I would be very interested to see if BHVR would buy the rights from King to do their own designs for IT, or if they would borrow the likeness from the movies.
My guess is they would use the movie likeness

License needs to be at least 5 years old, otherwise it doesn't feel genuine.
I think Stranger Things was acquired a little too soon, and that is in part why BHVR lost the IP for a period of time.
If it feels like BHVR (or any game studio) is just trying to jump on a trend for their own gain, it devalues that content. In an effort to create something truly timeless, I believe it is important to let IP's exist on their own for a period of time, so that the collaboration feels like one of mutual appreciation.
Ideally, both parties are choosing to come together not just for monetary gain, but because they both truly believe that they can add value to one another through the partnership.
Well at this point, a quiet place, outlast, amnesia, the IT movies, have all been around for more than 5 years, with a quiet place approaching its 6th birthday. Other licenses that come to mind include the conjuring and insidious. So I still feel like there's a good amount of license they could add, even with a self imposed 5 year rule.

I would be hyped if they ever did a full Until Dawn chapter and a full Quiet Place chapter (although tbh the monsters from both could be legendary skins of each other XD).
...Well, I would be hyped if gen-defense wasn't kneecapped for weaker/M1 Killers and decent squads weren't able to purposefully get one gen at low regression events then keep it for the end for a free endgame.
I do eventually want a killer that relies more on sound than sight one day

Little Nightmares would be fun.
I think there wouldn't be a survivor due to the game's protagonists being children, but overall I think it would be a good fit for DBD.
We did almost get a killer called "The Teacher", didn't we? A Little Nightmares Chapter would be a perfect opportunity to make that happen.
While little nightmares would be fun, I wouldn't really want it in dbd because of how the the protagonists size affects the atmosphere and gameplay of the franchise. It's kind of what makes the games what they are

I want to make something clear. I was using window's before the cooldown even got removed

I can't think of much modern horror that interests me at all, and even less that would fit well into DbD's formula.
With the addition of Ringu, I feel like a good amount of horror movies that couldn't fit in dbd are now fair game

Technically BHVR could add Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh without having to go through any trouble now since they're both public domain.

Yes, I took time to pull up someone's stream so I could be nice to them after they had a rough match. You make that sound much more sinister than it actually was.
I said "GG. Sorry you got a map that sucks for Huntress. I hope you have a good evening". If someone offers to shake your hand and you spit in their face, your behaviour is rotten, regardless of what excuses you come up with.
They're not making it sound more sinister than it actually was. They're probably saying exactly how the streamer felt. Keep in mind, there's no way to tell if someone is being sarcastic or genuine online. And considering human nature, it's much more realistic to expect the worst of somebody

We found a lot of maps to have more unsafe pallets than safe pallets.
Some maps are different, like Garden or The Game. A lot of the Colwind, Mac or some Autohaven maps have more unsafe than safe.
Hold on we have to clear something up. What is a safe vs unsafe pallet to you? Because I think you and I have different definitions of those.

I know I'm not playing it how you probably are intended to but it seems overwhelmingly killer-sided. Any killer can get grabs much easier, Ghostie can expose you much easier, Bubba can be right on top of you before you even know he's there.
Do killers really get that many grabs? When I played, people let the killer get close, but not THAT close
-
@CountOfTheFog said:
The only thing I dislike is how long the matches go on. I understand why but there comes a moment around the 25 minute mark where you just want the next match
Do the matches really go on that long. I feel like even just walking around and randomly bumping into people would eventually end before that.

I've really enjoyed it as well and have been lucky enough to not deal with all the tunneling/camping that so many others seem to be.
As a survivor, I love the aspect of never knowing if I'm safe or not (short of someone else being in a chase but even then, you never know when the survivor might accidentally bring the killer right to you). Some killers certainly could use some tweaking but overall I'm happy with it.
I've only played the one game as a killer (Demodoggo!) and I had lots of fun with it. Not having scratch marks really puts my tracking talents as a killer to the test and frankly, it's just fun to sneak up on survivors.
I'd love for them to keep the mode but alas, it sounds like that is not meant to be. Hopefully it can come back a time or two in the future as they start dinking around with more of these modifier gametypes.
At this point they should just slap the modifiers in a cycler, because a lot of them sound fun.
-
In terms of what I consider toxicity, I see as much toxicity as I see in a day of dbd in a single game of cod
-
Neither in my experience. I win around every 5/10 matches most of the time, and this can change on some days but it's not a huge change
According to stats, slightly killer sided.

which is absurd
I'll have a killer on video humping me under a hook til I bleed out and will get the usual 'slugging is not a bannable offense' ok but I think this beyond slugging, it's just flat out griefing and keeping me hostage
bhvr has bots for support who read the same prompt
Yeah but here the killer isn't even bleeding them out. He just knocked all four of them down then went back and hooked them
-
Since I got mine, which was ringu, I'll say my friends
One wants IT
One wants Fnaf
One wants Outlast
If I had to pick another one I would want it would probably be The Crooked Man. Which isn't technically a license
-
I disagree, but not for the reasons anyone would probably expect.
NoED is a key part of endgame builds, and is the perk that gives endgame builds their viability in the first place. If you got rid of noed, most if not all endgame builds would be rendered useless

I have proposed a 2nd solution too though: removing DC penalties against these 2. Most players are not comp and don't know all the best strats against the Nurse. If they face a Nurse that they cannot loop for more than 10 seconds, what do you think they will do?
Either DC (which does leave a bot behind, but the penalty makes this an unwanted option), or give up on hook (no penalty yay, but there is no bot left behind either, to help the teammates).
With DC penalties off (at least for Nurse/Blight), people who can't do anything against them (if the Nurse/Blight is really good and downs in 10 seconds) can just go next and not feel too frustrated. The teammates left will still have bots to help them, AND people who do enjoy versing really good Nurses and Blights and are prepped with training and knowledge can stay and loop them.
Doesn't that sound like a really good idea? A scenario where everyone wins. Giving up on hook ruins things for everyone. DC-ing with no penalties would make everything better for everyone now that we have bots. (I am not! encouraging DC-ing, just saying what people already tend to do a lot). No DC penalties would make more people leave behind a bot (helpful to the team!), vs giving up on hook that leaves no help behind. That's what I'm talking about.
No, that's not a good idea.
First, removing the DC penalty in any capacity is a bad idea. If you've been around any time DC penalties were turned off you would know this.
Second, this would be incredibly unfair to the people who play Nurse and Blight. The killer player wants to play against real people, not against bots because of people who give up instantly. And you agreed when you clicked that ready button, you were willing to play a match out, even if it was against something that you found unfun. If you're not willing to play against certain stuff in the game, don't click the ready button.
Third, this would be the equivalent of turning the DC penalty for killers off against 4-man swfs. They have the potential to make the game unfun for killers, so why should the killer player be required to play a game where they will be frustrated? And not every Blight and Nurse is going to be a sweaty comp player going on a streak, just like not every 4-man is seal team 6. Actually, considering Nurse's kill rates, you're more likely to go against someone who is trying to learn Nurse or who doesn't know how to play Nurse. Why should people be allowed to DC against them when they're just trying to learn how to play a killer? If they get placed against bots, it's going to be no fun for them and they may never actually learn how to get good with the killer because bots don't play anything like people.
So no, your idea where "everyone wins" is actually only a scenario where survivors win. If you disable the DC penalty, the odds of the killer getting a match where all survivors play the whole game is slim to none.

What’s Dead Realm and Level Zero?
also gonna mention Home Sweet Home: Survive, Propnight and Identity V just to get a full list 🙃
Dead realm was actually an asymmetrical game that came out before dbd I believe, where one person plays as a ghost and X amount of people would play as survivor. It had a few different game modes, and was much more hide and seek based then dbd. There was literally a timer where survivors could move around the map and hide before ghost ghost was released.
Level Zero is pretty much alien isolation meets dbd: https://youtu.be/ET4c6Na06sQ?si=d_gZ0If5iiCqDZLe
-
Fat chance of that happening. Let's see
Friday the 13th
Evil Dead the Game
Last Year
VHS
Charlie the legend
White noise
Dead realm
Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed
All of those are dead or very close to it
TCM
Project Playtime
Barely keeping up at all and specialized towards their audiences, especially the second one.
Carnival Hunt
Killer Klowns
Level zero.
All claimed they would have done something by now, whether that was release or launch a beta of some kind. They did not

Yeah, it's the season of giving, so let's take nurse and blight from the people who enjoy playing as and against them.

Not everyone plays nurse and she's objectively the best killer I'm just spitballing ideas because currently there's no point in playing more than one survivor
The difference is in the asymmetry of the game. The nurse is one of if not the hardest killers, which is why not many play her.
Compare that to survivors who all have the exact gameplay, by giving survivors abilities, everyone's just going to jump to the most powerful one because playing one survivor is not harder than playing another survivor, unlike killers
-
Why not just get the grim reaper as a killer

If you're taking away basement, you'll have to remove killer shack as well. For maps that don't have a shack you'll need to remove one of the strong loops.
The reason basement is so powerful for killers is because it almost always spawns at one's of the survivors most powerful loops (killer shack in most cases)

This might sound mean, but "accessibility" and "muh bad monitor" is not a reason to cheat.
Just ask for the accessibility options you want, don't modify the game and cheat.
Just go out and buy a new monitor. And before anyone goes "not everyone can afford to just go get a monitor!" That's your problem, and it doesn't give you a pass to cheat.
People have been asking for accessibility changes for upwards of seven years now, and we've barely gotten anything

I highly doubt you're going against 4-man swf every game. And even if you are, that doesn't automatically mean you're going against sweats who are going to stomp you

The Power of Ghost Realm sounds interesting - a little like two game modes whereby one is the tradituonal DBD experience and the second is hide n' seek. I like this idea of switching game modes and the recent Halloween Event proves the viability of a secondary arena, so this would definitely be an interesting power.
Scourge Hook: Room for One More has me in two minds. On the one hand it's a unique take, but on the other hand this is a camper's dream. Maybe if, by hooking 2 on the same Hook, a Survivor unhooking would unhook both at the same time may counter this a bit, but this feels a bit too much like an ideal camping tool, which is one of the least interesting aspects of the game for me.
You'll Be Back sounds alright. It has a counter and the radius isn't too bad and ut's situatuonal, but has its use because the Basement is normally at strong Survivor points, so this acts as a protective area for Killer. A nice situational perk.
Hex: Surprise is my favourite perk. It's simple, useful and has an interesting counter which tells a Survivor where the perk is in effect, but may also make the Survivor worry is it's this Hex or the Killer. I like this one a lot!
Yeah, I will admit the camping aspect didn't really cross my mind.
I'm really proud of Hex: Surprise. I love being a sneaky snakey snake. That's probably my favorite too
-
@Astel said:
I couldn't understand first perk...
Other perks look cool though they might be situational.
First perk is: after a certain amount of time after placing a survivor on a scourge hook, you can place another survivor on that same hook. You can have multiple survivors hooked on the same hook simultaneously, pretty much. Probably more situational than the other two though
-
@jonifire said:
I want old dead hard back and they could easily balance it.
Just make the exhaustion longer maybe 60-80s.
That would've done nothing.
DH was almost never triggered twice in chase, and exhaustion immediately resets when a survivor is hooked. So the killer would still be dealing with at max, 12 on demand moments of invicibility that simultaneously provides a good deal of distance. So upping the cool down would not make DH less problematic than it was

yeah, the hook shouldn't respawn at all
assuming this is you being serious
there was a bug where the hooks wouldn't respawn after being broken by the perk. And once people found out about this bug, it was immediately used to make areas of maps complete hook deadzones. This led to it being completely impossible to hook survivors(unless the killer had iron grasp, agitation, or both) once enough hooks were broken, as survivors would purposely go down in areas with no hooks.
So no, the hooks NEED to respawn
