Yes, and Otz did a 50 wins challenge with every killer, using no addons, including Meyers, who he doesn't even play that much, normally. Do you think he is regularly facing potato survivors? Tru3ta1ent and other youtubers play Meyers much more frequently, so are probably even better with him. Most people put pig at bottom tier, but Dowsey disagrees and considers her B tier, A tier when learned to play well. Is he wrong? Is everyone else wrong? Maybe he thinks she is better than others think she is because he plays her a lot and has learned to do well with her....the same as skilled Meyers players feel about him.

I don't understand the point of your last paragraph. Tier lists are only good for high MMR, but if you are good enough you will hit high MMR eventually? What does that have to do with anything? The OP is nowhere near high MMR, and most people will never hit high MMR. The majority of the player base are not competitive players, so they can do well with any killer, and there are far worse killers than Meyers. You are using logical fallacies to try and make your point. Introducing the idea that I am talking about youtubers with only 100 hours is disingenuous, at best. It is a fabrication to try and dismiss what I said. Why would I watch youtubers that only have a hundred hours of gameplay? If I am better than they are, they aren't worth watching.

bro I hate to say this but now your just arguing to argue

when even stalkyboi the man with probably the most hours on Myers in all of dbd (which I think last I checked he said he had 5k or 7k hours on just myers) and the most skilled and familiar myers player on YouTube considers him low tier I think the point has been made

That is so stupid. Kills doesn't mean skill either. I can agree with it more than escaping, but people self delete on hook all the time and people leave teammates on hook all the time for death. That isn't by the killer's doing a killer's skill comes from stopping gen completion and ending chases as fast as possible.

oh we all agree and we all told them it was a terrible idea and yet again they kept reassuring us they knew what was best for us but clearly they do not

I would say most of the playerbase would be discontent with the way sbmm works if they knew the way it works but sadly the only way the would know is reading these forums or watching killer vids on youtube where content creators talk about it and I would say sadly 80% of the playerbase does neither of these

    so sad

  • @Ramxenoc445 said:

If I remember correctly for survivor it decides how skilled you are based on escapes and if it does escaping does not equal skill. You could very well hide around maybe get to second phase on hook and still escape. That doesn't mean you have skill though the same way dying doesn't mean you're bad. Sure if you die before any gens are done sure you can argue that sometimes. Though with all the factors that cause things in this game to shift your skill or mmr rating should not be dictated by by just escaping. You doing gens should count, doing totems, escaping a chase, protecting your teammates and all those other things are what matter. I just looped a doctor for no idea how long while having just one person other than me alive and eventually I got caught. The other survivor did nothing but cower and hide while having a full purple toolbox to use on a gen, but all they did was hide.

These are not the teammates I should be getting this person acts as if they're a new player and maybe they are, but I have almost 1.7k hours on this game on PC and prob 2k from my time on PC. I'm by no means the best survivor but I know for a fact i'm not bad at this game my killer side needs some work but my survivor MMR seems like its just shat given the quality of teammates I get most games which is ironic because if I die again it pushes me further down which only makes the issue worst. I cannot escape if 2/3 of my teammates don't know what they're doing or act like they're playing Outlast.

MMR feels like the dumbest thing this game could've added. If it actually works just based on escapes its way too simple to be a real way of dictating skill and it needs to be changed and have more factors.

mmr is only calculated based on escapes and kills despite them reassuring us multiple times before the system came out that it was more complex then that

######### one of the devs that went over it even said that making a system that actually worked would be 2 hard and 2 complicated lmaoo I love this studio

I keep seeing a whole bunch of post about killers needing nerfs and it's not even Nurse, spirit or Blight. I get that some are actual jokes and it's fun to talk about the ridiculousness of needing any killer that isn't on top *cough* Slinger *cough*

Anywho I can't really wrap my head around it as some people seem a little too serious about actually nerfing low tier killers who need outright buffs, tuning or reworks.

there all just troll/ alt accounts if you havent noticed

people have realized that if you complain enough on these forums from a survivor perspective the devs will actually take you serious and nerf it even if it was a joke

hence why pig and death slinger both got nerfed when they both didnt need it at all

How is it hypocrisy? Playing badly shows a lack of skill. Any killer can look bad when played by a low skilled player. Doing well, however, shows that the killer is not bad, otherwise they couldn't do well. Not sure how that isn't obvious. I have never attempted to play Nurse. If I went into a game today and played her, I would make her look really bad. Does that mean she is bad?

Tier lists are opinions, not facts, but you act as if they are facts. Also, as I stated several times, they are only relevant for high MMR gameplay. I can use clown and do well at low and mid ranks and, in fact, I have. And, as I pointed out earlier, there are youtubers out their that don't put him into those tiers, and at least one, recently said they consider him top 4.

But, yes, we can agree to disagree.

if playing badly shows a lack of skill how does playing good show skill? I've never played nurse either but I promise you I could get a 4k vs potatoes how do you know the survivors these killers are facing are actually any good

tier lists are opinions your right but when 3/4 of the community all agree I would say it almost becomes a fact if there's 100 people in a room and 75 say the sky is blue then yeah I would say its blue that's pretty fair

yes tier lists might only be useful at high mmr but if your actually good at the game then your gonna hit high mmr eventually and its gonna be hell there is youtubers that put him not in that tier but I'd argue that the youtuber with 100 hours is not nearly as knowledgeable as guys like dowsey and otz with a combined hour count of 15k hours

  • thank you for exposing hypocrites I like the way you post 👌

  • @Sluzzy said:

First, tier ranks are made for top tier gameplay. Pretty much all killers can do well at low and mid ranks, and meyer is certainly better than some other killers. It's when you start approaching the higher tiers where killers start falling away. Plus, the fact that there are some videos of people doing badly with him is irrelevant. There are plenty of videos of people doing badly with nurse, blight, Oni, Spirit, etc. The fact that there are people that can do well with him is all that matters. Anyone can suck with any killer. Meyers is easy to learn and has some great strengths. Good for a new player, once you get used to the stalking aspect.

Second, I never said he was a strong killer. I said that he didn't suck. Big difference.

I guess well just have to agree to disagree then cause if vids with people doing bad doesn't matter vids of people doing good shouldn't either that's just hypocrisy idk about you but in any game any character in any game in c or d tier I would say sucks hard but ig we will have to agree to disagree if c or d tier doesn't suck to you I would hate to see what does

  • @PBsamichShoe said:

Trickster is another killer ive had a decent time playing for a while but i get pretty consistent dcs against him. I think he could basically use one major change:

    1. He needs a 3-5 second cooldown to his knives after taking a health state from a survivor.

Right now he can easily down a survivor in just under 10 seconds because theres no cooldown when he takes a health state. This makes for really unfair gameplay and is a little boring on the killer side.

stop trying to nerf mediocre killers play trickster vs a swf and see if you feel the same

  • @kingbojenbo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2603028#Comment_2603028

I had suggested a cooldown after a killer snuffs out the totem. You mentioned tunneling as a "strategy". Tunneling is never a strategy and if it's relied on then the killer is terrible. I've seen many experienced killers destroy teams without resorting to those tactics.

must not have been facing good teams then cause even great killers like otz and dosey struggle to get a single hook or kill against pro teams like Oracle

  • @gendoss said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2602673#Comment_2602673

That's not true. Even the best tournament survivors don't take every single angle wide to get fast vaults.

idk what tournaments your watching but they definitely always try to the reason they might not get it sometimes is simply a accident

  • @PBsamichShoe said:

I main pinhead and ive gotten all perks unlocked on him to tier 3. Pinhead needs a hard nerf.

    Example:

I can run ruin, undying, thrilling tremors, and deadlock with almost any addons and hes basically unbeatable. Ive had plenty of matches against really good teams and he stomps on them with this build.

    Things i think should change:

    1. Something should be done about survivors being interrupted by chains while trying to solve the lament configuration.

Thats pretty much it. I think addressing that one issue would make him more fair and fun to play against for survivors. Ive had plenty of teams where one or more people just completely give up and point at the hook for me to sacrifice them rather than keep playing or dc.

bro please stop trying to nerf killers that are just alright I promise you that you are not actually facing good survivors if your ruin and undying isn't gone in the first 10 mins no offense it's just facts

OMG That is just a silly argument. Look, that is an extremely rare situation, that the vast majority of people will never come across, and even then likely not more than once. Plus, if you go against a team like that, with any killer, you are going to lose. There are tons of videos of high MMR players on youtube doing extremely well with Meyers. Just because you can't play him well, doesn't mean others can't.

just like there's plenty of videos of myers getting dominated, I'm telling you I'm not saying myers is stupid bad but to say hes a strong killer is just a wrong argument when pretty much the whole community would rate him as c or d tier

  • @illusion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2602878#Comment_2602878

Anyone playing in a tournament is not at low or mid MMR, so that is irrelevant. Good swf's are not going to be at low and mid MMR's. And the swf's that are, are not that big of a threat.

people that play in tournaments still play the game normally like when they are off work and stuff you realize that right? just cause your swf doesn't automatically make you high mmr you still have to build it up and we still dont know how many games that takes so yes there can be good swfs at low mmr ######### there's swfs that stream and purposely throw games and die to lower their mmr on purpose now that we know mmr is only based on escapes and kills

  • @illusion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2602298#Comment_2602298

Well, first of all, there are players that do great with meyers at high MMR, and consider him a great killer, one felt that he was top 4. That said, the OP is not playing at high MMR, and at low and mid tier MMR he is a decent killer. If the MMR system actually worked, the OP should not be playing against a good SWF.

I'm not talking about mmr I'm saying any halfway decent swf at any mmr low or high will destroy a myers even a good one like I said there's a reason he isn't picked in tournament think about that

well I mean unless every game you get survivors that slam gens then your just not in high mmr there's nothing offensive or wrong with that statement it's just facts typically in high mmr all gens get done in 4-5 mins that's just a fact I'm sorry 8t hurts your feelings

  • not saying that just saying at high mmr everyone plays optimally idk why everyone thinks I'm flexing it's not even hard to get high mmr it's pretty easy

    Why people like flexing?

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/Y72UXHQM7MU1/image.png

Though I agree CoH is powerful, healing should not go over 100% speed (reduced to 8sec max) even if 2 survivors healing on one guy in CoH. With 14sec blessing, a single selfcare of 16sec instead of 32sec, or requires another 16sec of another survivor healing you is already benefit more than you bless a totem.

Had a Coh from a teammate, Killer was trying to get a last hook Feng, I & Clau able to heal each other extremely fast and both go back to body block for Feng, while Kate doing Gen in background. Its pretty much forced Killer to give up chasing on Feng to disable Boon.

not flexing just being honest at high mmr when you get face camped people slam gens every single time that just how high mmr is typically atleast 1 or 2 people are good at looping as well I'm just being honest not trying to be a dick

Instead of getting defensive, I’d be happy to be proven wrong if you post evidence of what you’re saying. The issue everyone has been posting is audio of a hit triggering when they get dead hard validated. NOTHING has been posted (to my knowledge from the countless threads I’ve read) that the blade wipe animation occurs in this instance.

I think this a fair thing to say, right? Now you can respond in a civil manner or we can devolve this thread further with name-calling and profanity.

Been playing Survivor the entire day and got teammates who had this perk and it's really strong. You can see where it placed pretty much signaling where every survivor should go to reset on their own and I always had full value on that perk and healed myself multiple times in a match whenever it's placed. I could just go harass a generator, get a hit then maybe discourage the killer from further chasing because I'm bringing him into a side of the map nowhere near generators he should be protecting. Leaves me alone and I do a reset again and do it all over again.

Just the fact that you can reset on your own is alarming. It destroy any pressure a killer has. Now you might argue that Survivor can heal perfectly fine without it but you're not. Just the fact that a survivor has to wait for someone or find them on their own to do a reset buys the killer time. That's two people wasting their time not doing a generator and that's not even mentioning the time they wasted traveling to get to each other and whatnot.

I have no idea about Shadowstep though I reckon playing a killer would make me see it's effect better and probably a menace on indoors map.

finally someone who says the truth I mostly play solo queue when I play survivor and everyone on the forums has been raging saying the boons aren't to strong and they suck in solo queue but idk maybe there just at low mmr cause in all my games I loop the killer for atleast 2-3 gens and typically have time to run to whatever boon there is and I play on console

  • @illusion said:

Myers doesn't suck, you just need to get better at playing him. You are new to the game and his stalk mechanic takes some getting used to, and some finesse. Having his power at rank 1 is fun for jump scares, but it is not powerful. Ant tier 3, though, you can insta-down people.

Not all characters have good perks. Not a fan of any of the obsession perks, myself. You may want to rank up some killers with good perks until they are teachable, and use those on Myers.

You don't get stunned by flashlights, that is a Wraith problem (flashlight save exception to that). You get blinded, but can still move, break pallets, swing your weapon, etc... Don't flail around wildly, but if you think you can hit someone, take the shot. More importantly, if there are people with flashlights around, don't pick up the downed player. Go after the players with the flashlights. Injure them and make them run off. They only have a brief window in order to get a flashlight save. Try to angle yourself during the pickup, to avoid giving them a good shot, and not when they are close. Pick up the Franklin's Demise perk when you get the chance, that will make them drop their items when you hit them.

Honestly, you shouldn't have to face an organized group like that at your skill level, but the DBD MM system sucks.

Ignore the NOED comments. It is just engrained in to the psyche of some survivors to always complain about it. NOED only helps you at the very end of the match, which you likely aren't getting much use out of anyway. It won't stop some people from complaining, anyway. It's good for more experienced players, though. Not a good newbie perk, though.

Keep plugging away. If you need to, disable post game chat. Meyers is a good killer, so don't give up on him. Maybe watch some youtube videos of people playing him. You will need better perks, as well as items and addons to make the most out of him, but don't waste them until you feel more confident playing him.

I just wanna say that idk what your talking about cause myers definitely does suck there's a reason you would lose as myers every single time if you play vs a good swf

  • some of y'all really never play the killers you complain about and it shows

I had no idea about any of this prior to this thread by the way, I learned as I read what you guys have wrote, but as it stands the most reasonable person here by far has been you, StarLost, and while this is just a gaming forum I want to compliment you on your brain.

You shared possibly controversial thoughts that were extremely valid and made a lot of sense, I happen to also agree with what you said in the entire thread, but even if I did not I would at least consider the things you wrote and possibly change my own opinion!

Thank you. I am often the one in my "group" or social life who tends to speak the "uncomfortable truths" that no one else really wants to agree with despite my logic being very reasonable and sound, it's just honestly nice to see that I'm not the only one in the world <3

EDIT: I saw some others mentioning that this Thread might get shut down if people aren't careful because of this Topic - but honestly I really hope that it doesn't because this has been legitimately the most interesting Thread I've read on these Forums in a VERY long time. It actually has brightened my day and put me in a better mood (especially after having a few terrible matches as Killer on Haddonfield with Boon Totems ><)

Time spent being chaotic is essentially a myth. You can clearly tell what is happening to your teammates by watching their icons. Most offensive powers show when they are affecting survivors, you can tell when obsession is being chased by the spider legs wiggling, you know when they get hit and get downed, get healed a health state, and when they're on the hook. People take for granted how much info that is already and discount the fact that people by in large if they aren't being chased or in TR just stay on gens. There is very little chaos in DBD unless they're day one new.

I'm sorry to say this but clearly you've never played solo queue with bond and kindred you'll get hooked once after looping the killer for 5 gens and your teamates will be jumping in and out of lockers in the corner of the map and walking slowly towards you while crouching and going back and forth lol

I think we need to think about this, if there are let’s say, 50 main problems and 80 bugs for each platform and there are only 800 devs they can hardly split up people to work on each issue. So let’s just be patient and let them fix the issues.

Usually, my teammates and I cannot loop the killer and therefore do not have time to start all the generators. Why doesn't MMR take into account that the survivor dies in almost every match? It seems to me that the MMR system gives survivors a killer to compensate for lost matches, not a killer to survivors. The survivor will always die.

the issue comes with the fact of how the new mmr system works if your a survivor and you die first it lowers your mmr the most out of anyone in the game and if you lose mmr that means you are getting put with other people that also lost mmr and didnt escape so when you dont escape it just keeps putting you with potatoes that never escape because they also keep losing mmr

I hope you get my point basically

you only gain mmr if you escape

you only lose it if you die

so if you lose a bunch

you get put with people that always die

thus lowering your chances even more

honestly you just gotta loop better and try and lead the killer on a long chase for a few games so you can carry the team I wanna say I've reached high mmr these days cause even solo all my teammates slam gens and can loop good and do totems so really just try and focus on escaping a couple games in a row even if you have to play like a ######### and hide cause at higher mmr I find personally the teammates are pretty solid even solo

I was just concerned since "Bricked" is something new I haven't heard of and anyone would be scared if they heard their expensive console was at risk.

not even mad I just curse a lot lol

that and I hate when people try and deceive those that are less knowledgeable then themselves if I take my car to my mechanic i expect him to be straight up with me so i hate when people go on forums and lie against people that have literally paid to learn about the subjects they know

No offense exactly but that doesnt quite calm my nerves yet. There has been in a surge of hackers in dbd so who's to say what's real. I can't quite take a chance on most likely won't be affected if you understand

I'm telling from years of coding experience that your fine and people are exaggerating things and making ######### up dont believe me fine but 8 went to college for this ######### for years so I think that speaks for itself

    -i hate everybody- Abraham Lincoln

now does that sound real no because its not that's what people are doing

    making ######### up

This is the first I've heard of this and literally no where else is talking about it. I'm scared to play dbd now and I need to know exactly what on earth is happening?

nothing is happening there's a bunch of liars on the internet surprise surprise

I have experience in the matter too, thank you very much. What you claimed in the other thread was about ddos attacks, which I nor others have disputed afaik. You hit the nail on the head. What I think others are referring to, myself included is crashes to do with the hardware caused by in game events.

Now I will say my explanation from earlier can come across as incorrect as I used very layman's terms to get the point across. I could get more technical with the explanation, should anybody care. It addresses the fact a device can brick if the device is unplugged during a crash/freeze caused by a hacker.

oh yeah I'm not saying you dont have experience so far your the only one that seems knowledgeable about it no offense what you are saying is absolutely correct and you are right that unplugging or turning off could cause the save data to corrupt I agree with you 100%

all I'm saying is ik cause I've corrupted the save data on my ps4 and ps4 multiple times that you can just restart it and it will wipe your data and build a new database which yeah you lose all your data which sucks but all the dbd data is stored server side so the first time you log back on you'll get it back of course you'll lose your data for other games

but as far as ik from all my years of experience there is no code or anything you can do technologically wise that will ever prevent a system from turning on and off

corrupt data sure, fry your graphics or wifi card sure but I've never seen anything that prevents a system from receiving power and turning on asides from a lightning strike

Is this an issue I should worry about? Are there actually hackers destroying consoles roght now?

    no and no

anyone stating otherwise is more then welcome to debate with me because I can back up my facts with links and years of experience

  • it's not true at all I already explained in another thread I'm probably one of the only people on these forums besides the mods with actual coding experience and I'm telling you for a fact it is impossible to brick a console across the internet crash it sure but brick it is literally impossible and I mean that with every meaning of the word literally I can even link you guys my code and github if you would like proof which I have of my experience unlike everyone that is falsely claiming these things
