Yes, i run Bond, Better together, Spine Chill, Kindred and Whiskey
-
Monkey Island, Monster Hunter, Fire Emblem, Mount & Blade... to name a few
-
This is no different than getting hit 2 meters aways from a recently dropped pallet. Both sides have to deal with BS sadly.
-
It's ridiculous, and even more ridiculous that we don't have the option to turn it off.

Self care is a killer perk that received Claudette by mistake.
-
Wow, people getting mad simply because someone suggested to change the description of a perk (not nerf it) because it can be misleading.
Gotta love DbD forums.
-
Your counter to Iron Will is Stridor, thank me later.

Bur how so, it just tells you when the killer is looking in ur direction while alert shows there aria for 5 seconds everytime
Because Spine chill procs more easily and only does it when the killer is getting close to you. Being able to see killer's aura on the other side of the map doesn't help much either.

Im not saying entitled SWFs are never pretending that they are solos...but....
...as i see, most of the times, entitled killermains are too entitled to check the player profiles, at least....before they pull out the "OMGitsanSWF" card...
....after giving an awfully weak performance...
I literally play soloQ only, but i get accused playing SWF a lot...
Same, and some of them call me liar when i tell them that i was actually playing solo. Even when they see that i was running Bond, Kindred and Better Together. 🤷
-
I completely agree, and with Nemesis there will be more perks that will make gen auras yellow as well.
Better together should keep the yellow aura and change the colour of the others.

....what? this has nothing to do with the question. you just brought up an entirely new, unrelated topic for no reason.
As we would say in my country, "he came here just to talk about his book"
-
This is like asking "would you be happy if survivors could just run in a straight line with no windows or pallets?"
There are people on both sides who want easy games, that doesn't mean all of them are like that.
-
I enjoy that map as Trapper.

Ohh, you are just a genius, How couldnt I think that before? If I dced, its because there are 4 keys on the game, I still dont know if they are broken.
You said "usually".
If that's true then you know you shouldn't be DCing, and if it isn't then that means you are just playing the victim card, like many other people here.
DCing because of game features is childish anyway, so i advise you to play a different game. Try single player games and set them on the easiest difficulty.

There is no actual counter to keys. People in SWF usually put 4 broken keys in the last second and a hatch offering just to make the killers quit, they cant escape by hatch but they dont need to as they are just gonna make the killer DC like bully squads.
then don't DC. Easy counter.
Thank me later.

Thanks for using self-care, you are fearsome and if I meet you in my games I will be afraid of you 😌
I've never seen so much truth behind a meme.
I legit think that anyone who recommends to use self care is just a killer main trying to trick survivors.

Why should the perk of the 4 trump the perk of the 1?
Stridor: All Survivors' Grunts of Pain are 25/50/50 % louder
Iron Will: When injured, Grunts of Pain are reduced by 50/75/100 % (in other words, you make 0 noise)
Hope you understand.
-
That's kinda the point of the perks, so they are fine.
The only problem is how Stridor works against Iron Will. If you don't make any noise while injured because of Iron Will then Stridor shouldn't increase its volume.
-
"Why is this still allowed?"
Why shouldn't this be allowed?
-
Self care.
-
We don't need more people dodging.

The autoban is the biggest issue. People will report others for anything. Flashlight? Reported. Mori? Reported. Key? Reported. SWF? Reported. It's going to be especially bad for streamers. If the feature goes live, then I can see the game dying in a couple of days.
Back to the zombies, it's going to be the same issue as Spirit. No counterplay. People hate going against Spirits because there is nothing they can do against her. Unless you're a quiet character or have Iron Will, then you're probably screwed. I'd honestly prefer for Nemesis to have control over the zombies. At least then you can plan accordingly to his actions, but for the AI just to walk out and block you feels cheap. It could even anger the killer to a certain point as they now have to hut the zombie. And if it's the same AI as the tutorial, then oh boy, get ready for a treat.
I didn't find anything beneficial from the stream, other than, again, boon totems.
Moris and keys are going to become base-line features. The new map is God awful. It's one of the worst in the game right now with the tight hallways of Hawkins combined with the God pallets of The Game.
The focus on Game Health is good, but I'm not expecting very much from it.
"I'd honestly prefer for Nemesis to have control over the zombies. At least then you can plan accordingly to his actions, but for the AI just to walk out and block you feels cheap."
Glad more people understand this very basic thing.

Completely different things - but can usually be used, repeatedly. Zombies exist, 2 on a map. 2 zombies on one giant map. Dodge them.
And they can block, injure, camp, force survivors to leave gens, track them and down them without the killer having to work for it. Also, in indoor maps they can easily block or down you, especially while being chased, it's not as easy as "just dodge them" because you sometimes can't.
Again, if the zombies were more influenced by the killer's actions i wouldn't have any problem with that, but having access to ALL THAT without any effort coming from the killer is just dumb.

I mean, we've had second chance/exhaustion perks, keys, SWF, items and addons doing survivors job for years.
What's the big deal? There's 2 zombies on an entire map.
Perks/addons/items and passive abilities are completely different things.

You shouldn’t have a flashlight in a perk. How about change that instead
Are you talking about the new perk Flashbang? 🤣
That perk requires you to repair 50% of the gen AND THEN go into a locker to craft it, survivors totally have to work for it. Meanwhile we got the zombies, who can block, inflict the contaminated status effect, injure or put a survivor into the dying state without requiring the killer to do anything at all. They can also be used to track other survivors. All that FOR FREE.

They aren't even compareable to Trappers Traps in power though. He can set up his traps where he needs them to be, and they can immediately down a survivor if the trapper gets to the trapped survivor fast enough. The zombies only infect a survivor, or injure them when they are infected, and they are very slow and easily avoidable.
The only time they really get effective is when they chase survivors off of gens or when they are at pallets while a survivor is being chased.
"they really get effective is when they chase survivors off of gens"
Yeah, that's also killer's job.
-
@glitchboi said:
I like them tbh, it allows Nemesis to have more map control which I love. Plus it requires survivors to waste pallets around the map (correct me if I'm wrong), making his power unique compared to Plague and PH.
Even if you kill them with pallets (a limited resource) they will respawn, so yeah xD. I can't imagine anyone wasting pallets on them tbh.

So you want the killer to be able to place them around their hex totems, generators, exit gates, etc? In my opinion that would be far more overpowered.
No, place them and head to a specific direction. Not to patrol areas, i already thought about that.

@Jasix said:

And again - it is the evolution of the game to create even more threats and mechanics to the game. The zombies fit perfectly with the RE theme. I, like many, feel this is a step in the right direction for the game and that this was a perfect time to introduce something like an AI aspect. They will not be removing them - as they are also integral to Nemesis' power. You don't have to like it - there are things about certain killers which I don't like.
DBD has to evolve - and this is a really good step in that evolution of game mechanics.
And again, i never asked to remove them. Just more interaction between the zombies and the killer, that's it.
As i said before: "If killer was able to place them or whatever i would be fine with them"
-
@Jasix said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2215616#Comment_2215616
Again - the game needs to evolve and the reaction to them has been overwhelmingly positive as a good advancement into new threats in the game. Have you actually played the PTB? (Guessing not as they are easily avoidable)
Again, no so easily avoidable in narrow places or indoor maps, especially when you are being chased. If killer was able to place them or whatever i would be fine with them, but spawning just like that without any requirement other than just picking a killer? I don't know dude, it doesn't feel right.
-
@Jasix said:
I mean if you want to get technical - it's quite similar to Plague puking on pallets, windows, gens - if you interact you get infected.
Adding new features to the game is a good thing - and I for one thought the zombies added an extra layer of horror after a few matches in PTB.
I think it is absolutely on brand for RE to add zombies.
Yeah, but plague has to puke on stuff. Zombies spawn just by playing as Nemesis, you don't have to do anything at all.
-
@Orion said:
It's just part of the killer's power. Besides, they're dumb as #########.
They can easily catch you in narrow places, especially while you are being chased. It's like Trapper's traps, difference is that Trapper has to place them first. This new power just requires the killer to exist.

I don't care about what people do in the single player mode, but i don't want them in my team whenever they switch to multiplayer.
I was playing Monster Hunter Generations some time ago and i met someone who killed one of the monsters in just 2 shots, i checked his stats and they were crazy high. I don't bother on reporting them though, i just either leave or kick them if i'm the host of the lobby.

Because then you would buff a perk that allows survivors to be more self-sufficient the entire match. That's why perks such as unbreakable or deliverance are so powerful when they are used, they don't require the team to get help. Before it was nerfed, everyone ran self care because of this exact reason. Why would you ever run a medkit if you could have a perk that is basically a free medkit at all times?
"Why would you ever run a medkit if you could have a perk that is basically a free medkit at all times?"
Because that's the smart choice. In most games i've played, mainly mmos, if you can get the same buff, skill or whatever from both items and armors (perks in this case) you should always use the item and leave the armor for unique stuff.
Also, good players don't need unlimited heals anyway.

I hang in there because I want to give my team the option

I know for me as a survivor, I'm much more likely to go for the cool heroic save that gets us all killed rather than just cut my loss and leave like a smart person because the cool heroic save is interesting where walking away is boring.
I guess it's different for each survivor. Personally, my main goal isn't about escaping, it's about to give the least possible number of kills.
In other words: "Winning" isn't my 1st priority, i want the opponent to lose".

Because you also said you're just going to leave and that's why you'd give up in their place.
Edit: also, you said proxy camping. Unless you wanna change that to "facecamping" then there's always a way past, especially if the survivors are working together.
I would give up because i don't want them to die because of me, not because i expect them to leave. If i expected that i wouldn't have made this post in the first place lol.
It's called "playing smart".

@MadLordJack said:
If you wanna be selfish, fine, but maybe don't shame people for being hopeful. I go for saves all the time in that scenario even without BT, it's not that hard to slip past. Then at worst it's a hook trade.
"it's not that hard to slip past"
Thing is, unless killers prove me otherwise, i expect to face decent/okayish killers, and they don't tend to let that happen.
Also, i'm implying that if i was in their situation i would totally kill myself in order to make sure that the others get to live, so how does that make me "selfish" anyway? 🤣
