Would be cool if it was coded properly hell could be like playing against 2 different killers
It would be fantastic! A pity BHVR doesn't listen, or we would have such feature available by now.

I, for one, would be totally ok with replacing current Freddy with the original. Plus or minus a few tweaks. Current Freddy is incredibly boring and has horrific add-ons.

That they should. Oh, they really, REALLY should.
You know, that was the reason I first joined the Forums. One month after his rework, I desperately came here to see if there was a way to bring him back. Naive, I know, but it seemed like a good idea back then.
I've been trying ever since.
I am not going to lie to ya, my friend, this journey is painful sometimes:
More than it should be.
But I refuse to give up until my mission is accomplished. And seeing people like you always brings a smile to my face.
You are doing something important.
Never forget that.
Thank you for mentioning me, my friends.
-
Nothing.
-
Doesn't really mean anything, but I wished it did.
-
Think like this: "If I was a Survivor and was playing against Hag, where would I suddenly get jumpscared?"
Hag is not impossible to learn, just...different, from the others. Unique, if you may.
-
Surprised?

If you fall off a ledge while carrying a survivor, they get instant 25% wiggle progress. There's no height minimum; if the fall would activate Balanced Landing, it actives Boil Over. Taking the shortcut into the basement causes it; falling off the step at The Game's exit gates causes it.
Naturally, this resulted in a lot of map offerings and survivors running to areas that were already pushing it to reach a hook.
Jeez, that doesn't sound good. Why did they change it?

Yep, that was @WhiteCrow997 's idea. I am positive he thought it too!

Boil Over?
Did they change it?

Soon, they are looking into it, probably even working on it.
Apologies, but I can't seem to find this message:
Is there anything you wish to discuss?
-
I wish, but you know how it goes. Once BHVR makes a mistake, they never fix it.
Patch 1.9.2 might be the only exception, but that was only because it reached a whole new level.
-
As if mere shards could make up for it, but I think someone else around here mentioned it too.
They should be on their way.
-
No reason to get excited for those...things.
It is impossible to believe that we are talking about the same company that once provided us with The Hallowed Blight and Scorching Summer BBQ.
-
They can't.
It was devastating when they tried.
-
That map sucks.
-
Slowly watching the game I loved become something I despise.

The credit goes to the legendary @WhiteCrow997 , but this will always be the best Lunar event screenshot of them all.
Our good friend here took it during the Moonrise event in 2019, and for that he has my undying respect:
I quote his post:
"Trembling, crawling across my skin
Feeling your cold dead eyes
Stealing the life of mine
We found love"

Quite clear IMO.
The thing is, both dont indicate Skill. There are so many factors which make it impossible to see if someone is better just based on results.
IMO the Emblem System was not perfect for a Matchmaking, but with a few Tweaks, it could have been solid. It should have been harder to rank up for both sides, you had Killers and Survivors at Rank 1 who did not belong there. Also, Rank Reset should have been bigger.
But, the Devs are stubborn and think an MMR is needed and that their vision of an MMR is the correct one. Those two things will prevent any improvements anytime soon.
Well said.

I mean c'mon, you've been on the forums for awhile(judging by your post count) there is no way you forgot how hated she use to be and she's really not that much better to go against now after her tweaks and addon changes. I also find it a great testament to how much people miss old billy by how many people came to this post expecting him, RIP my boy.
They have the right to.
We all have suffered.

Hell naw.
The game was better without it, everyone saw it! The Emblem System or its old predecessor should have been left alone.
We complain because it is the only thing we can do. We complain because we foolish believe that BHVR gives a damn about what we think.

Freddy...
When i started this game (2018), Freddy and Myers was my reasons. I saw people are playing DbD. And i saw Myers and Freddy in this game. Omg! I was so excited and started. Myers was my first main and Freddy second. And Nurse third. But Nurse was op and boring for me, so i played with Myers and Fred more. But then i give break. Real life issues.
And i back to game at 2020 because life was boring at home and it was first days of covid. And i played as Freddy and it was weird: Because i had not ability to put people in Dream World. I had snares but i did not know what they are doing. I am so confused and after match, i looked what happened to him. Because i did not know BHVR reworked him. It was disappointed for me, i felt sad. Because i loved so much to play as Freddy, he was so unique. I gave chance to new Freddy but i never liked him. And then i stopped play him and i am sure so many people stopped play him for same reason. And then they nerfed him and more people stopped play him. Sad story for Freddy.
Wow.
You...understand.

I've been around since Freddy was introduced to DBD so yeah, I remember Prayer Beads, collision while phasing, gen yanking Spirit. Hated every second of those matches lol
I liked it.
When I started playing, back in 2018, everything was on sale so I got to face many DLC killers early on, Spirit included. Loved her back then, but I must admit she became a lot less interesting to me after her first nerf.

Are you saying she's the most fun to PLAY or to PLAY AGAINST? Because I can tell you you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who loads into a match, finds out the killer is a Spirit and goes "Well I'm glad this is about to happen"
You just have.
I've always enjoyed going against Spirit, her very first version in particular (don't know if you were around for that or not).
-
I know how that is. Prior to leaving the game, both of my favorites were extremely rare.
I mean, Hag is rare by nature, but Freddy was almost never there. I can't even remember my last match against him.

I know this is more of a joke because of that hideous comment during the Stream, but it might say a thing or two about the failure we know as MMR.

Well that is just because they are bad. Want me to link you a facecamping Bubba who has gone on a 50+ winstreak in MMR by facecamping with an endgame build? I do it all the time, it's not rocket science. Get a down in the first 60 seconds of the game? You get a 2k no matter what and almost always the 3k.
No other killer can just stand in front of the hook and get guaranteed kills. He is gonna eat the nerf bat with the facecamping changes. I would expect he will no longer be able to turn his chainsaw on around a hooked survivor. Enjoy him while you can, I certainly am. But I don't for a second think it's not stupid and broken lmao.
Well, that is just because those Survivors were bad.
You see how dumb this argument is? I can easily say that every single Survivor this guy has encountered was bad, just as you can easily say that every single Bubba I've encountered since he got reworked was bad. Both of us would look incredibly stupid doing so.
The truth, however, is that there are variables. When Survivors know what they are doing and what they should do to counter him, Bubba is not going to triumph every single time, regardless of his build. And vice-versa. A good Bubba player can beat a good team of Survivors, regardless of their builds. The same rings true for every single killer.
And no, this isn't a matter of "enjoying him" while we can. I don't play DBD anymore and have no interest in a reworked character. This is about Bubba's strength.
Which is nowhere near the level that this post claims it to be. Look around ya, matey.
Most people agree.

I mean lets be real, he is pretty busted. He can be looped but with good addons he shred all the pallets quickly. 1 mistep against a Bubba and the game is over if he wants to facecamp at 4-5 gens left with endgame perks. Which is pretty stupid, that the survivor team automatically loses because 1 person got chainsawed too early.
But realistically he is gonna eat the facecamping nerf the devs talked about in the QnA. Of course I abuse the crap out of it, but it's a really poorly designed character. At least Billy takes some skill
That is pretty incorrect.
I have seen PLENTY of Bubba players facecamp the first people they caught and leave the match with only 1 kill. Heck, I've seen they mess up and end up with zero countless times.
He can be countered by a window and by doing what a Survivor should do: gens. I do think that his rework was a bit too much and there was a better way to fix his weaknesses, but this post is greatly overestimating his strength.
-
Bubba is the new target, huh?

I tend to stick with single player games when I'm about to leave the house or go to bed. Too many things can happen in multiplayer games that can leave a sour taste in your mouth.
That is a good idea, ngl.
-
At this point, I don't really care.
-
"The Game" sucks.
Most people here know how much I despise reworked maps, but that one is just nasty.
It is basically an improved and more unbearable version of the Pallet Town, except that the original Pallet Town looked good.
This map's visuals are terrible and its gameplay even more so.

all they need to do is not freddy-ify him (i know who I'm replying to) and just keep what makes him currently appealing but add on to it and evolve it a bit.
keep stalking, keep tiers, keep 1shots, keep vaulting, keep the TR, etc. however, for him to be in line with modern killer design, it would make sense if he had an ACTUAL ability (something that isn't just M1 killer with stat boosts) that changes based on what tier he's in.
I don't trust them to not Freddy-ify him.
-
I understand where you are coming from, but touching a beloved killer like Michael sounds...a bit risky, in my honest opinion.
-
Allow it to affect the Snap Out of It action, as it once did.

You can also sleep survivor when they enter a locker. I remember doing that to a meg when she hid in a locker.
That was actually a glitch
-
The killer that I mained no longer exists, but I can share with you one or two things that I remember:
1- Old Freddy's power locked on through walls. While you couldn't put them to sleep if there was an object in the way, you would know their precise location, meaning that you could use it to sweep areas or Coldwind's fields.
2- The glimpses during the Dream Transition happened every 2 seconds. Such timing was easy to memorize and would give you a free hit 100% of the time, as long as you played your cards right.
3- Freddy raised both of his hands while casting Dream Demon, meaning that you could use the animation to bait a Dead Hard. A bit tricky, but definitely possible to pull off.
4- Overcharge was probably not the first perk to come to mind when you thought about Old Freddy's builds, but it was actually pretty useful. Forcing Survivors to constantly regress the gens while trying to wake up was a huge deal.
5- Last but not least, we have one of my favorites. Exclusive to his very first version, A.K.A the only perfect in the game's history, was a tremendously powerful slugger. Back then, you had to manually wake up a Survivor before saving them from the dying state, which could be used to your advantage by running perks like Knock Out and Thanatophobia.
There is definitely more to be said, but those are the ones that immediately come to mind.
Pay attention to my tips, bit*
Because, if I have my way...
They will be useful in the future.

@PleassBuiltInNoed said:
at least his main power does something with it
Exactly why I thought that add-on was always on his kit.

I would probably go with something along the lines of: Hex: Ruin, Hex: Undying, Hex: Devour Hope, Pop Goes the Weasel, Tinkerer / Make Your choice (this slot depends on the killer), BBQ, Enduring, Brutal Strength, Fire Up and Save the Best for Last.
This build would either be the "Ultimate Nightmare Freddy" or "Ascended Hag", because they are the only killers I really play.
-
That is a very interesting poll

I guess it was mostly because it improves Pinhead so much that you get hits with a power you aren’t supposed to get hits with. It’s made to slow down survivors and give survivors a chance to combat the chains so that’s part of the reason I don’t like the add on.
Perhaps.
