Why not, DBD is a PC game ported to console anyway

You ask "Why not" in this community? 100% someone will come and say "No that's unfair cuz they will have advantage over controller players".
And if you argue that mouse+keyboard players will be separated from controller players they will find any other excuse like "but lobby times will be longer blablabla"

Jokes aside, I personally thing this support will be great and would probably be the first babystep towards crossplay
  • So basically you want people to not unhook teammates and let them die? because non SWF will do just that

It's always smarter to bait the killer away from the unhooked guy, this is buying more time for the whole team. But many (stupid) survivors unhook and hide asap and leave the injured mate to be an easy prey for the killer.

It's "a choice" in the same way that holding a gun to someone's head and telling them to do something or you'll shoot them is giving them "a choice", but in common terminology, it's definitely not always a choice.

It is certainly a choice. You do not have to go after that injured recently unhooked survivor. It is the smart choice, but still a choice. You do not have to tunnel. You can still pip easily not tunneling. But tunneling makes removing survivors quicker from the game.

If that's the only survivor you see, it's not really a choice. See the gun to the head example.

Exactly and my idea would at least give those killers who don't want to tunnel without loosing the match a tool to do so.

Yeah, you are never forced to tunnel if you don't care to win or lose. But if you want to win and you only see the unhooked guy you are forced to go for him instead of ignoring him and searching for someone who could be stealthy af.

Unless you can explain how you can use your M2 ability to apply map pressure and travel from gen to gen on this map and not just play an M1 killer I can't take you serious. There is nothing to practice, it's just playing smartly an M1 killer. But if I want to play a simple M1 killer I don't pick billy, smh

Then try a different playstyle. Survivors don't want to play vs Doctor on the game map, but should everyone instantly D/C just because they are whiny kids without skills? You tell me.

I am both killer & survivor. So no i am not a salty survivor. I can't express my hate towards Rotten Fields enough but yeah, just try a bit harder.

Why should I try a different playstyle? I don't really get point you are trying to make, I pick billy cuz I like to use his M2 ability to travel around the map (+ the addition insta down obviously).

And yes, there is nothing more boring and annoying than a hostage doctor on the game map, I don't judge anyone who DCs against that, because it's a terrible design and has nothing to do with skill.

Ok then let me ask u this and please answer honestly what if someone used a offering to get that map do u say f you and waste it?

If someone uses Lery's while I picked billy? Yes, as Billy I dodge it, with any other killer I play it. I'm completely honest to that, I'm pretty egoistic to this point. I play the game for my enjoyment. Not that I don't care at all about the enjoyment of my opponents, but MY enjoyment stand above others.
Any other questions u want to get answered with pure honesty?

So your the guy who gets hit and dc yes and the guy who if 2 gens get done u leave? Or if u see noed or ds u just dc ? Cause u can. As a wraith main I hate 🌽 but I don’t just leave.and while I wanna say ty for your honesty(and really most wouldn’t be honest) your no better then a 1st hit down survivor that dcs.

I never DC midgame, I always commit till to the end once I started. I never DC as survivor cuz this is destroying the whole match for everyone. As killer, I only dc at the above mentioned situations. Noone is really hurt and the survivors can move on to the next game.
Anything else you want to know?
  • I dont know what they did but it sounds better

The only way to stop tunnelling is to increase the length of the average game so killers don't feel like they need to tunnel to have a chance. If killers could play more casually without getting curb stomped by the game's current imbalance they would.

Yeah I agree on this, my idea is more likely for those killers who don't want to tunnel in certain situations (cuz they are in a good position). Obviously, to reduce the need of tunnel in many situations some other changes has to take place. My idea is more likely a little "hotfix" and not the best solution.
  • I was a pure survivor main at release, became a killer main around 2017 and now I play both sides pretty equally.

I empathise more with killers because I know how busted it can be to verse good survivors on certain maps, I always feel bad if I run a killer for 5 gens. Especially if he used all tools given but doesn't have a chance to catch me and my mates are Genrushing him to death.
  • Paddy4583 said:
I know it sucks, but really going for the weakest player that doesn’t have 2 hits to loop through is sometimes the strongest game play a killer can do, and it makes sense.
Yeah as I said, sometimes you have to tunnel someone down to get rid of him (especially if you have 4 survivors with one or 2 gens left) but sometimes you are in a good position and sometimes you apply more pressure by leaving that injured guy wasting time healing.
As I said, it's more an idea to give me more help not tunnel if I really don't want to. I had a lot if situations when I only see the injured poor guy and the unhooker is hiding somewhere... Maybe removing the notification bubble could help aswell to spot the unhooker better
  • No I dont see this working. People would run Make Your Choice 100% more often. There really is no way to stop a killer from chasing the guy they want to kill.
Hmm, yeah I see.. But you need a distance to activate MYC, so it's not 100% a free down. It should just motivate the killer more to go for unhooker, especially if you don't want to tunnel but don't know where he is and only see the recently hooked guy
  • Nope the only reason to dodge is a really bad ping, anything else is cherry picking a match and not giving the devs the stats they need to see if they nees to rework certain things.
Well, it's a valid point. But keep in mind that we "cherrypicked" the game called DbD to have fun, so obviously people play to have fun and not... To suffer unfun matches.
I mean, why playing billy if you get a map like Lery's where you can't really use your M2 ability? Or huntress on Rottenfields where you are slow af and can't see ######### in the corn? Not really a fun experience or is it.
It's all part of the game, it's not fun to be flashlighted at every pallet, camped, gen rushed, tunnelled, ds'd, dribbled, Insta heal, moried but if everyone had the right to dodge for every little thing they disliked there would be no matches left to play.

If it's part of the game it's fair to use is my opinion it may not always be balanced and always fun but it is what it is.

Change can't happen if we don't play and show them how it is.
Yeah I agree with you, it's just like... Why should I suffer the entire match if I could just hit esc+leave match and search a new one and enjoy it? You get what I mean? If devs would actively adjust maps so you can use M2 ability properly with every killer, I would take the suffer till the patches come live. But as far as I know they don't plan adjusting the maps. And it's even worse of you get a certain map you absolutly dislike several times in a row.

Any killer can perform properly on any map my guy. It's just about playing smart. You know that saying work smarter not harder?

Everytime you dodge or dc you're litterally just screwing yourself out of experience. Like for example, I used to haaaate playing on The Game. But through countless countless losses ive finally gotten really good at that map. Its honestly one of my favorites now. You've gotta hate something before you can love it.
Read carefully my friend. My question was: Why should I play billy if I'm going to play M1 all time? I want to play billy cuz its fun to cruze around the map at high speed, don't you get it? I can still win on lerrys, but was it fun? Not when really, when my intention was to play billy to use M2 most if the time.
Then use your m2. Nothing is stopping you but you. Get good at using it in a more controlled manor and I guarantee you'll learn to have more fun with him and have more control with him, on that map and on other maps because of it.
It's not fun to use M2 on Lery's if you bump into walls all 10 meters. You know as good as me it's not possible (unless you M2 around the corners of the map, but survivors aren't there anyway).
I'm just saying, I don't enjoy Lery's as Billy. And it has really nothing to do that it's difficult, cuz I don't have an issue playing nurse on Lerys and that's damn hard. The reason I dont have an issue as Nurse is because I have FUN using M2 all time and blindly predicting survivors behind several walls.
    Thanks anyway tho

I'd love to see it do more, personally. I don't know how well an automated system could work because people would find a way to abuse it and farm props, but they're already tracked and we can check them just like reports. I think it would be neat to have some sort of rewards for people who do nice things, like teaching a new player how the game works. Maybe a bunch of shards or something. I'm a firm believer that positive reinforcement is just as important as getting rid of the bad apples.

Incorrect. You do get a slight higher % chance of getting more rares, very rares, and ultra rares and less commons and uncommons in your blood web.

    So more grind...

Yeah you would think this game was f2p with all this grinding hehe.

The extra "grind" you're talking about is literally like a couple hours worth of bloodpoints. I can get a p3 lvl 50 character in one week if I have a killer with BBQ and survivor puddings.

Exactly, it's not that crazy. I p3'ed 4 Killers and 2 survivors (all between p0 lvl 1-50) during the winter event. I usually wait for double BP events to prestige my characters, it's the fastest way to get them back to lvl 50 and all perks
  • Just learn nurse and you don't have to dodge anything
  • I'm going to finish it today aswell, 200 points left for the last coin. I would have probably finished it yesterday or even 2 days ago if the DCs to deny latern points wouldn't have happened that often.
  • Its a good change, I'm getting now more points than its possible as survivor (56 points if I remember correctly) and my average points are around 40 as killer now. I like the change, it's a really good step to the right direction.
  • I saw a clip from HybridPanda where Ochido sent a Twitch message to Matthieu as he was playing online. Mattheiu quite rightly suggested it was inappriopriate.

However, this makes me want to see a grudge match!

Lets make this happen. What should the terms be? Ochido as Killer? Mattheiu picking his dream survivor team?

Would you want to watch it?

What clip? Can you provide a link?
  • The deadzone around pale rose was already in 2.4 there tho, but not_Queen confirmed a fix so that's great (yaay, finally I don't have to DC on this map if I play nurse).

@not_Queen I have a question, is the blink deadzone around the small house (not shack) on mothers dwelling logged?
Also I can confirm to you that Lerys is completely fixed, I haven't encountered a single deadzone for months

So you suggestion is to make if even more survivor sided?

No, the 45+ points exists already, if the killer dc's in the loading screen you get 45 points, if survivors dc n mid-match killer should get all there points

So if anyone DCs, everybody remaining gets all points?

You do realize that this can be easily abused by SWF?

No, if survivors DC the killer gets points and if the killer DC the survivors get points. You can't abuse that unless the killer knows you and you are friends. But how often does this happen? The matchmaking gave me one single time someone into my lobby who is in my friendlist

There is an advantage yes, but it's very low in DbD compared to other games. Other games are doing that aswell and the control mechanics are way more complex than in dbd.

Furthermore, m+kb support is already announced for xbox and there are already verified hardware to use it, it's just a matter of time till Sony will do the same.

Also, every game with crossplay ability has the option for the individual to decide if he wants to use this feature, same would be with DbD.

No, I just said it's unlikely (my opinion) because keyboard and mouse provide a big advantage (a fact). The advantage inherent to keyboard and mouse has little to do with the complexity of the controls, but rather precision and sensitivity.

Erase "big" and we are good.
Precision? Learn to aim, any shooter requires more precision than DbD.
Sensitivity? An issue that the devs could fix with 1 line of coding (but somehow still refuse to change it).
  • This idea will probably be reality after the release of dedicated servers, maybe a dev will give us some information if that is planned on their list for the future.
@not_Queen is this issue a topic in the team, do you have any information you can share with us?

They added second objectives in a past event. The survival rate dropped below 30%.

    That was flawed though.

The reason why survivor rate dropped below 30% was because survivors purposefully killed themselves on the hooks to get the event serum and play the next round.

Bloodpoint wise, they weren't doing terrible either. As far as I remember, if you burned an offering and people got all the serums, you would get around 15-25k in a minute.

    Secondary objectives are still needed.

Exactly, it was the fasted way to get the vials asap, suicide on hook and move on to the next game. Nearly everyone did it, I'm not proud about it but I did it by myself to get my last few vials filled

  • Wrong.

  • I really get insulted for not respecting the 4% aswell (btw I don't believe it's 4% anymore, the amount of kobes I get in my killer matches feels more like 25%. WIthout deliverance btw).
I personally don't follow made up survivor rules because they don't follow any rules.

I doubt they will change it, no matter how bad we want it changed back
