Paying a tenner for every rift cosmetic ever (since let's face it, you'll be playing the game anyway), or paying 15 quid per cosmetic.
I wonder which is the better deal
-
Nah, not really. And so long as they ain't using the Ruin Undying Tinkerer build I'd gladly take a Blight over the games I've been getting recently.

TRICKSTER???? TRICK………..STER???????
I can’t believe this…
Also who tf is daddy dorito and is angy napkin Nurse?
Oh I of course don't mean gameplay wise. Hence Trickster.
Daddy Dorito is Pyramid Head. My guy's serving cake out there.
Angy Napkin is, indeed, Nurse. If we ignore her tome lore anyway.

What do you mean if I "let myself" get to that position.
So a survivor is running from me and gets to a pallet. If at any point I try to break the pallet, that's it. I'm blinded. My character goes into the pallet break animation, and the survivor just stands on the other side of the pallet and flashlights my face. As soon as pallet is broke, insta blind. More precious time wasted, and now he runs off.
Okay so.
Being blinded at a pallet has two easy counters. Over time, you'll learn the routes survivors take and can follow them pretty well. Alternatively you can perform the novel concept of listening to the footsteps and breathing of the survivor. Because your eyes are out of action doesn't mean your ears are.
Being blinded while being picked up has another very easy counter, looking at a wall. Alternatively you can bait out the pickup. However with this clarification something tells me you're not even talking about flashlight saves and only about flashlight blinds at pallets, which is perhaps even more telling of your status as a new player. I mean that in the nicest possible way but flashlights are some of the worst items and have plenty of counters.

Anyway, if Spirit and Artist aren’t two best killers who can possibly outmatch them?
Daddy Dorito, Trapperman, Billyboy, Wraith, Angy Napkin, Trickster, etc.

IF that's how it works, then there needs to be a delay to let the player regain control. Otherwise it's the same thing. You aim at the face during the animation and the player is insta-stunned a millisecond after, so in essence it's the same
If you've let yourself get to that position in the first place then you don't deserve another chance, provided the survivor is skilled enough. There are so many ways to avoid getting to this position that you actually have to put in effort to get flashlight saved a lot of the time.
If you've gotten to that point, you can still move away very quickly. You can avoid getting to this point so easily.
Flashlights are one of the weaker items in the game, and every second they spend trying to get a save is a second they spend doing nothing productive for the team. 4man flashlight squads are the easiest to deal with, because they won't be on the objective ever.

The accursed patch.
In all seriousness, I'm not sure if OP is confusing being blinded with being stunned. It kinda sounds like they are.
Also, I really do think flashlights need to be looked at to be more consistent.
Oh believe me I'd have no issues if blinds got the validation treatment. Make it more consistent and the fairest it's possible to be.
-
@SilentShepherd said:

No chance. I am insta-stunned before I can regain control every time.
If you're stunned while you're in an animation, it will do nothing. The only time this hasn't been true is between patch 1.9.2 and 1.9.2a of February 2018.
You have a very miniscule fraction of a second to move provided they get the time frame-perfect, which it's unlike they will. If they do it too late you can easily look at the ground, sky, or whatever else.
And again, I know it's a complex idea but you can just... Not pick someone up. If you fear someone is nearby for the flashlight save, then bait it out, walk around and check the area, do a little 180 turn just before picking up- there's a multitude of things you can do to help prevent yourself getting flashlight saved.
Or even better, look at a wall.
I won't pretend like I'm immune to it, but it happens rarely and never twice in a match to me. It isn't difficult to counter provided you know how

@SilentShepherd said:

That's not how it works at all. I routinely get stunned while in an animation for picking a player up. Or breaking a pallet. There is no chance to look away.
That's exactly how it works lol, how new are you to the game
-
If I cannot control my character while I wait for the animation to end, then I should not be stunnable until I regain control of my character.
Fun fact, this is exactly how it works. You cannot be stunned if you are already in an uninterruptable animation- flashlight + pallet saves work by triggering the moment your animation ends so you can look away just barely, and it requires immense skill.
You can also counter this by just... waiting. Bait flashlights out and then hit them, leaving the other person slugged. Your eyes can be blinded, so you can use them to look around the area and hit them.
-

Now I don't wanna seem insensitive and say good but that's exactly what I'm saying.

No idea what any of Steve's perks got renamed to. They're still Second Wind, Camaraderie, and Babysitter in my head.

"Ghostly Presence"
Even death can't keep your hope contained.
Ghostly Presence is applied to every survivor in the trial permanently.
Once you are sacrificed or killed, Ghostly Presence activates for all other survivors in the trial. While Ghostly Presence is active, grant a 10%/12%/14% bonus to repair, healing, sabotaging, and cleansing speeds.

Are we talking about legally or illegally because illegally they can get a lot of information on you from IP address alone

No, that seems like a regular crash. A DDOS will cause your entire router to slow down drastically and possibly force a restart, preventing every device from connecting to it.
It's very unlike that was a DDOS, if your Internet remains functional.

Found the video - it's Otz's '50 Win Streak on Hillbilly' - game 3 (20:04). Otz tries every angle possible but can't hit them.
That's old Coldwind with the old tractor. You can hit on the new one relatively easily.

Mm. I say 'pseudo infinite' because while it's not a true infinite, it may as well be on killers without anti loop - survivors can just rotate through it for ages. I'd have to get a video of it, because it is also possible that I'm just missing something - I'm very much an intermediate player.
To be fair though, I haven't seen the RPD one in awhile (does RPD have variance in tiles? I honestly don't know). It was a room with multiple vaults into a small office, separated by a barrier and an exit from the room on each side of the barrier. The Haddonfield one (house with two windows close to each other and a bush stopping you from moving between them outside I'm not sure what to do against.
If I'm not mistaken, the 'tractor wheel' thing on Fractured Cowshed is not accessible by the killer or hittable due to the totem. The only way to counter it is to vault down, which is 100% safe for the survivor unless you have Bamboozle or something. You can see it being abused in one of Otz's 'streak' videos, Billy if I remember. It's very frustrating to go against, have no idea how to counter it.
The tractor wheel is entirely possible to counter in two ways.
-If a survivor is too close to one side you can hit them. If they're moving, you can bait them.
-It is very difficult but possible to lunge and hit a survivor in the middle of the side of the tractor.

Doxxing - I have no personal information in the PC.
Swatting - I'm in Europe.
Doxxing- they can trace your address and other information from your IP address alone. It doesn't hack into your computer, but your router.
Swatting- you can still have police called who will arrive potentially with weapons. Definitely the case here in the UK, anyway.
-
Honestly make healing yourself with COH 75% normal speed (so it's still better than self-care), and healing with others 65%/70%/75% to match it. It'll now take 24 seconds to heal yourself without a medkit- again self care does this in 32- and others healing you will take like 12 seconds, so not We'll Make It levels of strong but still pretty strong.

Actually you can get on the cart at the saloon, anywhere a survivor can get the killer can too but as for the slugging bug yes that should definitely get fixed , the cart at saloon you just use the corner of the cart and kinda work your way up there I got three down at once with Leatherface they were all t bagging up there thinking I didn't know about it
You can? I tried it briefly as Trickster but couldn't; maybe I was just doing it in the wrong spot.
-
The slugging bug is an exploit, and if people abuse it you can report them for it.
Bodyblocking a hook is specifically not a bannable offence. Hit them and move on.
Tractor wheels can be walked up by the killer. Rocks can be climbed by the killer.
The only issue is the one on Saloon, as the killer cannot get up and iirc you can't hit someone in the middle of it.I stand corrected, you can also climb the Saloon one.All others can be countered quite easily until they're fixed- with the tractor likely to remain as-is as it's been called a tech by the devs on several occasions.
"Using I-frame glitches" may I interest you in David King's level 35 Teachable Perk "Dead Hard"?
Also, no infinities currently exist in the game ever since the nerfing of Myers' House for any killer except Huntress, Trickster, and Slinger, with whom House of Pain is the only true infinite remaining in the game

Could someone please provide viable free options? I tried one called Proton VPN, it ends up breaking my Internet connection (like a Twitch stream stops, can't load web pages either, etc.) when I'm about to join a lobby in DbD. Saying something about no P2P traffic is permitted on this server.
ExpressVPN, Surfshark, and NordVPN are three different free trials you could try, and Surfshark (at least for me) works for DBD. This covers you for about 30 days, which should be long enough for BHVR to have fixed the issue. CyberGhost is also quite good with a 45 day trial, but the only one I can really comment on in Surfshark because it's the one I use.
TunnelBear and Hotspot Shield are two free ones asides from Proton with pretty good ratings, but again I can't comment on usefulness.
I'm sorry for not being much help; I hope someone else can point you in the direction of one that works.

Well, the reason I brought that up is because, let's be real, only a small portion of players are on the forums or reading a Eurogamer article. Many are blissfully unaware that all it takes is one lunatic to cause very real harm to them.
Oh definitely; I didn't know the article existed until I saw it on another thread. So I'm hoping this thread will at least be enough to warn the forums, and I know Twitter has many different threads on the matter too.
However, an in-game announcement telling people to be careful and if anything happens to save evidence about it? Would've been so much better. It's a lot harder to say you didn't know if it was in the in-game news and on official socials.

turning cross play off will stop you playing with the other console platform too though. So you can't have a console exclusive mm. That said, I don't particularly agree with the idea of being able to target one platform specifically to not play with. That's just asking to breed toxicity and prejudice over literally nothing. Most people who have an issue with "other platforms" often tend to not be the best at the game.
Currently the only argument you can make for turning off crossplay is to avoid hackers. Any other argument is just a generalised statement demeaning other platforms not for player skill, but for platform choice.
Even then that argument is weak because hackers have found ways around crossplay
-
@MarcoPoloYolo said:
This needs a full-blown PSA regarding the issue until the vulnerabilities are fixed. Any statements about BHVR caring about the community are completely hollow with anything less.
In the meantime, don't play the game until they fix this, period. Even if this was the best game ever made, it's not worth it.
I didn't wanna title the thread PSA but I'm hoping this can serve as an ample warning to at least all forums members

@Madjura said:
+1 for including a source. Multiple +1s (which unfortunately are not possible) for the rest of the post.
One thing that should be added though:
So, on a PC there's one main thing you can do.
You can install a VPN on your router. That should protect you if you are playing on console as well. Not every router supports this. If you are using the router that was sent to you your ISP then there is a high chance it won't let you install a VPN. - often the routers that the ISPs provide are crap. You need to check the manual of your router or the router's menu to see if it's possible.
If your router does not support this you can buy one that does and replace the one your ISP sent you. Some ISPs in some countries require you to use their router, in that case you can activate Bridge Mode on your ISP router and connect your new router to your old router and install your VPN on the new router.
The thing is I don't really wanna advise people to go and do things which cost money, hence why I mentioned free VPNs, or free trials. You shouldn't have to pay money to play a game securely you were able to a few weeks ago.

*Coughs, serious voice*: Yes, this is a big problem and needs to be fixed asap. I hope that it is and that anyone who isn't on a VPN takes steps.
"Why not"
There are copious other threads on these forums you could bring that up in.
This isn't about game balance, though. This is about personal data protection and possibly saving people's lives, because swatting has been proven to be, and still will be, fatal to some people. This is so much more of an issue than game balance ever actually will be.
That's why it wasn't the time nor the place for that. Wrong thread, wrong topic.

ExpressVPN says it can create a VPN for all devices connected to your router, but your router needs to be compatible, first

Is Express VPN free, though? Free trials notwithstanding, because you shouldn't have to pay money for security in a game you were secure in a week before.
