There's an MMR imbalance in DBD due to more survivors being in the game, so usually lower MMR killers get matched with higher MMR survivors. But of course, sometimes a higher MMR killer can get matched with lower MMR survivors.
But with that being said, your rank has nothing to do with your MMR. Its just a reward system for pipping up, and you get a BP reward according to what your grade was by the 13th of each month.
But yeah, I'd say the best way to explain your situation is due to a lack of killers.
Have you been playing during hours where there's bonus BP for killers?
Yea, but I'd assume my MMR changes similarly to how my rank does considering I need pips to rank up and pips require a lot of work the higher you get. So I'd make the same argument in that my current MMR, whatever it is, doesn't feel consistent with a lot of the survivors and killers I get in my matches lately. I mostly play DBD very late at night and sometimes during the day but I don't really remember how much different the matches are during the day. I just had 2 matches in a row where it felt like there was no chance at winning. Only 1 gen done each match and killer 4ks without breaking a sweat.
-
I would like to see the city area surrounding RPD turned into a map. The city area where Jill's apartment in RE 3 Remake is would also be really cool as a map. It would be neat to play on a map where all of the chaos from the game is playing out on the outside of the map while you're playing your match. The village from RE 4 would also be a cool map.
-
I can understand some situations for 99 gens and chests, but not doors. Its far better to open the door completely than to get there and lose the save because the door was closed. Maybe this is better managed in SWF, but solo que you're taking a big risk doing this. Opening the door still gives you plenty of time to go in for saves.

While this thread has been disheartening . I'm also glad to see there are some decent people in this community that have replied in this thread. I received a warning for the mods for calling people bigots when it was a clear case of them being so. I really thought BHVR was for inclusion and against bigotry. Yet to be punished for standing up to this and to be "told off" has made me realize that I'm done with this forum.
I wish everyone the best and peace out.
If you think someone said something that goes against the forum rules just flag it. There's no need to name call even if you feel you're right and especially not over someone's personal reason as to why they do or don't play any given character. Name calling devolves into fighting rather than continuing a conversation. Its completely unfair to question their stance on inclusion over this.
-
As much as I'd like to see FNAF I would like to see Slenderman even more come to DBD. They could make it so where instead of Slender moving around he can appear at random locations and chase you with his tentacles. You also gotta have the random screen static flickers when he's nearby. Oh the possibilities.
-
Probably Trickster. I personally like the Dredge most out of all the recently released non licensed killers.
-
You could wait for the next summer themed outfits to come out and see what they decide to do with this one. If there is a time where this outfit would possibly go to shards it may be when the next summer collection comes out. Just my guess.
-
Dredge is a great example of focusing on the horror aspect of the game. Its a very nightmarish design with abilities that reflect the theme of the character. They have more creative freedom when designing the killers because they don't always have to be human. That being said its not some unheard of thing if they want to focus on other areas of killer designs such as attractiveness. People seem to talk about the beauty of the skull merchant a lot and you can't even see her face so they did something right there with making that part of the character appealing to people. I wouldn't think too much about this as far as the killers go because if they made something like the dredge which was an original design I'm sure we'll get more characters like this in the future.
-
Something spooky like skeletons with cosmetics from other survivors on them. I think it would make the game a little scarier.
-
I don't understand this hostile attitude people get towards the devs over cosmetics. They don't hate Elodie. They created her. Its just insulting to resort to this kind of rhetoric towards them over something like this. I'm sure the community cosmetic will come to the store soon enough.
-
It was probably the release of the first Resident Evil chapter. I was so happy when that happened and so many people were playing. I spent all my BPs trying to get as many RPD map offerings as I could. 😁 It was a particularly exciting time for DBD.
-
Keep in mind that DBD is a live service game which costs them a lot of money to keep going so the fact we can even earn cosmetics and even original characters just by playing the game is a good thing. Its perfectly fine how they are selling the skins. What matters is how good those skins are. I don't mind paying $5-10 for skins if I like them. In fact I think their current monetization encourages them to make better content that people are more willing to spend money on. I was actually surprised that they switched to the gradual progression from auric to iridescent shards. They didn't have to do that so the fact we can earn most of the content just by playing the game is really cool.

I always thought that when there are 2 survivors left that if the killer tries to slug for the 4k the survivors can pick themselves up
I definitely think under certain situations there should be a shift in the match on what the survivors and the killer can do. Not so much of a shift that it gives either side a big advantage but rather it makes it feel like you're still able to do something without having to overstress yourself. If 2 survivors are left and 3+ gens are left to do then the last 2 survivors don't have much incentive to put forth the extra work required for the same outcome had all the survivors made it and just a few more BPs. I think a lot of people just give up in those situations, but I also see situations where they try. I'll keep trying in that situation but it hardly ever works out in my favor. It usually ends with giving the last survivor the hatch chance, or the last survivor completely forgetting the hatch exists and goes for a save in a hopeless situation.

It also largely removes any real threat from being downed and the need for survivors to work as a team.
I don't need to come rescue you because if the killer doesn't immediately pick you up then you can pick yourself up.
Meaning I can just sit on this gen.
Survivor - Survivor interaction is just a vital to the game as killer- survivor interaction.
You could also just bring unbreakable, the tool designed to do what you are describing pick yourself up. That's what perks are for they augment gameplay in specific scenarios. Why have perks at all if we are just going to override any in game effects with base kits.
There would definitely need to be some conditions to it. It would have to work different than unbreakable. Maybe instead of being able to recover fully right away you can get a second recovery bar that activates say 10 seconds after the first one has been filled. At that point it would be clear the killer is slugging but also give the survivors and killers time to change up their strategy. The killer would then have to pick you up or lose the hook opportunity.
-
I think if the killer leaves you on the ground for too long you should be able to self recover without unbreakable. It would prevent situations like this from happening.

The thing is companies know not every "product" they produce is not going to be equal in sales. It's not like they go "Oh, well this isn't selling as well as our top seller, might as well scrap it". If they still see sales through that product they might keep it around to appeal to that different market that seems to like said product.
Just because you don't see Haddie a lot doesn't mean they still don't do well with her sales (and her skins). Not to mention, who knows maybe in your region Haddie isn't as popular but in other regions of the world she sells well. Just because you personally don't see her a lot doesn't mean she still doesn't make money for bHVR. Unless we see sales data all discussion on how well she sells is purely anecdotal.
You also seem to be saying people want "sexy" characters. While this is true for some of the player base. There are still a lot of people who pick a character because the seem themselves in that particular character.
Oh I know. Its just when I see people complain about who gets cosmetics more often I simply bring up points I think are relevant as to why I think some characters get them more often than others. It just makes sense to focus resources towards what is more marketable. Trying new things and seeing what works can be fun but after awhile you gotta come back to reality and focus on the things you have done that worked out better. This is why I said its a good idea to use the most popular survivors as blueprints for future ones. They can give you ideas and they certainly don't have to be copies of those popular survivors. Take the ideas around your most popular survivors and expand on that for the next one.

This made me laugh! 😂 I really am curios how much of the DBD playerbase plays and mains Kate. I see her all the time so that number may not be too far off.

”Cool and attractive” is literally subjective though.
How isn’t Haddie a cool character in comparison to others? And attractiveness is subjective (Haddie is the best looking survivor imo)
My point is that when the only reason to pick your survivor main is subjective reasons then bhvr should account for that and make diverse survivors which they do. There’s no point in having different survivors at all if we just get Kate o and David on repeat
Do you think most people who play DBD share the same opinion about Haddie as you do? If they did, I'm pretty sure you'd see her played a lot more often. Those "subjective" aspects of the most played survivors in this game are arguably the very reason why people play them to begin with. You can't argue from a bias perspective that most people don't share and try to make a case for diversity beyond what consumers are more willing to respond to positively. If they're trying to make money from this game why should they focus on subjective attributes that are only marketable to a few instead of the majority?

The only thing that matters is how well she is received by the players. We don't need more diversity in cosmetic distribution. We need more characters that are worth making cosmetics for in the first place.
that’s just from one narrow perspective - and with this attitude, why should they release characters like Haddie or even Jeff and Adam to begin with?
they obviously are part of the story telling as well and the creators certainly do care about them to some degree as well. Also they might draw in other people that want tl play as such characters and not just those boring popular ones
I think if there was more relevancy to their inclusion in the game like a story mode then more people may be interested in playing the less popular characters. If we could play something in DBD that involved character interactions with voice lines and the such then it could increase interest across the board. All we have are the characters with some words on the screen and some voice narration within the tomes for some of them. Apart from that, DBD is just a simple objective game within small closed off maps. Maybe the DBD movie will get people more interested if some of those less popular characters are in it.

You’re comparison isn’t really accurate. In MK every character is a fighter with different movesets. I may not like how mileena looks but I might like playing her regardless. They are unique yes but nobody really picks their main in MK based on appearnace. They could all look the same and it wouldn’t have a major impact since their moveset is what defines them. Scarlet has her blood magic while kitana has her fans
In contrast survivors in dbd are just skins. It’s important for them to look different as that’s all they offer really. Sure Haddie might not be as attractive to the majority of the playerbase as say Kate or feng but that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have a fanbase or doesn’t deserve cosmetics. Sure she might not get as much and I understand that but going nearly 8 months without one is ridiculous for a character who was so new
The visual design of those characters has greatly impacted their reception within those communities. The fact that survivors in DBD are just skins means that emphasis on their appearance needs to be even more focused on than a fighting game character since as you said they have more things relevant to their popularity than just looks. If survivors in DBD had unique abilities that only they could use for playing as them then people would have more reason to play them simply for a tactical advantage. If Haddie could drop kick the killer and stun them for 5 seconds I'm pretty sure a lot of survivor mains would be playing Haddie. As it stands, the most cool looking and/or attractive survivors in DBD will probably always be played more often since they are basically just skins that can use any perk in the game you have. And they can be diverse in characters like that, but the "cool and attractive" aspect of them must never be overlooked.

Variety and diversity is one of the main way to market a character. For example mikaela appeals to people who like a modern witch aesthetic and Nea is for people who like punk outfits
Sure someone like Jeff who appeals to metal heads might have some less general appeal but he is still played and people still buy cosmetics for him. If we made every character very similar then people would just stick to who they already play and not bother with buying new cosmetics
If I mained mikaela and they added another witchy survivor why would I even change main or buy cosmetics for them?
The point I'm making is survivors can be different from others with unique things about them but still all be as popular as other popular survivors before them. Look at some very popular fighting game characters for example. Kitana, Mileena, Sonya, Jade and Scarlet from Mortal Kombat. They are all different in their looks, personalities and stories and yet they are all very popular characters from that game. Look at Cammy from Street Fighter 6 and how people went crazy over her new look in that game. All of these characters are different and unique but they have something in common. They are very attractive and beautiful characters. I know that may not appeal to everyone, but clearly it appeals to almost everyone. Some ideas in character design just simply appeal to a lot more people than just trying to make characters that will only appeal to so many. Who was Haddie made for? The Roots of Dread DLC for DBD has a price tag on it so I'm assuming they are wanting to make a profit from it. Maybe they sold a lot of that DLC. I don't know. What I do know is I rarely see Haddie in game and hardly ever see her spoken of in a good way in the very few times people even really talk about her. So who was the target audience there?

I never said Haddie is more popular than Mikaela or Kate or that she is played more often.
still no need to complain the one and first time she gets a new cosmetic release almost a year after her release when Mikaela gets one every update since her release.
No but you did say she was one of the most interesting characters in lore and design. The point I made was that this doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is how well she is received by the players. We don't need more diversity in cosmetic distribution. We need more characters that are worth making cosmetics for in the first place. I'm pretty sure if Haddie was as popular as Mikaela she'd probably have a lot more cosmetics by now and get them as often as Mikaela does. It doesn't make sense from a business perspective to invest time, money and resources into making content that won't give you a good return in that investment as compared to creating something that will. That is just my guess as to why Mikaela gets cosmetics more often and Haddie doesn't. Do you think its for any other reason?
@Phasmamain said:

I mean there’s no denying that she’s played less but we have to look at her launch to understand that. She had 1 anniversary cosmetic and 1 locked set (Nobody uses those except for licensed). If Kate launched with the same amount of skins that Haddie did at her launch people probably wouldn’t have played her much
When Haddie got her first full on new skin 8 months after launch people had forgotten about her. Especially the people who missed out on her anniversary skin who are left with 1 locked set and recolours to buy
Kate's popularity at launch had nothing to do with her cosmetics. She has and continues to get a lot of cosmetics BECAUSE she was and still is a popular character with a very appealing design to a lot of people. I literally got the game because of Kate. Her cosmetics were just bonus.
-
@Mooks said:
Haddie is one of the most interesting characters - lore-wise and design-wise. Kate and Mikaela in comparison to that are pretty bland stereotypes (no hate, I like their characters for what they are) and they have plenty of skins and still receiving often enough.
we desperately needed more diversity in cosmetic distribution and they finally got to it.
I really don't think very many people who play this game share the same opinion. I have not seen many Haddie fans at all since she came out. I've seen probably less in all the matches I've played since she was released. Kate and Mikaela may be bland stereotypes to you, but they are way more popular and played than Haddie. If anything they prove even a "bland stereotype" was better received than Haddie. This goes back to my point that the visual appearance of the survivors is what matters most. Haddie could have the most amazing lore ever but its not going to make everyone start playing her. In fact I think both Kate and Mikaela would be just as popular and played had they had no lore at all.
-
I would say whoever doesn't camp, tunnel and slug for their wins is a good contender for the best player for any given killer in DBD.
-
I'd give the killer iridescent shards if they were good and didn't camp, tunnel or slug. I like this idea.

When I said I want them to experiment you wrote they did that with Haddie and failed and should base look on popular survivors.
Personally I don’t mind if they make some that are less popular. I always like playing the survivors you see less. I don’t want to be the 4th Kate on a team. Luckily my mains aren’t in the common group. We are coming up to 30 survivors. You are going to have different levels of popularity which such a good choice. Not sure why you only want them to make “popular “ survivors.
They can make whatever they want. I'm not the one trying to market this game and its content to current and potential new customers. All I can do is tell them what I want as a consumer and give my opinion on what I think would be good for the game going forward. Yea the game has about 30 survivors in it, but it may as well just be about 10 with who I see most often in my matches.

If you don't like Haddie, stay not playing her. The people who like her looks and her lore will play her. Not every survivor has to be made to be popular or pretty just like "KateMain86" on the forums wants them all to be. I would honestly have 5 Haddies than have 5 clones of Kate just because "pretty characters sell".
Of course they don't have to be, but it sure is good for business. I'm sure they'd be really happy if the next original chapter sells a million units. But like I said, they can make what they want. You can tell them what you like and I can tell them what I like and we'll see what they choose to do next. I think I'm kind of in the popular opinion here when I say beauty sells especially when what you're selling relies heavily on outward appearance. Unless they're planning on giving survivors unique abilities that only they can use then I don't see what else really should be the focus of these characters other than their looks.

But why? Why would you want multiple of survivors that all look pretty much the same?
Who said anything about making them all look the same? Kate looks nothing like Yui and neither looks anything like Feng but they're all very popular characters. Why didn't everyone like Haddie just the same? Clearly there is something about the more popular characters that some of the newer ones don't have. I'm not going to play let alone spend any money on boring and generic looking characters. I'd rather invest time and money into 5 characters that look like Kate than 1 thats easily forgettable.

I’d rather not have multiple of the same characters with similar cosmetics. One of DBD’s strengths is the variety and diversity of its survivors and killers
If we try to homogenise them it would just lead to stagnation especially since survivors are just skins. Sure Haddie and Jeff may not be as popular but they still have dedicated playerbase willing to pay for skins.
It’s okay and even expected that some survivors get more than others. My issue was the blatant abandonment of some (mainly Haddie though)
"Variety and diversity" only goes so far when you're trying to market something that sells almost entirely based upon its visual appearance.
-
I think it only makes sense that survivors heal over time the longer they are left on the ground. You can "recover" almost fully but that last little piece is what is keeping you on the ground? It doesn't make sense.
-
@Crowman said:
If there's 2 survivors left with 4 gens remaining, the survivor team messed up. Giving them increased repair speed wouldn't solve anything. All this would do is make the overall killer experience worse as you are just adding a punishment to the killer completing their objective.
It wouldn't be a punishment to the killer. The idea wouldn't be to make gens repair so fast the killer has no chance. The idea would be the last 2 survivors still feel like they have somewhat of a chance of getting the doors open rather than just accepting it as an always lose situation. Gen speeds and also required gens to power the doors should absolutely scale based upon how many survivors are left. You'd be surprised how many survivors just give up when 1-2 people on the team are eliminated and 3+ gens are left to do. It almost always goes to a hatch or 4k.

"DBD is way more fun to play with friends than it is alone so what matters is designing the game around this idea"
I don't entirely agree with this. First off you have the killer player who is always solo. When it comes to the survivor side of play. Well, that's going to be subjective if you find it more fun with friends or solo.
What are your ideas in how the game should balance around "playing with friends"
I think it should balance around the casual player which includes SWF casuals. There are some sweaty SWF teams, but I doubt most of them are like this. When I did SWF we had over 10k hours experience with DBD and we valued our random goofy fun more than winning all the time. When even the killer gets a good laugh at the end of the match and thanks us for being a fun team to play against you know things are going well. Casual players can't effectively deal with sweaty killer strategies that are largely seen as toxic, like tunneling. I said before I think the game needs to fundamentally change in a way that tunneling is not even a possibility nor something the killer ever feels they need to do to win or regain an advantage. As far as what that change could be I don't know. Perhaps longer matches would help, but that would mean making gens take longer to do which survivors don't like. I've also thought about the idea of removing the hook timer altogether, at least on the first hook, which would encourage killers to focus on other survivors more since they are gaining no progress by camping or staying close to the hooked survivor. So long as the killer has a decent amount of distance from the hooked survivor, tunneling is far less likely to happen.

And your solution is to nerf killers to accommodate for casual survivor players?Baring the fact that tunneling is the least concerning barrier for casuals(the grind for perks is horrid, the learning curve is deceptively rough, killers with unfun counterplay) the game also needs killer players, the game isnt a playground for survivors where one sided is forgotten. The game has been lacking GOOD killer players for years,as a result new killers are meat to the slaughter for veterans to tear apart since mmr prioritizes fast games when no one can fill their place. As a result killers continue to bleed out players, but sure the poor survivors need more attention.
Also fyi the average survivor isn't a 4 or 3 man team. Most people play this game alone or as a duo,so you description of the casual playerbase is already inaccurate.
No... my solution is to balance the game in a way that appeals to the majority of players. Tunneling as a strategy is an unstable foundation for this game. I don't want killers nerfed to an unfun level. I want the game fundamentally changed so that tunneling doesn't even need to be considered but also not replaced by something that is just as toxic. DBD is way more fun to play with friends than it is alone so what matters is designing the game around this idea that will appeal to and encourage more people to play and play together.

And the casual player is horrible at the game.Do you really want to game to be balanced around said people?Veterans and dedicated players should be the ones retained, they will not jump ship when their friend group does or when a new hot thing is out, they will keep the game alive,it's the same philosophy gacha games use, focus on a small more dedicated group to keep your whole game afloat.
Gen rushing being the result of killer's actions is laughable. In the exact vain as tunneling its the result of bad design. Why would someone do something wrong or less efficient on purpose when it isn't even more fun or rewarding. The killer can only chase one survivor if you are not being chased you should be doing gens(there are exceptions ofcourse but they do not disprove the rule),not looking for bones,or hiding from a terror radius.Survivors have nothing else to do,them doing gens efficiently is perfectly reasonable.
The sad reality of this game is when either side plays as efficiently as possible the game becomes unfun.Losing all gens in 5 minutes,or having a survivor die 2-3 minutes into the match are both unfun situations. You mentioned the casual survivors not having fun but i would argue neither are killers, imaging facing 3k hour swfs when playing at peak hours, cause there is no one else to fill the lobby, even worse as killer you don't even have the perks necessary to compete as they are all scattered on dlc characters,so if you are going to bring up the casual player base( the guys who play 10 hours a week max,and don't watch yt or twitter) killers have it worse.
Yes I do want the game balanced around the casual player because they make up the majority of players. DBD isn't held together by the top small percent of players who think winning at any cost is the only thing that matters. Its held together by the group of friends who login together and do random shenanigans with lots of laughs and jump scares as they talk about it all in discord. Players like that should be the target audience over those who want to treat the game as some kind of competitive esport.

They already created some new popular survivors: Mikaela, Yun Jin and Vittorio.
I was talking about more recent survivors. Mikaela has been out for awhile as well as Yun Jin. Vittorio is way more recent. Yun Jin is pretty popular, but I think Mikaela is more popular just based on how often I see her as compared to Yun Jin. The point is characters that are well received should be the focus for cosmetics as well as blueprints for future survivors.
-
@GolbezGarlandGabrant said:
Mikaela has gotten a cosmetic every patch since her update. She's fine. Put some of that attention on Jonah or Adam.
She's also risen in popularity to the level of the other most used survivors. I see a Mikaela on my team almost every match. Mikaela was an absolute win survivor. Its no wonder she gets a lot of cosmetic attention. When it comes to cosmetics it isn't just about the cosmetic. Its about the survivor its made for too. A popular survivor is a lot easier to market cosmetics for than an unpopular one. Mikaela is a very marketable character.
-
I think the challenge right now is creating a new survivor that we see as often as Feng, Kate and Yui. The only recent one that has come close to this is Vittorio. They did something right with him. Characters like Haddie and others we hardly see should be thrown into the void and forgotten. Use your most popular characters as blueprints for the next one.
As for cosmetics, I feel the same. The most used cosmetics should also be used as blueprints for future ones. Its one thing for a character to have a lot of cosmetics, but do they have a lot of good cosmetics? That is what matters.

Don't expect anything. It could lead to major disappointment and unwanted frustration. If you think 7th anniversary is the only redeemable factor for this game then you'll only have yourself to blame for what is to come. If it's an original chapter then, yes, majority will most likely leave for good or if it's a liscenced but a bad one like FNAF then you're going full apeshit.
In other words, I can't be more excited for it because I will see either see a ton of rage posts or humble and nice posts.
A FNAF chapter would probably be the best thing thats happened to this game since the first RE chapter if it happens. If its an original chapter then it all depends on how good it is. I don't even know if there will be a chapter for it. Do they usually do their anniversaries with new chapter announcements? I don't remember.

That being said tunneling has plenty of counterplay. Its a risky strategy due to the virtue of putting all your eggs into one basket. You need to go all the way through with the kill.If the survivor is running to a safe tile or building you have to commit. If they have survivors bodyblocking you can't just switch targets for an easier chase. Not to mention if you lose them and they hide you outright lost the game.Ds and OtR exist as perks to counter it.Don't hit me with bs that the killer can just hit you off hook or that 3 seconds is nothing. In the hands of a good player it buys plenty of time, that the killer cannot go around for your team to do gens.
Tunneling is also akin to "gen rushing".Its plain simply playing effectively, regardless of how fun it is for the other side. Why would i chase the healthy unhooker who gives me nothing by hooking him when i can make the game a 1 v 3.Until this question gets a valid answer through changes, tunneling will sadly always be among us.
Most survivors don't know how to effectively deal with a tunneling killer. "In the hands of a good player" is not a good argument for the community as a whole. The casual players of DBD far outnumber the elite who know how to deal with these hard situations. We shouldn't be expected to play on the same level as the best players in the game to mitigate a situation that never should have become this much of a problem to begin with. The survivor experience should not include being eliminated from matches so fast that you didn't even feel like you got the chance to play one. I would also argue gen rushing is largely the result of killers tunneling over the years.

People have been saying that tunneling is going to cause the game to die for years and yet here we are. If tunneling was really hurting the game's popularity, the devs would have made bigger changes than what we've gotten.
And yet it is still one of the biggest complaints from survivors to this day. I wasn't trying to make the argument that the game would die from it although I do think if most killers made it their primary focus every match its a possibility. I am just saying tunneling overall is not good for the survivor experience in this game. Back when my friends still played DBD we did SWF and the thing we talked about most was tunneling. It happened all the time and I can't tell you how many times we collectively agreed to just switch to something else because of this. Even with 4 of us in comms with over 10,000 hours experience in the game we still weren't able to always effectively deal with tunnelers. We have seen some changes to address tunneling such as the basekit BT effect all survivors have now, but it isn't enough since tunneling is still a common subject here and in the general conversation of the game. Those gens aren't getting repaired faster if the killer decides to hard focus one survivor out of the match. Even if another survivor is trying to intervene, they both will eventually go down and 2 survivors aren't going to pump out 5 gens before that situation goes to hell.

Tunneling is bad for this game. No one likes being chased down right off the hook.

You don't seen the understand that the philosophy the developers follow cannot allow such a change to happen.Look at pyramid head he is a tunneling machine and its 100% intended.Cages only work with kinship. You don't get any basetime bt or ms boost. You are out of the cage and fresh meat.Tunneling isn't frowned upon by the devs, its not an exploit and it doesn't break immersion. There are many killers who rely on it as a mechanic for their power.
Even basekit bt crosses the line of the atmosphere the devs intend on making.I reckon it was added since coordinated teams only needed to run 2 and ensure the rescuer had it,meanwhile soloque players risked getting downed with no counterplay since it was outside of their control whether your teammates brought it or not.Even when introduced it was obviously not an anti tunneling feature, and more of a get to a tile and don't die instantly mechanic.
"Tunneling isn't frowned upon by the devs, its not an exploit and it doesn't break immersion."
Yea... it just makes people not want to play the game. If survivors do not have some kind of viable way to counter a tunneling killer then it remains a problem. If survivors had a way to not be seen by the killer for a few seconds after being unhooked then tunneling would probably not be an issue anymore.

In my experience, yes. At best one of those survivors will escape through the hatch but if the killer got the match down to 2 survivors and 3+ gens still needing to be done then the survivors have basically lost. I've always felt that gen requirement to power the doors should scale based on the amount of survivors left. Too often does the situation turn bad for survivors and the rest just give up and either try for the hatch or just afk and let the killer win. I notice very quick shifts in survivor behavior when they see someone downed, hooked or eliminated early. They know they are going to have to now pickup the weight of another player and stress themselves out more for a chance to escape. BPs aren't enough of an incentive to have to do this much in a match.

SWF is the heart and soul of DBD.

A player that's given up has given up regardless of whether you make them waste time in the game. Everyone keeps trying to treat the symptoms and not the problem. Figure out why they aren't trying in the first place.
Yep! I've argued this before. Usually when people give up like this its because of something else that happened in the match. Not always of course. Some people do it just because they were the unfortunate survivor to be found first and early. Other reasons could be getting downed after vaulting a window and your character is 10 feet on the other side making you wonder how you even got hit in the first place.

Instead of outright banning people for trying to unhook themselves, why not make the slippery meat perk basekit and increase the chances survivors have to unhook themselves? It may motivate players to attempt more saves while also giving players another option to get unhooked other than relying solely on their team. Besides that, unhooking yourself just feels good so if it were able to happen a little more often players might like that. I guess it would also encourage more players to try it and risk going into 2nd stage early, but just make it to where you get ever so many attempts without causing progress into the 2nd stage hook so players will know to start relaxing and wait for their team.

Took this screenshot a long time ago. He kept trying to get my attention by hitting the wall up there and I didn't know where the sound was coming from for awhile until I randomly decided to look up and see hillbilly hanging out on top of the exit gate. I wonder if he can still do this. 😄

RE4 Remake has the most content and the most unique ways you can play the game in my opinion. Even though I think the original RE 4 is better than the remake, it still looks like the most fun to play out of all of the RE games that have come out in recent years. RE2 Remake is my personal favorite out of all of them. RE3 Remake is Ok, but it could've been so much better. RE 7 and Village don't really interest me that much. The RE series started going downhill for me after RE4 which is why I'm glad they remade my favorite ones. I would say go with RE4R, especially if you're getting it on PC because the mods people are going to make for it will just make it that much more replayable.

And I say this as someone who owns every single Chapter DLC, every survivor, every killer in the game.
At least BHVR is trying to make the game better. There are other games out there, with their devs that simply let their game die and they don't care, no updates, etc. BHVR actually does care about Dead By Daylight.
I'm not saying don't complain.
Complain your hearts out. But at least support them, so they have the money to fix stuff and make the game better
No. I buy games and their content when it is fun to play and the content provided for it interest me. I'm not going to buy anything in hopes that something good will come out of it. Impress me. Then I will give you my money.

Its situations like this that need to be addressed because they are completely unfair for the survivor. The game has too many hopeless situations where its all but certain the killer is going to win. The number of gens required to power the exit gate should scale based upon how many survivors remain. It is completely unfair and irrational to require 2 survivors to fully repair 3+ gens, especially if there are disconnects. Maybe instead of requiring complete gens there can be a progress bar to fill that goes up based upon repaired progress of gens. Just some ideas. I just know not every survivor that does this in this situation is doing it to be toxic. They just simply read the situation and realized how unfair it was for them to continue repairing gens.

This would probably only be possible if DBD were a T rated game and there were no moris or hooks. If it somehow were possible it would bring a lot of new players to the game given how successful Hogwarts Legacy is and Harry Potter in general.

Big sexy bed? What does it moan at you when you run past it or something? It looks like a giant hot tub with a mattress thrown in it to me.

Let me ask you something... Is Fair that you PRETEND that a killer will play like you want (same for Survivors)? He bought the game just like you and he's playing how he want without breaking any rules from the devs (MIND YOU THAT I'M NOT EXCUSING THAT KIND OF BEHAVIOR), so as far as we know only the devs can do something about toxic behavior from both sides... Personally i HATE any kind of toxicity, but you won't resolve anything to ask something like that in the forum... quite the contrary, those kind of people that you don't tolerate will see this thread and they will feel rewarded for their efforts to make you angry about it
Is it too much to ask for people to just play the game normally and not be jerks to each other? I'm not exactly asking for much here.

Baffling. Like, ignoring the kind of cretins who'd actually lap this stuff up, I can't imagine tormenting a player who's clearly AFK makes for good content.
But yeah, that's really the only thing you can do when you run into one of these sad individuals - go limp and wait for them to get bored. This is the main reason I think a voluntary suicide button at a certain point of the bleedout bar would be a good addition to the game.
And for anyone defending this behavior, it's deliberate time-wasting for the sake of griefing. There's no gameplay merit to it at all.
Yep! Absolutely. If anything is unsportsmanlike in this game, its being thrown around by the killer when the match is clearly over just so they can grief and waste your time.

People that play survivor will complain about killer players messing them about at the end of a match then sit at an exit gate teabagging or sound spamming until the EGC timer nearly runs out. Lots of different people can do lots of time wasting things.
They can. But I didn't. If someone else on my team did I can't do anything about that. Don't take it out on me. I always try to be the model survivor but it isn't easy when you're constantly being treated like the most toxic one.

from now on I’m going to go out of my way to make sure every single Kate I play against bleeds out for 3:59 minutes and then I’ll hook.
A better community starts with you, but I guess you don't want that. May they all give you hell before you do the same to them.

Yea... and if I do those things to the killer then by all means they can return the favor. But I didn't. And that is the problem. I did nothing to deserve this and yet the killer found it in them to waste my time and be a complete jerk in the process. I don't care what other survivors are doing to piss killers off. Stop punishing a stranger for what someone else did to you.
