  • I would have loved to buy it, as I main Legion, but not only are his animations janky as hell, he doesn't have his own voice and breathing, and he doesnt' have his own chase music.

I think no skin in DbD is ever worth 15$ (that's more than half the base game's price, come on), and this one especially is not worth it.

    ...

Which is a shame, because it does look extremely cool.

  • I have 0 problems with reworking BNP, as I personally never use those. They're gathering dust in my inventory.

I would love to have perks as survivor that could give status effects to killer. I think giving the killer the blinded status effect for any amount of time would be extremely cool. Same with maybe a "deaf" effect that would prevent them from hearing survivors screaming for an amount of time.

With Overcharge and Eruption being used a lot these days, I think we could do with more perks that affect gen-kicking.

It would shake things up being able to affect killers for once. Rather than having another new exhaustion perk that's harder to trigger, or another forgettable perk for infinitesimally small boosts that no one is going to use.

  • While your experience sounded really unpleasant, and those survivors and killer should be punished for griefing you and taking the game hostage, it has nothing to do with letting certain people escape. Or killer duties in general.

Everyone plays killer with their own set of rules. Some players have basically none, and everything is fair game, and some players have these gimmicks they like to do: always going for different survivors, giving hatch, asking for boops, pretending to repair the gen, etc.

I personally think the game is at its funniest when the barrier between killer and survivor disappears, so I will absolutely join in on a SWF meme-ing together. Because it's fun.

But as killer, I personally (and I acknowledge that it's not a guideline for anyone else if they don't want it to be) hold myself responsible for how fun the game is for everyone involved. If I see survivors griefing one of their teammates, you bet I'm intervening to chase off the griefers. This is not the type of behaviour I want in my games. I want people to have fun, and being bodyblocked in a corner is not fun.

I think the game would be really boring really quickly if every killer always went for 4Ks. Some of the joys of this game are fun interactions between survivors and killers.

And I will absolutely keep letting certain people escape. If during the game I take a liking to one or more of the survivors, they're out. If not, then the last one standing is. It makes me happy giving hatch. I think it's one of the most healthy interactions in the game.

  • I play Hag regularly and I would love to see more of her. Unfortunately, she's kind of easy to counter so not many people play her after having reached an mmr where people have already faced Hags before. Those who do tend to camp as well.

I wouldn't mind another set up killer, it's been a long while.

Also, I don't really like going against Trapper because, while I don't really care about setting off Hag's traps (I could be out of teleportation range and it could do nothing), it takes a lot of time to get out of Trapper's traps and if you set one off, you're probably hooked.

When I go against a Trapper, the next 3 games I'm playing I'll be ultra careful about where I walk, even if the killers do not have traps, haha.

  • Impossible Skillcheck build : Doctor + "Calm" Carter's note + Calm Class 2 + Unnerving Presence / Huntress Lullaby / Overcharge / Merciless Storm.

I haven't actually run it yet because I don't have Sadako and I'm still working towards my Huntress teachables, but it's extremely funny to me and I like going against it. It makes doing skillchecks extremely difficult.

Bonus points on an indoor or small map like Midwich or Dead Dawg.

Backpack build : Any killer + Agitation + Iron Grasp + Mad Grit + Startstruck

Downing survivors while having a survivor on your shoulder ! I don't have Startstuck, so I use a watered down version from time to time. It's surprisingly effective against cocky players trying to take protection hits (but that's Mad Grit's joy !).

  • Hopefully one day BHVR manages to separate competitive from casual. The mismatch between the two is one of the most frustrating things in this game in my opinion.

  • I saw it briefly go to 100% killer for one game's duration two evenings ago.

  • This is an excellent idea.

I always lose like 5 minutes looking for my perks when in customs or when I want to change things up in my build.

Not gonna like, he's a real SOB if you are trying to get an objective done. XD

I don't normally feel bad as killer because I'm lenient in how I play. If I'm playing hard and everyone is going down quick, I may let people escape chases or let the last one go. IF someone is getting a glyph, I let them get it. I don't camp or tunnel to give everyone a chance to at least get SOME points. It's just a game, I want the other side to have fun while playing too. After all, if they weren't there, I wouldn't be able to play the game at all.

Same, I'm very lenient as killer. I'll even give them unsafe unhooks. I pause a few feet away from them for long enough to unhook, then I keep on chasing. Is it practical ? No. Does it put me at a disadvantage ? Sometimes.

But is it really f*cking funny ? Absolutely. Killer waiting in line politely ! Comedy is more important than scores haha.

  • According to the number of DCs and unalives on hook I got even before 6.1., I apparently tend to create a lot of unfun matches by simply bringing Legion :(

  • Looping is pretty much all survivors have not to get killed.

If you're not confident in your mindgames or feel like you need a little extra to win chases, you can always consider these killers:

Clown - Intoxicated gas slows down survivors and make their vision all weird, which is often enough to get a hit.

Legion - Frenzy lets you vault, and if survivors are smart and not healing in front of Frenzy, you basically have NOED the whole game.

Doctor - A well-timed shock therapy will prevent the survivor from using a pallet or vaulting, which removes their looping abilities.

Artist - A well-placed crow will block a looping spot entirely.

    Huntress - Hatchets.

Plague - Basically have NOED all game, makes the survivors really loud, and her power is a ranged attack.

Deathslinger - If you can aim, he can hit through windows, and you can easily catch survivors when they leave a loop.

Cenobite - Chains often slow down the survivors enough to get one hit in. If the survivors are only solo q, the box will rarely get solved and you will have free chains for the rest of the game.

  • Issue 4 : not separating competitive from casual.

Most times the problem I see is a very sweaty killer being put in front of survivors just trying to enjoy the game, or a meme-build killer being put in front of a comp swf team. The game does not have a stance on whether it is competitive or casual-friendly, and it can't and shouldn't pretend to be both at the same time.

  • Gonna take a look and see if other languages have the answer...

    Nope, compétence 1.

  • That's why Hex : Third Seal is my guilty pleasure when I play killer. On one hand it gets so much value when not cleansed early, on the other it's especially lethal for solos.

  • What

Ah ! You mean the perk "1", yes, very underrated perk it is, 1. Can't remember which character has it...

  • Bump to see if any people/mod have an explanation. I'm very curious about how that could happen.

Don't forget the basement of Springwood and the bed for a Sleepy Slug

Excellent addition ! I shall remember that one !

  • Where are people finding all of these camping Weskers ? I've gone against a couple dozen Weskers this past week and very few of them were flat out camping at 5 gens, including when his power was a bit broken.

It's... unreliable at best. Definitely doesn't work if you're actually on the gen, you need to be holding crouch for a smaller profile.

Yeah, and I'm guessing you have to take into account the angle from which the killer sees the gen, but if you have no locker nearby it can be a last resort I guess !

  • Oh, I never thought of hiding behind a gen as a counter for chili. That's actually really smart ! I should have thought of it since I sometimes can't see fellow survivors behind Windows of Opportunity.

  • As a slug I'll crawl to the funniest place available.

And then tab out and check youtube.

If I'm being facecamped I usually stay in the game and just chat with my friend, because I don't want to miss any skillcheck accidentally.

Lol yh survivors like that frustrate me. Like it's unecessary and I'm going to tunnel you for it. Or if you are a pro mlg looper i'm just not going to let you bait me. Have fun getting hatch after i kill all the others. They get so salty when they realise they can't bait and loop you.

Lol I've legit had teabagging and clicking players DC when they realise I'm not going to pay attention to them. They'd rather leave the match and wait 5 minutes than actually help their teammates do gens.

  • @lagosta said:

Trapper + Hag = The Trag. By the time you finish setting your convoluted web of traps, the survivors are teabagging at the gates.

That made me laugh harder than it should have. xD

  • @Jivetalkin13 said:

What would that killer look like and what would their new power be?

    Huntress + Nurse

    Like a Veterinarian.

Throw hatchets like normal, but missed shots cause you to teleport to the missed shots location.

That sounds chaotic as hell. I love it.

  • Maybe a mod / dev could give us an insight on what happened ?

  • Okay, that one was disgusting.

I thought the exit gate was blocked if he grabbed and threw/hit you directly against the escape hitbox, but you were clearly hit outside of the gate. You should have been able to make it out, this is extremely unfair. Any other killer hitting you at this place, you would have made it out.

  • They really need to make it so that you can't depip if someone DC'd.

I wouldn't be against a bloodpoint compensation either, or at least a gen being removed from the objectives. After all, customs have different gens needed for different number of players. If someone DC early into the game, the number of gens needed to power the gate could be adjusted.

  • @Gary_Coleman said:

I tunneled. Please don't tell my mom.

Actually, its hard to not tunnel against 4 identical survivors.

I would have to see the gameplay to answer that question.

    Truuue.

I'm not a big fan of tunneling, neither experiencing it as survivor or doing it as killer, but swfs that all use the same cosmetic don't get to complain about being tunneled. I generally play in duos and sometimes we get two identical Neas or Megs as teammates, that will often try and mess with the killer and then complain about one of them getting tunneled ??

If you're wearing the same thing how could they know ?

  • I personally consider that tunneling as well, though in your precise circonstances the unhook was unsafe and that's partly on the unhooker.

But in my opinion if the killer alternates between two survivors to get them both out of the game quick, no matter how others throw themselves in protection hits, it's efficient tunneling, which means not losing time camping or twiddling their thumbs waiting for the guy to be unhooked to tunnel them. You can tunnel and multitask.

  • It's not even like Boil Over is that strong unless on Midwich maybe.

I might have to start using it more if it genuinely has an effect on killers. Thanks for the info !

  • Damn, no more dodging at short distance. I'm gonna miss that.

  • No amount of bloodpoints is going to make me play solo q, when I already don't always have fun playing while being with friends. 200% bonus for 5K after having been tunneled out is still only 15k, and I can easily make double that while having fun in a killer game.

We're entering a period where a lot of players will be more occupied again (all the college students being back at their studies, for instance), so I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those that remain would prefer playing killer over solo q.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the queue times remain skewed towards instant for survivors and some wait for killer.

  • Lore wise, they're a gang, made of 4 different people : Frank, Julie, Susie and Joey.

Game-wise, the difference is mostly cosmetic. The characters each have their own voice and idle lobby animations, but that's about it. They all have the same power, Feral Frenzy. Your gameplay won't change if you choose to play as Frank or Julie.

Legion is kind of a gimmicky killer but I love playing as them, it's very fun chaining hits and altering their chase music with tapes. You should get them !

Their perks are all useful in their own builds as well (Discordance is generally very nice aura reading, and is especially good on Nemesis or to counter Prove Thyself, Iron Maiden is good on killers that interact with lockers, and Mad Grit is good against overly altruistic squads who try to bodyblock hooks).

  • Does anyone know how much it was increased?

Like, it was 40cm on PTB, then 20cm in 6.2.

    Was it increased to 25, 30, 35 ?

  • I don't get complaining about a perk that requires a precise timing of .5 second, which both is delayed and can be screwed over by latency.

Or complaining about a 3rd health state when killers have instadown perks.

  • As they said, Kate for Windows.

Feng as well. Her three base perks are very beginner-friendly, particularly Alert to know where the killer is and evade them, and Technician when you're still struggling with skillchecks.

  • image.png

As a respectful gesture towards the original poster, I did not include my opinion of Spirit in this tier list. :)

Reasoning behind some of them :

Doctor : I like the impossible skillcheck build, I like his add-ons, I especially love his red stain add-on, games against Doctors are always very interesting.

Hag : I love the jumpscares. I also love playing her. I don't see her nearly enough when I play survivor, and it makes me sad.

Legion : They're my main, guys. Of course I love them.

Nurse : I'm not thinking of high tier comp Nurses with a 100 win streak. I'm thinking your average Nurse. Most Nurses I see are fun to try and juke. I like them. They're also often very nice players, in my experience.

Deathslinger : I don't know, guys. I just don't like him. In most maps, if killer knows how to aim, you can't do anything. Also his terror radius gives me depression.

Demo : 35 min game of hardcore gen defending (Overcharge, Call of Brine, Eruption, Pain Res), which kinda fun in a Tower Defense way for the first 20 minutes, until guy dedicated a whole 15 minutes to slugging the two last survivors, picking them up, letting them run a bit, downing them again, to make sure they both bled out at the same time so that there couldn't be a hatch escape or an Unbreakable play. Big snooze. Am I biaised in putting Demo in the worse-than-wanting-to-DC category ? Absolutely.

  • While I do love the concept of an "everyday killer", nothing fancy, just the guy that could be living in the next street over, it feels way too strong to me for the guy to always be silent. The counterplay of "not working in a place that could get you easily grabbed" is inexistent, because that removes a lot of the possible gens, especially in indoor maps or maps with gens inside houses like Haddonfield or Badham.

The reason why it works for Myers and Ghostface is that when they're silent, they lose time stalking in the survivor's pov. So survivors get a chance to counter it if they're paying attention, by revealing them/leaving. This guy could just arrive with his permanent Tinkerer and bonk people. Plus plenty of 110% killers don't have anything to help then with loops, so it wouldn't make sense for him to have vaulting pallets as base kit (for contrast, Legion has to be using their power to vault).

(Though I would love it if my Hag could vault !)

Also, like someone above said, it really sounds like the Legion the trailer was advertising (no terror radius, possible to mistake him for a survivor). Which I love, obviously ! :D

So all in all, I could imagine a killer of this concept with a smaller terror radius (that could be made even smaller with a perk like Monitor and Abuse), but no TR at all, constantly, is a big no no for me.

  • I don't really like the idea of a schizophrenic killer, since it's already a hurtful stereotype.

However, a paranoid killer that is afraid of survivors could be interesting as a concept. It kind of reminds me of Bubba being afraid of trespassers, thinking they're here to come after his family.

What kind of powers though ? I think to make hurting survivors possible despite the fear, it could be some kind of wild thrashing in a fit of panic...

I'd also like the idea of a timid shadow/ghost that would be afraid of living people, and that would interact with them (chase/hit/hook) through possessing a corporeal shell. Could be old-timey armors, golems, skeletons... Something like that. The shells would remain on the spot when not possessed, which could give some psychological pressure (like repairing a gen in front of a locker agaisnt Dredge, or a tv in front of a gen with Sadako)

Maybe the shells could be slightly sabotaged when inactive, to give a slight initial debuff to killer (think Hindered for a couple of seconds) the same way you can lock a locker once against Dredge.

I don't have any more ideas but something with these themes I guess !

  • Yeah, people don't like Legion. You'll see a lot of DCs or unalives on hook from survivors when playing as them.

(Jokes' on DCers, I like being friendly with the remaining survivors, since they were robbed of a good game.)

Ahhhh... never seen one of those.

I did see my first insta gen complete last week though.

I've never seen one either, my only blatant cheater was of the "instablind never-runs-out and goes-through-wall flashlight" variety With some instaheal for spice ! They DC'd when they saw all survivors trying to sandbag them in retribution. Surprisingly when they weren't the one doing the bullying game was not funny anymore, go figure !

  • Hackers are not affected by the endgame collapse. They'll just no-clip all over the map for 2 hours until the game itself shuts down the trial automatically.

  • Yeah, games like that are terrible. That's why when I'm second to last survivor, if the game is beyond saving and my teammate is just hiding, I'll walk up to the killer for a quick death. Better make hatch spawn than everyone losing time.

I've had people try and do that same thing when I was playing Legion (because imagine playing against Legion ! /s), but they forgot I could see them with killer instinct. I let the survivor who was still trying to do gens alive, just to use them as a tracker to get the stealthy peeps.

Props to you for playing Hag though. She's my second favourite killer to play, and I don't see enough of her as survivor.

  • @Bartlaus said:

Let me guess, he's playing hide-and-seek there with Hag and Victor?

I mean, that would explain why we don't see them either !

  • Would be too much in my opinion. That would essentially be a free first down, unless survivors locker-hopped for 20 seconds, which is not an enjoyable thing to face according to most killers... But that I would do without hesitation if all gens were locked for any duration of time.

  • I too think that 0.5 second, including a delay since you don't get Endurance from the start of the animation apparently, and that can be screwed over by latency, is too much to predict.

I don't necessarily think 1 second would help (though it can't hurt) because the problem is often taking a hit before the animation goes through and gives you endurance.

I'd love if the Endurance was given instantly, to be able to react to the hits instead of having to predict. Hit registration is made on the killer's side no matter the ping, precisely because otherwise it would be too much to have to predict where the survivor goes. You'd have to see the future to guess. Yet with current DH, survivor has to guess, with a 0.5 second precision, when a possibly laggy killer will hit ? Now who's gotta see the future ?

  • Legends says Bubba found the ultimate camping ground, and has not come out since.

  • Killers already got a lot of mini-basekit during 6.1. As much as Corrupt helps in early game, it would be too much for the balance in my opinion.

I wouldn't mind a mini Lethal though, just seeing the auras for 3 seconds or something. That way survivors could start their objective, but at their own risk.
