  • I personally think it’ll be OP. Here’s my opinionated reasoning:

    a. Most survivors will aim for the hex/great check for obvious reasons. Gen regression will help balance the perk still, but in a game where “gen rushing” is a well documented grievance, it would be hated as this will enhance it.

    b. Almost every survivor would run this perk, probably with ‘This Is Not Happening’ to support it.

    c. The 100% chance is too much. Yes, the survivor is punished for failure with the regression, but the killer gets no notification bonus at all. A new amateur player to DBD will still hit more greats than he/she misses with this set.

So, IMO, I don’t believe a buff is even necessary at all.

  • I can’t speak for PC, but console (at least PS4) goes:

7a-7p = More killers than survivors, fast survivor queues with slow killer queues.

7p-7a = WAY more survivors than killers, probably 30 to 1, a survivor queue takes 15-25 mins between matches, killer queues take about 1.5 seconds.

  • While not condoned; we must realize such underhanded tactics will always exist in every competitive game, so ty to all that are making the effort to place fun above toxicity.

    Map offerings.

As I already said, only 3 map offerings were brought of the 22. Meaning 19 of the matches were chosen “at random”. Try to keep up will you.

  • I have no love nor hate for any of the map variations, just sick of playing it. I am getting different versions, but still. That many times without offerings just weird.

  • I hate it, it’s a global map version of the basement one that’s so ridiculously useless that I don’t remember its name.

You’re suggesting a perk that kills faster when hooked with no real downside...AND keep the hook after sacrifice?? I’m a killer main, this would be an unfair advantage for the killer and (in my opinion) would increase the camping(proxy mostly) of many lower ranked killers.

  • @LordGlint said:

@IMhereRUN BBQ wouldn't help detect anyone that close, and whispers would be on because it detects the survivor you're hooking.

ok, you’re totally right on the whispers, but BBQ still helps. Unless they’re in a locker (regardless what people think, you CAN see auras behind gens), you now know who is within 40 meters from you, and with the requested perk being 32m, it’s just too much.

Example 1: (Fair) - Killer hooks survivor #1, BBQ reveals no one...killer can assume (not always correct as survivors could be in lockers or using ‘Distortion’) that there are 3 survivors within 39m, some possibly exposed.

Example 2: (Unfair) - Killer hooks survivor #1 on a hook that happens to be within 32m of a gen that all other 3 survivors are on. The killer begins patrolling gens as he should, and all 3 of these guys are exposed...how many freebies does a killer need? Regardless of the pallets, windows and placement of strong tiles, 1 of them is going down. Why? Did the killer earn it? Nope. It was simply because the survivor was playing the objective like he should be.

I hunted dull totems and half the team escaped. One didn't escape because he suicided and the other was too dumb to run toward the exit after having stunned the killer with a pallet.

    So what's your excuse?

You don’t have to hunts totems, there’s are only 5. If you happen to see one in route from gen to gen, cleanse it. When all gens pop, most times NOED will not be an issue.

If you insist on hunting then, use a map or ‘Small Game’...no looking required.

  • Omfg, are there any intelligent unbiased people on these forums??

Firstly, YES...NOED is a crutch perk, but so is Adrenaline, DS, Deadhard...there are crutched in both sides. I don’t see anyone crying about getting rid of survivor crutches, and the killer’s CAN’T disable yours like you can.

Secondly, cleanse your totems!! Survivors crying about not having a secondary objective so have “no choice” but to gen rush, there’s you’re secondary objective, cleanse, cleanse, cleanse.

Lastly, there are SEVERAL post here about NOED haters weekly...this is the 2nd one today! Can’t we please quit flooding new threads about topics that we’re already discussing? Comment on one of the many already existing ones, for real.

The Shadowwatcher one actually seems pretty fair to me, considering it doesn't SHOW there's a survivor around or SHOW if anyone was marked. This would only really affect ppl who are waiting to rush an unhook, and then get caught out anyway. In a way, it's similar to the many perks that would only really work 1 time, like Iron maiden. After the first time, survivors would catch on to sit further away from the hook.

    @TheGorgon said:

    I love Shadow Watcher.

We need more perks to pressure people into saving and abandoning the main objective, which is obviously generators.

Anti Climax - Every time you're 25 meters or more from the hook, the hooked survivor screams. Every scream issued by the hooked survivor let's out a scream to the rest of the survivors, and reveals each other survivor currently not on the hook to give a 3 second blinking revealing their aura. If the hooked survivor isn't saved in 60 seconds, if you're 35 meters or more from the hook, your terror radius will be set to 0 and every survivor will scream every 10 seconds until the survivor is either unhooked or someone gets into a chase, which cancels the ability. If the killer after 60 seconds is found in 12 or less meters from the hook, they'll be punished with the blink effect for a duration of 3 seconds every 30 seconds.

What does this do? It punishes selfish survivor play, and forces them to work somewhat like a team, but it also privileges those killers who aren't camping to get people off generators, but punishes them for a waste of a perk slot.

It punishes the killers who camp who would be wasting a perk slot, and also with the blind effect.

Ok, so running this with BBQ and/or whispers (I have to assume many killers will do this) would be WAY too OP, still a no from me.

For ‘HeyItsNick123andnea’, this will result in the opposite effect you described. This won’t push survivors off gens to hurry an unhook...because more than likely, they’re exposed.

  • Why bother to use them? They still give you 103% BP!!

Just because no one else brought one, that’s double BP you wouldn’t have received without it. Sure it’s nice to stack them, but 103% is more than 0%.

  • I think it’s fine the way it is, promotes anti-tunneling.

Please tell me you’re not one of the idiots I’m always facing that sprint for an unhook during a chase. If so, lead the chase AWAY from your hooked team mate as a distraction so another can make the save.

  • Here’s my theory, feel free to let me know if I’m wrong.

    1. Relentless - You are not too successful mindgaming loops, so continuously chase one survivor from loop to loop, and no longer want to lose bloodlust to make your life easier.
    2. Shadow Watcher - When you finally caught this guy, teammates were body blocking your way to the hook, so they should be punished with insta-down.
    3. Ferocious Manner - You want to quickly re-down the hooked survivor (tunneling) or quickly hit the rescuer, before you are thrown into loops again. My first thought was this was to counter borrowed time, but that would only apply to your TR while being unhooked, not after, so I went with this one.

Relentless - nope. Very strong, has no counter.

Shadow Watcher - Hell no. You can get all survivors exposed at once by literally doing nothing, run Haunted Ground instead. We don’t need a re-trigger able NOED during the run.

Ferocious Manner - no, but not a firm no. It’s strong, but not OP, but to me it just promotes tunneling.

I’m a killer main, And although we may never get there, I have to promote suggested balance. The only way I could approve these perks, is with a new survivor that has perks to counter.

  • So many opinions, and most of them are biased I see. Balance, we need balance! Is MoM ok right now? I think so.

But your ideas of flashlight/pallet saves certainly seem fair to me. No decent killer will complain, if teammates are running after the killer trying to get MoM stacks, they’re not on a gen.

One person argued it wouldn’t be fair because very they’re “not taking damage”. Is it fair that they have to take damage 3x to earn 1 (Count them...ONE) free hit? Nah

    I personally would not like to serve sabatoge saves added though, they are too easy and more than likely will take a hit also...2 stacks in 1 second would be too OP;

but I would like to see pallet and flashlight saves added.

  • They died, don’t you know how survivors think? If they died, killer cheated somehow lol.

A mediocre Nurse could’ve 4K’d that game, not 1 gen done. ######### were you all doin? Lol

  • No thanks, as a console user and former PC user...I don’t want to be playing survivor on console vs. PC Nurse’s all day...hell no. Good nurses are very limited in my experience on console because she is much more difficult to use. Cross platform if this ONE SCENARIO alone is enough for me to say no way.

  • Most SWF play super altruistic, if you’re in a chase or got a hook...chances are 2 of them are not on gens, they’re preparing a bodyblock rescue in the event that you’re camping/tunneling. That means typically 1 survivor (sometimes none) is working gens...I’ll take that anyday as a killer, keep SWF the way it is.

  • How can anyone wish to re-work Clown with a buff? If any re-work is done to him it’d have to be a nerf. He’s the best loop counter killer (excluding Nurse, obviously). Loops are the #1 defense for survivors, not to get away, but to prolong the chase...the clown renders almost everybody loop obsolete.

You may as well as for X-Men’s Cyclops to be a killer, because any buff to Clown would almost be an insta-down from looking at a survivor (hence, Cyclops).

And contrary to popular belief, he moved the same speed while holding bottles as he does holding his knife.

  • @Pike_Trickfoot said:

I reread this like 20 times and I still don't get what's being said.

He doesn’t like that if he is slugged and NOT picked up, he can not activate the perk. Rather than requesting this idiotic change, sounds like you should be running No Mither or unbreakable rather than DS

  • Decisive strike activation should be when the killer downs you after the timer starts. Not when he picks you up.

Can we manage to not get 5 threads on the same exact thing every week?? Go comment on many of the already existing ones.

The secret is im on ps4 too. He messaged me personally

Don’t sweat it, survivor mains claim any perk that makes you a more efficient killer is a crutch, because you have less work to do, I.E., Nurse’s, BBQ, DH, NOED, MYC etc.

Funny part is, these survivor mains can’t come to the realization that if those are “crutch perks” for the killer, then there are also “crutch perks” for survivors. I.E., MoM(good now after nerf), DS(more than fairly balanced now), Deadhard, Adrenaline, etc.

The survivors that cry about killer dreams using “crutch perks” area often running multiple themselves, just let them be the hypocrite, ignore them and move on.

  • Easy; been covered as you mentioned many times in last 2 weeks alone, commenting on those posts would seem more sensible to me than starting to his next new thread, but w/e.

Killer’s that complain 60 second set is too long: go afterward someone else, no one else located? Slug! Now go find someone else, maybe that person will get picked up, but the person healing them up is NOT on a gen. A slugged Survivor generates equal map pressure as a hooked survivor.

Survivor’s whining 60 seconds is not enough(LOL!): If you’re choosing to use DS, then you already know your weaknesses as aplayer and you’re just trying to delay the hook one time, smart. 60 is Loooong, work on your loops so it’s harder to get caught, pay attention to the killer in the chase, try to call his mind games. The 1st hook is hardest, because you’re “feeling out” killer’s chase tactics. Learn from it and use that knowledge in the next chase. Don’t run the same way you did the first time, obviously the killer killet that one.

  • Sounds perfectly fine to me; plus...in my opinion if you didn’t get the gens repaired, you already failed your objective; match is already over, you lost. You should have wiggled and fought the chase for points, in an attempt to find the hatch, if he does it again, oh well, more points. Killer not out of line here.

  • He just means to say his looping needs work, and he don’t like the fact that eventually he’ll be caught. Just want to loop there forever! Big no vote from me

  • Using GF’s Furtive Chase ability, losing all tokens when’s the obsession is killed, if you are hit by DS from another survivor (which should make them the new obsession), you will now be able to once again stack tokens yes?

  • @AChaoticKiller said:

I haven't played the event yet because I'm staying at a relatives house. If people are useing OoO often than I'm just gunna use Insta saw billy with bbq or plague since that perk sucks against them.

Just use the jump scare Myers build with a map offering; renders OoO completely irrelevant

  • Offerings, add-ons, and perks are meant to be used...what you expect. Whether the survivor or killer, you can’t blame a player for ANYTHING they attempt to do to win.

6 insta-heals? Ah well, maybe more will escape, or maybe you just get more hits.

NOED? Who cares, cleanse totems, 90% of killers will run Ruin to slow the game down “just a little bit”...cleanse totems, now the killer’s handicapped to just 2 perks.

Adapt and overcome. If ya can’t, just keep practicing. We don’t need a sub forum for grievances against people who are trying their best.

Every game plan, whether SWF or killer has a weakness; find it and exploit it. Don’t worry, you won’t win them all.

  • lol, don’t have time to play with an 11 year-old. How do you know what they mean? How about you don’t answer things you don’t know the answer too...try that out for a change.

  • Well they specifically said “added a heartbeat into the controller”. A heartbeat, by definition is the SOUND a heart makes, nothing was said about vibrations so I’m trying to clarify. No, I’m not a rocket scientist, but I do understand English dumb dumb

  • Forgive me if I seem it, but I really am not trying to be rude. But if your friend is deaf, how will he hear the heartbeat from the controller if he can’t hear from the monitor/television?

Edit: Did you mean to have it vibrate?

  • It exists sure, but not much longer as dedicated servers are coming. So this issue no longer needs addressed.

  • The clown (almost) completely negates most loops...the survivor’s #1 defense. If that got any type of buff, he’d be unstoppable.

  • Your recommended changes to his power, maybe not what you intended, but that doesn’t make it less true. Your proposed changes would make him unstoppable.

  • What? Get rid of pallet loops? Now it’s not survival horror, now it’s hide and seek.

    Killer: “I found you!”

Survivor: “Ok, ya got me. Free hook!”

There are typically maybe 4-5 really safe pallet loops a game, pursue that loop, eat the pallet so others can’t take you there. A killer claiming to get rid of pallet loops in red ranks seems to me like a killer that had no business being a red rank.

  • DS is STILL very strong, this topic has been covered plenty...why not look for the content you’re posting about that already exists before making a new thread? Yes, it’s great against tunneling killers, but it’s also great against killers not tunneling. A killer can down and hook 2 other people...come back after you, and your DS timer has not expired yet. There will always be suggestions from both sides, but in my opinion the Devs have this one well balanced. Any tweaks in either direction would heavily favor one side more than the other.

  • Play KYF, rotate all you want. Now everybody’s happy!

  • Some people are just never satisfied unless the killer is literally unstoppable...and that’s what your suggestion would make him. He’d be at Nurse’s level, looping would be non-existent, might as well ask for a killer that moves 3x the speed, of a power that freezes survivors in place...surely you can make a recommendation better than that.

  • I’d put them in this order:

Nurse, Spirit, Billy, Huntress, Myers, Hag, Legion, Doctor, Clown, Pig, Trapper, Plague, Cannibal, Freddy, Wraith

    Just IMO

  • This changes nothing. Whether ranked or unranked matchmaking would remain the same...so why bother?

  • OMG, you sound like the idiots I get paired up with...get your cowardly butt on that gen, if she finds you dodge the hatchets while taking the chase AWAY from the gens, she only has 3 shots. Sure she might get you, but PTFO you and the other guy both.

  • Ok, true that. It’s not a victory for them, it’s an admission of defeat, but still there’s no way I should’ve been able to close that on her.

  • @NuclearBurrito said:

I don't see the problem here. What needs fixing exactly?

Survivor won the hatch, but couldn’t capitalize because of latency. A bit unfair for that poor survivor...how you missing this??

  • I agree, some discount would be beneficial (I’d like to think) to drawing new players to the community...perhaps even throw another freebie into the game much like the Huntress, whom was originally a DLC purchasable. Once hooked, these players will still bring in revenue by purchasing skins and other in-game character content.

  • @megdonalds said:

Make them pay for just doing their objectives? Doesn't make sense at all. That's why NOED shouldn't even exist, it's still just a crutch for lazy and bad killers and I never use it.

Survivor main eh? If you believe NOED shouldn’t exist for a killer, that also means you think Deadhard and MoM should also not exist right? Didn’t think so, your logic is biased.

  • It does have slight bugs I think. I can be in the middle of no where with no other survivors and take a protection hit...even get the +100 pop-up on screen, but don’t get a stack.

  • @TAG said:

If I'm being honest, I'd rather have Amanda's ambush attack be buffed rather than have her gain the ability to grab someone without having to uncrouch.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/526458#Comment_526458

No way. I may not be fond of Ruin, but I would never think the traps are better at slowing down Survivors than Ruin. With the traps, I need to hope that I can end a chase quickly just to have one person temporarily slowed from doing gens whereas Ruin slows everyone down from the very start. You say that Ruin can get cleansed in 15 seconds, but I can say the same thing about getting a Trap off.

As I've always said before, I believe her Ambush is weak, her Traps are too inconsistent, and she's probably one of the weaker characters in the game IMO. That being said, I'd want to see the weak part of her crouch ability (the Ambush attack) be made better, not just ignored more in favor of grabbing.

Ruin is still great, I been playing 5 months and I’ll hit 9 out of 10 hex checks, I’m just saying the traps serve as a built-in, watered down Ruin. They’re not designed to kill, but I’ve gotten many kills with them BECAUSE people stillborn do gens...what else they supposedly to do?

  • @Volfawott said:

    @IMhereRUN

I do not agree to traps being so much better mainly because as I've stated before and as you stated just now it doesn't stop the generators from being completed.

Hell if a survivor is ballsy enough which I've done and seen done as the killer multiple times you can complete a generator with a reverse bear trap and then just deal that whilst is active.

Also the survivor get no indication as to where the ruin totem is the game outright tells you where the jigsaw boxes are and unless you're using ruleset number to there is no way you can hide that information from the survivor as blindness doesn't affect the boxes. Not to mention the RNG Factor and the fact you're limited to 4 or 5 at the most

In fact both Doctor's Madness and Legion's deep wounds are a lot more consistent time wasters than Amanda's reverse bear traps

Totally agree there, but my opinion still stands. IMO, The Pig is a towards the top of the mid-tier killers, adding this buff just seems excessive. There’d have to be a counterpart...like if you allow crouch grabs, get rid of the ambush attack.

  • Sounds like you’re watching the wrong streamers lol. Using that same mentality, do these crappy streamers suggest a killer DC against certain survivor perks or add-ons like insta-heals?? Totally wrong streamers, watch someone that doesn’t mind facing challenges...this is survival horror; no room in the survivor game for cowards.
