Those nonlicensed dont really look better graphic-wise or more realistic except hair, they just look more handsome except Kate who looks like someone who had way too much plastic surgery.

Because bad survivors are a non factor when it comes to balance.
Why would you look at a game and say it is balanced when the other 3 survivors clearly sat in a corner picking their nose while you chased someone for 30 to 60 seconds. and if they can't even get 30 seconds out of you at the start of the game with all pallets available then that speaks volumes about the caliber of survivors you are against.
Bad Killer players shouldnt be a factor either.
-
Not really, stealth is the first barrier of protection against a Killer and you can make him waste time by having them searching your tile without finding you, Urban Evasion is decent for stealth but Iron Will is much better for that kind of build for it allows for stealth even while injured, BT is good but I believe for Solo is better Spine Chill, it also helps a lot with stealth because it tells you when is safe to switch cover and when not.
The only drawback is if they actually find you, you have lost a headstart on the Killer so only try it on easy to stealth tiles and maps.
-
The comunity... pffff hahahaha cant say it with a straight face...
Finally we got a game with Michael Myers where he doesnt appear as an easter egg.
-
We dont even need a Turorial, we should be able to start matches on KYF alone, with that we could pretty much train loops as Survivor and try most powers using landmarks instead of Survivors and it wouldnt be that hard to implement.

Most survivors will rush 4 gens in first 2 min and 99 the last gen, then start bullying the killer to get more BP,after they used some pallets they will power the gate and open the door and tbag and flash light click @ the door. If u r using a trash killer like trapper basically there is nothing u can do and u will feel urself like a clown
Ok, Ill take the bait.
No they wont, in my games, both as Killer and Survivor that never happens, Ive never seen Survivors leaving gens at 90% just to troll me or my teammates doing that to troll, either you are in some weird bracket or you are just making up stuff in an attempt to prove a point. And not only my games, Ive never seen any streamers suffering or doing this also you are the first person saying something as absurd as this and we see pages and pages of threads complaining about genrushing in this forum every day yet nobody came up with a claim like that.
In any case even if all your games are like that, my point still stands, either you are using some weird meme useless build or you are in dire need of gitting gud because games where all gens get powered in 4 minutes are rare, at least in my end and a lot of streamers end even the good Survivor streamers dont get all 5 gens in 4 minutes on a 50% match basis.

I think what they're trying to say is that the gens get done in 3-4 minutes, which shouldn't be possible but it is. The rest of the game is the survivors being greedy and trying to get all 4 out via hook bombing and hook trading, because the killer's only way of getting a kill at that point is face camping, which brings the match to about 6-8 minutes.
Im well aware what he is trying to say, what Im trying to say is what it looks like 3-4 minutes may be more and he is just misscalculating how much Survivors took to fix the gens, which is pretty common, I tend to check how much my games last and as Killer they always look shorter than what they really lasted.

Ok. So it's my fault I have one good match where I 2 pip because the survivors suck and therefore I deserve 7 or 8 matches where I get my ass beat or have to scrape and crawl just to get 4 bbq stacks? K.
Its not your fault but the solution is not handing over games because you got boosted up to a rank, you got lucky with bad Survivors now you have to get unlucky or get better, you cant expect to reach a point where you cant stomp anymore and the game to be changed to suit you.
I do acknowledge that at the sweatest of levels, the highest 0,1% may be imbalanced towards SWFs but I really doubt anyone in this thread is in that bracket so either you adapt and get better or you get sent to your proper rank, hopefully MMR will solve this.
-
Lets see, several injures but no downs, several mistakes at gyms, got baited on the chainsaw several times, not commiting to any chase but not applying proper pressure either, a hard map with a lot of unmindgameable pallets, Corrupted Intervention on the highest mobility Killer instead of something else and lets be honest, while I dont really like Tru3's style of streaming he is good as both Survivor and Killer.
Yeah its all because they added the heat meter, no mistake here.

Ok, then how do they stay in red ranks? And i say this as a purple rank killer that gets put in and stays in red rank hell.
By stomping Solo queue potatos, a Solo queue team with 1 potato is already at a huge disadvantage and rarely that game ends well for Survivors, best scenario the Killer gets "only" 2K. Also is not that hard to black pip as a Killer.
-
I dislike Killers with very small skill floors and high rewards, on common language, supereasy to play and extremely hard to counter, things like Spirit, Freddy and to a degree PH, with those 3 any noob can stomp.
Nurse and Huntress while having an insane reward are much more difficult to play so at least you know if you get decimated is by someone who put a lot of work and effort on getting very good instead of buying Spirit and putting Stridor on her.
-
@Ivaldi said:
I thought it was already active?
Whats active is the data gathering to assign everyone on their respective MMR but people is not getting paired using it, for now it still uses the rank system.
MMR was active some days ago for 24 hours to test it and then brought back offline after they collected data on how it was working.
-
Are they really 3-4 minute games? because people tend to miss-gauge how long trials last, especially Killers, they are usually longer than what you feel.
If they are really that short and you are having a lot of them either you must be the unluckiest person in the comunity (genrush squads are not THAT common, I may get 1 every 20 games), you are playing with an extremely busted build (you cant expect to win easily using something lke Monstrous+Beast of Prey+Mad Grit+Distressing) or you are not very good, climbed the ranks by stomping Solo queue potatos and now you have to face the veterans and must relearn the game.

It all boils down to 1 suvivor being able to keep the killer busy while the other one can progress gens (if he wants). I´ve seen quite a amout of matches that only went down, because someone rage quit.
Good point on the kill rates. We need to see the current stats. I´m having a feeling that we have now far fewer kills than we had before the mori and undying nerf. But thats a totally different topic.
The thing is keeping the Killer busy depends on 2 people, the Survivor distracting and the Killer letting himself be distracted, in a 2 people left 1 gen need work no decent Killer is going to let himself be distracted for more than 40 seconds nand he rarely will be pulled away from where gens are, odds are he will get a hit and then go back to check on gens trying to at least hit the other Survivor and he will usually patrol gens and stop chases unless they are on a dead zone with no pallets, that assuming he is at least decent.
In my experience as both roles at ranks1-3 usually at 2 people with a gen with less than 20% done is almost always +3K minumum unless both Survivors are super good at stealth, looping and the 3 gens are very very spread, having all those conditions met is very hard. Between 21% and 60% is 75% times a +3K and with more than 60% is half +3K, half 2K. Even fixing the gen doesnt guarantee 2 people will escape for someone is getting chased and unless they have Adrenaline or are uninjured, the distraction has a huge chance of going down while the free Survivor is opening the gates and once he goes down is over.

That's what perks like Remember Me and the new one, that blocks the gate are for.
People will realize it's better to work in a team and not abandon the team for the hatch.
No Way Out doesnt work with EGC for it requires for the 5º gen to be repaired not Exit Gates to be activated, it works like Rancor or at least thats what the description says, I havent tested it but the wording is especific "When the last Generator is repaired".
Remeber Me is almost never used, whoever camps the Hatch or Exit Gates will benefit from camping them almost always instead of trying to fix 2 gens which is almost always imposible just for the fear of facing 1 very rare perk, I cant remember the last time I saw that perk (no pun intended).
A case could be made for 1 gen at 0% because if the Killer is dumb you can actually manage to distract him for 80 seconds but once there are 2 people left and you have to fix more than 60 seconds of a gen is usually a 3K minimum and a lot of people decide its every Survivor for themselves.
In any case, removing the Hatch doesnt fix Survivors camping the exit nor Killers slugging, not having any kind of exit mechanic would create the problem of having to find the last super inmersed Survivor and that can take A LOT of time, having that mechanic is the lesser evil, sometimes people escape and dont deserve it? who cares, its just a game, Id rather have 3K half of my matches than having to waste 30 minutes trying to find the last person because he decided to win by forcing me to DC every once in a while. And before it gets suggested, killing the 4º Survivor when the 3º dies is a bad idea, it cuts Killer objectives to 9, would encourage ignoring one person entirely and camping the second and last person, it would be awful and after such thing gets implemented kill ratios would increase so much that a roll of nerfs for almost every Killer would come soon after.

That usually results in a failed escape since the time it takes the killer to reach exit gate is way faster then the time to open. With barbecue and chili they already see you and know exactly what gate to go to and even if they choose the wrong gate they really only have to walk halfway look for a light and if there's no light walk half way to the other gate and check for a light there.
Thats not how you open the Exit Gates in EGC.
Wait for the TR, wait until it goes away, open until the E on "Exit Gates" just a frame before the first light goes on, hide, wait for TR, wait for it to go away finish opening the Gate and escape, starting the EGC just when is one left will change absolutely nothing, just people camping the Gates instead of hatch (which some people already do, especially if they know the Killer knows Hatch position).

The endless endgame hunt wouldn't apply here tho. The way this idea would work is simple. The moment the 3rd hooked survivor dies. If the final survivor didn't unlock Hatch through in game achievements the game would act as if the killer had closed Hatch and the timer would begin. So endgame would still end quickly. Basically nothing changes from the current shape of the game other then the hatch pretty much AUTO CLOSING on survivors who didn't deserve it.
Then theyll camp the Exit Gates instead of the hatch, open them and escape anyway.
-
Thansk but you are still getting facecamped in basement.

Soooooo in that situation I could have been saved. Since the other survivor was camping the hatch instead of going for the rescue.
He would have camped the Exit Gates instead of the Hatch, it makes no diference.
In the case of starting the EGC right when there is only 1 left like you suggested the Killer would slug anyway because the last one can still open the Exit Gates and the only way to block an escape attempt is to slug, find the other guy, down him and hook him and the slugged one, again no difference.
Removing hatch and popping EGC doesnt solve Exit campers nor 4K sluggers, it just removes a gameplay element.
-
What they already said, then you have to find someone inmersed who will probably try to DC you out of the game, I had to find 2 guys who decided to go full inmersion once and it took me 17 minutes, I dont want to repeat that just because some people crave 4Ks more than mosquitos crave blood.
Hatch is fine, if someone didnt get their 4K because Hatch is not the end of the world it may reward bad Survivors but it also rewards good players who happened to be paired with potatos, it may punish good Killers but it may punish bad Killers who were lucky they got 3 potatos.
Id rather have 3Ks half the time than having to deal with inmersive trolls.

Not only was it difficult to find the fully immersed survivor, but let's not forget about the Hatch Standoff:tm:. A survivor and a killer would sit on the Hatch, staring at each other. Doing nothing but watching, waiting for the other to get bored.
If the survivor were to jump, the killer could grab. Were the killer to hit, the survivor could jump.
It was genuinely atrocious and I think Marth was in a Standoff for over 2 hours lol.
Yeah standoffs were a problem, I was in one for 25 minutes once (on my defense that Killer facecamped 2 guys) I was just clarifying to him why Hatch got into the game in the begining, it wasnt to give a way out if both doors spawmed close but to avoid all that wall of text I posted.
-
If you are seeing the Killer every time a gen gets done and are the Obssesion you are warned you can get your butt busted the very moment the last gen pops and you can anticipate it by getting far away from the action once the 5º gen is about to pop.

Probably to stop the killer from taking the game hostage if the gates were right next to each other
Back in the days there was no EGC and once there was only 1 person left IF the team had completed 2 generators or more the Hatch would spawn, also it couldnt be closed.
Now if there was no hatch and the only thing left for the last 1 was to fix any number of gens (which is almost impossible) nothing would stop the last Survivor to go full inmersion until the Killer found him or decided to quit, finding a full inmersion Survivor can take A LOT of time, we are talking about 45 minutes so they put the hatch to give the last Survivor an objective and to avoid a situation where a side cant realistcally win and its only chance is to troll the other out of the game with a DC.
-
Very bad, only useful if the Killer is not chasing someone, decides to go after the gen you finished and he is less than 10 seconds away (in which case he will probably see you anyway) or if he is chasing you, you LoS and a gen pops in that moment.
Too situational to be worth of anything, if you want to hide your marks better use Dance With Me or Lightweight.

Oof, what's with these recent posts assuming Survivors just want to dick over Killers? I know the asymmetrical nature of the game puts both sides objectives at odds, but that doesn't mean the player mentality has to be "Hey, ######### the other side!"
Are there players who troll around and do things that make the experience less enjoyable for someone else? Yes, of course, but don't let that assumption override your mindset. Not every Survivor player is a small PP build with keys, flashlights, and BNP, just as how not every Killer player is a Stridor Spirit with an ebony mori. Don't go into each match thinking you have to go tryhard because the other side is out to make you miserable. All that does is run the risk of turning you into the killjoy.
Play how you want, it's your game, but don't get so worked up into thinking you have to sweat each match because the Survivors might dick you around. It'll sap any drop of enjoyment out of you.
Recent?! Killers have been using the "Survivor bad, Killer good" narrative since I started playing this game back in 2018...

I think the survivors would believe the pallets would stun him, considering they've stunned every other killer the survivors threw them at in the past. In fact, Pennywise would basically be forced to play by the Entity's rules because that's how the survivors believe things work.
It would still destroy the character, IT is more about supranatural horror and fear at a psychological level than just something slashing people around because reasons.
Also stuff works on IT because people overcome their fears AND believe it will work, not only because they believe it will work and once you overcome your fear of IT he is pretty much defenseless its not as simple as "I believe this pallet will stun him so it will" is more as "I have grown over my primal fear, so I dont fear this abomination anymore, for the source of ITs power no longer IT cant harm me, in fact now that he can harm me no more the hunter has become the hunted".
Also, the power would be extremely hard to develop gameplay wise, IT itself is just a huge beast (and they wont put something as big) its power is pretty much stalking people and sending mirages to make them extremely fearful and paranoid, usually using weak minded individuals to harass them, how can you implement that ingame? interactable stuff like PH is not that good and engaging (a lot of PHs dont even use the trails for they dont really have much of a purpose outside of faster hooks) and no, mind controling another Survivor isnt a good idea so cross that tought.

I dont know... getting to save the facecamped hooked person who didnt give up so we could finish all 5 gens when he is about to die and managing to get everyone to the Exit Gates is damn sweet (bonus points if there are instances of MoM, BT and Autodidact super fast heal involved).

You're talking about the same character who was wounded by an inhaler right? So an inhaler to face is perfectly believable, but slamming down a pallet should do nothing? Weird place to draw the line.
What damages IT in that instance is the lack of fear of the assailant and the belief on his part the object would harm IT not the inhaler itself (the kid believed it was acid and extremely harmful so his beliefs made it manifest), the same when the kids used silver which they believed harms mystical creatures.
IT works a lot like WH40k Orkz in the sense if enough people believe something is harmful and feel no fear they can actually damage IT using wathever.

Seriously, its not hard at all.
The reveal mechanic works sometimes, Ive been reveleaded by people half across the map behind walls and people have not revealed me even by looking directly at me at 15 meters, several of this instances confirmed by the Survivors themselves on postchat.
Its extremely bugged and has always been.

This is kinda my issue, and it's kinda why I hate talking about adding licensed killers for lore-wise. If they add Nemesis in a way it will be a downgrade to what made this monster scary then, and I honestly don't want to see that, in fact, a literal punch from Nemesis should knock someone unconscious. That's why I want Jack Baker or Mr.X they are the most logical, and it probably best since it won't cause as much controversy, but if they decide Nemesis then they decide Nemesis. But I won't be too happy if they add Pennywise, because then, that makes The Entity... A mary sue and I hate it for it makes boring characters and lore. However, I will say this... If Pennywise was to ever make an appearance in this game, he has to be the entity, and honestly, I strangely think he is the entity.
In my opinion IT would only work as a new master for a diferent gamemode, more centered about jumpscares than action like we have now and I mean a master as in a diferent gamemode where IT takes the role of The Entity as a NPC and players keep playing regular Killers and Survivors.
Sure they can downgrade IT and make it a regular Killer and slave to something more powerful but I think that would look atrocious and it would be adding a license for the sake of adding a license, no ofense to the rest of the posters but I believe people who want certain licenses and dont care about having a watered-down extremely weaker version of said license dont really understand those characters and what made them scary in the first place.
Myers is scary because he is a human (at least in 1978 film, the rest are just exploitative trash except 2018), what makes him scary is the fact you can actually find someone like him in real life, its his "normalcy", it makes sense he can be put in this game and have weaknesses like being ruled by an eldritch abomination and have his human body as a limit (btw we had a Killer in my country that was psychologically speaking pretty much Myers 2.0, absolute 0 empathy and could only feel anything while murdering, he was so dangerous they used a legal loophole to sentence him to life-no parole when we didnt have life sentences).
What made IT scary is its a god hellbent of scaring you to death and eating you, a god who could only be stopped by a dark and old ritual that could turn you insane if you failed, not by 300 kgs of wooden planks, once you get rid of that sense of overwhelming power IT is just a clown poking jumpscares ar you.

Survivors are not worth getting even with shards since most of their perks are rubbish and they all play the same, unless their character model appeals to you is better to save the shards for the Shrine.

This is a bit of offtopic but since a lot of times people discuss extremely powerful or eldritch beings as potential Killers this it always comes into play, people misunderstand how hard and durable pallets are in real life, especially when as thick as the ones we have in this game, real life pallets are constructed by nailing wooden planks to wooden beams, they have a lot of empty space, what we have looks very solid, more of a bunch of planks tied and nailed together with almost no air in between, making them much heavier and potentially much much more durable.
I work in an oil refinery and we use pallets to avoid putting heavy machinery on direct contact with the ground to avoid humidity and dirt, those things can be loaded with a couple of tons of steel machinery without even flinching as long as they have enough surface to rest in more than 2 wooden planks and they rest on top of one of the strong interior beams, old pallets that the repair teams forget must be disposed off, those things weight A LOT (and ours are probably lighter than what we have ingame) usually must be either pushed by 1 or lifted by 2 and to break those things we use hammers unless they are extremely old and starting to rot or dried after rotting, if thats the case the wooden planks can be smashed by kicking BUT the beams must always be broken with hammers, about throwing them is not that hard even by small people because you just need to unbalance them a bit for them to drop, thats the most realistic thing about pallets in this game.
Onto the topic, I can perfectly picture anyone in this game being stunned (or outright trapped under if of small and weak frame like Jigsaw, Hag or Nurse), even Oni or Trapper which are massive by human standards (but so are the pallets) but things like Nemesis and Mr X who can break concrete walls with their body and withstand an helicopter crashing into them, the Xenomorph which is bigger, stronger and more agile than any current Killer, Pinhead has more power than most of the cast combined, IT is more close to The Entity than to the Killers, I cant picture IT being dominated by The Entity and do its biding, for them to put such juggernauts they would have to make them increasingly weak compared to their original IP counterparts.
If you get Nemesis its not going to be that 3 meters mass of meat crashing around everywhere, breaking everything on its path, eating more bullets than a Hongkong film action hero, attacking with his bazooka and tentacles killing everything on sight, it would be the size of Trapper, with a ranged attack similar to what Pyramid Head has, who would get blinded by flashlights, bodyblocked by a conga line made of small chinese girls on pink rabbit hoodies and stunned by pallets, all of this while it gets streamed to the world while someone laughs at you, he would be pitiful compared to RE3 Nemesis.
P.D. something like Predator wouldnt make sense either mainly because Predator main thing is his ability to jump and stalk from trees while taking pot shots at unsuspecting prey, his game would be too vertical and this game has none of that and its not prepared either, also lorewise Predator only hunts strong prey not scared, weak and defenseless victims.

I'm sure that Ace, Zarina and Élodie were solely created to tap into their (I'm sure) massive playerbases in Argentina, Lebanon and Madagascar, and not because the writers had interesting ideas for characters from those locales.
Nope, it's 100% about trying to get demographs to play the game.
Ace was created well before the game become bigger and more marketable.
Zarina is from the middle east where there is huge market potential, look at all those games that have been including arabian-themed characters like Tekken and SFV attempting to cater to them, kudos to them for making a woman instead of a young male with short beard and a kufiya.
Elodie is just a token stereotyped black character with token haircut included (that lookalike design has been put into so many games and films lately that it looks like they use cookie moulds to make them...) also she was born and raised in Paris not Madagascar her parents are from there, I wish they had included another black person similar to Claudette or Adam, they feel more realistic and authentic than Elodie.

This has been done since the dawn of rankings in online gaming, in the ages of old in Starcraft you could just create a new account since accounts werent bound to your gamekey and bully newcomers (or get bullied by other smurfs).
