If you are at the top of the MMR, the game is unplayable as a killer, plain and simple.
There are way too many pallets/windows and OP perks as a survivor.
Guys, Truetalent getting between 2 and 5 hooks in most of his trials.
BETWEEN 2 AND 5 HOOKS ALLO

At what sbmm level?🙂
Highest

Fact is killer mains with 10K hours don't win at high MMR without camping/tunneling.
When you have the best killer mains in the world struggling to get 5 hooks, it's concerning especially when you see that those survivors are trash in chases, they are just well coordinated to gen rush. But well developers seem happy about it.

RIP spirit next to Billy, Legion, Nurse
Exaggurating sarcasm aside she will ofc not be way weaker then she is, maybe abit but there would be way better options of making Spirit more fun and fair for the survivors instead of these, its just a lazy quick nerf on her without any thought. Also this will take away her main idea of beeing a "guessing" killer and will turn her into just a "fast chasing killer", so basicly a worse Blight which is just boring, if I want to play Blight then I go play Blight not Spirit with 3 stebs around.
Yup, she totally needed some work to create some counter plays but not like they will do.
She needed a complete rework, not some changes on her abilities.
-
5 hooks, 5 gens. Forced to tunnel to get a kill and to proxy camp to get the 2nd. :)
-
Either when someone else is injured still in chase either when someone else is down on the ground, before the killer grab him/her.

@latinfla4 said:
1) Spirit is getting nerfed while nurse still has blink bugs from forever who is left?
2) map sizes lead to gen rushing without high mobility killers being able to stop it
3) keys/hatches still haven't been reconfigured
4) sbmm in it's current state is to help retain newer players and not scare them off which is fair enough but the same courtesy isnt given to people trying out new killers who have played the game before.
Any others I am missing? Any counter arguments?
Dbd is like a horror movie...Halloween resurrection🤑 mama said knock you out Myers you ain't scary🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yup and Blight is proven to not be so effective against high MMR survivors...
There is no killer left lol.
Some huge streamers have announced they won't play killer anymore... or way less.
Soon, survivors at high MMR will play only one killer : Otzdarva 😂. Queue times might be long guys, be ready.

The problem is people look at this from the perspective of those 3 killers and compare all the rest to them against really good survivors. It is sad, but here's the thing you have to remember.. This is a problem caused by overall game design, not by killer design. "How do we make all killers more viable, then maybe adjust the best ones based on these changes?"
- Maps must be reworked to be balanced (size, layout, pallets and windows).
- Create perks family and make it Impossible to equip two perks of the same family on one survivor. Exemples :
- Survival perks : self care, Unbreakable, Dead Hard, We'll make it, Kindred, Iron Will, BT etc...
- Speed/chase perks : Adrenaline, SB, Lithe, Kindred, DS, Spine Chill etc...
Those are just exemples, the perks' families could be Tier S, Tier A etc...

Listen, I completely understand its a survivor meta right now. In fact, no matter what meta we are in. There is no shot that over 50% of the killers will be viable at a time, at any time in this games life span. Just due to how the game functions. But only 3? It is really pathetic at this point. Only 12% of the killer roster is viable. That being Blight, Spirit, Nurse. Other killers like Pig, Legion, Trapper, etc. ESPECIALLY are just in very sad states. I do not want this killers to be viable, I do not expect them to be. Like I said I expect only like half the cast to be viable while the current C-D tier killers to stay unviable. But for gods sake can you at least make them playable with some small changes?? Trying to play these C-D tier killers at high MMR is just not possible, going against high rank survivors that understand the simple tactics to mitigate the value the killers power gets just proves just how weak they are. Playing an M1 killer against them when they know how to maximize times at every loop meaning you have to leave tons of chases as there is no way you will not waste 3 gens worth of time trying to catch them. especially on maps like Red Forest, it is NOT possible to NOT play one of those viable 3 and being able to end chases and rotate gens on maps like Red Forest in high MMR . and many others, Red Forest is just the biggest offender. They are plenty of small tweaks that could be made to the other 22 killers to help them especially the ones towards the bottom, with pillars of the community and content creators making 2 hour longer videos suggesting changes in detail. and many others suggesting improvements to at least think about. But after all this time I see killer after killer just get forgotten and left to rot. Very disappointing. I took an almost 2 year break expecting the devs to somewhat fix my main, Legion and Legion is still bad on my return about 2 months ago...how?
3 ? You include Spirit in those 3 killers right ? Wait WHAT ?!

We’re back with another Developer Update, a series of posts outlining some of the upcoming changes to Dead by Daylight. You read that title correctly, this is part one; there’s so much to cover this time around that we couldn’t fit it all in one post. (And the writer passed out halfway through typing this.)
Killer Updates
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/10MY7H7HUVMF/bannertrapper.png
The Trapper
Starting things off with a bang (or rather, a snap), we’ve made a series of small changes to The Trapper.
Did you know that the number of bear traps that spawn on the map is random? That’s right, each trial will spawn between 4-6 bear traps at random. Now you can take this interesting little fact and completely forget about it because that’s no longer how it works: now, 6 traps will always spawn (not including the traps you load in carrying). This takes away some of the random element in playing The Trapper and makes each match feel more consistent.
Having more traps is great and all, but wouldn’t it be nice to carry more than one without add-ons? We sure think so. The Trapper will now be able to carry—and start with—two bear traps by default. This will help you get up and running quicker without relying on add-ons. The Trapper’s bag add-ons have been adjusted or repurposed accordingly.
Finally, on the subject of add-ons, we’ve done a pass on some of his least used add-ons and either increased their effects, removed their downsides, or gave them new effects entirely.

The Spirit
The Spirit has been a strong Killer since her release, and with that in mind, we’ve made some changes that aim to increase her skill ceiling whilst also giving Survivors some counterplay.
When close to The Spirit’s husk, Survivors will not receive any indication that The Spirit is phase walking. Originally this was intended to be a fun mind game (“Is she using her power, or is she faking it?”), though in practice, it often doesn’t feel that way. This lack of feedback forces you to make a guess and hope it pays off, which can be great when it works out in your favour, but can also feel awful when it doesn’t.
To add more skill into The Spirit’s counterplay, we’re making two changes:
- Any Survivor within 24m of The Spirit will now hear a directional phase sound. This lets you know whether or not she is phasing and also gives you a rough idea of which direction she’s coming from.
- The Spirit’s footsteps will now kick up dust while she is phasing. Keen Survivors may be able to pinpoint where she is, but tall grass and other obstacles may make it difficult.
These two changes aim to add more skill into playing as and against The Spirit and reduce the reliance on ‘coin flips’ (where you make a guess and hope it pays off).
Additionally, we’ve done a pass on some of The Spirit’s add-ons to bring them more in line and make the lesser used add-ons more appealing. Like The Trapper, some of these changes are small tweaks while others are completely new effects.

Killer Add-ons Update
What does moderately mean? How much more is tremendously compared to considerably? If you ever found yourself in this situation, you’re not alone. We used descriptive words like these to keep descriptions simple, but they end up causing just as much confusion since it’s not immediately clear how much they’re doing. With that in mind, we have done a pass on all Killer add-ons to list their exact effects. We plan to extend this to the rest of the game—Items, perks, etc.—in the future.
On top of that, Killer add-ons that apply a status effect will now have a brief description of what that status effect does.
While our designers were going through hundreds of Killer add-ons one by one to update their descriptions, they also noted down a few for changes as well. There’s far too many to list here, but we’ve changed some add-ons for the following Killers:
- The Hillbilly
- The Nurse
- The Shape
- The Hag
- The Oni
- The Blight
- The Wraith
- The Pig
- The Ghost Face
These changes focus mostly on unused add-ons, or add-ons that are too weak/powerful.

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JMS35MSSKPNS/bannerperks.png
Perks Updates
Variety is the spice of life, and incidentally, Dead by Daylight matches too. In an ongoing effort to give you more options to choose from, we’re updating a huge list of perks. Without further ado, let’s run through some of them quickly:
Vigil
Nice and simple: We’re increasing the recovery rate from 10/15/20% to 20/25/30%. Additionally, Vigil will now increase the recovery rate of the Broken, Exposed, and Oblivious status effects as well (where applicable). In short, more situations where it’s useful, and even faster recovery too.
Babysitter/Guardian
Another small tweak: The rescued Survivor will now receive a speed boost for 4/6/8 seconds in addition to not leaving Scratch Marks or Pools of Blood. The aura reading duration has also been doubled.
For the People
For the People can create some amazing moments, but the trade-off of being Broken can make it very risky to justify using. We’re decreasing the duration of the Broken status effect from 110/100/90 seconds to 80/70/60 seconds.
Hex: Retribution
Previously, Hex: Retribution would only make a Survivor Oblivious if they cleansed a dull totem. Now, interacting with any kind of totem will make them Oblivious. Additionally, we’ve increased the aura reading duration once a hex totem is cleansed to 15 seconds.
Hex: Blood Favor
This perk shipped with very safe conditions so it didn’t get out of control. Upon reflection, we feel comfortable with removing some of these restrictions. Hex: Blood Favor will no longer have a cooldown, and will also activate upon successful Special Attacks as well.
Hex: The Third Seal
Just like the above, we’ve added Special Attacks to Hex: Third Seal as well. This should make the perk more practical on Killers that focus more on dealing damage with their power.
Hex: Thrill of the Hunt
With Boon perks making their way to the game (more on this soon!), we decided to give Thrill of the Hunt some love by extending the speed penalty from Cleansing to Blessing as well.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/UBSSKAL0J967/patchnotesdivider.png
Item & Character Kill Switch
Last but not least, let’s talk about a game health feature: The Item & Character Kill Switch. With over 50 playable characters and their cosmetics, nearly 200 perks and hundreds more add-ons and offerings in the game, sometimes things do break. Rarely, things will break in a way that makes them exploitable, and that can make the next week or two before a fix really rough.
Enter the Kill Switch. (It’s actually a lot nicer than it sounds!)
The Kill Switch allows us to disable anything that’s causing an issue without needing an update. When something breaks and becomes exploitable, we switch it off until it is fixed. This is something we’ve been able to do with maps for a while now to great effect. Disabled items & characters will be clearly marked and cannot be selected.
What this means to you: When that one thing breaks and people start to abuse it, you won’t have to play against it for a week or two until there’s a fix.
With that, we’ll give you a break from reading for today. But we’re just getting started. There’s a lot more to cover, so come back Monday for part 2.
The Dead by Daylight team
Say bye to the Spirit, she goes Tier B now, maybe C 😂
-
One of the best killer main in the game, with a tier S killer, loosing at high MMR, 2 hooks only. PGJSF.
-
Truetalent playing high MMR killer atm.
You guys should have a look about the game's balance.
4 gens done, 1 hook only, about to get the 2nd hook. This SBMM is a joke balance wise.
He cannot do anything, it's like Euro Disney for the survivors lol.
So now put this in perspective, a player, killer main, doing this for a living with 10k hours as a killer can't win at high MMR. What does it mean to you ?
-
Anyway, do you remember this time ? When survivors still called killers OP or the game balanced ?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R98e-Y4Lu8w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1fkX3H84SEA few years later, nothing has changed, i mean in the community mindset, even the end chat is the same lol.

- Giving proof.
- So because you dropped to below 100%, you complain? (let say you're Ronaldo of DBD).
- Then why you brought in "random regional soccer player" talking with "Ronaldo" about soccer in the first place? Wasnt that your metaphor between me being low rank talking with you being top tier player about how game should be balance?
Beside, if you "sweat" at high mmr, you should not be there in the first place. The true rank that a player should be is they can "relax" for 2k.
I can fight toe to toe a cheetah an equal fight and have fun. You sweat to beat up a tiger, what you get in the end? Sweat more to beat a lion? Then lose and complain asking Devs to nerf the lion? What else after that? You can beat the lion then again losing to an elephant and complain some more?
Was my metaphor easy to understand?
You are twisting everything as you like, you are so full of bad faith.
- I won't provide any proof, you are just a baby DbD player, go check the dev stream of the last few years, you will see it. They also divided the stats in two parts : red rank and the rest. They have never lost time around under red rank stats.
- Having a 50% kill rate is not a problem. The problem is how unbalanced the game is with 4 good survivors holding W and having meta perks + items. That's all, if you don't understand this, you are totally dumb.
- Cause it's called a metaphor. You are a low MMR player, so why do you come here to talk about high MMR balance ? Don't you see the link with the metaphor ? You are the unskilled survivor player playing in a random low level league (MMR), coming to me, a high MMR survivor/killer for years, on how to balance the game at my level. Why do you even come on this thread if you have no idea of what is the high MMR scene ? You don't play there so GTFO or maybe do you need attention ?
Everyone sweat at high MMR, that's what you don't understand, survivors and killers. Cause at high MMR there are SWF and soloQ. SoloQ is manageable, SWF and trioQ are impossible to win against unless if you abuse camping & tunneling.
Well the point here is that hold W exist and is too much rewarding for the skill it involves. So now that we provided enough arguments and video evidences, why do you try to change the subject ?
Honestly i'm bored to talk with ppl like you that don't know to stay on a subject when they are proven wrong. Grow up kid.

So going after that logic, you are not one od the best players since its capped and you are playing against better Survivors. That would mean (after your previous logic), that your opinion is irrelevant since you are not one of the best players)??
Survivors are better than killer at high MMR. There is not a single killer main that is better than a good SWF.
Listen, you don't play killer aswell so leave the thread. We don't need your useless comments here as you refuse to see there is a problem and you know why ? Cause you are playing survivor and you are so bad that you think killers are OP :).
Good survivors playing together have been OP for 5 years straight, everyone know it, unless the noobs at this game.

There is a difference between getting better opponents because you improve and getting punished by the game itself with less pallets / movement speed etc.
It's called balance, not being punished. So what ? the killer has to be punished facing 20 pallets, 5 windows, DH, DS, Unbreakable at every trials ?
Best SWF wins 100% of the time against the best killer unless if the player is playing a nurse/spirit.

And where do we draw the line and how do we reward the better players for their nerf? Why would any survivor want to play in higher MMR when they gst punished for that.
Why do some CS GO/Valorant players go pro if it's to be punished with headshots for that ?

Ok you really are serious about this. What is your expectation from the devs? Nerfing survivor speed? Nerfing pallets, better removing them? Buffing killer speed?
The thing is, yes holding Shift W is strong in such situation. Tunneling, Camping and slugging is strong for killers in many situations as well but it is a known strategy and killers will do it and sometimes abuse it.
Do you expect survivor to stand still? Because i heard many killers often cry about looping. Standing still is the last thing survs can do instead, so i assume that you want survivors to stand still. You like challenges, huh?
Expecting the devs to balance the game for both side to be enjoyable.
Look, they have released a SBMM system, it worked as intended at start high mmr with/against high mmr.
But you know what ? They have capped the MMR.
So now what is happening, 2 weeks later only ? You have potatoes survivors that reached the highest MMR and survivor games in soloQ start to be terrible once again.
Developpers mostly take bad design decisions, from map design to perks design, to balance design to SBMM design, anticheat design is crap. Everytime they do something, they fail it somewhere, there is nothing, absolutely nothing about what you can say : "they implemented a new feature and it's great".

How can you be seriously with this? Is this game only made for the best players? All other opinions don't matter anymore?
"hey mom look at me i am the best of all gamers and their opinions are worthless because of that"
You can't be seriously that entitled.
But if yes, let me ask you a question : how can survivor counter getting hits from killers? They can't do anything against its soooooo unfair
Nope it's not made for the best players but a game has to be balanced for high level. It's the only way.
For a survivor to counter getting hit by a killer ? it's the thread subject, Hold W.

Alright sure. I won’t try to win and be forced to watch people tbag at the gate and say ggez in the chat. I’m supposed to be a big bad killer, not a big bad looney tunes character that gets shitted on by what’s supposed to be my prey.
The problem with the "don't sweat" advice is : you don't sweat, you rank down, then you face potatoes, without sweating you get a 3k/4k, you rank up and you get like 2 or 3 trials with sweaty survivors...
So you still have a ton of frustrating matches.

1: Did Devs say the game is balanced around high skilled players?
2: You made a mistake thinking me Im at low MMR because I cant, Im at low MMR because its my choice. To bring fun to everyone, especially new players.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/5OMBS3XRLPQL/image.png
3: If you think you're at level of Ronaldo equal like DBD players, you can also see how absurd it is.
4-5: Again, how do you know?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/0VPEL2QDJ5R2/image.png
One: No slow down
Second: No bag, these matches were to clean useless addons
Third: Lowest survivors score was 15k. That requires 2 Gen with some skill check (5000), 2 safe unhook (3000), some heal (2000), some stun (3000), made some good chase and escape (2000). Proved I didnt tunnel.
Fourth: 4k
Fifth: I sweat.
- yes devs said the game has to be balanced around rank 1 in the old system, so yes.
- old matchmaking system where potatoes were rank 1. I had almost 100% win rate at this time, nothing impressive lol
- never said i thought i was at the level of "Ronaldo" at Dbd, it was a metaphor to compare high skill and low skill. Do you know what a metaphor is ? Did you graduate ?

I wouldn't be so condescending in your dismissals. Here's a grand final match where a Pig gets a 3k:
The truth is that people can win against a top tier swf, and it's not only a Nurse or Spirit which can do it. This disproves the thought that top tier killer streamers end up with 1k.
I don't know whether you're uncertain in your own beliefs which is why you respond with "obviously you don't play at high level to understand this", but it comes across as close-minded that people may actually have an alternative opinion originating from their own experience.
But you're attitude needs adjusting. I'll end my correspondance with this topic here.
Plot twist : everyone admits that the survivors in the tournament were not that good.
Plot twist 2 : there are perks/items limitation (1 DH/DS/SB/BT/SH)
Plot Twist 3 : killer camped & tunneled
So ye it changes totally the balance of the game. Now give all 4 survivors DH/DS/BT and it's another story.
Something else ?
Do you want 100% of camp/tunnel trials ?
The fact that you posted this video without even considering the rules of the tournament shows how delusional you are. Bad faith from you, clearly :).

You're telling me you have the right on not allow me taking?
Nope, but i don't see why you come on this thread arguing about something you don't know. A game has to be balanced around high skilled players, not the bottom level.
So you play at a low or average MMR, why do you come here while you have no argument at all as you face potatoes survivors ?
It would be like a random regional soccer player going to C. Ronaldo to explain how does soccer works and how to git gud at it... Do you see how absurd it is ?
So if you have no idea of what it's like to play at high MMR when both sides are good, what is the point to talk ?
It reminds me some unfit ppl coming to me and trying to explain me how fitness works while i have a FFMI of 22 with 10% bodyfat. That was so ridiculous.

Because you said continue chase is impossible, then why still chasing them? Since you also said they will heal and go back to Gen, then so why change target? In the end, why play killer...?
- It's funny how you can defend such a gameplay design while it's just broken.
Then tell me how should survivors play if they dont W? Loops? I think not because you will complain about how broken looping. Standing still for hitting. I guess thats the answer.
- Do you even play killer at high mmr against SWF the hold W ? I don't think so.
Im proudly say I dont play at high mmr. Because my goal is to have fun and 4k isnt my fun. I once though 4k was my fun, but it wasnt. It caused by toxic survivors asked me to sweat and I know how to avoid it.
HIGH mmr is there for a reason, its a place for sweat. You sweat, I dont.
Then you are not allowed to talk about balance. You play at low MMR, you don't know what is the balance of this game.

If all a survivor needed to do is "hold w" for win, how come 4k and 3k wins for killer exist? What about lower ranks where that happens when less experienced survivors pretty much just do thay against less experienced killers?
If it was truely broken, the killer role would be impossible. As it happens, it's not and with regards to facing high MMR against SWF, you are forgetting all the many factors that go into the pacing of the trial, tactics used, etc.. I've been destroyed by Red Rank swf and also defeated with 4k Red Rank swf, and I can say without any shadow of a doubt that there are ways to catch up, tactics to deploy and ways of going about the pace of a game to win.
Because unskilled survivor are waiting at pallets and try to loop, it's as simple as that. Unexperienced players never use the "Hold W". But obviously you don't play at high level to understand this.
And winning as a killer against a good SWF is impossible with almost all killers. You should check the best streamers and see them playing when they face a good SWF, they end up with a 1K.

killer is more bad than the survivor so, dunno maybe git gud
All other killers are not bad, they are just outplayed by the game design, nothing else. Every 5k streamers say that Hold W is concerning but you guys come here saying it's nothing. 😂
But why ? Because you are survivor mains and you like it to have it ez. Or if you don't see the problem and think killers are OP or have all they need to counter survivors, it's you who should git gud at playing survivor.
I was a survivor main for a few years and i know the power of Hold W. I even abuse it when i play survivor.
To conclude i would like to show you how pitiful you guys are. At the start of this thread you were all like, X outpace, Y outpace, Z outpace, A is ranged bullshit.
And now that we provide proofs that there is no counter play you are all like "deal with it" & "change target".
What is the word to qualify ppl like you in a professional environment ?

Gunslinger has range. 1 hit sprint boost + 1 pallet to break, look at the distance between the killer and the survivor... continuing the chase is impossible.
I suggest to injure them then leave them and go for another survivor? Because if the game is designed to be impossible, why complain in the first place?
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NTT2BI5IAWOM/image.png
(most of the time 5 Gens are around the edge & 2 in middle)
Example you hit a survivor and he W straight to 1 of 7 paths. Which path he goes that will not cross his team mate Gen and get disturbed? None. And you pressure 2 survivors + 1 Gen
It doesn't change that you have 0 down doing so.
So you suggest to injure and change target. Okay, the first target go heal somewhere where there is no point of interest on the map (gen already done, dead area etc...) and then comes back in.
Meanwhile you have chased another survivor that hold W in another direction.
It's funny how you can defend such a gameplay design while it's just broken. Do you even play killer at high mmr against SWF the hold W ? I don't think so.

That's what is boring on this forum, ppl playing one side only and thinking that they know better than those who play both sides what is balanced or not, what is fair or not.

Holding W has always been an option in this game
Only reason that people are taking it seriously now is because a certain influencer starting prattling on about it and the mindless masses are just parroting it.
Survivors need a way to widen the gap between hits, end of story. Deal with it.
It's not parroting, every high skilled survivors and SWF uses it. In the evening in EU, at high MMR it's full of Hold W survivors and it works perfectly.
And no, it's the developers' job to force interactivity between both side and holding W is not and interaction, there is nothing fun about it.
https://youtu.be/43XvMLsCx98?t=468 https://youtu.be/CzbN3cs9ZwI?t=205 https://youtu.be/kp98JhcfRRc?t=415Tell me where is the skill involved there ?
Chase are 50/60 seconds long. They have just hold W. All 4 survivors doing it in all chases ? 12 minutes without any mindgame or skill involved. Go straight forward.
How can you say it's healthy for the game ?

Spine Chill only tells you the killer is approaching, it doesn't tell the direction. I play a lot of Ghostface and Wraith and the amount of times survivors literally run into me is astonishing.
Never said they were efficient, I'm just against people who say holding W is automatic win, instead of admiting they are simply not good with those killers.
Holding W is insta win with a coordinated team. You don't need more to win a game. If all 4 survivors hold W in every chases and the others are doing gens, it's a win, period.
There are so many SWF abusing it and when they end up in a jungle gym or in a loop they can't do anything and they are outplayed in 15 seconds. But by holding W, they can make the chase long enough to get the final win.

...But a lot of Killers counter this?
Nurse and Spirit can pretty much just land on top of you whenever they want.
Blight has amazing speed to catch up with Survivors with- so do Billy and Oni. (Who can both also insta-down, negating the M1's entirely in some scenarios.)
Bubba also has insta-down capabilities, allowing him to negate the M1 issue.
Wraith is chugging speed these days and can catch up to Survivors- allowing him to body block them from certain structures, or just leave them and come back to get them later in worse spots. (Which is what every Wraith seems to do these days anyway.)
Hag doesn't want to chase outside of her web, so it doesn't really matter for her.
Trapper is somewhat similar to Hag- it doesn't matter how much distance you get if you step in a trap near him.
Huntress doesn't have a long cooldown between Hatchets, and can snipe from a distance. Plague can do something similar with Corrupt Purge up (Along with not having to worry about the speed boost issue as much due to making Survivors broken, if memory serves correctly.) Deathslinger can still snipe from a distance as well- even if it's not as well.
Viktor can out run a Survivor.
Myers and Ghostie, while not strong Killers by any means, also have insta-down capabilities.
And STBFL exists, allowing multiple hits quickly with max stacks.
Idk, I agree that holding W can be a crappy thing to verse depending on the Killer, but at the same time, I don't think it's awful? I mean, I just think it's a part of a Killer's job to also know when to drop chase or realize when they spent too long on something, and considering how many Killers that can quite literally ignore many aspects of it or don't really care, I don't think it's that big of a deal.
I play survivor & killer.
I know that when i hold W, most killers (high mmr) give up and stops the chase or they loose a ton of time.
As a killer, it's exactly the same, you see the survivor 18 meters away, you know you will need a ton of time to catch up. And then you will have to face a pallet loop. Well...
-
Brrr... i was able to go straight from Rank 20 to rank 1 with trapper without loosing once. Being rank 1 for 4 years doesn't mean anything. Survivors were total potatoes.
-
On this forum, you will still have players going against the plain truth, with numbers and mathematics calculation.
In this community, some ppl are able to tell you that the earth is flat no matter the elements you will bring to prove that it's not.
Hold W is the most effective way to play as a survivor with some looping in-between to force the killer to loose time breaking a pallet.
I use it at high MMR and killers never catch me, they give up before catching up... If they don't give up, 3 to 4 gens will fly when they will end the chase.

Psst I have played over 4k hours - with about 60% of that as killer. Please check my post history - I am a 50/50 killer who sides with killers and survivors on various issues. trying to paint me as a survivor main - shows your bias - not mine :)
Then explain us how you win against a 4 "Hold W" survivor team :).

Imagine complaining about Devour Hope.
I also rarely see DS + Unbreakable since the DS nerf. I can't even remember the last time it affected my killer gameplay either.
NOED is the only perk on your list that needs to be nerfed/reworked.
Many survivors use DS at high MMR.
@JohnWeak said:
Share the perks used by the survivor you face.
100% of the trials at that MMR are like this. It's unbearable. When one has a "loop" build it's ok, when all of them has it, it's a problem.

Except with:
Blight - Rush speed = 9.2m/sec
Nurse - Blinks
Wraith - Cloaked speed = 6m/sec
Spirit - Phase walk = 7.04m/sec
Oni - Demon Dash = 7.82m/sec
Legion - Frenzy = 5.2m/sec
Executioner - Ranged
Deathslinger - Ranged
Billy - Chainsaw= 9.2m/sec
Huntress - Ranged
Bubba - Chainsaw = 5.29m/sec
Hag - teleports
Clown - Tonic reduces survivor run speed by 5%
Freddy - Teleports AND Dream snare reduces survivor run speed by 15%
Demogorgon - Shred = 18.4m/sec
Trickster - Ranged
Plague - Ranged Corrupt Purge
Twins - Victor run speed = 6m/sec
Cenobite - Chains negate sprinting
But yes please tell me how killers have no way to negate holding W :)
Cause you don't know what you are talking about as you only play surv :). I will leave you do the maths as you seem pretty smart.
Wraith - Cloaked speed = 6m/sec --> decloak can be abused at pallets
Spirit - Phase walk = 7.04m/sec --> 16 meters away, she phases, you walk, she doesn't know where you are
Oni - Demon Dash = 7.82m/sec --> does he have DD all the time ? and in the meantime you have found a pallet is he viable in loops ?
Legion - Frenzy = 5.2m/sec --> Frenzy doesn't last and just injure
Executioner - Ranged --> Slowed down when doing the spell, 8 meters only, we are far from the 16 meters, and aiming in straight line with it is impossible against a good survivor. Do you play him ? Ah no, okay. Come in private and try to hit me with the power in straight line, we will have plenty of time to discuss.
Deathslinger - Ranged - pretty easy to dodge, he is slower
Billy - Chainsaw= 9.2m/sec - chargin with chainsaw ? 90° angle and he has to stop and get another stun
Huntress - Ranged - easy to dodge at this distance - she is slower
Bubba - Chainsaw = 5.29m/sec - Bubba in straight line ? Ok baby survivor
Hag - teleports - ok for this one, if traps are set, she is slower though
Clown - Tonic reduces survivor run speed by 5% - ok, aim at 16 meters away
Freddy - Teleports AND Dream snare reduces survivor run speed by 15% - You hear and see when he is teleporting, snares are in loops, not in the middle of nowhere
Demogorgon - Shred = 18.4m/sec - BS, the jump is 11 meters and then he has a 1,5 stun :)
Trickster - Ranged - Ok, but he is weak in loops
Plague - Ranged Corrupt Purge - lol... i won't comment
Twins - Victor run speed = 6m/sec - ok for victor that doesn't see tracks, you knew it right ?
Cenobite - Chains negate sprinting - Cenobite is stopped while using the spell, actually it's a short range spell to be effective, use it at long range and it's a waste of time.
You should play killer and obviously improve as a survivor if you don't know that atm "Hold W" is the best way to survive as a survivor. And don't talk to me as a killer main, i'm a survivor main and i surely outplay you so you can keep your sarcasm and your lack of knowledge about how does playing killer works.
All the exemples you gave show clearly that you don't know how those killers' powers work. 😂

@GrimoireWeiss said:
That's considering every killer is Trapper without traps and maps are just infinite flat lands like the Abyss on Dark Souls.
They are infinite flat lands. You can literally cross the map on every map without any problem. If you face a SWF that hold W in every chase, you won't do anything with most killers. It happens rarely but some SWF does it and it's impossible to counter.

Nurse will outpace
Blight will outpace
Wraith will outpace
Billy will outpace
Victor will outpace
Spirit will outpace
Oni with Demon Dash will outpace
Freddy will teleport in front of them
Demo will teleport in front of them and can close an 11 meter gap as it's attack.
Hag will teleport on top of them and hit them
Huntress will snipe
Deathslinger will pull
lol bs for most of them.
Wraith, you can abuse pallet and force him to uncloak before breaking it, gaining time and drawing distance.
Billy will outpace but is totally weak in loops
Spirit will outpace but see nothing and you have other things to work around.
Oni with Demon Dash will outpace but is easy to counter aswell in small angles.
Freddy will teleport in front of them : nope, you can see when he teleports, doesn't work
Demo will teleport in front of them, nope again, you hear him when teleporting and he has to find or create a tunnel to do so (loosing time). The jump is a fail attack and stuns him 1,5 seconds, drawing more distance (6 meters)
Huntress will snipe, hatchet are easy to avoid, especially at those distances.
Deathslinger will pull, same as huntress.

All survivors got to do is run in a straight line its bad for 115 but worse for 110. There's probably no fix for it but damn survivors get looping smh
There is a fix, forcing the survivors to loop to outplay a killer. How ? Decreasing their running speed.
A survivor running in straight line should be caught in 5 seconds top by a killer.
SWF using W meta is unbeatable if you don't play nurse or blight.
-
This forum full of survivor mains finding totally normal that the W meta exist and works.
See the killer ? Hold W straight forward to a pallet, early drop the pallet, hold W straight forward again, get a hit, hold W straight forward again, dead hard to a pallet, early drop it, hold W straight forward again = 90 seconds are away, 3 gens pop.
Actually, looping is less efficient than holding W most of the time as with looping, the killer can outplay you, with hold W, it's impossible.
The current state of the game is trash, a survivor that hold W is not worth chasing as you will loose too much time doing it. 4 survivors that hold W ? Ye then it's over, this plus the numbers of pallets/windows on the map that are enough to allow them to block the way and continue to go straight forward is a joke.
At this point, just remove all the pallets and windows.
BHVR is happy.
Edit : just read this "high skilled survivors know that holding W is the best way to play"
BHVR that is totally unable to balance the game and create flaws that can be exploited to win. Nothing is fair in this game, it's just exploiting flaws to win.

It is used often because the pool of strong Survivor-Perks is so small. And especially Exhaustion Perks are way too situational for the most part. Killers wanted Balanced Landing nerfed, Devs nerfed it and now Killers are surprised that so many Survivors are using Dead Hard. Guess what, this happens when you reduce the number of strong Survivor Perks.
And if the Devs nerf DH at some point, we will see many Sprint Bursts and Killers complaining about Sprint Burst, because SUDDENLY with great surprise, everyone will run Sprint Burst.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2511683#Comment_2511683
This idea is really bad. You should be totally free in what you want to play and not be limited by things like others running the same Perks.
Well then let everyone use DH, DS and the rest, killers will be buffed so much that survivors will enjoy their trials :).
I play 50/50 and i cba listening what we call "mains" players talking about anything. When you play exclusively or almost exclusively one side, how can you know what needs to be balanced ? Ah ye, you can't :).

this is my opponents games every match 90% of the time. Every single person who milks this build has no skill as survivor in my opinion
sbmm isn't gonna do anything when this exists. It needs to go
No need to nerf it, lock it down to one survivor only. Some perks should be impossible to be equipped once already used by 1 survivor : DS, DH, Unbreakable.

I am pretty sure it used to be uncapped and it resulted in 1 hour long queue.
If so, at the end, when everyone will have its MMR accurate, the new system will be exactly as the old one. 😂
Well, honestly i understand why they wanted a SBMM system but i don't understand why they made it a priority while the game is totally unbalanced... it's beyond my comprehension capacity.
-
SBMM was accurate at start, after like 50 trials played.
But as it seems the MMR is capped, it is obvious that the top mmr will be reached by players of different skill level. Atm, at high MMR you have a skill level between middle+/Top 0,1%.
And more time passes, more players will end up at the top even though the skill difference between them is huge. BHVR must uncap it.

Playing Survivor is ez, but still isn't rewarding when you keep the killer busy even when you don't choose to be chased.
I'm going to sit here and wait for EVIL DEAD to release or VHS...something that would actually feel fun.
Wish yall the best and hope DBD wakes up and addresses the many issues.
I really hope evil dead will be great, can't wait to see more about it.
