No one got banned for the Tinker bug, so why would they ban for this bugged perk? I find it funny people jumped to ban after the whole Legion blade bug... which is still bugged by the way you just have to run a perk now to get it to work. Also the people who say running said bugged perk would ruin other people's experiences are also the same people who they themselves would probably be a d*** for no reason to other players no matter what side they are playing... Killer or survivor. This game is filled with bias salty people who try to act all high and mighty and it would be better if people just owned up and moved on. As well as trying to actually talk balance and fixes without it turning in to "KilLeR MaIn BtW" or "SuRviVor vS. KilLeR mAiN" sort of discussion.
Are you sure it still works it was suppose to be 'fixed' again. Check new patch notes.

Welp just got a DBD update on my ps4 can't help but think it is the atrocious "hot-break" the devs are trying to force on us, seriously way to turn…
@TrueKn1ghtmar3 I think they fixed the wrong issue. The range center was fine but they are right times it would proc because of stupid camera angle. The angle was odd the survivors head almost had to block ghostface for it to work as intended. Which made you see nothing which was the problem people generally put him in the middle of the screen, but not at that angle.

@Victor_hensley said:
They compensate by removing the "wind" sound while night shrouded, chill.
They fixed an issue that didn't need fixing. Range extension the only real problem was the angles you had to be to get it to proc.

I don't think so because it would be totally stupid.

I haven't gotten to play but I think they need to adjust the camera angle in which you can reveal ghostface since it is currently in an awkward angle. Then remove the extra 4% extended reveal range.
-
I think we have a new patch that fixed the bug. So it should be back to its normal state <3
Edit: added the picture of the bug fixes.

@Jdsgames Because it encourages witch hunting. I've been an attempted victim of it before (not in this game though) and the worst part was, I didn't do anything I was accused of allegedly doing.
Thankfully I was known enough by most people of the community that the person got called out on their BS and karma was served, but just imagine if I was a nobody and they were a somebody, or people just believed them at face value. It can turn nasty very quick.
In your case I can be sympathetic. However, for people exploiting, cheating, and saying stuff like what is mentioned in this post why hide them? I mean ggez and things like noob killer are lightweight. Why protect the people that look to make chat miserable?

Freddy, Leatherface, and end game pig are all bad, but Myers is still considered an A tier killer, and GF can be good once they iron his bugs out. And Pig still can be decent with stalling the game if RNG is on her side, which is why she is considered bad.
Ghost Face is being nerfed not Ironed out. Piggy RNG is not balance. Myers is A tier when survivors play stupid and let him get the stalk off. You can keep a myers in EW1 for at least 3 gens before he can stalk you.
-
None, because they butcher them all!
Freddy was dekillerascated.
Piggy's Power went to the market.
Stalky Boy Myers lost his amazing BL with EW1.
Leatherface left the Massacre game along time ago. Now he sits silent in a basement.
Now we have Ghost Face.

I think it's fine. Besides, it sucks so many times when I'm the obsession the killer knows I have DS and they down me after the unhook and purposefully leave me on the ground for the full minute. Does that happen to anyone else?
I mean it is quite obvious. Although, running Dying Light has taught a few pesky players that DS is both a good perk for survivors and can be an even greater perk for the killer <3

I would make the following changes on Offerings.
All offerings are secret or team based. A survivor shouldn't be able to dc against a mori. A killer shouldn't be able to dc against bad mist. (Fair Gameplay)
Secret - Nobody sees the offerings other than the one they put. This would make it more dependent on your knowledge of how certain offerings work together rather than being told straight out.
Team Based - The team (Survivors) see all survivor offerings, killer only sees theirs.
I would also implement new offerings.
Ones that grow/shrink the exit gate distance once they manage to balance them to a set distance range. (This makes EGC both Killer and Survivor Friendly)
Killer Offering - Hatch change keeps requirement of 2 gens completed. This could be a surprise for those teams that dc to unlock hatch at 5 gens remaining. Not only did you think you would exploit dcing or chose to suicide, you lost points for nothing. (Should have stayed in the game)
The following two weigh the game in the favor or balance out how a game would be played. More gen spots would be needed.
Killer Offering - Closer Gens (Proximity between gens will be shorter)
Survivor Offering - Farther Gens (Proximity between gens will be larger)
Totems: This can create fun mix-up in meta.
With this change I would give Small Game a counter for Totems, and Traps (Separated)
Killer Offering - Extra totems! (Add 2 dull totems extra to the map)
Survivor Offering - Reduce Totems (Remove 1 totem from the map)
Killer &/ Survivor Offering - All Knowing (For the first <time frame> seconds of the match see everyone's aura)
-
I personally think Spirit is only so strong because the lack of visuals and bugs. No vault animation, the passive phasing is gone, sound is bugged on phasing anyway. Standing animation is the same as phasing. Delay of sound between you hearing phasing and the spirit actually starting to phase and move. You almost feel cheated at times. However, billy by far has speed and instant-down on his side. So it is almost a tie, however, in general design and not lacking visuals/bugs billy is the more stable killer.

Here is the common situation - a survivor saves you, the killer is coming back to tunnel cause he wants to catch you close to the hook to speed up the kill. The one that saves takes a hit to protect you and they often will take another hit and go down close to the same hook. Now he is on the hook in exchange for you and the killer is back to following your scratch marks in the direction you were headed listening for injured noises to continue the tunnel on you. Really easy on many maps.
So you were farmed and you believe the killer should be punished for a bad play on your team's part?
Edit: On Second Thought: Why were you so close to the hook at this point in the first place? You have the initial hit for you to start running off with weapon wipe. Them being chased and hit again. The animation of weapon wipe, pickup, walking back and hooking. Then they have to get close enough to you to start seeing the scratch marks again. To me it seems like you camp near where you got unhooked. Seems to me this can be solved with a perk that is fairly never used called Lightweight or the common Urban Evasion to get away quickly.

hey for the people that say the old,
you agree to terms and they can do what they want... no that is not true at all. At least in the EU, cause when your "User Agreement" or whatever you call it conflicts with the law, the terms get nullified.
Tell me is it okay in the states when you make "User agreement" point 5.0 Signing these you become a slave to the other party.
Will that hold up in court? I doubt it.
Generally, in any court the intent is what is looked into. Before your purchase you acknowledge the TOS/EULA if they stated in the TOS/EULA that they reserve the right to make changes to content as they deem fit. You acknowledged these changes could be made before purchasing the item. Almost every game has it. BHVR is using these changes to better balance the game. They didn't change it for their own fun and games.

It's great that they realize it's an issue, but 2 maps per year means this issue will realistically never be addressed in full.
Well, see from what that dev stream showed awhile back. Is that the loop changes are its own fix. Then the rework is essentially remastering all the tiles and how the layout is. Almost like remaking the maps. We have already seen major improvements in some maps totem placements/conceal attempts. So it might be an all in one change with loops. Which will benefit slower killers. Then we might overtime see more reworks and maps with this in mind. So we would be fixing older maps not fixing all maps.

So now you're talking 40 minute games basically because the only way you're stealthily doing totems is slowly much less if you even find them. Sounds to me like you can't down survivors until your garbage perk activates and you'd be salty if they nerf it.
Also your scenario implies SWF
SWF doesn't even make it to end game even when abusing bugged perks. I still bet you the totems were not done.
Dude you run noed omg noob killer ggez.

We do know about it and we are working on a fix. We still need to discuss how we'll handle this, but even if we do decide to ban people who are abusing it (like the Legion blades exploit), there is no need to report it. We can see everyone who's abusing it.
Pretty sad when they even exploit the game and still can't win. Either way have you guys decided on what yous are gonna do about these players? I personally find it unfair to ban legion players that used 'infinite' mending add-ons which essentially are a 'perk' for a killer's power. Yet, a perk erasing the survivor objective which is almost the exact opposite seems to be questioned? Because it is clearly being abused the same fashion.
(Would be neat if these players were forced into matches vs noed/devour hope/haunted grounds that seem to be 'bugged' and always have max stacks and in effect. Would consider it fair play LOL)

@se05239 said:
It actually used to deteriorate by itself if you could break line of sight with Ghostface but it made him feel really weak as he was wasting a lot of time if survivors just kept running away.
I don't think they want the exposed to be reset. Simply having the detection Linger. I would give this advantage given they reduce the sound the killer makes like threads have suggested. (Also fixed LOS detections)
-
Would be a higher rank but queue times are horrid. Although, I can say even without 'sniping' she still has plenty of potential. The main thing that kills are are sections where the loops are a certain length where bloodlust and following are nil. Essentially an infinite for lower than 115% killers. Which due to poor LOS detection there are many on a few of the coldwind maps and autohaven at times. However, this is again perkless and don't comment on the dc they pulled the ripcord once they couldn't complete a gen in front of me and got grabbed. Although, Yamoka Estate is by far the worst map to play as Huntress.

Yupp let's add more time than Ruin takes making people need to run to, find, and cleanse every totem because a killer MIGHT have a perk that rewards him for being bad.
How about the team plays stealthy and goes for totems first?
Killer is already busy prowling gens. Nab 2 or 3 totems before anything happens. Sounds to me like you are thinking about totems too LATE in your game.

Do you guys see these in your game? Rub them for a bit especially the UNLIT ones. I heard that if one of these UNLIT ones are on the map once the gens are complete NOED takes root. I don't know about you guys but that seems a GOOD STRATEGY to PREVENT it.

I've never really had an issue with the prices. I prefer it to buying 50 loot boxes in the hope you will get the one you want.
Remember they are not Loot Boxes EA has specifically let us know they are 'Surprise Mechanics.' Please address them properly. Although, it is still 2x the cost of the character itself. I mean I would rather them put some effort into more varied maps.
-
I have noticed this a bit and playing in swf I think I know the true cause. I have loaded in swf games (Lightweight not tryhards) with a few friends. If one of us has really bad ping the lobby will generally load for two of us then we wait for the final person or whatever to load in. However, survivors are currently getting the infinite load bug. From my understanding the Killer's Lobby is holding on to waiting for that person to connect. However, due to infinite load it does not ever load in. Since the spot is technically 'taken' it is not gonna sort another player into your lobby.

@se05239 i know it does but i've seen the outcry. thats why i proposed a solution.
I have over 2000 hrs. What is your point exactly? Still bad idea. Learn to play stealthy.

The complaint I think is they are not readying up.
In all honesty if you made it so you couldn't switch in the actual game lobby you would have to go in coordinated with how you think the game is gonna go.

@Jdsgames I don't see why you'd nerf the majority of all good add-ons in order for this change to be implemented. Seems like a lot of effort for a negative change. I rather have a few rare powerful add-ons than drowning in mediocre ones.
Yes so we can have. Survivors keep forms of top tier items. However, god forbid I can barely keep brown add-ons in stock.
To which no I am not pooring points into these two. I have other survivors/killers to prestige. However, as my main two characters I specifically can tell a difference in who is more stacked constantly. Yet survivors have chests and perks to farm items quickly. Where is the equivalent? Simply put there is none. Giving a chance at keeping add-ons would be fine.
-
@se05239 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/523822#Comment_523822
@Jdsgames You do realize that your suggestion would mean that killers use their best add-ons since it'd give them the best chance to 4k more often? Do you really wanna face an insta-down hatchet Huntress everytime you end up in a trial as a survivor? I wouldn't.
Killers need to lose their add-ons after every trial, unless they burn a Black Ward. That's just how it should be. Their add-ons are supposed to be strong and game-changing so letting them keep one or both after a good game.. that shouldn't happen. It'd just cause the circle to happen again, and again, and again.
I didn't say all the op addons should stay as they should be did I? I simply understand the amount of bps have to be poured into killer to get a set of 'op' add-ons. Hell I have probably done 20 bloodwebs trying to get a judith's tombstone so I can try Evil Incarnate and HOPE that I don't get dcing players.
-
This would work for lower-tier killers. However, this would make higher tier killers extremely overpowered. They need to make all killers roughly in the power range of Huntress before you can balance out the survivor objective. Right now due to the extremely wide power spread it would be impossible to implement a mechanic that didn't heavily make certain killers impossible to play against.

@Jdsgames There are windows in every house on Haddonfield. If you didn't jump when I got to the top and put a trap down on the top of the stairs AND in front of both windows.. that's on you. You can easily disarm traps. It takes a whole 3 seconds to render his power useless until he comes back, picks it up and arms it (2 seconds) again. They changed it awhile back because it kept clipping into the ground but they never fixed the hitbox since. It use to be okay but now its worthless. If you think disarming a trap is a big deal then I don't know what else to tell you. I'm guessing a 4 second 1-shot chainsaw in a small corridor is better?
If you place the traps a certain way at the tops of stairs not only are they underneath the top but you can't disarm them if they are not peeking over. What I have been saying is that it would be exploited. Nothing more. You seem to be jumping to conclusions. There is a difference between survivor detecting there is a trap to disarm and hitbox to snap on you. However, those corners of traps will also trigger the trap. What is happening is the hitbox of the survivor is small enough to fit on the sides. However, as I said you should not be able to permanently trap off an area and simply say 'oh they should have stayed' All traps no matter where should be disarmable simple as that. Do I believe he should have traps pre-spawn open yes, do I believe they should be easier to carry and use yes. I am simply saying to avoid exploiting it the traps shouldn't be increased in size.
-
@AStupidMonkeyy said:
@Jdsgames The whole point is to trap people and cut off areas like this. A bigger radius would mean you could deactivate it farther away. If I can get caught in my own trap, you should be able to. Simple as that. You want to keep facing Nurse, Spirit and Billy? This is how.
That would cut off an entire gen without being able to get past. I am simply saying if you extended the range on the trap above it would elimintate an entire objective which is not fair either. I agree in cases like pallets/loops yes these bugged sides are a problem. But I can also be unbiased and say at the top of stairs if you could not bypass them would break many maps. Haddonfield has generally two or three gens sometimes at the tops of houses. You would force someone self-suiciding to get past.
If the traps were to be larger so should the disarm. That way stairs are not completely denied.
-
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/225/P28ZB1CBA14Z.png Literally ran right past it. Really?
Although, this would benefit the trapper in many cases it would be abused. There are several times you can't deactivate certain trap spots. That being one of them if you can't get past it at times.
