Yeah if they want to farm then I will farm with them but most times its 4 cakes and genrush city 😂

If it's gen rush city, then I take them to Underground Shrine of Sorrow. 😈

Yeah you're not wrong there i played plenty of killer during it too it's gen rush city, I don't get that at all either

This game just brings out the tryhardness out of people, I guess.

I did just have a nice Nemesis who instantly farmed after a tryhard Dwight dc'd. It was a nice change of pace. I had him kill me as thanks.

  • I dunno, I don't keep track. I am playing normally unless they're a bunch of potatoes or indicate they want to farm. I'm not actively trying to make survivors unhappy unless they go out of their way to be toxic.

  • If you'd actually play killer during this event, you'd see that lots of survivors are no different.

  • I have only been playing Trapper with Padded Jaws (causes traps to not damage survivors) and a brown bag. By the time I finish setting up a few traps, with Corrupt Intervention active, and get into my first chase, 3 gens are popped. 4 gens are done by the time I get my second or third down. Only one group of survivors indicated they wanted to take it easy and farm blood points, everyone else wanted to be out of the match asap. Only thing that worked is just hauling the rushers into the basement and never letting them out.

  • I was coming in here to be like "really? another killer perk complaint thread..." but am happy that this is an actually reasonable request. Good luck on getting the devs to follow through with it though.

  • I had to wait a year for it to come into the shrine, so y'all baby killers should get it now cause there is no telling how long you'll have to wait for it again.

  • I can maybe see this work only if 3 or more gens are up, but when the killer is down to two gens or less, lots of times, tunneling is the best option and they shouldn't be punished for choosing it. But even then, if the killer is against a team that knows how to loop well, they really don't have much of a choice but to tunnel/camp, especially if they're facing a coordinated swf.

  • Edit- for some reason, I thought I was responding to a different thread, ignore this comment.

  • Yea, the worst thing about solo isn't over powered killers or perks, it's the terrible teammates, especially if they're a swf duo with flashlights. Then I know we are in a losing match since two people won't be doing gens and will be trying to harass the killer.

It's nice when the killer understands the situation and kills them but takes it easy on the non-swf. I love it when they farm me and the killer avoids me and goes after the farmer. I'll t-bag them a little and spam the unhook animation a few times for revenge. Even better if the killer moris them. I love t-bagging them while they get slaughtered.

It's a cool idea, but practically SWF completely ruins it.

Is there anything they don't ruin? 😑

  • He should just get a new killer emote that is just him dancing. It would cause survivors to lose control and start a dance off with him.

  • I'd like something where he forces a survivor to wear a mask that allows him to switch places with them wherever they are on the map. When the switch is done, he looks like the survivor and can attack their teammate.

I know this is asking a lot and isn't going to happen, but it would be nice.

Except that killers aren't allowed to play with broken toys, only survivors.

I play with Trapper with Padded Jaws and Trapper Sack and still get hate. Just a few matches ago, I switched to Bloody Coil and the Purple Bag addon because it was obvious that I was going to face a full SWF with two flashlights and two tool boxes, all PC players. I managed to get one in the shack basement and snowballed from there.

I felt bad, disarmed my traps and let the last survivor rescue everyone and regroup. I'm like, okay, lets try this again, and the Zarina basically starts crouching, which I assume is for mercy, so I just let them do gens. What do I get in the chat? "Zzzzzz, Boring". Apparently, I'm not allowed to use Bloody Coil, but they can use BNP and strong add-ons for their flashlight. They weren't happy when they realized I also had Lightborn.

I just played a few matches as Killer and in each one Survivors did gens way too fast and showed 0 respect for me

I can't keep up with them and they always seem to have the upper hand. Why? Are Gens too fast? Is Survivor side too easy?

Devs, can you please help Killer be more enjoyable and fair? Maybe something that stops Gens being done too fast would be good.

As an Asperger's guy, i tend to take the strong disrespect kinda personally and it makes me sad and feel like a joke. Does anyone else feel this way?

It's just the current meta, pump out gens as fast as possible while your teammate runs the killer to the other side of the map. The game is designed to give the advantage to the survivors. Remember, happy players spend more money and introduce their friends to the game. Just look at all the strong loops and L+T walls that are in the game. Not saying this as a complaint btw, it is what it is and the Killer role is just the harder role.

My advice to you when playing killer is to treat the survivors as they treat you. They love to bring in strong items and do whatever it takes to win, you should do the same. Run BBQ on every killer you can and farm as many bps so you can horde as many good add-ons as you can. Don't go in thinking that you will take it easy, because for the most part, your opponents wont. They will take advantage of your kindness and think they were just better than you. Even when you are better than them, they will denigrate you for using items and tactics, even though they don't care about your fun when they do the same to you.

As for the disrespect, ignore it, every killer player faces it. I've had survivors hope my mother dies from corona, that I commit suicide, and many other evil things, it means nothing. They're just spoiled little prepubescent children who haven't been raised or disciplined by loving parents and are starving for attention. It is why if Behaviour ever introduced comms, I will stop playing.

  • Working as intended. Dev's don't want you playing Nurse, so they just let her bugs fester and worsen to discourage playing her without outright deleting her.

  • Survivor: Self Care so they could start bringing in Botany and not take forever sitting in a corner while I'm bleeding out on a hook.

Killer: Whispers so I don't have to lose a perk slot just so I could have an idea where survivors are.

I literally mean it when I say I have tried everything to get rid of all of the totems as fast as possible and it just doesn't work. They are all too often VERY far apart from each other. I have had several matches today where the totems were each on the opposite side of the map every time I cleansed one. The run time alone was over half the match for me. Cleansing them took that much more time. Also this is all in the assumption that there is a totem around that is going to be bad news for us unless we know there is a hex that needs to be cleansed. The totems also do nothing to progress the objective required to power the exit gates which is why many survivors ignore them. Totem cleansing is just not in the category of interest for many survivors because it feels like a job that doesn't always give that much of a benefit. It really sucks because some hex totems are so strong they essentially give the killers a 2nd power.

Again, when it comes to NoEd and Devour, you only need to do the lit totems. Secondly, you are not the only survivor, your role is a team role and your teammates should be cleansing the totems. If they don't think cleansing a dull totem is worth it, and pay for it later, that is on your teammates. If I cleanse several totems, and make it to endgame, and NoEd pops, I dip out the doors asap if my teammates were terrible. I'll only stay behind to rescue someone who looped the killer well.

Finally, start running Inner Strength if you want to get value from dull totems and suggest it to players you play with. You get a nice, easy, quick heal for every totem you cleanse, by getting into a locker.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2327031#Comment_2327031

Yea about that... you see each match has a killer that can traverse the map pretty fast and they can also see hex totems. I've tried every "safest" ways possible to cleanse the hex totems and it just isn't as good as people say it is. Sounds like a good idea, but plays out very differently in a real match.

Yea, I mainly play Survivor and I don't have much trouble with finding and cleansing totems, without any maps or perks. The only time I have trouble is when it's Midwich, Lerys or The Game, but that's because I hate indoor maps and try to blot them from memory. You're supposed to cleanse the totems when the killer is in a chase with someone, and if your teammates can't last long enough for one cleanse, then y'all are going to lose no matter what.

If you need help, Small Game has a totem counter and it gives you a noise notification to let you know you're near a gen and what direction it is in. Detectives Hunch shows you where the totems are when you finish a gen. The new perk Counter Force lets you cleanse them 20 percent faster and shows you the furthest totem from you after you cleanse one, while granting you additional cleansing speed.

Heck, run Plunderers to horde pink maps. I do this and I have 150 maps in my inventory.

  • @Purgatorian said:

I doubt that. All my trials tonight are over within 5 minutes because Survivors are popping gen after gen so quickly.

If they want quick matches I will start to afk in a corner to de rank myself no matter how many cakes are in play. Tonight's matches have been so boring so far.

8 out of 10 of my matches have been the same. I've switched from trying to be nice to pulling them into the basement and never letting them out if they want a fast game.

  • @KateMain86 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2326960#Comment_2326960

Every time I try to cleanse all of the totems to prevent devour or noed my team always dies before I find the last and cleanse them all, or enough of them are dead with so many generators up it wasn't worth it to begin with. People don't realize how time consuming totem cleansing is. Even with a map and Jill's perk I still can't find and cleanse all the totems before my entire team is either dead or death hook.

For Devour, you only need to find one lit totem, unless they're running Undying, then just look for two. For NoEd, if you're playing Solo, it is actually more time efficient to wait for the last gen to pop, make sure you're not found, and to look for the lit totem.

Yeah but I just prefer premonition since spine chill is countered by looking the opposite direction. Plus I have had some bad memories of spine chill lighting up and me running into the killer. Premonition completely negates these too downsides.

Yea, I do that a lot versing Ghostface and Myers.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

This is one of the reasons why detectives hunch is permanently in my build. I would also suggest premonition but that Is currently bugged.

Spine Chill is better than Premonition.

Trapper +Devour+Bloody Coil can be fantastic if it spawns in the right place. I had it spawn inside the shack not too long ago so I sealed it like a can of sardines. The survivors had no hope.

True, it just was so weird how he just suddenly decides to Mori me after 2 DCs lol

Mori costs 7k blood points, it would be a waste to not use it. It sucks for you, yea, but I can see why the killer did it. It's also possible he had a daily to kill someone by his hand.

I don't know if you know this but not everybody has like 40 hours to throw at a game believe it or not some people have responsibilities some people don't have the luxury of living in Mom's basement for all eternity some people might want to do a couple of games before they head out for the day I don't know maybe I'm just considerate

So playing a match for 10-15 minutes is now 40 hours? How is it fun to have only 5 minute matches? If you're so stressed for time, you shouldn't be playing video games at all.

  • @DropdeadPiggy said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2326611#Comment_2326611

I don't know if you know this or not but the point of the game is to get gen's done as fast as possible and get out because let's be for real nobody wants to spend two and a half hours in a game

I don't know if you know this, but not everyone wants to get gens done as fast as possible and have 4 minute games. Some people like to play casually and have games last from ten to fifteen minutes.

  • @Shaped said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2326611#Comment_2326611

Yeah ik. But new ruin can actually slow the game down better than the old one depending on a killer.

So maybe bring back old Ruin for low mobility killers? Just put a restriction on it that it can't be paired with new Ruin.

I know it's not going to happen, I just wish we could do something to make the game more enjoyable for both sides.

  • @Shaped said:

That's a tough one. I think old ruin worked better for killers with less mobility and new ruin is good for high mobility killers that can apply pressure better.

Yes, I agree, but my point is that the new Ruin gave rise to the constant gen-rush meta, that even uncoordinated solos are doing. Good survivors are going to be able to do gens irregardless of which Ruin is in play, my thread is just more of an observation of when matches have gotten shorter.

Okay gen rushing isn’t a thing lol. Survivors have one objective so what would you suggest they do? Wait in a corner until the killer says “go”? Do you see how absurd that sounds? “Hey everyone, let’s take a few minutes and wait until the killer is ready to begin playing”. Lmao

  • I want new mechanics for events, especially since the Devs said they will be putting more effort into the two. With the introduction of Resident Evil, the Devs could have given survivors temporary items like baseball bats to kill zombies that randomly spawn throughout the map, no matter who the killer is. Though the item shouldn't affect the killer unless the killer gets a counter for it or compensated somehow.

They need to come up with things to break up the monotony of the game and give it some freshness.

  • @madamretto said:

First game since the event starts as Legion (rank 13) and I meet SWF who teabags, flashlight me, with both grenades and flashlights, they split on gens in teams of two and two right from the start. I didn't want to believe that people are this "fun" during this event as people here said, but I guess this is true.

I mean they have the right to do so, it is just sad :(

I've decided not to put up with toxic players anymore. I will play normally with good players and farm with players that are obviously bad at the game, but the second I get a whiff of toxicity, I'm just going to face a corner and admire the bricks. I don't play this game so people can get off on being mean or demeaning towards me. I'll just alt+tab to youtube.

    Under a different team? No.

With a different team supplementing the current one? Yes.

The current team has created an excellent idea, and that's not something to scoff at. Dead by Daylight is an incredible idea with incredible potential. However, I do agree that it seems that the current team is unable to give it what it needs in order to realize that potential.

That is why I would be interested in BHVR outsourcing some of the coding and optimizing to a different team, but maintaining the design process in-house.

I really wish they would do this. This game has so much potential, they just need a new foundation and framework.

Legion is great with farming BP and he’s much easier to utilize than Blight and Doc. You can maybe try him.

Thanks for the suggestion! I need as many bps as I can get so I can horde as many Bloody Coils as I can.

Now that you say that I might try playing Blight with Alchemist Ring to get extra BPs.

If I was good at killer, I'd try blight, or Doctor, since I hear he's good at farming points, but I'm not, and I really only have fun with Trapper. Its so satisfying hearing the snap and scream, knowing I just gave someone a heart attack.

Oh believe me I won’t get them up too high. I’m just excited for the ######### ton of bloodpoints we’re about to get these next two weeks.

Okay, good luck to you. I switched to killer because I got tired of facing sweaty killers who act as if it's the end of the world if survivors put up cake offerings and have come to find, survivors are being just as sweaty.

The bright side is that playing Trappi Boi with padded jaws is netting me 140k a match or more. Unless it is against super swf, then I just cry.

  • Don't get your hopes up.

  • @Elena said:

A double standard but I'd never touch this game again if they introduced animal killing mechanics, I can't bear to see animals being tortured, especially because I have 5 in total myself.

You must hate it when you see teammates bully DemoPuppies. I do too! It's so sad to see them lower their head in defeat.

  • I wish I was here for those times. I started when DemoDoggy was introduced, so I missed out on a lot of things. I'd love for them to release an old school mode so we can try it out, even temporarily.

  • Yea, I'm running Trapper with Padded Jaws and Trapper Sack, no Slowdown Perks, and every other match is sweat fest after sweat fest. Then they get mad at me for camping when gens are all done after my 3rd chase. I had someone call me cringe for running Lightborn, like how dare I not want to be blinded by their three flashlights with good add-ons.

  • Holiday themed are nice, because they're like a breath of fresh air, though I like fancy/formal more. I want more top hats, cloaks, fancy dresses and shiny shoes. I wish we could get a cosmetic set based upon Victorian Ball Gowns and suits.

  • In the last six months of playing, I probably only face 2 face camping bubbi bois. Everyone else that played bubbi played as if they were a tornado with saws flying about, zooming all over the map.

I don't consider camping after gens powered to be the camping that people complain about, if so, maybe a handful did that.

  • I'm considered an old fart to many of you and my kind don't like mixing with you prepubescent hairless apes. I don't need y'all trespassing on my digital lawn, leaving hate mail and wrecking my mail box.

  • They really should have just given everyone enough shards for a full cosmetic set as a sorry for all the issues and delayed the "event" for as long as needed to get the fixes done. It's really sad how bad everything is.

  • Bubba is the best camper, especially if he manages to get a poor soul into the basement.

Trapper with Bloody Coil is great if he gets someone in a shack basement, I'd put him above hag only with this red add-on.

  • @Zenro said:

In my experience, Twins for sure. As soon as you start getting downs with Victor the dcs flow.

You know, I forgot that they exist when I wrote my earlier comment. But yes, there is usually a DC when one of them come out of hibernation.

  • In my experience, Freddy. But these days, most disconnects happen because someone got downed in 5 seconds at the start of the match.

  • He should be able to throw his machete at survivors, pinning them in place for a set amount of time.

He should be able to easily shred through pallets, or at least, every second or third pallets just breaks on impact and doesn't stun him.

Teleportation across the map, like in Friday the 13th game.

His mori should be him removing his mask and kissing the survivor to death.
