And hey, even after countless feedback which expressed how useless those add-ons are, they still did not change it. I am so frustrated that I don't even have words to express it.
But then again, it was foolish of me to expect otherwise.

This has to be that one perk you don't wanna see on a Nurse: Infectious Fright.

You are correct it is No Mither
Also I still Remember Me
Ah, well played. Good ole Remember Me, I miss its original version.

Mad Grit perhaps
Mine: down me all you like, it won't stop me
I'm from a character who would drink tea
No Mither, is it?
Mine: Forget about this Exit Gate, boy. You are never going to open it... Wait, what happened to me? I used to be way stronger!

aye. and it's something that goes for other killers too. look how people DEMAND deathslinger gets the same windup as huntress, demo or PH, ignoring that those three have something that balance out missing, while deathslinger has nothing to make up for a missed shot with limited range.
Personally I think freddy would be more intersting to play and play against if they'd bring back the dream world restrictions, but give him something like plague's ability to get people to wall asleep. like, that you can trap gens etc and people would 'get tired' similar to plagues infection. plus give people an exhaustion thing in his matches to get them to fall asleep so people would have to manage what they are doing. running, concentrating etc would all drain it, more rapidly if you are 'drained'.
something like that.
Would it make the matches longer? yeah, but more interesting too.
Indeed. Some people just want easy victory, regardless if the other side is gutted or not.
As for Freddy, I also have my own idea for another rework, which is basically his old power with a few tweaks + Dream Projection.

I still maintain that a lot of blame is at how the community gives feedback paired with how devs look at stats.
Like, a lot of loud parts of the community seem dreadfully focused on winning quickly with the bare minimum (on both sides), so of course the feedback there is... near useless. They are also the same people that will smack down better feedback if said suggestions would require doing a iota more than the bare minimum.
Pair that with how devs seem so focused on easily manipulated stats, and wow that's a recipe for disaster.
That is exactly what happened to Freddy merely a week after his release, because people with less than 10 hours of gameplay were spamming negative reviews. Those players, who clearly shouldn't review a game which they've barely played, are to blame for his initial nerf, along with the devs obviously.
As for his rework, well... That is the actual disaster.

I agree completely with the video. Instead of keeping any personality old Freddy had, they basically just gave him everything. Some stealth, some anti-loop, some map pressure with the teleporting, some slow-down, etc. Was incredibly lazy and only looking at how to make him viable, but now they're nerfing him, so what was the point?
What was the point? Well, there wasn't one.
Old Freddy never required a full rework to begin with. It doesn't take much to understand that he only needed a few buffs and QoL improvements, yet the devs completely ruined his identity by giving him a generic power.

It’s clear they don’t play him with the new nerfs too
Snares are basically the same while pallets got unnecessary nerfs.
He just needs a third rework but the devs are too stubborn to change him again
I agree completely.
I hope one day the devs realise that completely reworking Freddy's power was not a good idea to begin with.

So should niche perks also not exist?
Its okay to have very bad and very niche perks and addons, you have a lot of options to choose from
I see what you're saying, the more useful addons the more variety, and i do agree that these addons are strange.
Perhaps... but I think the situation is a little bit different for add-ons and perks.
We already have a good variety of perks, and each chapter just adds more and more. If there is a perk you dislike, you can easily change it for another one.
The same is not true for add-ons. Killers have their own set of add-ons, and that is it. It is impossible for Freddy to use one of Wraith's add-ons, for example. The only add-on that can be applied to any killer is the Blight Serum, which cannot be used outside of Halloween events.
The small variety can be compensated by powerful, and useful, effects.

@Luciferr_2nd said:
Freddy does not rely on addons
So whats the problem with some niche addons?
If you don't like the addons don't use them, im sure theres plenty others you would like using, i personally never run addons.
The problem is that niche add-ons shouldn't exist, no matter the killer. They don't have to be absolutely busted, like Iri Head, but they must be useful.

I agree completely. I remember anticipating the release of the rework. I was so excited. Had my daughter download the update while I was at work. And then. 3 games later i shelved him.
The only killer adept i have. The killer who got me into this game isn't even level 50 yet. The only enjoyment i get from him when i play are the dream pallets.
If a picture could collect dust, freddy would be buried. I am sad.
Freddy's rework truly is a sad tale.
I remember my first match on that day. I was not excited at all, because I was never supportive of his rework in the first place, but decided to give it a shot because he is my favourite killer. Managed to get Old Lery's (which was my favourite map, btw) and everything just felt... wrong.
I may be one of the few Old Freddy mains who didn't drop him after the rework, but honestly I would do anything to get my old killer back.
-
Someone who doesn't play Freddy at all.
-
Nope, I most certainly am not.
-
One of the countless consequences of Freddy's failure of a rework, was ruining his identity.

I understand why the bouquets were removed, but I don't like the design direction where we're getting daytime maps - first Glenvale, then Ormond rework, now Coldwind. Doesn't fit the ambiance of the game or the lore.
I agree completely.
-
Never had a chance to try, but I would love to see them in action for myself.
-
I think they shouldn't remain exclusive, considering that Howling Grounds and Scorching Summer BBQ cosmetics, which required the player to work for them, aren't exclusive anymore.
-
I hope not but, sadly, we know it will.

This game was never really a horror game.
It was rather an asymmetrical multiplayer game with some slight horror elements here and there.
Then it should have stayed that way, because nowadays there is just no horror at all.
And this is very sad to see.
-
I will have to agree with you on that one. Trickster doesn't fit DBD at all.
But then again, I feel like the game loses more of its already fragile scary side with every update, which is something that truly disheartens me.
-
"Give him to me, and I will put on a show that everybody can enjoy"
-
Yes, please! Reject nerfed Freddy and embrace tradition:
-
Every single update... It gets annoying.
-
We all need to stop complaining about lots of things, to be honest. But then again, we probably won't.
-
Everyone has both of them, new players included.
-
Starstruck. Spare me the trouble of leveling Trickster up.
-
@Sup3rCatTree said:
You're literally playing Freddy, stop complaining
What? Those 2 were abusing an exploit! It matters not which killer OP was playing as.
-
I play both sides, but mostly killer.
Old Lery's used to be my favourite map, until the rework ruined it. Now, I think Midwich is my favourite.
And my least favourite map is Dead Dawg Saloon. I hate that map with a passion.
-
I've noticed it too. It has been quite a while since I've last seen a Spirit.
-
I don't really care about it, to be honest. Most people pre-drop pallets anyway, regardless of the bug.
-
Used to be one of the worst killers, but he is in a good spot right now.
-
But survivors have the advantage now, same way they had it in the past.
If a survivor main quits because the game is "unfair", then said survivor main is not a good player.
-
Here is mine, if I may share it with you:
-
Well, I enjoy playing solo survivor. Most of my survivor experience has been solo anyway, since most of my friends do not play DBD as much as I do.
-
Yeah, it is pretty stupid. But then again, the best thing you can do is ignore it.
Or catch them with Blood Warden. Both works.
-
Oh yes, I love to be here. Wish I had joined sooner, instead of waiting almost a year before finally creating an account.
But other than that, everything here is just perfect. I like to have a place where I can share my opinions and talk to my fellow gamers about my favourite game.
-
If they revert Iron Grasp back to its original version, Breakdown can stay.
-
Now that sounds like a great idea, especially if they allow us to use the old visuals!

I’m not the biggest fan of Freddy myself but that doesn’t make it right to accuse people that play Freddy. Y’all can play whoever you want and if someone wants to tell you otherwise, just ignore them. To me, the people that call out others for playing a certain character are the ones that make the game go down the wrong path, not the people that play the character.
Well said! It is good to see you standing up for us Freddy mains, like you said you would. Thank you, my friend <3

It definitely can’t don’t get me wrong but it not very stressful to play freddy since you have great map pressure and an easy to use chase power
Matchmaking was bad though but that’s just a given late at night
Certainly not as stressful as other killers, but still stressful. Freddy is very strong but, unfortunately, there are some situations where there is little you can do.
As for matchmaking, it truly is a nightmare (intended pun) late at night.

By the way, that was a good pun :)

They have a golden opportunity for a healthy skillful rework of Freddy Version 1 and 2.
Which, sadly, is not going to happen.
-
@Phasmamain said:
I mean playing Freddy with those add ons is as stress free as killer gets
Against a BNP and weird matchmaking? Nah, it most certainly isn't stress free. RPB + Swing Chains cannot hold gens forever.
-
Nope. Personally, I would love to see her as our newest killer.

Yay, Scott is becoming a Forum Killer.
I don't think so. Billy's nerf was one of the worst balance decisions I've ever seen. The only "OP" thing about Billy was Insta-Saw and even that is debatable.
I definitely don't think Scott is correct 100% of the time, but I agree with him on that one.

more bugs are made and the bugs you want fixed aren't but bugs are fixed when the game is updated. with the exception of the stun bug, that is.
Yeah, I suppose that is usually how it goes. Especially with the bugs you want fixed not getting fixed. That happens way too often.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:
maybe because they didnt release an update so there wouldn't have been a bugfix?
shocking, i know, but when the game updates is when bugs get fixed.

Are you sure about that?
