  • The problem with giving Survivors useful Perks is that they are useful. And then they get nerfed.

  • Pallets and windows are great...

    against the weakest Killers.

    Womp womp.

  • BBQ is still a heavily used Perk without the BP.

  • I would suggest a Breakout / Sabotage build if you want to save teammates reliably. It's very risky and sometimes the hook density is insane and if they brought Carry perks, good luck!

Light born is too strong. It should have tokens that you either gain through the match or lose during the match. It should not be a fail safe permanent counter.

  • The current state of Solo is pretty miserable. You are constantly aura read and tracked. The Killer traverses the map in seconds. Pallets and windows have become nearly useless against many Killer powers.

Many matches are just the Killer ping ponging from one down and hook to another and then back again until everyone is dead.

  • You can minimize the chat screen and never see it at all.

I wouldn't worry too much about what people say in video games.

Block them if they are following you to your Steam.

  • Honestly, every time I play against him, he does okay.

Slow starting game but you can build around that. People will run into your traps.

At the high end of play obviously he is weak but in an average Solo que, he's not bad.

  • I'm Solo and I don't use TAB to look at what Perks you guys are running.

You can't teach this old dog new tricks!

  • I think it's pretty straight forward on the Killer side to dial in MMR and calculate how well a player is performing, mostly through Kills.

I'm worried about the Survivor side. What if you are unlucky and get tunneled a lot? What if you rarely touch Gens but you are a God tier Looper? What if you save everyone on your team but usually end up dead because you like to play Alturistic?

Much harder to calcualte a good Survivor player because it can be a lot of different things.

Why not just function off the Pip system? On the Survivor side it's very diffifcult to do EVERYTHING in EVERY match. Especially with current pace of the game, map traversing Killers and endless aura reveal.

I remember several years ago when we had a fairly competent MMR system. I grinded to see how well I could do and made it into Iredecent ranks as a Solo. I couldn't tell you what my MMR was but every match was hard sweat and 50% of them were Blights. Survivor was in a stronger place at the time perkwise. We had old Dead Hard and original Circle of Healing. And we didn't have the current roster of map traversing Killers.

I honestly wouldn't want High MMR in current Meta. You guys can have fun with that.

  • The Evil Dead game managed to get licensed characters from ALL of the franchises. It can be done.

I don't see why BHVR couldn't negotiate a deal with the AoD license holder.

  • I enjoy laying on the ground waiting for the "tab abandon" option.

    Great game!

  • Waiting for Hens to bring the same busted Hex build and stomp through Solo players for content.

  • Latin America got the sweat Slasher. LOL!

  • On Survivor side, I basically ignore the Perks if I don't recognize them. I don't recognize them for a reason, (they are trash).

  • Should start match with random traps in place around the map. It would help her setup time even if it is RNG. Survivors aren't aware at the beginning and wont be cautious. It wouldn't pay off every time but it could lead into an early chase and quick start.

Her Addon kit should be looked at. With some creativity it shouldn't be too hard to add some quality and variety to her traps. Just have to be careful you don't turn her into "free hits".

You could argue that her RNG and setup should justify the "free hit" eventually but it just never feels good to be in a situation you cant try to counter play. Then again the counterplay was supposed to be, don't trigger her trap, lol.

    I say buff her.

Have you seen what goes on below the soft cap recently? No one is bullying those killers. The survivors just crouch around the map and then get downed immediately. But by your same logic, why would anyone stick with survivor when you just die over and over to a bunch of mechanics you don't understand? I played only killer for a while when I was new because of how frustrating and info heavy survivor was.

I'm saying the newer power creep Killer's are kind of a strong entry point. Newer players can jump in and have fun with them and I think BHVR actually wants a wide gap between Killer's with a High skill ceiling and some that are kind of brain dead.

This is an issue because you put someone like Jason in the hands of a Killer main with 5k hours and it's pretty miserable.

Survivor is in a rough spot, solo is always going to be a challenge.

I do not agree entirely with the direction BHVR is taking the game but I do understand that Killer has to be the power role and feel powerful.

  • Super hyped for New Castlevania!

If we can get a crossover, sweet.

Isn't Nurse the strongest killer in the game? With that thought, wouldn't she be included on the list?

No because Nurse requires more than 2 hours of practice to actually be good.

  • Killer has to "eat good" or we don't have a game. Imagine try to get newer players into the Killer role who get bullied and abused every game, not an easy sell.

I don't entirely agree with it. Any good Perks Survivors get are eventually nerfed. They release two Survivors ( 6 Perks ), five of them are trash and the good one will get nerfed.

On top of a constant Power Creep Killer, what can you even continue to develop for Survivor Perks that isn't just a Meme or complete waste of time?

  • @MorelClaudette said:

You think these changes would "mix up the meta"?

Like. Why should I ever equip this new version of Territorial Imperative (which is just a copy of Houndmaster's power with a few tweaks and Undetectable, but whatever) over Pain Res or Eruption?

The main issue with all these unused perks is NOT, that they are weak. It is that they are extremely niche. And just a bit of adjusting will not fix that.

It is by nature, that people will always choose those perks first, which work in almost every situation and not just in one certain one. Which then may not even occur in 90% of your matches.

Pain Res always works. Sprint Burst always works.

I don't understand the argument here? Don't try to fix bad perks that nobody uses?

  • It's a brain dead build on Jason. I honestly just don't even engage with it and switch to playing full bully, Flaslight and Sabo saves and force more chase to hopefully end the match quickly.

I was reading the patch notes and I didn't realise how many Aura reveal add-ons Jason has on top of Perks and his built in tracking.

Jason is the "let me hold your hand" Killer and maybe some people need that… ?

  • With the ever increasing amount of Perks and synergies it is kind of inevitable that diminshing returns would have to be implemented unfortunantley. You can still find synergies or Perks that activate at different times, (one at a time) especially on Killer side.

It's an easy way to tone down the stacking. I've grown okay with it and instead of stacking for one particular aspect of the game you can make better rounded builds.

  • You can get good with Lower tier Killers but it takes practice and Macro knowledge. You will get Gen Rushed because it's the safest effective thing Survivors can do against the Power Creep.

And this is where we are at. I don't even think it's fixable at this point without some major Killer Nerfs that would send the S tiers into a keyboard smashing rage.

  • A fair balance change would be to reveal only the Obsession at the start of match. Then good loopers could even play into it by using a perk that more likely makes them the Obsession.

But no, just reveal everyone and spawn us all on top of eachother.

We could cut out the middle man and just spawn one Survivor on the hook!

If the Devs Release the Kill Rate Stats for say the months of May through August, Jason, being the only released killer for that period, and thus the most played, will undoubtedly have inflated stats. We've seen this with Krasue, Ghoul, Spirit, hell even OG Freddy who was one of the worst to actually play, but still ended up with a High Kill Rate because the stats came out a month after his release.

Basically, Demanding the stats get released now will show you what you WANT to see: That he's the most lethal killer.

BUUUUT, that's not due to his actual kill rate, it's because he's currently being played way more than the other killers, which is throwing off the overall stats. If you want accurate stats, you'll have to wait until the devs release them roughly a year after Jason came out. People will be playing him less, some will have chosen to "main" him, others will have dropped him entirely or just play occasionally so they can go back to their favorites etc, the point is that Even if you saw his stats right now, they will be grossly inaccurate because of his current popularity. Don't Believe me? Here's the Killer "Kill Rate" stats they released for after Krasue and The First (ST Vecna) came out:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7ZAT8PXNFYST/image.png

Now, all things considered… Do you REALLY think Krasue is the No. 1 Killer in High MMR right now? Or even for the past 6 months? Do you see a lot of Krasue's Just dominating your matches right now? Hell, how about the Stranger Things Vecna? I bet you see more of them than the No. 1 Killer as of September 2025-February 2026, but I doubt they're as overbearingly lethal as this shows.

I hope you get my point.

This also reaffirms my position that the Higher Tier Killers are sitting Above 60%. In another post someone believe the NightLight Data meant the Killers were all sitting below the desired 60%. I assured him the NightLight data was not accurate.

  • Groovy!

  • Long story short.

The desparity between Kill rates on the classic M1 Killers and the Power Creep newer Killers is probably so wide that it cause a community revolt if BHVR actually showed us what is really going on.

  • Auara reveal + Traversal forces the Survivors to play complete Gen Rush or lose. And this is what the game has largely boiled down to. You add in Regression in the hands of a decent Killer player and now you need a God tier Looper on your team or it's cooked.

I understand that it keeps the Killer engaged and effective but it also forces Gen Rush. There must be a hundred Survivor perks for Chests, Totems, even Pallet resets that are a complete waste of time for very little value.

With the constant Power Creep on the newer Killer Kits and mobility, the Meta's are boiled down so much that the diversity in the game is all but lost and I think we've reached a stale Meta.

I don't see an easy way out of this without giving Survivors some serious perks to counter the insane pace of the newer Killer Kits and that would leave many older Killers kicking rocks.

Tough situation BHVR has developed it's way into.

the whole "hand held" argument about anything killer or survivor related just goes nowhere and only works to dmg the arguments about buffing or nerfing survivors/killers/etc b/c it is effectively a straw-man argument or an adhominem attack (depending on the circumstance)

My opinion is that certain Killers probably have a Kill rate well beyond 60% and that's my theory as to why we dont get to see BHVR data.

That's my theory, maybe I'm wrong.

If ou getting riolled by weaker low tier killer on 5 gens well then its just your team tbh or you got top 0,01% player which can happen but highter chances are that your team just suck and there isnt much you can do (like in all games if your opponent is way better you will get destroyed its been always like this) but same can happen other way around so nothing new here.

I sometimes see this happen the other way around. Got to endgame and saw this poor Doctor with one Green perk and immediately felt bad : (

He did get 1 Kill though, I told him "not bad" considering.

I don't really buy the 'BHVR has better data' argument. They've been asked, repeatedly ad nauseum, to share their data transparently but refuse to. As @cogsturning pointed out, we also don't know how they are adjusting the values and what they consider 'valid' or 'invalid' data.

Nightlight is, as a result, the best data metric we have. Flawless it is not, but it is far better than the mythical data that may or may not exist and may or may not be skewed due to how it is handled. I'll take flawed data over the possibility of data any day: no god of gaps in this house thank you very much.

I agree that the data can be useful when comparing Killers relative Power. The Killers sitting at High 50% in NightLight data are probably the same Killers that are sitting at 60%+ in BHVR data.

The OP seems to think that Killers need further buffs because the NightLight data is all below 60%. The problem is this is a small subgroup of players and doesn't reflect the larger casual experince.

I can only speculate why BHVR doesn't give us some data from their end. I suspect because Killer is being largely hand held but, that's just my opinion.

Nightlight is the most consistent data we can get, and represents the people who are actually committed to the game longterm, with knowledge. And it shows that certain killers, once you know what to do, are a one sided stomp. Just look at Sadako, put her against a team that actually understands her, she’s getting a 1K at best.
Bhvr collects from the general player base, which includes the stereotypical solo queue survivors who will throw games. The game should, probably, be balanced around knowing instead of ignorance.

Yes, in BHVR's data (Which is all games) the Kill Rate is probably higher than the Data you are seeing on NightLight. I wouldn't be surprised if the higher tier Killers are actually sitting at 60%+.

Emm but Pig is not weak same with GF, only players on them, just because they niche doesn't they are weak and need mobility, you kinda forced to play them well if you wanna results, plus indoor maps for this killer is an instant win I can say, since I never managed to escape against them in Lerys

I wouldn't say they are weak but they do require more skill, knowledge and looping practice. The power creep on newer killers are giving you Ranged abilities, Tracking, Traversal, etc. with almost nothing hold them back.

Ghostface can be okay, if you are good. It only takes one other survivor to knock you out of power with a lengthy cooldown. Jason has 12 seconds that he can't fly in Stealth across the entire map for as long as he likes. These punishments are not even comparable.

  • @NeverSolus said:

I'm just barely good enough that I can do this on Huntress. I can tell I'm going to win out when I can consistently get a hook by the time they are unhooking. Hook A. Go find B, down B, hook B. Return to hook A, Nurses calling will show me the reset. Repeat.

It's how I gauge if the match is going well for me or not. If I can't hook one by the time they unhook another, either they are terrible or I am.

It is a good gauge. I know when we are getting rolled on.

  • I think BHVR does collect the data. They just don't share it.

Nightlights data is not a clear representaion.

  • Idk. but we need a two foot tall Survivor that you can't F*ing see running all over the map… (I'm looking at you Chucky!)

    Ash could use some friends.

sadly killer doesnt get the same courtesy from the devs. survivors get ot abandan to save their time while killer wait to basicy usher out the survivors if the match went horrible. I had a near 30 minute game because they did gens super fast so i stood in a corner and just went and got food and came back and the survivors were still in the match and i was only able to abandon because of the 10 minutes of the survivors not working on gens that insane that killers have to wait 10 minites of survivors holding the game hostage to abandon

Killers need an abandon option once the doors are opened probably. They could in theory not open doors, in that case 5 minutes?

  • If Im running a Gen build I almost always have Self Preservation to counter BBQ.

Bully tactics like Flashlights and Sabotage can sometimes help but remind you, the player is good and you may turn that one down into two real quick.

  • After they added the "Tab abandon" feature, I feel this is less of an issue. Yeah, it's crap but I tab out so fast and in 20 seconds I'm in another lobby. GG.

It is an interesting one to look at. I find when most killers come out, survs usually have something in the perk toolbox to pull out, it's certainly deep enough. Take jason for example, since crouchwalking was so necessary against him you saw a lot of people running urban evasion for those first couple of weeks while his pickrate was through the roof.

When henry came out you saw a lot more people running sprint burst to counter his undergate attack.

I find new killers tend to go through that stage where people learn how to counter them, first with perks and then once they've had a bit of practice it turns to muscle memory.

You are correct, Urban Evasion has been pretty handy. I build each Survivor with as many of their teachable Perks that are usable. This keeps each Survivor kind of unique and each build fresh so they feel like less of a skin. Been playing Nea a lot lately.

  • Had this happen a couple times.

I can't stand the DC penalty and I take it as a sign to log off for the day. Just make sure you're timer actually activates or when you log back on you will still have DC penalty…

The floggings will continue until morale improves!

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4100094#Comment_4100094

It's a slightly different issue with survs. An individual survivor can't really be power crept because they are all just reskins of slightly different sizes and the perks can be shared between them all.

Bhvr have to be careful with survivor perks. Too powerful and they can have a really detrimental effect on the game. For a start if it's truely powerful you can potentially have all 4 survs running the same perk. I remember when made for this was first released with gabriel soma. I was seeing dull teams 4 stacking that perk to keep chases going longer.

They have a certain amount of leeway with new killers because killers are supposed to be the power role. So they can get away with broken killers for a period of time after release.

I do somewhat agree. There is a very fine balance to Survivor Perks. But if we are going to be consistently Power Creeped, something has to give.

  • Interesting how the "power creep" never seems to be on the Survivors side.

Any time we have a powerful perk, it gets nerfed into oblivion.

Dead Hard, Fast Track, Distortion, Self Care, Circle of Healing, etc.

Often we get Perks that sound interesting until you realise you will waste half the match trying to get value from it and it's just a meme...

Killer's are flying around the map with overstuffed kits and Survivors are told to. "Stay on gens".

Also the Diminishing Returns mechanic disportionately affects Survivor builds, like Haste, Healing and Gen speeds stacking. While Killers perks often activate at different times and one at a time so the "stacking" effect was never much of an issue for them to begin with.

  • Now that we have a "play while you wait" feature. I see no reason why we cant have more accurate MMR.

They did it for a while years ago but top tier Killer players had very long ques.

  • @KingOfGhost said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4099895#Comment_4099895

I simple fix will be to give tou the option ether for quick games or game closes to your mmr.but the will never fo that

Play while you wait essentially does the same thing for High MMR Killers without splitting the que.

  • Well, we could probably have something close to effective MMR but it's more important to split the que with an event every other week.

Several years ago they actually did try to implement a decent MMR system and the High tier sweat Killers had extremely long ques. Now that we have play while you wait system, it might actually work.

  • Overstuffed Kit.

He can do everything pretty well. In the hands of a good Killer player, you're cooked. You basically have to hope the player is bad at the game.
