My favourite wholesome moment happened a long time ago. I had just started playing DBD and there I was: an innocent default Claudette on Rotten Fields when, suddenly, Doctor comes to my gen (probably because I failed every single Skill Check) and decides to chase me. I was so scared that I began to run and dropped the nearest pallet in panic. Of course, Doctor wasn't even close to it. Instead of breaking it, he just... stood there. I don't remember his rank, but I presume he already had some kind of experience and realised that there was something wrong with matchmaking. And he left me! I was so relived and confused, but happy that I had been granted mercy and made a friend :)
However, this story has a sad ending. After the third survivor was killed, I started to look for the hatch, something that I already knew of thanks to a friend. I found it, and so did Doctor. He had been friendly before, so he would let me escape, right? Nope. As I jumped, he grabbed me mid-air and hooked me.
I don't know why he changed his mind, but I will never forget this match.
-
I know how it feels. I am trying to get this achievement and it is a nightmare.
As you know, this achievement is a remnant from a better time (unpopular opinion, but personally I don't like EGC and I miss hatch standoffs. Call me crazy if you want to). It was situational before, and now it is even worse.
My advice? Luck.

I can’t get enough of WGLF. I can’t ever take it off.
Same. WGLF and BBQ can, basically, cut the grind in half and that is amazing. Besides, no slugging allowed.
-
Survivor:
1- Adrenaline
2- WGLF
3- Sprint Burst
4- Borrowed Time
Killer:
1- Blood Warden
2- BBQ
3- Hex: Ruin
4- Corrupt Intervention
-
Yep! I know some killer mains and survivor mains who would hate my choices here. But what can I do? I mean, they have been my mains ever since I first started playing, and over the years I've grown attached to them.
-
Claudette and Freddy.

Hold on, you have a Decrepit Clapboard on your Dwight? Damn, I am jealous now. When I first started playing, Brown and Yellow map offerings had already been removed from the Bloodweb.

Having the option to slug means it isn’t an invincibility perk, especially paired up with many penalties by design
And then good old Unbreakable comes into play, which is pretty much always paired up with DS. Imagine the following scenario: you are playing your favourite killer on Gas Heaven, and you see a recently unhooked survivor, which happens to be the obsession, working on a generator. What do you do?
-Attack them and slug? Unbreakable and they are up again.
-Grab then? DS
-Leave them be? Gen gets done.
This is full invincibility and it must go.
-
If you are being tunneled, DS still does its job. 60 seconds of full invincibility is not healthy for the game. Never was, and never will be.
-
My babe is a smol boi, and that is why his lunge LOOKS weird. But it is actually the same as every other killer.
-
The new chapter is disappointing, at best. I just want to see the DS Nerf, Wraith and Blight changes and the new game breaking bugs.

Trust me, I definitely have. Same thing with Oni, and it is possible to dodge.

Every time I see this offering I just want to cry:

There's a lot more to it, like the fact that the landing zone has collision, but yes, unless you play and understand her, it's borderline impossible to truly grasp how best to counter her.
Which, sadly, is not going to happen. I am so bad with Nurse that watching me play her must feel like a nightmare.

It's hard to explain. I wanted to explain this in another thread, but it's something you can only truly understand if you've played Nurse yourself.
Due to the way hitboxes work, when the Nurse charges a blink to go through, say, a tree, there's a window where no matter how much she charges, she'll end up in the same place. If you understand how her blink landing zone travels, you can determine which side of an object the Nurse is going to end up on.
Now, you can understand the theory behind it as I've explained it, but unless you've played the Nurse yourself and truly understand her, these are just words.
I see. I understand what you mean, but without playing Nurse, which is not gonna happen, it is basically impossible to determine where she is going to end up on.
But it certainly helps. Thank you, I appreciate it.

Well I expect his snares and teleports being changed, these are the main thing on him that many M1 Killers would wish and are the reason he's going to be changed.
I still miss my favorite build with the double block addons, can't count how many times I grabbed cocky survivovrs 😂
Ah, sweet sweet block add-ons. Nostalgia is killing me right now. I also loved to use Pill Bottle, some survivors got really desperate because they couldn't see you during the Transition. So many free hits...
Truth be told, what a fun killer Old Freddy was!

I make Nurses pray for mercy (though I must admit I am a bit rusty).
How is that even possible? Please, teach me.
-
@Orion said:
I'm sorry, OP, but your complaint doesn't make much sense to me.
You say that you're doing the same thing over and over again with the Nurse and Spirit, and present this as an issue. However, you already do the same thing over and over again with every other killer, yet this isn't an issue for you (in fact, you say that those killers are "fun" to go against).
For me, Nurse and Spirit are fun to go against precisely because they're different. They're fun because you need to change your playstyle, instead of doing the same thing you do against every other killer.
"For me, Nurse and Spirit are fun to go against precisely because they're different. They're fun because you need to change your playstyle, instead of doing the same thing you do against every other killer."
Glad to see that someone agrees with me! I love how unique they are, especially Spirit. Nurse is fun as well, but an actual god-tier Nurse just makes you want to pray for mercy sometimes.

I was a Freddy main with the OLD one before the rework, and I loved that mechanic(great concept, bad implemented in game). Being a main of him after his rework won't surprise me.
Playing with Freddy requires skill? Yesn't. It requires basic Killer knowledge to play with him, of course a rank 20 won't do well with him. You see, there's nothing special about him which requires skill, his power, his teleport, it all requires just your basic knowledge as Killer such as:
- I will fake my red glow here to get a hit
- I will double back here
- I will fake this window
- I will fake this grab
- I will drop this chase it's not worth
- ######### that corner gen
He's just a basic M1 Killer with extra less work to do, he doesn't need to walk to gens and has free slowdown at loops which both requires nothing special about the Freddy gameplay except the basic sense of playing Killer. Like I said, too much reward for less effort.
About the screenshot of your match, you won that match because of your knowledge as Killer, and not because of your skills with Freddy. Also I'm not despising your work of being a main Freddy and calling you bad, I'm sure you know how to play efficiently with him, but the work you have to do in that match probably wasn't that big for the reward you gained.
"I was a Freddy main with the OLD one before the rework, and I loved that mechanic"
Oh, just like me then. That is nice! It is always a pleasure for me to meet fellow Old Freddy mains.
While I do agree with you to some extent, I still think things like proper Snare placement and Dream Projection mindgames takes skill. And, even if it doesn't, it is not enough to justify a nerf.

Obviously.
Studying your brain will prove to be the key to discovering the 4th dimension.
Then let it be studied. For science.

But have you considered that your brain just isn't omnipresent enough in multiple dimensions to enjoy playing against Spirit?
Wait, I enjoy playing against Spirit. Does that mean my brain is omnipresent?

I wouldn't worry about it. It is hard to trust the devs but it's always good to keep positive thoughts while still preparing for the worst. I don't see it being that major of a nerf but we'll see.
I hope so. I just don't want to see him gutted.
And damn, look at me now, defending a power which I never wanted in the first place. I wasn't very supportive of his rework back on 2019, I just wanted a few buffs and QoL improvements. And now, I am scared of a major nerf. Well, I suppose things change.
@Kees_T said:

People ask for nerfs to him for some reason right? Devs informed Freddy will have some changes and I hope it makes Freddy players use at least some brain cells.
There's a Nurse level that requires you constant map awareness and muscle memory to do well with her and there's Freddy level that requires literally no work for his reward.
People ask for nerfs because they don't want to adapt. And what makes you think that Freddy doesn't require skill?
As a long time Freddy main, I assure you that if you play him wrong, you will lose. Let me give an example:
A screenshot from a recent match. Ruin got cleansed early on and Swing Chains alone can't stop gens. If I had played this match "without using brain cells", I would have lost. And I am not saying I am a very good killer, as I am honestly not that good. All I am saying is that Freddy does require skill.
-
Well, maybe a few players here and there just want revenge. You know, because of her terrifying scream that was just as bad as PTB Kate.

My guy, I never said that I disagreed with that so why bring that whataboutism bs in here? Small pp builds and killers that are just M1 are things that need to be addressed, but this thread was specifically about Nurse and Spirit. Both are unfun to fight because neither provide reliable counterplay.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2038452#Comment_2038452
Yeah, I love Spirit, I love her power as it's fun to play as. If survivors had some form of counterplay to work with, then I might have even more fun with her.
In regards to Freddy, I don't like playing against him, but I hope the devs take good care of him in his upcoming nerf :)
Yeah, maybe some form of counterplay is a good change... as long as they don't gut her, of course.
"but I hope the devs take good care of him in his upcoming nerf :)"
I appreciate the optimism, but we both know they won't. I am afraid Freddy is going to get the "Billy treatment", or even worse.
-
Regarding Nurse, I agree to some extent. Playing against a good Nurse is a fun and challenging experience, but when you go against an actual god-tier Nurse there isn't much you can do.
Regarding Spirit, I disagree. Playing against Spirit is... unique. And that is what it makes it fun. I don't think she need changes, but then again, I am not a Spirit main, like you are. If you say that she needs changes, then she probably needs changes.
P.S: I am glad you've decided not to include my babe. I already had to deal with an entire thread of people asking for nerfs and it was a very displeasing experience.
-
Visually? Pretty good. I don't think it was a necessary change (I really liked the old versions) but I can't deny that it is visually better.
Balance wise? Not so good. Yamaoka and Badham barely improved. Autohaven, MacMillan and Ormond haven't changed much, but they are a little bit better. The Game and Crotus Prenn are, in my opinion, worse. Crotus Prenn still has some of its insane loops and The Game... well, II don't think I have to continue...
-
What?
Alright then, so survivors shouldn't be able to 99% gates and healing. It is only fair.
-
I don't want to spend a weekend without my babe :(

The devs confirmed that a nerf is coming, but honestly can't confirm when it's coming. I just had a freddy with the red brush and the repair slowdown add-ons with thana/pop/bbq/tinkerer on Lerry's. The game lasted 15-18 minutes and it was so ######### boring. I managed to escape through hatch and post game we get a "ggez" from the rank one freddy main. Everytime we 85% a gen, he was there to stop us. Easily the most boring game I've ever played.
So, I want the Freddy nerf as much as you do, maybe even more because freddy makes me wanna puke. But I don't have a specific time that the nerf is going to hit the ptb or the live servers
Just because you had a boring match, doesn't mean that something should get nerfed. Otherwise I would be crying for Ghostface to get nerfed to the ground. But I don't do that, because it is not right.
Freddy has been my main ever since I first started playing, prior to his rework. I guarantee you that he is not OP and definitely does not requires a nerf.
-
It is not hard to dodge their hits. If something is to be done about their movement, then something must be done about survivors spinning.
-
If I, and at least 1 other teammate, manage to escape the trial.

Welcome to the club.
Thank you, my friend! I better start searching for even more cute bear pictures.
-
By the Entity, this title scared me. For a moment, I thought you were going to talk about one of my worst nightmares. THE most dreadful, broken, and unfair Legion build that ever existed. Infinite Mending Legion rings a bell, doesn't it?
As for the Thana + Ruin combo, it is not that bad. Legion is not a very strong killer, and this combo alone can't hold the gens forever.
-
The devs have already confirmed that Huntress is getting an add-on pass. No reason to complain about it anymore.
-
At this point, Sluzzy, I am convinced it is just bait. I wasn't sure before, but now... I mean, Dragon's Grip? Really?

Yui is waaaaaay too low
Well, in my opinion A Tier suits Yui just fine. She is attractive, but not as attractive as some of the others, such as Claudette (best girl <3) and Kate.
-
And here is mine:
-
1. Élodie. Make her pay for almost making me deaf.
2. Ghostface. No more broken reveal mechanic
3. Freddy. He is my killer babe. I love him
4. Claudette. She is my survivor babe. I love her.
5. YES!
6. Ghostface... Reveal mechanic... you get the idea
7. Élodie and PTB Kate... Screams.
8. Huntress
9. Hex: Ruin because it helps me slow the game down...just a little bit.
10. Blood Warden and Adrenaline.
-
Ah, people still complain about my main, I see. I am getting tired of reading such posts. Freddy has been my main ever since I first started playing, prior to his rework. Old Freddy was not as bad as most people say he was, but he did need a few buffs and QoL changes.
But we all know that didn't happen, and he got a full rework instead. Is he OP now? No, he is not. Never was, and never will be. At the end of the day, Freddy is a M1 killer. If you spam your Snares, that might cost you the match. Passive sleep doesn't make a huge difference if he doesn't have slowdown add-ons. And, if he does, it is easy to push through them and finish the gens. As for pallets... well, no one complain about pallets.
And that is pretty much it. Do not cry for nerfs. Adapt.
-
After this, I must admit my opinion is wrong... Just kidding, for with the mighty power of the Bear I lightburn this Wraith into oblivion.
Bears will always be superior. But cows are cute too. So everyone is happy.

I did not say they are Killer Perks. But you also said quite often that you dont even play Killer.
And well, bringing up Detectives Hunch and Small Game is funny - people complain all the time that Survivors use the same Perks over and over again. But using other Perks which help to find Totems seems to be bad as well. Damn, those Survivor Perks!
"people complain all the time that Survivors use the same Perks over and over again. But using other Perks which help to find Totems seems to be bad as well. Damn, those Survivor Perks!"
Why would anyone complain about Small Game and Detective's Hunch? It is much better than DH + UB + DS over and over again.
-
You are complaining about a well deserved nerf for a broken perk which has been abused for years, Sluzzy.

-
"please allow me to blind/stun the killer when he is in the animation of picking the survivor up"
This is a terrible idea. It has been tested before (I imagine Patch 1.9.2 rings a bell...) and it was one of the most broken and unfair features DBD has ever known. We don't need that thing back.

Yea, I mean, who would spend so much timing learning and mastering a killer and then be 100% okay with a full rework?
Wish they would get the rights to Robert Englunds Freddy and the bring back Old Freddy. I’m down for Freddy and Retro Freddy and your damn right, between both of those Freddy being playable, I’d still choose the more difficult power.
Yea, I know how that feels. I've spent hours trying to master Old Freddy, and even more hours trying to master the current one. I like the current Freddy, but I would do anything to play the old one again. He was a very underrated killer which, honestly, didn't need a full rework, just some buffs and QoL changes.
