I see what you are saying.
How is it possible that the overall game population has a ratio of 1:5.45 and yet the queue is 1:50. That doesn't make any sense. Do Killers just drop out of the game after their match that night?
Sure, some survivors die early and enter the queue sooner but in my experience any death that occurs before exit gates or 1 maybe 2 gens remaining is followed quickly by the deaths of the rest of the survivors (2-3 minutes avg unless killer is being nice).
The queue is a reflection of the ratio overall. Survivors wouldn't be waiting 4-5 minutes on average late at night if the actual ratio was 1:5.45.
Survivors leave a match quicker, meaning there will be more within the queue. Killer queues are also much faster, meaning less of then will be in the queue as they are much more likely to find a lobby, thus removing them from the queue.
Therefore, the ratio is no where near as serious as 1:50 because it doesn't account for people within lobbies, the endgame screen, or in a match itself. Simply just the amount of people queuing within that second. And the very fast killer queues make the numbers seem substantially worse than they actually are.

He needs the treatment alot of killers need and have where their basekit is improved and those addons changed/nerfed.
For example the best addons are the purple chilli and green engravings(is that the right name? The increase speed one). If we was to add some of chillies effect base and change the purple addon would be a good start
Omfg we should totally make Speed Limiter basekit 💫

Bullshittery
New Karuma "GBK" Hikarii perk
You're truly excellent at talking utter nonsense to get you out of a tricky situation.
After quickly vaulting a pallet or window, dropping a pallet, or quickly exiting a locker, Bullshittery activates. For the next 3 seconds, all of your scratch marks appear in the opposite direction to where you actually ran.
Bullshittery has a cooldown of 50/45/40 seconds.
"Yeah no I totally know this, um-"
Boon: Sturdy
Years of martial arts training has really paid off, and you know how to take a beating.
While within 24m of the Boon totem, become affected by the Hindered and Exhausted status effects for 5/4/3 seconds.
While injured, become affected by the Endurance status effect.
After being hit while Endurance is active within the Boon radius, the relevant totem is immidiately snuffed and broken.
"Try again, sweetheart x"

Hyperfixate
When something catches your attention, you need to know everything about it possible. And everyone around you should know, too.
Looking at any Prop allows you to mark it by using the Active Ability button, revealing it to all other players within the Trial. All Props within 60m of this Prop are revealed to you permanently while you're within a 60m/62m/64m range.
You never said they had to balanced, right..?
Inspired by Turbo I got some Killer perks, too. Taking the worst personality traits of mine and amplifying them to 300. And this time I have proper formatting.
Anger issues
Teachable "The Corrupted" Perk
Every time you're stunned by a pallet, Anger Issues gains a token. Hitting a survivor with a Basic Attack consumes all tokens.
When you have 4/3/2 tokens, the next Basic Attack will put any healthy survivor into the Dying State, bypassing all Endurance effects.
"Just me, or do the people here really piss you off?"
-GBK
Jealousy
Teachable "The Corrupted" Perk
You've never been good with sharing who's rightfully yours. Nor letting them do anything, actually.
Become Obsessed with one Survivor.
After your Obsession becomes fully healed by any means, all other Survivors are affected by the Exposed Status Effect for 40/45/50 seconds.
Hitting your Obsession afflicts them with the Haemorhage Status Effect.
You can only be obsessed with one survivor at a time.
Hex: Superiority Complex
Teachable "The Corrupted" Perk
They're beneath you. They've always been beneath you.
Whenever a generator is completed while the Hex is active, one Survivor at random becomes Targeted and Hex: Superiority Complex gains 1 Token, up to a maximum of 2/3/4 Tokens. No new Survivors can become Targeted when at maximum Tokens.
The Hex perk persists while the related Hex Totem remains standing.
"I'm just- I'm so sick and tired of your bullshit! I'm better than you, you know?!"

new status effect
Targeted
Targeted is a new Status Effect being introduced into Dead By Daylight. When a Survivor is Targeted, their aura is revealed permanently while outside of a 24m range, and they can be killed by your hand without needing to be hooked previously.

Sorry to be that guy, but how did they nerf CoH and boil Over now?
Is this a 2nd nerf to CoH? And did they revert Boil Over to being useless again?
I haven't had to time to go searching for the info.
Boil Over has been changed so the wiggle effectiveness is now 60%/70%/80% instead of 50%/75%/100% to help lessen the impact on controller players and standardise perk tiers.
Circle of Healing is having it's healing speed Bonus reduced to 40%/45%/50% down from 65%/70%/75%, adding about another 3 seconds onto the self heal.
Haemorrhage is also being reworked, if you were unaware; it now regressing healing progress when not actively being healed.
You can read all the changes + see most in action here:

the beginning
Hi.
You may know me as the guy that says he copy and pastes all of his intros, but he realises that actually they sound really bad like that and so subtly changes them each time, from summarising dev streams, or for being "rude and mean" for not upvoting an idea I fundamentally disagree with due to it creating an incredibly pay-2-win environment, but a little known hobby of mine is also collecting and compiling all of the changes in a PTB to help people playing on consoles, or who are away from a consistent source of internet at the moment, understand exactly what changes have taken place, and see all of the new changes!
Massive shoutout to @Sowbug for joining me and allowing the gameplay to be filmed effectively.
This post has been baking for about 6 hours now, so without further hesitation my name is GoodBoyKaru (GBK for short), and here is everything that is new on the 5.7.0 PTB.
patch notes | April Midchapter | 5.7.0 Public test build
So, for anyone that likes to read, here's the link to the official patch notes on this PTB:
Trying out different formatting this time round, let me know how it looks. If it's decent I'll probably keep it and start having some fun with the titles.
killer reworks | the legion
power
Legion's Feral Frenzy has received a bit of a change. It functions mostly the same as before, with 2 key differences:
- The Legion gains 0.2m/s movement speed for each fresh survivor hit during Feral Frenzy (up to a maximum of +0.8m/s), meaning they can now travel at a maximum speed of 6m/s.
- The 5th chained hit of Feral Frenzy will instantly put the survivor into the Dying State, ending Feral Frenzy.

add-ons
The Legion also got some new add-ons, which can be seen in the patch notes, but can also be seen here much easier. So here's every single Legion add-on as of 5.7.0

music
Best friend Leg got some new music this patch, check it out here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S4O8Qlmw7ho
Honestly, I really really like it. Reminds me of some absolute bangers that I still listen to lol. Frank's Mix Tape and Fuming Mix tape are absolutely the worst of the lot though. Like Joey's and Susie's and Julie's are all so much better it's not even funny.
killer reworks | the ghost face
power
Ghost Face's power got some slight tweaks, and some major bugfixes. His reveal and stalk mechanic have been technically revisited to ensure proper compatability with current dedicated servers, bugs relating to revealing have been fixed, and finally two changes have been made to the Marked mechanic:
- A Marked survivor is marked for 60s, up from 45s.
- A Marked survivor is unable to reveal Ghost Face by normal means. Cancelling his power through a stun or making him miss a swing still works, however.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/RIZIA5HKVQN1/image.png
addons
Ghost Face also got a full add-on pass! Here's all of his add-ons:

https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/F32U0B9CDOBU/image.png
music
Like our best friend The Leg, Ghost Face also got some new music! Check it out here:
Personally, it makes me ears bleed but here we are.
The realm beyond | haddonfield
Our favourite map, Haddonfield, has received a change, both graphically and gameplay wise. Here's a video of me taking a lovely stroll around on my customised Ultra Plus graphics and, yes, I did disable my colourblind and monitor-correction filters so this is how it is supposed to look:
Perk changes | Boil over, Circle of healing
Boil Over has received a change:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/1COJ4PGYPBHG/image.png
Boil Over now increases wiggle effectiveness by 60%/70%/80%, from 50%/75%/100%, to streamline perk levels and help reduce issues console players would face with the perk. Wiggling will receive further changes later on.
Boon: Circle of Healing has also received a change:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/LRPJARBK0MRF/image.png
Boon: Circle of Healing now increases all healing speeds by 40%/45%/50%, down from 65%/70%/75% to help reduce the effectiveness of the perk.
status reworks | haemmorhage
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BYPAPNTI5342/image.png
Haemmorhage has also received a much needed rework! It now regresses any healing progress at a rate of 7% per second, taking ~14 seconds to fully regress. Apparently though I've found a bug; here is it taking a minute:
Subsequently, Sloppy Butcher (generic perk) and Z-Block (Freddy add-on) have been changed. Here they are:
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7VHF43HHB0N7/image.png
Z-Block now inflicts Haemmorhage for 90 seconds, up from 60, however healthy survivors no longer bleed.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/BFJP93TRWST7/image.png
Sloppy Butcher now increases the speed at which healing regresses thanks to Haemmorhage. Please note that this 15%/20%/25% applies to the 7%, it doesn't make it regress at 32%.
other changes | difficulty update, engine update, patching
A couple more quick-fire changes:
- Difficulties have been reworked! Survivors no longer have a difficulty, and killers are now ranked from Easy to Very Hard.
Easy killers are fairly straight forward to pick up and play.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/R6PDIARA4JNU/image.png
Moderate killers share a lot of similarities to easy killers, however involve a few special mechanics or are more mechanically intensive.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A5K41A9FQ2HP/image.png
Hard killers have a couple of exclusive special mechanics and would be difficult to just pick up and play.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/7O7LVXBXBOY2/image.png
Very Hard killers are almost mechanically unique and would be difficult to see success with without lots of practice as them or many others to understand killer fundamentals.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/T7ICXGCXVNVV/image.png
If people want me to check the difficulty of a certain character, let me know and I'll reply with it.
- The Engine has been updated! We now are playing in Unreal 4.27, which will hopefully help optimisations further down the line too (though nothing has been confirmed).
- Downloads have been streamlined! "Pak" files have been changed to ensure that downloads and overall patching time are faster in the future (this will however need an almost full-game re-download).
the ending
And that concludes this summary. Once again, massive shoutout to @Sowbug for joining me in recording the gameplay and making having actual clips of it possible. Really appreciate this one man.
So here's some actual gameplay on the PTB to see these things in action:
And that's all. Have a good day folks
And no, I will never tire of shameless self promo.

FOV is a an important part of balancing so there shouldnt be a slider.
Theres a reason killers cant move their camera while kicking pallets etc.
Everything was balanced with the base FOV in mind.
Ah yes, my favourite aspect of balance, alienating a large percentage of the population from every playing because they suffer from motion sickness.
If it's so incredibly important, then have the amount it can be increased by capped. Essentially just make Shadowborn part of the options, I guess. But an FOV slider and other basic accessibility features should not be tied to a perk, it should be basekit and available from the settings.
-
Give an FOV slider basekit and rework Shadowborn and M&A. Accessibility shouldn't be a perk it should be a basic feature.
-
Date of the Anniversary is likely going to be the end of May/start of June.
Normally we get the full Anniversary Chapter reveal, like with Silent Hill + Ghost Face + Resident Evil.
No clue on the 3rd question.
I'll post my usual summary of it in case you can't watch the actual stream too, but idk when it'll be finished because it's in the literal middle of exam season 🕳️👩🏻🦯
-
It does all depend on your hardware, tbf. Mice just have a naturally lower latency than keyboards, unless you've got the uber expensive ones or lucked out (which I didn't), which is why skill checks are better on mouse buttons than they are on space bar for instance. If you're trying to teleport using control then you've gotta move your hand down slightly from WASD to hit control which then takes long to reach your game too, at which point all of those tiny delays add up.
This is why scroll wheel Hag is so good. Not only can you scroll in anticipation but you can also just react quicker.
If you are using scroll wheel/another mouse button then it could just be a bug, I honestly don't know.
-
Okay new plan: we fix the 5 year old Iron Will bug and survivors that are injured still breathe now.

My frustration doesn't come from it being nerfed into the ground but because it feels like they're using good perks as a bait and switch to get you into a character then once you buy unlock and level it it's gets nerfed.
To something not worth using or make you want to go back to the old playstyle before cause it's almost no different
I feel like that's how they sell single survivor DLCs. Ash vs Evil Read gave us Mettle of Man, it was busted, it got nerfed. Now Ash has 3 useless perks, and good riddance.
Hour of the Witch gave us COH, it was busted, it got nerfed. Now Mikaela has 2 good perks and 1 useless perk, and I'm still going to be seeing it everywhere in a couple of weeks when people realise that this nerf isn't that bad of a nerf after all.

If the problem lies around the lack of information sharing of solo queue, then the problem isn't around the perk, but the solo experience itself. With more ways to convey information to your teammates, maybe it would be easier to counterplay Tinkerer in an effective manner just like SWF could.
With more ways to convey information to your teammates, maybe it would be easier to counterplay Tinkerer in an effective manner just like SWF could.
I completely agree, but sadly that doesn't fix all of my gripes with the perk, like it being substantially better on stronger killers than weaker ones, making it seem a lot more like Dying Light in that it's a "win-more" perk rather than something that can give consistent value (PGTW, PR) or help you out when you're losing (No Way Out, Blood Warden). It's also got some semi-problematic combinations that I really dislike just in principle, hence why I think choice-restricting perks, items, add-ons and powers is probably best for long-term game health.
But believe me, I would happily leave Tinkerer completely well and truly alone for the rest of eternity if it meant we could get solo buffs to put them on-par with SWF. And honestly despite me advocating for a full Tinkerer rework, it's very low on the priority list of what I think would improve the game, and dealing with cheaters, sorting out DH and COH, and finally fixing maps for once are all much more important imho.

Well your comment made it seem like you were saying I said she was OP and you're then saying that Blight is much more so than Artist. Other interpretations would involve you bringing in something completely unrelated to the topic at hand, hence why I didn't go by them.

Blight with Alc ring.
What..?
-
There's a couple ways.
Short burst phases.
Footsteps (which are actually semi consistent on most maps now, finally!!).
Moving foliage/dust (if available)
Dried Cherry Blossom, however I wouldn't suggest this because it will build very bad habits and you'll be forced to run it every game
They're not the most consistent, and honestly I'm manifesting the day they put injured noises + breathing in a different folder so you still make some noise while injured with IW, but for now you can make do. As long as you're not on Swamp, anyway.

It does, pallet stuns last for like a second.
Yeah but, say, Head On is the full 3 seconds.
Honestly, that's a good thing imo. Old Enduring 3 vs Head On used to reduce the stun to the point where you could grab them mid Head On animation, and while Head On Squads can be incredibly frustrating, particularly on indoor maps, we don't need to be giving people any additional reasons to use Dead Hard or Sprint Burst

Well, in general, I am very pleased with the Artist and I hope he will not be nerfed. She is a very interesting killer and is able to often turn games even if you only give a couple of hooks and you have two gens left. She also great in terms of sound effects and animation.
I don't want her to be nerfed, I just don't think she's very well designed. A lot of players dislike the sound effects, think the prestige looks whack, dislike how her skins were (are) Prime exclusive, and just find her gameplay too similar to other killers except needing much more investment for similar results.
But she's one of 27 killers, and it's inevitable that at least one (if not more) will appeal only to a niche audience. Provided the people that play her like doing so, and she isn't horrifically overpowered (which she isn't) then I think she's fine.
-
@Mavericks said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2891336#Comment_2891336
I agree with you. But the fact is that she has a high cost of fault . If you get a little hung up and make a mistake with the crows, then it's a big waste of time.
But even then, she's still a 115% killer. Good Artist players will know when to just follow at 115 and when to place crows.
Shift W is really boring tho I wish that I wasn't forced to resort to it as survivor + wish I had a way to deal with it as killer consistently without playing characters that give me chronic motion sickness 🕳️👩🏻🦯

Thanks to how copyright laws work, there isn't. "The Creeper" is a character owned by... him, and anything using or involving the IP of Jeepers Creepers, or the character of The Crepeer, will give money to him, or following his death will give money to his estate for 100 years, when the character and IP become free for public use.

She finishes the chases in 10 seconds only against idiots who fixate on the first pallet loop. Survivors who just shift+w require a lot of thought and a bit of luck.
This is true of every anti loop killer except Blight, Billy, Nurse, Spirit, and all of those killers have powers not exclusive to anti-loop. Artist still has a better chase than Billy and out of all anti-loop no-mobility killers has perhaps the 2nd best anti-loop

People just don't want to learn. It was the Artist who became my main when I started playing in DBD. It is difficult to master, and when you understand how to play it, it becomes obvious that other ranged killers are not so effective. She's not very good at chasing, but no one is capable of putting that much pressure on the gens. And it's really cool when you get knockouts from the other end of the map. And even the chases sometimes end extremely quickly if you anticipate the survivor and take your time with the crows.
Please tell me you're not saying that Artist, one of the best killers in the chase game, is bad at chasing??

Any killer with mobility, yes, blight and nurse
Nurse, Billy, Freddy, Hag w/ Mint Rag, Spirit, Demo, Blight, Sadako.
Honourable shoutout to Artist for having no mobility but also getting great Tinkerer value, even if she is more suited to DMS.
Are all of these killers strong? No. Their mobility is also not equal. I'd argue that on a lot of them (Demo, Hag, Sadako, even Spirit bc of no Terror Radius) it's also not horrifically strong, and on killers like Freddy and Billy they're weak enough that it's hardly game breaking.
And yet this still poses the problem that a lot of killers (Nemesis, Pyramid, Doctor, Huntress, Slinger, etc) get very little to no value from the perk, while some get a lot lot of value. And while it's fine for killers to benefit more from certain perks than others (like Hoarder/Franklin's Pinhead, I'm All Ears Pyramid, Infectious Oni), in fact it's even pretty cool that that's the case, I really don't think Tinkerer is at all healthy because of this effect and other reasons.
Personally, I'd rather one of two things happen (except also, this is relatively low priority in terms of health of the game, and there are absolutely substantially more pressing issues like hackers, COH, DH, solo buffs, actually fixing maps for once, etc): either choice restrict Tinkerer and certain other perks/powers to prevent potentially problematic occurrences, or Tinkerer is given a new, still strong effect that's able to work well on every killer if that's at all possible.
And cool, this is my opinion. You're okay to disagree.

I mean sure. Same basic kit but I rather enjoy her. I dint think she is as boring as most make her out to think. She takes quite a bit of predicting and thinking. To me is more fun to have the challenge of it. Its not just "play run here and smack". You throw dire out, hit them, then predict where they are running around a building or loop and hit them again. So satisfying IMO to get a down when you predicted where they will run again.
Opposite for me, cannot stand playing her. Shift w is boring but also the best strategy against her, and playing her all I can think of is how much I'd rather be playing Pyramid Head.

Strong =/= fun
Her kit is a carbon copy of killers that came before her. She brings nothing new to the table and requires a lot of effort put into her to get her kit to properly click. The only things she can do that others can't - long range snipes - are massively ineffective in practice. You're better off playing Nemesis, Pyramid Head, Slinger, hell even Huntress. And people have realised this.

Its Based on rng,you can delete 2 out of this 3 just by looking for them (requires map knowledge,so that's on you) ,and you always use solo que as a scapegoat to justify literally anything you say,so if we nerf the killer side to balance to soloq players, swf becomes EVEN MORE opressive.
But that's Just my opinion.
I actually say that we should buff survivors in ways that can only benefit solo, and then superbuff killers, killer mechanics, and nerf maps. But nice try, just misinterpreted the argument there slightly.
Me thinking that there are things as killer that are too strong to consistently deal with in public games is completely separate to me thinking solo queue should be buffed. And even then, I'd rather advocate for choice restrictions and map changes than real nerfs to either side (except for things like COH or DH which just need to be completely reworked from the ground up).
But yes, I do think that R/U/T vs solos is unfair. I also think that it's a low-skill combo to help hold the hands of really terrible players who then go on to boast in endgame chat about how they're so good at the game, because they're bad winners and will always take the easiest route. Does this mean it is uncountable? Absolutely not. Things can have counters and still be unfair, imho.

So the Perk should get nerfed because Survivors don't want to learn how to split up?
The perk should be changed, not nerfed, to better account for the massive information gap, as well as make it so it has value on killers that have no mobility options too.
What this change is, I don't know; I've been trying to come up with rework suggestions to put into feedback but I'm a guy stressing about exams, I can't afford to spend every waking minute thinking about it.
Should it be nerfed because Survivors don't want to split up? No. It should be changed because of the intrinsic flaws within the design of solo queue that no amount of matchmaking can fix.

You still think ruin undying tinkerer is overpowered lmao
I don't think it's an entirely fair combo to be using in the current state of the game vs Solo Queue, correct.
Like I don't think that using DH/BT/IW/UB/DS/DB/Adren etc. in some combination in a 4man stack is particularly fair, either.
I'm so sorry that I have an opinion.

I'm gonna be completely honest I think this is the first time I've seen you genuinely positive about something and it's a really nice thing to see :)

Tinkerer is fine. It’s Blight and Nurse that need changes.
No tf it isn't?
Any killer with a marginal amount of mobility makes it hell to deal with in solo queue where you can't coordinate Tinkerer procs. The perk is absolutely problematic.
