  • They realy need to introduce a ranked and normal game mode..

  • Then propose something instead of just wanting the perk to be removed..

  • If people are using it for distance then what if we take away the dash and simply gives you endurance status for like 3 seconds?

  • Killers should have 5-6 perks, we are basically going against 16 perks, having only 4 and a hex perk being 1 of those perks that can be destroyed extremely fast doesn't seem fair...

  • He may not be nurse or spirit but he is really strong right now... Def top 5 imo.

  • I wouldnt mind if it deactivated after you fully heal yourself but the fact it deactivates immediately means you can get unhooked and if you started healing even for a second then it deactivates and the killer can still tunnel you...

  • Lmao, The ''I want killer/survivor perks nerfed...but I'm a killer/survivor! main'' bait is so weak.

  • It depends a lot on your standards of gameplay, I've heard truetalent say that he has a high escape rate playing solo but it depends a lot on your interpretation of ''winning'' sure he escapes most of the times but he often escapes solo while his teammates die, a solo escape is basically losing but for some people a solo escape is a ''win'' I'm pretty sure if we go by those standards of win/lose most people have a negative win rate.

Lol. Powerful argument. You just bombarded me with facts. I have no more questions for you.

Since you didn't present an argument I didn't bother presenting one either, all I see from you is constant complaining filled with salty tears so far, but I have no more quesstions for you either, you are dismissed...

Maybe I just know more about this game and/or am more honest than you? I play for both sides approximately equally. Here are my stats for this game:

    What about you?

    >I was addressing your complaint about gen-rushing.

I'm not complaining. I'm just explaining reasons for this behavior in most killers. I just, as it is customary to say here sometimes *adapted* and take as much fun from the game as I can take. Hoping for this only on myself and my skill. And on my trusted teammates. If I go to play solo, I’m not surprised if 8 matches out of 10 fail (which by the way does not always happen). Because in such games, most often at least 2 teammates are completed potatoes.

Most killers are forced to play hard because this is reality of balance. Not because they are eager to ruin someone's gaming experience.

    >Survivors that just do gens then leave, end up with a ######### match. Sure they escape, but they achieved almost nothing toward any measureable goal

They too, like a killer, simply do their task in any way possible. They escape and are alive and they won. It's enough. They just turned out to be too strong for this killer. Maybe this is not the best implementation of gameplay, but this is a question for devs, not for survivors or killers. They all just take whatever they can from the matches.

I'll give a few examples in hot pursuit. My last matches for killer during the event.

    Sometimes matches go like this

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/IS2WL6RS04TR/1.jpg

Survivor was downed again of his own stupidity (just stayed near the same hot gen, near which it was hooked, and farm his teammate right in front of my nose, after which I sawed both), decided that he would be tunnelled and DC. Although I was even going to leave him on the ground and follow the others. Others follow him and leaved too (3 SWF here). Fully ragequit.

    Sometimes like this

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/H4SNS3AY8IZ2/4.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/V6T7Y5WHUL99/5.jpg

Higher screen. Toxic brazently SWF made clicky-clicky and generally behaved like owners, in every possible way demonstrating to me how they are not afraid of me at all. I selected 4 gens on one side and just camped them in this area. Then slug three remaining ones.

Bottom. Sweaty guys making most of every pallet. And trying to deprive me of my killer ability by not drinking. 1 hook for 3 gens. Then I just forced them to drink, because without this they would not be able to safely approach the hook and save. Then hooked next one near the red fountain. And then I used these red fountains to maximum when they try to save. You see result. When survivors abuse everything they can and try to rob me of my ability, it's okay. When I force them to play according to my rules, I am bad, I am Russian, and they wish me death from cancer. Just because I'm not playing the game the way they want. Someone was talking about double standards here, huh?

    And sometimes like this

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/DXEPK3IT4DOZ/2.jpg

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/M58EVH7HY3X3/3.jpg

This is a full-SWF. But I downed them much faster than gens were done. So I managed to hooked everyone twice and still had enough time. I could have just killed them all, but instead just down them a few times and let them raise each other. For farm the entire category. Then I let them all go. I saw them in my next lobby. And even pulled a cake from bloodweb for them.

So if I, as a killer, got everything I needed from a match and didn't see BM (Bad Manners), as you can see, I don't mind giving them a good game. But if gens fly quickly and I see that it is difficult to catch them or if they play toxic, then I play hard. Because otherwise they will leave me with nothing. Tough guys don't need indulgences. And I'm not a medium to know in advance what each specific survivor will be like. Therefore, I usually start hard. Otherwise, later, I won't have time. Strong survivors will not forgive you even 10 extra seconds. Each counts. These are the realities of killer game. Only then, if I see that I'm doing well, I can slow down and think about someone else's fun from the match. But even in this case, I am not obliged to do this and no one has the right to demand it. Because as far as I can see, no one of survivors almost ever does me any favors.

And this is not a question of killer's skill. Potentially, every survivor could just rush killer and leave him with nothing. This does not require anything supernatural. I myself have done this many times, playing in SWF. When I'm with 3 good survivors, we destroy 80-95% of killers in one evening. And it's not even because we have voice coordination. Simply because we know how to play this game. Even playing together, but without voice chat, we will not play much worse. And most survivors can do it. The whole problem, as I said, is only that now there is a huge number of weak survivors in the game. Who constantly make the wrong decisions in matches and don't know how to hold on for a long time in chase.

Or maybe you are just extremely self centered and vain.

Its known that pc player who play without crossplay are really sweaty. So thats probably the problem.

I literally turned it off yesterday, I'm talking out of past experiences with cross play on..

You could say the same thing about DS. But the reality is, how good you are at looping doesn’t even matter half the time in this game. You can get bad RNG, you might be one of the last survivors alive, the killer might be playing someone like Nurse, etc.

The only perk you need for looping is dead hard anyways although I prefer sprint burst. Other than that your perk slots as survivor are pretty much disposable unless you want BT or Unbreakable or something (which I don’t feel the need to run usually).

I guess you can make the argument that the killer will eventually get you, and it's true but I've never had problems when it comes to looping killers, I pretty much loop them playing 'without ''run/hide perks'' and by that I mean that all my perk loadout is a support build (we'll make it, empathy, detectives hunch and such) rather than a ''run/hide from the killer build'' (perks like sprint burst or lucky break) and I do well most of the times.

I disagree with your statement that looping doesn't matter, when they chase me for the first time usually they leave me (when they see they can't catch me as fast as they want) and if they don't then 3 gens get done by the time they catch me, so I take that as a win for the team if we get 3 gens done for only 1 hook, it's pretty much a win for the survivors at that point, it's a good trade in my opinion.

You don't need safe pallets if the killer can be three feet away and still needs to walk the maze for a minute to get to you.

You do, some killers struggle like huntress but that's normal with killers like huntress in an indoor map.

  • @SilentPill said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2337052#Comment_2337052

You know you can use them both at the same time right?

Iron will, lucky break, quick and quiet, inner strength and you can just straight up jump into a locker and heal mid chase. I’d probably offer with an indoor map while I’m at it.

Yes but if you want to waste 4 perks on a survivor for a single purpose (if your intention is to lose the killer) then I'd advise you to get better at looping instead, any killer will leave you if they see that you are a good looper and they can't catch you, most killers leave me after the initial chase when they notice they can't catch me and I can focus on using other perks instead of having to use a full perk loadout that tries to solve a single problem and it isn't even guaranteed that it will completely solve it in the first place...

  • I play on pc, I recently turned off crossplay because console players having issues...

You can demand, but nobody cares about it. Nobody in this world owes anything to anyone. From strangers at least.

    >I think everyone should be trying to make the game fun.

This could only work if everyone, or at least most, wanted it. But in reality, being an altruist in the world of egoists, only you will lose. Also, there is always a winner and a loser in the game. You are unlikely to make both happy. Some people just need to learn to accept defeat.

    >I try to figure out how to make the game fun.

I don't want to figure out how to make the game fun for everyone, while my opponents want to make it fun only for themselves. In reality, the majority behave this way.

    >I certainly don't want to be hooking someone out of a match without doing anything else just because I'm not creative enough to find a better way to play.

It's not a question of creativity. It's a question of balance. And you would have understood this if you don't play more survivor than killer.

    >without doing anything else

Btw, nobody said "stand there and do nothing more." For many survivors, it is enough to see you return to the hook to complain. Even if you gave enough chances to save for others. Actually 50-80% of my "camp and tunnel" is caused by survivors' mistakes. For example, sitting on gen to the last, missing the moment when it was possible to save. Their teammates just traded them for gens. But, of course, the killer is to blame, who should not have come near the hook at all, so that they could invest as much time as possible in gens, and then save by the end of the stage. As a survivor, I always think about how and when to do it better. But they don't want to use their brains. They prefer to simply demand that killer play in a way that suits them. It is your task to beat him and think about how best to do it. If killer just stands at hook and does nothing, he will lose with smart survivors. And if he is smart, then he also understands it. So your task is to make him want to get away from hook. Make to think him what stand there will be unprofitable. And smart survivors will find how to do it. Or just two will come running and unhooked him. Or he gets his one kill and other three flee. I have verified this personally, many times. But most simply cannot turn on their heads and evaluate the match globally. They just hear terror and immediately call it camp and tunneling, they do not understand at all what the killer is doing at the moment.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2336740#Comment_2336740

Beat any survivor, you mean? Not. The balance in this game is on the side of the survivors. 4 smart survivors - have a chance to beat any killer much more than 50%. And if the killer plays on "fairplay" - much more. I am far from always play "non-fairplay" killer. But only because in a public now has a huge number of weak survivors.

I knew you would have an incredible hypocritical double standard.

  • My opinion on this perk as both red rank 1 survivor and killer is that it tries to solve a problem that doesn't really exist. I almost never follow/chase someone based on blood or scratch marks, I have a good headset so I base my chases on sight, experience and sound, when I get blinded for example I keep chase by listening to the survivor (the sound they make when they run) and by experience (I take a look around and see what good spots are nearby and think which route the survivor took based on my experience playing survivor as well) with a good headset and when you get used to it you can even tell when a survivor is hiding inside a locker without even being injured.

Iron will is a good example of this, despite the fact that you leave scratch marks and pools of blood with iron will a good killer can still lose a survivor if they don't make a sound, the complete opposite of what happens with this perk, a lot of killers base their chases on sight/experience and sound, not on blood or scratch marks, some times I happen to stumble upon some scratch marks and follow them to get a general idea as to where survivors are but those are some minor instances.

I stop tunneling and camping, when I stop seeing toxicity from survivors and time to gens done will be increased.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2336363#Comment_2336363

Good survivors can beat any killer.

    @Sypherpathic

    >I think killers should be looking at how to make the match fun for everyone playing.

Oh my goodness. People still think that someone else should provide them with fun instead. Superegocentric position. Most survivors will not make gifts to killer in this game. They use every possible means to win, no matter how "unfair" they seem. (remember at least the "antitunnel" DS, which was abused until he was nerfed. Or those who were unhooked with "anti-tunnel" BT just deliberately run right in the face of killer, so that he just wasted his time. And not even in a situation when a wounded teammate is nearby. Just think about it - survivor runs straight into the killer's face, not away from him, and then complains about tunneling. I've seen this many times. ) So why should killers do this gifts? Grow up at last and stop thinking that other people owe you something. You will get just as much fun as you earn with your own efforts. Yes, you can get a gift. But only if they themselves want it. But you DO NOT HAVE the RIGHT to demand this from others.

I play 50/50 on both sides for over 3000 hours. And I never require gens to do slower, or anything else. I play as well as I can without hoping that any of them will make the game easier for me. Because it's just plain stupid. Everyone wants pleasure for themselves first.

This is while I know playing a killer against competent survivors is much more difficult. The killers winrate is now provided only by the total unskilled of most of survivors. However, I never cry in the chat that the gens were turned on too quickly, that I got 4 DH, Unbreakable, Adrenaline, etc. And I never cry for a survivor if I lose. But if I play well on killer, I see whining in every second match. Simply because most of the players are children who cannot take responsibility for their own defeat and prefer to blame someone else for it.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2336371#Comment_2336371

    >Quite often you will find it full of "Camping/tunneling/trash killer comments".

Most good killer players will have comments like this. For the reason described above.

Can I flip it around and say that a good killer can beat any killer or are you gonna have a double standard? because if that s the case then we need to nerf some killers...

  • I'd say around 80% of the pallets there are unsafe AF, there's only like 2 good pallets and that's it.

  • He was not solo, he admitted that he was playing SWF who were using the same gen rushing build to help him with his video, you can even see that the names of his teammates are the same for the first 2 games (and even then he still lost 1 of his matches against that pig even when playing with a SWF team) and the game that he actually tried to do this solo he lost horribly with 3 gens still left.

If anything this proves that a gen rushing build is not something that happens naturally when playing solo (most solo players equip a med kit because they know they can't rely on their teammates to heal them, so most of us decide to go for a med kit to be self efficient) only a SWF team can do this since they can rely on each other to heal, and even then this strategy still fails most of the times like shown in the video since he lost most of his matches. if anything this video shows that a good killer will be able to control the match no matter what even if the SWF is running a gen rushing build...

  • @TicTac said:

Which rank are you? I almost never see this happen.

I am rank 1 and I see nurses every day slug the entire team, almost every match I go against a nurse or spirit, but I'll take a spirit any day over a nurse...a good nurse can slug the entire team in a minute...

  • Midwich a ''strong survivor map'' Lmao, who told you that?

  • Or make kicking generators something actually worth doing without needing to run pop.

  • I'd say they turn it on and off every day, it's like yesterday I had extremely good teammates, all red ranks that knew how to loop and my escape rate was like 8 out of 10 matches, today I'm getting green and even some yellow rank potato teammates that go down not even 20 seconds into the game and my escape rate is like 3 out of 10 so far...

  • The irony here is that killer mains complained about loops, they ontroduce killers that can ignore loops and now they complain about shift + w (when it's the only thing you can do against a killer than can ignore loops) it's like they want an empty map for them to just get easy wins.

  • No idea why this happens at random, I have a GTX1060 and I almost never have this issue, I get steady 90 fps... I don't know if unlocking your FPS cap will help, I removed the cap since I started playing and never had this issue...

  • a lot of players will use that information to avoid playing the game if they see the game has a low player count at a specific time, contributing to the problem.

  • I really don't know why people take the game so seriously, I'm a red rank survivor and killer and I always play with nothing in mind, sometimes I de-pip from rank 1 to 5 as survivor and as killer too, I just play to have fun and play killers like pig/clown/demogorgon on red ranks without caring if I'm gonna pip or get a 4k, yes it's hard to get a 4k on red ranks with some killers but why care? just play the game for fun instead of thinking if a specific killer is competitive or not....just play, that's what games were about, just mindless fun...

  • 500%? I thought they said they didn't stack?

you know you can use med kits on survivors other than yourself right?

Yes but it's better to use it on yourself. Most people do that...

  • Lmao, you are saying killers are bad for using noed, but if you lose to a bad killer what does that make you then? Super bad?

  • The problem with bloodpoints for survivors is that a camping/tunneling killer will deny boldness/altruism points basically denying 2/4 of your total score. That's why most of the times you will end up with max objective and survival points but with little to no points on the other 2 categories.

  • The problem with the perk is that once you hit a survivor they can run away outside of the ''hold'' radius (since it's only 16m) to the next loop and the perk becomes useless. Take out the ''hex'' status from the perk and increase the radius (25m) and it should be fine.

  • Completely invisible to people with bad eyesight like me (The guy has to de-cloak in front of me otherwise I can't tell where he is) with no terror radius, and with his add on that makes his bell sound all over the map it becomes almost impossible for me to deal with. Worst thing is that he is completely undetectable while standing still so he can camp a generator, a slugged player or a hook very well. I know he is weak but I kinda hate him, seriously....match me against a spirit, I'd rather deal with a spirit than a wraith.

  • I just hate it when it's a couple and they hold hands the entire match, I've had so many matches with couples that go down at the same time because they want to go together all the time, I had a match against a bubba and 2 streamers went down at the same time and both ended hooked in the basement.

Personal experience it's been split. While yes on some maps deadzones are issues that need fixing. It's important not to ignore the maps like Badham which some like Van choose to ignore.

And it's fine If they want to remove pallets but take a look at this other example, absolutely nothing there, they could at least put some rocks/tires or even bushes in there so that you can at least try to hide or something, there is nothing you can do on a dead zone like this one. Seriously I'll try to loop a rock with no pallets nearby just give us something...this is a waste.

    20210609235848_1.jpg

  • It can be any map but reworked maps tend to be reworked into dead zones, this is a 360 screenshot of where I spawned using windows of opportunities, 0 pallets...and the only ''loopable'' building is a jungle gym far away that you can see on the screenshot on the right.

    20210617002657_1.jpg

  • Pretty sure they want to do their ''deplete 6 med kits'' challenge..

  • I don't know how people can't see that nurse is a bigger problem than spirit, a good nurse can down everyone in a minute, at least with spirit you can pre drop pallets and somehow make it to the end game, a good nurse can literally slug you in less than a minute and you cant even use pallets against her.

  • @Orion said:

I'm a survivor main. Can you address the actual arguments?

    You made an argument? where?

  • People who complain about holding W are probably the same who never double back or mind game pallets and then come here to complain because a survivor looped him around the same pallet 6 times LOL.

  • I don't think maps need to be smaller, some maps are actually smaller than what the wiki shows (or at least the actual usable area of the map, most maps have giant dead zones that are there for no reason since no survivor will actually go there) look at the example below, supposedly 144 square tiles, but how much will it shrink if we take away all the dead zones? (and that was not the only edge of the map that was a giant dead zone) and that's not even the smallest map, imagine dead dawg salon if we took away all the edges of the map that are basically there for no reason other than be a dead zone with no pallets or anything.

    20210609235848_1.jpg

  • Its a team based game, if you refuse to help your teammates you will probably lose, the same way you lost all those matches because they refused to help you, you will become what you hate and will only be a detriment to your teammates in all of your future matches the same way your teammates were a detriment to you, you will contribute to solo queue being a nightmare.

Well that's the problem with pretty much all multiplayer games. People will abuse it but that's to be expected. This is why things such as muting a player exist in multiplayer games. It's to help weed it out and make it a better experience overall for everyone, rather than just have it reserved for people who group up with their friends. If you make a good relationship with people in game it could also potentially help you escape in the end.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2311301#Comment_2311301

I understand this point as well. And it's a good one to make. Something as simple as saying "Let me loop him for a bit guys" could help solo queue just simply up the efficiency of anyone who hears it though. It would feel closer to SWF level gameplay. Which in turn if there was a balance change necessary, devs would be able to do it with minimal pushback from a portion of a role.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2311276#Comment_2311276

I understand that the idea of this has been around for a minute, however most arguments I have seen with proximity chat is "Add it, I think it would be cool" I am just bringing up this perspective of how it would help solo queue survs close the gap to SWF level.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2311329#Comment_2311329

Something as simple as a hotkey to mute each surv (1, 2, 3, or 4) could fix this issue with minimal interruptions in-game

Actually the main reason the idea has been proposed for so long is because solo queue is a nightmare compared to SWF, there's like a million posts here that actually and literally include the words ''solo queue nightmare'' not because ''it's cool'' the devs have said multiple times they are aware solo queue is bad because of communication issues and also have said they don't want that for solo queue regardless of the purpose you intend to give it, so this post is beating a dead horse.

  • Comunication playing solo queue is more of a problem here, I have no problems when I play with my duo, we can tell each other if we can do a gen to escape, when you play solo you don't know if the other guy is being chased or not so you don't know if doing a gen is safe.

  • The idea of proximity chat has been around almost since the game launched, the devs have said time and time again they dont want that for solo queue.

  • Any in door map, finding generators is a nightmare...

1 … 3 4 5 6 7 … 10
