Camping and tunneling is not toxic, when done in the correct circumstances.
If they are doing it with the sole purpose of ######### one person over, it's toxic. If it's to win and it helps them win, no it's not.
However, there are some extremely toxic comments after being camping/tunneling that go into racism, homophobia ect which are toxic.
So racism, homophobia etc. are toxic, but all the other kinds of insults are not toxic? I've always found this kind of logic equipped by BHVR extremely funny, like all personal insults and offenses are officially allowed, but only specific kinds like racism and homophobia are bannable. You can insult anyone however you wish, just don't touch their race, gender etc, and you are fine, it's not toxic whatsoever, just a good comradely refreshing "#### ####" in your face after a good match.
-
You haven't played on Eastern European servers yet, my dude, especially in the low MMR zone.
How often do your killers use NOED?

So why are you here whining about what valve did? Again, nobody from valve works here. Nobody here can change your ban, or really cares to hear whether or not you are deserving of it. This isn't the steam forum.
Local (i.e. "per game") steam discussions are moderated by mods that are employed there by respective publisher's community managers, in this case BHVR, valve has nothing to do with it.
-
So people who camp and tunnel just for the salt in chat and comments are not toxic, but people who don't like campers and tunnelers are the toxic ones? Oh, this "us vs them" mentality of some killer mains has gone too far.
-
On their Q&A stream they showed they don't intend to change MMR system ever in the future, because the lead game designer thinks the current system is perfect and flawless, and not a single change can ever make it better. So you are suggesting ideas to the wall.
-
With the current state of the game I can relate to them. SoloQ is so weak at the moment players are losing their will to live and just let go on hook. I do the same whenever I see that the match is not worth the effort to be played.

Because you probably play at low MMR, learn to play and you will understand that NOED its trash perk at high MMR.
Yeah, just yesterday I've seen some tournament streamed by Tofu, and killer used NOED there. It was Frontier vs Odyssey, the latter was the killer, just at the end. So NOED is literally tournament tier perk. Or you want to tell me that Odyssey play at low MMR?

This is bait right, cause no one can possibly be so out of touch to say that CoH is weak right?
Try using it in soloQ then tell me. If you get destroyed by 4man's on comms, CoH is not to blame.
-
Enjoy your Escape Based Matchmaking. You escape - you good, MMR up. You die - you bad, MMR down. That's how the devs see the world, and they are adamant about it. So why risk it for a teammate when you can escape yourself, if escapes are the only thing that matters?

7 blink nurse was fair and had nothing wrong with it, survivors only needed to play better as survivor.
Nice ad absurdum, sir.

Imagine enjoying Dead by Daylight, lol

It's definitely needed, SWFs have it out of the box already.

What are you on? I want some.
COH has an AURA that all survivors can see. Every damn survivor unhooked can run to it and heal themselves up, saving the time of the unhook and allowing them to field more perks.
Use your critical thinking skills. They're there, somewhere.
Yeah, personal insults are even stronger an argument.
About what you are saying beside that: try utilizing this perk while playing in soloQ, just try. You will spend half of the game looking for totems and mostly will encounter broken bones. And even after you succeed, your boon might be gone in a second, literally, because that's how long it takes for the killer to snuff it. And the killer certainly won't have problems finding it, given its loud noise for 50 meters.
Why does it happen so that I've never had problems with this perk even while playing against SWFs? It's not nearly as strong as DS and DH.
-
You probably miss the whole point of these "Q&A" streams. These are not actual Q&A events, they are part of their PR, no more, no less. It's like listening to speeches of politicians in hopes of hearing valuable information and answers.

If NOED is getting more than 1 down/ kill, then the Survivors just suck
You can say the same about CoH causing killers lose games. It's not an argument. The perk is weaker than Self-Care in soloQ.
-
@DBD78 said:
Your not even serious if you compare a super strong perk to NOED, a C tier perk.
A perk that can only be useful in 4man SWF? Comparing to a perk that grants 2 (TWO!) free kills out of the box with no effort? Well, i don't know, you might be right on this one: they are not even comparable.
-
The next discussion about CoH being nerfed while leaving NOED untouched just shows exactly what I mean. For 1 survivor main or an unbiased person there are more than 20 pure killer mains, most of which never touched the survivor role. Why do some streamers mention the "shortage of killers" when judging by the forums 19 players out of 20 mostly or only play killer?

surely then I should be running into plagues, billy, ghost face and myers all the time too? But nope, just bubba, time and time again
Plague's power is bugged, you miss when you clearly hit.
Billy has been annihilated by BHVR, have mercy.
Ghost Face's power is dependent on how bugs play out: if you are lucky, it will work in your favor, if not - you will be an M1 killer.
Myers - imagine a killer power that can be DEPLETED. Even slinger never runs out of ammo, but Myers does somehow.

Probably about 30. If that's your argument, my guy, I've got over 8200 hours in this game. SoloQ is the majority of my survivor gameplay. Stand down.
Just like your ideological comrade above said:

And your third sentence.
If you take it as an argument proving your point, you should take it as also disproving your point.

How often do you even play as a soloQ survivor? How many soloQ games have you played within the last week?
-
@JimbusCrimbus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2761521#Comment_2761521
That's because it is.
I've never lost a game to a CoH. But I've won a ton of games with NOED. The same goes for when I play as a survivor, just the other way around. I don't know how biased one has to be to believe NOED is weaker than CoH, when the reality is dramatically opposite.

DS technically always activates. Unless you don't get hooked.
Also KEKWKEKWKEKWKEKWKEKWKEKWKEKW comparing MONSTROUS SHRINE TO COH.
You're a legendary comedian.
Nope, I just used the same logic that guy used to justify CoH being called stronger than NOED.
-
You can use Monstrous Shrine infinitely.
DS and UB sometimes won't even activate.

Confirmed on Q&A stream, the dream survives.
"Said on Q&A stream" is not "confirmed", we all know how the devs love to go back on their promises.

Maybe after the game loses another 10k players, then those words will start meaning something

Oh no instead of healing in 8 seconds everyone can self care in 10 seconds with a medkit.
The 2 main issues: Stacking with medkits and the absurd self care heal speed aren't addressed so no not a big enough nerf.
50% would be fine.
5% sounds even better. And everyone inside the boon radius should receive Exposed status. That would be more fare and balanced.
-
Dead Hard
NOED
-
The amount of killers using these "subtle" speedhacks for extra 2-3 % move speed (like running with Bloodlust 3 without actual Bloodlust) and wallhacks (they always know where you are without aura-reading perks) is enormous, at least on EU servers. It's funny that you can't even properly report those, because you can't prove it was an actual wallhack and not just their "intuition", even if you record it.

@snatcha said:
In the last few weeks i saw a increasing amount of survivors running into me at the start of the match and then kill themself on Hook and killers just afking in a corner of the map.
I saw a lot of new players playing against very experienced players, not because they're so good or not (only) because MMR sucks, but because a lot of good players purposefully derank to have easier matches.
I get that MMR isnt fun, but shouldn't the MMR system detect some of this behavior like complete afking as survivor/Killer and give them a DC penalty rather than giving them lower MMR, which is what they want?
In Rocket League for example you get kicked out of a match after afking for 15 seconds. Of course DBD Matches are longer than RL matches, so you could do it like this:
If no input was made within the first minute of the match, it gets canceled.
If no input was made for 60 seconds during the match, the player automatically DCs, get no MMR change and a DC Penalty.
Do you play as Doctor/Legion/Trickster/Spirit/Freddy/Slinger/Hag/Trapper/Blight with slowdown perks? If so, then the reason is not them wanting to decrease their MMR.
-
How do you even know you have high MMR?
-
They took 2 years to implement an MMR system based solely on escapes, have some mercy on them! Making a whole new game mode would take them at least 5 more years.

except teabagging doesn't ruin the game for the killer, unlike camping and tunneling for the victim survivor
This just in; trying to win is now considered game ruining. 😂
How is hitting survivors on the hook "trying to win"? Also, camping leads to losing, so it's only done to spite one survivor. Nice gymnastics though.

@Pulsar said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2757205#Comment_2757205
lmao, no.
You just agree with them.
Say it like it is.
The OP basically says "you reap what you sow", it's a completely neutral conception that works both ways. It can only be considered as "survivor-sided" if you think that teabagging is worse than camping and tunneling (which it isn't), and that killers are somehow entitled to ruin the game for survivors, but survivors have no right to teabag back, and that would be extremely an killer-sided view. So calling this neutral argument of OP "survivor-sided" just shows the extreme killer-sidedness of those who do so, not more.
Also, before you start, I'm not a "main" of anyone and play both roles, so I'm also thinking pretty neutrally.
-
@Pulsar said:
Another classic us vs them post.
OP is pretty neutral, to be honest, but a lot of "us vs them" posts are going to fill the thread for sure, especially by killer mains.

Not really. A bugfix is not a buff or nerf; it's a bugfix. But the gens popping is clearly not a bug, so what's your point? Or did you just decide to slide into whataboutism for lack of any actual counter-points?
And now you are contradicting yourself. All the necessary points have been stated previously, you are just trying to reduce this needed QoL improvement to absurdity and attach a "buff" label to it, while calling anyone who disagrees with you a "toxic survivor main", literally. No point in continuing here.
-
@AngyKiller said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2756910#Comment_2756910
You're missing the point that this QoL change is a Buff to Survivors, or a Nerf to Killers; depends on the point of view. You are literally removing those gen pops when a Survivor jumps off a gen, which means no more alerts & no more lost gen progress, which means gens are finishing that much more quickly.
I don't care what anyone's viewpoints are; this is, directly, a buff of nerf to one side or the other. So it's not just a quality of life improvement. it's a buff and/or nerf because it directly affects the game's flow and completion times.
By this definition of yours any QoL improvement can be called a "buff". Even fixing bugs for one of the sides is a "buff of said side" by this logic, since fixing a bug makes the side stronger.
