    I'll just play tomorrow...

  • I love her character design. I think she looks very much like Jill should look in those graphics. I didn't like her personality at all in RE3R. If you played the original RE 1, RE 3 and even the RE 1 remake you can see that RE 3 remake Jill's personality is very different from her earlier self. She didn't seem afraid of Nemesis that much and her interactions with a lot of characters throughout the game and situations she was in didn't remind me of the Jill I know.

it's by far one of the worst screams of the game, it's so awful, it needs to be changed so bad

Its... its literally how she sounds in the remake as far as the tone of her voice goes. I think she sounds very unique. I'm just glad DBD characters don't have much personality expression outside interaction with objects and screams because Jill's personality in RE 3 remake totally sucks and isn't like her RE 1 or RE 3 original character at all.

If you use a key it screws over your teammates, that's how it should be. It should be a last ditch effort to stay alive, not a 4 man escape.

How would survivors like it if the killer had an add on that says 'when the hatch spawns, you can mori survivors'. It's exactly the same and survivor mains would be up in arms about it if this happened. Why should survivors get a 2, 3 or 4 man escape, if the games gone badly.

Survivors cry about, and try to nerf, no-ed but keys are exactly the same. They get to 2 gens but their team has been looping terribly and two are dead, no matter if it was fair play or tunneling. Why should the person without a key get to escape? If a killer plays badly survivors say no-ed rewarded the killers bad plays if he gets a sacrifice or 2. Keys do exactly that, reward survivors for having a bad match.

Why should the person without a key get to escape? Because they're a team and are trying to survive together. Also in the entirety I have played this game with nearly 1,400 hours played I think I have seen all 4 survivors escape by the hatch probably 5 times. Its usually just 1 or a couple when the odds have become very dire for the survivors and the only real chance they have is to find the hatch in time.

Seriously, every second or third game I have at least one person with a key. Sometimes multiple. They know there is nothing a Killer can do about keys now and they are abusing that fact. Something seriously needs to be done about this lickety-split.

This is certainly not the case for most people I assume. I have seen 1 key on my team in the past few weeks if I remember and I believe 1 was found in a match that we were able to use. Other than that keys feel like a rare use occasion for me. I'm probably going to go ahead and use up the keys I have while they're still worth using because I feel like with all the complaining about keys I see lately (which again I believe is not very substantive and just some killers getting super offended that a key was used against them) that the keys are going to get nerfed into dust and not even worth collecting from the blood web anymore. Hey lets not stop here. Lets remove all survivor perks and remove our ability to run too. Also lets just remove the escape capability for survivors and let the killers get 4k every game. I mean it is DEAD by Daylight right? ... :(

  • Crawling simulator isn't fun. Also its situational. I've been slugged with 5 gens up and only 1 other survivor alive. Not very fun... There are some situations where being left on the ground may work out to your advantage as a survivor but most often its usually just an annoying thing to have to go through.

  • I think DBD needs a non ranked mode where players don't give a crap about evaluating every part of the game on whats good in any particular situation and instead just care about playing a scary horror game.

  • I haven't played in a key in forever. I used to do it all the time because I found it to be a fun and risky way to play. Half the time I'd die before I even get to use it. In most situations there are going to be dead survivors before the key is even able to be used and if they're not, then the killer let all 5 gens get done in which case the survivors found the hatch before you did and also all realized someone had the key if they aren't swf. Keys are more conditional than people think. And again, its that one match that a survivor escapes with a key that offends killers the most and creates this narrative of keys are bad. Can survivors just play the game without everything being taken from us please?

  • @Dr_Trauts said:

all I'd do is slightly increase aura reading time for green keys, e.g. 20 seconds (from 10).

Make it so the purple key only allows one survivor to escape, and the hatch closes behind them (not causing EGC)

reduce red key aura reading from 30 to 6 or 7 seconds. make it so the hatch is only open for as many seconds of aura reading are remaining on the key, with a minimum of 1 second for it to open the hatch at all.

That way franklins work against it again, you can still get coordinated escapes for the achievement but theyll be less likely with purple keys essentially being a 1 person use.

Maybe change the addons to be a bit more adventurous? reduce the liklihood of getting keys in chests or make it so the hoarder perk restricts items found in chests to rare or lower. (that way ppl would actually run it with a real use instead of memes).

or maybe even make a new mechanic for the hatch to spawn rather than complete x generators. not sure what tho

EDIT: also make the unlock animation for the hatch like 5 seconds or something, and killers can grab them whilst in this animation.

EDIT 2: or the hatch disappears during EGC / after its been kicked closed

Yea I'd feel pretty bad for that last survivor who still needs to finish repairing 1-2 generators because someone with a purple key hatched out if this were the case.

keys are getting reworked, hopefully destroyed cause they alter the match like old moris did.

And if they are changed to do anything different than to allow survivors who meet the conditions required to use keys currently then I honestly think a lot of survivor mains will be moving on or playing the game a lot less. Keys are not a problem. Killers get all these anti gen perks and yet still complain about generators which are REQUIRED to allow keys the chance to even be used. Doors often spawn so close that if you're the last survivor there is no point in even trying to open the door let alone find the hatch which by the way is probably going to be closed the very moment it opens when the third survivor dies (which is complete and total BS by the way that they can even do that).

  • @Purgatorian said:

Make them use 5 charges to open hatch, full purple key, 5 seconds to open it. Only the person with the key can escape, no matter red or purple as red has more charges to it. Once the person has escaped the hatch closes but does not start end game collapse. The hatch can reopen as normal with last survivor.

Also you can't find them in chests anymore, if they keep this then the killer should be able to stumble upon a mori.

Thats one way to get people who play keys sabotaged and bullied in matches. No one would trust anyone with the key if this happened. I swear survivors escaping the trial is like the most offensive thing to people who play killer it feels like.

  • Every time I see people say the key should take a certain amount of time to unlock the hatch I just facepalm laugh at how bad of a suggestion that is. Do people not realize that killers find the hatch first before survivors do way more often? Do they not realize that all they'd have to do is proxy camp it while keeping an eye on the doors? I swear I honestly believe there are people that play this game that literally think survivors should never escape or have the absolute most difficult way in doing so.

Keys should not be nerfed. Keys are conditional. If you let survivors meet those conditions thats your fault and they deserve to use it.

  • I agree. When I asked my friends about it one day and they told me what happens when you do it I decided against it. I think I have upwards of 15 million points into Kate and about 2 million into Jill now. The losing everything part of it was just a big turn off for me when all I was going to get in return was blood on my characters and an icon above my head. I think if people want that it should be purchasable in the store for each character. If I could at least keep rank 1 of my perks then maybe I'd consider it. I just feel like there should be more incentive to do it.

  • I don't think I've seen more than 3 or 4 used in a single match so far. They are very conditional. Gen pressure prevents them from even being made. They have to be used at the right time or they don't even work. I feel like there are killer players right now that may have 1 match where the flashbangs are used effectively against them and then feel like its this huge problem that needs to be nerfed. No, it isn't. Survivors need good perks and we got those with Jill and Leon. They add a new level of interaction in the game than just making the usual things work differently. Just be aware they are part of the game now instead of calling for a perk nerf a week after they've been live.

  • The survivors had to all collectively repair generators up to 50% (given they all had rank 3 of the perk) which EARNED them the ability to use the flashbang 1 time each. This perk has VERY limited use per match and it takes up a perk slot. If 4 survivors get the flashbang and use it against you then they deserve to have that advantage in those moments. If you don't want them throwing flashbangs in your face all the time, apply more gen pressure. Survivors need things like this to have a fair chance to escape the killer and save their team mates.

i've read the entire thread, your reworks are just nerfs. Making him do something to power up to a one shot kill, and giving other status effects. That is a straight up nerf, all status effects are worse than "downed", downgrading his insta kills to broken or whatever isn't much of a rework. I have even replied to you in this thread about your "reworks", so i've pretty clearly been keeping up with it. The closest you ever got was saying "what if he didn't get to one shot but got more stuff to do" but the only time you've talked about "more stuff" it's applying debuffs with the chainsaw. Unless you are also removing the rev time or speeding him up instead of slowing him down while revving, "the same chainsaw attack as before but sometimes doesn't one shot down" is not a rework, it's a nerf, and it's a nerf to a killer who is already in fine. He's worse than a majority of killers you've mentioned being okay with, and one of your comparison points is "why does meyers have to work towards his instan down", A. Meyers gets stealth built in and faster vault speeds B. meyers is widely regarded as TRASH, he's consistently named one of the worst killers in the game.

At the very least the cannibal should not start with an instant down power. It is a VERY rare occasion I get a good match against this killer. I also don't consider my suggestions as nerfs because I personally do not believe he should have the instant down power to begin with. Again, this is my OPINION and feedback on this killer. I am quite certain that I am not the only person who plays survivor in this game who thinks this killer has too much power. I see the most disconnects and hook give ups against this killer than all of the others. Why? Are you just going to say its the survivor's fault for not playing better or will you realize that a lot of people that play this game are just trying to have fun and find this killer to be an extremely unfun one to play against?

As far as rework suggestions go, obviously the chainsaw is there to stay. How about this for an idea. What if the cannibal was able to take fuel from the generators to power his chainsaw and every time he does it the generator regresses or takes longer to repair? The cannibal can start with a full tank but will need to refuel the more he uses the chainsaw. That way the killer gains an extra way to apply gen pressure but also keeps the ability to use the chainsaw but at a consequence. You see that is my biggest problem with his power. Its the fact that he can use it the entire match. If at the very least he had to do something to be able to keep using it, but also gained an advantage against survivors by doing so, then I think that would be more fair than what he is able to do now. I personally do not like instant down abilities. I think they take away the fun of the game in many ways and just cause overall frustration.

you so far have not been asking for a rework, you are trying to make him strictly and SIGNIFICANTLY worse.

Actually I did suggest a rework a few times already in this thread. You said so far I haven't, which isn't true so you'd do well to at least be a little more informed before hitting that reply button.

They were iredecent for a reason. And it's not like there were used that often. Now there usless.

And yet before their change they were played all the time (killers that dump all their points into killers will have a lot of them) so they weren't that uncommon because of their rarity. The worst part though was working on a gen then looking up and seeing half your team dead already from the mori. I can't tell you how many matches this happened to me where the match felt like it just started and then suddenly everyone is dead from the red mori. They were too much. Their change was needed. They were basically another power for any killer to help end the match a lot sooner before the change. No offering should give them that much of an advantage.

    This is actually somewhat sickening.

One hit downs have been in the game since the beginning. There are always obvious tells and counters (except NOED). If you can't deal with that, just don't play the game. They've always been here, and always will be here. There is no changing that.

You waited at the gates instead of leaving like you should have, lacked the minimal situational awareness needed to realize that an obese 6' 8" man with a red spotlight coming out of his eyes and a heartbeat that can be heard from half a mile off was revving a chainsaw within six meters of you, and then blamed it on him?

And you knew it was Bubba. Unless, of course, the nearly map-wide chainsaw and pig noises somehow didn't tip you off, in which case your opinions on this topic are actually completely worthless.

I don't care what your intentions were, that was beyond stupid. That was the worst possible move you could've made. Almost no one would have done that. Saying that doing something that dumb when the risk was that high, and then failing to own up to it in the slightest, and then blaming the killer is the most vomit inducing entitlement I've actually encountered.

The fact that you don't even bring a valid complaint that doesn't apply to six different killers that almost no one says are overpowered (and in fact, several of them are underpowered) just makes this that much worse.

I'm not even gonna discuss the hypocrisy of the "killers just feel overly rewarded for not doing so much" line. The amount of second chances that require little to no input survivors have is insane, and there's no point in saying otherwise. When the killer relies on survivor mistakes to succeed, second chances are overwhelmingly powerful. Getting them almost for free with no effort is ludicrous.

Just give up. He's a mid-tier killer. He's the same tier as Doc on most lists.

If you think my opinion on this is entitlement then me saying several times here before that some of my most fun matches are ones I die in is kind of going against the supposed entitlement attitude you think I have. I don't have a problem with dying in this game. The happenings of the match aside I still think his power is too much. And why wouldn't a rework of the character be a good thing? What if he was given 2-3 different things he could do that don't involve instant downs? A killer who's only ability is 1 thing that does the same thing doesn't sound all that interesting to me. I think Nemesis is cool for example because he gains more power with the more he interacts with the survivors and environment.

  • @tolore said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2303564#Comment_2303564

well again, you are massively misrepresenting what happened. He did not press a button and kill you. Hi held a button for several seconds, moved slow for those seconds, and made a ton of noise giving you warning. I agree that what cannibal did probably didn't take a lot of skill, but it sounds like you messed up pretty bad, or the game bugged in someway(no terror radius and no chainsaw sound sounds like a bug or an oblivious survivor).

How many seconds does it honestly take for cannibal to use the chainsaw because I have been in several situations where it felt like he downed me almost immediately after raising the chainsaw up. Often times it feels like it happens way too fast. I'm assuming there are addons that make it go faster?

  • @Beelzeboop said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2301221#Comment_2301221

If you pull a risky tactic, you can be severely punished for it.

That is literally what a risk is.

If you do something so insipid, you need to accept the consequences for your actions and learn from your mistakes.

You screwed up. Bad. You can't just blame it on the killer, who can only win by punishing you for your mistakes.

Play exclusively Bubba at higher ranks for a while. He's easy, but no where near as strong as you suggest.

Stepping right outside the exit gate to evaluate a situation is not "screwing up bad." The gate was open and I was in full health. No killer, unless NOED/haunted ground/devour hope is active or an earned power, should have the ability to instantly down a survivor. Its not all about the killers. If a survivor makes it through the match and is able to get the exit gate open with the killer nowhere in sight then the killer should not have so much power that they can negate the value of all of that by simply pressing a button for a power that is default for you because they're now at the exit gate too. Its too much reward for too little effort. What are killers going to want next? Exposed status for all survivors in the exit gate? Maybe this would have made more sense if I actually made it to the hooks and attempted a save. If I die there then of course that is my fault and it was a risk I took to try to save my team. That actually happens a lot to me but at least I tried. In this case though it didn't make sense to me to lose it all so quickly just for being right outside the exit gate and an instant down power killer was there. Sometimes killers just feel overly rewarded for not doing so much. I know a lot of that is situational but sometimes it feels unreasonable to me.

U totally just got destroyed by a bubba. Bubba is balanced hes fine and I hope nothing changes about him his gen pressure is also pretty bad

Running to the exit gate and pressing your ability button isn't getting "destroyed." There was no outplayed loop. There was no mind game win. There was no read of decision making. It was just them checking the exit gate and pressing a button that takes me from full health state to dying state. No killer should have this much power the entire match. The things some people consider balanced here are very strange to me.

  • Well your previous reply implied you didn't because you assumed I felt entitled to something so seeing your ignorance on the matter wasn't hard to do.

  • @yeet said:

you're not entitled to 4 man escapes every game

Never said I was. This post also isn't about feeling like more people should've escaped. Its my feedback on the cannibal's power and how I believe it is too powerful to play against in most situations. Try reading more than the subject line next time so you can give a more informed and substantive reply to what I'm talking about.

  • @Avignon said:

It's a one shot killer.... do you also go for saves vs an active Noed then complain about it?

Honestly i kinda wish deep down all killers got noed if the game is in the ECG and within like 10m of a hook for 30+ seconds. The situations where you get a hook on 5 gens and 3 survivors just swarm and body block is.... wrong somehow. Technically speaking it's your "mistake" (even if trying to be nice and go for 12 hooks instead of 6 and 6 but that's another conversation) but yeah the fact the survivors give 0 ######### about bombing a hook in front of any M1 killer (and even most insta downers) is.... wrong in this "horror" (bhvr's words not mine) game.

Like don't get me wrong i'm no potato killer i can identify WHY i could into a situation like that, hell sometimes i'll do it intentionally. During the game i'll take long chases on pourpouse just because i like how the survivor is running or something, it's fun, for both sides i'd imagine, the plays, the mindgames etc. but come endgame there's pretty much NOTHING you can do unless you're playing a onshotter.

*angrilly waves wifle bat in an old gravilly mans voice* Dammit you kids, i'm a killeeeeeeer!!! Be scared!!!

No. I try to find the totem or distract the killer if someone else is there to help make a save. Noed saves are very tricky. I've had some work out well and some go very wrong. They're always intense plays and you never know what will happen. Personally though I think noed is one of those reward the killer even though they played poorly perks. I can try to find all of the totems every match, but often when I do that the killer gets ahead on hooks because I have spent too much time trying to find totems. Now I just cleanse them if I find them and take the chance at the end game. Noed can be stopped. The cannibal's power remains until the match is over.

A balanced killer sure as hell ain't Nemesis. He's a worse doctor.

No he's not an instant down killer. He's actually balanced. What do you consider balanced? Instant downs? Impossible survivor odds? Its all perspective and opinion in this game. Nemesis is fun to play against. I actually look forward to more matches against him. That is a good thing for me. I don't know about you. If you're going to base Nemesis' worth in the game on my opinion of him then maybe you need to worry about yourself instead of caring about what I have to say about it.

You also think Bubba is op so that probably means Nemesis is too weak

I'm not alone in that opinion about the cannibal. The problem is too many killer mains have gotten used to instant down killers that they don't know what a balanced killer feels like anymore.

  • The tentacle strike is a ranged attack. Like the plague, you have to build up its power. I think Nemesis is very balanced right now.

  • @Adjatha said:

Oh man, that's EVEN WORSE. If you are standing in the exit gate just WAITING and the killer punishes you for not leaving, you deserve everything you get. I hate when survivors refuse to leave and just hang out in their nice, (normally) safe little exit gate and just bide their time with (normally) no risk whatsoever. It's like, just LEAVE and you would've been perfectly fine.

And you want to nerf Cannibal because he punished you for doing that dumb thing survivors constantly do? I wish more killers could just obliterate survivors who hang out in that little booth instead of just leaving and getting the game over with.

I wasn't hiding in the exit gate. I was outside the exit gate by a wall. Get it right next time before replying to my post will ya? Some survivors actually do try to save their team in the end game even against all odds.

  • @Adjatha said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2299639#Comment_2299639

Sorry, are you complaining that the killer is able to down you when you've already finished all 5 generators and are in the middle of the 20 second gate opening sequence? Have you considered laying low to let the killer patrol away before opening the gate? It's 20 seconds. Also, ANY killer can 1-shot down you at that point with No One Escapes Death.

Apparently you didn't read my OP. Assumptions get you nowhere but in the wrong usually. The gate was open. I was right in front of it to the left by a wall. The cannibal came in from the right and I ran back to the exit gate as soon as I heard the terror radius. He literally just lifts the chainsaw up and downed me right after. Full health state too as if that mattered though. The whole thing felt like it happened in less than 3 seconds. I hate leaving survivors behind but simply me thinking about if the situation could possibly end well ended up with everyone dying. No hex totem needed. No special addon required. No power build up. Just run to exit gate and press ability button. There is hardly any safe spot to be in the exit gate with a chainsaw ready cannibal there.

  • @tolore said:

It sounds like you have a pretty different experience with cannibal, his one shot down is threatening but it has lots of counters, and his lack of strengths other than the one shot down really puts him in a pretty middling spot. Like I said, I think it's going to be hard to win a lot of converts if your conceit is that cannibal is actually too strong overall. windows and pallets stop hjim/slow him down, he has no built in tracking, has no built in map mobility, has no built in slow down, his one shot down still requires him to essentially win a chase + a little extra for rev time/slow down. He's really not that strong at all. not bad for sure, but not particularly amazing.

A permanent instant down power paired with the right 4 perks will basically make cannibal unstoppable in my opinion. Maybe the best survivors out there can handle it, but most survivors aren't in that kind of skill level. The highest rank I've been is 4 and there are still a lot of situations with certain killers I really just don't know what to do but run for it.

  • @BenihimeWrath said:

You... You know you can run him into literally anything on the map and cause him to tantrum right? Like all of these people are saying to use windows and junk, but in reality the true counter to Bubba is tight looping. Bubba, like a other of other killers, is meant to be good at 'contesting' that is to say, threatening multiple survivors at once. Other killers that are good at contesting are ones like Oni, Hag or Huntress. This is not the same as being good in the 1v1 chase, even though they appear similar.

If you, as a player, decide not to deal with the contesting power of a killer then that is your prerogative to adapt your playstyle. Ultimately its your entitlement, believing that you are OWED the ability to save all your teammates that causes you to be upset about this. The unfortunate matter is that in the scenario you described there is no other objective to defend but the hook.

Furthermore, your argument about the one button goes to the ad absurdum as nearly every power in the game takes management by 1 button to deal with it, and comparatively everything that survivors do only takes one button. So by your own logic, everything survivors can do should be nerfed because it only takes 1 button to do it.

And there it is... the same old "entitlement" argument being thrown at me for leaving feedback about a killer based on my experience with them. I didn't say I deserved to save them no matter what and neither did I feel entitled to win. The killer's power strongly discourages me from even wanting to attempt a save in that situation. When a "why bother" feeling comes across in a match that to me is a sign that the killer has too much of an advantage over me. I simply think the cannibal needs a rework. He can be redesigned to make him have a more interesting ability other than press button and W towards survivor to down them.

As far as your "every power takes 1 button to use" argument goes... theirs don't instant down you like cannibal's does in most situations. They offer more mechanics that don't involve simply instant downing survivors. Nemesis for example builds up his power to make his tentacle do more than just infect you. All of the other powers seem way more balanced than an instant down. Please realize how devastating an instant down ability is for survivors. We only get 2 hooks to stay in the game. If that happens in half or less of the time it normally would against any other killer then the match will end a lot faster and be much more frustrating to play.

Wraith: Can traverse the map undetected at rapid speeds. His ability allows frequent free hits, and demands people heal or they are one shot downable at any point.

Doctor: Built in game slow down, anti-loop, and detection means that, unlike Bubba, you cannot hide from him, and even if you do, he is better at ending loops than Bubba is, because he does not care about pallets OR vaults. In fact, downed pallets help him.

Freddy Krueger: Massive map mobility and the ability to stop vaults.

Clown: Is Weak #########, and arguably the second worst killer in the game.

Legion: Effectively has a one shot down, because most people will not heal against them. Increased speed. When you spend all of your time injured, you are technically always one shot down.

Plague: As above, except if you heal, she gets ranged AoE attacks.

Demogorgon: Massive map mobility, detection, and increased looping abilities due to much longer attack range

Pyramidhead: Can negate powerful perks, doesn't need to waste time hooking, and can attack THROUGH WALLS.

Blight: Highest mobility in the game. Once mastered, one of the easiest killers to get hits on, just below Nurse. Even chain hits are not difficult.

Twins: Can be in two places at once, including guarding hooks from across the map. Ability to chain downs. Extremely large map presence.

Nemesis: Increased detection/map presence due to zombies. Ability to hit over objects.

So, in summary, here are the abilities the M1 Killers have that Bubba does not instead of a One Hit Down:

    Massive Map Mobility: 5

    Increased Speed In Chase: 4

Ability to get 'free' or ranged hits: 5

Ability to get Anti-Loop Hits: 11 (That is all of them)

    Slow Down: 2

    Increased Map Awareness: 7

None of these things does Bubba have. You can consider his ability to break pallets faster (Shared with 3 of the above) to be Anti-loop, but it really isn't.

A lot of those killers just don't feel that threatening to me, but it also depends on who is playing them. Not that they aren't powerful enough to cause a threat but they just feel much more manageable than a killer with a permanent instant down. I'd take any of them over cannibal though. Even the shape has to play an addon to make his power do that and still has to work for it during the match. I just feel like a killer's power being a permanent instant down is too much. I love playing against the Shape for example because it adds an element of fear when his instant down power does activate and also the fact he is silent for much of the match. The moment I find out I am playing against the cannibal I just have that instant huge sigh and just want the match to be over with. Why would it be so bad if cannibal got reworked and they actually gave him more things he can do while making his instant down something he works up to? A killer who's power is simply press button and instantly down anyone in front of him doesn't make for a fun or exciting experience for the survivor. Its just annoying and frustrating and doesn't give me much to look forward to in the match but quick death in many situations.

yeah but you are strictly making cannibal worse by making him have to earn the right to on ehit kill, even if you make the chainsaw do broken status effect or something when it's not one hit killing. You are going to have a hard time getting support for making a killer strictly worse outside of like, spirit and nurse.

for game design if something is not too strong, but is unfun to fight against, you have to suggest a change that makes the counterplay more fun without weakening the target, which usually means adding and subtracting things. not just subtracting.

Then why doesn't every M1 killer have a permanent instant down power?

Just because a killer is unfun to some doesn't mean they should be straight up nerfed. That's like saying Huntress should be nerfed because her latency issues suck. M1 killers like Pig or Myers are weak because that is pretty much all they have to get survivors, the m1 ability. This allows them to be looped forever because their powers don't do much in a chase or outside of a chase either. The idea you pitched would kill bubba and also doesn't really make sense. You m1 a survivor and gain, idk lets say 2 charges for his chainsaw. Well now you have to catch up to that survivor you just hit in order to use your chainsaw, but at that point do you even need to if they are injured?

He also would be weak in a chase if he couldn't threaten survivors with his chainsaw to get the pallet.

He does not need a nerf.

Then suddenly you see 2 survivors on a gen during that chase and now have an instant down chainsaw to use. See the points I'm making here? This game is situational. My point with cannibal is OVERALL his power is too strong. He has it the entire match. You're crap out of luck if you don't have a window or pallet. Too many times does it feel hopeless and pointless to even try to run from cannibal. Why does the shape have to earn his instant down and be nothing but an M1 killer inbetween but cannibal doesn't? That doesn't seem fair. Besides that, my opinion on cannibal having too much power remains. I have always felt this way about cannibal since I started playing and I don't see it changing until this killer is changed to be more fair to play against.

YOU don't have to hold M1 for 80 seconds. FOUR of you have to hold M1 for 80 seconds. A commonly forgotten thing.

You missed the point, as is common when survivors try to give feedback here.

So what compensation will he get for earning this one shot down. As has been said in this thread, he's already largely considered a middling killer. If you want to make his one hits significantly worse he's going to need some other buffs to keep him at all competitive. Unless you think he's actually secretly top tier, in which case i think we need more evidence that that's actually true.

The ability to instantly down survivors is what he will get. Cannibal should have to earn his instant down power. So many killers have to play addons or work up to gain more power in a match but cannibal just starts with it. It isn't fair and I don't say that lightly. As I said before, it feels like he gains too much for little effort. Also I said above that they can add extra effects for chainsaw hits without the instant down to give a reason to use it until the chainsaw can instant down. From a survivor perspective, being knocked down fast isn't fun and unless you have a really good place to utilize the cannibal is probably going to down you very fast.

Alright then, but what do you even do? This killer was weaksauce before, how do you nerf this guy without killing him? Nerfing the insta down potential would kill him, and you really can't do anything else because his design is too simple and he is licensed.

Other killers have strong conditions for having similarly powerful effects as well. Take Blight for example, he just has his power readily available for free all the time and is far stronger than Bubba, but even he can still be dealt with.

Saying things like "This killer needs a nerf" when there are several reasons that said killer should not be nerfed and is in a good spot is pretty repetitive especially on these forums.

When a killer is not fun to play against the reasons why people say he isn't fun to play against should be considered. As far as what to do to change him, how about make his power conditional? Let him earn the instant down power instead of always have it. How about for every successful M1 hit he gains meter progress to gain the instant down power on his chainsaw for a duration? If he downs a survivor or goes too long without using it the power resets and he is able to gain it again. When he doesn't have the instant down power allow the chainsaw to apply other effects like deep wounds or broken for a duration.

Solely on survivor I assume? I don't think there is hope for you if you still can't deal with Bubba with that amount of time spent on this game. All I can say is, quite literally, git gud. Bubba is fine and definitely manageable by people who know what they are doing.

The point I made in my OP is that cannibal's power is too strong with no conditions for having the instant down effect. Its like his power is basically noed that you can't get rid of. I've ran cannibal's before and have even escaped against him but my overall experience with this killer is a very negative one where I feel overwhelmed in comparison to what they can do to me and what I can do back to avoid them. Cannibal is manageable in certain spots on any given map, not just by people who " know what they are doing." Thats a rather insulting thing to say. Its one thing to gain an instant down power at certain points in the match but to always have it from start to finish is very unfair in my opinion.

Use windows. He can't do crap if you're bouncing around vault points.

There are no windows in exit gates which is where my latest terrible experience with cannibal happened. I also feel like I have to always be near windows or pallets playing against cannibal or there is no chance for me to escape. At the very least cannibal should have to build up to an instant down power and it should be temporary each time. I don't think that is being unreasonable or unfair.

  • @Kees_T said:

    Lol git gud.

Every Killer has their niches where they're strong and weak. Bubba/Billy/Oni/Any instadown Killer is strong against Survivor in deadzones with no defense, that's just how it is.

Hillbilly has to cancel a dash at the right time and can't move around like cannibal can with his instant down. Oni has to collect blood to build up to his power which only lasts for a short duration. Ghost face has to build up his power being in your line of sight to gain a TEMPORARY instant down effect on you. The shape has to build a meter to also gain a temporary instant down ability. What does cannibal have to do? Press a button and be close to you. Yea... very fair.

  • @CrowVortex said:

No different than a survivor holding down m1 to win a game, if you're gonna argue about button inputs.

I have to hold down M1 for 80 seconds to complete 1 generator. It takes 5 to power the exit gates. The cannibal has to press 1 button and can down multiple survivors in mere seconds. If other killers have to progress their power to make it stronger during the match then why doesn't cannibal? The plague for example has to collect infected water fountains for her vomit to damage survivors. Cannibal starts the trial with an instant down power with no other conditions.

Please refrain from posting anything about the balance in this game until you clock 1000 hours on it.

1,329 hours played. My feedback on this isn't based on a 1 match experience. This kind of thing has happened to me more times than I can remember and every single time its the same frustration.

  • The fact we can even earn them and buy characters and cosmetics that are also sold for auric cells which costs real money to purchase is a very fair thing. They are after all trying to make money off the game they made and they didn't have to offer us a way to buy most of the things in this game just by playing it. Just keep playing the game and you'll start seeing those shards add up faster than you think. Do your daily survivor/killer match for bonus experience and just try to have fun and not think about the grind.

I personally find it very insulting and quite obnoxious when survivors hang out in the gate area taunting the killer. Killers get provoked to attack and even put them in the dying state even though they get to escape anyway. That's not particularly fair for the killer. The taunting is very poor sportsmanship and if survivors are going to let themselves be attacked, they shouldn't be allowed to escape in the dying state.

Please fix this. It would make it more fair for the killer and it would deter survivors from taunting the killer in the exit gate area when there is no benefit to the killer at all if they just get to escape regardless of any action the killer takes.

Ok, but I want to see penalties for killers hitting me on the hook. Fair enough? The toxic crap in this game needs to stop.

  • Well it was Kate but now that the Resident Evil chapter is live its definitely Jill now. I've been a huge Jill fan for 20 years so to see her make it into DBD was the most exciting thing ever for me. I have millions of points into Kate though and she's still my favorite DBD original character so I will always play Kate. Now that Jill is my new main I guess my name should be JillMain86. 😊

  • Well, for a survivor a "win" is simply escaping. If you're SWF the more that escape the better that win is. More importantly though, for me a win is simply having a fun and fair match. As long as I had fun that is a win for me. Some of my most fun matches are ones I die in but the overall experience of the match was fun.

  • Its probably not bannable but this is why I think there should be a block / avoid killer option in game because I definitely would put you on it. There was no reason for you to do this other than to be a jerk to them unless they were in some way mean to you but even still don't make the match go on longer than it needs to. Just end it or let them go and move on.

  • Nemesis feels more balanced than many other killers which may be the reason why some killer mains don't like him as much. He's not your typical instant down end the match fast killer. You actually have to play him and gain power. Besides all that, he's Nemesis. Playing against him is super fun (as long as its not a toxic person controlling it).

Trust me, this map better stay off. I played it a lot both as a survivor and as a killer in the PTB and for both of them it seems like a sh*t map.

Its the RPD from RE 2. Many people are going to play it for that reason alone. I'm saving up RPD map offerings now so I can have as many as possible when it comes back online.
