  • Im normally a big rpg player. Used to really love mmo's too. At some point I fell out of playing shooters because to me it really became boring. And fighting games were challenging but I felt rewarded for my time invested learning moves and frames etc.

Dead by Daylight fills a spot that not many games can for me these days. I strictly play killer. Only touched survivor 1 time around release and was not at all my thing. Only in the Entitys realm can i immerse myself somewhat and have a different expirience Win or Lose. Every survivor plays differently even if some prefer meta perks. Its the way an individual uses these which makes a trial unique. And as a killer i dont always massacre. Sometimes It feels like my prey is expirienced and i have to outsmart them. Other times im clearly the one with the power and they have to outsmart me. Sometimes a winning match becomes a losing one and vise versa. Its probably what i enjoy about Dead by Daylight and keeps me hooked. Even if i end up taking a break, here I still am playing this game while theres others I played liked and have never touched after completion or have had the urge to replay at all.

  • If im having ######### games and want to have fun?

Leatherface. Even if i win or lose. I have fun.

If im having bad games and want to obliterate all signs of humanity both in me and survivors?

The Doctor. No stealth. Constant screaming. Hit animation is satisfying. Also Doctors laugh after shock therapy makes me Lol

  • @legacy

Yeah it seems like im better off just not attempting his. I dont dislike him (definitely not my favorite) but its kind of another tier of annoyance all togethef

  • Sucks about the wisdom teeth i remember getting all 4 removed while i was in the military. Still had to get up early for Physical Training Formations and at the time some NCO decided we (those with profiles ((the equivalent of a doctors note which says what you cant and cant do etc etc for x amount of time)) should at least walk the track.

Normally we'd stay behind in the common area and wait till PT was over. It sucked. Plus still go about your duties and training..

  • Its the most obnoxious noise i deal with in this game as a killer. But these days i literally ignore any clicky click click bait.

"Oh you want me to chase you?"

Completely ignores them and normally end up with several hooks and fairly easier chases (much easier than when i would trigger and take bait)

Try and ignore them. In the end they are mostly BM or are trying to trigger you into tunneling or w.e. If you fall for it, the clicky click wins. Dont let them win!

  • @MegMain98

I like the trapper ones but honestly i struggle too. It seems that it is much easier to get people to step on a trap when im running hex perks because some survivors seem to have an undying need to cleanse lit totems (which i can understand)

What i dont understand is the to die over said totems. Hex: Ruin on trapper has often turned into a 3 or 4 survivors trying to cleanse the totem while i minefield the proximity of said totem inbetween downs hooks and chases. It can be fun and funny at times everyone trying to either cleanse/rescue/heal in the area the totem spawned. Chaotic but fun lol. Doesnt always go that way obviously

  • @FairP1ayer

Yeah that does sound rough. I dislike having to use ruin on most my killers but it seems like it always shows up on my bloodwebs before pop goes the weasel or corrupt intervention. -_-

But when it does work im able to down several survivors, if not get a couple hooks before it gets taken out.

  • @pemberley

I dont skip Leatherfaces because its surprisingly easy to get chainsaws woth him over Billy which i loathe. Ill do them but its often over several taxing trials. It seems most of players know how to dodge the billys chainsaw. With leatherface its not easy, but with right add ons or from learning how to maneuver while chainsawing it makes it much easier.

Once you do get around to playing them it becomes easier but i only started now due to wanting all the teachables unlocked. I got Leatherfaces.. I keep postponing billy tho lol

  • @TragicSolitude

I will never ever again try to complete it. It is solo much harder than i ever thought it would be. And to make things worse i completely suck as playing ghostface. It seems like SWF lobbies are a little more common on console than i ever remember them being on PC. So the moment they are aware its a ghostface killer the difficulty of completing the stalking portion of the daily alone multiplies.

But im just one more away from never having to do it again and i feel like i cant give up now. Its becoming the bane of my existance. Lol

  • @ocafghanistan

Is that because its an end game type daily that your competing with other survivors over or because its a struggle to even get there (the end game) sometimes and have to also open the gate yourself?

  • Wow that sounds pretty terrifying honestly.

I only play killer and the idea of a second killer versus the same or less survivors sounds intriguing but definitely OP and unfun.

  • @Mochan

I can see that honestly. It seems like for the most part when i receive a new daily. Its a killer one. On the rare occurence it not a killer daily. It often replaced by a killer after just rerolling it once. At most ive rerolled a survivor daily 2 times and it goes to a killer daily. Where killer dailys i do refill often go to another killer with a low chance of it going to it rerolling into a survivor. Thats my expirience with the reroll mechanic as of right now.

I would like if some day they maybe made it be able to be rerolled an extra time a day with the fee of maybe some bloodpoints. Although i dont know what the appropriate amount should be.

Mmm, dunno. Do the devs really not ban, even when we have a player doing it endlessly to grief?

If he aint holding a game hostage then basically no. Tunnel and Camping has been said by devs themselves is a legit in game strategy. (While it is douchy) So if your not hacking, holding game hostage, being repeatedly toxic in post game chat ("#########" type stuff ((although I personally dont know if thats ban worthy or what))) then no you can continue playing the game with no worries

  • Keys? What keys? Im surprised you can squint your eyes that many times to even see keys bro. Bonus points for you.

But as killer i have had bunch of key latch escapes. 2 out of every 4 or 5 games involve keys. And i only ever notice a key in lobby 2 ouf of maybe 8 times they are actually carrying them.

  • So theres bad and nasty people out there in the world.

But ohmygawd they dare come onto the internet and into video games too?!?! The horror...

Its not bannable. Just another bad douchy person amongs the many out there. I didnt even click the files since it seems you lack the decency to blur peoples names in hopes to shame or get a witch hunt going??

You can vent dude. But people are going to voice their opinions about it when you make your own opinion public.

  • People just dislike anything that involves invisibility, teleportation or a mixture of both. (See Nurse, Spirit, and Freddy)

If you want to DC id say go for it. Why?

Because sooner than later those harsher DC penalties will roll in with how much theyve been testing the dedicated servers. And once that time comes you'll either have to sit through a game with the killer (or survivors behavior/items etc) you dislike or face bans. Im so ready for some bans on both parts.

But no Freddy isnt unfun. Hes much MUCH healthier than old Freddy was. And personally old Freddy was just a noob stomper (mostly) because of the way his power used to work. Either the survivors were screwed or Freddy would be pretty much useless for a whole trial (if they were good or swf)

And please for the love of all things good, Every Killer has the same lunge distance.... Stop with Freddys lunge range is insane stuff. Its his model ingame which gives this feeling. Not the actual lunge being extra long.

  • I Main Doctor and The Plague. I would religiously spam those 2 for a looooooong time.

Now in my quest to unlock Teachables ive discovered how fun Leatherface can be, even if its not an ideal match most of the time. I find i enjoy him even in losing more so than any of the other killers and even my mains.

I have literally probably played a bit of everyone at this point and I despise playing as nurse and only do so when im looking to Depip.

Legion is probably the only Killer ive not touched and it's mostly due to both the wall of text that is his power (I play on console and it cuts off screen. So how am i supposed to get a sense of what he does if i cant even read his power prior to purchasing) and the mixed threads i constantly see of people who do play him asking for buffs/add on changes/rework. I do hear he is fun to play as regardless.

  • I'm ready for more another DC epidemic!

Killers: RAGE because survivors robbed him of a challenge he almost completed DC.

Survivors: Rage cose killer (or other survivors) robbed them of challenge completion.

Both sides are going to be bad about it. Although with killers theres only 1 killer in a trial..

Survivors are 4 individuals each trying to complete a different (or the same challenge)

So while DCs is already a bad issue on both ends, i predict this to increase the bad behavior.

  • Survivor groups who have been in Que for a while will pretty much get priority for a lobby. Even if its at the max 6 level cap. It doesnt really mean much if you been waiting less than a minute as killer or not. I always dread getting close to that rank 10 "half" Mark because you pretty much are in that window to be paired with the entirety of purple ranks and also the red ranked (4s)

  • Thank you OP for asking! And thank you also to the ones who answered. Its been driving me crazy wondering what it meant lol

  • While im not a fan of the emblem system. I also dont want kills to be the sole (or heavily) deciding factor for pipping.

Some of us are not ready for Red Ranks or Purples for that matter. Basing it on kills would mean people would be reaching those ranks regardless just on play time alone. Sometimes its not skill that gets you 3ks or 4ks. Survivor mistakes can be a huge factor even 1 mistake can result in those outcomes.

  • If im playing ghostface i Tbag pretty much anytime im not doing the objective. I probably look like a spaz sometimes. Dont care if i get ownd, if im owning. T bag. Feel bad for the last survivor if i happen to catch them because i will tbag in their face till the entity ends the trial.

I dont play survivor at all so pretty much ghostface is my only time i get to tbag.

  • I got the giggles when I saw the Articles tittle earlier today since I do enjoy Rupauls drag race. Then later died laughing watching the video lol

  • Yeah as s killer i only use BBQ for the BP. Its a painful grind to unlock teachables on killers i dislike or dont play at all.

Ruin is not at all a perk i enjoy using and will use any other slow down perk if I happen to be lucly enough to unlock em in the bloodweb.

Unless im playing trapper. Lol because I can defend it and get at least 2 or more hooks before it goes away. Im told its useless in higher ranks but i could care less because ranks are a joke and I would never try that hard to get into reds or purple. If i need to derank I just play my lv 1 killers and the games tend to go in record time and i also depip.

  • @Fibijean

I can understand that. I to this day dont play survivor so I often have to come here to find answers to things survivor related. Also makes sense as to why the group with toolboxes pretty much demolished the hex (and my traps!) Ruthlessly lol

    Thank you for the insight!

  • Im all for buffs. Buffs for solos survivors would mean buff for killers in general. My only concern over what period time would these killers be getting buffs to bridge the gap? Newly released killers would probably not be an issue as they could be created with the new level playing field but what about the older ones?? The devs dont have the greatest of track record when it comes to reworks.

See old freddy and how long he remained in the state he was before he was changed.

See legion who remains in a butchered state even today (also plenty of threads constantly asking or suggesting or brainstorming possible buffs etc etc)

The nurse is only just now about to go live with the changes the devs implemented but she had been basically the way she was since shes been in-game.

And theres still a list of killers which they have on the radar for tweaks and add on rework? How long will this grand picture if closing said gap truly take???

  • As a killer only player on PS4 I consistently get into a lobby within 2mins. Ive played at all different times of day and at night it feels the best (worse) because it takes less than maybe 30 seconds.

I say worse also because these matches are rarely ever with survivors of my skill level or ranking. I'll get the survivors who have been waiting for ages for their games but also normally tend to always be the maximum cap of 6 levels from me. So I normally am happy to be playing relatively fast. Its often frustrating matches back to back to back. And dont get me wrong i enjoy both difficult trials agaisnt expirienced survivors but it can be very taxing when that's all you ever get as a killer who sometimes wants to chill. Not go for a 4k or 3k even. Like a 2k is more than cool. Or on the opposite spectrum im playing the chillest ever agaisnt inexperienced survivors 6 levels below... And still get 3ks (not 4k because ive lately been carrying alot of people to hatches. Plus its chill mode playing)

I wish killers werent in such demand on ps4. Mind you this doesmt even mention the bugs frame issues etc etc etc

  • Im going to also have to say no.

Theres perks in the game for killers to already slow down survivor healing. And tracking perks for the killers to find injured survivors (but a headset does just as well with hearing the grunts etc). Perks for killeds to regress gens that your trying tk keep survivors off of.

Some games arent going to go your way as a killer, but theres definitely already alot of tools that we have to deal with survivors healing specifically.

  • I only ever bring an Ebony Mori as insurance. If I suspect a full swf thats what im offering. Not because i want to be sweaty and go for the win (because honestly its not a win since i lose more BPs than its worth) but I like to be able to punish toxicity with death. Lol most of the time it goes unused.

Most of the time if you try to kill everyone from the get go your met with a DC party.

And if I really want to take just one person out i can just bring an ivory Mori. But honestly if i bring that one im often more brutal than with an Ebony. Because if youve been hooked once you better hope i dont ever see you or down you after your initual hook, because with an ivory mori I dont care about wether anyone was being toxic. You just had the misfortune of seeing me twice in the trial.

I dont agree that Survivors not DCing would lessen the use of Ebony moris. Some people want to make others suffer and thats what an Ebony Moro offers. Mass suffering. As most killers honestly love to use them specifically for suspected SWF. I dont feel guilty about using an Ebony. Ive played this game long enough and remember the games being held hostage by survivors before EGC was implemented. Till its changed (because im noy agaisnt somekind of change to the Ebony mori specifically) I'll still use it if i warrant it and not feel any remorse.

  • Well then. Being one of the few who voted for overcharge, guess I'll comment. I mostly use this over the rest because Its a doctor perk and thats my dude. But it seems to fit pretty well with my usual 3 gen strategy. If theyre working on a Gen I dont want them to, I kick it, and when I get a notification if they miss the skill check and I can return to the gen to chase em off.

I also dont have PGTW because trying to level up the clown seems like such a drag right now.

  • As much as I love this game i will probably be abandoning ship when this tittle drops. And if it happens to fail then i can always just come back on the ship. Lol

I still wish this game all the success it deserves. But yeah i can see how it may hurt DBD in the short term. The long term remains to be seen since its not released yet so we cant be sure on how successful it'll actually be.

  • Sorry your dealing with some peoples BMs. I switched over to console because i couldnt handle the post game chat on PC. But someone recently told me that i could have hid the post game chat? (Unsure if it would have to be done every game or if it would stay hidden)

At least on console you can choose to block messages from non-friends. I seem to go back and forth since sometimes it is nice to get a gg or anything thats not someone being intentionally douchy

  • @LordGlint

I have not, ive been sparred from the dedicated servers since i play on ps4 and I also dont have myers unlocked (yet.)

But i do get on the forums enough to follow and read peoples frustration with bugs on pc or the dedicated servers themselves (or lack of issues for others)

I do believe i just read about the myers t3 bug though

  • If she uses her Vile purge (the green vomit) you run the risk of getting to full sickness which is when the survivor starts puking. It also means your in a broken state till you cleanse at a fountain (you'll then return to uninjured state)

Although by doing so the fountain becomes unusable for others to cleanse and the plague now can activate her Corrupt Purge at that fountain. (This is a black/red vomit) which injures you if hit but is not a one hit down unless you happen to already be in the injured state.

Edit: if you do remain sick and dont cleanse and she either meele hits you or happens to use corrupt purge on you while fully sick you will be knocked into the dying state. (This can be referred to by some people as a one hit down)

  • @LordGlint

I appreciate it. If i do run into again, im afraid I'll have to take an extended break from DBD. Ive played this on and off for years but had never seen something like that in any of those times and there have been constant bugs that have plagued this game but that was something else. I dont wish it it anyone. My nerves are shot and i dont have it in me to game anymore for the rest of the night lol.

  • @LordGlint

If the developers are aware that its a bug then they wont punish the player for something he had no control over. I specified that it might have been a bug since it wasnt present at the start of the match or at the end as far as i was aware. But on the chance it may have been someone abusing or hacking I submitted it. They should be better equipped to determine stuff like that on their end (i would asume)

  • @Sairek

If that's the case that is one heck of a rare bug, I must be one lucky (or unlucky) guy. Kinda makes me wish I had a scratch off or lottery ticket. Lol

I'll take it as a sign that I should not play DBD tonight.

  • @Yamaoka

I had hit that survivor and hooked her at least once during the trial but after she was unhooked i did not see her again till when that video starts.

    @Ark_the_Bonsai

I was able to submit a ticket with the link and i added the proof. If it was intentional I hope it's dealt with and if it was some rare bug i hope nobody ever encounters it in their games because its really nasty.

  • @Ark_the_Bonsai

I sure did. How do I report them? Ive never had to report anything before in my years playing this game and i would very much appreacite a point in the right direction because these kinds of players who do things like that kill any resembles of fun or fairness.

  • @MisterCremaster

i would assume so because this literally lasted over a minute. I continued to chase her and she started doing very obnoxious running patterns. I was attempting to down someone else after slugging a survivor since it was a SWF group and they were all trying to heal her or distract me but she was the only one carrying an insta heal med kit and it was the only reason that survivor got back up. I literally gave up after that and when they powered the last gen i opened the gate and chainsawed in a corner. Ive experienced rage before but nothing like i have tonight.

  • I hated that damn thing. Creepy as #########. I still remember watching the first movie while i was stationed in South Korea. At somepoint i became very aware that i was watching it in a dark room. Proceeded to turn the lights on and had to clear the closet and living area due to paranoia.

Yep I'm all down for it. But have absolutely no clue what kind of power he would possess.

I do wanna point out alot of the good buffs Devs have done cause of community feedback.

    Freddy, for example.

And i would also like to point out how long did it take for freddy to be reworked and or buffed? You indeed have a valid point but if it takes years for a freddy level buff to happen. Sit back for a long wait.

  • I suck badly as ghostface. Always getting revealed. At this point i just use him as a m1 killer that can hide his TR. When I actually focus on unlocking his teachables I'll either hate my life or 'get gud' but it'll probably be the first...

Really? I thought that revealed your location. That’s a stupid name for that effect. Explains a lot of other situations though

People have told the devs that " exposed"being used as the word for "you can be downed in one hit" was a bad idea because of exactly what you just said. Its misleading.

  • Sounds like you were exposed. His ability to stalk you to full bar means your a one hit down from full health for I forget how long

You could've just hidden chat (the little arrow next to the chatbox).

I could be wrong but didnt i have to always hide it after every trial. Because even when leaving the end game lobby my eyes would catch words there and thats enough to trigger my anxiety. Lol really the game without the chat itself is bad for me but it helps not being subjected to peoples toxicity on top of it.

  • Lol I love his after hit animation. And i always go into the trial with my Blight skin for him. Its so bright but honestly, hes anti stealth and all you end up worrying about is his treatment mode which is ranged and wether you will end up being looped by a good survivor

Change lightning effects on Doctor from blue to glowing orange, change Wraith uncloak/cloak from orange to brighter orange, change trapper trap pickup to leak orange fluid and shine orange when they trap a survivor, change Spirits haunting exit to have an orange fluid outline, change Huntress hatchets tracer effects (the lines behind a soaring hatchet) from grey to glowing orange, etc... I know I'm Probably talking out of my ass here, but color changes like this seem like small potatoes to me in comparison to the effort they put into the full cosmetics. Is it wrong that I yearn for them to go just 1 step further for these cosmetics and give them that little extra oomph in value?

No i dont think your wrong. But even skins can bring bugs to the game. And i feel BHVR may not be big enough to balance the game and the maps and the perks and new content and etc etc while also solving the issues which seem to plague this game every patch. Im low key dreading what may break when the nurse/Insta heal rework goes live. Ugh.

Then again i dont know anything about coding. So just speculating

I completely agree, I forgot to mention Doctor was someone I played very early on. He's just a ton of fun to shock-slap people! Good bp and I usually let the survivors go after a hook on everyone with BBQ. Good fun for everyone because oh lord does getting looped playing him bite hard..

He was the killer who got me through my noob days. I would run around the map lost and not find anybody before i picked him up. Now I dont need the training wheels i feel he provides to some. But it never gets old.

I think most people have their stuff blocked from randoms messaging them on steam/console which sucks because people lose out on social interaction ):

I honestly switch back and forth. Lately ive been on a good streak. Have been thanked by people I carried to the hatch several occasions now. And have gotten GGs.

But im sure I'll switch it back to blocked when someone starts trying to BM me. Lol I have anxiety issues and im an introvert. I specifically switched to console to not deal with post game chat. Its nice to have an option on when to shut out society and when to let them in.
