Yes, absolutely. These are very broad numbers, do not use them as the basis for your arguments. They do not have enough detail for that.

I would also love this, but just to set expectations realistically, this is becoming increasingly more difficult to do, so we likely won't be able to share those types of stats as frequently as before. Between the number of Killers in the game and such a granular scale of ratings, showing how each Killer performs at each rating range is a very tall order. That's before we factor in things like regions which play a very heavy role (Self-Care in today's stats being a prime example). So I wouldn't say never, but you'll probably see more focused stats like these ones that reflect on something that was changed rather than everything in the game.

If you guys put that information out there showing something as basic as pickrates on perks, those perks then get nerfed... What are players suppose to think? Especially with the perks that were already known to be in an ok spot.

  • So if Botany isn't even in the top 10 are these people legit just using it alone? Oof 😂

  • Just because people are still subscribed for other reasons doesn't mean they can't express disappointment about one of them.

I do. I see it all the time. That includes my thousands of hours watching on Twitch. and my thousands of hours before I switched to Pc from Ps4. Flexing your hours isn't going to help your argument btw.

Coming from the person who just said they aren't afraid to post their profile as proof? You should stick to one.

I ain't flexing my hours, I am just not biting because in my prolonged experience what you are claiming is false. Does it happen? Absolutely. Is it common? Not at all.

Oh absolutely. My personal opinion, that it's dumb, but the reason behind it is theirs only. I'm just laughing that they complain about free stuff. Unless they didn't need the video service to begin with. In which case it's sorta dumb and funny to buy something you don't need

I mean to be fair, it looks bad on BHVR regardless of how absurd it might sound. I understand what you are saying, but at the same time they aren't gonna be let off the hook that easy (no pun intended)

I think 400k as an exclusive reward (the wording PG uses) is pretty yikes when you consider it's not even in-game shards but points that you can easily earn from playing some matches.

They consider them because Survivors demand they do. We also have the fiasco that was the devs comparing DBD to hockey. Like I said, you win when the game says you win. Not when you set a personal goal.

    https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198405376589/stats/381210/achievements/

Yeah, I do play Survivor. More than Killer actually, and I know that's the case. Unlike most on here, I have zero problems posting my profile and my proof.

Oh really? Because in my 7200 hours I don't encounter people goofing around as you claim.

like I said. It's YOUR problem if you subscribe to a service you don't need for random free drops. Because that's really dumb. And if you cancel or don't subscribe, this doesn't affect you anyway

So it's dumb because you think it's dumb?

I'd like to think that whatever people subscribe to and their reasoning is none of other people's business.

Again, moving the goal post. The goal of both should be getting a PIP and BP. You can PIP and get BP as survivor without escaping. You can PIP and get BP without getting a 4k as Killer. Escaping is a bonus, not a requirement. Even if a survivor dies, they can still win. you win when the game says you win, not because of some arbitrary goal you set for yourself.

You don't get to set a higher goal for Survivor than Killer, then complain you didn't meet the higher goal as often as the lower goal.

If the goal was to get a Pip and BP why do they consider killrates at all then?

Also, that still doesn't explain how your line of thinking is that "survivors just like to mess around and that's why they die". When in actuality that isn't even close to being the case. If you play survivor enough you'd know that.

  • @Pulsar said:

    I mean, yeah.

The amount of skill you need to successfully camp someone and win the game off of it is WAY lower than the amount of skill needed to counter it.

Why put in a lot of effort when you can put in none and get the same result?

    #facts

Yet, somehow that question is still met with "But it's a legit strat" .... Like anyone is actually arguing it's legitimacy. 😂

  • @EternalSinOfCain said:

That stats should always have Killers be in that range because first of all : Escape should be rare, not the norm. This is a survival horror game, where's the "Survival and Horror" when you're living half or more of the time? Secondly : You need to account for the reality of how the game plays, not what you "expect" the game to be played like.

After 6 years of DBD I would think the devs have noticed the trends among it's Survivor player base. That the biggest trend being chief among them is simple : Survivor players tend to do stupid things that get them killed.

    Such as :

    1. Trolling the Killer
    2. Trolling each other
    3. Rage Quitting leaving the rest of the team down a player(s)
    4. Killing themselves on hook on purpose cause they didn't like the map, Killer, Perk didn't work, ect.
    5. AFK
    6. Bringing sub-optimal perks
    7. (This is the biggest one) Trying for REALLY stupid plays at the end.

Number 7 is the biggest skewer of stats. Millions of deaths can easily be attributed to survivors just NOT LEAVING when they could have, and should have. What would have been EASILY a 3 man escape, turns into a 3k or 4k. All because the Survivors JUST HAD to go back for the ONE DUDE who got caught at the end. They hook bomb a killer and pay the price.

Basing the games balance on survivors doing optional stupid plays is NOT a good idea. You're putting the Killers at the mercy of Survivors doing the dumbest, most sub-optimal, and frankly "I'm a whiner" plays in order to get anywhere. Meanwhile, Survivors that don't, just PUB stomp Killers cause they aren't going to do stupid crap like that.

Um, why are you pigeonholing survivors as if they all do that?

That's like saying all killers over-commit to chases, never want to break a pallet etc. (Common killer mistakes)

Escape should not be "rare" for the sake of being rare, both sides should have an equal chance of winning.

  • You know what I would like to see?

Stats for how much fun the game became since 6.1.0 because I am willing to bet we all know where that number falls.

  • Killrates mean nothing when there are still acknowledged unfair "strats" that are very common that have yet to have substancial changes. (See Camping and Tunneling)

The game has less to do with skill and more to do with let's see who can cheesy out a mechanic/playstyle the fastest.

That on top of how heavy the RNG is whether it's a sweaty load out vs a non-sweaty one and vice versa. Features still lacking in Solo Q. Mobility still lacking in some killers meanwhile the ones WITH mobility get unneeded buffs. Etc

The game is an unbalanced mess so I actually laugh when the topic of "killrates or escape rates" come up.

  • Wait, I knew he reminded me of someone lmao 🤣

Aren’t people already dodging because of ‘unacceptable’ prestige levels, though? What makes anyone think people wouldn’t dodge lobbies with perk builds? And I guess what does it even matter? There’s clearly a need for more survivor players but BHVR isn’t doing much to rectify it.

No I am not denying that people already don't do this, I am just saying I think it's a lame excuse if this is part of the reason holding it back.

I honestly don't understand why they haven't given survivors the ability to see their perks in lobby. Its only fair. We can see your items in your hand. Why not let survivors see each others perks, I mean its a team game. Why it hasn't happened yet is kinda weird.

It is weird, especially now that they want to create very gimmicky/situational perks.

My guess is that they fear people would dodge if they saw someone with self care etc, but to be fair, not knowing has a more negative effect because handicaps the teammate that COULD have brought That BT perk and other more defensive perks out there.

People don't seem to realize that 'buffing solo to SWF' would be basically designing a whole new game, based around coordinated team play as opposed to 4 scattered survivors working off limited information. Everyone knows SWF is busted, because comms destroy the basic design of the game. And yet they still ask for solo to be as strong as the SWF they admit themselves to be overpowered, presumably for those 'easy wins' they cry about Killers wanting.

lol it’s no longer 2016. SWF isn’t that strong anymore.

There are still situations that even with comms information is meaningless. Because now you have an array of perks which limit the accuracy and amount of information you have on the killer… meanwhile killers have aura -reading perks that are gained passively (Lethal, Scourge hook etc) so I reiterate, it is no longer 2016 when SWF may have been more at an advantage.

So I have to be a killer main to describe bad survivor plays?

You don’t have to be a killer main to describe bad players, but you sound pretty inexperienced yourself if you think only “bad players” is the reason solo queue is bad.

There is coordination that lacks in solo queue and that is mainly due to the lack of design around features that would aid survivors without communication. A ping system, ability to see each other’s perks in lobby, optional voice chat in lobby… I could go on.

You want to pigeonhole every solo queue survivor by making a statement like that and wonder why you are called a killer main.

  • I don’t get it, would it have mattered if they did this at the start instead of the end?

I get it’s frustrating when someone is being unsportsmanlike and working with the killer, but the devs literally cannot make that player not do what they want. You can report them and there is a chance that they can get banned.

  • Evil Dead The Game is nothing like DBD. Thankfully so.

It’s actually more unique than any of the Asymmetrical games out there. Each survivor has their own unique abilities (unlike DBD where everyone is just a vessel using the same perks) You still have to work together to make those abilities make a difference.

The game is very popular in consoles (mostly) but it has the potential to attract more players on PC if they keep releasing new content.

Demon main there, but currently have everyone (demon/survivor) maxed out.

  • The answer is simple: They aren’t reworking how hooks work.

Because if they did, then all this non-sense of getting 10 seconds while a killer just waits it out and also survivors basically throwing themselves because they did 10 seconds is enough to counter would come full stop.

There is a disconnect between them thinking it’s an actual strategy vs what the reality is which is that it makes the game boring when it basically makes killers look like they have 0 skill. There was no mind-game, there was no “catching” it was all cheesed by merely standing by a hook.

So until they can actually understand the why/how Camping is a problem with their game. I am not holding my breath they will actually do anything substantial.

  • I might be in the minority but I don't think that Yun Jin outfit looks good.

  • What do you expect from players that like easy games? Because skill is not.

If you sub to Prime solely for a DbD skin you're weird. You get so much value out of Prime, the random little game stuff is just bonuses.

You get a free sub to send to your favorite streamer, you get a number of free games each month, you can watch all of Prime Video, you can get free delivery on some Amazon orders. The little bundles of in game loot for all the various games they offer is just extra.

If you call that wasted money then you went in with the wrong idea imo.

I mean sure you think it’s weird, but that is beside the point.

Some people have no other uses for prime. Maybe they don’t watch twitch so they could care less about streamers getting a free sub.

Maybe they don’t order from Amazon, so they could care less about free delivery.

It is wasted money if someone isn’t getting what they primarily got it for. It may not be to you but to them it is. It certainly doesn’t make it less of a bad business practice.

  • @LinkToReality said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3178915#Comment_3178915

There has been offers every month for over a year I think for stuff in Destiny 2, not a single one of those has been fully exclusive to Prime Members but also acquirable in the game.

The specific bundle they offer is still exclusive.

Just like how the bundle of all three parts of the Plagues Rift skin for "free" using a redeem code is still an exclusive offer, not offered anywhere else at that time.

Idk about Destiny because I don’t play that game, but I have not seen anything I got in Lost Ark in the in-game store. Leading me to believe that the only way to get that loot is via prime gaming.

To me, it’s misleading advertising and even if there are no merits in the wording to conclude that it is 100% exclusive, it is still bad business when you as a company know that you are releasing a product that you have already released prior… on a platform which some have simply to gain access to an unreleased cosmetic. Those people just wasted money on something that they already bought before. It’s a bad look.

  • I kinda wish Victor could pick up survivors.

Then people wouldn’t complain about being slugged. 😈

  • @TheWheelOfCheese said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3178847#Comment_3178847

Nothing here says every single offer must be exclusive in-game loot. A single such offer for any game (doesn't have to be DBD) in a month is enough to satisfy this claim.

It's only false advertising if you misread it.

So then explain how this isn’t happening in other games because in those Exclusive means that Exclusive. Meaning only prime members will own it.

So yes, it is false/misleading advertisement because the contract (the agreement between the consumer and prime gaming) reads exclusive. There is no fine print or word that says otherwise.

Just because BHVR decides they want to use it loosely when they themselves have exclusive cosmetics in other parts of their game (mobile etc) and should understand how it works, doesn’t mean it’s not.

  • Sometimes unfun does mean unbalanced too though.

  • Considering the different things a killer can do like slug at 5 gens while having a full blown slow down build dedicated to slow the game down as much as possible for them, I think the perk is fine.

  • The linked ones because I buy them for one piece but then end up hating the fact that I can’t mix/match.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3171243#Comment_3171243

Actually the Killer can be technically removed from the game for the other 3 survivors if one is really good at looping. Either the killer commits to get the down or wastes time and goes to a Gen that just pops. Unfortunately that's also why you see 2-3 killers all the time, nurse can't be looped on any map (which is good if you think about it due to how MOST maps are utter garbage for a killer to play through, look at EoC,Both RPDs,and Garden of DC for references) which means survivors need to do things differently and can't rely on spamming a God window. Blight is more or less the same but logic bumb can only take him so damn far in these maps as well.

Keep in mind, these killers are the best available rn. So that leaves the rest of the roster struggling or just below the point to keep up in power level and relevance when you run into sweats at night because they aren't moble or don't have a strong anti loop game like artists.

You can still break chase though. A survivor on the hook doesn’t have the same option.

So no the killer cannot be removed in the same way a survivor can. Because even if we went with that comparison, just based on skill the survivor is doing more.

You have a person looping and applying pressure meanwhile you have a killer just standing around waiting for pressure to come to them.

  • The frustration is understandable but I fail to understand the connection between a bad teammate and killers tunneling and camping.

Some of those complaints come from people who do gens, people who do take aggro, people who do heal and go for saves.

Like, just because one is frustrating doesn’t mean the other is a result of that. Especially considering that most killers camp those who run them for a longer amount of time. So I don’t see how bad survivors are “asking for it”.

  • Or you know actually address the issues on killer side (Camping and Tunneling) which are the two common denominators of why this role feels too easy.

  • @Rogue11 said:

Can you even activate it on someone from above basement? I tried a couple times on different maps and couldn't get close enough.

    Nope.

You have to be downstairs, like actually on the floor where the hooked survivor is.

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3169968#Comment_3169968

    Okay.

    1. Reframe from insulting me

    2. Why should survivors get that time, especially now that survivors get multiple second chance, and a teammate could help pull agro off the survivor?

I’m not insulting you but I think you would have to live in some imaginary land to believe that 3 seconds is actually worth a perk slot. 5 seconds wasn’t doing much to begin with.

Also, please list which “second chance” perks survivors have to counter a killer who is going to tunnel the one survivor immediately off hook. Other than OTR and BT which at this point are the only go to perks actually worth it.

The game isn’t about making sure that survivor stays alive for as long as possible, the other survivors should not be wasting their time trying to take aggro off of someone who is clearly a target. You think the killer can’t just bypass each survivor without hitting them? I’ve literally seen killers down survivors and leave them on the floor and continuing to go for that one person.

The question isn’t should that survivor stay protected for the whole match? No, they shouldn’t but it also shouldn’t mean that a killer can simply cheese a playstyle because there is currently nothing in game that discourages them from doing it.

  • I’m a Myers main and I couldn’t be more against this.

If this was the case, that add on would have to receive a massive nerf. Sometimes it’s not just survivors not paying attention, it’s also map RNG. Something which killers too suffer from and should understand.

  • @MigrantTheGreat said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3169755#Comment_3169755

Further proof of what I said! The community is too far gone in the mindset of 1v1 and not 4v1.

Killers power doesn't matter. You wanna prevent tunneling? Help your teammate out. Take a hit for them, take a chance of getting slugged/hooked for them, instead of asking for 1 perk to give you more breathing space.

You are delusional if you think that asking for a reasonable amount of time to get away from someone who didn’t have to do anything in the first place, but stand there and act like they did something amazing to gain that pressure is a lot.

  • But I like Sadako’s look better.

  • If you want a dead game, sure.

Eventually the devs will realize this was their Achilles heel. Hopefully it isn’t too late for them.

Its not that people hate that they lost a match, it’s that people hate that they lost to THAT. Because there is no skill involved in Camping and Tunneling. Players shouldn’t feel pressured to have to bring the same perks just because something is unbalanced.

Actually I didn't know when breakable walls were added, I only started playing this year. I can kind of see that in some cases but I still like this concept, even if the current game doesn't necessitate it. I just stumbled upon this and thought it was cool.

Thanks! I think this game needs more killer vs survivor interaction by using the maps/environment.

I had made this suggestion as you said a while back with that theme in mind (Before Breakable Doors were introduced). I do not believe breakable doors accomplished that because at times for the killer it feels like a chore, or more like why would anyone ever break this? For survivor, survivors do not interact with breakable doors so for them the only part they worry about is when the killer doesn't break a door and they are in trouble as a result.

1 … 7 8 9 10 11 … 116
