Can you please DM me your cloud ID?

I have done so just now. Thanks!

  • Updating just to confirm that the error persists despite the new bloodweb changes. I am still unable to progress The Spirit. No other killers impacted that I've seen so far.

Pretty sure this has been a thing for a bit now

I had heard it was a thing for killers who AFK to reduce their MMR and get easier matches, but I had no idea it would impact survivors. Then again, I don't often forget I queued up, but during 2v8 there was some loooooooong queue times and I got hungry while waiting and just... forgor 😭

Seems like if they're going to treat you as a DC, the game should force you out of the game instead of teasing you with the option of finishing the match for nothing. The other survivors will at least get a bot instead of an afk ragdoll that way.

I agree. While it's 100% my bad to forget that I queued up, it feels disingenuous to give a DC penalty when I did, to the best of my ability, complete the match.

  • @DeBecker said:

    I doubt that.

Hi! I'll post the reply below and I hope this helps.

    " Hey there!

This is Mark, from Dead by Daylight. Hope you're doing well!

First off, I'd like to thank you for your patience; we have been receiving a large volume of tickets, and because of that I apologize if our reply took longer than expected. We're working to the best of our abilities to make sure we can tend to the needs of all our players, and I'll be happy to keep on assisting you!

That being said, I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us and let us know that you received a disconnection penalty after a match in which you were AFK And returned only at the very end. I understand the penalty was applied between the time you left your controller while on the scoreboard, and coming back at the lobby with the penalty already applied I'm sorry for any inconvenience this situation may have brought to you, and I'll be happy to assist as best as I can!

Keep in mind that the disconnection penalties are applied automatically by our system, which picks up on players who are AFK during matches, and that matches are only truly over once you are back into the lobby (and not the moment you die, meaning that the scoreboard is still part of the match). This means that the system may have picked up on the fact that you were still unresponsive on the scoreboard, along with the time you spent AFK during the match, and applied the penalty after the fact, once you were back into the Lobby. In addition, a network connection hiccup happened on the scoreboard while you were away, that could cause a disconnection penalty as well.

Hope this information helps understand this scenario! Please feel free to let me know if you have any other questions or situations I can help with, and I'll be glad to keep on assisting to the best of my capabilities.

Wish you have a great day, and see you in The Fog!

    Kind regards,

    Mark "

Thank you for your report @HeyItsQuiet

To clarify, there are two Bloodpoint pools:

The first is in-game earned Bloodpoints, which is capped at 2 million.

The other, is bonus Bloodpoints from codes, rank reset, log-in bonuses, etc, which is uncapped.

I just want to double-check if this may be a case of hitting the BP cap for the earned pool? Thank you!

    Hi there!

I don't believe so, as when I logged in today, I suddenly had 3,075,665k and change. I spent some, where I ended up at 2,999,665. I took a screenshot before my first match of the night, and a screenshot of the end screen to show that I completed the match, but you can see that my BP didn't change after scoring 23,276.

    Yeah in a 4v1…if it’s a 1v1v1v1v + v1 buff chases and remove gens then.

That makes absolutely no sense. Hatch is not toxic. End of story.

i generally prefer the bot. The teammate is 90% of the time awful. Lol

Sometimes as killer I forget there's a bot in the match, and 9/10 times, that's the last survivor and they always know where the hatch is lol

I have seen server disconnects more than normal lately. I have NOT been given a disconnect timer for any of them.

SO, this says to me that you are either at fault, or at the very least are seen to be the cause of your disconnects by BHVR. You might want to put a ticket in to actually talk with support about it.

Also, if you have a 2 day timer you are disconnecting way too often already. If you are quitting out of the game at all, STOP IT NOW!

If I was in charge of this then the timer would progress from 1 hour, to 1 day, to 1 week, and finally to 1 year. So you should be thankful that BHVR are being so kind to you.

Your proposal is entirely too harsh. Server disconnects can and do provide penalties, because BHVR claims they cannot differentiate between a real server disconnect and someone pulling their Ethernet/Wifi. There is not a single other game out here with penalties that stack like this and punishes players to this extreme.

Especially with the addition of bots, there is absolutely no way a DC, intentional or otherwise, "ruins the match" for everyone else. That's the whole point of the bots, who are actually sometimes better than the real player.

  • @CrypticGirl said:

If people are wondering why people choose to throw on hook over DC'ing, they need look no further than this thread.

I understand DC penalties are healthier for the game, but I will keep reiterating that there is ZERO reason for the penalties to stack to this level. It needs to be capped, maybe 30 minutes, maybe an hour, but no more than that. And when it does reset after 24 hours, it needs to reset to ZERO, not just to the previous tier.

Not only that, but if they determine you have disconnected for any reason too much in a certain time period, they'll slap you with a week ban or more. That includes Disconnected From Server errors.

  • Personally, I would've preferred just adding another generator, or tweaking the gen spawn points to be farther apart, or having a default minimum distance radius between each. Unfortunately with the maps getting smaller, I know that may not be an option.

  • They already nerfed hatch. It used to allow 4 man escapes and put more pressure on the killer.

One of the last two is going to be found. Does it suck to be the one left on hook while your teammate waits for you to die? Yes. But that's not toxicity. That's a choice to be a bad teammate.

  • Same! I'm so happy to see more Demopuppies breaking up the constant flow of Huntress, Xeno and Trapper. It's really nice that newer players are now able to experience the joys of the chapter.

The "neat gimmick" looks cheap and tacky. If BHVR wants to show off the upside down by having spores float around, that's fine. But having my screen alternate back and forth between normal tint and super green glow, makes the map feel like a dance club.

The random "upside down" parts don't even make sense. In the show, the characters are either in the upside down, or they aren't, and the only exceptions might be the areas directly next to a portal. But this map randomly decides that parts of random hallways count as the upside down, because reasons?

The worst part of "long ago" DBD are the super saturated glowing effects that the maps were back then. Many maps were literally just one giant blob of the same color glow. We don't need that effect back in the game.

It absolutely does make sense. The characters enter the laboratory after the Upside Down has breached into the normal world, and is beginning to encroach on their dimension. The lab starts to become overgrown with the fleshy vines and the Upside Down is trying to envelop the lab and the entire town.

Just because you don't like the color doesn't mean it doesn't make sense. Not outdated at all. In fact, it looks like it's been polished to be a little more up to date. It's still entirely accurate to the show.

If you dislike it so bad, stay in the areas that aren't green.

  • It's literally part of the map. The green area is the Upside Down.

  • It's good that it's hidden, in a way. As a console survivor with a high prestige Nea, who often gets absolutely deuced on in matches, I don't want killers to lobby dodge me.

For killers, I get it. Seeing a P100 Feng with a flashlight waiting in the lobby would make me turn off the console and cremate it out of fear.

  • I'd love the lore of giving experienced characters (P100) a Void effect to show that they've been in the realm so long that they're at the breaking point. Ultimately most living beings the Entity takes will lose hope and usefulness and end up in the Void anyway, and we also know there's a multiverse element. it would fit very well with the overarching story of the survivors AND killers.

Versus yet another charm that I, personally, would never use. There's just too many of them already.

  • It also proves again that they can teleport survivors to a different hook, which would've been a much better anti-facecamping mechanic, similar to Pyramid Head's cages.

If you remove the Store Event then I wont have anything to look forward to. ☹️ Some of us WILL lose something.

It was a much better business model to put holiday cosmetics on sale for their holiday rather than remove them entirely and bring them back once a year at full price.

You got a source for that claim?

It was general knowledge in my sales education that themed and once a year products are a boon to business.

    sOuRcE

Not everything needs a source. What I can say is that compared to 2 years ago, I'm seeing less and less of the new cosmetics with casual players, and am seeing the new auric cell only skins on players with high blood web levels in the vast majority of my games. Last year, when the FOMO tactics changes were introduced, there was indeed a mad dash to purchase, because of how many people missed the fine print that the cosmetics could come back in the future.

The trends I'm seeing are that casuals are sticking with classic/older/free skins, or skins that are currently able to be earned in the Haunted and regular Rifts. Just in passing observation after the release of the new skins, 80% of the players I see wearing them are streamers who can write off the purchase, or veterans invested with P70-100 in their webs. I've yet to see a Tinkerbell Claudette who isn't at or near P100.

People are more likely to buy things on sale than they are for full price. Why else do places like Michaels and JoAnn's sell their very popular Halloween/Xmas merch for a constant "40% off"? It's not actually 40% off, that's the regular retail value of the item; but they put it on "sale" so customers find more value in the price.

I'm guessing BHVR sold more Stranger Things cosmetics at the closing 50-70% off than they had for the entirety of their run with the license at full price. And unfortunately, I think that's when they discovered that making things time limited and increasing the anxiety of cosmetic completionists and collectors was a good idea.

You might be mixing things up. They never promised that. Here is the original tweet featuring the announcement:

    https://twitter.com/DeadbyDaylight/status/1569702463309074434

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RF74H916P01D/image.png

4 weeks after release is what they promised and they have been keeping their word so far. As of right now the most recent collection made available for Iridescent Shards is the Nordic Fashion collection. Fire Moon collection is next in line.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OVAP76YNE8BD/image.png

The only failed aspect to this promise are related to time limited cosmetics that seem to take 730 days to become available for Iridescent Shards. Scarecrow Kate debuted last year. This year (365 days later) its available for Auric Cells only and next year it should be available for Iridescent Shards just like Mummy Dwight.

I appreciate you being able to do the research and find what I was referring to. Thank you!

I think its fair to have events with special cosmetics that come back next year. it gives me something to look forward to.

It would be sad and boring again if there was no difference in the store. I enjoy buying things I cant get every second of every day-

I'm glad you find it something worth looking forward to, but none of us lose anything by having the items available year round. It was a much better business model to put holiday cosmetics on sale for their holiday rather than remove them entirely and bring them back once a year at full price.

Our anticipation should be focused on the events anyway and not necessarily the cosmetics.

  • @LapisInfernalis said:

Last year's time limited outfits are now available for shards.

But yeah, I also don't like the fomo tactic.

I mean I earned all of last year's cosmetics so I cannot see that. It's still beside the point that they promised that new upcoming cosmetics for original characters would be available for shards upon release.

  • @AykDanroyd said:

It's BS and it's going to turn off players or at the very least bite BHVR in the ass because they fail to realize that the economic situation in the world is not good with all the inflation and recessions going on where people can't afford to buy much needed things let alone cosmetics in a video game.

So rather than leave the skins on year round so players who might be squeezed for cash now but might not be a few months from now can buy them then, BHVR is just saying either buy now or F off. How is that smart business-wise or how does that treat the very customers keeping them afloat in any reasonable or respectful way? It's not. If they were smart, they would release these various collections in permanent DLC sets much like Head Case, The 80's Suitcase, and even the Attack on Titan skins were released in those 2 DLCs just before they were removed. That would be smart business-wise and would also be more respectful to the players.

Just imagine how much more skins they would've sold if they made & kept those Attack on Titan skin DLCs from the start of the release of those skins and how many players who were unable to buy them during those few weeks in July would've been able to buy them earlier or later. And the same goes for any other limited time skins. It's a scummy thing to do and stupid too on the business end and pretty much scummy decision a business can make is also stupid.

I mean I understand that they might not have been able to keep AoT due to it being licensed. But for original characters and original cosmetics, I think having them in a holiday themed DLC pack would be a fantastic option if they don't want to keep them in the stores. I'm torn however, because sometimes people just want one piece of a cosmetic and don't want to spend money on the entire thing.

If someone is struggling financially to make ends meet the last thing they should be thinking about is cosmetics in a video game.

I think the simple answer to this that would benefit everyone would be to have a shop rotation that updates every 24 hours with cosmetics from any annual event. It would encourage people to login more often and give more opportunities for players to pick up cosmetics they may have missed out on before without having to wait for the next event.

I would agree if games like Fortnite didn't already have this practice and it's really disappointing to have short-term FOMO. I will still maintain that nobody loses anything by having these cosmetics available all year round. We should be looking forward to the events themselves, not the return of cosmetics that aren't even guaranteed to come back year after year. What if they forget one? What if they decide to go back to exclusive and have cosmetics that are never ever available again despite not being tied to a third party license?

Just as an example, since you brought up a rotating shop, I've been waiting for well over a year for Mando to come back to Fortnite so I could buy it but it never has, and that's extremely frustrating.

This is literally a "shut up and take my money" moment, lol.

  • Where the hell you been, loca?

  • Super silly, too. First game of the anniversary was a facecamping Oni who tunneled out everyone who got an invitation. Events clearly bring out the best in low-skill killer mains.

Again, you are losing nothing. There are THIRTY ONE other killers to play, and survivors, as well. I don't understand why you're acting like this game is completely unplayable with ONE killer unavailable.

Your inability to learn a different character does not get to come at the expense of all the survivors who would be abused and cheated out of a fair match due to Wesker mains exploiting the bug.

Get over it and pick someone else to play, or just go to a different game. The devs cannot bend over backwards and immediately repair a bug just because one player throws a fit over their main being unavailable.

I'm assuming because this DLC was released after the announcement and only created to push sales before they are gone.

I actually had to dig to find these DLC packs in the Xbox store. I've never seen them in the add-ons list prior to today when Paulie made a video about it.

Kinda wild that content that many people paid for via DLC is just kill switched indefinitely. Like, it's one thing to killswitch a map or a perk. But to killswitch an entire character that people PAID for. Pretty crazy. I bought the DLC back in September so it's not that big of a deal to me. But it really sucks for people who may have just purchased it. Y'all really should be compensating them since you've basically ripped them off for the time being. I would definitely be complaining to Sony, Steam, Epic, etc. if I were those folks. People spend so much money on your bugged game and y'all are just like "we'll get it fixed eventually."

There are killers who are available. Choose one of those. Nobody is getting ripped off. Game bugs happen. Get over it.

If only every patch something completely unrelated to the new content didn't break.

You know you can just save your blood points for when he comes back right? Lmfao

  • I would also like to get some confirmation on whether this is intentional or a glitch. I'm not going to spend over $60 for two DLCs to save some money and then not even get the charms that are supposed to come with it.

Kind of silly that the DLCs are not on sale as well. When stranger things left, they reduced it all the way down to 50% off.

  • Something has to be done about the penalties. As said above, not everyone has a choice in provider. We had a whole week of intermittent issues where our provider would have random outages anywhere from 5pm-2am, without warning. Since I had no way to predict when it would happen, and no time to play outside that range (and no ETA from the company on when stability would be restored), I acquired penalties. I deadas had to just play other games without these unnecessary timeouts.

That's not even counting DBD Disconnected from Host crashes, which still give a penalty, as I just experienced now.

They CAN tell who is doing it on purpose and who isn't, but they choose to not implement that distinction. They think people will just pull out their Ethernet to avoid the timeout.

  • It would be more tolerable to play against him if he wasn't constantly talking. I wish we had the option to remove in-game spoken dialogue. He talks more than all other characters with voice lines combined. In ONE match.

  • @DBDVulture said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/373342/killer-games-at-my-mmr-are-unwinnable-now

You can play to tie. Force one stage two then tunnel them. Then face camp the second player.

This makes everyone not have fun.

It's so stupid that we lost the ability to 3 gen just because the Skull Merchant was completely broken with kick perks.

Can I ask why this is even a recommendation in a non-competitive game? Especially when you're well aware that it makes the match miserable for everyone else?

  • Players who took issue with the healing nerfs were met with "MAD CUZ BAD, JUST ADAPT, LOL DONT USE CRUTCH PERKS" and were accused of being entitled survivor mains.

So it sounds like killer mains just need to adapt to gen rushing, which is the only viable option to be successful in a match as survivor right now. Abusive killer plays are out of control now that they know nobody can reasonably self-heal. Flashlights received another nerf and are near useless, as are med kits. What else are survivors supposed to do but gens?

  • Good. Survivors have had all items nerfed and have little else in the way of tools to make it through abusive matches.

  • I've seen a heavy increase in Legion players, and hemorrhage/mangled builds. This coupled with the inability to heal yourself in a reasonable amount of time has led to excruciatingly long games, more killer abuse than I've ever seen in the last year, and many more losses.

  • People shouldn't be required to stay in a game where they're being abused, or if they're downed within the first minute and have had no chance to engage in gameplay.

Just move on to the next.

  • @ad19970 said:

We'll see. I for one am excited for more drastic changes. But some changes might be too much. Perhaps it would be enough to increase healing to 20 seconds, instead of 24 for example.

I do think camping will need to be addressed before this patch goes live. If survivors need longer to heal, the hook phase duration 100% needs to be increased to at least 70 seconds, or BHVR is going to cause some very troubling gameplay.

I disagree when it comes to Wraith though, he definitely still has enough counterplay. The healing nerf just might make him a bit too strong, with his high movement speed.

I'm a tad less worried about wraith than I am about legions running Thana and sloppy, preventing anyone from getting anything done whatsoever. They could have just changed circle of healing and left med kits alone.

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3379173#Comment_3379173

Normal people do not call this game survivor or killer sided. Because it is neither.

To be fair, I thought only medkits got nerfed, and not healing in general. But we'll see how that plays out. After the hud icon buffs that survivors got, killers needed a bit of something. Not sure if this is the right way to do things though.

Still, survivors have more than enough to work with. They still have a lot of good perks, clearly, so again, I do not understand how one would assume that killer queue times would go up to 20 minutes. Probably won't lol.

Also, Wraith has more counter besides lightburn? Like what the hell? And Nurse is op, with or without Lightburn. That shouldn't be the only counterplay a killer has. Nurse needs to be further looked into.

Wraith counter is now reduced to "pre-drop every pallet on the map and hope he doesn't mind game you". That's it. Hag trap removals are now a time waster and nothing more. Nurse, who as you say is OP in your opinion, needs counters besides "hope your mid-chase juke works". I've found blinding her out of a blink in chase with a teammate to be invaluable to balancing matches against skilled Nurses.

I'm not a top tier killer. I play both roles 50/50. It's never been easier to get a 3-4k ever since 6.1, and I'm afraid it's only going to get worse. The camping, tunneling, and slugging have drastically increased since then as well, which prompted me personally to play more killer than survivor because I was tired of being griefed. No Gen, No Heal Legions have also seen a drastic rise, with my longest match against one of them being over an hour and everyone being left to bleed out after only repairing one generator (and I have to say and that instance, my teammates were not inept noobs; everyone was working very hard to get out of the match but we just couldn't.)

I don't wish games like that on anyone for either side. Hopefully some of these changes will be reversed because I do not see the health of the game improving after this.

  • @Crowman said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3379121#Comment_3379121

Killer queues didn't hit 20 minutes after the 6.1.0 which was also a patch people cried made survivor unplayable. Plus it's not like Killers didn't get any nerfs here either as several popular regression perks got hit.

The killer "nerfs" were minor percentage changes in comparison to what survivor tools got. It was already easier than ever to secure a minimum of 3k per match, and even Otz did a week of no tunneling and proved that an 80% win rate can be achieved without those tactics. Now unskilled killers are going to be even more empowered to be abusive in game and push our survivor base away.

And yes, the killer queue waiting time actually did increase after that update, and some days it was so bad I couldn't even get a match in a timely manner and had to go play something else.

  • @ad19970 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3379121#Comment_3379121

Lmao meanwhile the 3 strongest slowdown perks on killer side all got nerfed hard as well. Where do you people get this crap from?

Not to mention that right now survivors are the ones with longer queue times.

Maybe we get it from the fact that now the Wraith has no counter whatsoever, as does the ability to interrupt a nurse's blink. Flashlights are all but useless now, as is dead hard and med kits. Almost every tool at the survivor's disposal has now been hulk smashed into the ground while killers got minor nerfs to their metas and buffs to some of their rarest add-ons.

And y'all still want to call this game survivor sided? Clinically insane at this point.

  • Can't wait to have 20 minute queues when I want to play killer because nobody wants to play survivor anymore. Just another example of coddling baby killers who can't secure a W without camping and tunneling feeling entitled to remove survivors' ability to heal.

I do agree, some people are just offensive for the sake of it and that's not right. I was a bit confused about the topic of this thread. People behaving like that is generally unacceptable regardless.

I was reminded of the whole discussion surrounding Sadako's nickname. It seemed to me like people just giving a killer a funny sounding nickname like people do for all killers was being conflated with people intentionally trying to offend others.

Nicknames are something else entirely. I don't understand the Onryō/oreo controversy, mostly because I'm aware of how to say it properly, so I stayed out of it. We should definitely have a voice line or something that says, for example, "Sadako Yamamura, The Onryō" for all killers as well.

But yeah, my point was that for a lot of people, representation of their culture or country in this game is important to them. It's one thing to pronounce someone's name wrong, and if you say "Actually it's (correct way)", generally, you would expect people to go "Oh okay, sorry about that!" and move on. But if I were a Chinese American player with the family name Feng, and had to sit here and read a bunch of people saying that they refuse to say that character's name right just because they don't think it sounds right in THEIR language, or because they're used to saying "Fang", I'd think pretty poorly of the community.

Is it not a bit of a stretch to compare how you would treat a real person's name to how you speak of a fictional character that doesn't have feelings though.

Forgive me for this, I hate to ask this question but do we really have to consider the thoughts/feelings of a "character" which has none to begin with?

Like obviously people shouldn't spew hatred, that's not what I'm saying but when did simply pronouncing a name wrong become the same as that (In the context of DBD)

I do like your idea though, some character names idk how to pronounce so I just go with how it's commonly done or i look it up

I'm not referring to the feelings of a character. I'm referring to the feelings of people who are represented by a character, and to hear the community say that it's not worth the respect of pronouncing the name right would feel pretty shiddy.

A lot of these players are blatantly doing it for racist reasons or to be trolls. (i.e. I've screencapped multiple players saying "Nah I'm gonna keep saying Fang because I speak English not [slur for Chinese people]. Many, many people saying this and worse.)

It's also just common sense at this point. Some people don't know how to pronounce Élodie, or Zarina. It would just make things easier.
