I went from 4 to 9, my brother stayed at 8. He's happy to be a higher rank than me for once. 😂
lolol. Well. Back to high rank games. Fortunately being the skilled player I am I always escape. (If you read the forums btw, <3 you again huntress)
-
Both the Blight and Huntress have a learning curve. I call them gimmick killers because they do more than your basic attack. On the upside, once you get really good with them you're a nightmare (especially huntress) but you have to be ready to see a sharp drop in performance for now. They can be fun, but as you've seen in previous games you can look really silly while practicing.
PTB usually takes forever to get matches, but I was under the impression PTB was PC only. Ah well.
You could just go old school and play Trapper. He's add on dependent but I like him. He's my tried and true.

Thank you guys for the ideas but did forget to mention only dlcs I have are darkness and lullaby. Honestly it will probably huntress because I think the blight is not good because it is just a feral frenzy speed buff, but still thank you. Ps heartbound I like the pokemon reference.

Smells like rank reset!
-
I've heard of jumping off the hook but that's getting a little ridiculous.
-
Yeah. I think a lot of people would benefit massively from just playing the game without sound. Listening for sounds like terror radius and such teach bad habits.
-
This pokemon could evolve in several different ways.
If speed stat is your favorite evolve into The Blight
If control is your favorite evolve into The Ghostface
If you're tired of people being out of range of your feral frenzy, evolve into Deathslinger or Huntress.

Interesting.
What specifically do they want me to do, though? Knock them down? Hook them? Just wound them and let them heal?
What gives the most BP?
Standard is hook all survivors twice (be sure not to sacrifice them, the salt may be funny but you'll miss out on bloodpoints) , smack them until your brutality is maxed out, while letting them heal between thwacks. Then go to every pallet on the map you can find (they should be following you) and let each survivor hit you ~8 times. Break the pallets for destruction points. One survivor should be willing to let you chase them for chase points. Likely the most experienced survivor. Chase him until your hunter emblem is maxed out.
If you have a killer that gets Deviousness on demand, max out your deviousness, survivors will generally help if it's stepping in a trap etc.
You can turn a 10k point serious game with d/c'd survivors into a 28k game REALLY easy. Survivors are human. They're there for score too. You can meme a bit but if you lose their trust they'll stop cooperating and you'll lose out on points.
-
Yeah if it's not a serious game then don't treat it like one. If me and all three/two survivors crouch walk towards you, focus on bloodpoints, not blood.
-
Nice. I think the perk is secretly one of those that help survivors because you know how you get a hit on someone and they're camping the pallet, and waste their sprint burst by slamming you with the pallet? With blood favor the pallet stays up and they just use their sprint burst.

I only dc as killer normally and mostly near end of the game(yea I know pointless)and out of rage.
Meh. At that point open the exit gates yourself and try to bodyblock someone in the trial. heh heh heh.
-
I don't, but that's because I've torn the game apart and all I see now is hitboxes, PoV, routes, tiles etc. My gameplay is very mechanical.
There's different types of horror though. Gore/body horror? I think playing on a map made of flesh might scare me. Entity juices and all that.
Shock horror? Dread? Eh. I dread Trapper traps and Hag catches you off guard if you hit a trap before you know who the killer is.
Midwich is nice for scares. The crying girl in one of the rooms is pretty atmosphere setting. Doesn't detract from the game and just has a lot of soul to it.
I think horror needs to come from the map itself. What if after you repaired a generator to a certain percent a painting on the wall fell down? What if things broke in game? I know this game can do it. The cow tree already does it. Cow go wiggle wiggle wiggle.
wiggle wiggle. much scare.
-
I use that on some of my killers. I expect ruin to go down at some point and use pop late game to compensate.
Now that Undying exist I'm kinda curious if it's worth letting pop go to sleep.

Spirit has facial animations, spirt and wraith just predated these times as they were unsure of the financial backing they'd have. this isnt cynical critique. its objective fact.
I gave them seven dollars a week ago. They should be set as far as financial backing goes.
-
Yes. I recommend Stake Out/Spine Chill so the sneaky beaky killers aren't so sneaky beaky.
-
I'm gonna be honest, I'm betting they wait until the new console comes out so they can link to it instead and save a lot of headaches.
-
Nah. If you're being used as bait just let go on hook. If the survivors are doing gens though stay alive to give them a better chance.
Can't win'em all, but you can make sure they don't win their game either.
-
Mine goes on a scale. At Rank 1? Rank 1 Huntress that knows what she's doing. That is the worst.
At yellow/green/purple? Pig. Being tunneled with an active trap is the worst feeling. It doesn't matter if you hold her the entire game, you still need to get the trap off. You either have to play perfect and never go down for 5 gens or let someone else loop her. (Don't do that. They'll go down.)
In general? Doctor. Oh no he knows where you are end of the world oohhh aahhh.
No. He's always on someone and if you decide to be spicy and run calm spirit guess who he's going after with a higher priority? You. Sure 99% of the time he's just an M1 killer but uuuuugggghhhh.
He's ugly too.
-
To answer the window is faster. However if the survivor is being optimal he'll crawl towards the pallet. You need to swing around the outside and look for a survivor going for the rescue before you pick up the downed survivor.
But if you're quick on that vault the downed survivor won't make it to the pallet.
-
I never camp, and that's for two reasons.
I have a really short attention span in game and because of the perk discordance, or thrilling tremors if I'm on Deathslinger. I'm also the kind of person that frequently runs Devour Hope.
The millisecond I hook the survivor I'm gone, but you'd better be ready if you unhook the survivor before I get far enough away because I swear to god I will turn this killer around and make you pay for it.
-
Lol, just pick a map and let a constant stream of survivors load in until a group of 4 manage to escape. Gens completed stay completed. It's killer survival playing for the high score.
-
Most of her cosmetics are cute so it's always a + to eye candy. I've never been sandbagged by a Kate or seen one play terribly. It's like picking Peach in Super Smash Bros/Mario Party.
-
Legend has it that the ultimate clicky clicky flashlight survivor unknowingly played a dev and performed four flashlight saves, Decisive/Head on comboed him and teabagged the dev at the exit gate.
The next day flashlights got changed and decisive no longer works.
Of course, it's only a legend.
-
He got overbuffed and his main game is M1 with pallet/snare gimmicks so he's really easy to play now.
Gotta feel like the power role somehow right?
-
Wait no. Plague starts with a blood pool or two at the start of every match now. It used to be sure you could deny her power, but now you're asking for multi-down red kool-aid spray if you don't cleanse.
Of course you could always pallet slam the plague or Head On stun her to stop the kool aid. Kool aid man don't like stuns.
-
It's cute. I like the entire Octoberfest collection but I don't really play the character's they used.
If I get enough Iri shards I want October Meg head.
-
Wraith a stinky. I do not have the attention span to be looking for that shimmer all game.
-
I'd be for it if it also gave the endurance buff. As someone that seemingly does a professional job at unhooking myself in front of the killer, they just smack you again.
Just give me enough of a sprint burst to run to a pallet and at least I can get a chance to play the game lol

Look, I feel you @Heartbound but that just sounds sexist. Can we at least make sure we're supporting our male survivors? Maybe a 'Save the Wang' campaign??? ❤
Wangs do need a lot of support. However I don't think we have any cosmetics (yet) that accentuate the power of masculinity. Equal rights and all that, of course. Women do play the game too after all. Heh heh.
-
I mean I like the idea of a DC penalty, but the killer gets a Quitter Bonus at the end of the match and survivors get 600 blood points a piece. It's not like it's a complete loss when it happens.
Hatch game hatch game hatch game. Just fix the reasons behind the d/c fam.
-
This no joke the most important issue in the game right now. It must be fixed as soon as possible.
For all Kate and Jane mains everywhere. When I see your character working with me on a generator if they don't bounce I get distracted by the killer's terror radius. Stop denying killers grabs. Fix the boobies.

Fun killer is the way to go btw. Some people listen for survivor sounds. For generators making noises.
Me:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya5Hg6cjlQo -
I play as a solo survivor because I'm really whimsical on when I'll actually log in. Survivors can get really, really strong, but your main base of operations are the tiles. Don't run into open fields with nothing. If given a choice between an open field and a structure, always choose the structure. Open field is guaranteed down. Structures give you wiggle room in this game.
Besides, just focus on bloodpoint harvesting. Rank reset is in one day and you're going to get a wild variety of players and the killers are going to chew up a lot of them. It's the wild west every month in this game from the 13th to the 20th.
Dying means literally nothing. Make your own goals.
-
I think killer is easier to start with compared to survivor. You can actually explore the maps as killer without pressure (and occasionally find someone on accident too)
So there's 7 generators on the map right? Use those as a general guideline (protip: Survivors generally spawn away from you) and just walk around the map until you find a survivor. It's pretty rare that it's worth it to vault a window, so just go around it. Breaking pallets generally makes the area more dangerous for the survivor.
You'll catch someone, but I wouldn't recommend hanging around the hook. Go back to patrols. If you're near-ish when the save happens, go after the unhooked person. Why? The injured person has to go heal so they'll be off generators for a while, and it avoids some obnoxious perks that come into play that way.
Take down the new survivor, rinse and repeat until you break their team and they die or they escape. Don't worry about it if they all escape. It happens to the best killers out there. What you should worry about is bloodpoints though. Always be doing something that generates bloodpoints. That's how you buy better equipment for your killers.
-
Every time you hit someone on the hook it lets other survivors know its safe to do gens.
The only time it's social acceptable to hit a survivor on the hook is when you first hook them and they're screaming. It makes them shut up.
After that it's just boring. You can't even get any upshirts or cute booty shots or anything in this game. Go chase someone else.
-
I do feel like the game left Myers behind, which is kinda sad because he was the first licensed character.
The Shape needs some love. Same with Demogorgon.
-
We're getting all the octaves in this thread
-
Guess you won't expect this either. I found your cousin. His name's Holler.
-
It prevents you from playing an offering that gives you more bloodpoints.
But yeah. I guess in theory it could counter Lerys Scratched Mirror Myers or Distressing Doc on The Game but meh.
-
I'd drop survivor at first and play killer. I started as a killer and it showed me what survivors do in order to survive.
You don't have to really play well as a newbie killer, you're playing against newbie survivors. Watch what they do. See what works and what doesn't. Take them out and win a few games.
Then you can either take the bloodpoints you get from killer (you get more playing killer on average btw) and either level up your survivors and get teachables at level 30, 35 and 40 and make a good build or toss those points on a killer you like.
Out of the base five I recommend Trapper. The other ones are okay but they play different and the moves you learn on Trapper can be applied to any M1 killer while chainsaws and stealth plays can only be used on that specific killer. Plus catching someone in a bear trap is satisfying.
Just worry about bloodpoints. I could be a god survivor and hold the killer for 10 minutes but if my team doesn't do gens then it's all for nothing. Surviving is a team effort. You just have to try and be part of that team.
Give it time.
-
Toxic survivor here. It may be counter-intuitive but taunt the killer. Press 2 to do the "Come here" motion and run the killer around a safe loop once or twice and pallet slam him. They'll generally take that to mean that you want to be chased and leave you alone.
But I mean if he does wanna tunnel after you pallet slam him once or twice, all the pallets are still up. Take him on a tour of the place. If you get hooked and he tunnels you again right after though I'd plug pull, but that's just me.
-
Kindred in yellow/green ranks, Bond in Purple/Red
In purple and red someone's gonna pull you off that hook for the bloodpoints/emblem credit. SOMEONE is coming. Trust me.
Plus Bond is important for not running the killer into your team. When you see their auras turn away a bit so they can keep working on their generator in peace. (Or if you're Satan pawn the killer off on them, but don't do that. Only villains do that and it can keep the exit gates closed.)
-
If anything this issue is proof Devs play their game. See one of them decided they wanted to play killer and got a clicky clicky boi that DS'd him.
Suddenly Decisive Strike isn't working and the flashlight timing has been changed again.
Look I'm not pointing fingers but coincidence? I think not.
-
If they had bots my reasons for rage quits would kinda lose their bite. The entire point is that I don't like how they're playing and I'd rather gift my team 600 sweet points a piece than give the killer the hook.
I don't rage quit often, but personally I don't think it's a bad thing. See, they went with the time out method for rage quitting, but what if it cost like 5k bloodpoints to quit the match? (or bring you down to zero if you can't afford it) You wouldn't be able to progress your characters until you started toughing matches out.
I'd still definitely pay the penalty because some people deserve to suffer for being jerks but I'd probably be more sparing about it. Is this 5k bloodpoints worth of angy or is this just minor angy?

How exactly do you define "a lot"?
Hmm.
Generally I would say seven taps on the left ctrl key to signify dominance, followed by turning your camera while repeatedly clicking your flashlight at least seven or eight times. Nine if you're feeling generous. Then repeating the process followed by a long crouch and tilting your camera up and down.
That would be a generous amount of teabags and clicks. Any more and you risk overdoing it. The balance is something we can all appreciate in our endeavors in the fog.

How exactly do you define "wrong"?
With a lot of teabagging and flashlight clicking usually.
