So in other words you provide no proof at all about people saying Blight was going to be bad lol.
Damn bro im so sorry I was on the train and didn't want to write an essay analysing word for word the videos of content creators from the Blight PTB

Unless I am massively misremembering, Dowsey, Otz, Scott, Monto, all thought Blight was going to be great.
Who is it, exactly, that you are saying thought Blight would be bad. Don't just say "look at the reaction to PTB Blight."
Scott I remember quite distinctly saying, to PTB Blight (before the devs came out and said they uploaded an earlier version to the PTB), that Blight had the potential to be good however the bump hitbox held him back too much.
Furthermore the usual forum members who overdramatise everything said he'd be trash too but I can't remember the exact usernames of them since it's been a while.

WHO, WHERE said Blight was going to be weak on release lol. Blight on first iteration was "wow this is gonna be good. high mobility killer with some pretty good lethality and an actual good new perk."
I don't know a single person who didn't think Blight was going to be at minimum a "good" killer
Literally look at the reaction to PTB blight.

Ask yourself this. Why is it bad behavior? Is it not your job as a killer to kill the survivors? Why is proxy camping a "bad" thing to do? Simply because it causes survivors to not have fun?
These ridiculous arbitrary rules this community has put on itself is as much a problem with the game as the devs that keep screwing it up.
Stop thinking that tunneling is toxic, its not, its smart. Tunneling a weak link out of the game is one of the best ways to bring the balance back killer sided. Proxy camping is one of the absolute best ways to continue macro pressure. You don't need to tunnel someone off the hook, but you can chase the rescuer. Now you KNOW you have one person injured who isn't doing gens, and you're chasing someone else. You have 50% of the survivor workforce off their objectives.
Killer is literally standing next to the hooked survivor and not letting anyone near? Well that sucks, but the killer now loses. 3 survivors do 5 gens by the time a survivor goes from 1st hook to dead, assuming survivor doesn't miss skill checks.
People, on both sides, and the devs themselves, need to realise the constant rng at play means this game will never be competitive and so both sides should be able to have as much fun as possible
-
Ironically I got my adept there, but this was moreso survivors throwing than my cenobite prowess.
Generally the game is just one of the worst maps for killer in the game and a lot of killers are close to auto-lose there

Wasn't the effectiveness against console killer the reason 360s were invented? And soon after also used on PC?
I can't remember the time before the console version very well but i think that 360s weren't really a thing before then. But that might also be because the game had other methods still implemented and they were unnecessary at that time.
Nah 360s have been here for absolutely ages. I remember late 2016 videos with them in

The killer just came out this week and you're already shouting for nerfs before you even take any time to learn how to survive against him?
Go play him, do a few hundred Lery's trials and then formulate your conclusion. Don't do it after playing half a dozen matches against him.
Same argument could be made about people screaming for buffs before they've learned to play him. Remember when people said Blight and Twins would be weak upon their release? Once the bugs were fixed- and Twins even got nerfed- here we are.

Oh don't worry that part I'm celebrating.
-
Basically you want to either do it before the Chain Hunt starts, or you'll want to find some nice corner with high walls to solve it in to stop as many chains harassing you.
Or kidnap the box permanently and run around the map going for saves and trying to be chased, sometimes tapping gens, just to listen to the music :)
-
Unfortunately people in this thread are correct, as confirmed by Mandy. Nothing happens.
Nothing except sadness.
-
I remember spins actually being more effective on console killers than pc ones, and that was unironically one of the arguments against crossplay. This was probably due to massive frame drops that still happen, and lakc of optimisation is a better argument than just being spun but I digress.
So the blame hardly lands with pc players.
Also, my friend used to play on console and spins 60x better there than he ever could, or can, on PC.
-
@topic The server received their command to drop and registered the stun at the 50% point than it received your command to hit. Hits through pallets are still possible. I've been hit through pallets, and I've hit through pallets, even while a survivor was camping.
Unless your ping if garbage, or if it's immaculate, it doesn't happen particularly frequently.
-
@ThiccBudhha said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2495431#Comment_2495431
No, a survivor mistiming a pallet should get punished with a trade. If you didn't want to risk it, predrop and hold w. It was stronger anyways.
Now? I mean, might as well camp it a bit. Why not?
I agree that if you mistime it you should be punished, however this was implemented to counter the fact that you literally get advantages for having worse ping in this game
-
1) More competitive, at least for me, because me playing casual in the old system put me here where I am forced to play sweaty or not play at all, in the case of Pyramid Head.
2) Return to rank until they can either make this actually work or have SBMM used in ranked games and make a casual queue based on ranks.
3) Killers. Survivor gameplay is mostly unaffected, in my experience. My killer games have been sweatier, and where I was once getting near-instant queues I'm now waiting between 5 and 30 minutes for most killers, and over an hour for Pyramid Head.

That's... that's a Meciless killer...

This is how the perk should work. After the explosion, damaging 6% of the generator, or about 4.8 seconds of progress, the generator begins to regress normally at 0,5 charges per second.
However, it may be similar to Surge in that, if a survivor is working on the generator while the explosion goes off (and thus is incapacitated) the regression doesn't start since it thinks the survivor being on the generator stops the regression.

Frustrating, yes. Should be removed, yes. However if it was an exploit that's this well known and this long in the game, why hasn't it been removed and/or bannable.

Hi. Randomly came into this thread, no idea whats going on, this is just the most recent comment in the thread. I'd say about 90% of the people that play this game know more about DBD than the Devs.
You may have a point in terms of balance, fun, etc, but when what the devs are saying is echoed by so many people in both experience and the one time the code got leaked itself then I'm inclined to trust the majority, including the devs, over one person on the forums insisting it must be a network issue

I feel like there should be some form of mechanic that at least just auto-ends the game after a certain duration. Chess has a similar thing called draw by repetition where if the same position occurs 3 times, the game can be ended as a draw, just so the game does not last infinitely long doing nonstop back and forth.
You see, that would need a QOL feature to be implemented and, rather tragically, the company seems to hate doing that.

The killer having to chase after bait like that is throwing the game though. That’s just giving away generator progress for free after the killer successfully 3-genned them when it was entirely preventable before it got to that point. That’s my point of contention. I agree with what you’re saying, but it would also seem unreasonable to mandate a killer to chase in that situation.
To which I agree- it would make zero sense to force the killer to chase a survivor and throw the game in the process, all to avoid being reported. That would just be harmful for the game.
Which is why I take my stance of "It's not a hostage situation as both were trying". It's a battle of attrition at this point- who will make a mistake first. The game is guaranteed to eventually progress as a mistake is guaranteed to be made, after all, and both sides are attempting to progress the game forward.

Except the devs literally stated in the screenshots from OP that actively not repairing generators is bannable.
They've also stated that stealthing around is entirely valid, and chosing to not work with or trust your teammates is a style of play they support too.
In more extreme cases, like two or three survivors doing nothing for several minutes, then it should 100% be bannable but if we follow their statement word for word then the brand new survivor player who's scared out of their wits and so hiding in a corner and crouching everywhere is reportable for holding the game hostage.
-
I mean, 500k bp for them messing up is the same as 250k for being Iridescent 1 on both sides (250k x 2)

Except the killer’s role is both sacrificing survivors AND preventing escape (via preventing gens from going, hence the Gatekeeper Emblem). Survivor role is to finish the generators so they can escape. One is intended play. Hiding on the opposite end of the map and never touching generators is refusal to participate in normal gameplay, hence the example Peanits said is bannable. This is why I’m asking BHVR staff whether just chase baits and never touching generators is fine.
Not quite. The survivor's job isn't to do generators, the survivor's job is to escape. To survive. That's it. The generators are a means to an end.
The killer's job isn't to sacrifice survivors, it's to prevent their escape. You could argue these two things are too closely linked to make a real distinguishment but there is a difference there (look at Pyramid Head or Moris, for example).
Stealth is a valid tactic to escape (hiding in a bush, for example), however it's when they do nothing that it becomes a hostage situation. These survivors were still acting and, again, it can be assumed that if the killer had chased one the others would have began generator repairs. Which is why I don't think it is a hostage situation- as the game can still progress easily. By the killer going for a survivor.
-
When I (rarely) play on controller- PS4 Dualshock- I have the vaults and chain breaks on X instead of that being the gen repair, as well as skill checks. Gen repair remains a trigger button.
-
The smart play is to work on objectives near the box, if possible, and then while he's busy pick up the box and solve it, or take the box to an open-ish area (lots of LOS) with resources around you can deal with him in if he teleports.
The me play, and so objectively best play, is to hold the box all game because the music is relaxing.
-
Let's do a bit of reading, shall we?
"As a thank you for your patience while we work on a fix for these issues, we will be delivering 500K Bloodpoints to all players."
And once more,
"As a thank you for your patience while we work on a fix for these issues, we will be delivering 500K Bloodpoints to all players."
Once more for the people in the back,
"As a thank you for your patience WHILE WE WORK ON A FIX FOR THESE ISSUES, we will be delivering 500K Bloodpoints to all players."
Clear enough yet?
-
I do not believe this counts as a hostage situation because an attempt is still being made to complete generators. The survivors do not wish to be hurt, and so will attempt to run the killer away from the 3gen, however as they keep returning over and over it's showing they are making an attempt, and were the killer to follow some bait then generator progress would be made.
However, as I'm unsure, I'm pinging in @MandyTalk in hopes she can shed some light into the situation.

Exept rank dont matter its only show how much you play with that role for this month. You wont have easier adept because you are paired with similar player because of the sbmm.
You will absolutely have an easier time getting adepts.
The Merciless line for Iridescent Grade is 4 Iridescent emblems. For Ash it's significantly less.

This will be the last time I make a comment here because a mod is hawk-eying this thread and seems to be hyper-sensitive.
I would really like to know actual performance issues that can't be chalked up to your network problems and/or hardware problems, console or not. I have an Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and a PC slightly better than the Series X. I NEVER run into performance issues maybe except the Xbox One. Which is pretty obvious why but I have to choose my words carefully because the hyper-sensitive nature of the people here involving the old consoles.
AGAIN, I've have watched nearly every "performance issue" clip in this thread and 90% of them are network issues. Either your connection is just not cutting it at times, the server hit a hiccup, or there is a bug with certain interactions in the game that cause the server to crap itself. Just to remind you, actual optimization/performance issues are followed by a huge dip in framerate or frames being held up for to long (micro-stutters....but micro-stutters are not anywhere near as common as it can be on PC but is usually due to hardware/setting issues). If you notice is nearly all the clips, there is a freeze then the gamestate playing "catchup" and seems to fast forward within a couple hundred milliseconds. This is a network issue. Either from you or the server. If you notice just you seemed to be dazed by the "freeze", then it's your network. If you notice the survivor your chasing or the killer your running, seems to be dazed after the "freeze" then it was a server hiccup.
If anyone here wants to truly help this "problem" some of you think is plaguing the old generation consoles, it's important it distinguish between actual optimization issues or network issues.
All I'm saying is that when a PS4 has constant stuttering and never hits a consistent 60fps while looking like, well, DBD, but Resident Evil Village can play like this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51VpVPimH2g&tIt's a game issue, not a console issue.

How is your search time with other killers?
Off-mains like Nurse and Wraith were between 6 and 30 minutes. Legion was a 4 minute queue but the next game was about 25 before I gave up. New killers, or killers I rarely touch, still going above 5 minutes. I haven't had a queue time below 5 minutes yet.
-
Yes. Pyramid Head is upwards of an hour, and previous peak times (insta queues) took about 4-6 minutes. On killers I play frequently like Legion, Wraith, and Nurse the queues were also obnoxiously long- like, 20 minutes long.
On Ghostface and Pinhead- who I never play and never played- queues were still over 7 minutes long. For a match vs SWF- like a legitimate sweat one with clan names, stacked perks and items, and I checked their profiles to triple check and they were friends on Steam.

I've been getting instant survivor queues since the update, so they probably shifted the dynamic somehow.
Me too, doesn't mean the games are any more fun. It's still the same awful teammates combined with the same RuinUndyingTinkerer Blight, Spirit, and Nurse. Throw in some Slinger and solo-q is so much fun!
-
What seems like a better deal:
- You do not get a Chain Hunt in exchange for a near permanent 3v1
- You get a Chain Hunt but you must deal with 4 survivors, who can finish 3 generators before the Chain Hunt begins and the 3v1 would then begin as 1 survivor is sent off to deal with the box

Q: "Hey, Do you have an update on the cross progression feature that was supposed to be added to the Switch version of the game? I just hope it didn't get cancelled. I understand that you have a lot of other things to do, but are you still working on this?""
A: "Sure do (but it is a smol update)
We're still ironing out some details with our partners before we are ready to go live with Switch cross progression. It's something the team is still working on, but we are unable to commit to a firm date at this time."
So, the Q2 2021 deadline hasn't been reached and we don't have a replacement date yet.

Yep it's working just fine for me. I'm grouped with equally skilled players and games have gotten much easier as a solo survivor.
If you're getting grouped with "babies" don't blame the MMR blame your skill and ability because the game sees it as equivalent to the players it's placing you with.
In this one specific lobby I'm currently in as killer there is a 259 hour player, a 1,950 hour player, and a 3,004 hour player. I guess they're all equally skilled and the system works flawlessly?

No, it's had no improvement to survivor games, killer queues for my main have gone from instant pre-SBMM to over an hour post-SBMM, and half the selling point of individual SBMM ratings for killers still doesn't work because first game of Pinhead I ever played (today) had a 4k hours 4man in it (I checked; clan names + all on each other's friends list, because I was curious as to how good SBMM was).
But, I guess, BHVR knows best. Push something onto the community the majority didn't want when we can't see any of the data, or anything to guess ourselves if it's working or not except hours and just how a survivor players, because why not.
