I had a match today, all pc players, where I was Rank 4 killer against Rank 13, 15, 10, and 17 Survivors. If you're on PC my guess is that MM is a bit jacked due to PTB.

I'm not sure if you are kidding or not here. Imagine Undying with HG. You could literally run through HG 3 times. Not including seeing auras for 6 seconds.
You can but that's two perk slots given to pretty much one effect since most killers in a chase won't be paying attention to the auras by totems. Also, if one dull is cleansed that one less time Haunted Grounds can be used and if Undying is cleansed then HG can only be used once. It's an interesting memeish build on most killers and potentially devastating on super high mobility killers like Hag and Billy since they have very little to no cool down unlike Legion and The Blight, and its pointless on Oni since his high mobility stage is a one shot stage without the collision issues.

If i pick up the last survivor and they dont struggle i always find hatch or bring them to the exit. Not all killers do, but a good chunk do. Or used to.
I'm the same way, if they don't struggle I give hatch but if I've had to sweat like crazy for that 4k I'll occasionally hook, or if it was someone that was doing toxic things like hook farming or sandbagging their teammates and they're the last alive I don't care if they struggle or not, they're going on the hook.
-
DS by itself isn't really an issue to me. Yeah you can force it's use or jump in a locker but when combined with Unbreakable and to a lesser extent BT it becomes an issue.
If you have DS+UB and get slugged you can pick back up and still have DS for a bit removing the only real counter to DS (slugging). If you have active DS+BT you can unhook in the killers face and prevent a hook trade for your play (BT can be bypassed with undetectable so this is much less of an issue). If you have all three you can have your 60 sec DS plus be unable to be slugged plus prevent a hook trade and any pressure. If all of this happens in EGC near a gate the killer might as well go to the corner and completely give up since there's absolutely nothing they can do in that scenario to secure a kill.
-
They have some old timey cosmetics but yeah, totally unplayable until we get an old timey Survivor with old timey lore dammit!

So It was happening before then... That's interesting. I'm just wondering if it's actually some hidden algorithm in the game then, or there is a gap in coding or something that may be causing it. I actually thought that the cause of going against the same killers in a row was caused by introducing the Crossplay but now i'm pretty surprised since i didn't have the similar situation before the crossplay came.
My guess is it's an oversight in the match making algorithm, or somehow on the nights it happens most people are playing just those killers (which seems unlikely)
There is also the possibility it's intentional but that also seems unlikely.
I've also had nights where it puts me on the same map/realm every game. Just the other night I was on Badham for four games in a row, or a couple weeks ago it was Cold Wind 7 of 8 matches I played. Thursday was Auto Haven 6 of 9 games.
-
This has been happening to me since long before crossplay was introduced. One night will be mostly plague and the next will be mostly huntress and then mostly spirit, then mostly oni, etc. I even hit a point one day about a month ago where I told my team "if it's another Huntress I'm suiciding on first hook so good luck" because I had played against 6 in a row.

In the lore for the Alchemist there is no mention of transforming into a werewolf. His lore is focused on his hunger for the flowers and his experiments on the other killers. We already know how the serum affects the killers from their cosmetics, they get covered in boils and usually have some sort of mutation like the doctor getting a third eye or the Wraith being hollowed out. None of the killers transformed into something else though, they all remained the same people. So I don't see why it would change for the Alchemist.
In the tweet that BHVR put out it said that something is "festering" in the fog. Festering means forming pus or sores, so that means that whatever happens to the Alchemist after injecting himself, it most likely involves pus and sores rather than transforming into a beast.
In the trailer it looked like something was coming out of the Alchemist's back, so my guess would be that plant tendrils or something similar is coming out of him, relating to the flowers from the Hallowed Blight event. We don't have a killer based around plants yet so maybe the Alchemist will fill that niche.
All in all, I say that it's more likely that it'll be a plant based killer rather than a werewolf type character. I don't think I missed anything that could point to it being a werewolf but feel free to tell me if I did.
I think the reason a lot are assuming werewolf, which is a bit of a misnomer, is because the way the teaser is animated it looks a lot like hair coming out of his back and the face area elongates a bit. Being a silhouette it's impossible to tell though, it could be plant matter and the elongation of the face could just be his hood falling lower on the face or it could actually be fur and a muzzle pushing out.
Werewolf is a bit of a misnomer because it's clearly the syringe sound from the pustula event and the alchemist lore from Tome 1 and nothing really suggests a transformation from a full moon but I think a lot of people would like to see a wolfman/anthropomorphic killer in the game and that's why the hype train is moving that way.
-
Mmr wasn't trash for everyone. My games would be 6-7 super sweaty games followed by 3-4 games against new players and then from there it evened out. As the couple killers I was already playing a lot of before mmr, my matches were balanced the minute mmr came out with the occasional potato thrown into the mix.
I understand there were some problems initially but I sincerely hope they bring back mmr soon. It was so nice having relaxing yet fun games, and I would love to get my killer adept achievements finally without having to depip as far as I can go, which usually doesn't help with my region anyway since when I was rank 14 I was still getting matched with red rank swf using a low rank friend to get matched with lower rank killers.

P.S. I totally just realized I replied to you on two different threads with the same thing, sorry

The best build I've found for myself is Spine Chill, Lithe, Kindred, and I swap out BT and Self Care depending on if I'm solo or swf.
Spine Chill gives me enough information for evasion.
Lithe gives me the distance I need in the beginning of a chase and comes in clutch late game for getting out the gate cause of the haste and making the killer have to vault or go around an obstacle to catch up.
Kindred for all the information it provides.
BT when playing swf so I can make more unsafe unhooks and can communicate with my team why I'm doing it or letting them know they can take the protection hit.
Self Care for solo since I can never really trust my teammates to heal me, especially how often I get hook farmed it teammates seem to miss skill checks in solo queue.
This works for me as a combo of chase and immersed build. I hate having to rely on the 2nd chance meta so I've adapted to play without it and if I get tunneled I just move on to my next match and try to not get spun.
-
I just used Hair Ribbon + Memorial Meyers and got it easy. In near constant T3 every hit is exposed lol

So I checked your YT channel and your latest video is from a week ago titled “Dead by Daylight possibly a wall hacking cheater”. Can you clarify what led you to think this killer was cheating and why you reported him for exploiting? I just want to understand because it’s not clear.
This to me is an example of a killer that either hasn't played in a couple months getting back into the game or who deranked for some easier matches and using bitter murmur and spies from the shadows to find people since they probably don't have BBQ on PH yet. The first time they were found the killer walked right past their hiding spot, and with them being injured it makes it easier to find people especially when they're not using iron will. Nothing about that clip was suspicious in the slightest other than someone being bitter enough about losing that they immediately reported the killer before seeing the killers perks to figure out why they were found so quickly.
-
I was one of those people it worked well for and I'm annoyed it's gone. Since today is rank reset I'm gonna do some challenges and daily as killer before throwing matches to derank to hopefully be viable with more than 3 of the 20 killers available

I'm a casual DBD player, so the highest rank I ever got with killer was 9. But what had me stop playing for the longest time was constantly getting matched against all red rank swf teams. And knowing that the new MMR is just as busted as the old MMR, pretty much guarantees that this game will never be fairly balanced for all players.
My problem is for me it was working fine, ~10-15 games in and my matches seemed fair and balanced. They did fluctuate wildly in those first 10-15 but eventually they evened out. Now I can barely even touch an M1 killer and it might as well be gg ez from the Survivors because I don't have the skill at high ranks with them. I have the skill with Hag, Oni, Billy, and Legion but if the killer isn't high mobility with their power I can't play them without feeling angry and defeated and not learning anything from the toxic flashlight body block 2nd chance squads.
I was also a killer that would get my 4k when pitted against new Survivors with the mmr system but I would actually them play, not kill everyone immediately with no regard for them being other actual players.
@Dead_by_Gadfly said:
Honestly i think an mmr is a mistake. Ive said this a few times but ill repeat here in the off chance the devs see it. The best way to handle this is create 2 groups. Anyone with less than a hundred hours falls in the first group, everyone else falls in the second group. Group 1 can only play with grouo 1 group 2 with group 2. Thats it. Having just 2 groups would mean quick match times and decent ping. Games would feel more random, and youd ensure 2 things: noobs never face really good other players and the game wouldnt feel like a sweatfest at the other end.
This works in theory, but I have <1 hour played as Nurse and because of the cliff steep learning curve with her if I was unable to practice against newer players to actually figure things out I'd be deranked from 2-15 if I didn't give up before then because even a couple months ago when stuck in green ranks as killer I was always up against solid red squads that handed me my ass until I played only Legion and Hag to get up into red ranks to make things actually look fair in paper.
-
No. Hag and trapper play completely differently. One is a teleporting killer that can use her power effectively in a chase while the other requires insane luck and setup time. Demo is an M1 killer that happens to be able to set up portals.
-
I hate not having it. Made it nice to grind some adepts and other achievements while having chill fun games where I can kinda relax as killer but all night tonight it's been sweaty squad after sweaty squad against my baby trapper skills.

DS is a necessary mechanic to counter camping and tunnelling. If nobody camped or tunnelled you would hardly see ds used...
Regarding the proccing of 3 DS at the exit gates - if you were able to get that kind of momentum at the endgame - where was that pressure earlier on?
I'm sorry but if a killer finally snowballed in the end game and the Survivors only managed to escape through the use of a crutch perk then they ######### up. EGC, unless triggered by a hatch close, is entirely Survivor sided meaning if they got three active DS's the Survivors intention was to force use from their perk and BM the killer instead of just leaving and letting the killer secure their one pity kill.
Also, some killers don't get pressure until mid to end game, some players have problems with chases and rely on altruism to get their downs, and some players with the new MMR are being absolutely screwed right now.

I'm one of those people that prefers t3 Disco because I can't stand the loud noise spam and the added 4 seconds of yellow aura doesn't really matter when 99 times out of 100 one person stays on the gen anyway.

The ones who want to keep points will just suicide on hook. The rest are mad/think you won't get anything because they tried to do it before you got them on the hook, their friend(s) is(are) already dead and they just want to go to next match so ######### the randos, etc. I mostly see this done out of spite or because it's a killer they hate. You can even bait disconnects with shroud or yellow moris. Works like a charm.
That's the thing though, it's on their death hook. I'm pretty sure the 10 second sacrifice animation isn't that detrimental to getting out of the match XD

@Ghouled_Mojo said:
I’ve been curious myself. It denies them why points and you still get yours. I’m hopeful someone answers this.
I asked the post game on the last one and the response I got from the 1 escaped Survivor was "some people be like that" which is true, but I want to hear why from someone that does it. Like I was playing 12 hook Clown and was never near a hooked Survivor except to get in range to toss a bottle and see if someone was coming for the unhook, lol.

Not really. meta is meta wich means those perks are not underrated by any mean, doesnt matter if arent good on certain killer since there is not an universal build. but if it were would be something like Pop, corrupt (both are amazing on every single killer because those slow down aearly and mid and late the game due pop), Thrilling tremors and i dont know something else like save the best for last wich is good on pretty much every single killer aswll since fast recovery is always good to have. (nurse spirit and huntress probably someone else are the exception)
I dunno, to me Nurse's Calling is meta for Huntress, Death Slinger, Nurse, and Pyramid Head but overall kinda meh on a lot of other killers. Or Unrelenting is great on Hag for her teleports but pretty pointless on most other killers.
Yes there are those that are meta for all killers like Pop, Sloppy, Thana, Corrupt (which to me is kinda overrated) and BBQ but there's plenty of killer perks that are meta for specific killers and not killers as a whole. I guess I consider it two ways, as something killer specific like "almost every Huntress runs Nurse's" so it's meta on Huntress but not meta for all, and meta for all like "Pop is good on every killer." If that makes any sense lol
-
@BaschFonRonsenburg said:
As killer, I really enjoy discordance. Not sure if that’s not meta but I don’t really ever see that used a lot
for survivor I love well make it and apothecary (or whatever the quick chest search) with ace in the hole.
I see Disco used by a lot of high mobility killers but I'd still consider it underrated. It gives a lot of info, especially if you have one hooked and are chasing another, then you know where all 4 Survivors are.
-
@seki23 said:
for killer i use all meta perks so i dont know.
as survivor sometimes i use quick and quiet.
To be fair, what's meta on some Killers can be really underrated or completely useless on others lol
Q&Q is a fun one, I like to throw it on a vaulting build with Lithe, Spine Chill, and Dance With Me. Usually once killers find out what I'm doing they adjust and wrek my life lol
-
2. Hag
5. None
7. Three
-
With Hag I tend to win most games but I'll play other killers and drop back down to purples often and rank reset is a yoyo for me from 4-5 for about a week until I can work back up to rank 2. I play probably 12-20 hours a week depending on events/archives/how often my friends want to play swf.
A lot of the streamers 4king every match also only play killer or very rarely play Survivor. It's amusing watching someone like Otz doing really well as killer and then watching him play Survivor and being somewhere between a potato and fairly competent.
-
@Elena said:
Surely if this No Mither exploit was a thing, you'd see popular streamers and fog whisperers complaining about it, however I have yet to see such complaints.
Tru posted a video on YouTube of a No Mither lag switch game yesterday. He literally couldn't pick him up or hook him.
Edit: Just saw someone beat me to the punch with it.
-
As killer it's been really nice to try getting my adept achievements, I'll get games where I am annihilated with killers I barely play but the next couple will be against newer/a good mix of Survivors making it easier to get the adept.
As Survivor I haven't noticed a difference because I hardly play solo queue anymore and when I'm playing swf we're all different ranks so before all of this we would get one game against a newer killer and the next one against a rank 1 3000+ hour killer so nothing has really changed in that aspect.
-
Eat the DS early in the game or slug to proc the Unbreakable early in the game. When it's late game there's really nothing you can do so it's usually best to make them waste it early despite it being kinda scummy.
Most squads that run with a bunch of DS's try to force use of the perks anyway, just try to make them use it earlyish. If it's at 1 or 2 gens left then it's usually best to slug and create as much slowdown pressure as possible to wait out the DS and try to keep proximity to reslug the unbreakable.
-
Just played him a bit tonight, they revered the overheat nerf so much he's basically the same, just with an add-on rework. The only difference is that now you can't feather for longer than like 45 seconds straight or infinitely run laps around the map with his power. They really just got rid of "Crack Billy" by reworking his add-ons
-
This sounds like an amazing idea. Do a community chapter with the map, killer, and survivor all created and voted on by the community. They could even break it down by separate voting for perks, power, aesthetic, etc.
-
Given my size probably Oni, Clown, or Leatherface. Bulky armor to hide my belly as Oni. Let it all hang out as Clown. Or slap on a mask, a wig, and a yellow apron and I've got Leatherface.
Or do drag and be Huntress since I already have a corset and padding for that lol
-
@malatruse said:
Maybe a killer modeled after Jack the Ripper without actually being him? Kinda like billy being based off of Leatherface.
Or Clown visually designed like John Wayne Gacy.
I think an old timey looking stealthy killer with some kind of limited teleport ability would be cool, see a shadowy figure with a cane and top hat that just disappears and reappears kinda like nurse but less loud and less range.
-
For originals I'd like to see more Ormond and Glenvale.
I like the snowy brighter feel of Ormond and think a map like Shelter Woods but snow covered and brighter would be cool or one similar to Crotus Penn with the burnt down theatre from Julie's lore as a centerpiece. I also think the store where the Legion became killers could be cool and maybe have the area around it be a parking lot full of cars and whatnot.
There's a lot that could be done with the old west kinda feel of Glenvale too; like a gold mine map or some Hills have Eyes kinda wilderness, or even the prison Deathslinger is from.
-
It's a thing, if you're injured and then get infected once you cleanse you'll be back to full, been like that as far as I can remember. Granted my memory is terrible lol
-
There was a bug at one point that gave the achievement for rank 1 so once you unlock that one you'll see more people have it than the rank 10 achievements lol
-
Been trying as Bubba and in 7 games they were all super sweat squads with maybe one random newer player thrown in here or there. But I've also heard of the opposite happening for people so who the hell knows.
-
Except you have to be tormented to be sent to a cage which doesn't often happen unless he zones you to it or you aren't paying attention. His cages also don't give stacks for BBQ or Devour, they also prevent perks like Pop, Furtive Chase, Dead Man's Switch, Make Your Choice, Thrilling Tremors, and literally any other killer perk that require carrying or hooking Survivors to work. If anything he just needs a slight delay between using his power and going for an M1 hit so he can't fake it for the hit as easily. Far from OP.
-
I've been seeing this a lot lately too, yesterday was 4 Pyramid Head in a row, a couple days ago was all Plague and Ghostface and before that was all Meyers and Huntress

I have been playing Leather Face none stop since the new MMR took place and I still get paired against low skill survivors who barely understand this game. I can assure you, none of us are having fun, not me, not them. When can I expect the new system to do its magic?
I have the exact opposite problem with Leatherface, trying to get his adept while things are supposedly "easier" to learn and I've been up against nonstop sweat squads. Alternatively, since they put in the killer lock a few days a go I've been practicing Oni a lot and all of my matches since MMR went live with him have been balanced.
-
I had the opposite problem playing Leatherface earlier. All of my games were me (usually red or purple) with 560hrs against three 1-3k hours, and one newer player with less than 60 hours.
However, I've been practicing Oni a lot the last week and today all of my matches were pretty well balanced and fun, no major disparity on either side other than the random newer player here and there.
Normally I main Hag and haven't played much with her but the only times I have a challenge with Hag is against a well coordinated 4man.

I don't think either of you even read my post.
Even in my first sentence I wrote "Disconnecting because you're they're losing is pathetic".
A disconnect penalty due to the game randomly kicking players, or a killer leaving the match because a SURVIVOR disconnects because they got downed early (the match is already been ruined by the survivor disconnecting early) do not relate to your responses whatsoever.
I'm guessing they didn't read your full post because your headline is very much divisive. Personally I hope it does get fixed and come back, as a killer I'd rather someone suicides on hook so can actually get some BP and as Survivor it gives me a chance to make a rescue at least and get some emblem progress and BP.
If the game crashes that often there are things you can look into to remedy the problem. As far as being booted from matches is concerned, the penalty does stack but resets after a couple days and is only 5 minutes the first few times it happens.
-
My build that I do really well with in solo is
Lithe
Kindred
Spine Chill
And either BT or Self Care
Gives me a run or make a save when I need to but plenty of information to work on objectives and evade.

Candyman is a series with only 3 films released, the first film is acceptable, not good, not bad, just acceptable, 2 and 3 are AWFUL beyond words, Halloween Season of the Witch levels of bad, good acting by Tony Todd tho.
Im not against Candyman but its a bit of a stretch to call iconic such a small series, we are very close to enter the tacky, campy, very poorly done B-movie grounds, those films that are more funny than horror because how poorly done they are, what would be next?, Maniac Cop?.
The Candyman franchise is fairly blah, I'll give you that, but Tony Todd is a legend in horror but in the mainstream he's best known for Candyman. Overall I'd be okay with a Candyman chapter but like with the Silent Hill chapter I won't be super excited it's happening. Honestly I really want Xenomorph, Pinhead, Jason by some miracle, or a Resident Evil chapter more than I would want Candyman.
