I mean bleeding out when the killer isn't playing normally is always annoying but I'm not sure I'd go that far lol
-
I tend to make a quick game out of it when there's a DC. A 1v3 is not fun and I don't usually feel like farming.

My guess is they have optimized the game to run a bit smoother on consoles. Which means that console players killed of boobies. Burn them!
Aight this is very upsetting. Remove cross play once and for all.

Hey, for what it's worth, I didn't know lunges existed for like a couple hundred hours.
It was part of the training, if you can win without lunges, you can win with them even harder.

I'd assume (or at least hope) that BHVR have some wiggle room to change stuff around without permission from other companies in those maps. Who knows though, you never do when hidden contracts are involved.
-
I'm way too nice, so unless a map offering is used, a few keys are brought, etc I try to hook every survivor once before killing anyone. Not a winning strategy at high ranks, but I usually can afford it (since I float around 12-6). Most games 2-3 survivors receive every hook. Butthat's because I'm nice and want both sides to have fun, not because I'm trying my best to get a 4K at all costs.
-
Yes! It was a 4K as trapper against innocent rank 20 survivors that weren't armed with youtube videos previously like I was.

So... you posted this at 12:46 PM, some 3 hours or so after they launched the PTB and revealed the killer?

It's not Wendigo, by the way. It's Wendi-baby.
I didn't check not knew the exact time

Congrats on your greater dedication!

No, no one is sure it's a wendigo. It's an educated guess. If it is original, the who knows? Dbd fans have a horrible track record at speculating OG killers.
Rake seems a little iffy because BHVR doesn't seem super into messing with creepypasta. It's not really "original", and the rights are not always completely open (?)... Question mark there because I'm not 100% familiar with it, just have heard a few things secondhand and haven't confirmed personally.
I think the rake is more possible than a lot of other creepy pasta 🍝 since it's been monetized successfully before and something hard to claim copyright over.
Who knows tho, your probably right on that.

You ever watch a live stream or YT video where the lighting, textures, and particle effects look weird? That's what I'm getting at, where people go into the game files and manually tweak every setting there is. It makes the game quite ugly and I cringe every time I see it.
There are things you can do to mitigate disadvantages, then there's being cheap. This is clearly an unintended use of the graphics, right? There are things that are hard to see for a reason.
Trash PC? Colorblind? Poor eyesight? Not so big a deal for those people who could really use a little help, but for most it's an unfair advantage.
Maybe someone can help me see this in a different Light?
I made a similar post a while back. The general consensus from what I've seen is:
"Lol it's a casual game why do you care?"
So, I guess not?

If it helps once in a trial it is usually worth it. Time is key and this gives your team extra, even if it's not much sometimes.
DH to pallet tho makes trapp daddy main me cry.

Spine chill is the best perk to deal with stealth killers.
Can't agree more! It's great to use as a training tool against stealth killers if nothing else if you aren't confident. Not to mention it can save you in the the split-second situations where that extra speed makes a difference.
-
Just a question, what times do you usually play, OP? Or what region?
When activity is lower, you tend to get matched with much higher(or lower) ranked players since the matchmaking prioritizes getting a game over not playing. If this wasn't the case then people would go back to complaining the queue times are too long.
You can't really win when pop is low; The happy medium is impossible to reach.
-
Good Lord, I'm still devotion 2 and some change.
Congrats on it tho!

I play a lot of Hunt: Showdown.
That combined with dbd have made me paranoid of birds flying in the distance lmao.

I mean I feel like Head On! has a higher trigger rate lmao. It's a curse we must now bare, they're gonna give survivors stun guns next
-
Trapp Daddy main here, and I gonna say about DH countering bear traps:
If you put yourself in a position where a survivor can dead hard through a bear trap and you cannot easily force them back towards it then you made a mistake (example is killer shack if you trapped every entrance). Now I'm not trying to say I'm a top top .01% tier trapper player, but you pick things up like this and if your in that prior mentioned position you aren't using your power to its full capacity. And besides, if bear traps were a hard counter to DH that'd be annoying for the other side. All DH is supposed to be is a slight burst of time. If used on a pallet then it's obviously more than slight... But generally if you, as the killer, aren't prepared for it then you made a mistake.

Hag is definetely not easy because her playstyle is completely different from all the other killers.
You also need a lot of map knowledge and knowledge about the pathing of survivors.
Hag is definitely hard to pickup if you don't play trapp daddy.
Hey, that reminds me:
I know Trapper isn't on your list, but he can definitely preform at high ranks if you practice enough! I take any excuse to tell people to play him.
But to stay on topic, here's some info that works for hag (and trapper?) that will help you in the beginning of learning:
Never try to evenly place traps across the map, most will get wasted or be useless to you. Don't go for a 3-gen (because that's an easy wrench to throw in your plans), but instead cover a portion of the map that is easiest to control. Playing these killers will result in quick gens lost, their power is meant for snowballing and catching people off-guard. As hag, always place a trap near a hooked survivor and stay within teleport range. DO NOT CAMP, otherwise your throwing away pressure on everything else in the trial, not to mention wasting your trap. Instead, pressure the closest survivor to the hook/important gen/your web of traps.
This is not the end-all for learning hag, you'll get to a point where you know when not to place traps on hook, how to make a 'web', etc. I would recommend checking out Otzdarva's videos for a different, more in depth, explanation that is done well. This goes with every killer also!

I don't personally get offended by it, but I know why some do.
Some people take it as a message saying "your time is not worth anything"
I admit, I feel something similar when someone would rather use a medkit, self-care, or inner strength than let me heal them.
As a person who runs Second Wind a lot self care-ing in my face makes me cry.
-
It is annoying when I miss out on perks that help the game:
BT doesn't activate and the killer gets a double clap
WGLF doesn't activate and it takes twice as long to heal
There's other perks that are used less, these two give the idea
Maybe I'm doing a rift to get saves, now that's another I need to do
(Minor point) I'm missing out on my bps om nom nom
(Minor point) If it's done stupidly, you can easily skip a hook stage. It's happened.

@MeltingPenguins said:
For everyone not having any reading comprehension apparently:
We are talking about situations where it is NOT possible to scram and scatter.
So you are saying that the sole counterplay against bubba... is not to play.
Because the issue is common situations: unhooking, healing.
By your justification for this nonsense, again, the only counterplay bubba has is not to play.
So, running away from the killer is still playing, this ain't a situation like 'countering DS is slugging' or something. If bubba is camping a hook, your still playing the game when you get gens done instead. We all feel bad for the hooked guy but that's a Dev confirmed part of life. Bring BT if this is a huge issue for you, will alleviate some situations.
You don't see camping killers at high ranks because it's a boring and ineffective strategy if survivors don't feed you trades and downs. High rank bubba is the only fun bubba, because in that case the killer is also playing the game.
-
If you put BPs into the bloodweb, you'll get add-ons you want eventually. That's how it is designed. There are enough add-ons that it's impossible to make all good ones without redundancies if balance is kept in mind since killer powers can only be modified in so many ways.
The game is meant to be a grind in one way or another to max characters out and get everything you want on a regular basis.
It's not meant to be insulting, it's just game design you don't prefer.
-
BHVR: Exclusives are dumb, let's give special event skins to everyone.
Also BHVR: Let's make an exclusive charm for (mostly) people who watch streams.
-
I think the maps being a slight gamble is a good thing, RNG works well in this game when it isn't ridiculous. Most maps are in a good spot where you would not dread going there once in a while. A few, for sure, are a chore though. Even in those cases the maps don't need terribly much work imo
-
I've just learned that I'm gonna get slapped from time to time. Other people are allowed to have great plays and be clever without me getting mad or considering them toxic.
And at the end of the day, if you kill one person who annoyed you for an entire trial it's more of a win than the 4K.
OP knows what's up
-
TDLR of entire comments and OPs post:
If Blight knows what they are doing = A tier
If Blight dum dum stoopid = Poo tier
-
I've never had it stick me in the rear end,so maybe I'm biased.
All I've seen it good for is to force an early palet drop sometimes, never really seen it literally shut down a chase. As for running to a different tile, yes. You still can in a lot of cases. The removal of some safe tiles so they can't be chained isn't as previlant in new maps as your making it sound.

@DawnMad said:
He is not talking about banning people for face camping. He means instead of banning people for any offense, instead get a killer to facecamp them in their main menu and block from accessing the game. It's a joke.
To the OP, you should have been more clear on your post, took me like 4 reads to get it.
No I think it's fine, they just need to read the short TLDR.
-
I've been using ALL of Steve's perks recently for some reason.
It's not a good idea but I stick with it cause when it's worth it and works great I pretend I'm a perk master.
-
I have lots tbag hatch when I give it to them.
It's a thank you. Not many ways to send and receive information in the game, so I assume the best if it's unclear.
-
At the moment a perfect survivor team beats a perfect killer, not by much tho.
^Generally Speaking^
Making chases easier for the killer in one way or another will tilt this towards killer super hard and I don't think your average rank 1 game will be as competitive or fun.
-
I also do it unless, you know, I really didn't think it was a good game for anyone.
Face camping bubba game? 4 man escape w/key? Etc?
I won't say gg, but also won't be a little unhappy camper about it.
As for winning? Same goes, if you did any of these things, it probably wasn't a good game for everyone. If I'm a slime bag I don't expect other people to have had fun, or would I rub it in with a sarcastic gg.

This was from a previous one and I died irl when I saw it

Not to ignore the main point BUT:
This post in a way is saying 'Dont touch up iri heads, change how the killer is played and difficulty to play against (make dodging hatchets easy).
This is a secret nerf huntress post isn't it.

I'd be more likely to play that much if the end tier cosmetics weren't 50% poopy

Feels bad :(
I rarely have issues revealing, I usually do it by mistake more often

Just why?!!! I just played a game where a Felik who had just got hooked for several of his mistakes aside from running slots of of various mistake counter perks. This individual was attempted to be rescued by a Tapp whom i grabbed and had 2 potential sacrifices. Mind you i decided to let his 2 other teammates recuse Felik one who was wounded and another potential grab at endgame collapse. I hook Tapp, and as i look around expecting the 1 healthy survivor to rescue, guess who got tapp? Felik! I chased him and he had dead hard, but he never ever used it so something was odd. He opened the gate, down into carry... Now why fid he feel invincible? Decisive strike! After 15 seconds of being unhooked and than a 20 second chase , where he was able to get a free unhook on tap and did not have to use dead hard. DS should be a anti tunnel perk, not a free escape, free save, free one man army game plan ability. His other 2 teammates merely waited at the other exit gate and did not get involved whatsoever. Felik was in a literal god state taking advantage of dead hard which he knew he could use if i slugged and incase that failed he buys another 5 seconds of escape time. Devs you people have to nerd DS to a bare minimum of 35 seconds. Pop was a meta perk, but it is only rewarded for successive downs. Why are you punishing skill and letting game breaking perks exist?
Honestly, I think (old) Pop is more powerful than DS is right now. It's nearly unavoidable and always offers a huge strategic advantage. I've won many games because I simply just kicked a few gens with this perk.
DS is annoying and abusable, but it's rarely the whole reason you lose and has some soft counters. DS wastes your time, but only once (per surv) while pop is used 3-6 times in a normal game where your getting hooks.
(Win/Lose is being used as a general term for More/Less kills.)

Nice! It´s so rare meeting an experienced trapper main. I wonder, do you agree with my assessment? Do you have something do add, maybe?
Nothing you said is inherently wrong. All of these things do make playing Trapper hard. I do have a thing to say about add-on dependency:
He is! Games are about twice as hard w/o bag add-ons. But, I really don't see the huge issue with this, add-ons are meant to be used. Along with this somewhat related is the recommendation of two traps as base kit on trapper. Yes, this will make him easier to play and use his power! But, I don't see the *need* for it. Get what I'm saying?
All this is coming from someone who's worked past the starting phase of learning Trapper.
As it stands right now, there are two groups of people. Those who don't play Trapper besides for dailies/new players and those who main him hardcore. There are just a lot of things you need to keep in mind while being a good Trapper. The ability to memorize and improvise good trap placements is key. During that you need to still keep pressure up and constantly think 'is going over here to pick up a trap a poor use of time?'. That just takes a long time and experience to do. The skill ceiling is harder to get to and not as high as other killers, so most people will pick up another one instead.
TLDR;
Nothing you said is wrong! Get good with playtime and it will be easier. Try new things. Trapper is as viable as the time you put into learning him. It might be more effort than it's worth lol.
-
As trapp Daddy main, I find him very viable and enjoy the challenges playing him causes. I really don't understand when people say he's terrible. There aren't many great trapper players, and that's alright. There are also a lot more bad trapper players cause he's very popular with new players.
-
This perk does literally win games if you get more than a few uses out of it. It's understandable, Pop is extremely powerful (not to mention annoying to play against, which should be taken into consideration).
-
OP: *Makes DS rework post*
Everyone: "But how would you change killer perks or it's not fair"
???????¿???¿
-
I've found the lack of information outside of the tutorial more of a good thing going in. I had plenty of time to learn the basics properly before getting in high rank games. One of the best parts of the game for me was learning all this *mostly* on my own; it is satisfying winning mindgames and such. Of course with interest in a game usually comes watches YT vids or streams.
Good luck if you continue to play the game!

Its part of the game. Players looking down on it are cry babies hoping they can shame a person from using full potential.
I know this is an extreme, but hear me out:
If there was a perk combo that let you shoot the killer dead, would people be crybabies if they complained?
It's not crybaby to not like meta.

Literally clown hurts my soul because of reasons.
I hate spirit because if I don't have iron will there's not a whole lot I can do to not die outside of dropping every pallet and becoming a mindgame God.
