In the end, the game cannot exist without players for both roles so it's always good to extend some gratitude to the other side. Thanks to OP for making a post to remind us all of this. :)
-
I enjoy playing survivor too, but I find the killer role way more engaging and fulfilling overall. Plus, my killer queue times are always way faster and more BP.
-
Nevermind. Apparently he left before he knew about it. Great timing on his part.

Wonder if McLean left because of this? https://twitter.com/mclean_yep/status/1446489715037904921?s=21
Probably.
-
Same as top post. Survivors stepping in your traps as Trapper is still so satisfying.

Funny you should say that. The biggest scare I ever had in this game, was when playing Killer. I was randomly looking for a people to chase in a match and walking through a pallet (did not know anyone was nearby, was heading off to a gen on the other side of the map), and a Claudette just dropped the pallet on me, it was so unexpected I jumped out of my chair and screamed!
I completely agree! I almost always jump if I get randomly pallet stunned, mostly because it's so unexpected! At least when I play against Jump Scare Myers I know to look out for him.
-
Lol, that's what is so funny about this game sometimes. The survivors aren't only afraid of the killer, but the killers are afraid of the survivors.
-
Can't beat the double BP and the aura reading encourages me to not camp. Still one of the best designed killer perks in the game IMO.
-
Could be interesting if a survivor gets sick and broken at the right time against Plague.
-
I pretty much always run Ruin and Pop if I have it on that killer. Sometimes I'll just opt for Pop and BBQ if I don't feel I need the extra slowdown and/or need the extra BP at the moment.
-
I used both Iri's, got a down with the one hatchet and then never reloaded all game. It was surprisingly fun and effective, although I was running Monitor and Nurse's, so that helped. Also got Lery's as the map so that worked out in my favor. I think the Soldier's Puttee add-on throws off survivors because they don't expect you to be that fast and it gets you some free hits.
-
5.0.0 and the 5th anniversary event.
1. It was genuinely upsetting how broken the game was for console that I refused to play. I have every 4th anniversary crown for both killer and survivor at the time, but I didn't care for getting a single 5th anniversary crown as a testament to how upsetting I found the state of the game to be.
2. Platinuming Resident Evil: Village
-
Yeah, everyone was really confused on the usefulness of the gateway/chain distance add-ons until they realized using it to interrupt solving the box helps keep chain hunt going. Now people will probably call them OP lol. Really hope they don't nerf his add-ons too soon (other than maybe Engineer's Fang it's so good). It's strange but really nice to have a good killee with good add ons.
-
Changed the title to be less confusing.

You don’t like doctor’s New Testament worth of add on descriptions?
Doctor is one of my favorite killers, and I think he has some of the most interesting add-ons in regards to how they change gameplay. But the icons themselves are pretty boring. Just a bunch of files that all look the same.

What exactly do you mean by appearance and theme?

Appearance… of add ons? I’m super confused, please elaborate.

I am thinking the same thing.
If you mean relevancy to the character than D tier makes no sense to me

I think OP means how the icons of the add-ons look.
Glitchoi is correct. I'm referring to the look of the icons for the add-ons. This list is NOT based on relevance of the add-ons to character lore, otherwise D-tier would probably be A or S-tier.
If people are interested, I'd be happy to do another list based on lore/relevance.
-
I'd rather they finish the Realm Beyond with Haddonfield, Swamp, and Red Forest before making any new maps.
-
I'm glad someone pointed this out. People saying Pinhead is weak right now are nuts. He has some of the best 4v1 in the game.. I guarantee you players will start saying, "Chain Hunt OP Plz nerf" very soon.
-
Midwich took a while to get used to, but I think it's fine once you do. RPD on the other hand...
-
Trickster. I've only been able to play him recently because MMR puts me against potatoes with him.
Honestly, no amount of optimization or controller sensitivity options will ever truly save him on console. The very nature of his power requires consistent accuracy that is impossible for someone to do with a controller.
I'd prefer he just have a complete rework. He's already at a point where he's OK at best and incredibly unfun for survivor, but any more buffs will probably just make him OP. They need to start from scratch and make his power useful for all platforms.
-
I was looking to see if anyone else noticed this. If the challenge says, "while using x perk" it doesn't HAVE to be with that perk as long as you can fulfill the requirements another way. Thanks for making sure people are aware of this!
-
It was the best solution to make sure everyone gets the points they were originally promised. Will some others benefit more? Yes, but it's better than those affected not getting anything for weeks to months.
-
Honestly, this might be the first match up I would call a draw. They're both absolute units that will stop at nothing to eliminate their targets.
-
Really hoping for Oni and Deathslinger. I don't see them doing a Blight skin for Twins unless they get over themselves and find a way to have the Blight affect Victor as well. We get it, he's Charlotte's "power" and they don't wanna customize killer powers but they need to make an exception for Twins. So much missed opportunity with their skins because they refuse to customize Victor.
-
The skin stretching is a really nice touch. I'm glad they are still able to find new, creative moris while still carefully dodging any amount of gore or dismemberment that would get the game insta-banned in other countries.

Battlefront 2 runs fine. Literally never had an issue with it.
Same with Red Dead Redemption 2.
Sea of Thieves, which I think uses the same engine, also runs just fine.
All of these games look LEAGUES better than DBD and have MUCH more going on.
Examples like this are why I REALLY wish they would just be transparent with us about why the game continues to suffer from so many issues.
We get it: the game was made 5 years ago and the devs at the time had no idea it would blow up like it did. I'm sure people would have so much more respect for them if they just showed some humility and addressed how they plan to tackle the problem.
I still REALLY think game health could benefit massively from reducing new content to 3 chapters a year.
-
Oof. That really sucks. That combo was already really niche, but could be really clutch for a meme build. I would make a bug report out of that, because even if it's intentional, it makes Power Struggle LITERALLY useless and they need to do something about that.
-
I've seen gameplay of Pinhead with Hoarder and I'm honestly not sure if it's OP or not yet. Survivors may find reliable counterplay to it.
Right now, I'm just happy to see another forgotten perk get at least SOME use.
-
Stop calling every new killer the "worst killer".
You haven't played them enough yet, or found the right playstyle for them.
His chain hunt alone automatically makes him mid-tier AT LEAST.
How much higher he climbs will be determined by the bugs/issues with his main power they fix and how good people start getting at using his power in a chase.
-

I believe this is what you're looking for.
Everyone hated it and they removed it pretty quickly, thank god. The sounds were SUPER annoying and so loud you couldn't hear anything else.
-
Yeah, I don't understand people who say he is weak or (one of) the worst killer(s). The chain hunt alone gives him massive 4v1 pressure, which over half of the killer roster desperately lacks. People will get better with using his chains in chase, and then people will start crying about how oppressive he is.
-
Glad someone pointed out the hypocrisy between Jill's/Leon's outfits being 1080 and Pinhead's being 720.
-
Appropriate for a daily. Really glad they just changed Nemesis's because reaching max Mutation rate 4 times meant at least 4 games to get and was quite ludicrous for a "daily" challenge.
-
Can't believe people are still complaining about an m1 killer.
-
Still anxiously awaiting Jason if that lawsuit can ever get settled.
-
Clown would curbstomp Trickster into next week and gleefully take his all his fingers.
-
I'm honestly convinced Oni is the single strongest being so far under the Entity's control. The only reason he isn't top tier in game is due to gameplay mechanics and balance. The top 3: Nurse, Spirit, and Blight have powers that make it easier for them to get hits on survivors, but I believe Oni could easily beat any of them in a 1v1.
-
^Yes, it's SO annoying right now.

They have GOT to slow down and revise their arbitrary 3-month schedule for chapters, they keep biting off more than they can chew. They clearly can't handle this pace and that's before getting into the ever-growing grind. Constantly throwing in more perks like that just makes it all that more difficult for new players/accounts to level up the characters. I switched to PC a half year ago and I'm nowhere near "finishing" the grind.
If they insist on this ridiculous 3-mo schedule, then they can either amp up the blood points or rework the perks into two tiers instead of three. Add on unplayable new chapters and it makes for an angry audience.
I've been saying the same thing for the past year or two. They've proven time and time again that a 3 month release schedule is too much for them. I can only imagine what the employees might be having to go through to meet deadlines.
I am quite confident a majority of the player base would take 3 updates in a year with little to no objection if it meant the updates were much better quality.
-
His power seems hard to aim, but I've only played on Hawkins so far so will need to play more to make a proper judgement.
-
Agreed. His tentacle strike is really strong in loops but requires hitting survivors 3 times and they can vaccinate to waste more of your time while still giving them a side objective. Although the zombies don't have the best AI at the moment, their idea is really nice. They give good information to the killer and serve as an additional obstacle/interaction with the survivors. With improved AI, I think they will be liked by both sides more.

Pip requirements will remain the same - so they'll get harder as you reach the higher Grade.
So killer adept achievements will remain the same as well?

Nope: The first version of SBMM only used kills and escapes to calculate your rating, but it did not work out so it was quickly scrapped. The current system takes a number of different factors into account when deciding when your rating should go up or down (and by extension, by how much).
Basically, the way it's calculated is complex, and the goal is to have you "win" in about half your matches.
I haven't seen your name pop up in a while! Glad you are still a part of team!

For survivor, I main Jeff.
He's a metal head like me and I love that the metal head community has some representation in this game. He's also described as a gentle, caring dude despite that he may not look it at first. I, and I'm sure other lovers of heavy music, find this VERY relatable. Needless to say, I love all of his cosmetics too.
For Killer, I main Oni.
I pretty much love everything about him. His lore is cool, his aesthetic and cosmetics are easily my favorite, and his power is really strong. Whenever I lose as him, I always feel like it's because of a mistake I made and that I could have played better.
Going back to his cosmetic look, can I just say how awesome it is how he changes when he transforms? The glowing parts of his body, the different horns and other parts that grow? It really makes his outfits feel that much more special and worth the money. :D
-
Glad other people are asking this question. A lot of us want to be able to practice OTHER killers or survive against OTHER Killers (while running whatever build we want) without having to compete against other players.
And let people start a custom game with one player FFS. The devs should be fully aware players like to test things out and they shouldn't need to have someone else available 24/7 to do it.
-
Left 4 dead. Still don't have it after 3 years of playing. And they won't change it because it's technically still "possible".
The only way you get that trophy is if the killer lets you (which I have done for people) or is a potato.
-
While that is a nice thing to do and I would never discourage it, you also don't want to give killers a sense of entitlement.
-
There's no need to depip that low. Purple or even green ranks is more than enough. And instead of going AFK, why not use the opportunity to practice a killer you're not good at? Just focus on chases instead of gens and kills. That way you're not completely wasting your time and everyone else's time.
-
I'm an LGBT ally and have the charm on almost all my killers! Not sure if and when I will ever take them off. I just know showing a little support can go a long way for making members of LGBT feel included and wanted in our community. :)
-
It's hated because it makes killers feel robbed for mindgaming correctly or capitalizing on a mistake all for that to be taken right back from them. Multiply that times 4 survivors who may or may not be good at looping to begin with, and it just takes too long to down survivors before all their resources are gone/all the gens are done.
