  • My issues are how the synergize to counter their counters and how boring it is to face them in every round. Other than put limits on DS I'm not sure what could be done to fix it.

  • I love both but lean towards Ormond as Survivor and Temple as Killer. My Survivor build is about the vaults not the pallets so Ormond takes the cake for me there. Killer is more fun with the temple because it's not too big and has a better central building than Ormond.

  • In my opinion the root of the toxicity is that it's a competitive game, you have two sides working to achieve goals that prevent the other side from doing theirs. Any time you get people to compete against one another it's a breeding ground for toxicity. What breeds more toxicity is the allegiance to a specific side. Mains breed more toxicity than anyone in this game because they refuse to play or see the things the other side is going through. While there are some mains that do listen to the opposing side and keep an open mind the vast majority on either side doesn't and it creates resentment, entitlement, and furthers the toxic divide between killers and Survivors. If more people played both sides and kept an open opinion on how matches go (after all it's just a video game) and balance issues the level of toxicity would reduce from Killers and Survivors. But that's just my thoughts on it.

Fair enough. I think it would be quite fun to be well aware the Alien is near by and panicking when it come barreling towards you.

I personally don't like playing against stealth killers as Survivor and Spine Chill eliminates good stealth plays. Maybe giving it a build in Monitor as the power would be cool, like a huge terror radius when bipedal but shrunk down when crouched/crawling.

  • I prefer three because of the less audio notifications. If they adjusted it so the aura refreshed every 8 but didn't spam the noise that frequently I'd be cool with that but with how it is now I'll take 3 over 1 any day.

  • I'd like to see a different power, half of the licensed killers are stealth killers as is. Maybe give a speed boosted crawl that reduces terror radius and instead of a lunge like demo it'd be cool to have the tail be able to lash out, kinda like Deathslinger harpoon or PH ranged attack but very low range and with maybe a very very brief stun for missed attacks instead of having to reload or cool down. I think of the Xenomorph as a high mobility killer not so much a stealth killer personally. No matter what they'd do for power though I would love to see an Alien chapter. Hopefully get Ripley as a Survivor.

  • It's more annoying than anything and I'll usually ask why they needed me to escort them out the gate in post chat. Like they're a dog waiting at the door for their owner to take them outside. I'd rather they just leave but when I'm playing an endgame build it's really satisfying to watch their reaction to blood warden keeping them in.

  • I play about 50/50 killer/survivor and of the Survivor matches I play it's swf maybe once or twice a week but the majority is solo. Cleansing while playing solo is super simple unless the killer is laser focused on you. Most totems spawn near gens. Generally I'll find another Survivor working on a gen and I'll find and cleanse the totem next to them then help them finish the gen. Or see someone is in a chase and I'll finish the gen first then hop right on the totem. It's really not hard. If every solo does one dull totem that leaves one left on the map for NoED to activate on or a second dull for a you or another solo to get. Sometimes NoED activates and then it makes it easier to find the totem because now it's glowing and makes noise when you're near it.

Personally I never run NoED as killer because it's too unreliable. It can be removed before even activating, depending on the killer there's no mobility to patrol both gates and get more than a couple downs, by the time it activates I usually only have a couple hooks so the Survivor isn't gonna die because the totem is cleansed before the rescue, or I only get 1k after a really bad match and only because of a perk. The only Hexes I'll really touch are the Third Seal because it really messes with Survivors early game and gives the opportunity to get them to struggle phase before anyone can find where I hooked them; and Haunted Grounds because I want it to be cleansed for the pressure since most Survivors hide after Haunted goes off it becomes almost a full minute of no gens being worked on because they're too scared of the insta down.

TL;dr: Doing bones isn't that hard as solo and NoED is unreliable at best and the reward is a couple hook states against a strong team or a 1k against a weaker team.

Put it this way: I've been called sweaty when I've lost. No moris, no camping, no tunneling -- and any of those things could have helped me secure a kill. It's a flimsy insult that's usually used flimsily.

I've been called a sweaty tryhard for playing spirit. I played lazy and didn't take the match seriously because I was just finishing up the achievement to down 30 Survivors in the post phase state. Apparently though, just playing as spirit with mediocre add-ons and only her three perks is sweaty tryhard territory.

  • I agree with you. SWF isn't inherently bad but it is easily abuseable. When I play Survivor it's usually with my friends and while none of us use those abusive perks/play styles we do have so much more information than a solo Survivor would have.

    "nobody plays Hag"

People who play hag have no complaints, she is fine.

Huntress unlimited range is next, cooldown on holding hatchet maybe?. 😎

Exactly, she already has hella counter play. Flashlights, Urban, regular crouching, walk then 180 when a trap is sprung, spring traps when she's in an animation or carrying a Survivor. Hag plays best when survivors get cocky.

  • @D3_destr0y3r said:

What if you just didn't touch the survivor that came off the hook for 60 seconds?

    Then it doesn't work.

    (COUNTERPLAY)

End game, play against 4 DS's and play around all of them and see if you can get a single kill during egc. That's when DS screws over most killers. And good luck slugging it out because DS's main counter play is itself countered by Unbreakable.

  • The first three levels I completed all of the killer and Survivor challenges and had tier 70 in the rift done by halfway through level 4. That being said, a lot of it was super grindy and I feel you should be able to complete the rift by playing just the killer or Survivor challenges but the Tome is split about 1/2 Survivor, 1/6 both, and 1/3 killer so there are definitely more Survivor challenges to complete and many of the killer perk based ones depend on the Survivors you're playing against to complete instead of your skill as the killer. They need to even out the challenges like 1/3 surv, 1/3 killer, 1/3 either or and make them less of a grind, where I don't have to play five games to get one challenge and can complete it in one or two trials instead.

  • I'd say Huntress, only one Iri add-on, some questionable hit boxes, and some add-ons that are completely useless or barely affect her numbers like the ones that make her wind up "faster" or relaod at lockers "quicker."

Legion also needs an add-on adjustment.

Trapper could use a minor adjustment to his basekit by making the brown bag add-on part of his kit.

Hard to say what would help Clown but he could be looked at. The recent change helped a lot but he's still too add-on/perk dependent to me.

Pig could use a look over for her useless add-ons and maybe help the RNG aspect, that would hopefully change pig players from just being rbt tunneling scum.

Nurse needs some help. Either fix her blinks because there's lots of clipping issues there or bump up her speed a little bit to make her actually viable in chases and not 100% power reliant since no other killers are 100% reliant on their power.

  • Instead of actually farming I've been playing "lazily." Instead of trying really hard I'll slug more instead of going for the third hook, make chases like normal, use the hell out of my power, etc... Just not worrying about gens as much and try to get a lot of points.

  • My guess is they found a key in the chest, it's unfortunate how common red and purple keys are found in chests without any chest perks when they're supposed to be rare and ultra rare items. They also disappear when the hatch is opened so that's why you don't see one in their hand as they're jumping out.

As far as the discordance portion of this thread goes, I prefer tier 3 because it's less noise spam in my headset and the yellow aura lasts a little longer so there might not be two on the gen when you get there but there's definitely two or more in the area. I personally only use Disco on killers that can capitalize on getting multiple hits in quick succession like when I've got Meyers on Tier 3, Legion, Plague, and Hillbilly, it might be good on Pyramid Head too with his ranged attack but I don't have it unlocked on him yet.

Lol it could actually take 12 months lol. The fact that people make these jokes about the devs shows how long issues in DBD drag on for. But maybe the new matchmaking system will be delivered quickly and work flawlessly. Only time will tell and I hope that I'm right.

I think it'll happen by the end of the year but it's much more fun to reply "soon™" lol

  • Hag, or as I've been called "mud mommy" recently is my go to killer. I love her power and her little tiny size and lore, it's all fantastic to me. My main Survivor is Nea, love her cosmetics and started playing as her and Feng initially because of their teachables, I was an Urban Evading, Alert, Lithe, Spine Chill user and was the person that made it their goal to get as many BP as possible and never be found by the killer and I always achieved that with Nea so I've gotten all of the perks on her and use her more than anyone.

  • Firstly, not all killers a tunneling scum, if you feel that way I suggest you stop being a "main" and play both sides so you can learn some [BAD WORD] perspective. Survivor and Killer "mains" are what's breeding the massive toxicity in this community.

Secondly, the changes to PH are meh, yes it gets rid of some information but makes it more likely you'll find a different Survivor and eliminates the Survivor feeling like they're being "tunneled" and if you do find the cage it makes it move, which if you're face camping you need to learn to be a better killer anyway.

1.Problem with individual killer ranks is that there are only very few killers that vastly differ feom their gameplay.

2.The devs already announced that they want to implement a new mechanic for the early game to make it more fun for both sides.

    1. I disagree, yes they can be broken down by categories but there are too few who's power is actually similar to another's. The only close to each other examples I can think of are Billy and Oni, Meyers and Ghostface, and sort of Huntress and Deathslinger. Clowns power is similar to Docs imo but clown is ranged and doesn't deny vaults or pallet drops so should they be categorized together? Trapper and Hag both use traps but one is slow and defensive and relies on Survivors not paying attention while the other is more aggressive and actually has map pressure and mobility so should they be placed together? Wraith and Spirit both go invisible and are both essentially M1 killers but one has a slow reappearance and can be burnt out of his power while the other can trick people into thinking she's actually used hers and has no way to be broken out of it so should they be categorized together cause they're too similar?

    2. I'm well aware they're talking about doing "something" for early game slowdown but this is DbD so... "Soon ™"

Smurfing with one in a group is not possible. What you saw there was just matchmaking not working at all. Even if everyone there was red ranks they would have still versed that yellow rank killer.

I play a lot of swf when I do play Survivor and in my group we have two reds, a purple (me) who is red now, and a 19 and in our matches the killer rank would never get higher than 12 until our rank 19 would leave for the night and those of us in higher ranks kept playing together. They may have "fixed" this issue but it clearly hasn't been "fixed" as I can see it every time I play with my friends.

  • Two things I would like to see:

    1. Individual killer ranks so when I'm trying someone new or playing a killer I haven't played in a while I'm not completely screwed by match making. You can learn better from a match that you lose but aren't curb stomped through and completely decimated.

    2. An early game objective or delay so killers have more time before those first gens pop. While it's to be expected that you'll lose a couple gens early it creates a lot of stress and pressure when you lose two gens before you even find a Survivor. Just something to take some of the pressure of playing killer off.

Another thing that would be nice but could be mildly unfair is limiting the number of the same perk Survivors can bring in since it's their 16 to a Killers 4 and it's not a 1v1 game its a 4v1.

" A lot of people say they like the map " 😂 please tell me where I want to see a unicorn too!

I love the new map, yeah it sucks for some killers but for some it's no different than any indoor map and while it can be confusing to navigate as Survivor I enjoy it a lot more than the obnoxious maze that is Hawkins.

  • I use an xbone controller on PC and with the dedicated dongle haven't had any issues but using Bluetooth would have all kinds of issues in matches from stuttering during struggle to missed/delayed skill checks. If you're running with a cable it may be the cable that is the issue but if you're running it wireless on Bluetooth that is most likely the issue. Used to play games on PC with a PS4 controller and it was awful trying to get it to stay connected and consistent wirelessly and using it wired just reminded me of playing games back in the day on console being stuck 6-8 ft from the tv because the controller had to be wired in lol.

  • Self care used to annoy me as killer but then I learned how to patrol and apply pressure. As Survivor I still use it but I use it smartly, aka, I use it when it's my last resort or i feel I need that second health state to make a safe save to get us out. A majority of people using self care use it stupidly healing in corners or self caring next to a gen that's almost done or a gate that's 99'd.

For DS counters there's plenty of work arounds, my favorite is to eat DS early so I deny it to them in end game. If all 4 are running it then I'll keep taking the stun because they've wasted their crutch and will usually die before the gates are open since Survivors that run it usually play really reckless. Or you can just slug and wait it out since slugging still provides pressure.

For BT the best counter play is just go for the unhooker or wait out the endurance timer. The other counter is play a killer with oblivious effects like Freddy, Ghost Face, Scratched Mirror Meyers, Pig, Demo portals close enough to hooks, Wraith with his Ghost add-on, Pyramid Head cages, or any of the perks that grant oblivious effects or change the killers terror radius. No terror radius for the unhooker means no BT to worry about.

  • Tyrant or Nemesis from Resident Evil would be awesome and for Survivor you could bring in one or two of the top 4, Claire, Leon, Chris, or Jill

With the abundance of Alien games it would be awesome if they could do an Alien chapter and bring in the Xenomorph for killer and Ripley as Survivor and you'd also get that movie license too.

  • @Sonzaishinai said:

I mean you can get as much signatures as you want but that doesn't change that he's licenced

On top of that licenced to a franchise that is still throwing out games/books/movies like nobodies bussiness. Not a horror icon that stopped making revenue ages ago

This licence would be a fortune. And seeing how this community already was crying about one 15 dollar skin to make up for it I wouldn't get my hopes up.

Would like it though but still I'm not seeing it happen. Fnaf doesn't really need the publicity so there would be no reason for Scott to not milk any potential licence transaction for as much as possible

This franchise is still a thing? I stopped hearing about it after the third game.

  • During "peak hours" (evening/night and most times on Saturdays) in my region the killer wait is very short but I'll wait 5-10 minutes for a survivor match. During the day time like early afternoon it's about the same amount of time, just a minute or two for both. During the event killer waits on mornings have been longer though.

  • I've noticed a slight drop in it's use but not much. If it's early game and I think someone has it I'll just eat the DS but if it's late game I'll just slug.

As survivor I've only used DS twice and both times was blatantly tunneled after using it so I bring better solo perks like Self Care, Lithe, Kindred, and I'll switch up perk 4 for Spine Chill, BT, or a "meme" perk depending on how I'm feeling or what the Tome challenge requires.

The problem with the meta, imo, is people get "tunneled" (sometimes it's actually tunneling but quite often it's just they were the only person the killer found) so they start bringing DS. Killers get tired of DS destroying their momentum so they slug to apply pressure. Survivors are tired of being slugged so they start bringing in Unbreakable as well. Killers can't really avoid DS anymore by slugging so they do everything in their power to avoid it and only slug after chases have gone on a while so survivors start trying to force the use of DS so it's not a wasted perk slot. Killers get wise to that and start immediately tunneling the person who forced the use of DS on them so people stop bringing it as much. Killers notice there's less DS use and start "tunneling" more and the cycle starts all over again.

Personally I've noticed a wider use of Adrenaline lately since it can often give both Unbreakable and Hope effects to the survivors and still works if you're already exhausted. As long as you aren't dead already lol.

  • With the shorty killers I have problems with corn blindness but if I follow the scratches 9/10 times they leave the corn or I stumble into another Survivor sneaking around. With Hag on Rotten fields I like to tap random spots in the corn then spam my teleport button so I can just wander around until I pop up get a quick hit, maybe reset that trap, then pop up somewhere else for another quick hit or a down, like a reverse Whack-a-Mole lol. With average to tall killers I never really have an issue with going corn blind.

  • That one really sucked but for me it's all of the Huntress ones because I'm terrible with her and don't want to grind in matches with a killer I don't enjoy just to get some BPs and "observations" lore, especially since I already finished the Rift.

  • If you're playing for survivor I suggest getting Spark of Madness cause Feng has some great perks and Doc is fun to play as but if you're looking for killer stuff I highly recommend picking up Leatherface for BBQ and getting Flesh and Mud cause Hag is my killer go to and she's rumored to be one of the killers in the next Tome. Zombie Cowboy is a super fun killer too, I just picked him up recently and Zarina has some interesting perks that could be fun to play around with.

  • Imo they aren't game breaking it's that they're annoying to face almost every match, they synergize too well together, see @Warcrafter4's comment, and when I play Survivor I see too many of my teammates try to force use out of them or make terrible plays because they have them equipped.

  • @Nutty_Professor said:

I just don't see how a killer can afford to waste their to time stand over a slugged survivor for 60 seconds, unless it's at low ranks.

I could down a survivor extremely quickly, and carry them to the basement. The time it took me to do that two gens could have been completed.

I'm a rank 1 survivor too, but I rarely play against red rank killers that camp and tunnel (camping and tunneling are often bad strategies, often those strategies are a sure way to throw the game).

Endgame DS is the only time I can afford to slug and keep guard, usually I just try to eat the DS early in the match.

  • First piece of advice for you, forget about "mains." I started the game playing survivor with a friend and when he wasn't able to play I dabbled as killer a little bit but I considered myself a "survivor main" until we stopped playing and then I only played killer and considered myself a "killer main." Now I play close to 50/50. The thing is, you learn to be a better killer by playing survivor and how to be a better survivor by playing killer. Also, when you put yourself in that one box you generally lose sight of things that affect the other side and objectivity goes out the window.

My second piece of advice is, try not to take it seriously, just the fact that you put up your "impressive gaming resume" for competitive games tells me you take this all way too seriously instead of just trying to find the joy in playing a game. I've had those terrible matches, anyone who has played killer has, but I try not to let them screw with my fun. If I'm against a sweaty bully squad I go stare into corner of the basement and go afk and grab a drink, use the restroom, grab a snack, because if they can't bully me they'll usually just finish their objective and go so I can move in to the next match that will hopefully be fun instead of terrible.

  • I've had games where I down someone or just hook someone and am running to the others or I'm repairing a gen/cleaning a totem/middle of a chase and my internet decided to disconnect. Sometimes it would happen late game too. Hasn't been an issue for me in a couple months now but it used to happen about once a week. They might be petty and might be trying to screw everyone else out of points but it could equally be a faulty connection, outdated drivers, issues with an internet provider, a game crash on their end, or some other technical problem. If you're really concerned just send a report and let BHVR work it out, or know they get a DC penalty for leaving the match, whether by their doing or a connection issue.

  • Unsafe unhooks, this include those that will unhook without BT and not take the protection hit. Also hatch campers. Had a game the other day where it was my first hook, I had done almost all of the hook rescues and three of the four completed gens alone and the last other player was camping at hatch, I stayed on that hook until struggle phase and beyond to give the killer their 4k for all the bad plays on my "team." I also can't stand it when I'm running kindred and nobody gets me until after I've hit struggle phase because they're all clumped in the opposite corner healing.

Yes, you have to escape with each non-licensed character.

That's why I'm using this event to get all the survivor adept achievements as well. Play until a killer is just farming and I get a new cosmetic and an achievement, and in the case of Dwight and Kate a time challenge for 60,000 bonus BPs.

  • The problem is this event is bringing out some super scummy play styles from killers. I've had a lot of them say they are purposely tunneling survivors trying to get the crowns. I've also played killer and just farm games so everyone can get lots of BP and crowns and they've told me me after that they don't want to farm because they had two games in a row where the killer made it seem like they wanted to farm but slaughtered them all during egc with an end game build. I've had slugging Freddy at 4 gens, Mori tunnel Hillbilly, tunneling hag, and more. As a 60/40 killer/survivor player with this being my first event I have more fun playing to farm BP and cosmetics than I do sweating for the 4k or surviving. As killer I just need to enter a match and find the pedestal and I get 500 extra BP and a new cosmetic, it doesn't hurt to just have fun. Hell, farming as Hillbilly got me a lot of practice using his dash to where I feel more comfortable with it and could see myself actually doing okay in a real match with him when I hated using him before.

  • @cheetocultleader said:

I had heard they had a limit. Idk what BHVR has against people getting blood points, but considering how ridiculously long it takes to level everyone...

They're just bugged right now. They don't stack and only apply 140% to the person that brought it instead of 104% to all players.

  • It's super frustrating trying to get it as survivor because it's bringing out all the sweat lord killers so I've just been farming as killer to get it all on them first and hope to make it easier if only for one game for the survivors to get their Funyons too.

  • The one that's got me pulling my non-existent hair out is Blood Pact, Unhook a Survivor who previously unhooked you in the trial 3 times. 8 games and I've only gotten two of the three and the second one I had to throw the game to get. Half of the killer ones I've had to farm because they're 100% dependant on the actions of the survivors instead of your skill or dedicated servers are messing them up *cough* grab challenges *cough* I've hit level 70 so I'm not as concerned with completing level 4 but the bonus BP and lore would be great to not have to grind and grind and grind to infinity for.

  • Trapper

    Bing Bong Boi

    Nurse

    Billy

Huntress (sometimes replace the H with C if they're scummy)

    Meyers

    Doc

    Hag/ Lil Haggle

    Plague

    Freddy

    Bubba/ Leatherface

    Clown

    Pig/ Piggy

    Spirit

    Legion/ Leegie

    Ghosty Boy

    Oni

    Demo/ Demo boy/ Demo Doggy

    Zombie Cowboy/ Deathslinger

    Pyramid Head

  • Hag is my main and while she doesn't actually need perks to be viable my build for her just helps. I use Corrupt, Unrelenting, BBQ, and Monitor with teleport range add-ons. For survivor my build is a versatile one of Lithe, Kindred, Self Care, and I switch out the fourth sometimes Spine Chill and sometimes Borrowed Time.

  • My survivor main is Nea so I'll get another two survivors to lvl 40 then go to Nea and unlock their perks a bit then I'll get another one or two to lvl 40 and repeat. For killers I really wish I hadn't gotten the teachables because my new killer bloodwebs are just full of garbage perks.

  • I get called a tunneler by survivors who play incredibly stupidly i.e. running in circles/the open after being unhooked without healing. When I play killer I'm going after the weak link that's visible instead of trying to find the person that unhooked and then hid when they should have been protecting the unhookee. Or I'll have someone unhook in my face and expect me to chase them instead of the injured person just standing right there. If the unhooker is injured when they unsafe unhook in front of me I will let the person who was just on the hook go. The only time I will outright and with malicious intent tunnel someone is when they sit and flashlight blind me back to back or run around clicking their flashlight looking for attention.

  • Killers already get a blood point cut and negative progress on emblems for camping. They can also be completely gen rushed and only secure a 1k if the survivor team does their job. Camping killers can still be stunned by flashlight to get the rescue, baiting a hit and using BT can get the rescue, BT into DH can get the rescue, BT and DS combo can force a safe rescue with no hook trade. There's enough counter play in the game to get past camping. The Devs have stated that it is a non punishable strategy, not a good strategy, but a non punishable one anyway.

  • I play both sides fairly evenly and see toxic Survivors more. Just looking at post game I'll have survivors trash talking each other and the killer, most killers will throw a gg or compliment a play and then move on but the survivors are usually the ones showing toxic behavior to each other or the killer.

  • I'm having the same issue on PC as well

  • Pyramid Head is weak. I dodged his power by fast vaulting a pallet as his ranged attack struck. Also I never run the annoying 2nd Chance perks except for Borrowed Time occasionally so his cages cancelling perks doesn't affect me in the slightest cause I don't feel the need to play the game with a crutch (even though hitting a killer with DS will make it more likely for them to tunnel you, especially early in the game) Pyramid Head's trail is incredibly easy to avoid on most maps, his ranged attack may have some good distance with add-ons but it's still incredibly slow and easy to dodge, if you're getting hit by it while unhooking then you're doing an unsafe unhook, his cages send the survivor to the farthest point away from the killer and if you're playing smart there will be a Survivor nearby who can get you out and in many cases heal you before he can get back to you. Killer perks that are lost by using cages are BBQ, Dead Man's Switch, Make your Choice, Pop, Thrilling Tremors, and Devour Hope. Survivor perks lost by cages are BT, DS, Breakdown, half of Aftercare, and you lose the exhaustion reset but that doesn't completely bypass an exhaustion perk because you just have to hide or walk for ~45 seconds.

For the new map it's actually bad for many killers because it cannot be pressured and it takes so long to get from one floor to another. The map is great for immersed/stealth survivors and great for high mobility killers, just learn how to adapt to the map instead of refusing and killing yourself first hook, try sneaking, or get around without using the main hallways. Or if you really hate the new map there are these green items that clog up my bloodwebs called Map Offerings that you can always bring.
