It's more amusing when we pull it off against these survivors.
Should we feel targeted?

Good man we shall never tell the survivors the truth of how to counter us Spirit mains. They shall complain even though that information is in abundance.
I’m a trash spirit but it wasn’t so bad once I started applying myself more against spirit.
@PolarBear said:
Do you have a comparison so we can see?
Also, even if you know she is phasing, doesn't mean you know where she is (meanwhile she can hear your breathing/cries/walking/running and see scratch marks/grass moving).
It's all in the hands of the Spirit. You're basically playing the match on autopilot.
I do not have one and cannot currently test it since I’m not home.

How dare you give away trade secrets.
You forgot she can see you vault by the dust on the jump so commit to it.
Can track you from crows going off, but you can too.
She wont bother the grass, but you will so avoid that and go along ground spots.
Always change your pattern otherwise a semi smart Spirit will acknowledge this and destroy you.
And never ever think you can loop a Spirit. In those 16 seconds you'll lose as she recharges.
Juking requires highly spontaneous feeling. Watching her phase will give you an idea as she has a 1.5 charge speed and can move till the last moment for direction.
I’ve known the glittering for awhile but I didn’t tell your vaulting secret. 😂

May as well try, I know at least some will listen even if others choose not to.

To me, it feels like the animation reset is unintentional . The glittering could be intentional but it is strange that cosmetics like the school uniform hide some of her shards. Cosmetics shouldn't give any advantages.
The animation reset has been here since her release so I think it is intentional, it is slightly harder to notice with her schoolgirl outfit but still possible.

While phasing I usually notice it on her bottom half.

Doubt. The animation thing is definitively unintentional caused by the way they handle the spirits husk. Besides that the glittering is kinda inconsistent.
And I personally would prefer more Nurse-like killers than Spirit-likes, because the first one you can play intentionell different while the other has a bad game feel to face. And I say this as someone who gets lost by Spirits midchase quite on a regular basis. It's still not really fun to outplay a killer, who doesn't give any feedback if it was your decision or their mistakes what made them loose you.
I pretty much always notice the glittering and the animation reset has been here since her release.
-
I love small game but I’d gladly trade the trap locations part for a totem counter.
-
@arslaN said:
I don't get the point of making these things very subtle if they are supposed to be intentional counterplays.
I would also really appreciate it if someone could send me a clip of this animation reset thing because I still can't notice it.
It is more noticeable with longer hair but I don’t have a clip of it.
I think it is subtle since she is based around mind games so it can’t be a dead giveaway.
-

I could be wrong, but the spirit stand still thing seems to be a pretty well known technique, so apparently it's working on people. Why make the tell so subtle that people don't notice it if the intention is that it be noticed? Seems like bad design to me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I think it subtle because they don’t want it to be a complete dead giveaway.

Do not promote or share exploits or I will promptly report your reply to the mods.
Exploits are a big no-no - PERIOD.
I was told by a mod or dev before that it isn’t an exploit.

@Clockso said:
an adie i heard that i thought was fake was when her animation "resets" when she phases, but when i went against a spirit she was in front of a pallet and she tried to pretend to phase walk, then i noticed her animation instantly jumped to a specific frame and i immediately knew i had to go to the opposite side of the pallet where she was previously on but vault slowly so she doesn't know that i even vaulted it
This is more of a giveaway than the glittering is and it is helpful too.
-
@StevePerryPsychOut said:
I wonder why they put in such subtle hints that spirit is phasing. Are survivors supposed to know she's phasing or not? Either make it clear, or completely impossible. It seems kinda wishy-washy and half-assed. The only people who will notice the subtle tells are the ones who need the help against her the least.
If people pay attention then it helps everyone, her stand still mindgame would never work and her vaulting won’t fool anyone paying attention.
-
@GennyFromTheBlock said:
I R-E-S-P-E-C you, sir GrootD00de.
But the Spirit doesn't shake up gameplay. She makes everything into luck/chance with the luck heavily tilted in her favor.
She needs balanced to when she's phasing/vaulting, that it's apparent.
Phasing is already an amazing, sure thing... cuz like you said, Survivors pick a pattern and repeat it.
As I said in the post, the glittering tells you that she is phasing/vaulting. Imo she is really fun to face.
Off-topic but I love your name. :)

I thought the glittering was a visual glitch :O
I don’t think it is but I could be wrong. Even so, it only happens while phasing/vaulting.

Am I the only guy who has never used or obtained a splinter? Probably because the only chapter I’ve used shards on is Clown and Kate but still. Never had one pop up in a bloodweb.
-
Simply because I see a lot of people play her. If people play a survivor a lot then you’ll likely see a lot of bad people playing them.

Spirit's base kit does need some changes. Mainly ways for survivors to have more counterplay and more feedback on that counterplay.
You don't need to worry about that yet, next rework/add-on rework is going to be Doctor so at least another 6 months before she'll get changed.
She glitters while phasing/vaulting, we have information if we pay attention.

This is my problem as well.
Character customization is my favorite part of any game. It's too bad the system they have in place limits the ease that skins can be created.
Fan created survivor and killer themes that could be easily applied to the game through the steam workshop would be amazing...
Although we'd probably have players trying to give claudette and adam a ninja suit lol
We’d probably have every survivor in shadow suits lol

I admittedly haven't put very much time in to the nurse, I'm sure she can be playable with practice, I'm not there yet haven't had the time, but God she sucks
It took me probably a month before I really got a hold of her.

Depends on the Nurse honestly and the console version the killer is using. There are some amazingly powerful Nurse players and then the majority are either ok to terrible with a few good ones in between.

I would argue having the potential to be the best doesn't matter if nobody is living up to that potential. While I'm sure there are great Nurse players on console I've never seen one.
I’ve probably seen about as many good nurses as hag in general but experiences may vary.

I think every killer is viable at red ranks with decent add ons, I can 4k with any of them using the top 50% quality add ons, but not nurse, you said you were good with nurse back in the day, well all survivors do against nurse now is double back when you blink and the controller isn't sensitive enough to turn around and hit them, so you miss. I think I've seen one nurse player in the last three months and everyone escaped.
Survivors always tried that on me, it isn’t a hard thing to counter if you know that they’re trying it.
-
@joker7997 said:

Oh that must be why it's nothing but nurses at red ranks! Oh wait, it's anything BUT nurses at red ranks!
Do you think Hag and huntress are also weak? Nurse is pretty hard to learn on console and most players don’t have time for it, I actually saw mostly legions at red ranks before reset, does that make Legion number one?
-

You are 1000% wrong, she is the worst killer on PS4. So bad that she is completely unused. I can 4k regularly with every killer, except nurse, i get utterly stomped, the sensitivity just isn't there to make it work.
You are 10000% wrong, back in my nurse main days, I made her the strongest killer. I only stopped playing her because I started getting dcs and suicides on the hook.

I have gone against far more Hags on Ps4 than Nurse will ever amount to. She's only surpassed by Michael Myers and Spirit for the Killers I go against the most. Are there Nurse players? Sure, not arguing that...but aside from probably Clown she is thee least used, let alone a skilled one and Ive been playing for 2 years
People are put off from playing her because of the frame rate and lack of the accuracy a Mouse can afford. We can keep going back and forth on this, but I already see we won't move from our positions.
The majority of people say that Hag is extremely rare, I’ve seen as many good console nurses as I have Hag in general, we’ll have to agree to disagree I guess.
-
@Nikkiwhat said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/768257#Comment_768257
And I can count on one hand the amount of Nurses I have went up against in the entirety of me playing DBD, is indicative of a problem where hardly anyone is inclined to face against her...playing Green & Purple Ranks as Survivor you would still expect to face the occasional Nurse...but practically nobody is playing her....
Hag is played even less, does that make weak?
-
@Nikkiwhat said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/768173#Comment_768173
Not for console and especially not with the incoming nerfs, she has added handicaps. Spirit is by far outclassing her, along with Hillbilly, Hag, Michael and Ghost Face tending to be seen far more. Survivors can easily dodge and bait out Nurse and she lacks the ability to quick snap her Blinks to trick or trick hit Survivors....unless the Survivors are extreme potatos....on console, they should not be,losing to a Nurse
They just aren’t facing a good nurse, she is still far more capable then any other killer, most console people just aren’t very good with her.
-
@AkiTheKitten said:

She isn't the best in PS4, no one even uses her. The best on here are Spirit and Billy
I use to main nurse on PS4, @Doc_W__HOLLIDAY can confirm and she is still the best killer.

I had to set my messages on PS4 to "friends-only" just because of DbD.
And when I watch PC streamers, the majority of their after-game chats consist of more or less severe insults.
I see a lot more on the contra than on the pro side when we are talking about keeping the after-game chat.
Which is why I said that the Paladins community is probably nicer. I don’t think it needs removed necessarily but an option in your settings to disable it would be nice for those that don’t want it.
I’d personally like to have it on console but that’s just my opinion.
-
@NoShinyPony said:

You could keep the pre-game chat so that survivors can discuss how they want to play. I rarely see something useful coming out of the after-game chat.
Maybe the Paladins community is nicer but I’ve had more nice conversations in after game chat than rude conversations(I’m not mentioning dbd because console doesn’t have after game chat) most people probably won’t message you to have a nice chat, sadly.

This really triggers me when I run the perk

If survivors don’t cleanse then they’re broken all game so they’re on one hit down.
