That's fair. I personally never take keys in as survivor, if I happen to find one during the trial I may use it, but I won't go into a trial with one as I feel that's just an easy out as survivor, I don't think it's fair tbh - like how I feel face camping is just low and not strategic gameplay. I try to play "fair" as both surv and killer and not do the things that make it super un-fun for the other side because I play both sides and know what it's like, but yes, that's not how everybody is and they are allowed to play however they want to within the rules of the game, I get that, although it sucks. I just don't understand face camping and why people do it as I know how much it sucks for the surv and how stupid it is strategically as you lose gen pressure and gens and waste time and don't build up any skill on your killer be doing that. It's bad for the surv and bad for the killer, all you get is an easy kill, but that won't help you get any better.

Don't get me wrong, face camping after 2 gens were already completed should mean you lose with a 1k... as in 120 seconds it takes to kill someone all the rest of the gens can be completed. Yet with some bad plays on the survivors end and/or inexperience you can still come out with a win.

It is usually only useful as a play at the end game where you don't have much else to defend, gates tend to be 99ed and you cannot defend both or when people swam you while you try and hook... the poor sod on the hook is your only bait or consolation prize based on the survivors choice.

I play both sides, but playing killer really showcases that you don't need to consider the fun of the survivors, each time you try you will be destroyed at higher ranks. Camping, slugging, tunneling... all have a time and place to be used, if people make mistakes punish them it is simply what you have to do if you play to win. Usually regardless of how you play you will be called a camper or a tunneller or worse, it doesn't really matter.

Also give new killers a bit of slack, they might not understand how to track people, find them and feel that if they leave the hook they lose all the pressure they have because they wonder off into nowhere.

  • Complaining that a rank 17 on a brand new killer is not playing the way you want them to play while they are winning. You merely have 500 hours, that is more than me man and I am after rank reset 4 with killer tend to play between 1-3. All I have been facing are keys (literally 4/6 games had a key brought in), offerings and people slamming gens. People will try and play to win.

  • Cannot walk down these stairs....png

You mean these stairs? I noticed it as well. Survivor walked straight down...

  • Key when facing hag is to identify that you are playing against her sooner than later; then disrupt her web as much as possible. Ideally with flashlights. When she picks up a survivor it is time to trigger as many traps as possible, etc. Facing a hag is like no other killer, she doesn't chase for long, she setups an area and uses her power.

why is it bannable? that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard about a game...

Teaming with the other side is bannable. They would need to report you and if they farmed with you... they are just as guilty.

    Why not just play killer?

  • There are some perks that can help you out as people stated, other than that mind games. Yet the game isn't designed about you losing their attention till they have other aspects to consider such as your teammates and the gens.

While I myself am not great at it or anything, it is important to try and loop, run, the killer for as long as possible. How to use windows and pallets to extend the chase, but eventually you will go down... you have 3 hooks and teammates.

  • Literally a feature of the game.

But it does live of swf groups they're the ones buying all those fancy cosmetics solos are playing along they don't care how their character looks and as far for killers it's 50:50 only half of them I actually see using cosmetics swf is only reason ppl play this game understand that it keeps it alive and ur expectations of bhvr to do anything about swf are unrealistic do you think they will nerf or make something that harms their cash bags? No they wont put ue expectations on low about this game and u won't get disapointed otherwise u will be making threads like these forever... Admit it or not solo players +killers together doesn't give them enough money like swf does and they not gonna ruin their source of money

For us this is the game for them it's money earning

Yet having no killers for them to face is going to be great for their experience. Surely you don't believe that the developers only care about SWF teams. Solo and especially killer are still vital to their game.

Directly punishing a SWF for playing together is not something to expect, simply showing the killer what they need to prepare for isn't harming the gameplay of a SWF.... it isn't like you can change killers or that their own gameplay is affected.

Whether someone cares about cosmetics in a game is really just a personal preference. Ths uniqueness of the game is what keeps it successful and the licensing of major franchises is what will keep them the top dogs. While they might be a bit complacent, slow and all that, the developers in the end do care about each of their demographics, the solo, the SWF and the killer.

  • @justbecause said:

Ofc u understood my words on ur own way lmao because why would u understand it any other way but ur own lol I never said 90% of game is swf but that they're 90% of reason this games keeps being alive but u do u

You cannot state the game lives off these groups for 90%, but somehow they are not that present in the game. It means 10% are killers and solos... you simply are making up numbers, assumptions about what will happen and base your entire opinion on nothing solid. Then claim it are killers who want an easy game, but isn't SWF and their hidden status not simply having the strongest setup and made easier by having unprepared opponents not exactly the same thing.

Like what harm could it do to have them try it out... instead of just fear mongering.

  • @justbecause said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2264721#Comment_2264721

It's not based on assumption it's the truth because naturally everyone wants easy mode and anyone claiming they like harder games is lying no matter how competitive they are I see dodging even now based on survs outfits thinking it's full swfs when it's not etc imagine what would be if they showed who's solo and who's swf and I would accept this change only if they give info about which killer we are facing as survivors so we can dodge sweaty spirit or nurse too

What proof do you have? It is an assumption, are there people that will dodge yes... but as you state it already happens. There are also those that won't... you cannot claim it is true without evidence.

You claim people only want easy games, isn't that same argument the same as keeping them hidden, you don't want killers to be prepared? Some perks are deemed useless against SWF, apply a blind effect... who cares you just tell your mates where you are, etc.

Your claim is that 90% of the game is based on SWF, it means that dodging them is impossible. You claim they already dodge all the time based on names and outfits and so nothing changes? You claim that killers misjudge them, meaning they dodge or need to assume that it is the case and sweat. Therefore solos need to pay the price for those who play together and you are surprised they have to deal with sweaty killers.

Killers might also want a chill game, but they need to play as if they face squads... and handle it.

  • @justbecause said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2264574#Comment_2264574

I'm playing the killer and I do not have problem with them if they're better than me they deserve the win unless they're being purposely toxic I'm fine losing to decent swf which let's be real isn't the case in 60% of times because this game lacks of decent survs big time and u do have info u need the items they are carrying unless they ofc switch last second Which that gives you full right to tunell them out of game and as matter of showing they are swf that Would be worst thing possible because killers would colossally dodge lobbies and they wouldn't be able to find one

It isn't about losing or winning, you state just adapt and handle them. Yet you get no information about what you are dealing with and not everyone has thousands of hours of experience to just rely in their m1 skills to just handle anything in the game.

They would massively be dodged is a strawman based on an assumption. If you claim 90% of the game depends on SWF then the killer would enter a full cycle of joining and dodging. Many people would still be fine with playing against them, but might not want to use a meme build or no/bad add ons.

Just handle them is an elitist mentality of just play meta and sweat every game. If they turn out to just be solos well though luck on them. This is why after 3 matches I just slug, tunnel, camp and sweat regardless of WHO I face. No slack or cares given, because I don't know if they are a SWF or not and if dealing with a SWF coming out swinging is pretty much a requirement. I have no issues facing a team and if they clap me that is fine, but facing them versus a solo team limits my builds and having no clue what I am against just means I use the same ones always.

  • Hhhmmm only considering your own enjoyment, the fact that those green ranks get stomped by better players game after game after game is naturally none of your concern.

Hhhhmmm variety, why do you not see those killers at higher ranks? You state to look at the root cause for deranking, yet instead of addressing the reason why those killers are not chosen at higher level, you want to stomp those people that use them.

If you want more variety, make those that are least represented more balanced and viable.

If you don't want to sweat, then don't, you will lose some matches and drop in bracket naturally till you settle somewhere you belong.

  • @justbecause said:

You do know this game is played 90% because of swf? If it wasn't for them game would sink faster than Titanic

Instead hating on them try to get better to point where u can handle them swf will always be part of this game and we gotta deal with it after all not all swfs are sweaty they're mostly friends playing for fun

Then why do people keep stating that the game is not balanced around that fact?

Then why do people oppose telling us what we are facing, so we can use proper add ons and builds that help handle the groups?

Provide the information so that one can be properly prepared, killers are shown items to consider. Even if a team is not sweaty, they will have usually more information about the game as they are talking to each other. If you are a decent survivor group and somewhat stick to gens and play well with good perks which most do, it requires a killer to use good stuff all the time. Each time I try a less gen based build, boom game over in no time, end situation impossible to recover or hold.

Go play killer, because to state they are just having fun doesn't mean that they are throwing the match.

  • You have those that demand you let them go and play nice, because imagine you tunnel or camp or even simply try and win as a killer. Therefore you try and play nice some games, but get then meet the reality of survivors not caring about the killer. Therefore now you have to deal with that behavior.

You have those that beat you, but even when you as the killer open the exit gate and leave, they find the need to spam you with notifications which are ear bleeding at times, because they need an escort at the exit gate. If you have won and you are all safe just leave. You are not entitled to an escort service where you can but dance some more. But it is just a game...

You have those that need to call out your perks while running the most powerful ones themselves. They will even do this when they win, it doesn't matter etc.

Play a couple of matches as a killer, start the day fresh and happy, wanting to just have some fun... only have a couple hundred hours in the game; Sweat or perish and get insulted either way. Survivor's get what they sow, the game just becomes more enjoyable if you just stop caring.

  • @gendoss it isn't just about your fun, you have a team, a killer that remain in the match that is now ruined for your selfishness. Matches last like 15 mins, you signed up for them and wanted to play the game no? So... play the game.

  • It is an asymmetrical game where two sides face each other. Regardless of how balanced it would be it would never be totally equal and therefore one side is stronger than the other. There are different compositions available and based on those factor the balance is shifted one way or the other.

At low levels the killer is the power role the higher the level of play and the coordination the more it shifts to survivors.

  • For perks Clown or Plague, Pop and Corrupt Intervention are so nice to have.

For gameplay, it really depends on what you are looking for. Blight is great for mobility, but takes some time to learn. Hag has a unique way of playing, as you don't really chase in the traditional way and are more about control while still very strong. Plague is also a bit different in terms of play due to her power where it causes the broken effect, allows survivors to heal to unlock the ability to pick up her upgraded puke. In the end all the killers have their own style and it is more of a question of what suits you and what you want out of a killer.

  • Please go play killer and spread your hooks evenly among the survivors, never let anyone on the ground slugged or hook a survivor twice in a row and always instantly pick them up and get to rank 1. Then come back here and tell us about your journey and how fun, sportsmanlike and amazing all the survivors acted while you are losing your games. The fact of the matter is that camping, slugging and tunneling cannot be seen in a vacuum where the survivors in the match have no influence on these things or have nothing they can do about it.

It is funny that you only mention actions done by killers which put pressure on the survivors. No mentioning of tapping a gen to stop the regression after you kick it, even mid chase, flash light saving, body block, 99 gates before going to rescue that last survivor and other actions that they do that make the game unfun or more difficult for the killer. It isn't that they should not be doing these things btw. as they are actions that one takes to try and win the match.

Are killers not supposed to try and win a match? They have to be concerned about the survivors feelings and enjoyment... while if you play killer you will find out that the reverse is rarely true. I bet you will see more killers giving hatch at the end of a match that they won, than a survivor sacrificing themselves when they have.

Once again solo sucks because the ranking sucks, swf can pick the team meaning they're less likely to have a team of gen allergic survivors lol. Seriously run bond, kindred etc. And watch how little some survivors actually do to progress the game

There are more benefits to SWF than just picking your teammates. Hell if your friend isn't that good it might not be a huge benefit.

MMR helps pick better teammates, but does not cover coms. If you take the same group of survivors, the good, the bad, the mixed group we have now and use coms they have a huge benefit. Killers are not balanced around that fact and yet that is what they face at a pretty high percentage. 2 people on coms already has benefits, it is why you rather have your partner than a random.

  • You miss the point of the argument as it isn't about the strength of the survivors on an individual skill level it is about the gap between SWF and solo teams. Since you won't be able to take away coms from a SWF.

The idea behind it is if the gap between a group of the same people in solos or as a SWF is less apparent, then it would be easier to balance the game out in a manner where it would not matter as much if the killers deals with all solo, duos mixed in, trios or a full squad.

As you point out the game is being balanced around the solo experience, yet Killers do not exclusively play against them and have to deal with SWF teams to some degree quite often. As a result it makes the killer experience more difficult, as a duo, trio or full squad means the balance shifts towards the survivors. You shouldn't punish players for playing in a group or as a solo, equalize the two to make it less important and balance around that is by far the best approach. You should be able to group up with other good players you meet and not feel bad about it because it provides to much advantage.

This is the argument people state, shift the balance by adjusting solo play into be more inline with SWF and simultaneously adjust killers to match.

  • @Vampirox said:

i just think this is all excuses for being a bad killer and not learning your class. Im a survivor main with red ranked killer and i can tell you i still 4k without those perks. Well 3k ish since slugging for a 4k is dumb, roulette with hatch.

Using a strong perk combo is being a bad killer, so you as a survivor are bad if you use a strong perk combination? There are people that can escape perfectly fine without the use of perks just as well, perks are not a requirement they are to help you out.

  • @Skaty soon enough you will learn that if a survivor is not working on a generator they are helping you... also don't spend to much chasing those seeking your attention, break chase and find them out of position.

  • Once when I was trying out nurse, got clapped hard and one of the survivors came to give me a kill. Very friendly in end game chat, saying yeah Nurse is hard just keep ar it and you can become godly.

I never said that. But it should be clear that there is good and that there is bad killer design. Killers like Oni, Blight, Huntress or Hillbilly are strong if played good, but survivors still have a good chance lasting long in chase when they as good or even better then the killer. Not the case with the killers i mentioned. I know both sides more then enough that i feel competent to judge.

Competent enough, but purely judge a killer on their strength in a loop? Better players can still loop a PH he did receive a nerf, twins can be countered by teamwork and that type of behavior.

It is funny that the killers you like are those with map mobility for the majority. You are experienced enough. Different types of killers have different benefits.

  • Euhm balanced around 2 players? You do realize that this is a 1v4 game?

its not a free "5th" perk. its the mechanic of the perk. how did it became a 5th perk? its like BT thats protects unhooked survivor. like Deliverance that free hooks upon saving anyone.

every perk has its mechanic. learn to read from it.

The mechanic of an obsession is still in the game, all that might have changed is the risks that killers might take? If you do not run DS, you aren't guaranteed the protection it provides. You don't get a free 5th perk just because there is an obsession and the bluff is still there and that hasn't changed. The killer takes a risk by picking you up if they tunnel someone off the hook and an obsession is in the game... the bluff failed and one does not have the perk. If they had DS and were tunneled off hook they could have used it, gained a life stage and a head start to continue the chase.

    Nothing changed in this situation.

if im the killer and assumes the survivor has DS, then ill just wait out 60 secs. upon tunneling. BOOM. deactivated. besides, it takes more time being healed, wait for him to bleed out, while others survivors not doing gen. so DS has no use.

Wait you can fiddle your thumbs for 60 seconds as a killer and not lose? I wish I met those type of survivors in my lobbies.

no because i don’t use ds, i haven’t for months. Killers would still respect it as if i did though so generally they wouldn’t tunnel but now killers don’t fear it so they just tunnel like there’s no tomorrow.

If you don't use it, yet believe it should protect you? A free 5th perk?

  • @Pig_Is_Pog if you are being tunneled off hook that would mean that DS will still do exactly the same as it did previously? You aren't hitting any of the conditions to have to disabled and therefore it is simply still active.

  • It is so hilarious that the majority of responses is to simply ignore and not be bothered by it. Yet they do not seem to understand what I am stating here, it isn't about how I respond on a personal level but the implications of the behavior that we see:

    • Do survivors really believe that calling everything tunneling and camping regardless of the situation makes people more inclined to play nice?

It is about the request that the survivors make to killers to not use these tactics and yet how they treat people make them not care what you have to say. All I hear back from the community is exactly what I am stating that is being created: an environment where people are told not to care, to ignore and to disregard the enjoyment of others.

I guess I cannot be surprised, maybe it is simply an observation at this point as it is already so ingrained into the community.

  • @Clevite said:

I say it to both sides, play the other side with equal intensity and learn some empathy.

This would help survivors understand what tunneling is exactly, why it happens sometimes accidentally, and why it is sometimes needed to swing momentum.

It will also allow killers to understand why purposeful tunneling sucks for the survivor.

By all means play how you want. But after years in this game and all of my goals met, I am trying to play more relaxed. If I go all sweaty for a 4k, at this point, it is all ego driven. Like I can probably 3k easily playing pretty nice.

I guess at some point you have to recognize what kind of killer you are, and how would you feel if a killer used the same tactics against you.

If I play nice where is the empathy in calling me an ez baby killer, a camper, a tunneller? All I see is one side asking for empathy and to put yourself in their shoes, while when I get destroyed no empathy is shown as a killer, when I as a killer am struggling no empathy is shown. Yet how dare you tunnel that survivor that ran up to you with their DS or borrowed time? How dare you after all gens are done to proxy camp the hook? Why didn't you go to your basement and cry, just be better! I loved the phrase of a survivor I had the other day: I do this to annoy the killer! when I ask them why they did what they did.

You are exactly showcasing my point. Just ignore and deal with the survivors that show no empathy towards you, put yourself in their shoes and decide. It is great that you can relax and get a 3k. Yet I am talking about players like myself that have what 200 hours in the game, what is the message we get? Learn to play nice, because that is 'rewarding' and gets you respect / not having to deal with crybabies calling you out about how BAD you are after they won and lets not talk about when you win... ooof.

If survivors want to have killers that play nice, maybe threat those that actually put in some effort differently? Whether I actual tunnel and face camp or not... the "empathy" I get is the same, so why exactly should we show empathy? Like the more I play the game the less empathy I have due to how I am treated when I do show empathy. Is this truly what people want to promote? I played survivor a bit as well, been face camped, tunneled you name it and frankly I get why they do it... that is the empathy I am learning; Killer you do you! Because I understand their frustrations.

  • Yet my point is more addressed to those that keep calling everyone a camper and tunneller. If killers are being labeled with those titles regardless of the situation, the actions of the survivors and all that. How are they surprised that killers as you indicate stop caring and simply do these tactics.

Survivors claim they want killers to not do these actions, yet most will tell you that you did those actions regardless of whether that was true or not. Yet they are surprised if you keep calling someone something that they will just start doing it, because there is no reason not to any longer. You get hate associated with it and the table no matter what you do, so might as well do it?

  • @Shirokinukatsukami said:

Most killers are also bad at this game. They keep whining about DS and UB and DH.

So... fair treatment for all and those perks should also be nerfed? See how that argument holds no ground, undying is being nerfed while those are not?

1: Never once did I call him a tunneler. 2: Again, this discussion is not about the definition of tunneling. 3: He still won despite having had DS used against him because he knows how to play the game. You don't have to be as good as him to know how to play the game. He came across the same survivor quickly, so he made the decision to eat it, and after that, the match only went uphill. You're just mad because you don't have the capacity to deal with this honestly overrated perk.

    1. I will quote you here: "He encountered it because he was tunneling, even if not by choice." if the act of tunneling is not defining someone as a tunneller than you are truly not being genuine.
    2. Yet you stated: "As a killer main, seeing "DS is Broken" and "Nerf DS" makes me shake my head and mourne that so many of my fellow Killers are tunnelers." therefore you believe that we call it broken and needing a nerf because we are tunnellers. Not realizing that those that do not tunnel find that survivors are misusing it and abusing it while their actions are not that of tunneling. It provides a full minute of protection regardless of the following actions of a survivor. Be it that they can be healed to full health, save others from hooks, heal others to full health, cleanse totems, do gens while all under the protection of DS.
    3. He is a multi-thousand hour killer main... just because someone with that much experience can win, doesn't mean that what they are facing is fair. Slugging everyone is something that survivors claim to hate, yet that is the main counter versus this perk and it becomes pretty much required to do. Also if you slug you aren't actually progressing your own objective namely getting a 12 hooks, but then again getting 12 hooks is made so ridiculously hard that most killers do not even consider it a viable outcome in 99% of their games. Sure you can 4x slug and one hook everyone, guess what you won't need to deal with DS... but is that where we want the game to head to?
    4. You assume I have issues dealing with DS while frankly I rarely get hit by it, but when I do it tends to feel bad... as I am not going out of my way to tunnel, usually it is because the survivor is abusing it or I am punishing the survivors for playing badly - I personally would rather not be required to slug as much as I have to right now, might be me... but I want to try and hook people not leave them on the floor to fast track myself to a 4k.
    5. I always love the argument: Killers just get good! Perks of survivors are not a problem, but when it comes to things that affect survivors... nerf it. Survivors do not need to get good, learn to counter strong perks like undying/ruin... nah just hit those things with a nerf bat after a couple of months as doing Totems is to hard to manage. At least survivors tend to get a notification whether these things are in play, unlike killers see an obsession, everyone has DS! well you have to play like they do that is.

Sorry I missed this post before I responded, my page was not refreshed. Also I cannot for some reason quote this and then go to the next page to quote all in one post so I will make this an individual response

    ~

My point was saying the game is treated by its players as 1v1 many times, not that the game is designed that way.

Information perks I come to find are only useful to me, not my teammates. Bond is ok, don't use it much since I think its range is too short. Kindred I like, but I don't use it for other people. I use it exclusively for myself, and not even for the benefit of being a better teammate per se, I just like knowing if someone is being saved and if I should go for it, or if someone is being camped. Because without Kindred in solo queue I find it hellish having to assume if I'm far way if someone is being saved or not. Just causes unnecessary worry.

Also "gain game sense" is just equivalent of saying 'git gud'

The only time I find this game on the survivor's end is consistent teamwork is in a swf. You can't coordinate with randoms on what to do and where to go; pointing and waving only does so much, and in fact does very little. Can't strategise or do anything. It's basically four people randomly put together doing their own thing and only coming together for the coincidental hook/heal, and if they stumble upon you already working on a generator to genrush

If you use kindred to know whether you should go for the save, stick to a gen because someone else is going for the save or the killer is face camping. Even though you claim this is just for you, it is actually about being a better teammate. (It is why I always have it, because my game sense isn't good enough)

What you do not get is even if people are selfish that does not mean they aren't part of a team. You cannot make the game balanced around peoples egos and selfish behavior. The game is a 1v4 and even a bunch of solos are a team, if you spread out and do gens you are doing well. A SWF will always be better at efficiency, they do not need information perks, they do not need as much game sense as they simply tell each other what the deal is.

Way to take things way out of proportion. My point wasn't that you need to tunnel to be good like Ohtofu. My point was that you can still take a hit from DS more than once and win a match. Thousands of hours or not, it all comes down to knowing how to deal with loops, utilizing your Killer properly, and knowing how to recognize and drop an unhealthy chase for later.

That is a great way to showcase the fact that you did not bother looking at the video. OhTofu did not get hit by it, because he was forces to slug them to ensure not to be hit, even though he already hooked another player and at a later stage took the risk, because he knew he was far enough ahead to be able to eat it. The fact is that he had to deal with DS, because he was playing to well. This is what I pointed out and, you called him a tunneler. If you know how to deal with looping , when to drop chase, utilize your killer properly, punish mistakes made by survivors good enough... you will be always defined as a tunneler, by your definition.

This showcases that DS is overpowered in comparison, because good killers that aren't tunneling still receive the punishment. Not to mention that good survivors are able to weaponize it and abuse it.

You claim to be as good as someone as OhTofu, you will be a tunneler and therefore why would it matter if you just take the short cut to it and actually tunnel? Survivors will complain regardless.

He encountered it because he was tunneling, even if not by choice. He still won that match though, so this only reinforces my point that DS is not that bad.

    Thanks for proving me right.

The win of course cannot be attributed to the fact that OhTofu has thousands of hours in the game and a good killer. That such a killer still needs to deal with DS because he is playing well and not tunneling. You know good killers need to be punished and play around DS, not because DS is broken... no them downing others and hooking them, punishing bad/bold plays of survivors is a clear indication that they are a filthy tunneller.

Thank you for proving that being considered a tunneller means you are a good player, that dealing with DS means you did well... just look at OhTofu, he is at the level that it isn't even his choice anymore... so it must be the best way to play.

As a killer main, seeing "DS is Broken" and "Nerf DS" makes me shake my head and mourne that so mamy of my fellow Killers are tunnelers.

As Ohtofu would say, this might be a bit of a hot take, but honestly DS is a trash perk from the Survivor's point of view. Think about it: if you're good enough to get consistent downs without tunneling, you will NEVER encounter this perk.

Seriously if you don't tunnel, its like taking away a whol survivor perk. Just a useless empty slot.

Yet Killers still come across it when they are good. Go actually watch OhTofu and you will see him slug people and avoid picking them up... because they could have Decisive Strike active as it hasn't been a minute. Are you telling us he is a bad killer now? Usually in these cases he already had another chase and hooked someone else... he is clearly tunneling. TUNNELING VALUE BABY!

    https://youtu.be/pwffjtNsHn4

Watch the Elodie slugged on the floor... and he even mentions DS in his commentary and him having to play around it even though survivors pretty much made a bold play, but imagine killers punishing risky moves and mentions: "This guy might DS me"

The game isn't treating it as a 1v1, because it isn't, whether or not it feels like a 1v1 for you does not make the game a 1v1... the game is and remains a 1v4. Just because the 4 random people placed in a team together still means they are a team. When I play survivor as a solo, guess what Kindred is my biggest friend as it allows me in the moments that matter to know what the rest of my team is doing. Use bond or other perks, gain game sense (I personally just use perks because I am bad). Like seriously use information perks to help out and you know have the mentality of trying to be a team mate. I try and help my fellow survivors out, stick to gens when I notice others are going for a save, heal when I can and all that.

I am not in a team of 4... but I joined the team side! Killers are solo, you are in a team... play accordingly and well if your team plays badly, well tough luck.

  • Why should you feel bad for playing a specific character in the game? Killers are defined by their powers mainly, if you enjoy that power you play that killer. That you do not like facing it doesn't mean it cannot be fun to use.

Why should you not use specific perks and builds? You can pretty much guarantee that survivors you are facing are using some type of combination of meta perks. Just if you are running the strongest builds, do not afterwards in the chat complain someone on the other side did the same.

In the end, are you having fun? That is what matters, whether the other side that you are facing as an opponent is having the best time is not really your concern... frankly they have 3 other people that should be more concerned about it than you are. The survivors you will be facing will rarely think twice about slamming the gens as quickly as they can and use any trick in the book to escape. Following the survivors guide to killer tends to be a good way to lose a game.

  • I have had 2 times in 7 months a person give me an end-game sacrifice for getting destroyed so hard. Once when I tried playing nurse and once when facing a SWF that simply were at a totally different level than myself. So it does happen... very rarely.

  • @Yords the developers made a simple choice to address a problematic killer offering, while what is considered the other side of the coin by many... has remained untouched.

A large portion of the community already has the idea the developers are survivor biased, yet still decided to implement only one of the changes while they already stated both need to change. Regardless of ease of the change, the offering has been in the game for a very long time and could have just as easily been postponed to launch along side key updates. The developers should consider the bigger picture afterall.

I have not once used an ebony mori, yet have seen an increase in keys being used by survivors. It is clear a nerf is coming and people are going to use it more frequently. They might have well plastered a billboard with nerf inc. Killers however received no notice and by doing so survivors did not have to deal with an influx of mori use. The developers are simply asking for displeased customers when making a choice like this.

You cannot tell people not to be angry, while there was a clear PR message being sent by their actions. Is the change bad, no. Yet from a community management perspective it was a horrible decision and people will be angry because of it. Like it isn't like they addressed it within a single development cycle and leaving it untouched for a longer period would have caused additional heat. Nobody was aware they were planning it to begin with.

I personally don't care, yet just looking objectively I believe BHVR should have been aware of how their customers would view the nerf and they missed out on a good PR move and made it into a bad one. Just imagine how the community would have responded, for the majority, if those two changes came in the same patch out of the blue. Neither side gets a heads up and voila we fixed the game shortening things for both sides at once!

  • Someone camping basement, apply pressure by doing gens, when the person is about to hit the next stage you can do a 1 for 1 and gain even more time to do them all. Followed by a 3 man escape?

Another option is to heal up and do a multi survivor rescue even after doing the gens by exchanging 1 for 1? Protection hits, BT save, 3 people walk in healthy, 4 people walk out injured and yet you all walk out?

This is a team game, you were dragged into the basement... the lair of the killer and expect it to be a walk in the park to escape it?

  • Being good at looping as a survivor is about the amount of time gained for your team to do objectives, not whether you will never be caught. A survivor is expected to go down, the question is how long will it take? This is a 1v4 game, not a 1v1... if you make a chase last long enough the killer can simply lose off that one chase. Sure you will be dangling on a hook, but you have a team to get you off of it.

I lost the battle but won the war. I'd rather it be the other way around because I did so much

You did and you got bloodpoints for your efforts. You can decide to be less of a team player and just loop the killer next time to your teammates. It might lose you the war, but you might escape the chase and get the hatch...

@Shirokinukatsukami goals are relative, yet it is a team game if you play the survivor side regardless of whether you feel like a team or not. How much of a team player you want to be is up to you... but I bet you will get angry people if you urban evade into a hatch. As a survivor you do not need to all escape, just like for a killer it is not required to kill everyone.

  • You won the game, the killer lost. You escaped with 3 out of the 4 survivors... people love telling killers that they do not need to 4k to win and have a good game, so why doesn't that apply to survivors as well? You died, yet your team won and you are part of that team.

Or are you here now claiming that the killer with the 1k won the game?

I'm a main killer with 4300 hours I don't tunnel and sometimes I kill 3 and 4 without doing it, even in some games on the map, I don't kill anyone. Why does that player who tunnels have to kill all 4?

Surprising a killer with 4300 hours can play in any way they want. I am a player with 230 ish hours, I don't have the luxury of out classing nearly 95% of the player base and yet I have learned a couple of things.

    1. Tunneling can simply be your best move to do.

    2. End game camping can be the best thing you can do.

    3. Slugging when other people are around is a good move.

    4. Staying near your gens and defending them is a good thing to do.

No matter how you play survivors will find something to complain about while reality is that a killer is far more reliant upon them making mistakes than your own actions as a killer. I have learned that blindly going for tunnels, slugs, camps as your main and only strategy is going to lose you more games and yet people that claim it isn't needed are just as wrong. Killers shouldn't simply play worse and make bad choices, why should they?

People here are enjoying pointing at killrates to determine balance, while kills are not showing the whole picture. Stats and data are great, but what are the stats on gen completions, game speeds, chase times, hook numbers, etc? Kill rates state very little about balance, as it is just one small aspect of the game. A 4 hook to 4 kills, one hook suicides causing teams to be killed... even the developers stated not to conclude things from this one data point.

The matchmaking is totally wack and this skewers the numbers, it skewers the perception that people have. I meet survivors with 5x, 10x and more hours than I have, which if I would let them can run me around the map forever. Chases are the main determining factor in the game balance and the choices of survivors. Killers have some elements that they can influence, but the true determining factor of a match is the response and efficiency of the survivors.

  • If a killer does this you already won and your team should have enough time to punish them. This is a 1v4 game... if you ran the killer long enough for bloodlust to hit stage 2 or 3, the killer should lose the game if the survivors didn't mess up. Look at the bigger picture, not just the 1v1.

Yeah he's still solid because you graphically can't remove a intended solid object it's just the coding changes his intended look, it's scummy to do.

Euhm... it would be extremely easy to remove the collision of the wraith in his stealth mode. It is there on purpose.

There is nothing scummy about the opponent using their power to get a hit, which is their goal.

You say that but it's a reportable offence, he ignored me initially to block the pallet and being wraith was faster then me by miles while invis.

Hahaha, he is body blocking you to gain time to get out of stealth so he can hit you in the face and preventing you from hitting him with the pallet. He did not ignore you, he is literally unable to hit you while invisible. There is nothing reportable about it... there is a reason he is still solid while invisible.
