Blight uses the same build.
Ruin + Undying + Tinkerer + BBQ/Devour rinse and repeat on every Blight. No other killer has such predictable perks when you load into a game with them. I get that against SWF it’s fair game, but against solo survivors, this is literally DBD on easy mode. Especially when you factor in Blight’s absurd recharge rates with his add ons, it leaves very little room for error, and using this combo turns him from a fairly challenging killer to use, to one of the easiest in the game. It just makes facing blight really dull, as you know exactly what you’re getting into.
I can’t be the only one who despises going against Blight for the aforementioned reasons.
Until the game is balanced enough to where I don't feel the need to have to run Ruin/Undying + tinkerer +BBQ I'll continue to use them on Blight. What would be the point in doing otherwise?

It's my impartial point of view tho.

Change my mind.
A Perk with no CD that alerts the killer of the gen being progressed and removes their terror radius.
The perk does not stop a gen from being completed. The killer actually has to go to the gen to chase survivors off of it, it doesn't automatically incapacitate survivors. Not only that, but the killer can't be at all gens at once, making splitting up still beneficial to survivors. Heck, even grouping up can make the gen be repaired before the killer can even get to it.
It is not overpowered.

Oh really? I didn't see the distinction being made. Most of the complaints don't say "SWF SHOULD BE REMOVED OR NERFED (except for the nice ones)!!!!!!"
Those posts usually go into detail about their complaints with SWF involving imbalance and their frustrations with survivors on comms. What reason would they have to mention the nice players when they're addressing issues that negatively affect the killer side? You should know by now what the issue with SWF is and why it is bashed on constantly. You even mentioned yourself about swat squads being dreadful.
-
@GrimmGaliard said:
There are quite a few of you who, thankfully, know that swf isn't always the real problem. Of course the "swat squads" or whatever term people call them are the worst and most dreadful of all survs.
But anyone else just play around with their friend(s)? Sitting in a corner, chucking a pebble at them so you can laugh as they take off running and swear revenge? Hook diving because "Nooo! Matt has been killed two games in a row, I will not let there be a third time!" Then both of you get hooked and he calls you a tosser? Or something.
It feels like every day, someone is trying to neuter the ability to just chill with your mates. Solo queue just feels so tedious and tense in comparison, and I don't think I'd play the game much longer if that's all it offered me.
No one's complaining about nice SWF players.

As it stands the 30 seconds seems way to short to ever make use of on purpose
I've made use of it via hit and run. Once someone's injured I drop chase and can sneak up on survivors working on gens without them knowing I'm coming, unless the map doesn't allow for stealth.
