  • The purchasable ones shouldn't be removed from the store in the first place. Earnable ones should be MUCH cheaper than a standard cosmetic if they're going to charge for them.

  • "vote with your wallet" okay and we do, but can people who say this acknowledge that we were asked in a survey about time-limited cosmetics and a resounding majority of people voted AGAINST it? And they did it anyway?

They don't care if we don't buy it. Our "votes" mean jack shiz.

  • My biggest issue is them removing old seasonal cosmetics for no reason. This isn't Fortnite. You don't have millions upon millions of players to keep happy with new rotations of skins. There's 100% no reason to remove old cosmetics other than to milk us like cash cows.

Not only that, but even though they promised to release all new skins for unlicensed characters to be available for purchase with Iri Shards, what they're doing is releasing them as limited time, holiday cosmetics and those don't count. We will be forced to buy those with Auric cells unless we want to wait for next year's round of BS.

I'm not buying anything with Auric Cells anymore because of this policy change. There's no advantage to participating in this predatory behavior from a game that isn't even Free To Play. Nobody asked for this and I hope nobody supports it.

  • I guess some servers were unplayable so the event was extended. I'm glad for it because I wasn't done with the deep rift yet.

As for Bubba, good riddance. Rest in piss.

  • Who cares? Finish the game to the best of your ability and move on. It's not your teammates problem if you fail to survive.

Why get hit within the first 60 seconds of the match with lethal pursuer? Or if they're being aggressively tunneled out or facecamped? Why should a killer have to deal with garbage survivors being absolute douches just so they can have content for their <100 viewer social media?

  • I'm not good at Nurse but I feel that any change to a killer that makes a good portion of perks useless is a poor choice. A killer's power shouldn't render perks unusable.

  • @Seraphor

The player would summon immediately if the flag was grabbed. If someone tried to run the guard, he still remained facecamping so other teammates couldn't make a save, either.

I don't know what to say. I was a solo, but my teammates did everything they could, and they could not perform a hook save. I guess if the third teammate had abandoned the gen, maybe, but whole spectating, it was just one facecamp after another where the less teammates you have, the more impossible an unhook is.

  • Instructions unclear. Pig and Hillbilly will be nerfed next chapter.

  • They don't really care to separate the different kinds of disconnections. You'll just get told to get better internet.

  • @Akumakaji said:

There was also the issue during the event with survivors arms spazing out when they operated the exit gate switches. Maybe thats a remnant of that bug.

LMAO yeah, the few times I made it to a door, arms were clipping through the opening switch.

It's still far from my favorite Plague cosmetic, but this version looks nicer than the original. The patterning on the robes is quite nice and the censer isn't nearly as boring (though jury's still out on the Batman mask, imo.)

If you wear another head with this dress, you can see more of her face :) and it's not as rotted

  • I do like that cosmetic but I was a little salty that it was a prime benefit. I ended up giving it to someone on Reddit who hadn't had the chance to participate in that rift, so it didn't completely go to waste.

    This red variation though???? STUNNING

Dude, again all that is solely your opinion. Watch tournaments - show me one tournament where the winner never slugged or tunnelled. I would honestly love to see that evidence but from all my looking I can't find one instance, which rather disproves your absolute assertion that if you tunnel or slug "then it 100% means you're bad".

But if you've got the evidence I would honestly love to see it, please share!

Opinion =\= experience. If a former survivor main like me can achieve a 4k without tunneling or slugging, anyone can. Period. Plenty of other streamers who publicize their videos achieve wins without those tactics, and it's not my job to comb the internet for every single instance for you.

Campers, tunnelers, and sluggers are bad and need to learn how to use their killer powers effectively. Point blank. Get good.

  • @Bardon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3225473#Comment_3225473

So you're saying "It's accurate because that's how I play." Well that explains a lot.

No, I'm saying it's accurate because tunneling and slugging are not required to be successful as a killer in the game. If you absolutely HAVE to slug and tunnel out to secure a kill, then it 100% means you're bad. You didn't patrol and control gens, you didn't have a good grip of the map, and you don't have the attention span or skill to focus on more than one survivor at a time. At no point, with any killer, on any map, are those "strats" REQUIRED for a win.

  • @Bardon said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3218617#Comment_3218617

Agreed - in particular the mechanics of some killer's powers mean that slugging in particular is the only viable option. Take Twins for example - they literally cannot pick up without slugging unless they never use their power, in which case an already weak killer is just useless. Oni & Sadako also have compelling reasons to slug to retain/spread their power. Tunnelling has become a requirement for low-mobility killers with the advent of CoH, which completely killed the Hit & Run playstyle in particular for the territorial killers like Trapper and Hag.

There are many more examples but just to help clarify that the statement by @HeyItsQuiet that "Facecamping, slugging, or tunneling someone out is a conscious decision made by killers who lack the skill to control a match or focus on more than one person at a time." is just not accurate.

It's incredibly accurate, considering I can consistently achieve 3-4k without slugging or tunneling, and that's saying something because I often feel like I'm terrible as killer. I don't need to ruin the gameplay of 4 other people just to win a non-ranked, noncompetitive match. There are a plethora of killer perks and playstyles that allow them to be successful without targeting one person at a time, or putting everyone on the ground. Not to mention, you earn way fewer points by slugging everyone and not engaging in chase, and you lose gens FAST if deciding to tunnel out one by one.

I also personally don't think downing someone with Victor then picking up as Charlotte constitutes slugging; not if they're immediately heading for the downed survivor after the character switch. Running around as yeetus fetus and leaving everyone on the ground one by one without picking up, however, would be.

...and that would just buff killers by making camping even stronger, as accidentally hitting the hooked survivor is something that often allows for saves.

And of course, unlike flashlight clicking, hitting people on hook isn't harmfult o photosensitive players.

But it's griefing. And you said people shouldn't have to deal with griefing :)

  • Repairing gens is an objective. Facecamping, slugging, or tunneling someone out is a conscious decision made by killers who lack the skill to control a match or focus on more than one person at a time. I'm not referring to aggressive survivors who put themselves in your way.

Survivors have no other way of escape, whereas killers can make a choice to play differently.

  • Then killers shouldn't be allowed to hit on hook over and over. That's griefing.

Facts dont care about feelings and fact is that tailoring a game around a minority with a certain condition that may or may not trigger by macro clicks is just wrong,, what makes it even more wrong is the fact that this is done only because macro clicks are considered toxic for some reason but somehow a minor part's of player base health is supposed to be the reason

Macro clicking absolutely is toxic, and this is coming from a survivor enjoyer. I would even venture into the territory of almost considering it a cheat. Health conditions or not, the rest of the community shouldn't have to suffer for it.

I believe the term most Survivors are telling Killers about the Unbreakable Basekit is oh what's the term it's on the tip of my tongue......oh yes Adapt.

Just like with the new DH it will take time to adjust to the changes but it's not game breaking or horrible....all this did as many said took away Macro Clickers power away so if you want to blame anyone blame them because they are the root cause to this change and how they weaponized flashlights to harm players.

Telling killers to adapt to no longer being able to slug and take the 0 IQ way of playing and instead actually play and engage in the game is entirely different than all but removing a tool from the survivors, and since keys are just as useless, now all that remains is toolboxes and med kits.

I absolutely do blame the macro clickers, but if anyone thinks this is in the name of accessibility, they're out of their minds. The company is on the verge of losing their highest profile killer players and claiming that changes are "for accessibility" is insulting when many other triggering visual effects exist unchanged.

And @Pulsar , the poor attempt at an insult isn't nearly as clever as you think it is. But whatever helps you sleep at night. As you've said, you're "terrible at survivor", so your opinion on flashlights isn't worth much.

  • That is absolutely far too clunky and slow for most flashlight save situations that aren't already being orchestrated by SWF squads with communication. When moving to save alone in solo queue, especially repositioning while running, that cooldown impacts the ability to adjust the blind. Period. One YouTube video does not represent the whole of the game, especially when it's painfully obvious that this is a custom match.

Video games have photosensitivity warnings for a reason. There were other ways the macro flashlights could have been dealt with, and this was not it. The devs using the community as an excuse for this change instead of admitting that it's pandering to angry slug killers who can't handle flashlights and teabagging is egregious; expecially since accessibility colorblindness settings (which are far less of a safety issue) arrived far before now. It's incredibly convenient that this nerf is coming on the heels of BMing killer mains crying in droves on the forums about slug pickups and killer main streamers threatening to quit the game over hackers.

If you can't see it for what it is, then you're far more blind than a flashlight could ever make you.

  • @Pulsar said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3210122#Comment_3210122

Crouching isn't giving people with photosensitivity problems.

There is a real accessibility concern that the Devs have finally addressed. I'm not photosensitive, but flashlight macro's give me awful headaches from the noise, let alone the strobing.

This doesn't affect flashlight saves nor communication using flashlights. All it does is take away an obnoxious agility that could harm members of our community.

I agree that macros were a problem, but regular clicking was not. Now we get a clunky, useless item with which blinds can no longer be adjusted in time to make a save.

There are more flashing lights and visual distortions in this game than some annoying clicky clickies, so let's be honest and call it what it is: a way to keep slugging killers playing because they're upset with the basekit unbreakable changes upcoming.

Oh oh yeah i forgot about Slug races. Yeah I will also miss carry survivors to

hatch too. I would sometimes like to

    give hatch.

I just thought the flashlight change seem like a good thing. I didn’t realize the full meaning of the nerf behind them. I will make sure to read this more carefully next time. But anyway I apologize for misunderstanding the nerf behind them.

There's no reason to apologize at all. You asked why people were disagreeable to it and have every right to.

  • @Huge_Bush said:

Giant Spider won’t work unless they could figure out how to animate it to travel through narrow pathways.

SpringTrap won’t work because it’ll divide the community since the fans of the series were super annoying about it and have left a sour taste in many mouths. Also there’s some controversy with the creator supporting certain political groups. I hope it never comes because I’m a spiteful bit*h and haven’t forgotten the ruckus fans of the series caused when we were speculating on who the next killer before Cake Daddy Pyramid Head dropped.

I don’t see why we can’t have an alien. It would probably be as large as Demopuppy. They’d just have to come up with interesting ideas for its powers and abilities. Something like The Forgotten Twins powers would work, just less clunky and dependent on slugging.

We can’t have a killer that disguised as a Survivor. Everyone thought that would be Legions power but SWF is a thing and it wouldn’t work in this game.

They have lots of possibilities, it’s just not easy to make them all real. While I like original characters, Licensed ones are the money makers. I just hope for Chucky one day. Oh, and Oppai Vampire Lady from Resident Evil.

If I saw Big Vampire Woman, I would simply throw myself at her feet and beg to increase her MMR

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/348774/can-we-stop-weaponising-the-community-flashlight-changes

This isn't a "nerf" in any meaningful sense. The ability to use flashlights for their intended purpose (blinding) is barely, and I mean barely (even that word is pushing it) affected by this.

The ability to use flashlights to be an obnoxious ass is decimated by this, but who is this affecting? Obnoxious asses. The issue is what exactly?

Leaving survivors on the ground to bleed out was never "intended", but killers love to rely on that and waste everyone's time.

Nobody "intended" for killers to stand still in front of a hook and prevent one of the players from participating in a game. But, killers used those mechanics outside of their "intended" purpose and it became "a strategy" (and I use that term loosely).

Nobody "intended" for killers to abuse survivors on hook by being able to hit them over and over. And yet here some killers are, being just as toxic as survivors who abuse with their flashlights.

  • Personally, I'm more sad than mad. My friends and I goof off with flashlights at the start of matches and now that's gone. Slug races at the gates with friendly killers will be gone. Killers can no longer carry survivors around for hatch if they want to be nice.

It seems like the people who just want to vibe are suffering for the toxic people who harass killers, and for killers who can't be level-headed enough to handle that griefing.

Just learn morse code and teabag silly messages at each other instead then :)

Nah because I seriously believe crouch cooldown is next at this point. It's clearly so gamebreaking.

  • @VikingDragonXii said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3209994#Comment_3209994

The intended purpose of flashlights is to blind the killer or save survivors....all this other stuff that players say is "fun" are not the intended purpose and subject to change by the Devs to removed those unintended uses.

Nobody cares what the intended purposes are. Nobody intended hooks to be camped, but here we are.

The point of games is to have fun. This game is now just killers shidding on survivors and getting second chance kills. You take away the fun, there's no reason to play.

  • My favorite thing to do with my best friend on DBD is have flashlight arguments when we find each other in the match. We literally can't blind to save our lives and we aren't toxic to killers either it; we genuinely only bring them to be goofy on her stream.

I know it's a small thing, but it's one of the last things that was funny and enjoyable about the game.

  • It would be too strong, I'm sorry to say. But you could suggest gaining half a health state, similar to resurgence, or a 2x healing speed boost until fully recovered.

  • I agree that Wesker's lines are excessive. Not even Pinhead talks that much. In the lobby a little quip is fine, but over and over with every action the killer takes? Please let us turn it off.

  • I also just had this issue playing with a Nightmare. They were on crossplay; I'm on Xbox and the Killer's entire name was censored with asterisks. Couldn't message them or other survivors, who were also crossplay, to see if they saw it.

Freddy was using Remember Me, Bitter Murmur, Surge, and Cruel Limits for perks; add-ons were Garden Rake and Wool Shirt. Their offering was a Cypress Mori, though they were too busy tunneling and facecamping to use it.

    ba309cd1-f8ba-4cbd-aa84-e33391acdd11.png

Edit: I just brought the Loam map offering. Facing a Wesker, the issue does not replicate.

  • @Rizzo said:

The perks are already in alphabetical order, at least those of the same tier, just keep in mind perks like hexes or scourge hooks have "Hex" and "Scourge Hook" before the name of the perk.

Although more options for sorting would be nice.

You are right, the tiers were the issue. Lmao. Forgive me, I haven't played much since the update.

But yes, if we could also sort by character at least, that may be a small improvement.

Sometimes I can't remember the perk name other than "that one (character) perk where it does this thing".

  • I agree.

If killers are going to play like they have no skill and slug everyone for the lols, we should be able to leave and not reward that behavior.

  • Whether or not a survivor hides in a locker shouldn't matter unless you're going for the Evil Incarnate achievement. If you grab them from a locker, it's still a kill. Nothing else in the game dictates you just kill all 4 by your hand.

  • I think the Condemned status should build naturally and automatically throughout the match to force survivors to interact with TVs, like the Dream World. Otherwise, survivors can usually ignore the TVs in a match and it's not even a threat.

  • @burt0r said:

And I still find it funny when people whine about free stuff not being up to their standards.

And to anyone that gets prime just for rewards of ONE game, do you really have too much money on your hands or lost control of your spending habits?

In my mind paying for Amazon prime ONLY for some dumb skins is everyone own mistake and doesn't make demanding higher quality digital goods reasonable.

People have a right to complain when the product (both the prime gaming loot for this game and the rift pass) is not what was advertised.

  • @PaintedDeath said:

Damn bro. Way to complain about getting free #########.

It's not free, considering you either paid for it with prime or paid for it with a rift pass, and it's not what was advertised. It's a valid complaint.

  • What the above user said. No matter how LONG the aura read is, Distortion consumes a token at each individual instance of killer aura readings triggering.

  • If it isn't the consequences of tunneling killers' own actions.

  • When a large portion of the player base that also exists on forums and Reddit subs verbalize that their games have been terrible, I'm gonna have to disagree with you.

There's nothing you can "adapt" to when your games are either over in 5 minutes with 5 to 4 gens left, or lasts an hour because of slowdowns. The cherry on top is the rise in BM.

It's not about survivors refusing to adapt. It's about killers sh¹tting on teams when pre-patch their antics were awarded with a a facecamping 1k at most.

See, I'm not sure it was legal obligation to specifically unlink the perks from the characters, because like for the icons and the perk description, I believe they could have made an exception

After all, prestiging still gives you the bloody cosmetics and perk charms, so why should perks be different?

I don't think the conversation is productive anymore.

They lost the license to the characters, the map, and for whatever dumb reason, they were forced to change the names of the perks, likely due to both a legal obligation and the knowledge that these perks would have to become universal to ensure people who couldn't get the DLC would still have access to said perks.

It's been like this for months. A year, even, I think. Not understanding where the issue is suddenly now.

But it is what it is and until and unless Netflix renews a contract, this is how it's going to be. Period. End of story. It's unfortunate but this is how it had to be.

I'm trying to do 90 second gens...

I'm working on the cooperative action challenge. I have Deja Vu, Situational Awareness, Prove Thyself, and Corrective Action.

We get a Huntress on Sanctum of Wrath. I want to work on the middle gen, but I lost most of my Deja Vu repair speed waiting for the killer to patrol it and leave.

I start working on it. Situational Awareness makes it glow yellow. Doesn't stop Kate from looping the killer around it. She goes down and is put into the basement below the temple. The Huntress stands on top and camps. I have to go find another gen.

1 gen pops and I find a 3-gen I want to break. Jake goes down trying to save Kate. Dwight has to get the rescue. The killer slugs Kate on the basement stairs and chases Dwight. I finish up my gen and go to pick up Kate.

The Huntress comes back and immediately downs Kate and sacrifices her (she went stage 2, prior, because of the camping). I run to the opposite side to work on a gen, finish it, and heal up. The killer slugs the other 2 and looks for me.

She hooks Dwight and looks for me around the hook. She camps Dwight to death while I work on the middle gen. Meanwhile, the Jake had crawled to Dwight's hook so I cannot get either of them.

After Dwight dies, the Huntress picks up Jake and lets him go. He brings her straight to me. I run away, lead her on a chase, and manage to break line of sight and get away. Meanwhile, Jake gets to repair a gen in peace.

I try to work on a gen but have to sneak away when the lullaby shows up. I managed to evade her, so she goes and downs Jake again to give him aura reading on me. He wiggles free and brings her right to me and points. She manages to down me this time.

They proceed to grief me by spamming the unhook to prevent me from attempting escape to get out of the match quicker. Then they farm me off the hook. Then the killer gives Jake the hatch after I die.

    ----

I thought that killers wouldn't be so desparate to hook all 4 survivors now that BBQ has changed. I was wrong.

Camping, tunneling, slugging at 4 gens, and then "teammates" working with the killer to grief you because you didn't do enough gens, or you didn't do enough unhooks, or you didn't single-handedly prevent the killer from camping, tunneling, or slugging and carry their salty behind out the exit. Solo queue! 😁

    Sounds about right.

  • It would be a great option, but they won't do that because it would be the same as someone using the "Leave Match" button without penalty.

We all know how some people feel about anyone who recommends removing the DC penalties.

But they could have made a simple exception for those characters, it's not like they're planning the future of the game based on the DLC

Like, they already have exceptions like that in place (perk icon and description), so it shouldn't be something unheard of?

They literally couldn't. As a part of the separation from the agreement with Netflix, they had to change the perk titles (and some people who didn't buy the DLC see different perk icons that don't depict the characters). It was a legal obligation. Sorry.
