  • Its terrible... & it's another reason why people are quitting. We NEED dedicated servers.

    I really like this idea.

I just hope they regress SC and not an immediate drop if you stop healing.  I have played with some idiots that will run up, get you to stop healing so they can do it, and then run off.  The regression gives some balance and isn't to big of a nerf to SC in my mind, and the benefit is that if it is still over powered the devs can slowly speed up the regression till it gets to a good middle ground

    This is a great solution!

  • As a killer, Its way too easy now... I feel bad being killer since i know the survivors are getting annihilated in every match. Its not very fun when survivors play stealthy either. I wish there was more balance. :( a lot of my friends are leaving dbd too now.

  • A lot of people are quitting because of this update. I don't blame them, i'm not happy with it either.

    Thx.

2 is not reasonable. Killers need the information in order to select their loadouts.

Then survivors should get the same advantage huh? If we see a doc we can fix our loadout accordingly;)

No, because this is an asymmetrical game.

Yep, so both sides shouldnt be able to see eachother. Killers complain so much about survivors and act like their opinions mean more than survivor based opinions. I play both sides & I would much rather not see the little worms before trial lol.

Asymmetrical. As in, "non-symmetrical". What you want is symmetry in information, and information is power. Survivors should not be as powerful as the Killers. The lobby should stay as it is.

I want this game to be fun for both sides. Thats all.

  • These changes are making me consider quitting. They didn't balance anything at all & I play both sides, killing is too overpowered and surviving is not fun. Both sides aren't as fun anymore.

  • I agree... They should have hired Vinc3ntVega to host! He would have been sooooooo fun ! :D

  • I hate ones that farm you off the hook. Happens all the time. Or if just 1 person is working with the killer.

  • I dont know how the heck you got 2,219 bp. What were you doing?! Lol

Oh console.... well if you want a more "competitive" game then switch to PC
On console you have to deal with way bigger problems like fps etc

Not very helpful at all. My comment didn't even suggest wanting a more "Competitive" game. I don't think anyone likes losing their items because the killer doesn't like the map, or they just get mad or something. We need dedicated servers! Notice I say "we" because I'm not against you or putting you and I on different sides. This community needs to try to get away from biased opinions & try to improve the game for everyone.

And the 3 who were gen rushing will depip as well because they didnt get chased or get to rescue or heal anyone. Camping doesn't do anything for anyone.

Funny, but if a killer camps one of other random mates (I am a solo survivor), then I will almost always pip (unless I did really bad at the beginning) and even in the care cases where I dont manage to pip, you will never depip

If all a team does is gen rushing, open gates and escape, you may barely saftey pip. The whole "Punnish the camper" gameplay is boring and honestly quite annoying that its a legitimate strategy. The hooked person will definitely depip even if the chase was great if they didn't get to do anything before that.

If the killer shuts his game off or their internet goes out survivors lose like 2 pips and items/add ons/Offerings. You're right about the safety pip when gen rushing a camper. :)

Well see, the thing about campers is... the easiest way to deal with a camper is to forget the survivor on the hook exists at all. As that guy on the hook (speaking from experience) it sucks, tremendously, but literally if that one guy doesn't struggle and just makes the camper wait him out the entire time it takes to sacrifice and all 3 of the others work on gens... by the time he gets the first person killed you will be more then halfway done and out. Genrushing punishes campers, if by the end he has 1-2 kills and you guys escape, he likely won't pip from that, and if you can manage to get him to only get 1 kill he will probably depip, which will serve him about right. So I dont think there should be any regression speed, because camping is a flawed strategy to start

camping only works against "stupid" survivors that feed the killer yeah
If survivors are clever and just do gens, then the killer will go out of the match with 1 kill and will depip GUARANTEED

And the 3 who were gen rushing will depip as well because they didnt get chased or get to rescue or heal anyone. Camping doesn't do anything for anyone.

I play on ps4 and when the killer turns off the internet on thier end we loose all progress on our side. It is very hard to get to low rank because of this. The killer get no regression for this. Amother question is on campers we as survivers get birds so campers should jave regressed speed where we can get the players off the hook.

You dont loose progress on your side, you will gain all the BP you eanred during the match +5000 for the escape. A DCing killer will always give you a black pip, none of your progress is taken away

The killer doesnt get any regression by DCing via internet loss, but suvivors dont do either.

What do you mean with regressed speed?

On ps4, if the killer shuts his internet off or closes application, we lose everything offerings, items, and pips. It acts as if you dc if the killer dc's.

ok, thank you for that, but this was for the Devs. and yes it is annoying but mostly time consuming sitting waiting to get in a game and that happens, the player base is now divided with the regular game and the PTB it takes a long time to get in a game in both every day 5 or more times it happen, and you lose your offerings can we get this fixed or not, hello

If you get disconnected it is because of the host (the killer) connection that could be bad or he just disconnected or your connection to the host that is bad. The devs can't really help you on thoses ones

    Dedicated servers would fix this.

Playing as Doctor, chasing survivors like normal EXCEPT you never pull out your treatment mode, I think most killers would be able to get at least 1 if not maybe 2 survivors before all the generators are done

You have NOED, now the generators are done, turn to treatment mode, there are 1-3 survivors left (Give or take) they all scream, now you know where they are, if they are huddled around doors this makes work easy

How well do you think this would work out? Would the survivors catch on do you think?

    Just run bitter murmur! :]

  • @Triggered55 I do really wish we could get it on console as well since not everyone has a computer that can run the PTB. There are bugs that happen on console with every update that don't happen on pc, but thats where the PTB happened, so not only do we have to wait "till the following weeks" after pc gets theirs, but we get to deal with all the console bugs that will be there.

Since they just released the new hatch idea on the PTB, what do y'all think about the new idea. Just to keep discussion going.

I think its a bit better, the killer can patroll both doors but the last survivor can keep getting little bits of progress on them repeatedly. It's an interesting idea, im excited to try it!

  • I honestly love everything you have posted @Brookstopher! I love the concept art you have come up with and it looks super creepy! The only thing i dont agree with are the perks. Entities reach is okay, but the rest seem a bit overpowered.

I was wondering if the hatch can spawn on say a 2nd floor/2nd Story Shack kind of area, the best way I can describe is the Gideon Meat Packing Plant, almost always spawns on the ground floor but not basement deep, just about every hatch I've seen on streams/youtube videos/ and personally always spawn on the "Middle" Level, even though its supposed to be random. has anyone ever seen a hatch on like the swamp 2nd story floor shacks or that one house in the cornfield map that looks like 5 stories high that always has a generator?

It wouldn't make sense to jump through the hatch upstairs though. I wouldn't like it because my logic would have me saying "Well I escaped.... Even though I should have just fell downstairs xD" I like to think of the hatch as a hole dug with a tunnel leading to safety outside the gates ;) .

Then don't be a jerk and rage quit because you're about to get downed/hooked/sacrificed. Also don't be a jerk post game and threaten to falsely report them like this. I was in the match in the pic just now and the killer didn't do anything wrong. They also didn't say anything racist in chat.

It's jerks like this that give all survivors bad names just like some killers do as well, like the one that went all homophobic on me because i called him out on his tea bagging and camping. They were also a prestige 3 killer with all the best stuff.

The red markings indicate the toxic survivor.

This can be devastating of survivors are not communicating and finish all the gens on the "outskirts" of the map. As if to say they are all that spread out to begin with. (OPINION POWERS ACTIVATE)

Killers BP perk is much easier to stack than the survivors. Even if it wasn’t, if you completely lose as killer, you can still get 20k if you use your time well/not camp. Survivors can only get 20k on GOOD GAMES, and even then barely do.

Yes! I was going to say the same thing. BP values definitely need to increase as well as raising the cap. On killer I earn on average with bbq & Distressing 40+k per game if i hook everyone as much as i can. Im usually getting 15k as survivor on average with escape and 20k if it was a good game! "A [BAD WORD] who cannot read. Maked me feel good"

I feel so proud! Ive gotten salty survivors before but rarely salty comments!

Proud? Really? Not because of the 4k, but because you made someone angry? I don't get it....why? Is this the new 21st century equivalent of "chest beating"? It's not enough to perform well and outsmart a gaming opponent, it's only validated when there is proof of emotion involved? Seems a little codependent doesn't it?

It's like....you got the 4k win....nice. It's was only after the other player was frustrated that the game went from "nice" to "awesome"?

I'm not joking, this is not judgement or criticism, I honestly want to understand how pissing someone else off made your win so much better. I mean to the point that you actually made a thread about it.

You made the declarative statement without supporting statements. "I feel so proud". Why?

Yeah... I'd like to know why as well. It really makes me sad when I see people act like this in our community. We make the community what it is, and I hope it starts to get better.

  • @DocOctober I agree that there should be a report function in the killer lobby, but since the killer can see all of the survivors names and characters they chose, its a little bit one sided. On console, there isnt even a chat we can type in so I feel like reporting may be abused. I kind of feel like they should just take the chat away on pc pre-game.

So i've dealt with alot of camping in this game, and I think that's the main problem, noone wants to help out when players are getting camped by a killer.

So I think a new in-game mechanic should be added called "Dead Eye" thats when Killers are camping and staring at the player being camped, which will give the player (who's on a hook and being camped) giving them like 600 points for it, but should also give minus points to the killer that's camping more than 30-60 feet away.

PLEASE add this to the game, its the only way to deal with campers otherwise this game might aswell die out in the next year, which its probably going to do since alot of people don't want to deal with ######### gameplay.

P.S I know there's going to be alot of over-emotional people over this small suggestion which would benefit for the survivors, if you feel like you are getting triggered, call this hotline 1-800-273-8255 and they will help you calm down.

This is a cool suggestion. I think 'dead eye' should just be a proximity thing though not just for face camping. Most campers will stand next to or behind the hooked victim to ensure they see whoever tries to come up and unhook.

  • @Peasant said:
Killers and Survivors alike accept and understand that gameplay around looping pallets is primarily encouraged by stunning the killer with pallets as a successfull pallet stun rewards the player with 1000 Bloodpoints. However I must ask, why is that pallet stun so point rewarding? Stunning a killer for a handful of seconds rewards the Survivor with 2x the value of a Hook Sabotage, 4x the value of a Flashlight Blind, 20% of an escape 80% of a generator, and roughly 60% of a hook rescue. Compared to most survivor actions this seems just a bit odd as a pallet stun is far from a difficult thing to do. I'm just curious as to why such a skillless task is so rewarding. If it was up to me I'd lower the reward by 50% from 1000 bloodpoints to 500 bloodpoints. It just seems to me that 1000 points for a such a small stun doesn't make sense. I'm each to hear everyone's thoughts on this matter.

It's not guaranteed to get that stun, so getting 1k points is not a problem. Getting a pallet stun is the most life threatening thing on the list of actions you made in your post since the survivor is in full attention of the killer and they are 'dancing' with them trying not to get hit. Those other actions are not so life threatening so therefore, they grant less points.

  • @Vulipus13 said:
So how many of you can't help but hang around a door and t-bag as a survivor and wait for the killer, yet when you play as killer it is just a chore of the game to have to chase the survivors out because they destroyed you in a game 😂 This happens to me at least once a week and it's just like a circle of karma I swear. So who all else has this in their plain of the entity's reality?

Well, I only do that if the killer camped or tunnelled. Most of the time I run circles with Neas head looking up like a derp until the killer comes along & some killers do it with me xD lol

Yeah i agree, this is why they made his timing the way it is and i dont see anything wrong with his speed. As Huntress you have to run over to a locker, face plant into it spending the time grabbing the hatchets out of the locker. But as the Clown, you can do it where ever you want and still look around to watch where survivors are going while you mix the concoctions! Well, likewise, what is stopping a survivor from doing the exact same thing against new killers. Or going on a SWF and have others feed them items, or stealing someone else's item after they died.

Its not stealing, they died and they can't possibly regain that exaxct item from that trial.
Edit: Unless someone gives the item back to them in the next trial or something.

Exposed status for 60 seconds.wow.nice.But useless 150%. Because you dont see who was the "unhooker" unless you camp and then perks dont trigger.
Give the killer his aura for 60 seconds that he can make his choice to hunt the hooked or the "rescue guy".

I like make your choice the way it is, but i will say 60 secs is way too long for the unhookers aura to be visible. Maybe 4 secs like BBQ so you can see which direction they go in could be a nice improvement.

As it stands Survivors can pull out any item from a chest and with proper perk with almost any add on. I think it would improve the over all killer moon if the entity gave us Killers something a little extra per kill. 1 kill drops a uncommon add on for the killer power, 2nd kill drops a rare, 3rd very rare, 4th ultra rare. What do you guys think?

As it stands, survivors search a chest, its almost always something brown or yellow. If we have plunderers instinct we get slightly better chances of getting something purple and green. If we add up the ante It (supposedly) increases our luck further to get better items (i dont see a difference). And last, ace in the hole perk... I havent used this one as much because our addons as survivor are'nt that helpful anyway. Ace in the hole does'nt give crucial addons like BnP or insta-heals. So, to run a chest luck build, you'd need to take those 3 perks. And you're off opening a minimum of 3 chests if you don't use a shiny coin, basically useless to your team in the beginning.

My point: There is a lot that goes into going for loot in a trial. Would you want to take in 3 perks for a CHANCE to get something nice? No, you're insisting you get guaranteed GREAT quality op add ons upon kills. Thats nothing like what the survivors go through.

remeber survivor can always use offerings to get EVEN better things

Either a luck offering (which in my experience i dont see the difference with luck on chests) or an offering for more chests. Honestly, try it as a survivor. Its not all that rewarding. Its a waste of 3 perk slots & If you make more chests then thats EVEN more time you're useless to your team. Then if you get something good you have to make it out with it. Oh and then theres franklins.... If survivors made killers drop their addons that wouldn't be fair. Lol.

At one point perhaps someone would ask themself...why are the devs only making incentives to choose to not camp instead of punishing camping like you all want and whine and beg for?

It could be because the devs did design camping into the game from day 1, it could be because indeed, the devs tried once during the 1.4 era where the game almost died due to infinites being unstoppable and the ptb for the camping punishment that made the survivor die slower on the hook the closer the killer was too the hook, well as is common knowledge by anyone who played that PTB or during that era of darkness for the game, It was quickly found and brought too the devs in mass that survivors were forcing the killer to stay at the hook while the others did the gens, thus enforcing camping and a survivor on hook to not have anyway of playing, After this PTB was ended, the devs made a statement that camping will not ever be punished as survivors will abuse any form of punishment put in but only give killers the choice by making incentives for them to choose to camp or not.

You can doubt anyone and everyone who knows this information but at some point you must be finding yourself wondering...why is camping not getting punished like we keep begging for?

How did they force the killer to do anything?

as someone who played during that, I wasn’t forced at all. People completely forget that if you walk away, instant unhook, and you can now hook him again, saving the time from an entire hook phase. People just don’t think outside the box....like...ever.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking. I think the devs should revisit this now since there has been a lot of changes since it was tested back then.
