There are perks for that.
there aren't actually; wake up doesnt show the aura of the survivor while theyre inside the gate, just shows the aura to all other survivors while theyre actually on the gate. even then, it serves a purpose by having extra opening speed
so again, solos shouldnt have to use perks swf get for free and believing they should perpetuates the balance issues in this game.

"i could point to killers like doctor and wraith and hag, to show they can make good changes to keep the spirit of a power in-tact while helping the killer. i could also point to freddy and billy to show that they cant."
The differences between those Killers and Twins is that BHVR did not repeatedly demonstrate their inability to make good changes. The vast majority of the changes to those Killers were good, healthy ones. Yes, they still have problems, like Hag's ability to camp without camping like Twins can, or Wraith's overreliance on an uninteractive hit-and-run playstyle, but overall these Killers have received changes that make them feel better and/or buff them without making them game-ruiningly obnoxious. It's the exact opposite in the case of Twins.
Let me put it this way: If they announced Doctor changes tomorrow, I'd look at their overall good track record for Doctor and be like "I'm sure that they won't be so bad." If they announced changes for Oni, a Killer who has barely been touched since release, I would be pessimistic since I don't have much faith in BHVR as a whole, but I wouldn't rule out the possibility of good tidings for the samurai guy. If they announced changes for Trickster, whose track record is one of the most spectacularly disastrous in this video game, I'd get nervous. Twins is very much on Trickster's level in that regard, so I have zero confidence in what they'll do with them.
The vast majority of the changes to those Killers were good, healthy ones. It's the exact opposite in the case of Twins.
But this absolutely was not always the case. Wraith himself received so many changes before, and hardly any of them were effective at making him better and not add-on reliant. Then he got that old-Windstorm (lunge after power) made basekit, and then they gave him that current-Windstorm basekit buff which finally pushed him into being good. Before that, he got meaningless buffs and a couple really stupid nerfs. A bit like Twins, really.
So while I don't think they will fix all of Twins' issues I do have some faith in it.
What I do not have faith in, is the length of time it will take to make these changes.

So, you admit you can't come up with a good rebuttal? Because if you can't, I'd rather do something more productive than debate an insult that did a big meanie bo-beanie to your feelings. Let's not waste each other's time here, ay?
bold of you to assume this is at all wasting my time.
why should you trust they get twins right? i have no clue, because i cannot change your bias.
i could point to killers like doctor and wraith and hag, to show they can make good changes to keep the spirit of a power in-tact while helping the killer. i could also point to freddy and billy to show that they cant.
they are very inconsistent when it comes to these things, so it's a question really of how well legion + ghostface come out before anyone can effectively make up their minds

updates to certain things used to contain 6 main changes, hence the name "Cube" for the faces. There was also the Wraith Cube for his first (of many) set of buffs.

Sure, continue deflecting about an offhanded jab. That's totally what the thread is about. One hundred percent. The entire reply section is full of people hotly debating that singular line.
You know what the thread is about. Answer the question or admit that you can't.
What's that thing people say on Twitter? "Cope, seethe, mald"?
I literally don't care about the topic of the thread, I'm simply defending myself. You were the one to make the comment and thus I'm using the thread where the comment was made to defend myself- regardless of what other people are on about.

I didn't expect much to be honest. I just got a really fancy "no" to an honest suggestion that many, many, many people have suggested.
What astounds me is that they even mentioned that removing perk tiers WOULD reduce the grind by 66%, but that it wouldn't be worth investing time into instead of a real permanent solution.
I have to say BHVR, this solution you guys have in mind better be damn good. Better than reducing the grind that everybody hates by 66%. I'm sorry but I find that incredibly hard to believe. While yes, we would technically reach equilibrium again with removed perk tiers, but surely you guys understand that this would take literal YEARS correct?
You're telling me nothing can be done in years for a permanent solution? That the solution you guys have in mind can't incorporate such a "simple" change like removing perk tiers? I'm sorry, but that just doesn't make any sense to me.
In life, the simplest answer is often the best. Whatever complicated solution you guys have cooked up to reduce the grind cannot be better than just removing the grand offender that's causing the grind to be so painful.
I would love to hear what people think could possibly be better than reducing the grind by 66%. Because I honestly cannot think of anything without seriously overhauling the bloodweb which in no way can be a simpler solution than just removing Perk Tiers.

That's the thing; I'm pretty sure that's exactly what they're planning on doing. A complete and total rework of the entire system to ensure that it's functional for now and the grind isn't too much, which can then scale easily as the game scales in size too. What this could be I don't know, and I really don't want to be disappointed with it, so I'm not getting my hopes too high but I'm almost certain that an entire ground-up rework is exactly what they've planned.
-
I'm not entirely convinced that the COH nerf will be enough to kick it out of the meta- I don't honestly know how to nerf the perk effectively without making it self-care level, but if everyone keeps healing that 4 seconds will absolutely stack up, particularly with sloppy.

Never got back around to this. Good job proving nothing, I guess, but try not to derail here. I'd still like you to answer my question: With how Twins has been adjusted and changed in the year they've been out, why should I trust BHVR to make the right call whenever these changes come out? Just because changes are coming doesn't mean GOOD changes are coming. If anything, I'm dreading the changes they have in store because with the track record for Twins updates so far, I have every reason to believe they're going to suck.
thats great i made my comment about the thinly veiled insult you attempted to make in your comment which was therefore entirely on topic and not derailing the thread, since youre the one that made it in the first place in your comment.

For the next names, I do not have access to any Japanese characters, and the Roamised version of the name is not available.
[JAPANESE TEXT] - "Is SBMM really working if grades are so different?"
It's important to note that grade is not an indicator of skill, nor of the player's SBMM. All it means is that they've played a lot this month. In terms of MMR, "The MMR system itself, the ratings, is absolutely working well. We've gathered tons and tons of data, and it's very good at predicting match outcomes. The problem- and I'm admitting there is a problem- lies more with the matchmaking system itself, and a situation where it puts players into a game it already knows it has lost."
Matchmaking is always a battle between speed and fairness. You can make matches completely fair and balanced, but it would take hours to find games. You can find matches within seconds, but at the cost of a lot of fairness. The system at the moment has an issue where it prioritises speed a bit too much, particularly with "backfilling" (where a player leaves the lobby, or can't enter). Speed here is massively prioritised and anyone is thrown in whenever possible. This is particularly an issue with killer players- new killer players being dragged into lobbies with people far above their skill level. This is something very specific they're looking into fixing, right now.
[JAPANESE TEXT] - "Do you plan to give Killers more BP for facing SWF?"
There's nothing currently planned, despite internal conversations. It's more likely it's better to look at it from a view of 'how do we properly compensate and deal with this', through solo buffs then killer buffs, instead of just bloodpoint rewards. The idea is to close the Solo/SWF gap so it's not something you need a reward for.
[JAPANESE TEXT] - "Are there any plans for the "Thumbs Up" feature?"
The whole 'give props', or endoursement system, has been discussed and is on the potential for being changed/made more important, but there's no current plans for this
[JAPANESE NAME] - "Has a perk ever been scrapped for being too weak, powerful, funny, etc."
Truth is, most of the crazy perk ideas die really, really early in the design process. If a perk is too weak, or too strong, the designers will poke holes in the ideas until they work. When a perk reaches the prototyping stage, it's very rare that it gets scrapped then, and instead it's tweaked.
The main perk designers do a really good job- they have good ideas right out of the gate which are fairly well balanced (except let's not talk about COH) so there aren't really any stories of perks being scrapped anymore.
There was once a buff to self-care though, which was jokingly called "Selfish Care", that made it to the PTB. The self-heal speed was upped to 75%, but you could also heal others at 75%. It's literally what Circle of Healing will be, except without the limitations of a Boon.
[JAPANESE NAME] - "Do you plan to add an Exposed add-on to The Nurse?"
There are no plans for this just yet. Maybe in the future, but no not now. Nurse probably doesn't need it, anyway (but if someone writes a very well-composed, 5 page essay on here explaining why she needs some, then Patrick might be convinced).
[JAPANESE NAME] - "Do you plan to increase the 1mil BP cap?"
This has been talked about a lot recently. Talks have focused around what value the cap has at the moment, and while they used to be dead set on keeping the cap firmly in place, they're definitely a lot more open to discussion now. So no plans yet but they're talking.
@EviLivE [RU] - "Are there any plans to buff Killers that struggle against SWF?"
Not really- they generally try to avoid balance changes to individual killers based on their performance against SWF or solos. The reason for this is because a killer perfectly balanced for SWF tends to be completely OP against solos, and vice versa.
@hunnybe4r - "Shirtless Felix when?"
Sigh.
@standemic [RU] - "Will the EGC be reworked somehow?"
The EGC exists to prevent a stalement and force the game to end under normal circumstances. It forces one side to make a play and make a decision, where previously they would hold still and do nothing. It exists only to make the game end, and that's all; and for that purpose, it does great.
If you want survivors to be against the clock, the option always exists to open the gates yourself.
closing messages:
Circle of Healing nerf!
New Grade Rewards!
Bloodrush ends tomorrow!
Lunar New Year event!

And also, for @Huge_Bush, here's the obligatory animal picture. This time, it's donkeys.

So, we can expect Twins to get changed in 2 and a half years? Cool. BHVR still has continued to make it clear that they do not understand what the problem is, so whatever these changes are, I and anyone who plays Twins have zero reason to believe they'll be anywhere close to the changes that need to happen.
I get that your favorite food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is the heel of BHVR's boot, but look at everything they've done to the Killer since they're released. They clearly have no understanding of what makes Twins so problematic, and continue to demonstrate that same lack of understanding. Why should I have any confidence in whatever changes they have planned for this Killer?
I get that your favorite food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner is the heel of BHVR's boot
Appreciate the compliment but that's actually not true- I ######### talk the devs quite often when I'm with friends. When I'm on a platform when the devs can see my comments, however, I tend to turn that into actual feedback so they can- you know- improve their game?
Foreign concept, I know.
I'd appreciate it if you could try your best to not attempt an insult only to fail miserably. It's not a good look for you x

So, to be clear: if killers perform poorly at low levels, but do well at high levels (like twins), they're fair game to get nerfed. (except Nurse for some reason)
If killers perform well at low levels but do poorly at high levels (like Freddy), they're ALSO fair game to get nerfed. (except Bubba for some reason)
So basically there's no internal consistency and things just get nerfed randomly and for no reason. Cool.
... Anyway, assuming the Reddit thread is semi-accurate, this is actually exciting MaybeNews:
- ...potential new gamemode, working on testing split queue times with SBMM and how they impact it and , “there is always a chance * wink *”
The balancing is a joke, the maps get worse every rework, the killer experience grows worse and worse, SWF is the only way to play survivor anymore, and QoL improvements are somehow the most difficult programming tasks ever attempted. But discussing giving DbD a DIFFERENT game mode without immediately shooting it down?
That.
That is news worthy.
I can confirm the Reddit thread was accurate.

Drafts do have an auto save feature on them, that we have switched off on the forum, has been for quite some time....not sure if people are going to want this switched back on or not, will need to have your input on this.
It depends- I like the concept behind the feature, but if there's a popup every 3 seconds then I can see that getting very annoying after a while. I mean, there are many mentions of something underneath the Pizza Plex sucking up all the power. Plus, we knew from Help Wanted that Afton wasn't dead.
Despite that, I still think his introduction could have been done better, and that he should have gotten more screen time (as well Monty, since he's barely in the game compared to the others).
It's really a shame how rushed Security Breach was. Looking at the trailers, it looked like a different game. I really hope they go back and fix the bugs as well as add back a lot of the stuff that was cut.
Looked like a different game because it was a different game- listen to the voice lines from that trailer and see if they show up anywhere in the game
