  • Different boons can be applied to the same totem, so how do you implement that? Like mixing a green boon with a blue boon would create a cyan totem? And if you add a red boon to them - it will become white?

  • I remember how killer mains were constantly repeating "ohh, nobody will use this perk anymore, it's soooo useless now!"

  • They already killswitched Haddonfield for that purpose.

Weird, I remember reading somewhere since the game could be finished by the other remaining people it wasnt considered hostage for that person would eventually die from EGC once all gens were fixed, I think it was in a thread related to the dead end room on the Saloon where some person caught 2/3 people and one remained outside, I remember reading it wasnt hostage because the remaining one outside could finish the game by himself and activate the EGC killing the trapped people and ending the game albeit slowly.

But I may remember that thread wrong, it was more than a year ago.

You are absolutely correct, that was exactly the definition. I even remember one of the devs confirming that just blocking a survivor in the beginning of the game while there are other survivors who can activate EGC is NOT taking the game hostage and therefore is not bannable. Apparently they decided to sneakily change the definitions on this one, judging by what Mandy says. Or there was never a proper definition in the first place, and every dev interprets this rule however they wish. The same as with "working with the killer", I made a thread on that one not long ago and no one seems to be sure where exactly the line is drawn.

  • DH, DS, UB, BO - that's a full 4-perk troll build you have there. You join a match with the intent to bully the killer bringing 4 bully perks and you are upset about being BM'd back?

  • We don't need RPD library reworked, we need RPD removed completely.

No. Because you're wrong, and intellectually, you'll be destroyed.

You are free to believe whatever you wish.

  • SWF moves to a separate game mode, or gets scrapped whatsoever. Wanna play with friends - go play KYF.

DH, DS, BT, NOED, Ruin, Undying, Devour get nerfed to the ground.

Blight, Spirit, Doctor, Legion, Oni, Artist, Ghostface, Clown get nerfed (maybe just a little bit).

Hitboxes, especially vaulting hitboxes and those of Huntress' hatchets, get fixed.

Wraith and Bubba receive massive buffs in order to qualify at least as C tier killers.

All licensed maps get removed from the game without compensations.

    Here's a timestamp for you

When we are remaining silent about cheaters, its often happening in order to break this cycle.

Still, the cycle is only getting stronger somehow. Here is some food for thought: in minecraft you can't fly or run with speedhacks without being automatically kicked out of the game, without any special kind of anti-cheat software, just by the base game itself. In DbD, however, you can.

  • Survivor: insta lobby from ~4am to ~9pm, 2-5 minutes at night

Killer: insta lobby at night, 5-10 minutes from ~4am to ~9pm

    Eastern Europe.

  • You said boons are OP because they have 1 (one) advantage. I listed all the disadvantages they have. You said "okay, those are just pros & cons". Yes, one "pro" with a bunch of severe "cons", but apparently still OP because of that one "pro". At this point you are contradicting yourself for the sake of continuing arguing instead of accepting the obvious, or just plainly trolling.

  • @AsherFrost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2782767#Comment_2782767

My mistake, I thought you had actual disadvantages that made it so that people didn't bring the perk, not just the normal type of pros and cons literally all perks have.

But I do love the idea that you are here seriously trying to claim a boon like CoH should cover the entire map.

So now you accept that boons are completely balanced, with all their pros and cons?

  • @AsherFrost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2782760#Comment_2782760

What disadvantages are those, exactly? You keep saying there are tons, but have yet to mention a single one.

You decided to forget what you replied to earlier? Ok, I can repeat:

14 second cleanse vs 1 second snuff

Nonexistent sound radius vs noise you can hear from the other side of the map

14 seconds + some time to find a dull to bless vs instant activation on hex

Effect within a small area vs effect on the whole map.

  • @AsherFrost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2781295#Comment_2781295

Yeah, because 14 seconds of cleansing is the same as 1 second of snuffing,

well it definitely isn't. After your 14 seconds the totem is gone, the killer can't come by and re-hex it, or hex any other totem, they just lose that perk for the rest of the game.

because 0.5 meter sound radius of hex is the same as 16m radius of boon's sound.

4 players to 1, and again, snuffing a boon is temporary as a totem can be reblessed as often as the survivors would like.

We've heard all this before, these gymnastics never change.

Maybe the reason you keep hearing the same response is simply because it is true and logical? Nah, couldn't be that, just just be those darn killer mains being mean again, right?

Dude, if you compare Boons to Hexes, you will see some advantages of those and some disadvantages. You lose some, you gain some. Yes, they can be relit repeatedly, but they have so many huge disadvantages compared to hexes. It never stops surprising me how some people can be so biased in favor of one side they only see what is bad for them, completely ignoring everything they have advantage in.

It's like with totem and gate spawns: killer mains complain about "bad" or "survivor-sided" spawns, ignoring completely those occurrences where they get lucky and the spawns are actually killer-sided, like totems behind seven textures or gates right next to another. I don't say this specific design is perfect, but at least it's somewhat fair: it can work for both sides, depending on your luck.

Same goes for hexes themselves: killer mains keep crying about "my ruin going down within first minute!" ignoring completely those dozens of matches they won with Devoure staying up for 5 tokens, or got an extra free kill with NOED, because soloQ can't cleanse all totems efficiently.

Same goes for kills themselves: when you have to earn fair 2k out of 4, it's "sweatfest" and "the game is broken", but when you get 12 4k's in a row - it's "chilly balanced gameplay, I enjoy that". A killer can get a long row of 4k's, taking it as granted, but when it gets interrupted by one 4-man SWF who get a 4escape, the killer gets upset and thinks the game is survivor sided.

And here we are again. Yes, the boons can be relit indefinitely. But if you have a survivor who only relits totems for the whole game - you have 3vs1, because that Mikaela is not doing anything else. You get some, you lose some, that's how balancing works. Boons have a ton of disadvantages compared to hexes, and killer mains just keep ignoring them, only focusing their rhetoric on that one small side where they have a slight disadvantage. "It's not fair until we have advantage in literally every field, no compromises with THEM, WE come first!". This black & white worldview is poisoning the community.

  • Imagine a perk being so utterly useless that you see it literally every game, at least on two survivors.

  • @TotemSeeker91 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2781295#Comment_2781295

Bruh, the killer LITERALLY has to go out of his way to snuff the totem if you put it in an already completed gen area

Gosh, i don't understand how people don't see this kinda stuff

Survivor also have to "go out of their way" to look for totems, and they waste much more time doing so.

  • So, how long exactly is this SOON™ going to be?

At least tunneling is a valid strategy to winning, same as gen rushing. Suiciding on hook screws over your teammates and ruins the whole fun of the match. You only do it because something doesn’t go your way.

Suiciding on hook is the most optimal strategy to go to the next game faster.

That actually was a thing back in the days, it was around 20% i guess, but BHVR removed it because "We want to perk stun time be more consistant" or something like that, can't remember what exactly they said

I know, they said something like this, but they actually meant to say "We need to keep our licensed perk DS uncounterable by any means, so no DS stun reduction for you, especially not by a free perk"

  • They already had their increased sells on Ash release while selling the intentionally overpowered perk, so they don't intend to do it again. Maybe one of the next licensed perks will be OP for 3 months after release.

Even though it isn’t bannable, still doesn’t make what you’re doing morally right.

Tunneling is also morally wrong, doesn't stop it from being the most efficient tactic in the game. "Moral wrongness" was never an argument in this game.

  • Agree. Enduring effect should be included in SF, and Enduring itself should protect from ALL stuns, not only from pallets.

Yes, and I drive a Maserati made entirely of chocolate.

There's no ad-hom there. From what you are saying, it's reasonable to assume you don't play killer. It's like someone talking about the lack of traffic in New York.

I play both sides, killer a lot more.

But don't take my opinion as gospel. Instead, look at Otz, Tofu and the other 8000+ hour Fog Whisperers and their opinions on Boons.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2781311#Comment_2781311

IWOM, Eyrie, RPD. Potentially some farm maps. That's at least 4 maps. You can also use it to a lesser extent on Asylum.

If "you never play killer" is your only argument, then you have no arguments at all, because your ad hominem "assumption" about me is completely wrong. As I said, I mostly play killer now, because soloQ survivor after MMR is pure hell. At this moment I'm in a lobby as Bubba. But I see you are not up to a constructive discussion, so I don't feel like explaining and proving anything to a wall.

  • @StarLost said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2781295#Comment_2781295

Yes, we get it. You don't play killer, so you don't actually know how this works from the killers' perspective.

    Think of it this way.

    • You are on RPD.
    • You hear a boon and see people healing and being cloaked. You know it's a Shadowstep and CoH stack.
    • Where is the boon? It could be in the office, it could be in fifteen different places where it'll still cover half the map.
    • You guess that it's in the library, because survivors always put it there.
    • You go to the library, which is a long route totally out of the way.
    • Is it on top, or in one of the shelf locations, or in a corner?

Tell me, how much time have you just wasted?

    Multiply it by 4.

If the number isn't below 15, you've just lost the game.

I play killer more often than survivor since MMR came out, so your ad hominem misses completely. Try playing soloQ survivor yourself once in a while to see the whole perspective instead of being a "main" who only sees everything from one side.

Snuffing Totems to counter Boons is impossible as they can be infinitely reblessed. The only definitive counter that is on the same level as cleaning Hex Totems is killing the Survivor that is using the Perk.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/307988/boil-over-buff-shows-killers-are-hypocritical

Using Perks to counter other Perks and using game mechanics to counter Perks are different, and no one is complaining that Boil Over is op, people are complaining that it's abuseable and can guarantee that the Killer can't hook you anymore

Yeah, because 14 seconds of cleansing is the same as 1 second of snuffing, because 0.5 meter sound radius of hex is the same as 16m radius of boon's sound. We've heard all this before, these gymnastics never change.

  • Survivors: Hey, killers, your hex perk is too strong!

    Killers: Just do bones!

there's a different between being hidden behind a few boxes and being in the middle of a hill next to a gen or 2 meters from a gen

Yes, this is why it's luck based. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you are not, same goes for survivors. Same goes for the gates: sometimes they are across 7 miles, sometimes they are next to each other.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/307978/hackers-are-getting-out-of-control

I agree,if hacking reaches a certain point, players would rather not play if half their games are againts hackers.

TF2 survived the cheater bot apocalypse, without any support from the devs for years. A lot of players will stay in the game literally no matter what happens with it, as long as the servers are running.

  • So what do you want? You want all totem spawns to be hidden behind seven textures? Some of the spawns are visible, some take half an hour to find. It's luck. Luck based mechanic is not supposed to always be in favor of killers. Try playing soloQ once in your life on Lery's, Swamp, RPD or Midwich, against a killer who has Devour.

  • Nice bait, Wraith is one of the weakest killers in the game. He was nerfed to the ground recently, and all his power can be disabled by a single flashlight. If anything, Wraith is in dire need of buffs.

I know its the popular thing to hate on devs but i genuinely think they are in a stage of absolute apathy. They have Patrick basically taunting players and having the devs downplay the grind and deny any ideas to fix it, insist on forcing a sbmm down out throats even though everyone hates it and the general lack of care to the game with things like pinhead crashing the game and the whole shards issue. They don't seem to care as long as they get more sales. Its awful because dbd has the potential to be a fantastic game with more care.

Apparently some people didn't get the correct amount of Bloodpoints when the Hawkins Offerings were removed and it was reported as bug aswell, but as far as I know the Devs never acknowledged or fixed it so the situation is a bit different, but I can understand that people transfer their experience with the offerings on the this situation.

Yes, this is probably what they were talking about: BPs for Hawkins offerings, not for daily logins. I must've misinterpreted it, my bad.

I'm not even sure if I was affected by it, since I didn't bother to count the bloodpoints.

I wouldn't go down that road. That's an argument you'll lose.

Why? Because pure killer mains are in great majority on these forums? Truth does not need to be supported by the masses to be true. The game welcomes it. It's open season.

There is a bully culture on DBD which is practised in many matches. It's 4 on 1.

And the situation is only spiced up by the ridiculous online streamer culture.

Remember the episode of South Park when Cartman keeps referring to himself as "Cartman Bruh"? That's your average SWF player.

Yeah, except every more or less popular streamer is a full time killer main (except Otz and Scott, who don't even play SWF). We had one legendary Canadian survivor main streamer back in the day, who also didn't play SWF, but BHVR cancelled him for some obscure reason, so he stopped making new content long ago. So I have no idea what "streamer culture" you are talking about in context of SWF toxicity.

That’s the thing. Knowing this community it sounds very believable people are lying to talk BHVR down as well. I noticed that the community generally kinda ignores the actual issues but focuses on stuff that not actually happened that way or is outright untrue (even though there is plenty of stuff that went wrong…)

It's not the community's fault the devs have lost all their trustworthiness throughout the years. Fool me once - shame on you, fool me twice - shame on me. BHVR certainly did go much higher than "twice".

  • All "TTVs" I ever met were either offline during the game or had like 3 to 5 viewers, stat-gathering bots included. So basically there is not much difference between so called "TTVs" and ordinary players.

Killers have one real, unearned second chance perk. NOED.

    Survivors have dozens.

NOED is more counterable than any survivor perk in the game. In fact, being that it can be removed before it even activates, with perks/items to facilitate it's removal, I'd say it may be the MOST counterable perk in the game.

But yes, because we're lazy/want to AFK on gens, let's nerf NOED.

    - Oh no, that Bubba is facecamping our teammate, what can we do?!

    - Jeez, are you new? Just slam 'em gens and begone, what else can you do!

    - Oh no, that Bubba has NOED!

    - Jeez, are you new? That was your fault for slamming 'em gens, you should've vacuum cleaned the whole map in search of all 5 totems instead of rushing gens, obviously! Oh, survivors these days...

  • Haven't experienced myself, but people here on forums tell that during some holiday awards for daily logins a lot of people didn't receive the promised rewards, and the devs said "we are looking into it, be patient" and then went to full radio silence about the issue completely. People haven't received the rewards after all, everything was "forgotten".
