I use it occasionally. It's definitley one of the best Survivor perks in the game, arguably even a bit too strong.
-
I agree, it's just unnecessary busywork.

Ok thanks for explaining and doing so in a CIVIL manner lmfao can all killers move without facing a direction bc I don’t play as a killer whatsoever
"can all killers move without facing a direction:
Yes, all Killers are able to walk backwards, and also strafe left & right. They arent airplanes or something.
"I don’t play as a killer whatsoever"
That much was obvious just from the thread title and your opening post.
-
A convict Killer would be cool, surpised there isnt one already with some kind of prison map. Well, I guess Deathslinger is technically a convict, lore-wise, but it's not the focus of his character. I want a dude in a prison jumpsuit.
I really dont want any non-human Killers though. No robots or insects(a guy who USES insects is fine though, as long as he isnt one himself)or whatever, please. I think having all the Killers (lisenced Killers aside) once being normal humans, but now corrupted and twisted by the Entity is cool.

It still feels like they just released the Twins, honestly.
They've been going on a schedule of "new chapter every 3 months" for a while now, and Twins was back in December.
Unless they break their schedule, new Killer is gonna be next month, so we are probably going to get the Teaser either later this month or early next month.

Scream can block spine chill, literally saw him
behind me and spine chill was not activated. Unless my game is glitching which it’s not bc friends can attest to this, what hacks are you suing for this not to be blocked?!
Are you sure you read the perk correctly?
-Works within a 36M range, the Killer has to be looking directly at you.
Undetectable only blocks Aura Reading, it doesnt affect Spine Chill (or Premonition).

That's a known bug from the last patch.
As an aside, "Why is the sound on my pig not working?" is a question that sounds really bizzare outside of the context of DBD.
-
Freddy's probably the strongest, lore-wise. If we are talking just raw physical strength, then maybe Demogorgon?
If you want to exclude lisenced Killers, then probably either Trapper or Billy.
-
Nothing blocks spine chill, dude. As for Empathy & Dark Sense, the Blindness effect is generally pretty uncommon, and arent that good.
Killers are far from OP in general.

If the releases continue like this, they may need to space the Chapters out more.
But generally you want to keep a consistent schedule to keep players hooked.
And you would hopefully have a large enough dev pool that you can both have developers maintaining/scrutinizing the code for better coding practices/redundant code as well as performing new code additions (Though they probably are using SonarQube already).
I agree to an extent, but I think we can go without new Survivors for a little while. Just new Killers is fine. You cant really just not have new Killers because they are the meat and potatoes of the game's content, unlike Survivors who are largely just skins.
Having just one less thing to work on would help a lot I think, even if its only for 2 chapters.
-
According to latest patch notes, it's gone, unfortunately.

Nemesis is a Tyran, so him or MrX are basically the same, hell, I suspect that if we ever get the Tyran, one will the the skin of the other anyway. But as I said, despite being very iconic, they really dont have ANYTHING special outside of the "you can hear come come a mile away", but then again, that didn't stop BVH from finding clever way to give decent kit to that type of killer before.
Still, even if he's less iconic, I feel like the Licker would really bring some cool and unique gameplay to the table
Nemesis gets weaponry though, that's the main difference between him and Mr. X.
I could imagine his DBD incarnation getting his rocket launcher with super-limited ammo with no way to get more, like Pig's RBTs.
-
@_HN_ said:
I'll be honest, I'm surprised BVH didn't managed to struck a deal with Capcom after the massive success that was RE2R (and his not very bright lil brother R3R).
Racoon City LPD would make for a GREAT DbD playground and Leon and Clair would make for very iconic survivors, and for the killer you could go for the very iconic Tyrant (but ngl, he doesn't offer much in the way of intersting gamedesign) or a Licker with the abiltiy to jump on walls and make midrange attack with his thong.
I guess Capcom is playing hard to get...
If a DBDxRE crossover is gonna happen, it's gotta be Nemesis as the Killer, though I am not sure how you could make him both accurate to his character traits and make him viable for DBD.
-
Why would you nerf a killer who is mid-tier at best?
-
DC penalties should not only stay, they should be greatly increased.
-
Man, set cosmetics are dumb in the first place. Either make everything mixable, or make nothing mixable.
-
Maybe, but it could also be delayed due to them having to fix their massive blunders from the mid-chapter patch.
-
Lmao what, there are pallets everywhere and the majority of them are unmindgamable. It's extremely Survivor-sided.
-
"First: Do you believe that the game is survivor sided or killer sided?"
Very much Survivor-sided.
"Second: What rank are you?"
Well rank reset just happened, so Rank 5. Foremerly Rank 1. Both roles.
"Third: How long have you been playing/hours played approximately?"
Since Beta / Almost 3K hours
"Fourth: Do you have main characters with the perks that you want in these games at least for the most part?"
I have a handful of Survivors that are P3 with all perks, and have all Killers at P3 with all perks.
I'm not really concerned with prestiging more Survivors since they are just skins anyways, so I just put my spare BP into Killers.
"LASTLY: Are you a killer or survivor main?"
Used to play both equally, but am now almost entirely a Survivor main. I would like to play Killer more, but I'm not a masochist.

Red moss makes Demos undetectable status, like, 30 seconds long.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1942851#Comment_1942851
I actually kind of like using Stab Wound Study with Nasty Blade. Now that the Deep Wound timer is 20 seconds by default, this lowers it to 15. Decent slow down. At least meme-able now.
Red Moss adds 8 seconds to the default 2 seconds, and again, it's pointless anyways because Undetectable doesnt silence the sounds of teleportation and Demogorgon's loud as hell stomping as it walks.
-
Both of Nurse's Ultra Rares are basically straight downgrades to her power, the advantages they give do not even remotley make up for the downsides.
Shape's Judiths Tombstone is also really, really bad.
Hag's Waterlogged Shoe disables her ability to teleport in exchange for basically making her a really, really, bad version of Clown.
Bubba's Carburettor Tuning Guide basically makes him into old Bubba, which is not a good thing in the slightest.
Pig's Amanda's letter almost entirely removes her RBT & Boxes in exchange for giving you very short-range aura reading that only works while crouched.
Plague's Iri Seal massively nerfs her Corrupt Purge... in exchange for giving her Corrupt Purge whenever a Gen is completed, something she has zero control over.
Demo's Red Moss massively increases the cooldown of his teleport in exchange for giving a few extra seconds of Undetectable after teleporting, which is utterly pointless since the teleport makes a global sound cue and Demo still makes big stompy noises when Undetectable
That's not even to mention all the awful V.Rares, Rares, Uncommons, and Commons that either are:
A) So niche that they might as well do nothing
B) Have very minor upsides in exchange for big downsides
C) Are just straight downgrades.
Unlike Killers, Survivors dont really have any addons that are just straight, unambigious downgrades. BNPs are some of the best addons in the game..
If you think BNPs are even remotley close to being the worst Ultra Rares, then you really need some more perspective.
-
I got really confused when the thread creator said "So PTB is out sometime today", then I realized this thread was bumped up from last year.
-
Still Clown, Legion, or Trapper.
Clown's changes werent substantial enough to take him out of trash tier.
-
It was like that before patch too. You lose collision with the killer while in the post-hit speedboost state. There are many problems with this patch, but this aint one of them.
-
They look better on a technical level, but yeah I agree the new walk/run animations dont really have the same sense of urgency they used to.
The new getting downed animation I really liked though, I always hated the big goofy flips.
-
@Antrapace said:
The devs tried to help but unfortunately it was something that the vast majority of players never wanted to see past the PTB.
Numerous people used photoshop and other editing software to show what we would have preferred but that was never implemented.
So PLEASE keep your feedback and wording on this thread polite and civil as I don’t want the mods to have a “reason” to close it.
Lets get as many different names / imaginary signatures possible and perhaps, just perhaps they may bring out a quick patch to revert the UI to what it once was.
Thanks
PS If you can’t put it back to the way it was, then please make another new one and model it off the perfectly good one you just replaced.
PPS Below is the one players would be happy to see.
That image is pretty much perfect. Solves the "which name is what character" problem, and doesnt clash with the rest of the Ui like the character render portraits.

That’s what I mean though. If there’s going to be a PTB 3 weeks before release, we should be hearing something within the next few days, right?
Well, that depends on when the killer is scheduled to come out. As far as we know the Killer could be a late March release instead of an early March release, in which case we most likely wouldn't get the PTB until late in this month or early next month.
-
We probably wont be getting a teaser for at least another 2-3 weeks. Chapters usually come out on every 3rd month.
March- Slinger
April-
May-
June- P.Head
July-
Aug-
Sep- Blight
Oct-
Nov -
December- Twins
Jan-
Feb-
March- Probably next killer unless they hit a major delay

I thought he was supposed to be invisible whilst moving if beyond a certain range?
Who stands still as a Killer? Great way to throw the game...
Standing still: 100% invisible regardless of range, Moving: Shimmer visible at mid-close range, 100% invisible at long range.
As for standing still, yes normally it would be throwing the game, but not in the hatch situation.
If the Wraith just closes the hatch, the Survivor might already be at an exit and get it open before he can reach them.
If the Wraith sits on the hatch cloaked, the Survivor cannot open the gates until it is closed, so the Wraith can wait all day until he knows where the Survivor is.
-
Antidote is honestly not even worth using in 99.99% of situations unless maybe you run Cigar Box.
-
Not a bug, cloaked Wraith is only visible while moving. Sitting at the hatch as a cloaked Wraith and then closing it in the survivor's face is a classic trick.
-
Because it's very poorly designed.
-
Legion should be completley reworked, Freddy style. Who's bright idea was it to have a Killer whose whole gimmick is "there's 4 of them", and then not have that be the power?
It's like if Billy and Bubba just carried their chainsaws around without using them, or if Deathslinger didnt fire his gun and just used it exclusively as a melee weapon.
-
I'm not sure I aree with your rework in particular, but I do agree that the Unbroken emblem should be reworked into something else. I honestly dont think escaping should be part of the emblems system, escaping should just be a BP multiplier or something.
-
I would love a Cenobite killer. I would imagine them to be a Nurse-like killer: Really slow, but with an absurdly good power that makes up for it. I cant imagine them moving quickly.
I remember hearing that they are in legal hell like Jason though, not sure if that's true or not, but if it is then they unlikely to happen any time soon, unfortunately.
-
Addonless Clown is slightly better than he used to be because the reload speed buff, but they absolutley nerfed his addons into the ground.
Antidote is so useless its baffling why they even bothered adding it. Its bad to use in chase because Survivors benefit from it as well, and the speed boost it gives you is so minor that it's pointless to use for map mobility because the time it takes to reload your bottles wastes way more time than you save by using them.
Still one of the worst killers in the game, if not the worst.
-
It still has a tonne of unmindgamable pallets, the layout is still bad for the majority of killers for it used to be bad for, and they made it worse for one type of killer that it used to be good for, stealth killers.

That's one of the ways, the second is:
Chucky's hooks could have a handle that he pulls that drops the hook down on like a chain and then pulls survivor back up.
What do you think?
@Jarol said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1931412#Comment_1931412
Maybe hooking survivors, all that has to do with its power, but in itself, it would be a complex killer, but if they bring it, I'm sure it will have a new mechanism to hook or trap survivors, like Pyramid-Head and its cages.
@Healthore77992 What do you think?
I actually thought about this a while ago. A lot of people forget that Chucky/Charles Lee Ray was involved in voodoo stuff.
His pick up & carry animations could be using a voodoo doll to force the survivor to pick him up and carry him in their arms, with his own arms free to slash people. The struggle animation is the survivor attempting to break free of the control, and the stun animation is the survivor breaking free of the control tossing Chucky to the ground and giving him a stomp. The hooking animation is Chucky forcing the Survivor to hook themselves. Edit: Didnt see Asherfrost had a similar idea above, but whatever.
-
I havent seen a single Twins player since the first few days after she was released.
-
Pretty much. Using the normal bottles is better in nearly ever single situation. It's not even good for map mobility because the speed boost amount and duration is so negligible that it's not worth spending one of your bottles, which you then have to reload. The fact that it also buffs Survivors and not just the Clown is just the cherry on top of the sewage cake.
-
BHVR has 2 tenets they hold themselves to absolutely.
1) When players ask for certain changes, it either never happens or takes years to get done and then is still not quite what the players wanted in the first place.
2) They make changes nobody asked for in PTB, get widespread negative feedback for those changes, they push it to live anyways.
Truly a fascinating company.
-
The new UI is just utterly disgusting and should be reverted immediately.
-
DBD is a game that people pay for. Paying customers are 300% justified in giving negative feedback to things they dont like.
-
The only thing I would add to it is making it give you a massive BP bonus if you manage to escape with it. Like multiplying your BP by 300%.
It's a challenge perk, it's not supposed to be good.
-

Just one word: object sniping across the map
That's five words.
-
It's a little underpowered if anything. Not trash, but not good either. If it didnt give bonus bloodpoints it's usage rate would be way, way, way less than it currently is.
-
@Lexilogo said:
Clock Tower would be awesome, but I wonder if BHVR would consider it potentially profitable enough to warrant seeking out the license.
It's also worth noting that Sunsoft currently own the IP for Clock Tower. I don't know whether or not they'd be willing to lend the license, but they appear at least from an outsider's POV to be one of those companies that purely exists to hold IP rights for potential later use, at least for right now. Not sure if BHVR would be able to make proper contact and negotiate for the rights.
I'm honestly not sure why they would refuse an offer if BHVR made one.
It would make them a good amount of profit with zero work required on their part.
-
Yes, absolutley would love a Clock Tower chapter.
-
I agree on not needing perk tiers. They have literally no reason to exist except to make the game grindier. It was okay when there was like only 20-ish perks per side, but now there's 80-ish perks per side it's completley absurd. Unless you are the type of person to only play like one or two characters and never touch any others, the amount of grinding you need to do just to keep all your characters kitted out is insane.
And as you said, having multiple tiers just makes more work for the devs anyways, as opposed to having just 1 tier.
