I genuinely like it but I can see where people are coming from when it gives Billy a disadvantage.

Yea, I understand that, it's just nice because it just feels like he has a little bit more individuality/uniqueness with it.

  • Toxic teammates are the reason I run Plunderers. If I find a key, I hide it in a corner and if they were toxic, whether towards me or did their best to annoy the killer, I dip.

It would be nice if they were all forced to only play with each other, but I doubt the devs would do it. At the very least, I wish they would introduce a new “base kit” ability that allows one to push their teammate out of the way.

I guess I can try that. I just don't want to be that person since I'm trying on Claudette.

You're playing solo. To make up for it, after escaping, in your next match, sacrifice yourself for who ever was the best looper on the team. Also, nice killers exist more than people on here would let on. If you have an item, offer it to the killer. It's 50/50 on whether or not they let you go, just wait to offer it towards the end and do your best to not annoy the killer.

I had a nice Spirit who carried me to the crown and then to the door. Made getting the crown super easy 🤗

  • Run Plunderers, find a key, hide the key in a corner, wait for hatch while playing sneakily. I'm terrible at this game and I escape about 40 percent of my matches.

It is the same thing in a loop without any new modes...last year I took a break from mid may almost to August (didnt even participate in last years anniversary since i was fed up with meta squads😴).

There are other games to play during short bursts to not burn yourself out especially on gamepass🙂.

I'm honestly going to try and break away from this game completely. It's just disappointment after disappointment. The devs are too scared to change things up and it's obvious that it's the bean counters who dictate what happens to the game.

They need a new mode or to radically change the base game.

On a different note, if I start seeing the new RPD map more often, it will hasten my departure. I literally couldn't do anything on it yesterday and I'm just going to afk every time I see it.

Wow, thanks, I literally just read your comment, turned of crossplay and got a lobby in 30 seconds, thanks!

No General Discussion is correct, especially as we have a specific PTB section for the short times that the PTB is up.

And no @Northener1907 my goal is obviously not to stop people responding but to move posts to the correct subforums - I do suggest using the "recent discussions" feature that we have on this forum, that way you won't miss new threads appearing that might interest you!

Gosh, you most have a lot of patience to do your job and be nice, especially with some of the posters on here. I could never do it.

It might also be being more nervous as a newer player...now that you are more experienced, it is harder to shock you right?

Yea, and it is contributing to my burnout of this game. I'm about to delete it and take a nice long vacation from it because nothing "fresh" and exciting is happening with it. Every chapter just feels like a rehash of the one before it. The last good chapter we had was Silent Hill.

They need to introduce new mechanics and events that switch things up from time to time.

  • @Wiggles_Diggles said:

While it would be a nice thing to have there are a few reasons as of why this should not be the case.

First it is already and extremely strong perk and in my opinion doesn't need a buff. It is one of the two perks I always run when playing solo because of how good it is at healing you.

The other reason is I don't think the devs would be able to program something like that into the game considering the cant even get the game to work properly.

Yea, with their track record, a new bug would spawn that would probably end up locking me in a locker.

  • If you have good team work, they're not impossible to open. Just because the gens are done doesn't mean the match should get easier from there.

  • @Moisette said:

I've actually wanted that to be a thing for a while. I'd like to be able to cleanse every totem I can without worrying about not being able to heal later. A lot of people seem to ignore totems, so I typically try to cleanse as many as I can. I've even been told I did nothing all match because I cleansed 3 or more totems and only did 2 gens and healed 2 people.

    I get this satisfaction from cleansing totems - kind of like popping bubble wrap - so I cleanse every one I can. I do acknowledge it's my own fault for cleansing them all at once instead of cleansing one, healing, then cleansing another for another heal xD;

I'm the same. I giggle to myself when I cleanse a totem- Muahahahahaha no NoEd for you Mr Killer. I don't need to save 5 heals, just two, it's all I ask.

And I get the same complaints as you do. I cleanse totems, do two gens, unhook safely and heal, body block, take hits for someone and do my best to take the heat off of someone thats on death hook. Heck, I would literally stand still, in front of the killer, so they can get to me and leave the other guy alone, and I would still get complaints that I'm doing nothing.

  • @Northener1907 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2340399#Comment_2340399

But buff will make it really good. If i destroyed 5 totems, i have to keep 5 heal stacks. This will make this perk meta i am sure. Because i can imagine people keeping 2 or 3 stacks and then looping killer and doing locker numbers. This will be fun.

Nah, I was thinking to limit it to 2 saved heals just because there are others in the group that use it. If anything, it would promote survivors to cleanse totems more.

Whats bad is as survivor the hum will get stuck in your head and if you're doing consecutive games you always have the hum going and it really throws you off.

Glad to see I'm not the only one.

  • I'm sorry, but the bushes are much more comfortable to be near. They offer me sustenance and protection. The gens are cold and dirty and expose me to the doody head killers.

  • I predict more disappointment.

I appreciate the advice, but the devs dont seem to care about their matchmaking system. Its broken and not fun for a new player to have to deal with high skill, rank 1 players.

20 games today and every one was chock full of players so far above my skill level, I would have earned the same points standing still and spamming.

    Not enjoyable. Im done.

Yea, I've been playing since 2019 and matchmaking has always been like this and will always be like this. I've actually stopped playing killer unless I need rift points or blood points for my Claudette.

I don't blame you one bit for leaving, good luck on what ever game you go to.

From early players I heard Myers provided plenty of jump scares during his release and ghostface...besides that no 🤔🤣 but imagine the possible change in this horror game.

I admit, when I first started, the stealth killers did scare me for the first two weeks, and I still get scared from some really good killers who manage to counter my Spine Chill and pull me off of a gen, but the scariness of all the other killers wore off in about 3 days. I do wish they could make it scarier and give me back some of that feeling I got when I entered a game back when I was a baby, but it'll never happen.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2339372#Comment_2339372

From the devs' perspective, all these issues are tolerable and don't stop people from playing the game, since everyone who experiences them keeps playing the game.

You know what I did when I found the matchmaking an issue because I kept getting survivors who were much stronger than me? I stopped playing killer altogether (instead of playing occasionally). I didn't play killer, reach high ranks, complain about the matchmaker, and then continued playing, because that just means I don't really mind the problem.

I did the exact same thing. I used to play survivor/killer about 70/30 and got tired of getting put up against players who were obviously much better than me and went out of their way to bully me. So, I just stopped playing killer. I'm back at it now, only for the rift and blood point farming due to the cakes, but once I'm out of cakes, I'm not going to touch killer again until they buff Mr Trappi Boi.

  • @NoOneKnowsNova said:

Make him shirtless, survivors will screw up as they'll be staring at him too much.

He'll make me wet my pants in more ways than one.....🙃

  • The best advice I can give you is for you to throw out the survivor rule book for killers. 99.9999999% of them don't consider your feelings when they take any action while they play, you should do the same. If you think you need to tunnel, camp or slug, do so. They're all sanctioned by the Devs and are a part of the normal game play. It is unrealistic for you to 3 hook every survivor for most matches, unless you're playing against potatoes or are playing a highly mobile killer like Spirit, Nurse, or Blight, and even then, against a competent swf, really good killers will still sweat.

Turn off the chat box and ignore their salt, or do like me and relish in it.

  • @latinfla4 said:

Kind of a mini tinkerer effect...make the game scarier for survivors again🤔

Was the game ever really scary for survivors? I wasn't here for the beginning, but from my understanding, it was always the survivors bullying the killer.

  • @Desh said:

Never ran into one that does. And my Doc runs a specific build where you'll hardly ever get a generator done.

What is your build, I'd like to try it. I'm getting tired of having 2.5 gens get done by the time I finish setting my traps and get into my first chase.

  • If you're good with controlling Hillbilly, you'll enjoy Oni since they're similar.

I like Wraith, now that he's been buffed, but he still suffers from being a loopable M1 killer. It's really nice to cloak, run in front of a survivor and uncloak , while denying them a vault. Its also fun to run around the map at high speeds.

He's just not really interesting when it comes to powers.

  • The real question is, what is worse, Hadnofun or RPD? I haven't played on it as killer, but had my first survivor match on it today and all I have to say is that I hope the code for RPD becomes so corrupted that it has to be removed from the rotation and never brought back.

you agreed that it is frustrating and unfun and you hate it when it happens to you or others, but you will not say it is "too much" despite that being the definition all because the devs say it is not?

just because the devs make the game and the rules and say it's fair game...doesn't mean that the community and players cant also decide what things are "too much" to bear. there are a lot of things that have been "too much" in the past that have been changed.

You are correct in both of your statements.

Whether or not it is "too much" is a personal opinion. It isn't fact until the Developers make it so. Just because you consider it too much doesn't mean everyone else does. Just because I don't like it doesn't mean I find it unreasonable or unbearable. If you can manage to get enough of the community to rally against it and get the Devs to change it, more power to you, but until then, it will remain boring, yet fair.

  • Dammit.

Doesn't matter the gender, they're both Dammit since it's the first thing I say when I see them since they're always coming to my gen at a high risk time.

  • I support this thread.

Me agreeing that the tactic isn't fun is not the same as whether or not it is a justified action for a player to take.

    @Huge_Bush

This isnt a courtroom and you aren't a lawyer.

Stop acting like you are camping at 5 gens and getting 4ks. The name of the game is "Kill survivors" not "Throw the game because you wanted to be a jerk".

But we are talking about justice, which has everything to do with law, or in this case, rules set forth by the Developers.

Nowhere have I ever alluded to being a camper at 5 gens and get 4ks. And no, the games name is Dead by Daylight, and the goal of the killer is to kill the survivor. Camping ensures that the killer gets one kill, sometimes, and usually only with a killer like Bubba. If the killer wants to take a chance for one kill a match, that is their prerogative.

  • @Bran said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2335038#Comment_2335038

how can you hate it if the devs say its okay? wouldn't hating it and then being part of it be an intolerable, impossible, or exhausting situation or experience? which is what "too much" is defined as...

There are several things in the game that I hate that the Devs allow. An action that is taken within the parameters set by the devs is never "too much". That is just your opinion, not a fact, nor is it an injustice towards the player it is being perpetuated upon.

I put up with it because other aspects of the game are still enjoyable to me and it doesn't happen anywhere near as often as people on the forums claim it does. If it does start to become intolerable for me, I'll simply stop playing the game. I may make a request that the developers consider changing something, but I am under no delusion that they have to listen to me.

I don't set the rules or run Behavior so I have no say in what is right or wrong with the game. I can just make my own personal choice on what to do and not take it out on other people for choosing to play a play-style that is sanctioned by the games creators.

    HAHAHAHA ok buddy.

Keep camping at 5 gens I am sure you are going up those ranks very quickly.

The topic isn't about whether or not I camp at 5 gens, this is about justice, a concept which you obviously have little knowledge of.

  • @Bran said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2334982#Comment_2334982

i mean i guess i can understand that it can be justified since getting a early kill is a legitimate reason to do it.

    but

in the name of the title, i think we can all agree that face camping at the start is too much when it comes too "when is too much".

I disagree. I can agree that is is unfun and frustrating, I hate it when it happens to me as much as anyone else would, when it happens at 5 gens, but "too much" can only be defined by the Developers.

Until the Devs come out and say camping is wrong at 5 gens, it is fair game. It sucks, but it is fair until they introduce new rules or mechanics to stop it.

  • No, the reasons you list are your opinion. The Devs are the ones who set the laws and as long as the player follows the laws, anything they choose to do is justified.

It doesn't matter if it the most absurd thing you heard, it is a legitimate reason for someone to camp at 5 gens. We are not talking about skilled or unskilled killers, we are talking about justice within a game made by Behaviour who dictates what is and isn't allowed.

The killer is justifed to use camping for whatever reason they want, whenever they want, as long as it falls within the parameters of what the Developers have set.

I hope you never pursue law because you would be terrible at it.

  • @dspaceman20 said:

I ask this because I know keys annoy killers a lot but we did technically do our objectives of doing all the generators. What does it matter that our means of escape are different?

It doesn't matter when you use the key. The Devs put it in the game to be used and you have every right to use it when you want.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2334929#Comment_2334929

    @Huge_Bush

Securing a kill does not make it justifiable. That is literally what I am arguing.

Everybody knows that it is the 'easy' route, which is why it is so frowned upon.

You can say twist it in whatever way you'd like, facts are facts. It is not justified.

Why doesn't securing a kill justify camping?

It is only frowned upon because it isn't fun for the camped survivor, not because it is the easy route.

I am not twisting anything, you are.

    Definition of Justified:

    adjective

    adjective: justified

    1.

having, done for, or marked by a good or legitimate reason.

Securing a kill early in the match is a legitimate reason for the killer to camp. That is a fact. You aren't thinking with facts, you're thinking with emotions.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2334863#Comment_2334863

    @Huge_Bush

They are not securing a kill when there are 5 gens up and they are facecamping.

It's not personal opinion when you know the game well enough to understand how some tactics aren't used as tactics every single time.

It is securing a kill, which is making the game easier for themselves as the match goes on, especially if the survivors keep feeding the killer by hovering around the hook, which they often do.

It is your personal opinion since you don't know what the killer is thinking when they camp at 5 gens.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2334749#Comment_2334749

    @Huge_Bush

I don't think you understand what I am asking. Justified means that they have a legitimate reason to do it. Many times even under circumstances where they (the survivors) didn't do anything that you listed the killer camps. I.E. they do it without it being justified because it doesn't need to be, they are allowed to do it by the game. Regardless of how broken of a tactic it is.

Which is why I asked you (the person saying it is justified) why you think it is.

But they do have a legitimate reason to do it, to secure a kill. Whether or not it is a broken tactic is another discussion and really only falls down to personal opinion.

  • @Johnny_XMan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2334632#Comment_2334632

    @Huge_Bush

Just out of curiosity.... what makes it justified? Usually I've seen bad killers facecamp when no one has done any of those things.

They might have over-committed to a survivor meanwhile 3 gens pop, like, is that justified? Or is it them making a mistake by not splitting the pressure. In which case if it's the latter, justified isn't the word I'd use. More like they just doing it because they can.

It doesn't matter if killers camp just because they can or if its because they over committed or made a mistake that lost them gens faster than they could handle. Camping is justified because it is a tactic that the Devs have repeatedly stated is allowed and non-reportable.

Whether it is a survivor or killer player, as long as they're not hacking or working with the opposing side or breaking any rules that the Devs have set, anything any player does is justified because it is a part of the game. The players don't get to set the rules, the Devs do, and until the Devs come out and say camping, tunneling or slugging are bannable offenses, killers are justified to use them because they are all a part of the game, just as flashlight saving, body blocking, hook saboing and whatever else survivors use in order to give their side an edge.

  • It's justified whenever the killer wants to use it. It would be nice if they waited to use it when they're down to two or less gens, but if survivors can deny a killer a hook by blinding, pallet stunning, body blocking or sabotaging, then the killer has the same right to deny an unhook through the use of face camping. Anyone survivor who says otherwise is a hypocrite.

Basekit whispers wouldnt be enough to balance out swfs 😂

Never said it would be enough, but it would be a good start.

  • I'd be in favor of NoEd as base kit only if they increased the amount of totems to 7 but gave survivors a totem counter as base as well as a smaller ranged Kindred.

But since the forums and social media will get nuked with complaints and rage, I would settle for killers getting Whispers as basekit to help balance out the free information that swf get with the use of comms.

  • If you're spending it specifically in hopes to play this game better, then the answer is no, don't spend it. You're just wasting your money because there is no guearantee that the new SSD will do anything to improve your experience, especially with how bad the programming is for this game. I'd rather you save the money and put it towards a newer console once you can get one.

  • Honestly, I'm set in my ways and haven't needed to use anything past the Stranger Things chapter. Sure, I acquired some of the new perks, but I really don't need or use any of them.

  • They want it to be grindy. This way, they have more people playing their game which in turn, gives new players people to play with. They know people are getting tired/burned out/frustrated with the game and this is just a means to keep people playing. They could have just made it to where you only have to get the crown on 1 survivor and it will be unlocked for all of them, but that isn't going to keep you playing as much.
