No. I wouldnt wish this evil on any of my friends. Community is mostly toxic and the game itself is contantly either broken from bugs and updates with an abundance of "non game breaking" issues which doesnt excuse the state its in.
I wish much better on my friends.

Theres 3 survivors i try to never let escape trials.
Claudettes.
Janes.
Nancy's.
I rarely see Claudettes till its the last 2 survivors.
Jane's just has a stuck up look in my opinion.
Nancy. I dont know why, maybe it was because when Stranger things dlc dropped there was an abundance of them all with that bright sweatshirt. I could see them a mile away and screamed "target me". So now I just see a big ol' crosshair target on them when one's in match.

Wouldnt change anything if they punished a killer for face camping or tunneling. Most people have recognized that the ranking system is flawed and dont really care what they are ranked at.
Some specifically refuse to rank past a certain rank and will religiously de-pip on purpose.
Theres also casuals who if they had the option would play a non ranked que.
Plus even if they did add anything. Peoples in-game behavior would only change if they actually cared about ranks. So a good number of people would Still face camp/tunnel. And by punishing killers more than they punish themselves in those scenarios anything point related then the people who derank to bully lower ranks and have easy games.
-
While it may be a team game and you are rewarded points for altruism. More often than not, randoms screw other randoms over. And since some dont care for rank. You see alot of solo survivors doing the bare minimum when it comes to helping teammates out.

if there is pre-match chat on PS4 like there is on PC, you can ask the other survivors to let you open all the chests, and tell them that you will leave the items, because you don't need to pick up the items for the challenge.
They dont have a chat like on PC. Consoles just have a campfire screen and no way for us to communicate with randoms. Luckily i did complete the tome rather easily last night :D thank god

Everyone was complaining that the rift is too much grind and 90% are casuals, but here we are, everyone's progres is above 17.5 witch is 1/4 of a tome. And every 2 weeks new set of challenges will be released, and (if you will concistently get 17,5 tiers completing these chalenges) everyone will complete the pass. So stop complaining about anything so early.
Lol for the most part most of the people here had levels unlocked when the rift did drop. Doesnt make the rift pass any less bad and people are still complaining about it. There still threads popping up just cant see them with all the "nerf spirit" "dont need spirit" blah blah.
Ive only reached 23 because ive been on vacation and am also not a casual player and have basically been playing 6 or more hours a day. But vacations over tuesday. That means my gaming time will drop to maybe an hoolur or 2 every few days. And i already had 7 levels it finally went live.
-
Ah i can understand.
I play on console so its actually much faster to que up as killer. While the matches may sometimes last longer sometimes. it beats waiting for a lobby upwards of 5 mins.
If i wasnt still unlocking teachables for my killers i might play survivor more for the rift xp gain but I get much better BP gains as killer on top of the full cap for a match more times than not. And finding a lobby on console often takes like15 seconds at most.
-
Ive never engaged in post lobby chat back when i used to play on PC. So nothing of mine goes as far as name calling or anything.
As a killer worst thing ive done is facecamp when a survivor used DS. Ive never taken the stun animation from that very well. Still dont for what ever reason but I wont facecamp for it anymore since its my own fault these days since change.
As survivor. I rescued another player of hook in a match vs myers. Had 1 gen left so I stayed by the hook so myers would chase me. I suck at running and looping since i only started playing survivor when tome dropped, so it doesnt take long for him to injure me. Well I'm kinda running looking back at him and hes stalking me. Then tier up music plays. Tier 3, Which only caused me to panic more. Well when i finally do turn camera to see where I was going, same time last gen gets done (Sweet!) I turn a corner and theres the survivor i rescued. With a survivor healing him.. I lead him right to them by mistake. They both get down fairly quickly and me being new and terrified because he slugged and didnt hook. I found the nearest gate and left them 😭 didnt even think on it. Im a coward lol

I feel like killer is easier. Survivor mission have too many unpredictable teammates
Apologies. I was asking Dekillerkiller about farming xp for fragments. Lol not sure why you replied about the tome missions to that.
That being said. I do think killer ones are easier but thats only because I've played killer since this game has been out.
Survivor I started playing only when the archives were added. So im having to learn that and do these missions as a solo player with no friends.

Level 26, just found out it's much more easier to farm XP as a Survivor than a killer so I'm snowballing at least 1 or 2 tiers a day. All challenges are also done.
How is it easier as a survivor vs killer?

I wouldn't say asking for a reason behind their behaviour is salt. They say it's salt just to get salt out of you.
Even by asking them why they do this, or that, or the other. They feel like theyve gotten a rise out of you. It could have been an honest question. But if they are playing obviously to frustrate someone then any message regardless of what its content is, will be taken as salt to the person who was trying to trigger any kind of reaction.
Its the satisfaction in knowing you took time. Even just a few seconds to write something as a result of their behavior.
-
While i dont play to get salt. I truly do love salt messages. its a game and while you could be forgetting your frustration by doing anything else you went and vented to the last possible person who is going to make said frustration any better.
And calling someone out for dirty tactics or even toxicity by messaging them is again a waste of time for said same reasons. They know what they were doing. You only made them feel better about it by sending them salt.

I enjoy playing the clown and i cant say that hes really as bad as some people say he is. I think people just people assume hes meant to be played like the plague or a huntress because his power is ranged.
Hes a zone/area denial killer. When chasing in an open area. Either throw his bottle ahead of where the survivor is going or to where you dont want them to go. You gain alot more distance this way.
At loops throw the bottle not on the pallet but to the side the survivor is going to run to once a pallet has been dropped or before. That way they risk getting hit by going through the gas or trying to walke around the gas while staying at the loop and also risking a hit.
My clown matches have been alot better when i realized that throwing the bottles at the survivor was more often than not. A bad play on my part.

I'm currently at Rift tier 23, with all level 1 Tome challenges done. My advice for the ones OP is still working on:
Plunder King: Bring some purple coins. I did this on my first try that way.
This Is Happening: Not too tough, if you can hit great skill checks. I brought No Mither to keep myself injured from the beginning, but I'm not even sure if being injured during the checks is a requirement.
Empathic: Pairing Empathy with We'll Make It gives you a really strong shot at this one.
Thank you for the tips.
Ive pretty much have assumed that the purple coin would make this easier for me to achieve. Ive had no luck with my bloodweb though and have yet to see one on the survivor ive dumped BPs into all the way to lv 37.
I dont think empathic will be as difficult to achieve so im not worried about that one.
This is Happening is probably another one i might struggle a bit with. As a fairly new survivor i have struggled to hit great skillchecks and it often seems that when i do its by mere luck.
-
Someone already suggested this not very long ago. Peanits commented on the thread and basically said that would not be favorable to the survivors.
Specifically solos.
Mentioned somethinf about 1 survivor would basically have to hold gate open while 2 try to rescue off hooks or slugged etc. (No problem for SWF) the same cannot be said for solos.
Also said that at that point if youve allowed the survivors to 99 a gate. Youve basically lost and didn't accomplish your objective.
Im heavily paraphrasing so do not quote me. If i had the energy id seach for the post but i don't. But prettt sure thats the jist of it without more content as to how that conversation went.

Doctor (AGAIN).
He's personally one of my favorite killers, but people often message me on my playstation saying things like 'Wow Doctor dude? You suck!' Or 'Nobody Plays Doctor, Stop it and Die'.
He's super fun but sometimes I wish I'd just stuck to GhostFace, Hag, Huntress and Trapper.... Instead of adding Doc to the mix
I am fearful for him being up under the scope next. I doubt that they could butcher him but i feel they might take away from what hes been since release. To me i see him as a anti stealth killer.
I do love me some salt messages when playing as the doctor. Lol it can feel lackluster sometimes playing him for results but hes still fun.
-
As a fellow ps4 player. I wont play Demo anymore since i got him to lv 30 and unlocked surge. Dont have any desire to unlock his other teachables and I dont want to grind BPs to sink into him just to unlock other killers perks on him.
When i do get an itch to play him (they did do a really good job on the atmosphere he provides I.e. sounds etc) its often short lived. I struggle to hear much of anything with my headsets because his feet stomping around muffle out anything else.
-
Freddy or Plague. We see them both pop up here in thread discussions. (Freddy for his slow down addons and Plague due to Thana+Dying Light)
Or maybe Doctor will become the next thing to complain about depending on where the Devs take it.
Or maybe it'll be the unreleased killer.
Only time will tell. But there diffinetly be another killer who takes the spotlight the same way Spirit has now.
-
Demos perk need looked at. I dont mind surge really but rest are trash. And monstrous shine.
-
I recently started playing survivor so im in that 10 above category. I actually like when going up against a killer with ruin. Because i can practice skillchecks. Or practice my hex totem hunting.
I thought having played killer for years itd be alot easier to find hex totems now that im playing survivor, boy was i wrong. By that i mean that its really not hard to find a bright glowing hex totems in most maps.
-
Useless perks for me. Like no not every perk on both sides need to be meta or strong. But why are there so many that are so niche or situational that they rarely see the light of day?
-
I either do the puma pounce when theyre all ready or ready from the get go because i just want to play a certain killer and dont care or have need to adjust for anything.
-
I believe a decent number are starting to depip since the reset is almost a week away.
Personally ive gone past my usual rank comfort zone (9) and from that point its not just harder for myself to play killer (im not that great) but it also becomes much less enjoyable due to the 6 levels above/under rule.
Means i get to play with low ranked reds. Which often times just feels like they run circles around me when it comes to the difference in skill level. And some times its not just the obvious skill gap, but the bm and toxicity that makes me resort to meme games where i dont necessarily kill anyone or am actively trying to sacrifice anyone. Just want to depip back to a rank where the game is not only fun but adequately challenging.
-
I used to enjoy demi when he was released. But i spend more time frustrated than i do actually enjoying him.
Hes loud. Which i love his roar. But i cant stand hearing his stomps the whole match... And while i should be thrilled to find a survivor. I instead now cant hear anything whatsoever besides his chase music. And his stomping.
His portals take time to set up. Which in some trials at least 2 or 3 gens may or may not haved popped by the time you have them feeding you information. (And sometimes its a gen that was near the unactivated portal..)
I honestly only play him now for dailys lr for his shred.
But i cant say if hes strong or weak, i just have a love/hate relationship with him.
-
They have a rule book they want you to follow.
-
While i do agree this is a grind and the perks are a grind to get. I played League of Legends for more time than im willing to admit. That was a grind. Unlocking legends on play time alone was could be pretty brutal and the matches itself lasted upwards of 30 mins when i first got into that game. I stopped playing over a year or 2 ago. And at the time i had all the legends without having to pay up to unlock any of them.
Just saying. It could be much Much worse.
And while i dont like the rift and wont be forking up any money over myself. (To each his own) This is the first rift for this game has done this and I hope that by the time this one is over, that the dev team has gotten smarter and can make improvements.
-
In my opinion. The demigorgon is somewhat fun, but i cant hear anything while playing as him besides "stomp stomp stomp stomp" . But He has.1 Decent perk being surge. 1 niche perk and another completely useless perk.
As far as farming BP? I think theres better killers for farming BP than Demi.
As far as the rift goes, you have like 60 something days before it even ends, so you can do the rift challenges first and level up your rift level by gameplay time and then purchase it if you like. And get all the rewards all at once for what ever level youve achieved. I only say this because theres a hot debate on the later challenges for tomes being luck based and not really completable.
-
I agree not every match is meant to be fun. My fun when playing the killer is not based on how many kills i get. Most fun i have is in chases. Not actually killing.
I recently started playing survivor and i could careless about escaping. I have the most fun when im able to juke the killer and watching as they pass me by when im literally just crouched a hair lenght away. Or when I tank the hit for a survivor that's on death hook and theyre able to survive a bit longer if not completely get away.
While theres llenty of unfun scenarios out there, I dont enjoy steamrolls or quick games. Thats not what i want when i load this game up and play either side.
-
I like all the indoor maps. Just because theres not many of them.
-
What really grinds my gears when playing this game is ranking and emblem system and lack of punishments for continued DC on both sides.
-
I just was in a match versus a Legion with this skin and my god was he bright. Like he could replace a light house beacon from how much luminescent light radiates off of him. And it also made it quite easy to keep tabs on where he was and wasnt.
-
Its funny everyones expecting the devs to help The Doctor out in one way or another.
Anything claimed unfun must be deleted as per their usual track record as of late.
Because apperently a game thats has 2 opposing sides must always be fun for both sides. Good luck balancing that and keeping both sides happy. Im ready for the QQ threads similar to the nurses.
Curious to see what they throw into the test server when its time, but then im also not.
-
Some Add ons still seem pretty useless. Yes more strategy which is good. But why make more useless addons which as you stated need "tweaks"
Wasnt the whole point of them looking at the Nurse the add on overhaul? So are they going to "tweak" said add ons over the next couple years like the freddy rework and Legion being left in the state he is, or are they goint to tweak 1 add on at a time over the span of every test cycle which would be almost as long.. Lol
-
Yes theres apperently a super rare bug that happens. I made a post weeks ago and submitted a ticket to support so they could investigate.
This is the link to the forum page (if you care to read on the communitys reply)
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/96515/please-explain-this
i had luckily recorded the event and it was also a feng survivor in my trial who.
Was a very unfun match and very much rage inducing lol
-
Did you claim the challenge you did? I couldnt choose my next challenge (i did the killers) till i claimed the reward
It's essentially the same as when you select the challenge. Once claimed the path should continue on the survivor side your attempting to follow.
Edit: by hovering over the completed challenge it should prompt you to claim the reward
-
Lol
i cant wait till tome 4 comes out. The DCs that will transpire from rage across both sides is going to be soo #########.
And now that the challenges are known, i get to read the QQ threads before the tome 4 drops.
-
While i do like the idea of more BPs or Events being reworked. Its laughably the last thing I see them doing.
"What make events enjoyable?! The audacity!"
So keep events as IS, BUT make the special hook(s)or gen(s) only visible to each respective side. So toxic players can still be toxic but also run the risk of wasting their own time because they cant just target a specific hook or gen from the get go.. (I agree killers do struggle harder than survivors when it comes to their special Gen objective but theres toxic killers too)
And a by product of changing events to be this way would be the mind game aspect of it. Survivors focusing on this gen? Is this the BP gen?
Killers always carrying to this area? Is the hook one of these?
See everyone wins. People can enjoy the event. Toxic people can choose to still be Toxic just wont be ideal unless they really rather just waste their own time.
-
The Best thing Survivors can do after youve healed or body blocked or what ever excuse you have for staying is LEAVE. We dont want chump change BP... We would rather be able to start the next game. Than wait the full EGC timer out. Please just leave. It takes long enough to find a lobby as killer sometimes so dont subject us to further meaningless waiting. We sit through an entire match from start to finish.
At least a a survivor a match ends the moment you either get sacrificed, escape via hatch, open closed or spawned hatch with key, escape via exit gates.
A killer has to wait till every survivor does one of the above mentioned. To be able to even consider Que for another game.
And for anyone who wasnt around before EGC was a thing. We veterans do remember. So please even if its just a minute or two saved, dont remind us of the old days of hostage games.. Because thats what you do as a survivor when you wait till last seconds of EGC. Wether good or bad intentions its the same feeling.
-
I'm nervous for The Doctor. Hes not strong and hes supposed to have an addon pass.. But survivors describe him as "unfun" so i wonder how they will butcher the doctor somehow. I'm fearful hes just going to end up in-
The same place but "Fun" now.
Legion tier.
I almost gaurentee that stealth play vs the doctor is going to be hit.
Next up, lets make healing a thing Vs. The Plague because it means healing builds are useless and its unfun.
Lets make chainsaws not insta down because that's unfun too.

@EldritchElise87 said:
I hope it's only a week, and i hope the next tome is harder/longer because im not far off being done already.
Each tomes difficulty is harder than the one before it if i understood correctly. So by tome 3 I expect QQ threads lol
-
I stopped going to the ext gates once they open them. Because your right they will wait. And guess what? If you dont show uo they will still wait till the last second to leave.
Now a days i will roam the map looking for any pallets i didnt break. Spam my killer power (trappers traps/Plagues Vomit/Hags/Freddy) to get as much points as i can while the EGC is happening and know that survivors are just waiting for me to come see them off.
-
I have stopped getting stressed over games as killer. My younger brother said something along the lines of
"if you cant beat them join em"
So when need be i will be a douche, i will camp and tunnel or use mori agaisnt what i consider toxic. And ill enjoy it. Because i can still carry a skilled or baby survivor to the hatch if i want to. Or play a meme buildand have fun. Its really just a game at the end of the day, THAT I payed money for so ill enjoy it how i want to depending on my mood.
What can i improve on?
Actually reading survivor perks at the end of a trial since its the only way ill ever understand what survivor perks look like lol
-
Your first question: correct.
Second question:
You can only have one active challenge to complete at any time. And you cannot attempt any challenge that is not active. (If you try and select a challenge from further down the tome, you cant)
Think of it as a bloodweb. You cant start at one end like the entity does.
-
This is the only reason why i was not thrilled for the event. Every event which uses specific hooks for killers to earn their extra BP is the only time where toxic survivors actually sabotage hooks. If your going to specify a hook then dont make it so that survivors can see which hook it is.
The same can be said about gens. Why let killers see which gens survivors specifically must power to get extra BP?
Its been bad before and its still bad. Like why add further fuel to this Us vs Them thing when it can be stopped all together for An EVENT purpose.
-
I only play killer.
Played survivor once and realized i much rather play solo than with a team.
-
This isnt the only factor they said the use as a lever for balancing though...
And this is not actually surprising that its ONE of the things they look at. Alot of games that arent just Shooters or the like like to balance specific champions, heroes, legends (etc etc etc) for a 50 to 55%
its the middle..
You Should have a 50 percent chance to win or lose. But its not just that. Theres perks you can run which dictate. Theres the skill level of said real life players your up against ingame. Etc.
My curiousity is honestly how they use their SWF data as a balance lever. Im ok with it these days. But how is that factored into the goal they are trying to achieve when creating killers. Or choosing to nerf/buff them.
-
Pretty sure a good number of people on every platform are veterans from other yet another platform. So just because its "new" to switch. Doesnt mean the toxicity wont transfer over lol
-
Claudettes are a whole another spectrum altogether.
Any survivor being both toxic or non toxic can go about their business in the trial.
A claudette does the exact same thing (toxic or non toxic) and its game over.
I have and will continue to drop chases, let survivors escape via gates or hatch if i know that the other survivor alive is a Claudette. She just cant survive in my games.
-
Im both excited and nervous for the doctor being looked at. I do understand he is not the best killer out there and has some issues but not every killer needs to be on par for red ranks game play. The 'annoyance' (as some people seem to call it) factor is probably the most likeable thing about the doctor to me specifically. He makes stealthyness a pain but is not the same as plague who pretty much shits on healing perks/items/playstyles all together. Im just anxious his identity might be altered or ruined altogether
-
I cant vote :(
I just got spirit and havent yet progressed far enough in her bloodweb to see prayer beads..
I also dont play survivor so its not like i have any input on that perspective either.
Feeling left out. Sad panda.😢
