  • The bottom of the image they posed has “and more…” which means some Killer issues will also be addressed. We will still be getting other balance changes along the way I presume.

I think a lot of the issues they posted about were prioritizing longstanding issues for new players and SoloQ which were commonly talked about leading to repressed of the FNAF Chapter. Since SoloQ/new player Survivor is a miserable experience that has been long overdue for adjustments.

  • I reckon it is probably a mistake on their part, if it isnt I would definitely be concerned by them charging money for something that can be easily obtained for free.

Too little too late, if you ask me.

None of this addresses WHY people don't want to play Survivor. Getting rid of bots, at least a bit, helps a tiny bit.

    This. ^

One of the biggest core issues of 2v8 Survivor is that it lacks the appeal that 2v8 Killer has.

Killer has unique synergies between different Killers and Classes that make it incredibly diverse and interesting. We've seen Killers interact in ways with one another that was not previously possible, and as a result, it has created a lot of situations that not only help advertise the gamemode (clips, videos, etc.) but serve as the focal point of attention.

The only way to make Survivor keep up with this is provide more Classes and Interactions between Survivors.

It needs to be as, if not more, interesting than Killer. Introducing Classes that are not as boring as "heal faster" or "do Generators faster" can significantly help, since the Medic, Guide, Scout, and Escapist classes are decent but only serve to cover the "fundamentals" while lacking the appeal of being interesting or catering to niche playstyles. Furthermore, introducing more ways of interacting with Survivors in the gamemode would also serve as a good way of providing further incentive to play Survivor.

  • Ive asked for it for literal years when I played on Console, I ended up just moving to PC anyways, but it would still be nice to get Keyboard and Mouse support on Console.

Most games have it, I really dont understand why DBD doesnt.

Yeah there is little to no testing on BHVRs end for their patches. The Icing on the cake is now this is the THIRD patch (second dedicated bug fix patch) to claim spirits husk audio is fixed. Haven't played yet so I do not know if this is in fact true.

From what Ive seen, the Spirit audio bug seems to actually be fixed now. Unless another audio bug has emerged (also possible).

  • Wow. I am shocked. Shocked. Actually, not really. I feel like anyone could have seen this coming.

  • I think it is fine and cool that you are enjoying the gamemode, but disagree with the approach of not allowing people to hold an opinion on the gamemode if it is remotely negative. You can express how much you enjoy it, but people are also allowed to express how much they dislike it, both should be and are fine.

Based on the feedback Ive been seeing, both on and off the DBD Forums, people really dislike this version of 2v8, specifically from the Survivor side, because of the changes (and lack of changes) made to the role. Queue times, as a result, are longer even with the introduction of bots to "help with queue times" since people dont want to play the gamemode at all.

I sat in a 50-minute queue for 2v8 Killer, just for some perspective. 2v8 Survivor queue is instant, people just dont want to play it.

Its even more Survivor sided now. Having pampered solo queue players with all these new machanics like cage state restoring herbs, faster mend times, its still obviously survivor sided. The bots are also insane at doing gens, as long as you can loop the killers for long enough

The bots are also insane at doing Generators

95% of the time they get off a Generator as soon as they hear the Terror Radius. They also tend to prioritize healing/unhooks over doing Generators.

Played a 2v8 match and decided to start a timer for the total time they were on a Generator, from a 10-minute game (Legion stalled us out), they only touched a Generator for 23 seconds, most of which at the start of the game… yea, they are useless for progressing Generators. :/

  • I spent around a week or so trying to get any sort of value from it, and outside of raising the Kill Rates, I dont think it really did anything.

The only time I was able to get value from this perk, ever, was unironically in Chaos Shuffle against a Hag, since it helped reveal Phantasm Trap locations, but even then, it was pure luck to get the value, and I dont it would ever work within a normal match of DBD.

Hey there folks. Popping in here to let you know that our Community Team is treating collecting and sharing feedback with the team as our top priority today. While I'm seeing general comments about how folks feel about bots in here (which we are also sharing with the team), I'd also love to dig into the specifics of how you're feeling, as these can often be the most useful feedback points.

If there are specific instances of bots doing things that you've liked or have found disruptive in 2v8, I'd love to hear them.

The issue is more than just functionality of the bots.

When I queue for 2v8, I hold the expectations that there are 2 people playing Killer and 8 people playing Survivor, not 2 people playing Killer and 6 people playing Survivors (2 are bots). The entire point of 2v8 is interesting interactions between Killers and Survivors, and removing players and replacing them with bots removes a lot of that appeal and interest for me.

In normal 2v8, I can do Generators, have a bit of time to goof off with a teammates a bit, which is where some cool or interesting interactions have, like teammates using the Medic healing ability to heal our entire group a single Health State in the middle of a chase, or even just funny meme stuff on the side, which bots cannot do, since bots are not human and do not come with that understanding.

Just please consider removing them and saving them for players who DC, starting a match with 2 Bots from the start was just a horrible idea that kills the fun. :(

We disagree, there's pictures, it's of a much higher quality than normal

Sluzzy use to put screenshots in their posts, and then they got nuked from orbit.

Screenshots do not mean good or bad bait, it's how they are used, and you have to be really particular with them, Sluzzy was a master at it, and frankly I dont think anyone will reach their level of bait prestige.

  • I use to put cool lookin' charms on my Survivors/Killers (typically ones that match the color scheme of my outfit) but honestly nowadays I just use the Pride Charms only.

I dont even think it is that. There have been bugs plaguing the game on both sides that have been in the game for months that have yet to be fixed.

BHVR is way too focused on trying to release new content which results in them not only adding more issues to fix, but it shorthands their ability to fix things since their resources are moved elsewhere.

How was it designed that way? What's reasoning for it?

Reality is you have blood points offerings that screw specific killers basically during every event…

How was it designed that way? What's the reasoning for it?

Because it was easy for the developers to code.

It's been known since Killer Map Interactables were first added that they used the Chest Spawning algorithm for their spawn locations, the only thing that has caused people to have such an uproar about it is more Killer Powers being affected and Event Offerings spawning more chests.

Since it was intentionally coded to be that way, it isnt a bug, it is an intentional effect coded by the developers.

Again, I must state, just because it is intentional, does not make it good design. The developers took the easy way out early on and ever since it has negatively impacted Killer Powers, and the developers should go back and change this so it does not impact Killer Powers as much.

  • @PetTheDoggo said:

Yeah, seems kinda pathetic to say this is not a bug.

Sounds like they just don't know, or it would be too difficult to fix.

Because fundamentally, it isnt a bug, the game was intentionally designed that way. This being said, just because it was "designed that way" does not make it good design, and the developers should look into finding a better spawning system for Killer powers.

  • Because Cut Loose already fills a niche, in cases where Rush Actions are spammed and/or chase mindgaming.

I used it a lot while going for the Hiding Seeker achievement and it helped a lot, since it gave more a larger window to perform a Rushed Action without making noise after my Quick and Quiet had already been used.

In a similar sense, you can fast vault a window, and then vault back silently, which can throw the Killer off. The mindgame potential with this perk is actually really good and often underestimated. Quick and Quiet does not have that potential unfortunately, since the functionality of Quick and Quiet makes it unable to do this.

And, one of my personal favorite use-cases for this perk is that you can blind the Killer at a pallet and spam vault the pallet so they cannot break it. Definitely not a "meta" use of the perk, but it's fun, and I think it's fine to have perks that are not that strong but really fun to use.

  • If the Killer is going to tunnel, they are already processing in their head who they need to hook repeatedly. The lack of individual hook counters does nothing to really stop the Killer from tunneling in that regard.

The lack of individual hook counters can, in many cases, lead to accidental tunneling where Killers (who try to spread hooks) end up hooking the same Survivor repeatedly because they lack the information necessary to know who to hook.

Generally speaking it would also be a nice change with the addition of Shoulder The Burden disrupting the flow of hook states, you can see the Survivor who used STB, but not the Survivor who STB was used on, which can mess up individual hook counting if multiple Survivors are hooked at a given time.

  • I honestly think you would have been fine if you just ran in a straight line instead of trying the spin the Killer.

Also that is just a visual bug with Legion, many other Killers have similar visual bugs, it is (often) not consistently reproducible and is caused by an discrepancy between the server and your client (not the Killer's client) resulting in the animations not accurately matching the Killer's current state.

The best you can do it file a bug report and hope it gets fixed. I doubt any Killer would get Killswitched over something like this since it isnt gamebreaking nor reproducible enough by BHVR's standards.

  • @jokere98 said:

and they also said on forums, that for some elevations they don't count it as a bug

The issue isnt a difference of elevation, it's the fact that it is happening on the same elevation.

  • Because not everyone can afford the best internet, or have access to it.

Gaming is expensive, you already have to sink a lot of money into the technology and games themselves, having to pay for internet is just more expenses on top of it, which a lot of people cannot actively afford.

Similarly, some people live in areas/region where getting a stable connect is difficult. For example, I live in the middle of the woods, and despite spending a lot of money on "fast" internet (not many providers in my area so my options are limited), I still have issues because the location is really out of the way and weather can further make things worse.

Though being (not) being hit because of ping/internet issues moreso comes down the net-code having issues, and that can of worms it up to BHVR to solve.

  • @Ayodam said:

    Yes.

It definitely doesn’t feel like it though. I’m still having issues where Survivors on the same elevation are able to crouch under my Shred.

    • Survivors who sit in the Exit Gates and wait are not taking the game hostage, EGC will force them out of the Exit Gates, or you can manually force them.

    • Flashlight and Blast Mine spam isnt holding the game hostage. The Killer can still, ya know, do things within the match.

    • Strong coordinated teams that do Generators and last long in chase are not holding the game hostage. In fact, that are the complete opposite of such, they are progressing the game as fast as possible.

Like I do understand that these things can be annoying or frustrating at times, but like… the games are still in a state where they can be progressed, none of the things you listed have anything to do with Killers being held hostage within a match.

  • The hair looks really precise but the rest of it looks like a weird mix of smooth and blurry? Some parts of the clothing (specifically any metal/gold parts) look distorted and bent instead of straight? Some of the lighting also looks a bit off?

Idk, are these some kind of promo images, maybe the compression of the image is weird, or was this altered by AI? It just doesnt look right to me.

  • Honestly, I think this Rift is good.

You get a total of 21 skins (22680 Auric Cells worth of skins) for 1000 Auric Cells which is an amazing value.

The skins themselves are mostly alright, but I am honestly glad BHVR is experimenting and trying new ideas for cosmetics. Im tired of solely getting over the top and flashy cosmetics that make you glow like a lightbulb from across the map, and this is different enough to really break the mold.

Also BHVR is learning that more colors than blue exist for the Deep Rift. We got red now, and who knows, maybe next we will have yellow so we have all Primary Colors completed. :D

  • I honestly don’t know what is their reasoning behind making some Killer cosmetics.

It does not feel like they are trying to increase Killer variety with it, since both popular characters get skins.

It does not feel solely driven by sales either, since they should just release skins for only popular characters, since unpopular characters also get skins.

With Skull Merchant basically having the lowest pick rate, it is questionable as to why they would make a skin for them. Don’t get me wrong, the art team does an amazing job, but with Killer cosmetics it doesn’t feel “clear” as to why some Killers get skins and others don’t.

  • Plague does not need any buffs to their base power or add-ons, in my opinion.

What Plague does need is a large amount of bug/glitch fixes and QOL fixes, their power is so unbelievably buggy/glitchy and at times it just doesn’t work.

It doesn’t help that the dedicated servers have been getting worse (at least it feels like they have) since sometimes the servers just decide to eat the infection for the Survivors, making it a hassle to even infect Survivors.

  • @RpTheHotrod said:

Its designed to to do that, but it affects more than that. I've seen the limit kick in numerous times when a 3 gen isn't even remotely happening. Heck, as a survivor, you can force a vital central gen to permanent lock up within 5 minutes of the match starting. It's just far too abusable.

If the whole thing is truly to stop 3 gens from happening, then it should only start counting once there's only 3 gens left. Anything else is just an excuse.

Then it should only start counting once there only 3 Generators left.

This is something I kind of disagree with, some maps have tight enough Generator spreads (paired with awful RNG) that allows more than just tight 3-Gen set-ups to spawn.

For Example, Azarov’s Resting Place is known for having 4-Gen and sometimes even 5-Gen set-ups if RNG allows it.

  • The Generator Regression Limit is designed to prevent excessive 3-Gen holding. Even with it still in the game, the Killer is still able to hold a 3-Gen for a decent amount of time and gain pressure from doing so, and some perks can outright bypass the GRL entirely (e.g. Hex: Ruin).

To put it bluntly, it does have a purpose, but I do think it has flaws.

I think the issue with the GRL is that some regression events count as multiple instances instead of just 1. Eruption is a good example, since the first kick applies Eruption and counts towards GRL, and Eruption’s regression also counts towards GRL, making it take up 2 out of the 8 Regression Events. This system has also made a wide variety of other perks better/worse instead of giving all of them a fair opportunity to shine.

Likewise, I think kicking a Generator with no regression perks whatsoever should never contribute to the GRL, since it is impossible to protect a 3-Gen indefinitely no perks to help, GRL should only work on instances where higher than normal regression is applied since those are instances where 3-Gens can be problematic.

  • I honestly don’t think Dream Pallets are suppose to be a strong, standalone power anymore.

To me, at least, they feel more like a “cut-off tool” where certain structures and Pallet spawns turn from your greatest enemy into your greatest ally, such as god Pallet locations effectively being turned into guaranteed hit locations (they evade the Dream Pallet and get hit with an M1 or they run through and get hit by the Dream Pallet exploding).

Even still, I think that kind of design is flawed.

Guaranteed hits feel awful as Survivor, since the room for counterplay is extremely limited since you are just hoping the Killer whiffs really bad. In the same boat, as Killer, it feels awful since the power is effectively useless 99% of the time, and is only situationally “meh” 1% of the time.

The easiest thing BHVR could do is remove the explosion effect entirely and return Dream Pallets to their original version, maybe making them more visibly “dream-like” the more Dream Pallets you place to disacourage spamming the map with them and to encourage being more strategic with the placement.

  • Following Patch 6.1.0, I made a post about how "Survivors were intentionally playing poorly or giving up to inflate Killrates and get Killers nerfed" because I thought it would be funny and… uh… people just kind of took it and ran with it. It kind of blew up enough to go beyond the Forums and I even saw it on Twitter (screenshots of my post).

Anytime I see a post where someone posts something like that, I get this awful feeling in my gut, it's like I unleashed a plague of locusts upon the DBD community. </3

  • Ive said this before, many times before but playing for yourself can be fine, there are many situations that call for such, and DBD is an incredibly nuanced game so and I think we should have perks that at least serve to help in those kinds of situations.

This being said most "rat" perks can be changed or buffed to provide benefits to the team progressively as the team dies, so they can still act as an inherent comeback mechanic while not losing their functionality.

    • For example, Sole Survivor can provide it's Repair Speed buff by making it 25% per token (up to 75%), instead of it only procing when all Survivors are dead for 75%. The functionality largely remains the same, but now there is some benefit to the team and it can act as a comeback mechanic for games where a Survivors dies too early into a game (normally by tunneling).

With the Wake Up! changes, it doesnt strictly "prevent" rat playstyles, it also negatively impacted the perk in a team setting by providing a diminishing effect on an already niche perk. There were just better ways of handing it, and I hope BHVR listens to the feedback from the community.

  • I don’t know if we are getting a Lunar New Year event again. DBD put a lot of focus on the Blood Moon event last year, so much so that they canned the Lunar New Year event for it, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they did the same again.

Color me surprised if they do it though, I’m not completely ruling it out but I’m definitely not the most hopeful either.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3876967#Comment_3876967

I think with the duration increase, and there not being a cooldown, that this Perk may now be moving in a different direction:

Find a survivor, chase then a little while, possibly hold back on a hit until Bloodlust triggers, get the hit, and disengage using that extended Undetectable state to get the jump on another survivor who may be mispositioned.

(Edit: just read the 2nd Dev comment, so yep)

More favorable for a hit and run playstyle. Might be a good combo with Hex: Face the Darkness (since you're undetectable everyone will scream regardless of distance). Though the need to wait for Bloodlust might cause you to waste more time)

I edited the post to cross out the old sections since I am aware of the changes.

When I made the post I was referring to the Patch Notes directly and the Patch Notes did not have the right information for the changes. The developers have corrected the Patch Notes and I have corrected my post in response.

I still do think the perk is a bit flawed, more so that the direction it is taking feels more like a “SoloQ Stomper” perk more than anything, mainly since disengaging a chase is easy to call out in a SWF but not SoloQ, but it is a step in a better direction compared to what it was before bc it was outright useless before.

(Of course) my opinion on the Wake Up! changes largely remains the same.

  • @ThatRyanB said:

Popping in to address your notes on Beast of Prey in particular, we made a mistake with what was shared in the Dev Update. To be clear, there is no cooldown on Beast of Prey in 8.5.0 (of course, aside from the prerequisite of having to gain Bloodlust) and as mentioned in this thread, the effect you receive is Undetectable.

We've updated the Dev Update copy to fix this mistake (and I'll slowly back into a nearby shrub). Thanks for flagging this to us!

That makes it much better but still not really the best.

I do hope the feedback about a potential rework for Beast of Prey is still taken as it is since the base effect of Undetectable as a chase perk really does not work that well.

Can someone explain why people are discussing various streamers, if "no one can know what MMR people are"?

Are people trying to guess what MMR various streamers are, even though "it shouldn't matter" and "we should stop caring about MMR"?

Imagine how much easier this could be if everyone could just see what MMR each streamer was, when they watched that streamer play the game?

    Because of tribalism.

(This is not directed at any particular content creator or streamer.)

Their favorite content creators and streamers constantly behold the idea that they only face top tier teams and never, whatsoever, face average or below average players. They hold this idea because it makes them look better, and they constantly advertise this to get more attention towards their content.

When people are constantly presented with this idea, they believe it at face value without actually taking the time to show this.

This is the same reason why we had the whole "content creators and streamers are de-ranking off stream because they face awful players occasionally" conspiracy theory going around, because people refuse to do research and refuse to accept that their favorite content creators and streamers pushing the idea might be wrong.

MMR has been datamined to hell and back, we know how it works, BHVR has also confirmed in Q&A and on the Forums that it works that way, and we know that it is incredibly flawed. Matchmaking currently has a focus on finding a match quickly instead of finding a quality match, resulting in players of a variety of skill brackets being paired against one another instead of focusing on people all within the same skill bracket.

Keep in mind this is also why the DBD Wiki removed any listed values of MMR because people kept harassing the DBD Wiki moderators because they upset that it made their favorite content creators and streamers look bad. It was also removed for a variety of other reasons, but ultimately it was the harassment that pushed them over the edge.

Can you please show me this evidence of tru3 matching up with other big eu streamers bar hens?

Because Hens is the literal only one i ever see him match up with

iI'm subbed on youtube and watch his DBD streams a lot, and he literally never gets matched up with say Otz for example

I believe his last match vs otz was when he was playing with his ex wife or ex gf and their friends on midwitch in either early 2024 or 2023

And his last game vs ayrun was on eyrie of crows, who was in otz's swf

Where as he goes vs hens multiple times a year and i believe he just went up against him twice in like 1-2 weeks

I cant name a time in recent DBD where he went up against any big creator other than hens

He could and just not know But his chat tells him all the time so i cant see why

And while yes he doesn't face against comp players every game, im not going to pretend like he only goes up against bad survivors

As i'd say whenever he checks profiles theres like at least a 30% chance of the guy being 1v1 tourny player or comp player

And it doesn't help that a majority of comp players from my understanding use Anon Mode so it could be even higher

I'm pulling these % out of thin air but like i said i watch tru3s streams alot and this is just what i observed

Wether or not you want to call the comp players he plays Bad-Mid-Good They still play comp /1v1s and are better than a vast majority of community

Or he could just be the most sniped DBD streamer so thats why

Can you please show me this evidence of Tru3 matching up with other big EU streamers bar Hens?

I would but I have more important things to do with my weekend. I refuse to spend hours sifting through VODs to win a virtual argument on the internet, because it's just not an effective use of my time, It's easier to just write a response. :)

Im subbed on YouTube and watch his DBD streams a lot, and he literally never gets matched up with say Otz for example.

Otz lives in Spain. Tru3 lives in the UK.

Something, something region-based matchmaking, something something, too far away to face one another. You get the idea, I dont need to explain it further, Ive explained it before, DBD has grown a lot and has more servers for different regions that didnt have servers before, etc.

Also Otz and Tru3 primarily play Killer, Hens plays a variety of both sides, Hens is more likely to get paired against Tru3 since he plays Survivor more often… this should be obvious.

But his chat tells him all the time so I cant see why.

    Not all the time.

Obviously with figure-heads of the DBD community, you will see it, but you dont need to be a figure-head in the community to be a big EU streamer so it isnt even really relevant to the discussion.

As Id say whenever he checks profiles there like at least 30% chance of the guy being a Tourney Player or Comp Player…

    …Meanwhile…

…Im pulling these % out of thin air but like I said I watch Tru3's streams a lot and this is just what I observe.

(There is a long list of examples and things I could bring up but BHVR's Forum Rules wouldnt allow me, Ive had this discussion many, many times before, the dead horse has been beaten to dust by now.)

Also by extension, I dont understand why I am required to sift through hours upon hours of VODs to find examples but you can just pull a number out of thin air and it is seen as fine.

Or he could just be the most sniped DBD Streamer so that's why.

Many streamers deal with Stream Sniping… that's just one of the things about Streaming.

Tru3 isnt the most sniped, there is really no evidence to back it up, but Tru3 does bring a lot of attention to the fact that they get Stream Sniped "often" which could result in people wanting to do it for attention seeking.

Quite literally it is a prime example of this being an issue he is causing to himself.

After thinking about it more. Your argument about hex thrill of the hunt, face the darkness and retribution makes no sense. You can already make totems uncleansable for three survivors like you discribe and my suggestion doesn’t change that. The fourth survivors, who carries the effect of thrill of the hunt, is not affected by it and has to cleanse it or get healed like right now.

You can already make totems uncleansable for three Survivors like you describe and my suggestion doesnt change that.

    Except it does.

Healing the Survivor that proc'ed Hex: Face The Darkness removes the scream effect and disables the Hex Totem until another Survivor is injured again. It's the singular tiny weakness in the build.

When Hex: Face The Darkness is down, you can cleanse Hex: Retribution (or other Hexes), which forces the Killer to respect Hex Totem locations or risking having them cleansed while they are close by.

Having Hex: Retribution not be a Hex reduces the level of counterplay for this build, it just outright buffs it by reducing the risks and counterplay.

And why the other big popular streamers in the EU literally almost never get matched up with them?

If you wanna call tru3 bad etc.. Then wouldn't that mean hens is as well? But wouldn't that in turn be you admitting that MMR is in fact real and it works?

Explain why Tru3 and Hens get matched up with each other constantly?

First off, Hens has gone on record to explain how flawed MMR is and they dont face each other that much compared to what you are making it out to be. They have made many Twitter posts and videos talking about it.

Second off, region-based matchmaking is a thing. Tru3 and Hens are close enough to get connected towards the same servers due to region-based priority. It doesnt always happen, but it does happen.

    Along with other comp players.

Half the time people say they face comp teams without it actually being players who are in the DBD Comp scene. None of this is to say "they dont face Comp teams", but moreso "they face far less than you think".

Also even still, Ive faced actual competitive teams and players, in fact a lot of people have. Ive been destroyed by MomoSeven MANY times despite being an average player and very clearly not suppose to be matchmaking with them. Matchmaking focuses on speed over quality and you are just naturally bound to face competitive teams and players, it's not something special, it's just a thing that happens every now and then.

And why the other big popular streamers in EU literally almost never get matched up with them?

They do but if you dont pay attention or watch them that much you can easily miss that.

Plus regions are a very important thing as well. A lot of people are not going to paired against Hens or Tru3 because they are not close enough to their respective regions, it's why I face the same people sometimes multiple times in a row, because region-based matchmaking takes a high priority.

If you wanna call Tru3 bad, etc… Then wouldnt that means Hens is as well?

I dont think Tru3 is that bad, they win most of their games, I do think Tru3 tends to over-inflate issues or what they perceive as issues.

I do think matchmaking is flawed though, and it opens the door for low quality matches where players are paired against other players of lower/higher skill levels instead of trying to put them at an equal skill level most of the time.

  • The Switch itself is a device that already struggles, it's an issue beyond just DBD, the hardware on it isnt the best.

Nintendo did announce the Switch 2, which seems to be using hardware that is closer to a halfway decent PC, but Idk how much that will really solve tbh, since DBD's optimization on Switch is pretty bad.

  • The change for Retribution to not be a Hex doesnt make sense.

First off, for Deathslinger's Adept, it would make the perk just outright useless. His Shareable Perks does not include another Hex.

Second off, Hex: Face The Darkness + Hex: Thrill of the Hunt exists, and being Oblivious makes it so you are not considered within the Terror Radius for the sake of perk effects, meaning Face The Darkness will always proc while cleansing a totem, pair it with Hex: Thrill of the Hunt and you cannot cleanse Hex Totems. Having Retribution be a Hex creates more vulnerability with this perk combo since either perk(s) can be cleansed.

Your first mistake was asking, "because why not?"

There is a really long list of why you should not play Skull Merchant.

In all seriousness though, it is incredibly unfair that Behavior decided that nerfing her into oblivion was the only solution despite many people paying money for the dlc. Deleting her until they can rework her properly for a year or two is not good business at all.

Ever since they got unfairly gutted, Ive only seen 1 person play Skull Merchant while I was playing Survivor, so I just wanted to try them for myself since it had been awhile and they were collecting dust.

I do hope BHVR's rework comes out sooner rather than later, they need it, really bad, because they are just unplayable at the moment with the nerfs paired with the bugs.

  • Enduring, Spies From The Shadows, No Way Out, and Batteries Included on Demogorgon is usually my chill build.

    • Enduring is amazing on Demo since sometimes when Shredding a Survivor through a Pallet, you hit them, but you get pushed to the same side of the Pallet they are from the stun. Enduring pretty much gives you a free hit in those situations since you can quickly 180* and hit them (unless they have any perk that modifies Vault Speed).
    • Spies From The Shadows is just a comfort perk. Reliable information, helps with colorblindness, it increases in strength on Indoor Maps, where Survivors tend to hide more. Overall it is an amazing perk and I wish more people used it. Also, it helps with my colorblindness since on some maps I cant see Scratchmarks easily.
    • No Way Out is No Way Out. I dont have to really worry about kicking Generators and stuff, I just get extra time in the end-game to deal with anything. Idk if people consider this perk meta anymore, especially with Grim Embrace getting buffed.
    • Batteries Included pairs well with No Way Out, I can kind of just turn my brain off. It helps with loops where I cannot use Shred, and it increases the speed of Shred and the distance I travel using Shred. Technically any Haste perk functionally also works fine but Batteries Included is so hands off that I just prefer it here.

Slap on Black Heart and Rat Tail addons for the quality of life and you are set.

I tend to avoid slowperks since I find them a bit boring to play as/against, and generally speaking I rather lose fast than win slow.

    it is 2 m/s per second. 50%.

let's see how many counters these zombies have

    1. stunning with a pallet
    2. running away from a gen than LOS them in specific way makes AI ignore the survivor and path mindlessly around the map.
    3. Flashlight stun the zombie for 15 seconds.

All of these actions take minimal time investment. pallet stunning takes like 10 seconds. running away from a gen takes like 25 seconds. flashlight takes like 2 seconds. short term-wise, the zombies are poor 4vs1 game-delay tool. you lose all the gens long before the zombies have much or any impact on the match.

All of these actions take minimal time investment

    Yea… because they cost resources.

If you stun a zombie with a Pallet, that Pallet has been used, it can easily be broken by Nemesis, so you’ll almost never see anyone do this outside of very niche situations. Technically you can use Any Means Necessary to pick it up but the pick rates for the perk are so low that you’ll almost never face off against it while playing Nemesis.

Blinding a zombie with a Flashlight consumes the Battery Charges. They reduce the total amount of plays and actions you can do with the Flashlight, and depending on the quality of the Flashlight, addons, or perk build can easily result in them being dead weight really fast.

Zombies do have their flaws, but your argument of “they don’t waste because these actions are quick” completely ignored the fact that those quick actions have costs and consequences that players have to actively weigh and measure.
