but was there a Nea as one of the survivors?
🙃
Yes, there was. Wait a minute...

A trial with 5 survivors and no killer.

Something scary.

Well, if mobile Twitter recommends it...
Anyway, I've experienced this too - if a survivor who is dead in front of you activates Sprint Burst/Balanced Landing, your lunge will miss even if realistically they shouldn't have had enough time to build the distance to evade it. Seems like a problem with hit prediction.
Ah, yes. The optimal build to escape from killers. It might be a little OP tho.
-
Ok, for a moment I thought "Sprint Burst / Balanced Landing / Lithe" was a build.
And then I was like: "Why would you run BL and Lithe with SB?" And then I realised...
I am ######### stupid.

Never let the past die, I suppose.

Great idea! One question though what would his terror radius be at? His new one is 32m but if I’m not mistaken his old one was 16m
Id say 24m would be fine for him
Oh, to be honest with you I completely forgot about his terror radius.
But I like your suggestion. 24 m sounds fine.

Lery's was my favourite map from the day I started playing to the day when the rework ruined it. I think indoor maps are a much better option for me.

Perhaps you can give me some insight why people have been asking for Old Freddy back all of a sudden? I'm just curious because while I've sometimes seen the odd person asking for old freddy back I've seen it a lot more lately despite how much of a mockery it was made into way back pre-rework
Well, I obviously cannot speak for everyone here, but I was never supportive of his rework back in 2019. Actual Freddy mains cared not for that "mockery" and understood that he a lot of potential if you learned how to play him properly.
They've always wanted him back. And right now, Freddy is going through some undesired changes. It is the perfect moment to ask for our old killer back.

Well old freddy doesn't really line up with the way BHVR likes to design killers these days. They've drastically shifted and reworked most killers to fit their 'new blueprint' if you will. Look at how they reworked Doctor, for example.
I don't think they're ever gonna make a killer who can't even hit survivors without having to do something first or a killer who's power reduces your action speed like old freddy did.
This is all just my perspective though, none of it is fact.
That is true, however no one was truly happy with New Freddy's power, and the recent nerf just made it worse.
Even if he doesn't line up with the current "blueprint" (which is amazing), it is not a good idea to let him stay like this, with a generic power that very few actually enjoy.

general having look at the moives which way can we implement freddy as a whole to make him like the moives or somewhat like his old self
If we want to be 100% faithful to the movies, than we would need to make him a god who can do literally anything in the Dream World.
However, bringing back his old self is the right thing to do. Here is my proposed idea:
Pull survivors into the Dream World
-Survivors who are awake do not see The Nightmare.
-Once targeted by The Nightmare’s power, survivors enter the Dream Transition for 7 seconds.
-During the Dream Transition Survivors can see glimpses of The Nightmare and they suffer from the Incapacitated status effect.
-When the Dream Transition Lapse, the Survivor is pulled into the Dream World.
Once in the Dream World:
-Survivor’s auras are revealed to The Nightmare when they are outside of his terror radius.
-Survivors suffer an action speed penalty of 40%.
-To exit the Dream World, Survivors can find non-sleeping Survivors to perform a wake up action.
-Failed Generator Skill Checks can also wake up.
-Hooked Survivors wake up.
Special Ability: Dream Projection
-Teleport to a Generator in view. Releasing the button early will cancel the action.
-Survivors cannot interact with the targeted Generator.
-For each Survivor in the Dream World, the cool-down of using Dream Projection is reduced by stack-able 20%.

I don't quite understand why people want Old Freddy back all of a sudden
Is it nostalgia? I can't wrap my head around it. I kinda liked the concept of old freddy but I just don't think it suits the current state of the game. Not anymore than it did back then at least
Back then? You mean, with pallet vacuum, double pallets and infinite loops?
I think he suits the current state of the game.
-
Indeed, and this is the perfect moment to do it.
I have a proposed idea for a Freddy rework, if I may share it:
Pull survivors into the Dream World
-Survivors who are awake do not see The Nightmare.
-Once targeted by The Nightmare’s power, survivors enter the Dream Transition for 7 seconds.
-During the Dream Transition Survivors can see glimpses of The Nightmare and they suffer from the Incapacitated status effect.

I do miss old freddy maybe an add on could make so we can play old freddy. But rework him back to his old self with some buffs? Don't think it will happen. I did enjoy old freddy but his power was very weak to the point that survivors saw him as a free win.
Which was something you could use to your advantage, sometimes. I mean, I have seen good survivors get killed by Old Freddy because of overconfidence.

That, I could agree with. It would mean Survivors only get a small bonus to loop times. But they could no longer unhook, work on gens, or open exit gates directly in front of a hapless Freddy.
Oh, glad to see that you agree with my idea. It is a simple fix, but it would help him immensely.
-
Ok, this thread proves that most people want Old Freddy back, which is amazing and I love y'all for that. But, the few who don't want him back have one complaint in common: his inability to interrupt actions during the Dream Transition.
Said complaint is totally understandable. It was one of his weaknesses, after all. So, please allow me to offer a solution, straight from my proposed idea for a Freddy rework:
-During the Dream Transition Survivors can see glimpses of The Nightmare and they suffer from the Incapacitated status effect.
This should prevent those situations from ever happening again.
Thoughts?
-
I most certainly do, my friend! I really want my main back, and this is literally the perfect moment for the devs to give him back to us.

I’m sure @GeneralV can back me up but old Freddy wasn’t completely terrible. He just requires a different playstyle to do well
New Freddy is just boring tbh
Indeed. Old Freddy required a different playstyle because of how unique he was, however he wasn't terrible and I dare say he was a solid mid-tier if you knew what you were doing.
-
Pretty bad, in my opinion. I really don't like that brightness.
-
Freddy's nerf and his rework have something in common, both unnecessary. He still is A Tier, granted, but it hurts way more than it should, while failing to address his problems.
Old Freddy must return. That is the correct thing to do.
-
I was about to make a serious comment about the horror experience and then I realised it was a joke...
Well, I tried :)
-
The add-ons themselves were not the problem, the main issue is that they were always active without Freddy doing anything.
Take Old Freddy, for example. Old Dream World + Old Dying Light + 4 stacks Thanatophobia = roughly 91% slowdown. However, all you had to do was heal and wake up, and more than half of it was gone. And the killer obviously worked for it.
With Freddy's current power, all you had to do was equip the add-ons. Nothing else. But they shouldn't have turned them into some poor excuse of an add-on with a useless effect.
But then again, they shouldn't have reworked Freddy in the first place.
-
In my opinion, Freddy, Huntress, Blight and Myers are extremely fun to play against.

Nope, I agree.
The new Coldwind just feels so much more survivor sided. All of the main buildings were buffed, the generic tiles feel longer and weirder to navigate, the corn feels thicker, and the sun is so bright that it sometimes hurts my eyes. Not to mention, just like most other reworks, the new objects have janky collision, making Blight harder to play.
Oh, glad to see that you agree, my friend.
And I agree with what you've said. I had not mentioned them because ambience > balance, in my opinion. However, some of those maps are really insane now. Fractured CowHell has a room with 2 breakable walls, which is frustrating by itself.

Did you catch something?
Sounds crazy, doesn't it? But I just don't like that brightness, I don't like that daylight. It doesn't feel scary, it doesn't feel like DBD.
It doesn't feel right.
Swamp in the other hand has its issues, no one is crazy enough to deny it, but at least it has that eerie feeling that most reworked maps have lost. Swamp feels like DBD.
-
I might stand alone on this one, but I don't like new Coldwind at all. I would much rather play Swamp all day long.
-
It disheartens me to say it, but it is true. Freddy's new add-ons are useless, one of the worst changes I've ever seen.
-
The thing is, killers do get punished for camping. Take this match, for example:
Not the best screenshot out there, but that is me being camped by a Plague. Legacy Meg and Yun-Jin managed to save me, and in the end we all escaped.
If she hadn't camped me, she would've been able to win. There is punishment.

I agree completely.

"Freddy can still teleport to the survivor objective with BBQ"
My baby just got nerfed, please give him a break :(
-
Well, I hated Trickster's lobby but I would love to have the option to change it as we please.
Halloween 2017 lobby is just S Tier imo, and I would use it 24/7 if I could:

Honestly, before Blight I was almost done with this game, then Twins and Trickster happened.
I still think Twins are the worst chapter ever released (I'm including Legion) but after the changes to Trickster I'm having great fun as him.
Outside of breakable walls continuing to make me wonder why they exist and some of the maps being too dark, the map reworks look fantastic.
Good balance changes and QoL changes like hooks, took a while but they're here.
I'm hopeful for the future of this game again but I'm not getting too hyped yet.

I don't think he's talking about playercount, more quality of the game.
I see most people agree that dbd hit its peak quality and fun-wise in 2019, it's all been sorta downhill from there from a gameplay perspective. I.E. New killers just mostly being hybrids/New perks being mostly unoriginal, etc. I know a lot of players (3-4 year players) who have left after the Chains of Hate or Silent Hill chapter and aren't interested in returning.
The art and sound design is better than ever but the gameplay leaves a lot to be desired.
Oh, I see.
And yes, I agree with you. DBD 2019 was much more fun than it currently is.
-
It disheartens me, but it is true.

At least now freddy is the cheapest killer to play with. The second you have your perk you dont need to invest anymore
Which is not fine. Add-ons don't have to be extremely busted, like Iri Head or old Prayer Beads, but they have to be useful.
-
Picking itself up? I think the game was never "down" to begin with.
Games loses players everyday. And they get new players too.
-
One or two good changes here and there but, overall, this new update is a huge disappointment.

Don't worry, I'm sure in 2-3 years they'll give Freddy another garbage rework.
Together with another Pig nerf, of course.

I like killers with addons on the weak side when baseline killer is strong. Freddy is strong baseline so he doesn't need overly strong addons at all. There are still some good ones anyway.
Which ones?
Nancy's Masterpiece is decent, but barely noticeable.
Pill Bottle is not worth running, not anymore.
RPB can backfire now, as survivors will immediately run to the clocks and get their 30 seconds immunity.
Z Block is just... nope.
There is Class Photo, which can be somewhat good, but that is it.
Freddy's new and useless add-ons are another chapter of his sad tale in DBD.

Rest in piece Freddy's add-on's. Most of you were already weak, but now even more of you are.
You will be missed.
May his add-ons rest in piece, for now. Who knows, maybe after 2-3 years they will get changed again.
-
- Black Box: When a Gate is opened, the Entity blocks it for sleeping Survivors for 15 seconds.
- Jump Rope: While Survivors are in the Dream World, the sounds of their grunts of pain are 50% louder.
- Outdoor Rope: While Survivors are in the Dream World, the sounds of theirgeneratorrepairs can be heard from 8 meters further away.
- Swing Chains: While Survivors are in the Dream World, the sounds of their footsteps are 50% louder.
- Dream Pallet charges reduced to 7 (was 10).
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

Ikr lol I thought for sure they would tweak them to something a bit more fun. I get he don't need any but just looking for something that for one works and two is interesting. As for LB 90 Secs was def too much but I was hoping they kept the perk alive at least. Exactly what @indieeden7 said would have good or at least different and worth trying. Hell might have ended up being more powerful who know but now what if you lucky and bring best medkit you can get 2-3 uses best case. Assuming you lose the killer instant 3 times.
I was expecting them to change them, but perhaps I shouldn't have.
As for LB, I have mixed feelings towards it, but @indieeden7 suggestion is really good.
-
That sounds like a very good idea, especially if Totem Spawns were to be fixed.
-
No problem, my friend :)
-
And Freddy's new and useless add-ons are still useless... Why am I not surprised?
-
It refers to the Tome Levels, if I am not mistaken.
-
Black Box, Swing Chains, Jump Rope and Outdoor Rope are basically useless. Not to mention the Pallet Freddy nerf... After countless feedback, they did not change a thing.
I am so frustrated that I don't even know what to say. But then again, perhaps it was foolish of me to expect something different this time.
