I know current Freddy is an absolute snoozefest (heh), but please believe me when I say that old freddy was pure beige cube simulator levels of interesting to actually play.
He was literally just an M1 killer that took forever to hit you and made everyone else take forever to do things.
It was bad, man.
Spread your lies elsewhere.
Your words of deceit will not be heard here, not when it comes to my killer.
If you had bad experiences, that was on you and your failure to see what made him special.

Tiffany says no.
Look at that regal, disapproving look. She was there back in the old days, she didn't like what she saw.
Tiffany also disappoints me.

Good doggo, he knows what is best.

or just make his dream pallet add ons turn him into old Freddy, each rarity increase decreases the amount of time it takes to pull some one into the dream. With these add ons Survivors no longer suffer from Micro Sleep. Tagging a Survivor with sleepiness adds a percentage towards Dream Projection
Dream Pallets and Dream Snares now become part of base kit
You're welcome BHVR
You and I have many disagreements, but it is good to see your instance on this particular situation.
As you once said to me:

Oh really? If only I was there to see it!
There it was, a GeneralV heartbroken, finding on Spirit the much needed comfort after Freddy was gone.
It brings back some memories.

I´m not sure about this. It looks like were are going back in time. Or something like that.
Anyway, @StarLost be rest assured, that the upcoming event will probably be a total sweat fest.
"It looks like were are going back in time"
Don't.
Don't give me hope.
Not like this.

Amazing, as always!

Howling Grounds is one of the reasons why i don´t look optimistic towards lunar events.
I haven't been optimistic towards an event since that disgraceful Eternal Blight.
I would deal with 1.9.2 a thousand times before dealing with whatever bullshit the future brings.

Victory cube?
A set of changes to the game released in 2017, focusing on the way killers ranked up.

The sabotageble hooks stayed during the whole event. They only reverter their "fixes" because they made killers unplayable.
Eh, at least the worst was gone.
-
As much as I would like for it to be Michael, we don't really know exactly how he looks like. Vanessa, on the other hand, we do.
-
I heard that a certain @GeneralV had a Spirit profile picture once, back in 2019. I believe he deserves one too 👀

Howling Grounds Event.
It was a nightmare experience for killers. Event hooks were sabotagable and the event patch brought us this gem of patch line:
- Fixed an issue that made it impossible to rescue a dying survivor with a pallet/flashlight save while being picked up or dropped mid animation. Now, the pick up/drop animation will play fully, followed by the flashlight/pallet stun.
That was fixed before the event ended.
-
Ich habe noch nie von einem solchen Problem gehört. Du musst Pech haben, mein Freund.
-
Eh, it would be a reason to remove BT from my build, if I was still playing.
-
Heh, you are lucky.
At least your cause might see the light of day.
-
I was here for Moonrise back in early-2019 and it was an otherworldly good event, but such things are beyond our reach right now.
It is probably going to be another disappointment, as most recent events are.
-
Honestly, your post is the best thing to come out of this...mess.
EDIT: On this scenario, an image is worth a thousand words.

Yeah but this guy had insta pallet breaks, insta downs, infinite lunge, insta pick up and insta uncloak, and probably even wall hacks because he found everyone instantly.
Though his build is quite interesting. Franklins, Lightborn, Beast of Prey and Unrelenting with double windstorm.
Oooof, that sounds miserable.
The cheater I mentioned only had speedhacks.
-
I played against one particular cheater a few times, long ago. Funny thing is, guy was so bad that his cheats could not save him.
If you played it right, you could still get him.
-
Pig deserves her 28m TR back. It should have never been removed in the first place.

Because you know so many options 😅
You don't need options when the one you have is already amazing.
-
Definitely not.
I like the concept of them choosing not to speak with the survivors.
-
Who doesn't? Having hope around this parts is a foolish mistake.
-
Freddy's P3.
-
I do.
I saw many Survivors try that and fail miserably, just like I saw many good plays with it too.
Its chance of success relied heavily on its user, but it was a cool thing nonetheless.
Such a shame it was removed.

I don't think it's necessarily harder - it definitely has a higher 'skill floor' (it took me maybe 100 hours to get to grips with the basics of killer, while survivor is very easy to pick up). The skill ceiling for both factions is pretty high.
I think it's a combination of:
- Repeated nerfs of killers/addons that literally nobody was asking for (Nemesis and Twins in 5.5 for example).
- Rapidly nerfing aspects of killers that were mildly problematic at low MMR, completely gutting them for high MMR play while moving very differently on survivor perks/addons that are even more problematic/overused.
- Overnerfs of killers to the point where they become unfun to play (Freddy, Wraith, Twins).
- Very slow/no nerfs to survivor perks that are seen in maybe 80% of games (Dead Hard is the biggie).
- Survivor attitudes and behavior ingame (general nastiness, extremely common rage quitting).
- SWFs not having any sort of MMR adjustment, leading to a lot of one sided stomps.
- Map design being overwhelmingly survivor sided, particularly after the removal of Hawkins and the addition of Eyrie.
When you balance your game in this way, you shouldn't be surprised when one side is irritated and bad feelings develop towards players on the other side, collectively. Nobody likes a double standard.
But all of it makes it, objectively, harder than Survivor...

Hag nope she has no sense of emotion or mercy anymore after all she went through
Hag became a killer to escape from her captors, and as far as I know I am not a member of a cannibalistic family.
I think there would be a chance.

Welp begging wouldn't do anything unless your begging for mercy from Wraith or Twins then Mabey
It really depends on which killer I am facing, to be honest.
If the Entity doesn't actively influence then, I can see Wraith, Billy and Hag more inclined to show mercy. At least more than the others.
-
Because it is harder than survivor, so there are more complaints.

Give yourself some credit
I am serious.
I am extremely weak and there is absolutely no way I would be able to beat any of those killers in a fight.
I would much rather beg and bargain for my life or accept my fate.

None.
I am one of the weakest humans alive.

In all seriousness, there's a lot of things that annoy me about modern DbD (boons, bizarro killer nerfs, DH validation, Dwights) but as someone who started maybe 15 months ago, this game feels a lot better than it used to.
Judge me by my nostalgia, do you? Hmm?
And well you should not.
For my ally is Old DBD, and a powerful ally it is.
In all seriousness, 15 months is not enough for you to have seen...No, not seen... experienced the best DBD ever had to offer. I started over 3 years ago, and it is almost unfair the game I played back then with the disgrace we all know.

The exit gates do not spawn.

Man, I look in the discount bin at Walmart for dvds an use my nephews as an excuse to sit there and watch the show. It’s sad how things today don’t elicit the same feelings. It’s not just Dbd, but entertainment in general has lost something that I’m afraid isn’t coming back.
At the very least, my friend, we have those memories :)

What are thse "layers of trash" that you're talking about? Do they have anything to do with the balance of the game or is it something else?
It is everything, really.
Every bad decision, every unnecessary change...everything.
Be it balance, graphics, killer design. It is all of it.

I remember running home from the bust stop in order to make it on time for the opening of the show. It was so amazing when they introduced the Green Ranger and his flute dagger that summoned his dragon zord. I wish I can go back. Gosh I feel like such and old fart now.
Damn, same. It was so long ago, but I remember being excited for every episode, and the opening...That opening is so good that I barely have words to describe it.

Eh.
It's far from perfect - but it's still the best APVP game out there.
It's Xeno's Paradox. The better something is, the more it's flaws become apparent.
It once was the best APVP game out there. Heck, I dare say it once was one of the best games one could possibly play.
Now...now it is nothing but bad things after bad things, in a an endless pile of trash that downright insults the masterpiece DBD used to be.
-
Freddy profile picture was going on the "not bait" side, huh?
I like that already ;)

The few things that make it worth it are already way too surrounded by countless layers of trash.
-
The game will not loose all of its players, though it certainly deserves to.
