Yeah, I sometimes think about this as well and I think you're right.
I think you should have to work on a Gen for at least a full second to stop the regression
If you really hate it you can run overcharge, a doctor's perk, so when they interact with a Gen they immidiatly get the overcharge skill check and if they just tapped the Gen they will instantly fail it so it's like 15% regression for free every time they do it
If survivors tap gens to fix them they still get the skill check even while running away.

Within a 16-24m range? I don't know what the balance point there is, but both are generally in terror radius and 16m is super close. It's not a massive cross-map advantage.
...unless you're playing against a monitor & abuse 24m terror radius killer... or a stealth killer.
-
Would be pretty convenient. Don't wanna have to look through a massive perk list every time I wanna run a stupid build...
-
It's fine. Newer survivors are going to be naturally more cautious when they get a screen effect and this status effect

Hear me out on this one.
If you ever played killer, you probably ran into the obnoxious kind of players that play just to be little pieces of (nope).
Now, people also complain about the Q times for killers, so how about this:
Introduce an item for killers they'll carry automatically that allows them to once or twice per hour (so, not every match) to call upon the Entity to send in another killer to deal with these brats.
If the item is used a killer looking for a match gets a popup that another killer calls for their aid, how many survs and gens are left etc. if killer 2 accepts the summon, both killers get only 50%-75% of the bloodpoints.
Maybe have a premium version of the item that allows for Summons every second match?
Also limit the use to 'at least one gen has to be done OR no two gens within a certain timelimit'
And, maybe, if the match goes on for 'too long' by the time of the calling, the entity will block the hatch.
This would be extremely unbalanced. Two killers vs 4 survivors is just unfair. If the two chase a single survivor together then the survivor has no chance. Why would this ever be a good idea? If the killer is bad then he can just team up and make the game extremely unfair. Not to mention they'd have to recode a lot for this part of the game.
Taking BP is NOT a sufficient deterrent for in-game actions.
Also why would the entity blocking the hatch make the game any shorter? If anything it would make the game longer since survivors cant jump into it and end the game.
Edit: Also, survivors being ######### is not an excuse to add a game mechanic that skews the game HUGELY in the killer's favor
-
If we're talking all meta builds, and all high skill levels, then survivors very much have an advantage, with or without comms
-
I've said it once, and I'll say it again: You don't nerf SWF, you buff solos and killers. Buff solos by giving them more communication and information. Most SWF nerf ideas could ######### over randoms playing with them or a random group of friends just wanting to have fun.

There already is a gong, right?
"If something spans across multiple tiles, like main buildings or Springwood's basement, it won't be removed"
So what about Lery's, The Game, Midwich? Any interior map? If they work on large maps, why not on a few tiles? (Though this could be tailored on a map-by-map basis: Lery's/Midwich/The Game losing The roof/skybox, to one of pitch blackness. Then Midwich losing the Top floor first whereas The Game loses the bottom floor first, followed by Standard collapse)
The idea sounds cool as hell (and it would need to be a massive overhaul), but if you want to make it feel like a collapse, it would also be better to have more consequences to the changing environment than just walls: No walls erected, just an empty tile with glowing orange edges that leads to the void. The Killer/Survivors can fall off this edge, and are sent to the end of match screen. Survivors are treated as if they die.
The criteria for keeping tiles should also be expanded to if the tiles are on a path between:
Hooked Survivor -> Exit Gate
Exit Gate -> Hatch
Hatch -> Hooked Survivor
Hell yeah just gonna commit seppuku by jumping off of the map lmao
-
That would make things really weird. I wouldn't be against it in KYFs though
I mean, after all they DID change most killers because they were annoying to play against or not strong enough
-
hes just a better old freddy, with what i can tell some nurse elements??
his perks:
Kill One Get One - Would incentivize tunneling. It's usually what happens with perks that require kills to work. Just look at the old Dying Light :P
I Am Coming For You All - Would be incredibly broken on monitor & abuse small terror radius killers (or stealth killers).
Hex: Too Late - The perk has minimal effects, except for the part where it makes the obsession injured. That's not even fun to go against. Imagine you're in the middle of a chase and then someone pops a gen right before you get hit. Why is it even a hex perk?

usually i say "gg wp" and then i'll like just watch the endgame chat or say "rip" if my team got slaughtered
If the killer was an ######### and tunneled me the whole game though or I am exceedingly frustrated for some reason (like that time I tried 20+ times to get ace's crown, and went up against an iri head huntress during that) I will start complaining :P
Or if I'm really happy with how it turned out, like how I basically started to worship the killer that let me live that game where i FINALLY got ace's crown.

How about you cleanse the dull totems instead of finishing gens in 3 minutes. The perk was literally created to punish survivors who ignore totems, not "reward" bad killers, whether or not the killer is bad is irrelevant.
There are 5 totems, look for unbroken/broken ones or voice com with your friends
it's so funny... survivors complain about not having anything else to do, but when the devs boost the reward two fold for cleansing totems people STILL gen rush and complain about NOED.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1076300#Comment_1076300
Search around the map for 10 minutes to find 5 tiny, random totems with no sign of where they are for a chance at countering a perk that the killer might not even have: Totally fair and balanced perk! Nothing to see here. Just git gud lmao
Just don't tunnel someone: #########???? OVERPOWERED PLS NERF
I do agree that the timer needs to be shortened, or go away when someone gets hooked besides you or when you touch a gen but... its ridiculous that you think NOED is not op when DS is apparently the second spawn of satan.
Also what the hell are we supposed to do, sit in a corner instead of doing the objective?
My main problem is that half of the time you can get 4 totems and still get completely ######### in the endgame because nobody else found the last totem or felt like doing it.

@Pigster said:
I bet someone did this before, i wanna see what the community thinks about noed.
It's fair against people with communication, but without a totem counter I don't see myself not getting upset over getting hit by NOED after a long game anytime soon

The reason they don't have an FOV slider is because then everyone would set it to like max and it would make hiding harder

I cannot believe this, devs learn to balance the game smh

It would be cool to have a mixture of the first one and the second part of the second one

I would give just the killer and obsession 5 perks. Nobody else.
The obsession is decided once the game has begun, not pre-game
-
The power does nothing to help in a chase.
Keep Quiet is just Nemesis but it affects everybody, doesn't change the obsession, needs 3 stacks, and is also activated by blinds.
Injustice can be very easily exploited if you never down the new obsession. Also, the cooldown means nothing, since a survivor healing another from the dying state is very rare. The only counterplay is to have the new obsession bodyblock, and then let them bleed out when they inevitably are slugged to get someone else to activate the perk.
Unholy Contract essentially punishes the survivor for doing good in a chase. Perks should not punish Survivors for being good.
-
Really it depends on what I'm feeling. Usually I'll play Jake, but if I feel like engaging in some pure Blendette action, I'll switch over to her.
-
it was either because 1. I sucked or 2. NOED
-
Can confirm that it still happens

I’m pretty sure this was already in the game before and it got removed

Ok see it as a punishment if you want.
Yet playing SWF punishes the killer and the solo as the SWF don't have to use perks like Kindred, Empathy, Bond, or Object of Obsession as they already communicate via Discord or Skype in most cases.
They don't need Self-care as they can communicate their location to one of their teammate to get heal.
This allow them to use their perks slots for more meta perks such as DS, Dead Hard/SB, BT and Adrenaline.
Meaning the killer is punished because he is most likely to face 3-4 survivors with the most strong perk in the game.
There are ~70 survivor perks currently, yet people decide to play 5-6 of them.
I don't see my suggestion as a punishment as SWF are already gifted with better perk choice, i see my suggestion as a way to actually balance the perks played in a match.
I don’t just see it as a punishment. It is OBJECTIVELY a punishment.
I play with my friends. I get punished by not being able to equip a certain perk that I may or may not want to use.
Two solutions:
- Add an in-game voice chat and balance around that
- Reward the killer by granting a BP multiplier for the match, or even lower the standards for a safety pip depending on how many SWF people there are.
-
Seriously though.
You can't just debilitate every SWF squad. Sure, it helps against toxic tryhards, but friendly people who just wanna enjoy the game with their friends get ######### over.
Honestly, at this point, just give everyone comms, rework Survivor aura perks, and then balance the game around that instead (increase gen time, buff killer perks, etc).
It's just one of the most fair ways to balance SWF without screwing SWF teams themselves over, although I'm pretty sure Behavior won't do that because it conflicts with their initial vision of the game. At least, I think that's the excuse they gave.
That's probably what they tried with Deathgarden.

Had the change they made been in ADDITION to the current effect, sort of like how Dark Sense was buffed so it was when any generator popped not just when you were working on one, this would have been great. So then it would be when any survivor is hooked including yourself, not just yourself, this would be great and I would probably run it way more often.
But what they did is complete dog #########, normally I don't criticize the devs and normally their balance passes on old perks are great, but this is just garbage. Kindred was a perk FOR SOLO PLAYERS YOU MONGOLOIDS, and now you want to take that away, #########. Wasn't the whole idea to nerf SWF to buff solo players capability of information sharing in a trial?? What is this bullshit!?
Everybody else be talking about the rest of the chapter while I'm over here in my solo corner up in arms about the kindred nerf god ######### damn it.
It got buffed tho, now the effects are for everyone while you're hooked and YOU get its effects if someone else is hooked

Honestly, I think it should have a slow recharge on tokens instead of infinite uses. Like you get a token every 60 seconds or something, to a cap of 3
-

Nah, that would provide alot of info to the killer on the survivors whereabouts
Anyways, I like smacking survivors with franks 3 when they have a key
perhaps when the item is picked up, there should be a small delay of, say, 10 seconds until the aura disappears, similar to the Plague's Pools of Devotion

I just wish I didn't have to go to the Wiki in order to know exactly how much all these values are.

I usually spend the shards if it's the last teachable a character has, so I only have to level them up to 35.

This would be cool, but I think there should also be like a "perk shop" thing where you can buy perks for a large amount of Iridescent Shards (like 8000, 10000, maybe more) with the Shrine being a sale for the involved perks.

SCP-096 wouldn't even work since it is a beast, so it wouldn't work/be tortured to kill for the entity, it simply kills they who see it's face.
In other words, if SCP-096 was added, he would be concious of what he would be doing (killing and sacrificing people). Besides, we already got a killer with the power of sprint.
well explain the Demogorgon if it won't work since it's a "beast"

Just remove the uninjured malarkey.
Before, Urban Evasion also needed you to be uninjured. But now, that's not a thing.
I think that they should change Fixated in the same way.

Mostly because it takes like ten minutes to get into a single match as Killer. If queue times didn't take forever, I would play Killer a lot more.

This perk was already good before this. It's a small buff, not a game changer. Besides, most of your time spent stalking will be in T2 anyway, unless you're running a Scratched Mirror.

No One Escapes the Endgame, Decisive Light, Dark Senses, and Last Minute Hero will be the bane of my existence if these challenges come to fruition.
Hungry Jaws, One for Each, and Six Feet Under seem really tough, but doable if you play your cards just right.

Just going to hide this for the people who don't like gore:
By lore, once a Face Hugger latches on to its victim, they are paralyzed until they are implanted. This process takes a few hours because the Face Hugger has to prep everything.Once the victim is implanted, they will soon die after a short while since there is an alien inside of them and it will burst out of their stomach. Time of death can vary, but can be determined by symptoms. Therefore, having the Face Hugger attack you and walking away from that unscratched is not normal.
Having the survivor defend themselves from being attacked looks more realistic then having it deal damage to you.
Besides, you get two chances before it actually kills you. :)
Yeah... I know. I’m literally just saying that it’s harsh. I’m not taking lore into account- this is game balance. Besides, the Entity doesn’t fully comprehend reality anyway.
Also, I don’t think this concept excludes the possibility of Insidious camping around the area of the egg, then downing the survivor when they activate it to kill them, though that would be pretty hard to pull off.
Or bodyblocking the exit to the effective range on activation, like in Autohaven’s garage generator room.

And I'm telling you they don't kill you if they're not active during endgame. You're ignoring that fact that they don't work if they're not placed before the last gen pops. They removed endgame pig from the possibilities of gameplay styles and it's a real shame.
And the hatch has always been an option.
I’m comparing the harshness or instantly killing the survivor instead of blocking the exit gates to the harshness of instantly being sacrificed instead of just being hurt to the Facehugger thingies.
Honestly I do think the Pig’s traps should automatically activate once all gems are done, but as a cost slow the EGC timer until it’s removed.

That is rarely a thing anymore with the changes to the RBTs at the Endgame. They won't activate just because it's endgame anymore, which I think is a mistake, since the EGC is pretty much the same amount of time as the RBTs by default. You can walk through the door and just leave if you have an inactive trap on you.
You can still leave via hatch.
I'm saying that they KILL YOU once you try to leave via the exit gates if they're active. This is much harsher than just blocking the exit gates. I can't put it simpler.

domino is just contagious madness 3 without a counter other than hiding in a locker
Black Widow and Cherchez la Femme are incredibly situational, with one better than the other (black widow with hindered instead of just exhaustion)

Theoretically, without addons, you can get to a box before the timer starts and take it off... same with after the timer starts, there are 2 minutes to get it off. You can get to every box before then if you hit only good skill checks. Usually a key is in the second one you complete, not because of odds increasing with each box, but how the key system works and your luck. Some addons make it more difficult to find boxes or to complete them, but very few pig builds actually set out with headpoppiing in mind, because many pig players know that it is very rare to get a headpop.
However, most people will let a survivor get their headgear off before finishing a gen, so they have as much time to get it off as they need.
Same with Alien Eggs. They don't sound replenishable, so they're not like Demo portals or anything. Once they're all placed, that's it. At least that's how it's described now.
I’m not talking about regular kills with RBTs. I’m talking about how you instantly die if you try to exit the match via the exit gates, which is harsh compared to just blocking the exit gates for that survivor.

Well, it takes time for the Facehugger to activate, it's aura is shown to the survivor, and has a deceptively short range. I think it's balanced, and punishes survivors who don't act quickly enough.
To me it's still a little harsh to people who are slow on the uptake. Kinda like how the Pig's RBTs instantly kill players who try to exit the game with an active trap, instead of just blocking the exit gates.

The effects wouldn't stack. Probably should've mentioned that...
So it just becomes useless if more than one person uses it?
Perhaps the perk should allow you to bypass a very difficult Skill Check when you're starting a gen to get like 10% progress on it, and works on gens that have regressed to 0%.
-
Being sacrificed on the spot by a facehugger is a bit overkill. I would say just getting injured so you can't just randomly die?

Sacrificial Plague would be incredibly OP. It's basically a free hook on one survivor, which can't unhook other people, and then it just becomes old Dying Light but only to altruistic actions.
Not being able to unhook people is incredibly unbalanced. Imagine being in a scenario where it's just you and some other guy on the hook, and the killer has Sacrificial Plague. It just guarantees the killer a cheap kill since you can't do anything about it.
Hellish Scenario would be a bit useless outside of BP grinding. Usually when you down a survivor and you have someone hooked, everyone rushes for the unhook since you're too busy carrying a survivor to a hook.
Hex: Bloody Mix would work better as a non-hex perk. There's really no reason to it being a hex perk. Also, this perk can be easily countered with Breakdown, although not many survivors use it. And even if you get it, there's a chance that the Survivors don't even have any exhaustion perks, making it totally useless. It would work a little better if exhaustion was applied to all survivors.
It seems pretty situational, but it would definitely work well sometimes.
The only time you'd really get to use the perk, though, would be those times where someone takes a hit and uses your attack cooldown to get the unhook.
As for the killer (I'm only gonna cover the hook terror radius since I want to die from making this long of a comment):
Hooks giving off a terror radius seems a bit weird. I don't really understand what this could be used for. If this terror radius actually affects survivors though (like the true terror radius), it could pair kinda well with Unnerving Presence or Coulrophobia. On the flip side, it would make farming tokens with Stake Out very easy, which makes Ruin useless. On top of that, hooks are typically close to generators, meaning that you could possibly regain tokens the whole time you work on a gen. It also would guarantee use of Borrowed Time.
Do you still have to hook the survivor, or would you just have that ability right off the bat with an Ivory or Ebony Mori and Sacrificial Plague? I'm curious
