It's ironic, really
Twins in their lore were considered abominations
It seems BHVR seems to share the same sentiment. They've been completely shafted for several updates in a row now while being in a really rough state. Still both in the playing as and against department but certainly more in the former than the latter.
COH would've been the final nail in the coffin but it seems BHVR isn't quite done adding nails yet.
I hope to see some Twins changes soon, I hope to give them a try myself once they are in a better state to play.
I've made the same comparison myself! The Twins have been largely ignored or just hammered with nerfs since their release. Clunky animations, terrible balance changes, glaring issues with their power, and one whole new cosmetic when they have been out for almost a year. Pretty good job so far.
-
Yeah, she's like a mix of The Crow (1994) and the artist from EW2. Wonder if that hurts the chances of us ever getting either of those characters in the game.
-
The majority of female killers just seem to be strong in general. Pretty cool stuff! Media can always use more strong, female characters.
-
I'm disappointed. It seems like they jumped the gun again and nerfed all his fun add-ons before he has even been out for 3 months. I thought they were gonna wait til at least the following mid-chapter before making balance changes barring obviously broken stuff?

So did they Nerf everything? No buffs or change to him at all? RNG on the chains? Or is he chains still just as garbo in chases?
They buffed Chatterer's tooth. 25 seconds of undetectable up from 12. Doesn't nearly compensate all the other nerfs.
-
Well, if this potential combo makes survivors do more bones/boons, it may be healthier for the game overall since the survivors won't just be focused on do gens and get out.

You didn't answer my question.
Again.
How do you handle the office infinite on an M1 killer? Be as specific as you can.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2623330#Comment_2623330
You cannot play an M1 killer on that map unless you have an anti-loop. Nemesis and PH do pretty okay there and Doctor/Hag can be okay if you prepare for the infinite. Wraith, Pig and co. get shattered the second survivors realize that all they need to do is make a beeline for the hub, run into the office and if they make it, there is literally no way to catch them even at BL3. It's as bad as the fence loop on Badham or the basement house on Haddonfield, but without any opportunity for counterplay or mindgames.
You've got a vault into a small room and a vault out, without an entrance on one side. These vaults are separated by a barrier and lead to another vault, meaning that if you don't mess up, it's an infinite.
I was not aware there was an infinite on that map. I've never seen anyone run it while playing either role, but good to know. Thanks for the heads up!
-
I'm sure this will never happen, but this is one of those instances where I think it would be appropriate to have a platform-specific balance change and remove Trickster's spread and recoil only on console to make it more fair (since PC players seem to manage it fine). I'd prefer they just remove it entirely, but I'm sure people would complain.
-
I'm hoping they will finish the realm beyond in the upcoming mid-chapters. It seems likely we are getting a new map for Chapter 22, which is exciting, but I'm looking forward to the remaining maps being touched up and (hopefully) rebalanced. Haddonfield is still a massive headache and Mother's Dwelling is still way too big. I'm genuinely excited to see how the revamped swamp maps might look. Might actually be scary!
-
Playing any ranged killer on that map is a miserable experience, exponentially more so than the other indoor maps. You're basically forced to play M1 barring a few killers.
-
I'm sure I will continue to take breaks with other games, but I still enjoy playing killer and survivor in DBD. I still much prefer the role of killer and I have fun playing all of them at least a little bit. I don't see my interest for this game dying anytime soon.
-
Honestly, I just want blighted serum on him base kit. Seeing a Nemesis charge at you at Blight speed is terrifying and really makes him feel like Nemesis.
-
Ok, thank you!
-
I really hope they take a look at him again soon in the next mid-chapter or two. He got way too many nerfs and not enough buffs to compensate. The 32 meter Terror Radius still blows my mind. He's a 110% speed killer. It just makes shift + W even more ridiculous against him.
-
I feel like you almost have to include Jason in the list. He's the biggest horror movie franchise missing from their "Hall of Fame". To the point where it really will be a big deal if they are ever able to finally get him in the game.
Other contenders for me would be Candyman, Pennywise, and Chucky.

Exactly, the Grade Reset is usually the 13th of the month, the one that happened yesterday was not intended.
Players were still awarded bloodpoints for where their grade currently was when this bug happened. Does this mean we will be awarded another set of bloodpoints on the 13th if our grades are fixed before then?
-
I wonder if the killer's power will have something to do with the crows that already spawn in the trial? Like maybe they can spy on or track survivors through them like with "Spies from the Shadows" but probably stronger? Could be cool, and make survivors more careful early game to avoid alerting crows. Maybe Calm Spirit will even become meta! Obviously, this is all just speculation.
-
I'm sure it's probably a bigger deal in South Korea for their culture to have some representation in the game. Plus, K-Pop is widely popular, so it makes sense from a marketing perspective. That being said, I do agree and hope less popular characters get some more love in the future.
-
I agree. I'm glad survivors are not getting hit through pallets or dead hard when they shouldn't, but it's annoying, frustrating, and confusing for the killer (especially new players) to hear the sound of the hit and the scream only for the survivor to still be standing. I know someone mentioned have the survivor glow white for a moment if a hit is validated since the devs probably can't realistically roll back the sound queues of a survivor getting hit. I think that would be a good start!
-
This looks like something straight out of a manga. Super cool! They're really stepping up the teasers for this chapter!

How can they nerf Billy any further he's already been destroyed??
Was the sarcasm not obvious enough?
-
Maybe they'll promise it during the next anniversary stream and we'll get it 1 - 2 years later. Idk.
But seriously, this would be a dream. Give people who are new to the game and chance to orient themselves to it or test things out without having to rely on someone else every time. Let players get familiar with a new killer's power without having to get stomped to do it.
-
Obviously Hillbilly. His mobility and ability to insta-down any survivor he wants is insane.
-
Definitely agree on mid to low A-tier!
-
I mostly just want him to get an add-on pass because everything green and below is just kinda boring and everything purple and above sucks ass. Hope he's on the short list after Legion and Ghost Face.
-
Boons are definitely strong, but I'm trying to keep in mind if a survivor wants to bring in both boon perks, that's two other meta perks they are NOT bringing. So potentially no exhaustion perk, no DS, no BT, no Iron Will, or no Unbreakable. Might be a fair trade off.
-
I'm undecided yet if they need nerfing but I do know there are still useful tracking perks that can get around Shadow Step (e.g. Whispers, Thrilling Tremors, Discordance, etc.)
-
Great. ANOTHER thing killers have to worry about while playing. "Huh, I thought I hit the survivor. It looked like I hit them. It sounded like I hit them. Maybe it was dead hard. Or maybe I'm just boosted".
-
I agree with all the reasons above but I have to mention Trickster for a reason that hasn't been discussed yet:
MAIN. EVENT. SHOULD. NOT. BE. ON. A. TIMER.
You get it 1-3 times in a match and being forced to use it or lose it feels more like a sideshow rather than something strong that should be feared.
-
I think it would be really cool if he had a "predator mode" similar to Last Year the Nightmare. Basically, he can move faster and unseen but can only appear and disappear from behind corners, to mimic how he can seemingly vanish and reappear to stalk you again like in the movies.

That’s most likely because of desync, on their screen they’re already vaulting while on your screen they’re just about to do it. It kept happening to me too even though I only have 30 ping so it has to be because of desync
Agreed. I'm aware that desync is usually the issue. I was being facetious but also completely serious. I would prefer the shock to be validated by the server so that I can actually prevent a vault if I time a shock right.

Shocking a survivor already prevents them from vaulting.
You missed my point entirely. Most of the time when you shock a survivor and it SHOULD prevent them from vaulting, they still vault anyway.
-
I'll probably be playing Spirit more now that infinite loading screens are fixed. Since she has some more counterplay now, I'll feel less guilty playing her.
-
Sure thing, if it also means when I shock a survivor as Doctor it actually prevents them from vaulting like it should.

i'd have fun if i could actually play the killers i want to play comfortably without wanting to chop my dick off because the game treats controller like it doesn't even exist
pardon the graphic exaggeration
No sweat, I completely understand. Most of the killers that are both fun and viable require control, precision, and framerate that isn't realistic for console. So we're stuck with watered down versions of killers that we know can't compete at the same level as their PC iterations. And until they introduce cross progression, we have too much sunk cost into the console version to start over. Sound about right?
-
I'm glad you found something that works for you. Best thing you can do is just focus on having fun rather than trying to win every game. If you 4K every game, your matches are just gonna get harder and less fun. It's a sad reality, but it's just the nature of MMR. Expect to win about half of your games. Try and just shrug off the ones that don't go well and enjoy the ones that do.
-

they're never going to do it so if you get high MMR as killer on controller have fun never having fun in this game ever again
pretty much at my wits end with it.
I mentioned this on another thread, but I have not cared about my MMR since it launched. I just focus on having fun rather than trying to win every game. If I lose, I know my matches will get easier. If the team is really bad, I usually let one or two escape so my MMR doesn't go too high. Not necessarily to derank, but just to keep my MMR from going too high or low so I don't have to sweat every game. Just my philosophy on it.
-
He's on the short list for an update/rework so those add-ons will hopefully be changed to something completely different. Not sure why they decided to bring back Old Legion though. It's still a very weak style of gameplay but I understand why survivors don't find it fun.
-
The recoil isn't any different, it's just 10x harder to control with a thumbstick than a mouse. So he's pretty much stuck at bottom tier on console until they either remove the recoil or give console players more settings to adjust like @Bloodshade has been suggesting.
Tip: Whenever I do play Trickster, I try to only throw one or two knives at a time because there's no recoil when you do that. It's slower, but more consistent DPS and less wasted blades which means less reloading.
-
Honestly, I really haven't cared about my MMR since it launched. It hasn't really made sense for me anyway. I've had back-to-back games with the same killer where in one match the survivors are really bad and then the next match they're significantly better. So I just try to focus on having a good time rather than winning. If I lose, then I know my MMR will go down and I'll start having an easier time. If I go against a team that's really bad, I'll usually let one or two escape so that my MMR won't go too high or low but will stay in a comfortable range where I don't have to sweat. There's just no incentive trying to win every game. I don't even think you can lose pips now, so if you keep playing you'll eventually hit the 250K bloodpoint reward for the 13th. The sweat lords can enjoy their sweaty matches using the same meta #########. I'll be over here playing a variety of killers/builds and still enjoying the game.

There wasn't an issue with quickscoping. Being hit by the chain itself did no damage. It was possible for survivors to avoid going down to a Deathslinger by using the environment to help break the chain. The idea that quick scoping was uncounterable is dumb.
It would be like saying Trapper's traps are uncounterable, because walking into the trap gave the survivor no chance to avoid being hit the trap.
That's a fair criticism, but I feel like Trapper's traps are a bit different because players generally know to avoid grassy areas and that any loop you take against him could risk getting snagged in a trap. So you could just shift + w from one end of the map to the next if you really didn't want to get trapped. With old Deathslinger, you were literally trying to dodge a projectile that he could fire faster than you could react to.
-
I don't necessarily mind the ADS nerf because survivors couldn't really counter quick-scoping, but they didn't give him enough in return to compensate. Also, the terror radius increase really bugs me because now he is the only ranged killer with 110% m/s and a 32 meter terror radius, which is REALLY bad because survivors have more time to just shift + w and he doesn't have the range to make up for it unlike Huntress.
-
As long as you reach one or more of the epilogues with either role, you can move on to the next level whenever it opens.
-
Agreed on the Yamaokas.
Nemesis and Pinhead's are also really good, those would probably be my 3rd and 4th.
Other honorable mentions for me would be Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, and Blight.
-
That won't happen when you've played this game for hundreds to thousands of hours. But I think the devs are still releasing new content that is at least unnerving. For example, they always do a good job with new terror radius music!
-
I love Resident Evil and I love Dead by Daylight, but the I hate the RPD map in DBD. The map is too big and makes for a miserable experience on both sides. As survivor, you can't find gens and most of the pallets are worthless. As killer, you can't find survivors and pressuring gens is nigh impossible with the map's byzantine layout. It needs to be repurposed to fit DBD's gameplay rather than being a faithful recreation that ignores everything that makes a map fun and enjoyable in DBD.
-
Considering Nemesis doesn't have a secondary ability, they could still totally do this!
-
Completely agree. Not everyone has time to close out the game and try again multiple times. Give players a fair chance to earn their rewards once a hotfix has been put out.
-
Maybe someday but we've had two licensed killers back to back so I'm personally ready for another original.
-
I appreciate the free cosmetics, charms, and extra challenges but the constant infinite loading screens and desync ruins it.
