  • It’s not clear what happens, or what options are available, to the last survivor remaining. If the killer closes the hatch, what happens? The gens are blocked. Does that mean the exit gates are powered?

2 question marks, but all a part of the same question.

  • Is FF14 PvP like DbD? If so, does it require twitch movements? I can guarantee the answer to the latter question is no. There are a lot of reasons why Sony doesn’t allow it. To name just a few, security of the systems and network (especially use of the PSN store), integrity of the data (i.e. trophies), exploits, hacking, etc. Sony does not have any direct control over BHVR’s servers, but Sony can prevent you from using any network features.

  • Thankfully, Sony will never agree to it, because the players will never agree to it. Sony did a poll a few years back, and more than 90% of those who responded said no. If you want to play with PS4 players, get a PS4.

  • The changes to Legion look great, as it forces you to play him correctly. I seriously agree that Frenzy should never have done any damage/reduce the mend timer. That being said, it appears that Legion will be extremely easy to loop now, as none of the looping issues in the game have been fixed. Several maps still have multiple infinites controlled by RNG. How is this M1 killer going to work with these infinites?

  • @MegsAreEvil the devs never said any such thing. You are trying to twist what they actually said, and adding your own words. If you insist, then provide proof. Where is the post where they specifically state that it is an exploit? Where is the video where they specifically state that it is an exploit? Either provide proof, or it is nothing more than your opinion. Your opinion has absolutely no weight in defining a game exploit in BHVR’s game.

  • I certainly don’t, and I play both sides. Some basements are way to dark now as well, and need to be fixed. If you want more fog, that’s what the offerings are for. Dark is not scary, it’s just a pain is the ass. The brighter twilight world, is much nicer.

  • @Carpemortum so close, but no cigar. What I said is true, but they did go on to say that if it becomes a problem, they will look into making changes. Well guess what, they announced last week that they are making changes. So, if you can stop mis-using the exploit term, we can end this discussion.

P.S. I don’t like it when a Legion does this either, but using the wrong terms does not help make a point. In fact, it has the exact opposite effect. If people had just said, “It has become a problem, and needs to be addressed.”, BHVR might have said something earlier. Using the “exploit” term is dangerous when used incorrectly, and requires a well thought out response.

  • @Carpemortum nope, if it were, you’d have been warned about a ban today. On 2 different live streams they said is was a cheese of a mechanic, but it is not an exploit.

    Have a nice day... 😁

  • @MegsAreEvil by sheer definition, and explicit definition today, BHVR has declared it not an exploit. If it were, you’d be banned for doing it.

    Have a nice day.... 😀

  • @Detective_Jonathan tell me where I have tried to redefine what BHVR has declared? The only thing that I have done is correct your inaccurate statements with those from the devs themselves. It sounds like you are trying to troll at this point. Is that what you are doing?

  • @Detective_Jonathan we will have to agree to disagree. It is not up to you to define what is an exploit, and what isn’t. BHVR owns and publishes the game; therefore, it is whatever they declare and nothing else. You can disagree with it, but you can’t redefine it. Sorry

  • Actually, “Moonwalking” is not an exploit, and BHVR has specifically stated that it isn’t. It is intended gameplay, that they didn’t originally consider when creating Legion. Use of the blades in the way that you discuss is technically an exploit, but for it to be bannable, you need to prove intent to grief others. Unless the player admits that they are using the exploit, they will not be banned.

  • Once an exit is open, a 60 second timer will begin. A bubble centered on the exit, and covering the entire map, will start to collapse. If the other exit gate is opened, a second overlapping bubble will be created and appropriately sized for the existing timer. Survivors who are outside of the bubble(s) will be slowed by 60%. The killer will move at his normal speed. The collapse will pause, while any alive survivor is downed, or hooked, and will restart once no alive survivors are.

GET OUT, OR DIE! THE COLLAPSE!

  • Why do you think that the punishment will change?

  • I was at work when I posted this, and got different posts crossed. The worst killer on PC would probably be Freddy, but I don’t usually do that bad with him on the PS4. On PS4, Nurse is definitely the worst, due to the frame rate. Once a survivor knows how to juke a Nurse and lose LOS, they will never die. It’s just to easy to get away. That being said, if you play Freddy now, it will be a total loss once his rework is out. They started from scratch, and we have no idea what his new power will be.

I’d say, go for LF if you really want something difficult, and won’t be changing anytime soon. At the higher ranks you’ll definitely have a difficult time, if you can even get him there under the current system.

  • @NoShinyPony in that situation, it counts as a DC. The moment that the offering screen is displayed, DCing is punishable, and your offering is taken away. If you close the game before the screen displays, you are safe. I don’t see how that can be abused.

  • There is a difference between DCing, and loading into a match with less than 4 survivors. If you DC, you won’t be keeping your items.

  • I used to follow TydeTyme, as I believed that he knew what he was talking about. He seemed to be providing facts that were not available anywhere else, and I had no reason to not believe him. That was up until I had been playing the game for about 6 months, at which everything changed.

I started to see him bullying people is his chat, for no reason other than they disagreed with something he said. He would flat out ban someone simply for that, where he was being rude, and the viewer was being civil. So, I began to question if what he has been saying is true or not, and I started watching other streamers and YouTubers.

Just like commercials on TV, where you always need to ask yourself, “What aren’t they telling me?”, and “What does what they are saying, really mean?”. TydeTyme bases absolutely everything on how he plays the game. He does not have an objective bone in his body, except perhaps in his middle finger.

For about 8 months, he barely, if at all, played DbD, and his viewership plummeted. His current viewer count never gets above 100 viewers, unless he gets raided, even during his sub-a-thons. His killer skills have seriously degraded in the past year, to a point where he’s barely average. He has never known how to play Hag properly, and consistently dies when playing against one. His survivor play is coming back, but even that is lackluster.

TL;DR don’t believe everything that you hear or see, unless there is empirical evidence to back it up. Option is just that, one’s opinion. It should never be construed as fact. Always consider, what does the YouTuber/streamer gain from what they are presenting, and then formulate your own opinion.

  • Have you tried rebooting your PS4? That’s the first thing that you should try when receiving network errors, and the Test Network Connection works fine.

  • As someone said in another thread, the best way to change it is to make it only work when the killer is carrying a survivor, so that it is a body blocking perk. It would then be a counter to Mad Grit instead of just being another chase extending perk.

  • I used to play 2-3 hours M-TH, 6 hours Friday, and 8-10 hours Saturday and Sunday. Now, maybe 5 hours a week? With MoM, I have stopped completely. There is no reason to play a game that removed an extremely divisive perk, only to bring in an even more divisive perk that stacks along with every other second chance perk. How many second chances does a survivor need?

There should be 1, and only 1 second chance, period. Once that second chance is used, all other second chances should be eliminated. If you think the matchmaking is bad now, see how many killers are playing in a couple weeks. Until MoM is completely removed, I’ll be playing fun games like Spider-Man, God of War, Colossus, Days Gone, Watchdogs 3, and The Last of Us 2. Yes, those last 2 games will most likely be out before the devs are able to extract their heads from their asses.

P.S. I almost forgot Horizon: Zero Dawn 2....OMG!

We're aware of the bug and we've been keeping a close eye on the feedback. I can't give any exact time just yet, but don't worry, we're on it.

WOW! The most broken perk in the game that is more powerful than DS ever was, is going to be made even more powerful. Good luck on finding killers to play this game.

  • @Raccoon I can’t create a new clip, but I can post a link to the VOD:

    https://www.twitch.tv/videos/404184482?t=7067s

Start watching from around the 1:58:00 mark, until the end of the game. The clip posted starts around 2:03:45. After the clip he includes Hex: Ruin to provoke a response from those in his chat channel. BTW, the perk on the right that he is using, is Hex: No One Escapes Death.

  • @EqMonkVeeshan do you care to post a larger clip that shows that he was actually being faceous? Or are you going to defend this out of context clip? It is against forum rules to post anything that is false or inaccurate. Your clip is designed to create an argument, which is also a violation of forum rules.

  • @TreemanXD be careful with your statement. McClean was being faceous, and posting inaccurate information in the forums is against the rules.

  • @Raccoon WOW! I hope McClean shows his face here and puts you in your place!

You took a clip completely out of context, twisted it, and used it to meet your agenda. He was being faceous when he made the statement, which also included Hex: Ruin. Posting false information is a violation of forum rules.

Everyone else, watch the video starting at least a minute before this clip begins, and watch it until the end of the game. You will see how Raccoon has twisted the truth and completely lied to everyone.

  • @Carpemortum

So did you not see where devs will NOT ban for streamsniping?

This threat had nothing at all to do with stream sniping, or any rule violations, and I never brought anything like that up. Both are off-topic, so I will not discuss anything about either.

So implementing one with a time delay would be preferable to what is currently accepted?

I never discussed a time delay simply because of what I've already stated. A time delay would do nothing about traps, totems, knowing how the killer is playing, where he is looking, what he is looking for, etc. That, and everything else that I didn't list, would put the killer at an EXTREME disadvantage.

Also, I said what I did because you as many others simply posted about why it wouldn't work while ignoring points that would say otherwise. You could have said any view is unacceptable (which per the devs streamsniping isnt), but you didnt.

Dont get snippy hon. Think your arguements through before responding defensively.

    <3

And this is where you cross the line and become a TROLL. I will no longer discuss anything with you on this thread. Any further attempts to contact me will be reported as trolling attempts. Good day.

  • @Carpemortum @Peasant

I read the entire post. A time delay still allows players to see how the killer is playing. Anything that allows the survivors to get information about the killer that they don’t get while playing the match is an unfair advantage. Don’t assume things that you don’t know.

  • There is no possible way that anyone at BHVR would ever allow anyone to spectate the killer in public matches, even though it is a current bug. If they did, there would be no killers period. It would be impossible to make it fair to the killer. The simple fact of seeing what the killer sees, and relaying that information to others, makes it unfair.

  • @AntiJelly they did increase the minimum number of pallets on one map, but I forgot which. The pallets are hit/miss now. Sometimes there are pallets everywhere, while other times there aren’t any at all. The distance between pallets is way to low now, and variance between low and high is way to wide as well.

  • @Sasuke nice necro of your own thread from 6 months ago. Boil Over will not be changing. It was designed to negate Iron Grasp, which is what it does. Anything more would make it OP. If you want more, wait until April 2, get the new perk from Ash, and stack them together.

  • @Zillence upload the video to YouTube as unlisted, and then put the URL of the video in your ticket. That’s the only way that you can do it on the PS4, and I’ve gotten quite a few people banned, as the PS4 records up to the last 60 minutes of gameplay. You need to clip the video to just the game in question, lobby to scoreboard.

  • I’m on PS4, and the absolute longest I have ever waited with the new matchmaking system is 4 minutes. Tonight, nothing over 2 minutes. This is US, BTW.

  • @TWiXT no one at BHVR has specifically given any numbers for how the DC banning system works, and it’s unlikely that they ever will. The system automatically calculates the bans as people play. Once a player meets the requirements for an automatic ban, they are placed on a list of players to be banned. Then every so often (period unknown), they issue the appropriate bans to those who have been on the list for an unknown period of time. They do this to prevent players from learning how the algorithm works, and thus bypass the system.

Some bans are almost immediate, like those for lagg switching, using unauthorized exploits, and changing/hacking your save file, which are handed out once the offense has been verified. If you want to know more, visit the following link for more information:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/19450/game-rules-and-report-system

  • The new matchmaking system is currently online for PS4 at least. Wait times < 4 minutes for duo SWF, and the ranks are matching pretty well too.

  • The problem is that the Benevolence emblem is giving way too many points, especially for saves. After 2 saves I had 240%+ benevolence, which is absolutely ridiculous. The other half of the issue is that Evader is giving out no points at all. I ran a killer through 2 very long chases where 2 gens were completed during each chase, maxing out my Boldness at 8,000, yet I only received a Silver emblem with like 50% Evader. #########?

Which brings up a separate issue regarding the Obsession. BHVR needs to announce that running an Obsession perk only increases your chance of being the Obsession, it no longer garauntees that you are running an Obsession perk. All survivors start out with an equal chance of being the Obsession, whether you are running a perk or not, while those who are running an Obsession perk will have a slightly higher chance. From what I’ve been seeing, 70-80% of the time, the Obsession is not running an Obsession perk.

You are spectacularly naive if you believe this.

Most of the time, people depip due to factors that are completely beyond their control (trash teammates, trash killers, DCs etc.)

The problem isn't that it is hard to pip, it is that it is too easy to depip due to the way everyone else plays.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, just like you are entirely entitled to your “spectacularly naive” option by failing to see the bigger picture. You also failed to contribute to the thread, as you didn’t provide any content on the topic, whereas I pointed out why it is working.

  • @Hoodied said:

@Kaelum NOBODY IS RANK 1 YET

EXACTLY! It is doing it’s job PERECTLY!

  • No, just no!

The new system is working almost flawlessly, and it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do, put players in their proper ranks. They might need to make a very small adjustment to the emblems that increases the survivor points by no more than 1 tic, but that’s it. You only pip when you play well against someone of equal rank or higher, and you depip if you play poorly against someone of equal rank or lower. PERFECT!

  • @Delfador please read your post very slowly. Consider all sides. The system is working almost perfectly, and precisely because of every single point that you make. There might need to be an extremely small tweak for survivors, but at most by just 1 tick. If it keeps going as well as it has been, I seriously doubt that BHVR will do a rank reset on April 13th, which means that it is working.

  • They made a change to the way the obsession is selected. There has always been a chance that someone who is not running an obsession perk, would be selected as the obsession, but it was so minuscule that it very rarely ever occurred. It was so rare, that you could say that it was broken.

With 2.6.0, they significantly increased the chance of those not running an obsession perk, to be the obsession. They did this to prevent the killer from knowing who actually is running suck a perk, which was a complaint that survivors had. Those who are running an obsession perk, do have a higher chance of being the obsession, but the difference is significantly lower than it used to be.

  • @xility if the system doesn't perform in the way that they are hoping, they will make minor changes to it until it does. They want all players to be well rounded, and only those players will be at the highest ranks. We need to give it a chance, and see where everyone sits in about 1-2 weeks. I have a feeling that there won't be any Rank 1s or 2s, and an extremely few 3s. There should be a good number who are constantly jumping between 4 and 5, which is what I think that they are hoping for.

There are 2 ways that I see it. Either they want to ensure that no one can get to Rank 1, and possibly Rank 2, or they only want the top 1% to be there. Either case achieves a balanced system, from which they can build, and eliminate the monthly rank resets that occur on the 13th of every month. Give it time, and I think you'll like the end result.

  • @xility with the ranking system changes, it will be impossible for any camping killer to get past rank 8, if they can even get there in the first place. Also, switching to “Offline” mode is how you hide your PSN ID from those that you are playing with. Everyone I know does this, to prevent dodging. Players will see your Trophies, and dodge you, if you don’t.

  • @HavelmomDaS1 the reason that any match is not fun is solely because one side is way over-powered. Most games ensure that things like perks and addons have no major affect on the match, and more of something that is fun for everyone. This is not at all the case with DbD, as there are so many of each, that simply stacking them makes them OP.

The only possible fix would be to reduce the effects of all perks, and all addons across the board, and to normalize all of the killers. However, if this were to happen, the game would most likely die in less than 3 months. Thus the dilemma, what can be done? If the number of perks was reduced by combining perks into new perks, and reducing the effects of those perks, could over time fix the perk issue. Doing this over the course of 1-2 years, would be more tolerable to players.

Removing all forms of Moris (including Tombstones), firecrackers, fireworks, etc., should also be done. While they may seem innocent and fun, they are OP. Being able to use firecrackers to save a survivor who is being camped at an exit gate by a LF who is truly struggling, might be a laugh for the survivors, but it definitely isn’t for the LF. BTW, I was the one with the firecrackers, who unhooked the survivor, and we all got out.

This is a 4 vs 1. When there are 4 survivors, they should have the edge over the killer. When it drops to 3, they should be more equal. At 2, the killer should have all the power. This is how asymmetrical games should be, and anything that throws that balance off, needs to be fixed.

  • @Hoodedfengm1n BHVR removed farming from the list of bannable offenses, but they failed to remove it from the reporting screen.

  • Hag like Hadonfield. No chase, just TP. Survivors jump, then sad. Entity full.

Seriously though, each killer has at least one map that is their Achilles heal, and requires you to play differently. Hadonfield does have 2 infinite loops that are truly infinite. There is no possible way for most killers (Nurse, Hag, and Trapper excepted) to ever catch survivors who use them, when they are created. They are somewhat similar to the infinite in Lery’s that is sometimes created.

  • @I_Eat_Worms it’s funny that you should say that. There is a bug in the last patch that allows you to spectate the killer. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

  • @Black_Fence unfortunately, I don’t agree with you on what you think qualifies as a pip. I believe that the changes to the Emblem Ranking System have been long overdue, and they could possibly end all future rank resets.

As for DCing killers, I agree that the match should be a stalemate. To prevent abuse of the system, only a safety should be guaranteed. If at the time of the DC you happen to have enough points for a pip, or a double pip, then that should be your reward instead, which I think is what you are stating.

  • @Black_Fence you, and many others, may no longer be considered red rank material. This is the simple fact of the updated system. It is going to be excrutiatingly difficult to stay in the red ranks from this day forward, let alone get there. Read the separate blog post for more information.

As for depipping on disconect, this is a server-side setting, that they chnaged again, in the last couple of weeks. TBH, if the killer DCs, everyone should safety by default, but that is not how the systrm works. After you are in the match for so many seconds (server-side setting), you will no longer auto-safety if the killer disconnects. It has been this way since about May 2018.
