  • If you had to run some errands, the first penalty is only 5 minutes and from what I can tell it resets after 24 hours, this is a complete non issue.

  • When MMR first started I was playing like my third match ever as Bubba and Yerv was in the survivor group. I failed so hard. Thankfully I don't think he was streaming at the time.

I hate Billy. I've never liked using him as I find that everyone else can be a God with the chainsaw while I flail around like a goldfish whose bowl just fell off the counter and smashed on the ground...

I ended up getting it thanks to my favorite troll killing perk; Blood Warden!

The two survivors either didn't notice or didn't bother to run as I chainsawed one down and then got the other one trying to run out of the gated area once they realized their oopsy.

Not sure if that will help you but that was my trick

After 5 games I got it done using lopro chains and somehow lucking out with a team of semi potatoes but on the previous 4 games as red against a wall of red I was getting so damn angry.

I'm a defense killer main, I do best with Hag and Trapper so playing Billy is soooo hard for me to begin with.

  • Some like to wait for the last second switch to add an item or swap character. Sometimes I have to wait it out because I had to go afk for a little bit and wasn't there when I initially loaded into the lobby. In general it's obnoxious when people do it but I do understand why it can happen.

I’m not a super good killer by any means, I’m only a green rank and I play on console so my experience is drastically different than a red rank on pc, but playing as a console killer is next to impossible due to the limitations of a controller, especially with the cross-platform system consistently matching me up against survivors on pc. Using a controller makes it harder to chase and hit survivors and causes you to eat up valuable time that could end up losing you the game, especially in game-deciding scenarios. Not to mention killers like huntress and deathslinger are so much worse when using a controller due to the lack of an aim assist (not saying that there should be aim assist for ranged killers because that would hellish to deal with). I’m honestly surprised that bhvr hasn’t already added mouse and keyboard support for console, it would make the game so much easier for console killers and it would kill off any problems caused by using a controller.

I play all killers relatively well in PC using a controller bacause I prefer to game comfortably instead of hunched over m+kb. What really makes killer hard on console is the poor optimization.

When crossplay was turned on everyone I played with that had that globe icon teabagged and flashlight clicked at me.

When I had enough I turned it off, latency is somewhat better, and the people are somewhat better. But something I noticed was that all the toxic people had weird movement compared to what I was used to, so my guess is most if not all of the toxic people were on pc, not much of a surprise there.

What platform are you on? Playing on PC I've seen the complete opposite, if I'm tbagged and clicked at it's usually a crossplay Survivor. Also 8/10 games where a mori or NoED is in play is a crossplay killer for me.

  • When playing Survivor I see so many moris anymore it's really annoying. The only time I'll dodge a lobby as survivor though is when there's another PC player in there that is being really obnoxious in the pre game chat feature or someone is constantly switching their character or cosmetics instead of readying up. For me survivor queue times are considerably longer than killer queues so overall I'm less likely to dodge as Survivor but I see no issue with dodging lobbies that look like they'll make your gameing experience miserable.

  • They did Bdham and Yamaoka at the same time so I'm guessing if Ormond isn't next it'll be done with Strode or Red Forest or Crotus Penn.

  • Depends on what killer you're playing but in general, learn when to slug and when to tunnel. The more pressure you can spread or the faster you can get one person out of the game the less you have to worry about gens flying. If you can't get the first down in a shortish period of time don't be afraid to break chase and go pressure gens, especially if you're running Ruin/Undying to try to get them regressing so they can't just power through your perks.

  • @gatsby said:

Normal Height Killer FOV. And no serum stuff covering the screen while rushing so you can actually see

Yes to both of these. In addition they could look at the things that he slides over and what he actually collides with. Ormond is a mess with the snow piles and doorways completely destroy his power usage.

  • Tbagging to your teammates is usually perceived as positive but when you tbag after pallet stunning or sit and tbag in your circle jerk at the exit gate it's BM just like a killer smacking hooked Survivors.

  • Because there's effectively no difference between you quitting because you're being sandbagged or rage quitting cause you got downed first.

For cases like this, don't DC, die on first hook then report the players in the post game screen.

  • They really need to give an option to disable it or just turn it off and see if it makes much of a difference. Aim Dressing was good when killers were the hosts but now we have dedicated servers it's been getting worse and worse. The number of times the survivor is in the center of my screen and it pulls me off to one side or the other when I swing is atrocious.

Okay, so I'll shorten the tl;dr and say I only just re-downloaded DbD for Halloween which took longer than expected so I played from 5am till about 2pm local time because it was still October 31st EST time. Maybe because of my tiredness I got confused but I used up both cakes and streamers on a few killers and basically got nothing ie if I got 25k bp in the game I'd get an extra 25k bp Bloodhunt bp but nothing for the cake or steamer or soup etc. Seemed the same with envelopes and any other bonus bp sacrifice as survivor too.

Someone on the PS4 community tried to convince me cakes only worked for SWF but that seems wrong.

Basically, it seemed from my half asleep post game assessment of 7 hours of gaming BHVR set the event to just give Bloodhunt extra bp and ignore other extra bp sacrifices.

The double BP is only on the base points for the match so it's like having full stacks of BBQ or WGLF every round. Some of us just want to bring offerings so everyone can get even more points but the way people have been playing during the event is just gross. Killers sweating their asses off, survivors rushing matches and escaping with barely over 10,000 points because they're bringing maps like ormond and strode along with Prove Thyself and Brand New Parts and making matches as short as possible.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/202678/why-im-never-bringing-cakes-or-streamers-to-bloodhunt-events

I don't blame you for feeling this way. I'm seriously tired of wasting bloody party streamers and escape cakes just to get survivors that farm me and I die before the first gen gets done because this baby Meg wants to unhook me while the killer is still in the area.

It's so frustrating, I was playing with friends last night and had killers slugging at 5 gens and using first hook mori. It disgusting how many people just want to play like scum or rush through matches during double BP.

  • @GamerGirlFeng said:

I've only had ONE killer be nice during this event. A Spirit wanting to get her gen challenge done.

I've wasted so many petals and Y4 cakes... not wasting any more.

If only we could end up in the same games together instead.

I'd much rather have people that want to get into chases and play the game instead of matches that last 5 minutes and nobody gets BP

  • Oni: a literal Japanese Demon....

People have to keep the game running and the redeem code page open, while watching a streamer.

    Meaning they can´t play normally.

Who thought, that would be a good idea?

That's why I don't have it, rather actually play the game

  • I see a huge number of Steve and Nancy in my lobbies. It's just like the Silent Hill chapter, I don't see Pyramid Head often but I almost always have a Cheryl in my lobbies when playing killer.

  • Maybe if/when they pull his 1st person model out of the ground and fix his FoV I'll enjoy him more....

  • The only time I'll 1st hook mori is a Blendette with a key because I know as soon as the hatch spawns they'll disappear into the bushes like they do and go Hatch hunting. Lately though I prefer Franklin's over moris to deal with key users because Franklin's also counters flashies and gives some free downs for the people that are super intent on not losing their item.

I haven't noticed a difference one way or the other. There are a lot more Console Players (I think) judging by how many of them I pull for matches, but that doesn't seem statistically relevant for them exhibiting any particular behavior MORE.

The biggest things I've noticed from crossplay have been, console killers seem more likely to bring NOED and Mori while console survivors usually tbag more often. Console survivors also tend to run with a wider variety of perks than the standard DS, UB, BT, DH combo and seem more likely to go stealth mode whereas pc survivors (and I'm guilty of this too) will basically throw the match for boldness and altruism.

These are just my experiences in my server location being central US, I've heard players from other regions say there's no difference or the complete opposite of what I've noticed.

  • With the current visual bug when killers load into the match and it shows the model from the 1st person you can see blight has no feet or about 1/4 of his shins. He's literally sunk into the ground.... When I'm on tomorrow I'll have to take a screenshot so everyone can spam threads about his height with sunken blight pictures.

Whenever I’m repairing a gen and a skillcheck appears just as teammate walks up to help repair, the lag stutters the bar, freezing it for an instant, rendering it unhittable, forcing the gen to blow. Happens almost everytime just upon the approach of another survivor. idek

Another example of the lag issues 😔

I was wondering if this was happening. Last night I'd get on a gen with a crossplay survivor and they'd miss a skill check almost every time. Figured it was frame rate issues but was curious if they were affecting skill checks as well.

  • It's gonna take a little for me to get used to for last minute swaps but I think it's a great change.

  • If the last struggles and doesn't stop after I swing at the air a couple times I hook, if they go limp on my shoulder I give hatch.

If I get a quick down + trap + hook followed by a second down shortly after, I usually save the other 3 traps for mid-late game (3 or less gens) pressure based on the assumption I can outplay at least 2 of the 4 fairly easily.

Baseline, unfortunately, she suffers just like many other killers (look at Blight - Hex Undying w/o any other Hex perks). You could also state the same for survivors, though - Sure, they can be strong baseline without any perks depending on the player (just like most killers), but adding extra abilities/boons is obviously going to make a difference regardless of who/what you play.

I've learned and do conserve my traps as needed. Generally I prefer playing her stealthy since her traps aren't as reliable and are a limited resource unlike every other killer.

Blight has Hex: Blood Favor to go with Undying and his add-ons can drastically make up for his shortcomings. Compound 21 for the "wall hacks" or any turning add-on if you're like me and have a hard time maneuvering with him. So him at baseline isn't that bad. Pig is a little off when it comes to perks but hers provide a lot of information (reworked Hangman's and Surveillance) with snowball potential (Make Your Choice) but her power makes up for those shortcomings having such a potentially strong slowdown with the rbt.

In general I agree with you, I just think everyone has a different idea of viability, win conditions, etc, when it comes to this game. I do place Pig in above average tier with how I look at viability though and other perks are cherries on top. My three killer mains are Pig, Hag, and I'm learning Nurse so I'm not dunking on her at all, she's super fun but to me rng can be spotty.

  • The blight one shows why his camera is so low, his feet and about 1/4 of his shin is stuck in the ground lol

At worst, the time it takes to remove a trap is equivalent to time spent on hook + 15% of a gen (search time) + travel time to a box - Even if a survivor does progress gens/heal/whatever with a helmet on, they're eventually going to need to take the time sink.

I think it's a bit more impactful than people realize, especially when combined with 'actual' slowdown like Ruin/Pop/Surge/etc.

I definitely agree with you there but when an unhooked survivor has theirs off within 30 seconds of being unhooked it just negates the add-ons for that trap, you can either put a new one on them or hope it provides a longer effect on the next person. I've had matches where they stay on for a very long time but I've also had games where within the first three gens I'm out of traps and all of the survivors have theirs off.

She is a stronger killer than most people give her credit for, I just think her power rng is too much of a variable. That's why I say she's semi viable.

I'm also looking at it from a baseline standpoint, just her, her perks, and her add-ons. I can slap BBQ, Ruin, Undying, and any random 4th perk and any killer can become more viable. After grinding and finishing adept achievements for the last couple months I have started to look at viability from a basekit, add-on, and teachable standpoint because those are what's needed for the adept rather than someone that has unlocked everything on that specific killer.

  • She's semi viable to me. Her bear trap rng can swing the game too far to either direction. Either they cannot get them off and spend all match not working on gens or they get them off immediately and she no longer has a slowdown. Her add-ons also need to be looked at. If you're playing mainly stealth and ambush her better ones are yellow and an Iridescent but all of the add-ons that should be stronger affect her rng heavy power and become 4-5 time use or are kinda useless depending on how quickly they get them off.

Oh god yeah, autohaven's pallet RNG is horrendous and it always has been. All the map rework update did was make it even more obvious when they gave the autohaven maps more deadzones for...reasons that I can't even begin to comprehend

Yeah, that's the biggest problem it's either Pallet Haven or Dead Haven, it's hardly ever actually balanced. Either there's 20 pallets that can't be mindgamed or none and a complete killing field.

  • For Nurse and Bubba it worked for me.

  • 4x quitter bonus. They were probably registered as being completely loaded into the match when it cancelled? Doesn't make a lot of sense but when one person quits they get 625 BP so if all 4 "DC" the killer gets 2500 BP

  • I want a "sexy cat" Nea! Also Dwight as a scarecrow or dressed as a ghost, just Dwight running around with a white sheet on over his head and torso.

  • @MandyTalk can you please close this thread as well, I just saw your post directing to the bug report on another closed topic of the same thing.

  • For me Hag only gave 461 two games in a row before I switched to Nurse to finish it out.

I wonder if it is the offerings that are causing it as I was using the 104% cakes I had left over on my games as wraith and doctor.

I didn't use any on my Hag games.

  • @TragicSolitude said:

Clown works, as well. Except when someone used a BP offering (I think one of the gateau offerings), then it glitched and only gave me like 16 points towards the challenge.

As Hag it only credited me 461 out of the 8000 I made. Which is sad cause she's my main

  • @Purgatorian said:

You can complete it as legion, that's how I did it. I have heard nurse works too. Doctor and Wraith did not work for me.

Good to know, I'm trying to grind Nurse's achievement anyway so I'll play as her until it's done I guess.

  • Loaded in as Ghostface with the strap things from his costume sticking up like Spirits hair and his arms looking like he was doing his best at a Spirit impression, lol

  • As someone who plays both sides I think they're fine. For killer it helps eliminate the one exhaustion perk this is the biggest nuisance, Dead Hard, and for survivor I never run Dead Hard so they never really affect me as a Lithe user since I've usually used it by the point exhaustion add-ons would affect me.

  • My build is Iron Maiden, BBQ, Whispers, and Save the Best for Last. For add-ons I bring at least one calm add-on.

Iron Maiden makes it so survivors can't counter your power without revealing their location or becoming exposed.

Whispers gives you the information you need to know when to use your AoE.

BBQ for the bloodpoints and even more tracking.

And STBFL for the attack recovery.

  • @Ryan489x said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/197739/survivor-dc-should-count-towards-hooks-and-sacrifices

It counts toward sacrifice if they DC while they're on the hook. I agree the quitter bonus isn't enough. and If they screw over a team the team should get more points then they do.

Yeah, but if they DC as soon as you pick them up it counts for absolutely nothing. I don't care if they decide to DC on hook instead of just letting the Entity take them because at that point it counts towards the Emblems, achievements, and challenges.

Definitely agree the Survivors should receive more points or a guaranteed safety pip when one of their team DCs.

  • Unlike many tracking perks that killers have Undying doesn't give an audio notification and a big bubble saying "Hey! Look over here!" So killers actually have to be attentive and looking for the Auras. The only time I've used undying has been while adepting Blight and it really only helped when the last two survivors decided to go super immersed, otherwise I got absolutely zero value from the aura reading aspect.

  • As a Survivor I find looping to be tedious so I run tile to tile using windows and line if sight blockers to extend the chase.

As killer I don't mind a little bit of looping but when it's a really safe loop with full visibility of the killer at all times and you never throw the pallet then it's just tedious and obnoxious since survivors can hug the wall because of their smaller collision box and gain more distance each time until bloodlust kicks in.

Looping is a small part of the game, I have better success the way I play Survivor so loops just annoy me in both sides I guess.

And don't come in with your condescending comments about "basic principles and fundamentals" because killers exist that negate it, some players play better using the whole map, and some players think Benny Hill simulator with knives is boring.

  • To me One squat is a quick "thanks" anything more than that is unnecessary and gonna send the impression they're gloating or trying to tilt me. I usually try to not let it bother me but the ones that hang out in the gate usually get a "awww, you needed momma Hag to escort you out, I'm so touched" in post game chat.

My advice, when you give up like that B line for the basement or a corner and stand there facing it. Once they find out they can't taunt you or EGC is almost done they leave. In that time just go afk for a few and grab a drink/snack, use the bathroom, do some cleaning, or tab over to youtube or whatnot to kill some time.

  • Killer: BBQ because the grind is real and the added bonus of I know where to go so I'm not camping the hook.

Survivor: Lithe because running with an exhaustion perk makes things easier for me and I prefer to run tile to tile in chases instead of looping the same one for eternity.

  • The medkits from Pharmacy is one health state no add-ons, so if that's all you need it's alright. Honestly for healing perks I'd say Self Care, it's not as detrimental as some make it out to be, it allows you to heal more than once, and doesn't require the assistance of an unreliable person to heal you.

  • Survivor:

Overrated: Dead Hard, doesn't work as intended a good portion of the time and most killers will bait it because they'll assume you're running it.

Underrated: Diversion, it's amazing how many killers will leave the area because of the Pebble allowing a sneaky escape. Not terribly useful in general but due to limited FoV killers can be easily distracted.

    Killer:

Overrated: Pop and NOED, one buys you a little bit of time and is most effective against solo queue and the other if it's not destroyed before it even activates will usually only give you one kill if you're doing poorly and won't even come into play if you're doing well.

Underrated: Hex Third Seal, spread damage and start hooking and not only do they not know where to go for the unhook but it also counters every Survivor aura reading perk as long as they've been hit with a basic attack.

  • I've been working through them myself, only have Plague, Demogorgon, Deathslinger, Pyramid Head, and Blight left to go.

Honestly the best way is to run the best add-ons you have and go for the 9 hook 4k to get Iri Devout Emblem and get one player out as quickly as possible. I'm not saying to hard tunnel but for one Survivor, don't play with your food and actually be merciless.

Another thing that helps immensely is to avoid camping at all costs, staying near a hooked Survivor destroys the chaser emblem.

With the recent changes to Gatekeeper you just have to draw the match out to ~9 minutes but not allow the gates to be opened and you're guaranteed an Iri Emblems there.

For me the hardest emblem to guarantee a good score in is the one that loses points every time Survivors heal but I found the best way to counter that is to return to the hook as soon as the unhook happens to get a slug or spread damage more and keep them from healing under hook.
