I’ve only really Main the Old Freddy. Since his rework, I play everyone. I will say I’m on my 2nd week of Twins, I might main them.
Nice to meet you, fellow Old Freddy main. Let me guess, miss our old killer?

Freddy. He is my babe. He is perfect.

Keys are the only thing capable of making me change my usual build to the Forever Freddy one. You want the game to end earlier? Sorry, it won't.
-
I play DBD for the three "Fs"
F- Fun: No other game provides as much fun as DBD does. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, that it is my favourite game.
F- Friends: We all hate to be alone, don't we? Playing with friends just makes everything much better!
F- Freddy: He is my babe, I love him.

Freddy would be a great bush trimmer now that I think about it.
Indeed, he would. Trimming bushes and finding Claudettes all day.

Darkest Moonlight + Fog offering + Dead Dawg Saloon + P3 Claudettes
No thanks 💀
Just keep randomly attacking bushes. You will get them eventually.

What was the reasoning for removing these?
Devs needed more control over the exact lighting they decide to set in each map, and Moonlight offerings were making this harder to accomplish.
In my opinion, they should bring them back as soon as the map reworks are done.

Yes!
Reject Basement and Hatch! Embrace Moonlight!

Now that you've mentioned it, there is indeed an insane amount of Prove Thyself's lately. However, one Prove Thyself means one less Unbreakable, DS, Dead Hard... So, it is not that bad.
-
To be fair, most of the killer roaster can't deal with a 4 man death squad. I dare say only Nurse and Spirit can win such trials.
-
Interesting fact: Wraith used to have add-ons which increased Lightburn resistance. The strongest, "Blind Warrior" - Spirit, granted full immunity to Lightburn. However, they were decommissioned.

The game has some charm for both sides, even if it isn't interactive traditionally.
Midwich is like Hardonfield but NOBODY is having fun, not the survivors nor killer. It says something about you if you think that is better or worse, though I don't know what.
And yeah, BHVR really should do emergency disables and hotfixes. They won't though, because disabling content puts you on a fairly strict clock to fix it. That is part of why they SHOULD do it, and do that to content more often (ex: Emergency disabling of OoO while they were fixing it, emergency disabling keys while they don't have a fix to go along with moris), because it would encourage good development habits to have a real 'cost' to being slow on fixes instead of doing more 'interesting' content, but they won't.
"Midwich is like Hardonfield but NOBODY is having fun, not the survivors nor killer. It says something about you if you think that is better or worse, though I don't know what."
That awkward moment when Midwich is your favourite map...
-
I am so weak that everyone would be S Tier against me.
-
And here is mine:
-
I don't mind. It is a good opportunity for a sweet, sweet Dream Projection mindgame.
-
"Freddy - If you see a dumbass on red rank - it's freddy main. He doesn't even know how to play, mindgame or properly loop, but that killer carried him to red ranks anyway"
I understand you want to rant, but that doesn't give you the right to call out Freddy mains like that. I have mained him ever since I first started playing, prior to his rework. Just because I play my favourite killer, that doesn't make me a "dumbass" who can't loop properly. Rant as much as you want, but please be respectful.

yepp, I'm the same.
Plus it makes the matches a bit more spicy!
Indeed! Especially with Haunted Ground.
-
Before Crossplay was a thing, I clearly remember facing that one Claudette 2 times in a row. Killed her the first time, but gave her the hatch the second time. Luckily, she was a pretty chill player and we even chatted for a little bit afterwards.
-
If it glows, it goes. It is the law!
-
That would hurt her mindgame potential, wouldn't it? Maybe, just maybe, she needs some sort of change, but I think it should be something less "obvious" than chase music.

And yet again someone shaming people for playing a certain killer. Freddy may be easy but that doesn’t give you the right to call out Freddy mains. Also, he isn’t overpowered at all. Nurse, Spirit, Hag, Oni, Huntress, PH, and Blight are all easily better than him imo.
Thank you, my friend. I appreciate it <3

I think the reason why a good amount of people despise Freddy is because of the frustration that comes when playing against him...
I have 3k+ hours and play daily with a swf that has the same amount of hours and we all hate him. Unlike other killers, we don't find the match enjoyable when its Freddy. His power(S) are just way too easy and 80% of the ones we come across with just taunt us every game (hitting on hook, shaking left/right after a down, hate mail, etc.) so it's become a norm for all four of us to hate him. Thats why we sweat hard against him and try to get out of there as soon as possible because we don't like him at all... just a pure boring match. They need to also fix his hotboxes, that would be appreciated.
Though yes I agree and that other killers are BETTER than him, those better killers take much more skill to use which my swf and I (along w/ other ppl) would rather prefer going against.
There is nothing, I repeat, nothing wrong with his hitboxes. They are the same as every other killer, but it LOOKS weird because of his character model.
I main Freddy and have done so ever since I first started playing, prior to his rework. I guarantee, he isn't as easy as you probably think he is.

Sounds about right, balance team has their head in the spreadsheets rather than the game.
I also feel like Freddys free camping is something of note. Even if you dont have BT, a normal killer might respect it thinking its their and go after the fresh survivor, Freddy needs only to look at the left of the screen to know for a fact that BT won’t be active if the unhooking survivor is asleep. Then its a free slug or maybe even another hook if he wants to risk DS.
Freddys lethality also comes when hes knocking down survivors left and right and using BBQ/Discordance to teleport to Gens for Pop kicks.
Freddy is a bit of a mid-late game killer imo, a bit like Hag. He grows with power when survivors are asleep, the map is covered in snares, and hes juggling survivors for free Pop kicks constanty. His early game is incredibly weak, if a swf team rushes gens you can see how much it hurts him but naturally you play solo and claudette goes to hide in a bush, Nea goes to raid every chest for a flashlight and Bill....ends up being Bill. It’s all wasted time.
"I also feel like Freddys free camping is something of note"
Why would someone camp while playing Freddy? It is like camping while playing Spirit or Nurse...

That would still give him free power up, though it would make the options for dealing with it a lot more manageable for Survivors. It's kind of an even trade off, so it's be worth considering. A few Freddy mains could weigh in with opinions on which they'd prefer.
"A few Freddy mains could weigh in with opinions on which they'd prefer."
As you wish. There is a problem with your suggestion: if they get rid of passive sleep most of your add-ons would be useless until you hit everyone (unless you are using Red Paint Brush, Swing Chains or Pill Bottle), and even if they are all injured, they can just get to an alarm clock easily. Furthermore, most of the time Dream Snares and Pallets would be useless against healthy survivors, unless they refuse to wake up, which is a big mistake.
Honestly, Freddy doesn't need changes. He is fine.

Freddy, Demo and Huntress.

I agree. Sounds like a very good idea. As a Freddy main, I vow to help Spirit mains whenever I can.
People always say that Freddy and Spirit, are OP, "pay to win", broken, and the list goes on. I am tired of this. I just want to play my favourite killer ;-;

@Sluzzy said:
Playing 3 games already this morning and it was Huntress every game, I'm already done. I'm going to eat my cereal and leave the rest to endure that. It's pretty clear Huntress is a crutch killer as much as it is spammed constantly. When something is used that much, it means there is a problem. Hatchets that are unavoidable and uncounterable, killers crutch on things that have no counterplay to gain a massive unfair advantage. But lets make it a huge priority to nerf a fair survivor perk again and leave Huntress in her busted state. Too many hatchets to make up for mistakes with almost no cooldown, mammoth hitboxes that are too forgiving and gigantic, a lullaby that is non-directional. Broken.
Ah, yes. "Broken".
Why you are complaining about Huntress is beyond me, Sluzzy.

D tier is full of people that kill people. I don’t like that. S tier has a waifu.
Wrong. S Tier is a synonym of perfection, and there is just 1 perfect character in DBD. I will show you the real Tier List.

Infinite Mending Legion? I don't think I've faced one before, what's that entail?
Words cannot express how lucky you are, my friend. Infinite Mending Legion was a terrifying exploit, which could be done by using his Filthy Blade and Nasty Blade add-ons to greatly extend mending time. Basically, every time you got hit by Frenzy and get the mend timer it kept increasing the time required to mend.
For example if it was at base 15 seconds and the add-on adds 5 seconds the first time you mend would take 20 seconds, and then if Legion uses Frenzy on you again it's 25 seconds the second time. And it kept adding more and more every time you got a fresh mend timer until it would take over a minute to mend yourself, and then you were either stuck committing to the mend, which could result in you getting found and downed by Legion, or you purposely went into dying state so another survivor could recover you.
-
In my experience, facing a toxic killer is extremely rare. Almost impossible, actually. But I do have a very, very old story, back from when I first started playing DBD. I was having a very good day playing, with lots of challenging and fun trials. Suddenly, an Infinite Mending Legion pops out of nowhere. I believe I don't even have to continue.
-
Freddy. He is my babe. He is perfect.

Well, it's not meant to be an anti-tunnel perk. Its original functionality was to be a second chance perk. They could have restricted its activation to something else other than anti-tunnel capabilities, since you can still not necessarily be tunneled, and if you are getting hard-tunneled, DS is a singular stun for 5 seconds, and now you're completely vulnerable to tunneling.
Correct. We all remember the old DS. However, that perk was not healthy for the game. You know it, I know it, everyone knows it. The only good thing about the Old DS, was that you could completely avoid it by juggling the survivor.
-
It is wise to avoid the basement, if you can, as it can be a death sentence. For example, yesterday I was having a really bad trial as Oni on Gas Heaven, but I managed to turn the tide and get a 3k because a Meg got downed right next to the basement.
-
Honestly, this is fair. Every game should be like this.

I question the tone that I'm getting from you right now.
Bit of an assumption that I play swf when I'm just trying to be inclusive for "the lads" who do actually play pure swf. Also an assumption that I have to be on comms to call out the killer/totems/traps/gen progress/perks/etc. It's not impossible, just harder.
Yes, SWF is hard for killers to play against. Yes, it can be very unfair for new killers. Yes, bully squads are comprised of [BAD WORD] folks.
That doesn't mean that I'm not allowed to dislike Freddy, get off your high horse.
By the by, I enjoy playing killer frequently, and I still hate Freddy. Playing him isn't fun or challenging like the old Freddy.
He didn't need to be "standardized," he was hard for a reason.
So you miss Old Freddy? I know how that feels like. As much as I love the current Freddy, I would do anything to get my old killer back.

Killers are cry bbabies, check the different threads on this forum and the steam one for the last 4 years, 80% of the thread crying are from killers, that's why the survivors had been nerfed so much.
And now that the kill rate is above 70% you killers are still crying and saying the game is surv favored lol.
Of course they are, do you know how DBD was on release? Double pallets, infinite loops, insta heals, insta gen (BNP), exhaustion recovering while running, shack with 2 windows, and the list goes on. Killers have been the weaker side of DBD for years, and they still are. Those old, supposedly "cry threads" are justified.

Depends what is your main but getting a 4k with the hag or Stridor Spirit doesn't require anything. It doesn't involve map control, skill or brain. It's just W+M1 or W+scroll+M1 and you get kills...
If you don't perform well with Demo and Trapper it means you have 0 map control and you don't know how to apply pressure so yes you are a bad killer.
It would be like saying on Valorant i'm performing great with the Odin but i'm not good with the Vandal, does this mean i have a bad aim ? Yes it does, clearly.
"If you don't perform well with Demo and Trapper it means you have 0 map control and you don't know how to apply pressure so yes you are a bad killer."
A thousand times wrong. Some people, like me, don't like playing those killers and therefore don't perform well with them. Besides, Demo and Trapper are weak killers. You can't get 4k after 4k with them if they aren't your mains, especially against SWF Teams.
It is pretty obvious who my main is, my profile picture is the answer, but is doesn't change a thing.

I miss the old-style events that had you hook people on special hooks and repair special gens, collecting tokens for cosmetics. They were simple, yet fun.
Really liked Moonrise as well, the lantern mechanic was creative and great fun, same for Hallowed Blight's pustula-harvesting.
Me too, my friend. I hope they bring back those kind of events in the future, it is so much better than log-in rewards.
Sadly, I wasn't around for Scorching Summer BBQ and Hallowed Blight. It was before my time. But Moonrise... by the Entity, Moonrise was so much fun! I scoured maps with Old Freddy, looking for the lamps.
