oh really, every 5 levels? its not been like that on ANY killer. and i have6 or 7 ay level 50. never have prestiged any of them.

The teachable varients themselves (orange coloured) should spawn at levels 30, 35, and 40 each, and should not stop spawning from the web at each subsequent level until you collect them. Check your "Character Info" tab to ensure they haven't been unlocked, and if not then this is a serious matter for Support because your game seems to be the only one to have not given you teachables.

  • So apparently not only am I subbed to Otz but also Samination, wonderful.

And I'd just started running a self care build :(

What about with Desperate Measures and Resilience on top?

Okay so, this may look challenging but I promise it isn't and I'll break down the final answers.

    formula

The formula we use is this below:

    Overall action speed = Total Charges / ((1 * (1 * ((1 - individual penalty) * (1 - individual penalty)) * (1 + (total additive action speed bonuses))

With this formula, we first calculate in any negative effects (those that slow down the action) before then calculating in any bonuses to get the overall action speed.

Now, the unique challenge presented here is that Desperate Measures has 4 different levels of power (14%, 28%, 42%, 56%) but don't worry, I've calculated them all in individually.

Therefore, for this specific calculation, we'll be using this one here:

    Overall action speed = 16 / ((1 * (1 * (1 - 0.65) * (1 - 0))) * (1 + (1 * (0.5 + 0.09 + [DESPERATE MEASURES]))))

We can already simplify this formula into the following:

    Overall action speed = 16 / ((1 * (0.35)) * (1 + (1 * (0.5 + 0.09 + [DESPERATE MEASURES]))))

I'll be showing my workings on my notepad document because it's far simpler for me to read and it makes sure there's no errors transcribing the notes.

    calculations

    1 injured

    image.png

    2 injured

    image.png

    3 injured

    image.png

    4 injured

    image.png

    overall conclusion

Using the perk combination Botany Knowledge, Resilience, and Desperate Measures, you can quite substantially increase your self-heal speed from the 45.71 seconds it would take you to heal with just Self-Care.

With 1 person injured, your self-heal time is 26.42 seconds.

With 2 people injured, your self-heal time is 24.45 seconds.

With 3 people injured, your self-heal time is 22.74 seconds.

With 4 people injured, your self-heal time is 21.26 seconds.

I hope this answers your question.

    TL;DR - it's always slower.

You're right. But, they're getting plenty of Green Medkits for the 3 other survivors who are stacking Sprint Burst + Off The Record + Borrowed Time, and those 3 no longer need to run CoH

Honestly 6 heals between them compared to, you know, infinite sounds much better. And in solo queue this strategy has 0 chances of working, so you essentially need to be in a 4man SWF who actually gaf about winning. And even then, you'd be more of an asset to the team if you just did gens injured and healed when you had a moment spare between people rather than have someone run around injured opening chests for a couple minutes.

  • Sadly with the exact strategy you described and locker placement, if all 4 Survivors are crowding around and the 2 not in a locker can make it to a completely different set of double lockers there's very little you can do. Usually you can ignore those in the lockers and harass those on the gens and hit-and-run until you win, but unfortuantely that's not possible with everyone doing the locker saves, and it's just downright boring tbh

    All Kill was a flop.

I’ve been saying this for a while - trickster isn’t even that good, but he can’t be buffed without being op. He’s a “in most cases one side can’t do much” killer, in that at low wall loops survivors just go down, and at high wall loops it’s very difficult to use your power and you’re basically just a 110 killer, but you might eventually get a down in 44 knives. In other words, he’s extremely tile-dependent. And he’s one of the best at camping.

So yeah. I hate going against him and don’t play him because getting downs with him doesn’t feel satisfying. I’d much rather go against a huntress where there is fair counterplay for both sides, even though she’s stronger than him.

With the exception of Trickster's Power, All-Kill was actually a very good chapter. It brought us possibly the best characters lore-wise (Yun-Jin Lee and Trickster have amazing interconnected lore, both in their base stories and Tome lore) which BHVR seem to have tried (and failed) at replicated with Portrait of a Flop. It gave us some wonderful visual designs, with Trickster's design being fantastic and I am fully prepared to die on this hill, and Yun-Jin came to serve and serve she did. The perks are happily sat in the whole "not meta-changing but also not awful" territory, which is better than a lot of chapters actually, and generally it's a good chapter if you ignore Trickster's actual power.

Unfortunately, because of his Power (and lack of a map, God imagine the burned down No-Spin studio as a map) All-Kill can't claim the spot of 2nd best Chapter of Year 4. That has to go to Descend Beyond (but I think we can all agree that out of All-Kill, Binding of Kin, Descend Beyond, and Silent Hill, that the Silent Hill chapter was the best by a long shot).

  • I thought we'd agreed on that one a while ago tbf but I'm glad people are speaking up

    Thank you @GoodBoyKaru

However, I am not understanding this math. If that formula is correct, then it should work both ways, which it doesn't.

    16 Charges / (0.35 charges in * (1 + 0.5)) = 16 / (0.35 * (1.5)) = 16 / 0.525 = 30.47619047619047619047619047619 = 30.48 seconds

    16 Charges / (0.5 charges * (1 + 0.35)) = 16 / (0.5 * (1.35)) = 16 / 0.675 = 23.70 seconds

    Also

    16 Charges / (1 + 0.35) = 11.85 seconds for a Self Care.

    Not quite.

    16 Charges / (0.5 charges * (1 + 0.35)) = 16 / (0.5 * (1.35)) = 16 / 0.675 = 23.70 seconds

This doesn't work because you're taking the base speed and the bonuses and flipping them, which breaks the formula. If we were using

    0.5 charges * 1 + 0.35 vs 0.35 charges in * 1 + 0.5

Then everything would be fine, but we aren't. The parenthesis make all the difference here because they change the fundamental way you perform the operations, giving us different numbers.

If we were to explain it using algebra, the formula used would be:

    t / (h * (1 + (b)))

Where t = Total healing speed; h = individual healing speed; and b = botany knowledge bonus. Suddenly flipping h and b around in that formula makes it a completely different formula.

    16 Charges / (1 + 0.35) = 11.85 seconds for a Self Care.

This formula is also wrong. If we're being specific, the actual formula is:

Healing Charges / (Individual Heal speed * (1 + (Additive healing speed bonus)))

So, we plug in the numbers

    16 / (0.35 * (1+0))

Because there are no bonuses. Work that one through:

    16 / (0.35 * (1)) = 16 / 0.35 = 45.714285714285714285714285714286 = 45.71 seconds.

Where you went wrong with this one is that you assumed we were adding the 1 and not multiplying the 1.

    Hope this helps!

Yeah I calculated with percentages too so now I'm confused on whats happening.

Basically BHVR maths and regular maths had a falling out

If it's any consolation I have to look up how to do the calculations each time.

  • It's not as scary as you think, and here's the maths as to why:

Self-Care is being nerfed in the next patch to heal at 35% heal speed at tier 3, while Botany Knowledge is being buffed to 50% bonus healing speed. To calculate the healing speed with both perks in play, we use this formula:

Healing Charges / (Individual Heal speed * (1 + Botany Knowledge bonus))

Therefore, if we plug in the numbers:

    16 Charges / (0.35 charges in * (1 + 0.5)) = 16 / (0.35 * (1.5)) = 16 / 0.525 = 30.47619047619047619047619047619 = 30.48 seconds

It will take ~30.48 seconds to heal with Self-Care and Botany Knowledge next patch, not 18.8 seconds.

After stunning the Killer by any means, Catch Me If You Can activates. For the next 3 seconds, all scratch marks, pools of blood, and grunts of pain will spawn in the opposite direction to where you ran, relative to the location of the stun.

Catch Me If You Can has a cooldown of 60/55/50 seconds.

    Killer Perk: Brutality

Her power is useless. I'm trying to remember if any version of any other killer has ever been as bad as her.

Any version of any other killer?

Trapper, Hag, Wraith, Legion, Myers, Clown, Doctor, Freddy, Pig, Bubba, Spirit, Ghost Face, Trickster. If we're not including PTB versions then cross off Spirit and Ghost Face.

All of these killers have, at some point within the history of the game, been weaker than Sadako is currently.

Remember sabotaging Trapper traps, or when Wraith had no speed boost post-phase, or when Hag took 5 seconds to place a single trap and her teleport distance was about as far as you walk? Remember Doctor having to change stances or Old Freddy after the devs nerfed him on instinct and left him like that for 2 years, or even when Bubba was the worst killer in DBD and revving a chainsaw for 3.5 seconds to use it would make you lose distance so you'd be lucky to get a down in the open?

She's no where near as weak as they've all been in the past. I speak from experience.

  • Honestly she no weaker than Myers, I'd say. Probably better than him.

But does it matter that she's not the best? A large amount of the community seem to have agreed that her descriptors are "Weak but fun", and honestly she has better perks than Pinhead imho while not being tied to an EnEffTee either. Sadako > Pinhead any day of the week.

They didnt state that they removed the block-off effect, just the screaming effect. that would mean their statement would have been incorrectly worded as theyre different mechanics.

The reason you get off the generator is because of the scream. It's just like when Doctor uses his Static Blast and you scream and are interrupted with whatever action you're currently doing. DMS will no longer synergise with PR to allow for an instant 45 second block, and you'll still have to go and actively push someone off of a generator to get DMS value.

Deadlock, meanwhile. Now that will be a camper's best friend.

  • Bad news, they're not deleting it.

Good news, they have an RPD rework tentatively scheduled for Autumn 2022, with more details to come when available. And so far, they've stuck to their announced goals.

  • "and faster gen speeds than before"

This is the (admittedly only) part of the post I really take issue with, and I'll explain why below.

I'm writing this with the assumption that the above phrase means gen times overall will have increased with Prove Thyself. However, if you mean "I will have faster generator speeds while using Prove Thyself on the new patch than without using Prove Thyself on the old patch", then I'd still suggest reading the numbers because the answer is "it depends".

Gen speeds are not faster than before. Here's my reasoning as to why:

    calculations

In the current patch, here's how long it takes to repair a generator:

    image.png

When we include Prove Thyself into the equasion, we get these numbers:

    image.png

(The Wiki is in the process of renovating itself for the new update, hence the bugged scripts. Nevertheless the numbers are correct, I checked them, but this is more presentable than my workings)

In the next patch (with 90 second generators), here are those same calculations:

    image.png

Objectively slower so far, but we can include Prove Thyself (and unfortunately will not be including all of my workings because they are hell to read through, even for me, but the summarised version is below):

    image.png

    comparisons

As we can see from the numbers above, without Prove Thyself:

    • 2 People working on a Generator takes 5.88 seconds longer
    • 3 People working on a Generator takes 4.75 seconds longer
    • 4 People working on a Generator takes 4.55 seconds longer.

    With Prove Thyself:

    • 2 People working on a Generator takes 5.12 seconds longer
    • 3 People working on a Generator takes 3.67 seconds longer
    • 4 People working on a Generator takes 3.13 seconds longer.

    conclusion

So basically, this probably wasn't worth it, but with the new update without factoring in any perks to slow down, speed up, or regress generators except Prove Thyself then Generator speeds are always slower than they will be on live servers. Overzealous after cleansing a Hex Totem I could see possibly making a difference, but that needs the killer to bring a Hex Perk (and since Ruin has been gutted, there's literally 0 reason to bring a Hex ever outside of adepts). I think, if we were to factor in other perks and items into the calculations, we would still see the trend of slower generator speeds without fail (though the number will grow smaller and smaller).

The only thing which increases gen speeds that won't change is when 4 people use a Brand New Part together. As they always repair 25% of a generator over 5 seconds, then 4 people using a BNP will always take 5 seconds regardless of how long generators are.

TL;DR - Gen speeds have not increased in the next patch so you will not be receiving faster generators.

I could have played better and should have anticipated the noed (which is another thing that perk and dead hard should have gotten nerfed harder). But the feng that got facecamped first did not deserve what happened to her. I felt bad. This bubba was also a twitch streamer don’t worry I wasn’t toxic towards him compared to his next opponents. All I asked was “why” and he says “because it’s fun and easy.” Great. Then has the audacity to say “ggs”. Him in chase is fine I don’t have a problem. But his camping is ridiculous. Yeah, it's all about the anti-cheat I guess.

    That clears things up.

In which case, yes it's an EAC issue of it not being one of the versions which supports Linux which the Steam Decks runs on. BHVR have confirmed it's a future plan to add support but outside of the word "future" we have no clear date as to when this will be. Sorry, man.

  • @JackOfTrades said:

Ah....So they actually have to get an Anti-cheat? (or am I understanding wrong?)

No, they already have one (Easy Anti-Cheat, EAC: https://www.easy.ac/en-us/; It's used in quite a few games and was made by Epic Games). EAC never used to support Linux, however after Steam Deck was announced then versions which do support Linux began to be released. If EAC is what is currently holding them back from the port I don't know, but I know that EAC was what was holding them back. I don't have Linux on my PC (used to have Ubuntu on my old one but that was from 2014) so I can't check it myself tragically.

  • To quote from a QnA way back when:tm:

"BHVR has plans to implement support for the Steam Deck at a later date, however this will not be ready for launch and we have no timeframe for this to announce at this time."

Basically, Steam Deck uses Linux, which BHVR's version of Easy Anti-Cheat doesn't support. An updated version of EAC to support Linux was released but I don't know if BHVR have updated to a version which allows support, nor do I know of any other technical difficulties (which there most certainly are) which prevent an immediate port.

Well becuz transgender identify with the opposite gender giving at birth but non binary does not identify as male or female its different

Some non-binary people label themselves as trans, some non-binary people don't. As far as I know the labels aren't interchangeable, and while there can be (a lot of) overlap the two terms do mean different things.

Trans is an umbrella term, non-binary is also an umbrella term just covering far less than trans does and being covered by trans. So @Marigoria is right on this one, but it does all depend on what someone wants to be labelled as.

Well you just proved my point in a way. If they punished the innocent majority who earned those cosmetics fairly just because of fringe cases that only involved less than a handful of people then why is the same logic now not valid? Using the same logic that led to the removal of masks, wouldn't it be better to just eliminate any extra outlets for people to be toxic rather than add it? That's my perspective on it and like I said, it has nothing to do with not supporting the community or feeling negative towards it. For me its more about picking a stance and sticking to it. I'm fine with them adding anything and everything into the game concerning this specific topic as long as it meant they weren't going to later remove it to virtue signal based off random incidents. I am personally salty still over the way the Bubba incident was handled and feel like they need to be consistent then if that's how they want to handle those types of situations

If they add it then cool that's fine with me, If not then cool because its less fuel in the DBD fire. Just my opinion and I know I'm not the only one who feels the same. More power to BHVR for whatever path they choose

There are 2 major differences between the situations you're failing to address:

    1) People had no choice in the matter when facing the blackface Bubba cosmetics. They had zero autonomy in that situation for they could not control the cosmetics, charms, or characters others play. People do have control over their own characters, cosmetics, and charms, and so should be open to the fact that immature scumbags can't control their hatred of queer people and that they are more than capable of reporting them.

    2) Blackface Bubba was a genuinely semi-commonly occurring thing. Even I dealt with it several times over when I was playing Claudette. The Asian mask wasn't much better, either.

The only time I've ever heard of people reporting others for killing them while playing with a pride charm on/as David King is in hypothetical arguments used to scaremonger or obvious satire between friends who meet across matches. I have never seen someone falsely accuse another of doing this, through my own experience nor that of anyone I talk to (and trust me, my dbd contact web is wide). The only times it's ever brought up are when it actually happened, confirmed by the killer within post-game chat because bigots just can't help themselves but to proudly exclaim to the world that they're an immature waste of oxygen.

  • A killer that isn't an accessibility nightmare tbh

But yo imagine a firefighter caught in the blaze and twisted and corrupted by the Entity's hand into someone who can shoot and control fire. The Pyromaniac.

  • Sure, it tells you when someone's on a regressing generator, but there's 2 key things that it doesn't do.

-Doesn't allow you to automatically interrupt high-priority gens without map knowledge of who is where and since when have they been there.

-If a gen hits 0, it also deactivates, meaning they will have to patrol a gen with no progress this increasing time

It could be anything as long as it's more or less unique (and short to not be disruptive), when I started those emojis were among my most recently used ones so I used them.

Oh sweetie it is. And that's why this suggestion is also perfectly normal.

The only non-normal thing here is how defensive people are getting over things they say they don't care about (and how some seem to think that being non-binary is a sexuality).

They are political by virtue of following a sociopolitical agenda, in this case a western cultural agenda, reason why you will not see many LGBT characters in eurasian media (for the most part) - they do not fit in their description of what an ideal society should look like. Whether that agenda is good or not is up to discussion but given this game has a primarily western audience it really would not hurt BHVR to go full diverse.

LGBT people have existed and will always exist regardless of whatever politics go on in the world. LGBT+ existence is entirely biologically natural. LGBT+ existence is not political.
