If I see scratch marks near the hook, am I supposed to just go away and pretend I didn't notice them? Sometimes it's the survivors fault why a killer won't leave the hook.
You are assuming OP implied that every hunters they are talking about has that reason you mentioned for camping. It's definitely not always scratch marks (or a similar reason) that leads a killer to sit in place. You right tho sometimes it's not the killers fault.
-
I do wish you got something, but at the same time you are able to play any killer or survivor you own with every perk, add-ons, items, and offerings in the game.
-
Oh yeah, just did an hour ago. Was chasing a survivor as huntress, then noticed an injured teammate behind me far back. Kept chasing for a few seconds then did a sick 180 flick and downed the injured fella.

I will usually let the last person go if everyone who played that game was playing fair and didn't do anything to hinder their team or attempt to annoy me as a killer.
While it would be nice to be happy and nice to your fellow players, sometimes it's just not in the cards. Some people just want to be toxic, and you have to teach them what it feels like to lose badly.
By toxic I mean doing stuff that actively annoy the Killer, actively sandbagging their teammates.
Flashlight clicking isn't toxic, teabagging to get the killer's attention isn't toxic.
Teabagging after a pallet drop and teabagging at the exit gate is, however, in my books.
As long as the intent is to PLAY THE GAME, then it's not toxic.
Definitely! I don't mean to say to go out of your way and throw a game to be 'nice'. Even stuff like bringing in Survivor Pudding. The bonus BPs to you can totally outweigh being a pal and letting someone go.

Here's the best part, according to bhvr the rank 9 is within your matchmaking range! Anyone within 6 ranks of your rank is eligible to be placed in a match with you. So what probably happened is that the rank 9 was SWF-ing with the rest and the game used their matchmaking, because instead of finding the average of the whole group it just uses the lowest ranking player! ######### this stupid game!
I think they temporarily increased the ranges due to poor q times. Whenever I solo as survivor I get killers that are out of the range. I do also remember the q times being worse before this (I recently took a break from survivor so I was white ranks).

Trapper Main 69 here,
I approve of all changes.
-
I don't get it much either. There's some people who've earned it at times... But meh it's not fun for anyone involved.
As for your 'keep tunnelers and such towards lower ranks' idea, I don't think it's a healthy approach to it. No/Less BPs? That'd be fine enough, but removing emblems and such will keep those players where it hurts the game the most. I'd rather face a tunnel camper while I'm in purple ranks' than have a bunch of new players that won't know what to go face it. While I agree there should be a better reason to not tunnelcamp and such, it's good to keep those people closer to the ranks that can better deal with it.
Post is totally spot on other than that tho.

I'd focus on where you are playing poorly, but you already know that.
Killer main here, but I'll try to help you out perk-wise. I bring Kindred, Iron Will, and Spine Chill a lot.
Kindred helps the whole team and yourself, really a great perk when you play solo.
Iron Will makes it easier to play while injured; is a soft counter to several killer abilities and can get you a win in a chase is played right. Also you can hide to avoid chases, since you aren't too great in them.
Spine Chill is real nice for a few reasons. You get a slight repair boost and blah blah blah, BUT where it can shine in the slight increase of vault speeds while in a chase. Very nice. Knowing if the killer is coming for you is cool as well.

Get their Steam IDs/GT/PSN and make an official report. Everyone has doubts the in-game reporting does anything (basically doesn't unless it is nearly 100% of people they get in games with and they're cheating or exploiting).
It's unfortunate, but your going to run into these people. It happens in every competitive, popular, and/or fun game.
Some people have made the point that they could just make a text content filter- I'll just say it never works and will never work. People can find creative ways of typing any slur.
It's a internet issue. Happens everywhere. Will happen forever. Do what you can, that is effective, to get them banned. All you can do.

U shouldn’t be mad that their are perks and items that speed up the game also it’s a 4 v 1 killers get 50% survivors get 50% so just get good u faceCamper ur more toxic and annoying if u face camp so yeah
That's not nice :(

All I can say is if random people trying to bother you bothers you, then you shouldn't look at or have chat enabled.

I'd like to see proxy chat as at least a KYF option, but I doubt we'll see game chat soon. It's surprisingly not super fast and easy to implement.

Woah, its almost like the improved regression allows you to camp the totem and the 3 gens closest to it, which makes it so you caaaaan't really cleanse it, isn't it?
Also, Bean, from what I've seen you type you're not really the brightest of the bunch, so I'ma be extra clear here. I know they didn't go ahead with it, the issue I have is that they even thought it was an option in the first place. The fact the devs thought it would be ok to blindfold us instead of fixing an issue clearly shows how they don't really care about fixing the bugs in the game. Was I more clear? With people like you, I never know.
You never hear of coordination? The second a survivor gets picked up that isn't on top on the Ruin, someone can for sure cleanse it. That's how it's always been. That's why killers that camp Hex totems tend to lose. You cant pressure 4 areas in a 15 second loop, even if they are close. Either they camp their heart out and last gen is done or they'll let the ruin go. And before you say 'they can just slug' that isn't always a strategy that works. Idk why people think slugging = winning. You, again, will need to pressure downed people ON TOP of the remaining generators.
Don't act so damn smart when you are a toxic idiot yourself.

Killers have already been using ruin BECAUSE of how BADLY this game is balanced around gen speeds and "map pressure". killers NEEDED the time that ruin bought. and with this current version of ruin? it is garbage. now more than likely by the time you hook 1 person, GARUNTEE, whether they are able to hit greats or not. 1 gen will pop when you hook a survivor with a 2nd gen close to popping if not already popped. AND YOU ONLY HAVE GOTTEN 1 HOOK. Q times for survivors in red ranks was already bad. but now? I firmly believe that the amount of red rank killers that will actually keep playing after this change will only be in the double didgets.
if someone asked me "what is THE WORST thing BHVR could do to this game balance wise?" my answer would be to nerf ruin. and BOY did they not just NERF IT, THEY LEGIONED IT

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/116118/trapper-is-a-strong-killer-change-my-mind
Trapper can be good against low to average players but anyone with a glint of skill can pop 3 gens by the time you have set up a "trap zone". After you have trapped a spot its not difficult to avoid tall grass or be mindful of popular trap spots. I know I tend to either focus gens (if my team isn't) or I will hunt all the trap spot near loops as my team does gens.
Then you have SWF teams who can easily coordinate trap removal/inform the team of trap locations.
Trapper has potential even against really skilled players if you are able to be very unpredictable in your placement but more likely than not someone will see you set the trap up.
??
Oof
There is a very common misconception that you MUST set down traps for 2 minutes before starting a chase. Setting down 2-3 traps is enough before you start to pressure gens. And those gens must be one's near where your trapping. You can slowly get more traps on one side of the map. As long as you prioritize the generators near your traps, you'll have a 3 gen if it gets that far if nothing else.

Actually a lot of people forget about this but you get an extra 600 exp for playing your first killer and survivor match of the day. Let's say that we have 10 days remaining you get 6000 exp from these bonuses. That leaves you with 42000 exp remaining.
That leaves you with 70 optimal games, 700 mins or 11 hrs 40 mins of game time.
You have lessened the pain. Thank you.

L O L (does that seem disingenuous? Sorry :c)
About the edited bit at the end about top game = company rich.
They are paying (or for) a separate studio to develop a mobile version of their game, they've recently invested in dedicated servers, and income from licensed killers has a big ass hole in it or costs them a lot up front.
Fortnite was developed by a larger team with more experience and backing from Epic with a design targeted to children and microtransactions that the children tend to not be wise about buying too much, DbD's code is sorta spaghetti rn, not gonna lie, and is a mature game. The older audience tends to make better decisions with their money (this means fortnite's making more in that sense).
Saying every killer since Huntress has been a paid killer isn't true. Every killer since Huntress you have the option to pay for. You can buy non licensed killers and survivors with in-game currency. I personally make enough shards to buy a perk or two off the shrine and saved up enough before every OC release. It's definitely possible.
While your right about the speed of bug fixes and such, comparing the two games isn't great as they are so different in complexity in every way. Game breaking bugs are fixed more often than every two months in DbD btw. Fortnite disables weapons because they can. Are you going to expect them to, for example, disable basement hooks?
-
All survivors have different body types and breathing and pain sounds. They are different in this way. Bill is large and loud asf while Claudette is more medium in sound but small and has good camouflage clothes and her skin is darker( which makes hiding/losing chase all that much easier). While they all can share perks with no special power, these things matter.
PS. Meg is loud asf. Never try to stealth with her. Unless you have iron will lol
-
Because it sucks to play a whole game and then be insta downed out of nowhere. No one wants to save you, NOED is up. The difference between this and Adrenaline is that the experience of getting downed is much different for the killer than survivor. Especially when you know you have (almost) no chance of getting out. When getting hit with adrenaline the killer can still manage a few sacrafices. When getting hit with NOED, the survivors entire game has been for not.
I know the whole escaping/sacraficing vs pipping debate. It's up to the player to decide for themselves what matters to them.
It's also a different of win condition if your on the side of sacraficing matters to you. Survivors have two; Survived or Sacraficed/Dead. Killer have five; 0-5 kills.
Many players care about how they did (escaped) individualy rather than how the team did, this is always the issue with asymmetric games.
